You know I really like Sigma and stuff. I have been loving this character from like the day he was added in Overwatch. I have a tattoo dedicated to him. There are many things about him that I adore and love. I feel like I relate to him on some personal level (I won't elaborate). He is beautiful, like really and honestly my type. And I love that he has such a big community of fans and I think he deserves it. But.
Y'all are sleeping on Akande. And I grew to love him, maybe even more than Sig, who knows? Let's just forget about the fact that he's a villain. Moira, for example, is sometimes more violent than him (imo), but she has a big fanbase too. Like a lot of villains have bigger fanbases. But here on Tumblr I know like only 3 Doomfist's stans including me? And I blame Blizzard for it.
Because they kinda included him in the game with that cool anime styled origin video but that was actually it. And it is a problem with a lot of characters. But Akande is kinda one of those characters that doesn't get any love from Devs lore-wise. They made him into a great Villain in retrospect just for what. I feel like they are wasting his potential.
And it goes with the design too. The first Overwatch design of him honestly is so not really good imo? It doesn't represent his lore like AT ALL. The guy still looks like he just got from prison with his torn shirt around his waist and it's kinda too minimalistic? Lore-accurate Doomfist is wealthy, charismatic and strong. Yes, he literally says that he doesn't care about the aesthetics, but Overwatch 2 design, on the other hand, is majestic. The amount of little details they added on him is just the chef's kiss. I love the aesthetics and I love the fact that they included more of his ethnic stuff in his costume, though, still making him look like a brawler he is.
His gameplay and current state? He is a pretty hard character to learn I'm not gonna lie. I feel like he is that type of character that requires a lot of work to actually make significance but it is worth it in the end. Though, as some dude on Doomfist mains Reddit said: "the moment the enemy takes Orisa it isn't fun for me anymore". He wasn't that hard countered by her in the first game because he actually had more damage and "Uppercut".
I don't even want to talk about changes from DPS to tank or how fucking ridiculous the amount of the bugs in his character is still in the game and Devs absolutely don't care about it.
Also hands down to the king Sahr Ngaujah because his voice actually gave a life to the character and charm he needed.
I just think he's a great character who deserves a bigger audience of followers and of course, I'll try to make some content myself and stuff but I kinda want Blizzard to realise they kinda are wasting him.
Pray for my supervillain I guess🙏🩷
Feel free to add your thoughts though

A/N: I am so sorry for my absence! I wish I have a good excuse for being absent, but the truth is I'm not doing so hot in the real world rn. My job is cutting back hours and I barely have enough for rent. I'm getting a second job next month so hopefully, things smoothen out.
Here is the long-awaited update that I will kick myself for delaying in exchange for obsessively crying over Good Omens Season 2. Let the montage of Awa'atlu life commence! Again, thank you for your patience and I hope you enjoy!
Note: The title is named after the Phil Collins song "Strangers Like Me" because Tarzan and Avatar just go together XD

To avoid having Ronal hunt her down again, Kayla got up earlier the next morning and made her way back to the village to join her brother's family for breakfast before her lessons. Kiri was definitely doing better and Tuk was excited that her aunt had decided to see them off before their busy days. After pleasant conversations and the promise to meet before their midday meal, the kids took off to pursue whatever they planned for the day. Kayla stood up with the intention of going to find either the tsahik or the olo'eyktan and so Jake walked her out of the marui as they talked.
"So Neteyam mentioned that you guys talked about what happened between Lo'ak and Ao'nung," Jake started off.
'Oh, boy, here we go,' Kayla thought as she tilted her head to glance back at him, feigning partial innocence, "Yes? What about it?"
"Nothing, I just wanted to let you know that it's already been handled, and it sounds like the boys are actually getting along now. Neteyam also mentioned that you didn't get to meet Ao'nung yesterday so I wanted to make sure you knew this before you went looking for a fight with the kid."
"Jake, how young do you think I am?" When his face twisted with hesitance, she rolled her eyes, "Don't answer that. What I'm trying to say is that I'm not a child, I'm older than I look, and believe it or not, I do realize this. You don't have to worry about me... but you could've been a little nicer to Lo'ak."
Jake refrained from also rolling his eyes, knowing his sister would say this. He wasn't blind. He was well aware that Kayla would always be quick to defend his youngest son, no matter what he did. Jake was half-convinced that Lo'ak could get away with murder as far as his aunt was concerned, "He knew he wasn't allowed to go beyond the reef but he went anyway. He was at fault as much as Ao'nung."
"I get that, but it feels as though Lo'ak received more punishment than the boys who actually put him in danger, and for what?"
"For picking fights."
"No, for defending his sister," her eyes narrowed, "Not that you would know what that means."
Jake took the verbal lashing in stride, internally sighing, "I can't punish the chief's son for what he does against my kids, Kayla."
At first, Kayla had every intention of cursing her brother out, but instead paused and tried rephrasing her response. Her eyes drifted to the reef while she recalled far-off memories, "I remember Mom and Dad were allowed to punish the neighbor kids if they misbehaved with us and no one would bat an eye."
The mention of his old life irked him, and he wasn't afraid to show that in his deep snarl, "Well, Mom and Dad aren't here and we're not on Earth," her posture visibly stiffens but doesn't interrupt. Jake's wave of anger is immediately replaced with guilt, so he opts in taking a breath before he could say anything else he might come to regret, "Things are different here. So be civil and keep the peace. Don't go picking fights with teenagers."
"I won't," she mutters darkly, the coldness in her eyes returning as she side-eyes him, reminding Jake that he still wasn't out of the storm regarding her, "That's what you're here for."
She doesn't stay long enough to hear whatever rebuttal he might have in mind. Instead, she walks down the pathways leading further into the village before calling back, "I'll see you later."
Tail lowered in distress and possibly shame, Jake could only turn back to the marui and try to go about his day as he normally would. He knew he deserved the petty insults and his sister's aggression toward him, especially after all the radio silence she had endured for months while he was here experiencing a new way of life, on top of everything else. He just wished Kayla could manage to let go of all the pain and anger like he did when he first began to learn the ways of the Omatikaya. Physically, Kayla's avatar hasn't changed apart from the new Na'vi trinkets she had added to her standard-issued cargo shorts and crop top. However, Jake had hoped her mentality toward him would change the more she learned how to be Na'vi.
He knew he was a fool to get his hopes up so soon.
Walking through the village, Kayla went down the same route Ronal had brought her yesterday, hoping she would catch sight of the tsahik. Again, there were some stares from the Metkayina, but they didn't last as long as the day before and the reef people didn't look as bothered by her appearance. The Na'vi go about their day without much acknowledgment to Kayla, and before she knew it, she had made it to her destination, the craft huts she had met Tsireya just the other day.
It wasn't hard to find Ronal among the crowd of mottled skin patterns. Her accessories, tattoos, and rounded stomach are a dead giveaway, and the tsahik easily found Kayla in the crowd in turn, though it wasn't as hard, given the circumstances. Ronal's eyes visibly squint when her gaze lands on Kayla, then the Na'vi woman pulls away from her task to rise and meet the avatar. Another Na'vi stands to join her, a teenage boy and Kayla had an inkling who it was.
When Ronal approached Kayla, she motioned to the boy behind her, "My son, Ao'nung."
Smiling timidly, Kayla greets Ao'nung as respectfully as possible, though even she could admit her smile was tighter than usual. Ao'nung didn't say a word back, instead deciding to simply nod and avoid eye contact. His ears drooped and his head lowered like this was torture for him. Clearly, he was being coerced into being here with Kayla, but she decided not to fault him for it. Perhaps he's already being punished enough for his wrongdoings that he didn't need Kayla to torture him further about it.
Ronal doesn't appear to notice nor care for Ao'nung's discomfort and sternly stated to Kayla, "We will be teaching you how to communicate underwater. Do not fall behind or you will be left behind."
Kayla refrains from the small smile that threatened to escape her. Ronal's words vaguely reminded her of Neytiri's way of teaching Jake both from the stories she heard and the video log Jake had recorded. As Jake had once phrased it, 'Learn fast or die.'
With that in mind, Kayla doesn't complain and silently follows Ronal and Ao'nung away from the craft huts and further down the pathways. It didn't take long before they brought their guest to a large marui. It wasn't as big as the communal pod for the feasts, but it was significantly taller and wider than the normal ones Kayla has seen, including the Sullys' marui. She took note of the different colors of weaving and decorations adorning the home, such as the totem and skimwing skull hanging over the front entrance in greeting, a small windchime of shells softly dancing in the warm breeze. If Kayla had to guess, this was the olo'eyktan and tsahik's pod. Soon after stepping inside, both Ronal and Ao'nung lower to the ground, sitting back on their legs and Kayla does the same, proceeding to listen as Ronal starts off the lesson.
Nothing eventful happened as Kayla learned the Metkayina equivalent of sign language. Ao'nung never said a word regarding Lo'ak or any incident that happened with Kayla's nieces and nephews prior to her arrival. In fact, Ao'nung didn't say a whole lot other than chiming in a time or two to help Kayla with the lesson. Perhaps he never said a word outside of the subject of his people's sign language because his mother had been giving him sharp looks throughout the whole lesson. It was hard to miss. Ronal wasn't exactly a subtle creature. She openly expressed whatever she was feeling, unafraid of hurting someone's feelings, not even her son's, it would seem.
It was amusing to find all the similarities between the mother and son, both physically and spiritually. Their glare, eyes, and even their pout were the same. Kayla even dared herself to look a little closer without getting caught and noticed that Ao'nung inherited the same mole as his mother's, both spots found above their lip, on the top right side.
She must have lost track in time as the suns rose higher in the sky. Before she knew it, her next teacher had shown up to take her to her next destination. Tonowari stepped up into the marui, his large frame blocking the majority of the light coming in through the entryway. His gaze brushes over Kayla and Ao'nung before his eyes land on the tsahik, "Ma Ronal. Is this a good time?"
One of Kayla's ear flick to the side at the term of endearment, glancing over to the woman in question who only firmly nods and stares back at Kayla, "Go on. My mate will continue your riding lessons from yesterday."
Kayla mutters her thanks and stands up to join Tonowari. As they turn toward the exit, the olo'eyktan points back to his son, "Ao'nung. Remain with your mother."
"But, Father--"
"Do not question me, boy," the tone in Tonowari's voice was a little louder and stronger than normal, and even Kayla could feel her spine straightening up, despite not being under his scrutiny. Kayla briefly glances back at Ao'nung and notes the way he shrinks in on himself, still unable to look her in the eye, clearly embarrassed. Kayla looks away and follows Tonowari out of the marui, shadowing his footsteps as he addresses her, "I apologize for my son."
For the moment, Kayla had the empathy to pity the teenager and decided to soften the blow against Ao'nung, "There's nothing to apologize for. He was a pleasant enough teacher."
His voice had reverted back to its normal tone, significantly smoother and kinder on the ears, "Did you learn well?"
"I think so. It's not that different compared to what the Sky People have," when he flashed a questioning glance over his shoulder at her, she further explained, "They have a language that requires hand motions, too."
He doesn't question it further, instead looking back ahead and leading Kayla down to the docks. The ilu anxiously await their arrival in the water below, clicking and calling excitedly as Tonowari pulls a harness over one of their heads. The two adults get into the water and stand beside the earnest ilu, Tonowari trying to calm the creature whilst Kayla makes tsaheylu. She mounts the creature with ease, remembering yesterday's lesson and dreading the idea of falling off again as Tonowari begins reassuring her, "You need to exude confidence. Tell the ilu that you will command them and you will be respected by them. Do not give them space to come up with their own ideas."
She takes a few deep breaths to calm her nerves and nodded, waiting until Tonowari steps away before commanding the ilu to move forward using only the bond connecting them to each other's thoughts. The creature obliges and all appears to be going smoothly. Kayla manages to instruct the ilu to swim faster before eventually sinking underneath the water's surface. The ilu picks up speed and even as she clings on for dear life, Kayla could already feel her grip loosening. Angry and determined, Kayla tightens her thighs around the saddle of the creature and demands her bonded steed to leap out of the water and let her breathe, no room for nonsense.
To her shock and delight, the ilu chirped happily and sprung out of the water like a bullet, briefly flying through the air and allowing Kayla to take a breath before diving back in. She was so shocked that she almost lost her grip before regaining composure and asking the ilu to do it again, in case she had only imagined her success. The ilu was ecstatic to leap out of the water again and did so without a fuss, and this time, Kayla laughed as the shock wore off.
On the surface, the woman is met with a small audience. Lo'ak, Neteyam, and Tsireya were out riding their own respective ilu that afternoon before briefly pausing to watch a school of fish swim all around them, tickling their feet. Just as Kayla appeared to finally be getting the hang of riding an ilu, the teenagers caught notice of her as well. Lo'ak is the first to spot her, cupping his hands over his mouth as he crows in encouragement, "Go, Auntie! Woo-hoo! Yeah! You got it!"
Kayla laughs as Neteyam and Tesireya begin to cheer her on as well, their voices carried by the winds as Kayla and her ilu dive into the water and back out again. By the time Kayla remembered herself and returned to her teacher, Tonowari had his arms crossed but otherwise appeared pleased by her improvement, tail leisurely swaying behind him with curiosity.
~~~~~~~~~
Weeks go by since Kayla first arrived in Awa'atlu, and despite having to adapt to yet another completely different culture, Kayla had to admit that it was getting easier as time went on. She originally thought the ways of the Metkayina were a cakewalk compared to the Omatikaya, but maybe it was because she learned from the Forest People first that made learning from the Reef People easier than she originally thought it would.
She makes sure to reiterate this to Norm and the other humans every time she sees them. When everyone in Awa'atlu is meant to be resting, Kayla retreats to her campsite and secures her avatar form before closing her eyes and breaking the neural link. The next time she opens her eyes, it's within the link gurney back at High Camp.  Norm and Max are always there to greet her, asking about her headaches and other health problems. There were days even Kayla had to admit were rough. After spending so much time in her avatar form, it's starting to strain the link connecting herself to her human form and it causes massive headaches every time she breaks a new record of not reporting back for days on end. To distract her friends from lecturing her, Kayla just updates everyone on Kiri's condition and relays any messages Jake or the rest of the Sully family wanted her to bring. In return, the scientists or even the Na'vi, such as Txe'la and Meui, would update her on any information regarding Ardmore or any Sky People activity.
She's always left disappointed when they say the same thing. No one has seen Spider.
Trying not to let the news discourage her, Kayla always wakes back up in her avatar form in better spirits so as not to worry Jake and his family. Kayla continues to treat the days as normal, continuing her lessons and helping out in any way she can so as not to overstay her welcome. When she wasn't following Tonowari or Ronal around, Kayla was usually in the company of her nieces, nephews, and their new friends.
Tsireya was one of those friends, and she was such a sweet girl who would happily entertain Kayla in any endeavor. When she wasn't busy, one of Kayla's favorite pastimes was helping Tuk and Tsireya find seashells for their hair and any jewelry idea they had in mind. Tsireya, as Tuk said, knew all the best spots where the shells were always fully intact and not crushed into pieces by the harsh tides. During these little adventures, Kayla, Tuk, and Tsireya would learn more about each other, bonding over the fact that they were all their families' younger sisters.
The sign language was easier than the verbal language, but Kayla felt as though she had a rug pulled from beneath her feet when Ronal knowingly stated that she was going to be teaching her student a third language. The tsahik, with the help of other Metkayina, began to teach Kayla the language of the tulkun, the sea creature Kayla learned to be the spiritual animal and companion to the Reef People, as the ikran is to Forest People. Apparently, not even Kayla's nieces and nephews have progressed as far as learning the tulkun language yet, and they became ecstatic to realize that they would be learning this alongside their aunt. Joining Ronal in these lessons with Kayla and the Sully kids would also be Tsireya and Rotxo, which only excited the forest kids more. Ronal wasn't as pleased with her own student when she caught Kayla fondly watching the children interact more than once.
Kayla had to learn this extra language on top of her breathing lessons, the latter of which was taught by both Tonowari and Ronal. Sometimes they would teach her separately, and other times they would do so together, but whatever the case may be, it didn't matter to Kayla. She would carefully listen to whoever was teaching her, and sometimes she listened so intently that she caught herself observing her teachers a little too closely.
Like Tonowari's eyes for example. Kayla noted they were a light blue at first as she sat cross-legged across from him while they practiced breathing exercises. But upon closer inspection, Kayla noticed specks of green engulfed by those blue orbs, like clumps of islands surrounded by warm sparkling oceans.
He was a clenched fist with a gentle touch. Kayla greatly admired him for being someone who could easily take advantage of his strength and position above his people but chooses to be kind and soft-spoken instead.
 It was fascinating for Kayla to see just how different the Metkayinas' eyes were compared to the Omatikayas'. Whereas every Na'vi of the Forest had orange or yellow cat-like eyes, the ones who live off of the reef had rounder and bigger eyes, not to mention they had a variety of different shapes, sizes, and colors.
Like Ronal's eyes. The opposite of her mate's, Kayla noted that Ronal's eyes were more green than blue, with specks of a warm, gold color, like a sunset reflecting off the ocean surface.
She was orphic, but that's as far as Kayla allowed herself to describe the tsahik.
There was plenty to say about Ronal, but Kayla thought it best not to linger on any of the words bouncing around in her head. It was clear to her that the tsahik will always disapprove of Kayla and her presence among the Metkayina, so Kayla didn't want to compliment the Na'vi woman too much, especially since she doesn't intend on staying for very long.
Her stay was still very much temporary, at least in Kayla's eyes, as she still intends on going back to the forest to find Spider. For now, however, she was content with her small campsite just inside the treeline of the Metkayina island, a campsite that Ronal appears to disapprove of along with everything else about Kayla. The tsahik still has to occasionally venture out and find Kayla among the trees if she is in need of the avatar woman, like today when Ronal had the mind to take the time to find Kayla. It wasn't hard since the demon had kept her promise and never moved her campsite so she would be right where Ronal could find her. Still, Kayla was apologetic when Ronal found her and the tsahik begrudgingly told the foreigner to follow her back to the village.
Ronal brings her to the shoreline and recruits her to help fix an ilu pen that had begun to wither with age. Tonowari was already hard at work on it and briefly looked up to greet the two women when they sat down on the edge of the pathway and gracefully slipped into the water with him. After a brief instruction from him, Kayla gets to work in silence, and Ronal isn't opposed to doing the same. The silence wasn't as awkward as they were in the past, but out of the corner of her eye, Kayla could clearly see that something was bothering the tsahik, as Ronal wasn't ashamed of openly frowning while watching Kayla work. She didn't appear to be glaring in disapproval, but she looked... frustrated. It was as if she was trying to figure out a complicated puzzle. Kayla briefly glanced at the Na'vi positioned on the other side of her and noticed that Tonowari was much more subtle than his mate. Unlike Ronal, he only snuck glances at Kayla and her work here and there and did his best to hide whatever expression was on his face.
"Am I doing it wrong?"
"No. You're doing well," a compliment was not what she was expecting and it shows as Kayla's ears perk up and her eyes briefly widen. Ronal pointedly ignores the reaction and blatantly asks, "Why do you not stay with your brother's family at night?"
Kayla looked at Ronal, nose scrunched slightly in confusion, all the while completely unaware of the stare Tonowari sent to his mate from above Kayla's head, "Why would I?"
"Group sleep is also customary in the Metkayina."
"What's a group sleep?"
By Eywa, did the Omatikaya teach this alien woman anything? Ronal huffs out an irritated sigh, "Families sleep in large groups, usually in their swaynivi. Some clan members will sleep alone or with their mate just as long as they return to their family's nivi in a short period of time. Otherwise, they're deemed spiritually unhealthy. It is unsafe for one to sleep alone."
"I see," Kayla's ears pin back and her posture straightens, understanding the question now while pointedly staring down at her work on weaving the ilu pen together instead of addressing Ronal, "Well, where I'm from, that's called an invasion of privacy. I would assume that the families who sleep in large groups mostly contain parents and their children, correct?"
She doesn't wait for a response as she further explains with a small distaste in her mouth, "Since I'm neither of those, I don't want to invade my brother's and his children's privacy. Thank you for your concern, but I've been alone for a very long time. I can assure you that I am just fine with the sleeping arrangements I have now."
Even Ronal can sense a dismissal when she hears it in Kayla's voice. It was clear that the alien woman didn't want to further discuss this topic and so the tsahik didn't push it. Returning to her work, Ronal now briefly shared a glance with Tonowari but he pointedly kept his mouth closed during the whole conversation and after.
Luckily, the silence is saved by Neteyam as the teenager arrives with a purpose, slightly bouncing over the pathways above the adults' heads, "Auntie. My father is looking for you."
Kayla's discomfort visibly melts before Tonowari and Ronal's eyes. She looks up and smiles at the Na'vi boy, "Tell your father he can come and get me himself next time instead of sending you out. You should be elsewhere, enjoying the reefs and hunting with your friends."
She briefly turned back to the clan leaders, silently asking for approval to leave with her eyes flicking between the two Metkayina. Both nodded and openly watch as Kayla turns back to Neteyam, smiling up at her nephew as she rises up onto the pathway and follows him out, gently shoving him once to get him to pick up the pace so she didn't trip on his heels.
Neteyam huffed a small laugh as they walked, but the sound falls in replace of shame. He was visibly acting a little shy as he avoided eye contact, "I am sorry that I told my father about our conversation. I should have asked for your permission."
"Hey, no harm," she nudged him, "It's not like our talks are meant to be a secret or anything. It's nice that you can trust your father with everything; trust him enough to talk about whatever you want. As long as you're comfortable, kiddo."
"Was your father not like that?"
Kayla bit her tongue to refrain from visibly wincing, staring directly ahead instead of at her nephew, "No. I don't think he was. Not from what I can remember. Mostly I relied on Tommy and your dad growing up."
"What was my father like as an older brother? Am I like him?"
Kayla briefly grew quiet as they walked, pondering about how she could best word this to her oldest nephew. She tried seeing Jake in Neteyam, she really did, but whenever she tried comparing the teenager's best traits, they only remind her of Neytiri. And when Kayla thinks about Jake, all the pain and other torture he had put her through both intentionally and by accident, she couldn't even fathom Neteyam doing the same thing to his own siblings. Physically and mentally, deep down she knew that Neteyam was nothing like his father, and she was secretly grateful for that.
So instead of agreeing, Kayla simply smiled while staring the teenager in the eyes so he could see her sincerity, "No, 'Teyam. You're like Tommy. He was the older brother. When it comes to how you treat your siblings, you remind me of him, and I think your father sees it, too."
~~~~~~~~~
When Ronal isn't busy with her duties as tsahik or teaching Kayla, she is making sure Neytiri also adapts to their way of life. Although the former tsakarem had been comfortably accustomed to island life by the time her sister-in-law joined her family, Ronal still takes Neytiri into the jungle for a second pair of hands to gather the needed plants and herbs for her stock. Today was no different as the two women stumbled across a large jungle tree, larger than any of the others around them. Instead of following Ronal's suggestion to skip this tree and its healing fruits in exchange for a shorter one, Neytiri stops and shakes her head. Ronal was adamant about moving on since she was in no condition to climb and wasn't built to climb trees even if she wasn't currently pregnant.
Neytiri still shook her head in defiance and simply said, "You need Forest People."
The Forest woman opens her mouth and calls out at the top of her lungs, causing Ronal's ears to twitch in response to her whooping and cawing. Notifying her family about her location, it didn't take long for Jake, Kayla, and all the Sully children to come running to Neytiri's call.
Neytiri proudly smiles at her family while explaining why they had been summoned, "Our tsahik needs the fruit from the top of this tree and the ones surrounding it."
The others take a moment to look at one another before Kayla breaks the silence, briefly tapping Tuk's shoulder before running off, "'Last one to the top is a rotten egg!"
Tuk squeals and immediately chases after her aunt. The older Sully kids smile and break into fits of laughter, following suit and running after Kayla and their little sister. They all leap up, grabbing onto the lower branches before lifting themselves up, climbing expertly higher without their arms protesting the weight of their bodies. Ronal watched them climb higher and higher, keeping her expression stoic while observing the way Kayla makes the collecting and scavenging into a game for her nieces and nephews, challenging them to see who can gather the most fruit. In the corner of her eye, Ronal could still see Neytiri standing beside her, also watching the trees and smiling fondly up at her family. Jake soon stands beside his wife, hands on his hips while watching his sister and his children with a careful eye.
It was then did Ronal address Toruk Makto directly, flashing a face of disapproval, "Does your sister always act so childish?"
Jake's posture stiffens and he struggles to find the right words under the tsahik's watchful eye, "Well-! Uh..."
"No, only with the children," Neytiri answers for him, eyes hardened when they meet Ronal's as if daring her to speak again, "She plays with them because she wants to remind them that they are still just that. Children."
~~~~~~~~~
Kiri woke up bothered about something and everyone could tell. That girl didn't know how to hide her feelings no matter how badly she wanted to, the definition of an open book. Even though no one knew why she was upset, they could clearly tell that whatever it was, it had something to do with her aunt. Kiri wasn't necessarily cold to Kayla, but the teenager would go quiet and only speak in one-word responses whenever the older woman spoke directly to her.
Kayla decided that she needed to fix whatever was going on between herself and her oldest niece, so she offered to take the children out as the afternoon slipped into the evening. Neytiri suggested bringing them swimming through the reefs to collect barnacles and other underwater plants for tonight's supper, a passing time a lot of the villagers tend to do. Kayla takes up the idea and presents it to the Sully kids, who all agree to go, some more enthusiastic than others.
Tuk immediately splashes into the water and her brothers chase after her. Meanwhile, Kayla and Kiri linger on the beach, watching them disappear into the ocean. Kayla had tried breaking the tension with a small smile, "So when are you gonna show me how to use those underwater fairy wings?"
She was hoping for a small laugh or even a smile, but Kiri does neither. Instead, she looks sad and distracted, looking out over the horizon where the sky meets the sea, daydreaming of other lands... of home. Kayla bravely touches the girl's shoulder, and when Kiri looks up, her aunt could see the concern plain on her face. The avatar woman squeezes Kiri's shoulder, "What is it?"
Kiri bites the inside of her cheek before giving in, letting out a small sigh, "When are you going back to the forest?" She quickly understands how that could easily be misinterpreted and corrects herself, "It's just that-- you promised you'd look for Spider. And yet, you're here and he still hasn't been found yet."
Kayla relaxes both in posture and touch, removing her hand from Kiri's shoulder and instead letting it fall to her side, "I'll likely be gone by the end of the week, but for Norm's peace of mind, I'm going to be running a few tests on you so he and I both know you'll be okay," silence follows and Kayla reaches out once more, letting her hand gently grasp Kiri's arm, "Kiri, look at me."
The teen does so, a little belligerent at first. Upon staring up at her aunt, Kiri could see the determination in her eyes that closely matched Kiri's father's. Kayla tilts her head down to try and stand more at Kiri's height before softly explaining, "I haven't given up. And you might find it pointless to keep an eye on you after what happened, but I don't, and I don't think Spider would either. Think about it, kiddo. Spider would want us to make sure you're alright before we ever went looking for him."
Kiri ducks her head and watches her toe make shapes in the sand beneath her feet, "I know... but that doesn't mean I have to like it. He deserves to be put first for once."
Silence lingers between the two of them before Kayla simply says, "You're right."
Kiri doesn't wanna look up to see whatever expression was on her aunt's face. Instead, Kiri takes her arm and drags her to the water, "Come."
"'Where we going?"
"You said you wanted to learn how to use a txampaysye."
Kayla's nose scrunched up, testing the word on her tongue with bitterness, "How do you even spell that??"
Kiri manages to loosen up and laugh before they both held their breath and sank down into the water, sinking until they joined the rest of the Sully children. They introduce Kayla to txampaysye -gill mantle- and instruct her on how to use it in order to breathe underwater. Kayla wasn't far off. The gill mantles really did look like fairy wings, but other than maybe a few comments or stories, none of the Na'vi children would know what exactly a fairy was. The children and their aunt spend the evening doing as Neytiri suggested, gathering underwater plants and barnacles alongside other Metkayina, most of whom all wore the txampaysye. By the time the communal dinner rolled around, the Sully family was exhausted, but content all the same.
~~~~~~~~~
A peaceful morning where the Sullys invite Kayla over for breakfast goes uneventful until they're rolling up their nivi after a good night's rest. Their peace is interrupted by a horn, followed by whoops and hollers of celebration coming from outside. Confused and on edge, Jake and the kids emerge from the marui, looking around as the Metkayina jump around and dive into the water, making the newcomers curious as to what was going on.
Their answer came in the form of Tsireya, astride an ilu as she waved down her people from the water below their homes, "The tulkun have returned! Everybody! Our Brothers and Sisters have returned!"
Kayla looked up toward the atoll wall protecting the village from less docile nature. Emerging from the tunnels and pathways underneath the wall were rolling waves indicating something large below the water. Spurts of seaspray spring out like geysers from beneath the ocean's surface. It was a large pod of whale-like creatures, massive and slow. Their descent onto the village was graceful and one that brought much joy to the Metkayina as they couldn't get in the water fast enough.
The Sully kids couldn't wait either, jumping from the walkway around their home and into the water below. They scatter, exploring the new creatures one way or another. Tsireya had grabbed Lo'ak when she spotted him and pulled him onto her ilu, swimming away to introduce him to her Spirit Sister. Jake summoned his tsurak and both he and Neytiri take off to observe the sacred animals themselves. Rotxo had come around and pulled Kiri and Tuk away too, leaving Neteyam and Kayla to wander. Ao'nung was not far behind his friend, however, and invited Neteyam to come along with him to find his own Spirit Brother. Earning a small reassurance from his aunt, Neteyam doesn't hesitate to jump in and both teenagers each grab an ilu and take off, making a game of chase with Ao'nung in the lead.
Neteyam kept close to Ao'nung the entire time. The chief's son leads Neteyam through the chaos expertly, the two of them swimming quickly around a particular tulkun. Kiri, Tuk, and Rotxo were hanging onto the bull's fin and gliding peacefully through the water, the tulkun likely the reef boy's Spirit Brother. Neteyam was only able to catch a glimpse of this as they swim by, keeping close to Ao'nung's tail and playfully chasing him.
Jake had been leisurely swimming his skimwing through the maze of tulkun and Metkayina before glancing off to the side and perking up. Reaching back and tapping Neytiri's thigh to grab her attention, he waits until her eyes are on him before pointing out the sight he stumbled across. Following her husband's gaze and finger, Neytiri spots a mother tulkun and her calf, the smaller whale-like creature keeping close, mostly under its mother's fin or belly. Neytiri smiled with delight, her heart melting at the picture.
Kayla had been floating above the surface, watching the vast sight of tulkun from up top the back of an ilu she had successfully summoned. She didn't venture very far until the olo'eyktan sought her out. She noticed his tsurak first, flying above her head before gracefully sinking into the water, folding in its webbed fins. Tonowari brings it back around and swims up to Kayla's side, a determined smile on his lips, "We must put all that you learned to the test. Come meet my Spirit Brother and see how well you can understand and communicate with him."
She nods and dutifully follows him into the water after taking a deep breath. They submerge and take off, weaving through and around the large bodies of tulkun, dodging other ilu and Na'vi while Tonowari keeps his pace slow for Kayla's ilu to catch up. Underwater, Kayla can get a better look at the tulkun, and to her amazement, she realized that most of them were tattooed like their respective Na'vi. Eventually, they come across a large bull and Tonowari slows to a complete stop, disengaging from his tsurak and openly swimming the rest of the way to the heavily tattooed tulkun male. Kayla disengages from her ilu and watches it swim away before swimming in the same direction as the olo'eyktan, keeping a small bit of distance while he approaches the tulkun, greeting it like an old friend with a wide smile before gesturing Kayla to come closer.
When Kayla swims close enough to float near the large eye of the creature, Tonowari motions to the bull and makes rapid hand movements, "This Makayla te Suli tsmuke te Toruk Makto. She is of the Forest People and has come to learn our ways."
"Greetings, Makayla te Suli." The tulkun sings, and Kayla is delighted that she can understand him.
She quickly signs back, just as she had practiced, "I See you, great and mighty tulkun."
"Have you learned much since your arrival?"
"Yes, many things. I have excellent teachers in the olo'eyktan and the tsahik."
"Indeed. You are in good hands with my Brother and his mate. Ro'a speaks highly of her."
Curious, Kayla turns to the olo'eyktan in question, hands slowed by the water as she asks through the Metkayina sign language, "Is Ro'a Ronal's Spirit Sister?"
Tonowari nods while further explaining with his hands, "Yes, and I believe Ro'a has just given birth to her first calf."
"Indeed." The tulkun calls softly, the beautiful sound muffled in Kayla's ears like a song trying to pierce through cotton, "We are very proud and happy for our sister. What of Ronal's child?"
Tonowari beams, "Growing fast. Halfway there."
Kayla faintly smiles as her lungs begin to faintly burn, then quickly makes the appropriate hand motions to signal, "Forgive me. I need air."
She tilts her head upward and kicks her arms and legs to plunge up to the surface. Kayla immediately gasps for air the moment her head broke through the ocean waves, taking deep and calm breaths while looking around at all the joyous reunions going on around her. Laughter and cheers are still clinging to the approaching afternoon air, not a single Metkayina worried about the day's chores as they are too busy reacquainting themselves with their Spirit Brothers and Sisters. Kayla fondly watched these interactions, her heart warm and yet... sad as she watched the Na'vi swim around her without a care in the world. It's not as though she expected anyone to notice her, but it was a brief realization that today she was invisible and an outcast compared to these beautiful tulkun creatures. It was just another reminder that she didn't belong here and she had no Spirit Sister of her own, feeling out of place among an entire lagoon full of tulkun, Na'vi, tsurak, ilu, and other aquatic creatures.
Once she caught her breath, Kayla inhaled deeply and stuck her face back into the water to check out the activity going on beneath her treading feet. Looking around, she managed to catch a glimpse of a familiar Na'vi, a woman, adamantly communicating with her hands toward another tulkun, a female and her calf. Kayla recognized Ronal's ornaments that expressed her importance among the other Metkayina, along with her rounded belly. Without those traits, however, Kayla wouldn't have recognized her because the tsahik was smiling, broadly, unbothered by anything going on around her as she spoke to what had to be her Spirit Sister, Ro'a.
In all the weeks Kayla had been living here, she had never seen Ronal smile, let alone smile like that.

I imagine when Chai gets sick, he gets SICK. Chai can’t get out of bed because he’s hot and cold, body sweating, shaking, sore, and just feeling awful. The gang now has to take care of him: Korsica is researching on how to ease his sickness (maybe working on some emails to cancel some meetings Chai had as the ambassador), Peppermint berating him on taking care of himself while shoving a spoonful of warm soup in his mouth, Macaron desperately trying not to panic at his friend’s state (he probably made the soup), CNMN is…helping in his…usual way.
the universe (fanbase) just loves making this guy suffer
Chai wakes up groggy, sweaty, cold, and with his whole body aching. His nose is stuffed up and his throat is scratchy. The beat is crazy fast. He feels like he just ran a ten mile marathon, but he's still running even though it's over.
Coughing, his body jolts. He hates the fact that each one is in-time.
His first thought is goddammit. His second is I need a nap. Which is followed up by wait, I just woke up.
A beat passes.
Rolling over, he pulls the blanket up over his head and tries to go back to sleep.
Something fuzzy rubbing against his face wakes Chai up. He groans. Someone says something. He can't make out the words. But the voice is familiar. Probably Peppermint. The fuzzy thing disappears after a second.
"Chai? You awake...?" Peppermint asks.
He grumbles in response, too tired to form a coherent sentence.
"...I'll take that as a maybe."
A few beats pass.
Then, she says, "You're gonna have to, y'know, get up soon. Don't you have a meeting today?"
Does he? Chai really can't remember. His brain feels like it's full of bees. Or it's made of soup. Bee soup...
"Hello? Chai?" "Whuh?" "...Are you okay?" "Meh...m'fine...don' worry 'bout it," he mumbles.
About half a beat passes before Peppermint says, "So what you're saying is you're definitely not okay."
He frowns. "No...? S'not what I said...at all."
She sighs.
The fuzzy thing is suddenly back. This time it's rubbing against his arm—and meowing.
Oh. It's just 808.
He slowly opens his eyes and is greeted by the sight of Peppermint looking down at him, her arms crossed. Shifting, he looks down towards 808. Her glowing eyes and LEDs, paired with the light creeping in through the open door, make him squint and grimace. He shuts them again.
808 mewls, nuzzling into the crook of his elbow. With a fond huff, Chai wraps his arm around her and pulls her up toward him, nestling her against his chest. She starts purring a beat later.
Something touches his forehead. It quickly pulls away.
Peppermint mutters something. Then, she says, "You're definitely sick. You really need to take better care of yourself."
Chai has no idea what that's supposed to mean. He takes great care of himself. Eats, drinks, sleeps, showers, vibes...all the things you're supposed to do. Besides, she's one to talk! Need to take better care of myself...psh...
Him being sick doesn't have anything to do with how well he takes care of himself. He probably caught something during one of his concerts. Being around a huge crowd of people does that to you. Plus, there's been, like, a bunch of new human employees that he could've gotten sick from. Hmph. Need to take better care of myself...yeah, right.
"What're you muttering about?"
...Was he saying all that out loud?
...
Doesn't matter. He takes good care of himself, which is what does.
"...Hello? Earth to Chai?" "Nothin'. Don' worry 'bout it." "Bit late for that," she dryly replies.
With a sigh, she says something about 'calling for back-up' and breakfast. Chai hums in response.
He assumes the back-up is just a work-related thing.
As for breakfast...the thought of eating right now isn't super appealing. He'll get himself something later. Right now, he mostly just wants to go back to sleep.
So, rolling over, he cuddles 808 and tries to do just that.
The feeling of something cold and damp being placed on top of his forehead jolts Chai out of his slumber. He grunts, eyes fluttering open.
They widen when he's met with the sight of Macaron. There's a familiar anxious expression on his face. But he perks up a little when he notices Chai looking at him.
"Hey, little guy. How're you feeling?"
Everything aches. His mouth feels like it's full of sand, and his throat is itchier than a flea-covered dog. The entirety of his body feels disgusting. Sweaty and greasy and just overall horrible. He's cold and too hot. His stomach and head are starting to hurt. It's hard to breathe. The beat is so fast. Whatever song is playing is both too loud and too quiet. He's too tired to even guess the genre.
But he does feel slightly better than he did...however many hours ago. Just barely.
"Like dogshit," is what part of him wants to say. The truthful, exhausted, hurting part.
Instead, he croaks out, "Eh. Could be worse."
Macaron smiles weakly. Then, he turns away as he lets out a soft, "Oh!" When he turns back around, he's holding a mug and a glass of water. Steam is rising from the mug.
"Me and CNMN made you some soup," he explains as he gingerly sets them down on Chai's night stand. "It's just chicken noodle. Hope that's alright."
A memory of being sick in bed, eating Gram's homemade chicken noodle soup suddenly hits Chai, and he's left reeling for a few beats.
Shaking himself and sniffling, he slowly sits up. The wash cloth that was on his forehead falls off, onto his lap. It makes him realize that 808 is gone. Must've gotten sick of cuddling with his sorry ass. He frowns. Then, he huffs a laugh. Hah. Sick.
"Chicken noodle's great. Thanks, Mac," he replies, offering the best grin he can muster at the moment. It's ruined by a brief coughing fit.
"Of course! It's no problem."
Picking up the mug, Chai notices some bottles of medicine are also on the nightstand. There's a sticky note attached to one that reads, "Take two of each—WITH WATER!" It's signed by Pep. He smiles.
Turning his attention back to the cup, drinks some of the soup in it. Warmth quickly spreads through him. It doesn't quite taste like home—but it's close enough. Before he knows it, it's all gone.
His stomach stops hurting almost immediately. Now he wishes he had gotten up to eat earlier. Oh well.
Macaron's staring at him with wide eyes. "Good?"
"Amazing!" he replies. After a beat, he adds on, "I feel better already! Tell your co-chef I said thanks!"
He beams. "I'm glad. And you can tell them yourself—if you're feeling up to it. They're just out in the living area."
...It's probably about time he got up. Not only to see his friends, but also because he really needs to piss. Then, he can just take another nap on the couch and sleep the rest of this stupid...whatever he has away. Easy peasy.
"Gimme like...5 minutes." "Alright! See you in a few."
Showered, changed, bladder emptied, and medicine taken, Chai limps over to the couch where Peppermint, 808, Macaron, CNMN, and Korsica are all gathered.
When he'd first left his room and hurried into the bathroom, he hadn't even noticed Korsica. He's surprised to see her here. It's not the weekend, so she should definitely be at work. Actually...Macaron and CNMN should be, too. And probably Peppermint, but she works from home sometimes so her being here isn't that weird.
Wincing from his sore body, Chai plops down next to Peppermint. 808 immediately hops from her lap to his. He pats her on the head.
Then, he looks at Korsica and asks, "Shouldn't you be at work?" "...Hello to you, too, Chai," she says with a frown. "What? It's Tuesday! So it's a valid question!"
"It's actually Wednesday, Mr. Chai," CNMN pipes up. "And hello!" Oh. "Hey, CNMN. Thanks for the soup." "It's no problem, Mr. Chai! I'm glad you enjoyed it."
"As CNMN said, it's Wednesday," Korsica states after a beat, bringing his attention back to her, "but that's besides the point. I'm here because of you."
"...Why?" She blinks. "Because...you're my friend. And you're sick." "...So...?"
"...So I came to check up on you. Oh, and...I handled your meeting today for you. Same with some others you had this week. Just in case."
His eyes widen. "Oh. Thanks. You didn't have to do that." "I know. It's no trouble, really."
He looks toward the others after a beat.
"So, wait—you...all took the day off for me...?" "Sure did, little guy." "Yeah," Peppermint replies.
Chai's not really sure how to feel about that. There's a fuzzy feeling in his chest.
"...Thanks." "Of course!" "Sure."
Another beat passes.
His brow furrows. "Wait. How'd you guys even find out I'm sick?" "I told them," Peppermint states. "...So that's what the 'calling for back-up' thing was about!"
"Huh. I'm surprised you remember that—and that you even heard. I thought you had already passed out."
"Nah. I passed out right after." Peppermint huffs and smiles. "Of course."

How does it feel being stuck with Mr. Needlemouse, someone that embodies the ruthlessness of a cartoon character from the 40s/50s
Mr. Needlemouse: Hey, got another one over here! And it looks to be from my creator, too! Now, let's see... "How does it feel being stuck with..." Yeah, imma just toss this out-.
Mini Sonic: Hey, gimme that! We're not just turning down questions at random, especially not from a co-writer. Yo, guys! Got another question!
OMT!Mina: Sweet! Now, let's see... @mcgamejolter asks... Hey, that's one of the co-writers of our adventures. "How does it feel being stuck with Mr. Needlemouse, someone that embodies the ruthlessness of a cartoon character from the 40s/50s?" And a hastily-stuck-on "#ask the blur gang" as well.
D-Sides Mighty: You know, he's got a good point. How come we're stuck with this trouble-loving maniac?
Mr. NM: Hey! What was that about me?!
Mini Sonic: Yeah, no kidding. Would you believe he just told me to do the sacrifice to shut down Nega's energiser instead of being selfless about it like the rest of us?
Mr. NM: Look, I'd rather live on causing chaos back in my dimension than be stuck in a world where my abilities only cause humiliation! Ya can't fault me for not being selfless!
CR!Sonic: Being selfless is a core part of being a hero, Needlemouse. Even a cartoon should know that.
OMT!Tails: Alright, alright. Let's not cause any in-fighting right now. I kinda don't like having him strung around any more than anyone else here, though he's mainly here for the free chilli dogs, even if they might not taste the same as they do back home for him.
Mr. NM: Heard that one right! Am I a useless asset? Sure! Heroic qualities? None. But I'm loyal if you feed me, and I'll never leave you because... well, I need the food.
OMT!Mina: I mean, why couldn't we have had the Sonic from Dimension AO-1992 on board with us in our first quest?
OMT!Tails: Oh! What if Wacky was there with us on our first crusade?
Wacky: Oh?
OMT!Tails: Yeah. It would've made us a gender-equal ensemble right from the get-go!
Wacky: Remind me what the first multiversal quest here was about to me.
CR!Sonic: Simple summary; Eggman Nega built a huge device that catapulted five of us from other dimensions over to Tails's one. I wasn't inclined with being his mentor after all the stuff that happened in my universe, but I got time to think, and I wasn't gonna let that world go unprotected if Tails wasn't ready to protect it. Even if I did want to stay behind to do the act myself...
CR!Sonia: Woah... You told me about it at breakfast one morning!
CR!Sonic: Yep! That's the adventure I went on before you and Manik came into the world, my little adventurer!
Wacky: One journey before I joined the crew, heh.
Mr. NM: How come I wasn't invited to your second multiversal mayhem? I could've levelled all the guys easily!
Hog: My guess is that the wave never reached your dimension, what with it being all cartoon and such.
Wacky: And as for my end? The wave kicked out Bizarro from my body and meant I didn't have to keep my eyes shut to block them out anymore.
Mr. NM: Possession poschmession! Cartoons can't get possessed by supernatural entities!
EX!Alice: And do we have to remind you about the case involving Lilith Rose?
Mr. NM: Er, nah.
EX!Alice: Yeah, that's what I thought.
BK!Amy: Yeah, Adventures Sonic would definitely have made a great fit for the role if he could. Cartoon-like, AND has inherited some pain in his life before.
Nitro: Yeah, I got a message that he was considered for Ham's role before being swapped out with NM, for whatever reason.
Mr. NM: I got a contract to follow assigned by my creator first-hand. It's only fair!
Nitro: Eh.
Mr. NM: What? I'm here for a role, and I'm gonna fulfil it! Don't judge me for it.
CR!Sonic: As long as you keep causing chaos for laughs? ...Yeah, we'll judge you for it.
Mr. NM: Oh, come on!
CR!Manik: Let's cut this off here before things get more hectic.
CR!Sonia: Yeah. Thanks for the question, MCStudio!

Summary: Matt lied to you for went out on a mission with his ex, elektra.
Contains: Swearing, alcohol, kisses, arguments and fluff;)
word count: 3k
Tumblr media
Most couples built their healthy relationship based on trust, no matter how different their life nor personalities are. As long as they can trust each other, it'll work.
Trust is so fragile you won't need to smash it like some wine bottles in order to break it. All it takes is a simple form of words, a lie.
Me and Matt could made our relationship worked all these years because we trust each other, I've seen the most vulnerable part of himself and vice versa. He never lie to me because he's not the biggest fan of being lied either. With his gift, the words "lie" didn't really exist in our dictionary.
Matt wouldn't lie as long as he thinks it's safe for me to acknowledge it. But he's being reckless, yesterday he said he needs to work overtime, but the first thing i found this morning is this red shade of lipstick mark on his white collar shirt that he had worn last night.
I try to kept my morning mood goin on and ignore what i just found, i throw the shirt away to the laundry basket. But i know i need to talk to him sooner or later. Matt's still asleep peacefully in the bedroom, and I'm keeping myself busy making noise from the kitchen while preparing breakfast.
I guess I wasn't really good at burying my emotion when something's bothering me. It wasn't taking long for Matt to wake up because of how i intentionally making loud noise with smashing furniture inside the kitchen.
"Morning Sweetie." Matt greet me with his morning voice and bed face.
"Morning sleepyhead, you're hungry?" I ask with my dummy smile.
"Yeah, absolutely." He answered while scrunching his eyebrows, he noticed something's wrong but still too early for him to figure it out, it's 7am.
"I'm making an omelette, It'll be ready in a second." I continue.
"Smell's good, I'll take shower first." He say as walking back to the bathroom.
My head is so full of thoughts, it cannot stop wonder about that mark. I mean, what could've happened? Did he get drunk? Or probably he didn't even notice someone gave his shirt that mark? Or is it anything else?
It's already agitate my heartbeat when i see him. And I'm pretty sure he had noticed it already.
I sit still at the table while waiting for Matt, breakfast already served for two with cup of coffes. Our chairs is facing each other at the round table. He walks in with only his sweats on, towel hanging around his neck, wiping his freshly washed hair. His smell flow across the room. But this time, i wasn't amused.
We ate breakfast together quietly without me being the conversationalist, it felt awkward.
"Are you okay?" He question me breaking the silence.
"Why wouldn't i be." I answered with my cocky tones.
"I don't know, you've been quiet." He continues putting the meal into his mouth.
"Well how do you like the breakfast?" I tries to disprove him immediately.
"It's great, but you didn't answer my question." Matt replies calmly.
"What question?" My aggravation had grown it affects the tone of my voice.
"Are you okay, y/n?" He made his articulation to be more clear as possible.
"I don't know Matt, are you." I replies sarcastically. I don't want to tell him I'm okay because i am not.
"Y/n.., quit playing around, something's bothering you and i don't know what is it. Unless you could just tell me" He continues, more serious this time.
I take a sip from my glass of coffee "I don't want to fight you, so I'll keep playing.."
Matt chuckled unpleasantly "What's with the attitude, huh?" He remain calm while I barely want to look him in the eye.
"Oh, you wanna talk about attitude? I'm not the one who came home last night with stained red lipstick on their collar shirt." And it slipped out of my tongue sooner than i thought it would.
He looked so confused and kept scrunching his eyebrows. "What do you mean?"
What do you mean?, thats the best he got? no shit.
"Where were you last night?" I continue to confront him.
"I went to a party, for devil's work." Matt replies
I'm getting more upset as he open his mouth
"Is that the truth?" i questioned.
"Yes." He answered shortly.
"With whom?"
"Elektra." He didn't even hesitate to mentioned the name.
"Elektra as in your ex?" I am so confused of why did he remains calm.
"Yeah, we worked together and sneak into rich's people party last night. It was all only for gathering evidence because we both have common enemy, The Hand." Matt replies.
Of course that statement is convincing because I didn't see a way he could lie about that, but still he's missing the bigger picture here.
"Alright then, elaborate the kiss mark."
"It was just a set up, we need to escape because we're almost busted." Matt affirm.
"And a set up doing what exactly, Matthew?" I was desperately need him to admit what he have done with putting him in the corner.
Matt took a deep breath as if he prepared before something will probably blowing up.
"We have to pretend like a drunk couple having their time in the restricted room at the party, we actually got the files that we needed."
I chuckled sarcastically and quote back his word "Drunk couple huh"
He lift another fork of an omelette bite-sized onto his mouth. "Come on, y/n. There's no way you've spent your morning just to be upset about this." He continue.
I scrunched my eyebrows "Why do you think I'm upset with you, Matt?"
"You probably think i cheated, or maybe you're upset because i went out with my ex for a mission." He simply answer.
"What? That's so low of me for you to define!" I denied all of his false accusations for my feelings.
"Then why are you upset?" He locked his head as if staring into the soul of eyes.
"You lied to me." I shortly answered.
"You could've just said something like Hey, i need to go out with my ex tonight on some holy mission, see ya later" I continue mimicking his voice.
"But instead you tell me lies, why?" I asked
"Gosh, because i knew you would've overreact like this!" Matt putting down the silverware that was on both of his arms.
"I wouldn't react like this if you just told me the truth, was it so difficult?"
Matt shakes his head in frustration "I don't want to stress you for the rest of the night knowing i was out with my ex very late, even if it was just for a mission. Beside, the whole sex play was her idea and we didn't even have the chance to discuss about it, she just like "kiss me" and then pull me onto her harshly."
It disgust me hearing the last sentence. "Ugh, I don't even ask for the details. It's not the stain I'm upset about, it's you who've lied."
"It was a harmless lie" Matt seek for justification on behalf of his actions.
"It wouldn't be harmless if you hurt my feelings, since when you learned telling lies to me?" I kept pushing to made him feel sincere, but he's not.
"That was one time, okay." Matt continue to convince himself and me that he did nothing wrong.
I chuckles "I actually wondered what else you've been lying to me about."
He grunts "For Christ's sake, we would've been cought if she hadn't made that sudden move, I would've been cought, and worst scenario, I would've been held as a hostage. Is that your wish for me?"
I wasn't expecting him to go with a guilt trip like that, but that's not even Matt i know whom i had a conversation with. I'm not sure what went wrong, but his mind isn't in the best shape.
I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion, what he said is practically just out of the character.
"Of course not, why would i wish you for that."
"You have to understand my situation first in order to have more rational feelings over your anger towards me." Matt persist
"Well this is getting more complicated than it has to be, I'm not angry, just upset that you have lie to me." My emotion was so built up that it'll easily blow if i hadn't been careful with my words.
"Are you?" Matt ask doubting my statement.
"Yes!" I raise my voice lightly
Matt flinched a little and took another deep breath "I'm sorry then." He apologize.
I can't even tell if he's sincere about that apology; he can't just invalidate my feelings easily and put his big ego straight on the table before apologizing. He just wanted to end the argument that he himself had prolonged.
I stare at him with dissatisfaction. It's not that I don't trust him; in fact, I have always trusted him, and nothing has ever been able to shake my faith in him for years. But the way he behaved this morning, the way he delivered his argument, and how he still tried to excuse his actions easily cracked those foundations.
The awkward silence at the apartment while us still sitting across the table broke when my cellphone suddenly rings. It was Claire Temple calling me.
I picked up the phone that i had put on the other side of the table.
"Hello. Claire?" i put the phone to my right ear
"Good morning, y/n. I'm sorry to disturb your weekend." She greets
"Morning too, how can i help you?"
"We really need your presence at the hospital, there's no other doctors available at the time."
"Where's doctor Enzo?" i asked
"He needs to the leave town this morning, his brother got into a car crash." Claire continues.
"Oh, i see. Sure, i can cover him today. I'll be there in thirty minutes."
"Thank you doc, I'll see you soon."
"My pleasure." I end up the phone call
I get up and leave from the table without saying any words to Matt, pretty sure he had acknowledge where i need be. I showered and change my clothes immediately so i could leave the apartment as soon as i can.
A lot of things differs me with Matt, but we had one thing in common; silent treatment. If the two of us were in a great mood, we'd discuss how communication is important and we need to solve our problem like an adults.
But when it comes to the moment like this, we get angry and upset towards each other. We get selfish and prefer silence to grounded each other.
•••
Nine hours of shift passes quickly, i kept myself busy to avoid those unhealthy thoughts i had in mind after arguments. For the first time i didn't really get excited when my shift almost finished, i didn't get excited to head back home.
I stopped by at the Josie's to have a few booze, i thought it'd be a great idea to spend some time alone, i took a few sip while stare blankly at the news.
"That must've been a tough shift." Claire says.
I looked back and found Claire approaching me. She seated herself comfortably beside me.
I smile lightly seeing her "Never thought I'd see you here."
"What can i say, it's saturday night." She smiles
"A vodka, please" She waives at josie.
"Strong choice." I encourage her
"Oh trust me, this is one of my lightest choice." We're both chuckles
"What are you doing here all alone, where's Matt?" Claire continues after taking a shot from her vodka.
"I don't know, probably listening to this conversation currently."
Claire just chuckled "Classic."
"Yeah"
I get back to minding my own business. She had notice me keep stare blankly while inside my glass.
"Not a fan of weekend shift, are ya?" She continues to have another conversation with me.
I tilt my head to the left staring at her
"Nah, that's the least of my problems." I smile.
"Glad to know that, is everything okay?" She ask
"Sure, why wouldn't it be." i answered.
"Between You and Matt?" She continues.
I sigh "Well you know, those two can get difficult sometimes.".
"Look, I know we're not that close. I'm practically in no position to ask you this, but what have he done this time." She says.
"Doesn't really matter to be honest, just Matt being Matt and went out with someone for a mission who's apparently was his ex." I say as i took another sip from my glass
"Oh and did i mentioned he lied about it first, and then admit after got caught red handed."
Claire chuckled nonchalantly "That bastard." She jokes and then went silent as she observe my facial expression
"Are you actually upset about it?" She asked.
I flinch in confusion to her "What, you take it as a joke?"
"Well i wouldn't surprised because it's Matt." She continues.
"Don't take it too serious, y/n . It'll just pain your mind." Claire giving advice while half drunk.
I couldn't stand any more invalidation statement towards my feelings, enough is enough. I'm already hurt and nothing could reverse it.
"Thanks, Claire. Appreciate it." I put the bills down and walk immediately to leave the bar with claire behind.
•••
I walk down the street so aggressive and smashing every footsteps i took with my sneakers. I lower my head as if it was the heaviest thing i can carry from thoughts.
"The hell, what is everyone's deal against me today!" I mumble to myself
As much as i hate to, i need to go home; to Matt's flat. I have agreed to moved in long time ago, so i need to face this kind of situation like an adult. Even though it didn't get any easier, but I'll face it.
I raise my wrist to see the time, and damn. It's seven already. I waste two hours at the bar, glad claire stopped me from getting more drunk.
fifteen minutes passed from my walk, i arrived in front of the building. I figured it might cleared my mind to take a walk instead of a cab.
I was upset enough earlier to left the apartment without having the spare key with me. So i knocked the door whilst calling Matt's name. No answer. I check the door handled and turn out it wasn't locked.
"Matt?" I call out once again
I observe the place long enough to realize nobody's home. He didn't locked the door after leaving.
I locked the door and hang my coat. I put my purse onto the table and untie my hair, putting all my work clothes away. I grabbed my bathrobe to take a shower immediately.
••
When i left the bathroom, Matt's already there, sit by himself on the couch. The curtains wasn't closed, purple lights from the building across the street radiating on his pensive face. He looked emotionless, and empty.
He still wearing that tight black shirt and a boxer, the red devil suit scattered all over the floor right below the stairs. I figured he used the balcony entrance to get in.
Walking to the kitchen, i grab myself some water. "Sorry i locked the front door, was about to took a shower." I declare to him,
"Yeah, i left it unlocked for you. I knew you forget to grab the key this morning." He grunts walking towards the bathroom.
I drink my water and didn't really reply to Matt's word, i walk towards the bedroom to get myself ready for bed. Put on my beauty products step by step, and then my hair vitamin. I curl my hair occasionally before bed to keep the wavy hair i liked. i turn on my curling iron and carefully grab a few part of my hair.
"Fuck!" I grunted.
I accidentally burn my right shoulder with a curler. This barely ever happened before. What the hell do i have in mind.
The curler was flaming hot, it stings and leave a red bruise. I stare at my reflection from the mirror and tries to touch the burned area with my fingers. It make me hissed in pain.
I ran myself to the bathroom, it was locked because Matt still in there.
I knocked the bathroom door spontaneously "Matt open up, i need to use the sink."
He unlocked the door and i hurry myself to the sink, i turned the faucet on to have it splashed onto the burned area in my shoulder. it was mostly dominated by the back area so i have trouble reaching it by myself.
"What happened?" He confuse.
"I burned myself, it's nothing." I reply.
He scrunched his eyebrows. "How?"
"With a goddamn curler, Matt. Now if you'll excuse me." I tried to pat dry the wounds after washing it. I open the mirror cabinet to grab some antibiotics cream.
Matt sighed "C'mon let me help you." as he walk towards me.
"I'm fine." I said defensively. But he didn't backed up, not a single step.
He gently tries grab the antibiotics that's already in the palm of my hand. I remain stubborn and refuse to let him took it.
Matt standing behind me, he determined to let him assist me. "Look at me." He says with low voice close to my left ear.
I persist to push him away and keep my head down.
"Im tougher than you think." I whisper.
He nods "I know you are." his arm holding my left wrist, expecting me to let go.
"I can take care of myself." i declared without glancing at his face at all.
"You have." He says. "You still do. You always will. I've just joined in, too. Now we take care of each other." He gently stroke my left arm that holding the antibiotics.
I took a deep breath, I can't bare hearing his pleading voice.
"Please, just let me." He said whilst stare at me deeply.
I let go of my palm and let him took the antibiotics.
I stare at our reflection in the mirror, Matt move my hair and tuck it to my left shoulder so he could spread the antibiotics on my right shoulder. He was fresh out of the shower. Hair still wet, and towel hanging around his waist. I notice a fresh bruises around his chest, it wasn't looking really good.
"I'm sorry i hurt your feelings, y/n. I shouldn't have lied in the first place." He whispered as gently spread the cream with his finger.
"I've had my time to think, and i am madly in love with you, y/n. I love you so much. I'm so sorry if you ever doubt that because of my poor behavior." He declared.
He sighs "And i must admit, i hate it when you're trying to be defensive around me. I've seen hell, and that's just worse. It's the worst kind of punishment i could get from anyone, especially you." He continue as all the burned wound around my back shoulder already covered in layer of antibiotics.
Matt lean on the wall Infront of him, next to mirror. We stand across each other. His fingers slowly stroking my hair "You're the most incredible and independent woman I've ever met. And whenever we're able to be our true self around each other, to be vulnerable. It felt safe to me, because i knew we can always count on each other."
His thumb moved and gently brushing my cheeck "So just please. If i make another mistake in the future, talk to me. Or punish me however you like to. But i beg you, don't go with all this defensive action. It made me felt like a stranger around you."
I can tell how sincere he is about the apologize this time, those eyes could never lied to me. His tone is so soothing to hear. And he actually have his point this time. Matt always been the one who will acted first everytime we've had an arguments. Even when i was wrong, I'll keep my way of silence, but he'll always be the one who finds a way to break it. He couldn't bare if there's any distance between us and neither do i. But for me, it's always my ego that keep getting bigger, and never my heart.
Without my realization, a tears drop from my eye. "I - i'm so sorry." I stutter.
His thumb wiped my tears softly "It's okay. You did nothing wrong" He whisper.
I drop my head down. I tries to wipe all the tears myself that can't stop falling through my eyes. "You're always so kind to me, i don't understand." i sniffled.
"Oh honey." Matt whisper whilst clutching me into his arms. His shoulder were wide enough to cover my body. "Save yourself the suspense. You always been the one who can take a good care of me, okay?"
I lean into his chest. He stroke the back of my hair gently. He move his hands to cup both of my cheeks and gently lift my face to meet his eyes.
I sniffles as he keep wiping my tears, staring into his hazel eyes. Oh god, he is so enamored with me, and i am enchanted to him.
"Shh, it's okay. We're cool." He whispered
I burst into small chuckle "We're cool?" I repeated.
He smile softly "Yeah, we're cool. Right?"
"Yeah i think we're cool." i smile widely with my teeth.
"Okay, cool then." He kiss my cheeks alternately.
"Matt?" i mumble.
"Yeah?" he whispered
"Can i ask you questions?" I say softly.
"How long have you been practicing those paragraphs?" i continue jokingly.
He laughs "Long enough, it get me these bruises." he pointed at his chest
I gasps sarcastically "So that's how it happened! I wondered how could you get hit in that area." I glance at his chest and tries to put my fingers on the bruise.
"Is it painful?" I asked
"Ouch!" He yelled and flinched sarcastically, it was unexpected and startled me out.
I slap him jokingly. Then i kissed him passionately. My hands hang around his neck and his hands intensely stroking my waist.
"It's a prove of how much control you had over me." Matt teasing me.
I attack him with another kisses on the lips.
"Please don't ever get hit on your chest again." I look again at the bruise. It abstractly marked like a someone's fist right near his heart placed. He never took a hit from his chest area because his hand could always blocked it. And i made sure to remind him how fatal getting punched in the chest could turned out. Heart attack, cardiac arrest, you name it.
"I mean look" I pointed the bruise. "that's way too close to your heart."
He sighs "Sorry baby, I'll made sure that'll be the last time someone get to punch me in the chest. It was his lucky day."
I chuckles. "And how did you get punched, again?"
"Well, you've been on my mind all day. So i think going out and punch a few bad guys will distract me. But turns out, i can't focus, you haunt me." He smile warmly as if it didn't bother him.
"Make sense." I kiss him once again on the lips and slowly moving down to his chest. "Can we go to the bedroom now? I'll give you a massage."
Matt smiles again so delightful. "Sure."

A Hallmark Christmas
Summary: Regina struggles with her holiday spirit in the aftermath of Season 5 and finds comfort in the made-for-TV movies she used to mock. One night she makes a wish on a Christmas star for her own Hallmark Christmas movie happy ending and finds herself getting seven...or maybe more? [OQ AU]
Chapter 1: FFN | AO3 | Wattpad
Interlude #1
FFN | AO3 | Wattpad
Excerpt:
Regina woke up, once again in her bed. She sat up, wondering if this was another movie or something else. Pushing her blankets back, she padded over to the door and opened it. Looking down the hallway, she called out: "Hello?"
"Mom?" Henry called back from downstairs. "I'm in the kitchen."
She walked down the stairs, recognizing the house as her own. As she entered the kitchen, she found Henry eating some cereal. He smiled at her. "Good morning," he said.
"Good morning," she replied. "You're home early."
"No," he said, grinning. "You slept late."
Regina frowned, looking up at the clock. Surprise coursed through her as she realized it was after eleven AM - it was closer to lunch than breakfast. It had been years since she had slept so late and wondered how tired she had been the night before.
Henry tilted his head. "Are you okay, Mom? You still look tired."
"Oh," she said, though she wasn't sure if she should be surprised. Her rather detailed dream hadn't felt very restorative. So she just shrugged. "I guess I didn't sleep as well as I thought or hoped."
"You didn't fall asleep on the couch again, did you?" he asked, sounding concerned.
Embarrassed that he knew about that and was calling her out on it, she shook her head. "I fell asleep in bed."
He nodded. "Is it Roland?"
"What?" she asked, surprised.
"You seemed sad after the show," he said. "And I realized that the kindergarteners went last, which would've been Roland's class. So I was wondering if you had been thinking of him."
Regina sighed, nodding. It was the truth, after all. "I was. I miss him."
"I do too," Henry replied. He looked anguished as he asked: "Do you think if I hadn't tried to destroy magic, he would still be with us?"
She frowned, sitting next to him. "What do you mean?"
"Well, the main reason the Merry Men left when they did was because magic was so unstable and everyone who wanted to return to the Enchanted Forest wanted to go before they were stuck here forever," he said. "And when they left, you were on your way to stop me. Which makes me wonder that if you were here and the threat of magic going away wasn't there, would you have been able to convince the Merry Men to stay? Or at least to let you keep Roland?"
Regina had also wondered what would've happened if she had been in town or if the others hadn't been in such a rush to leave Storybrooke. And though it pained her, she knew that it likely would've ended up the same way - just that Regina could've said goodbye to Roland herself and accepted his gift rather than Zelena being the middleman.
She took Henry's hand. "Robin and I…well, we never discussed his wishes. There was never any time and maybe even after what happened in Camelot, I was too scared to have that conversation because it could make the chance of losing him become a reality."
"Okay," Henry said, sounding confused.
"So I don't know if Robin would've wanted Roland to stay with me," she said. "I had to defer to the Merry Men, who would've known Robin's wishes better. And they already raised Roland from a baby with him. They know him best."
Henry nodded, though he didn't look too convinced. "I guess."
"I believe we will see him one day," she said, though her heart constricted as she feared it was a fool's hope. "Our goodbye wasn't forever."
"I know," Henry replied, trying to smile. "I just miss him."
Regina walked closer and wrapped her arms around him, holding him close. "I know. I miss him too."
They hugged each other for a little while longer before she pulled back. "I'm going to change and then make myself some breakfast. When I'm done, we'll do whatever you want."
"Anything?" he asked, raising both eyebrows as he gave her a cheeky smile.
Realizing that she likely wouldn't like what he was thinking of, she added: "Within reason."
He chuckled, nodding. "Alright."
"Good," she said, kissing his cheek. "I'll be right back down."

Ruthless
Chapter 7
I was in the bathroom putting my hair up in a bun.
"Hey, I'm Gabriella Naveen, but you probably already know that since you read the beginning hopefully you did," I said, finally getting my hair how I wanted.
"Just in case you didn't, let me summarize for you. See, I used to be a pro talent boxer but decided to retire because my husband is tired of seeing me risk my life, so he encouraged me to get a new job where I became a teacher. Little did he know I'm also living a double life as an assassin who's teaching high schoolers how to become assassins. "That's about it," I explain, and then go downstairs.
"Hey, Gabby, where are you? Oh, okay, good, I made breakfast if you want," Nathan says, and I sit on the chair with hearts in my eyes.
"Living with the perfect husband is awesome, especially since perfect in my book is a guy who can cook," I said, starting to eat the french toast he made for me.
"You won't be getting much of that from me, because you're probably not going to see me when you wake up," Nathan says, checking the time.
"Bye, love you," Nathan says, leaving immediately.
I look at the missing figure in fear of hearing those words.
"No more good food?" "Only my cooking... NOOOO!" I said and finished the last of the french toast, savoring its flavor before leaving.
"Having to take buses is tiring. I just want to go back to sleep. I can't wait for Saturday and Sunday," I said to myself, but
Once I arrived to school, I never realized how early it was.
"Why did I leave in such a hurry, it's 7:40, and I have literally 20 minutes?" I asked myself and became even more tired.
As I put my head down because I'm about to fall asleep, someone knocks on my door.
"Hey, Mrs. Naveen, here is the attendance folder." Someone says, and he looks to be Asian.
"Oh, Mr. Parks, long time no see," I said, waking up but not fully.
"Mrs. Naveen Yes, it has been a long time. "Nice to see one of Danville's high school sweethearts are still together," Mr. Park says.
"So Sam, you're a nurse at this school?" I was intrigued by him.
"Yes, indeed, I also do some after-school medical lessons just like you," Mr. Park says, and some kid enters.
"Wow, Mrs. Naveen, you do tutoring after school. I could use some." The boy says, and Olivia slaps the back of her head.
"Good save," I mouthed towards him, and she accepted the compliment.
"Shut up, you only want her to tutor you so you can be your usual perverted self around her. Your lucky she hasn't seen the pictures," Olivia says, and I fully wake up.
"Pictures?" I said I was surprised and almost lost my high-pitched voice.
"Aye, Ollie, you know you shouldn't hurt boys, especially ones who are learning," Mr. Parks says.
"You see, this is why Mr. Parks is so cool," the boy says.
"I mean, the boy is probably still learning how to grow chest hair and upper lip hair, so let the boy learn," Mr. Parks says, then me. Olivia and most of the class laugh at him.
"For all you know, I could have alopecia, and you could've just done Chris Rock," the boy says.
"Well, guess what, G. "I Joe should have been going out there and helping out Jane," Mr. Parks says, and I chuckled.
The two took their seats while I was hooting with laughter.
"Gotta go," Mr. Parks says.
The rest of the school day was boring until we began assassination classes.
"Okay people, when using a gun, specifically a pistol, I want you all to learn that--" I was interrupted when I saw Sam enter the room in very mature clothes.
"Hey, um, sorry to inform you so late, but there are some people who are not aware of our work coming in, and one of them is your husband," Sam explains, and I was shocked.
"Okay, Gen Z's I need you all to act like this is a small class and put the tables back. "Courtney, you won't mind?" I asked, and she rolled her eyes.
There were a bunch of tables behind them that I moved because we needed that room for training and couldn't find any other free room.
Once Courtney was done placing the tables and chairs, they sat down.
"Hey Sam, can you somewhat stall him if he comes?" I asked him as if I had asked; I was practically begging him.
He nods and stands outside, closing the door behind him.
"Wait a minute, where's Charlie?" Courtney asks
"Wherever Austin and Dallas are," Daniella says.
"Austin and Dallas haven't arrived at the training sessions, and it's been almost two weeks since we started," I said and sat in a chair.
"Well, they have rich families, so they can do whatever they want." "You know I should really date one of them, or both, because they could boost my YouTube channel," Penelope says, checking her nail and looking at them with a satisfied face.
I started biting my nails waiting for him and hoping they don't meet up.
As I see Charlie walk in his joyful mood like always, I met eyes with my husband right before Charlie closed the door.
"SON OF A BITCH!" Someone tells outside of the door
I noticed that Charlie closed the door on his tail.
I run to the door and open it.
"Is your tail okay?" I'm so sorry for what my student did. "Are you okay?" I asked, worried about him, and started rubbing his tail.
Nathan takes his tail back.
"You know you're not supposed to rub my tail; it makes me feel weird," Nathan says, and I just hug him.
"Hey, Nate, why aren't you wearing a shirt?" Sam asked, is she still there?
I looked at him and noticed that he only had a lab coat on.
I blushed profusely at the fact that I was leaning against his chest.
"Hey Gabbie, what's the wifi password?" Penelope asked and then looked up.
Penelope pretty much falls in love with Nathan and starts sending out poisonous gas immediately.
"Penelope, stop," I said and started coughing.
"Can you please stop whatever you're doing and stop hurting my wife?" Nathan asked politely.
"Wife? With this thing? Men need to get better taste," Penelope says and walks away, sucking up the poison again.
"Oh god," Sam says, and starts covering up his face with a mask.
"Hey watch it, my wife is the most amazing person in the world. I'm glad to be blessed by God with someone like her," Nathan says, and I get back up due to how cute he is.
"Wow, he really is handsome," Olivia says, and she blushes a bit.
"Yeah, and so what? I don't need my girl gushing over some guy," Daniella says, and Olivia chuckles.
"There's no need to be jealous." Olivia teases, and Daniella crosses her arms.
"Shut up," Daniella says.
Courtney looks at Nathan, then at Kent, then at Nathan, then at Kent again, and hugs Kent.
"I choose you." Courtney says she's hugging him, but Kent didn't even hear what she said, so he continues watching his video while rubbing her arm.
"Listen, I don't understand what y'all find attractive about this man, who probably looked like crap before he got that swimsuit model body," Rubiana says and rolls her eyes.
"No need to be jealous just because you can't get a man," Olivia teases.
"Or woman," Daniella says, adding on to the teasing.
I'm surprised people like my hubby this much—who wouldn't have hard rock abs, a handsome face, a nice personality, and to top it all off, an amazing ass?
It's so surprising that he never looked this way.
"I'm surprised that you're blushing just by looking at my body, especially since we've seen each other naked," Nathan says, and everyone looks at them.
"Keep y'all's dirty fantasies to yourselves," Daniella says.
"We're both virgins," Nathan says loud and proud, and I definitely knew he was making fun of me.
"Still?" Sam asked, surprised.
"Okay Daniella, is there some way we can have a three-way with that man?" Olivia whispers.
"Ollie, you're disgusting, plus I'm lesbian, so that only works in your favor," Daniella says and looks at Olivia with a disgusted face, and she just shrugs.
"Olivia "I can hear you," Sam says, and Olivia looks at him with a terrified face.
Yep, my husband is both a chick magnet and annoying, and he's also adorable.

"Do we have to go to work?" I mumble tiredly as Blake shut off his alarm clock.
"If we don't want to be fired, yes," Blake responded and turned to face me. "Besides, you love work, so I don't see what the problem is."
"The problem is that I'd have to leave this bed," I declare. "And my favorite person just so happens to also be here."
Blake smiled and leaned down to press a quick kiss to my lips. "As much as I'd love to stay here with you all day, we do have to get ready."
"Ugh," I groan and sit up. "Fine." I quickly changed into some of my clothes that I left at Blake's apartment, and once we were both ready, we left to get to work. And after about two hours at the firehouse, I realized something I somehow hadn't noticed the past few days.
"Hey, Y/n," Matt greeted me as I entered the break room. "What's up?"
"Have you seen Blake?" I ask and glance around.
"Gallo? Uh, I think him and Ritter were on the app floor," Matt told me.
"Great. Thank you," I say and head off towards the apparatus floor to find my boyfriend. I found him standing next to Truck 81, staring out the closed garage doors. I frowned and followed his gaze, not seeing anyone or anything outside, but ignored that and walked over to him, wrapping my arms around him from behind. "Hey, Blake. What are you looking at?"
"N-nothing," Blake stuttered and turned around to face me, pulling to against his chest. "What's up?"
"I realized something like twenty minutes ago that somehow both of us seemed to forget. It wasn't until I saw the snow outside and all of the decorations up around the firehouse that I realized it's our first Christmas together," I inform him.
"I didn't even....how did we both forget?" Blake quizzed.
I shrugged. "I don't know. We've been so busy between work and stuff, so maybe that's why."
"Well, Merry early Christmas," Blake wished me and kissed me.
"Oh, I also wanted to remind you that it's your turn to cook breakfast for everyone today. The Squad guys are already congregating in the kitchen, and I'm getting a bit hungry myself. Maybe you could make pancakes," I propose.
"I will get right on it," Blake confirmed and released his grip on my waist. "I'll see you in there."
As Blake made his way towards the kitchen, I turned back to the garage doors, curious as to what Blake could have been staring at earlier. But just like before, I didn't see anything, so I just shrugged it off. He could've just been daydreaming or lost in thought. My stomach then growled, telling me that it was time to eat, and with that, I began to walk to the break room to wait for breakfast.
.............................................
"Y/n, hey!" Stella shouted and jogged over to me as I was approaching my car. "All of us were thinking about going to Molly's to hang out. You want to come?"
"Uh, sure," I reply. "I've just got a few things to do at my apartment, but I should be there within the hour."
"Great. See you there," Stella chirped.
At my apartment, I tidied up a bit because I hadn't been there recently, spending most of my time at Blake's. Once I was done with that, I threw in a load of laundry before grabbing my things and heading out. When I got to Molly's, everyone was already there, so I approached the bar to grab myself a drink.
"Hey Herrmann. One beer please," I tell the bartender. "You know my favorite."
"Gotcha. Coming right up," Herrmann said and walked off to grab me a beer. He came back seconds later and popped the cap off for me, placing the bottle in front of me. "Here you go. So, I was surprised to see your brothers at the station."
I frowned. "What are you talking about?"
"Jay and Will were at 51 talking to Gallo," Herrmann informed me. "What, you didn't know? I thought maybe they were asking him if he knew where you were."
"I did not know that," I confess and take my beer. "Thanks, Herrmann. I'll see you in a bit. With a beer in my hand, I wandered off in search for my boyfriend, and I found him with Ritter. "Hey, Ritter. Mind if I steal him for a second?"
"He's all yours," Ritter offered. I smiled softly at him and then grabbed my boyfriend by the hand, dragging him over to my two brothers, who were sitting at a table at the back of the bar.
"Hey, Y/n. What's up?" Will asked as the two of us neared them.
"I want to know what the two of you were doing at 51 this shift," I prod. "More importantly, what were you talking to Blake about."
"They were-"
I cut Blake off. "No no no. I want to hear it from them. Come on. Spill it."
"Okay, so we may have stopped by to talk to Blake," Jay put forth.
"Talk isn't really the right word," Will interrupted. "More like we grilled him."
"Will!" Jay hissed and glared in Will's direction.
"What? She asked. We may as well tell her the truth," Will defended.
"Ugh," I groan. "You guys do this every single time I have a boyfriend. And you never approve of them. Ever. So I'm not gonna sit here and let you talk shit about-"
"We approve," Jay interjected.
"W-what?" I stutter.
"We think Blake's great," Will reiterated. "You guys seem good together."
"Good," Blake breathed out. "I've been worried all day about what you guys thought."
"You could've just told me that you wanted to get to know Blake better," I say. "I could've set up a dinner or something. When you do it behind me back it makes me feel like you guys don't trust me and the people I hang out with."
"Sorry," Jay apologized. "It won't happen again. You know, we never got to finish talking earlier though. Both of us had a shift to get to. So if you don't mind..."
"I'm down to talk to you guys," Blake admitted and slid into the open chair.
"Are you gonna be okay here for a bit while I make my rounds?" I question.
"Yeah. I'll be okay," Blake assured me.
"Okay. I'll be back shortly. And you two," I murmur and turn to look in the direction of my brothers. "Go easy on him. Don't be assholes."
Will held up his hands. "We won't. Promise."
"Great," I confirm and lean over to press a kiss to Blake's cheek. "See you in a few."

Note : This is based on my mother's day sooo.
Julieta started to get suspicious when her daughter had eyebags under her eyes, “Mi vida, did you get enough sleep?” she asks in her motherly tone as usual.
“Ah— yes i did, Ma. Don't worry, i'm just a little bit stress. Not tired nor sleepy.” (Y/N) rub her eyes then focus again on her chores, leaving Julieta in worried.
“Ay, (Y/N).” she mumbles then decided to let it go. But the next day, it just getting worse. Surprisingly, (Y/N) didn't looked so tired and sleepy at all.
“(Y/N), you need to stop staying up late. That's not good for—”
“—My own health, yes, but Mama i assure you that i'm fine.” Julieta pinch her temple then sighs when her second daughter is being stubborn. “Is there anything i could do for you to ease your stress, amor?” the healer asks as she give her daughter's hand a light squeeze.
“Um, yes please- from now on, i'll make my own coffee so Mama can focus on cooking the breakfast.” Julieta raises her brows as she tilts her head, “Oh? If i may know, why's that?”
“It's been so long i made myself my own coffee. That's all.” with that, Julieta let her daughter go again, but tonight she's to stay up a little too to see what is her daughter intention.
The clock showed her it's already 11 pm. Julieta twisted her knob then go to the kitchen to drink a water, but when she saw the light already turned on, she remembered her daughter.
“That must be (Y/N).” she fasten up her steps then take a little peek to see the person, and she's right, it's (Y/N).
Well, let's just say she's been drinking a lot of coffee - which make her brain will go bbrrr—
“(Y/N)!?” the daughter jumps at the sudden call, then spilled her coffee to the floor. “Dios— mama, you scared me!” she replies as she hold her cup of coffee.
Julieta sighs then put her hands on her hips, “Mi Amor, why are you drinking coffee at midnight?” Julieta walks closely to the daughter then take the coffee away from her.
“Too much caffein, tell me how much have you been drinking coffee? No lying.” (Y/N) can only chuckle nervously as she fidget her fingers, “Two cups in the morning, one cup in the noon, Three cups in the evening then ... Five in the midnight? I guess?”
Julieta widen her eyes after counting how many cups of coffee (Y/N) has been drinking, “Everyday?” “Uhh yes, everyday.”
The mother put the coffee away then leans on the counter as she cross her arms, “Please tell me what makes you do this everyday— you could've hurt yourself!”
(Y/N) shift her gaze away from her mother then look at the calender, “It's suppose to be a surprise, but uhh—” she take a quite big box present then show it to Julieta.
“Happy early Mother's day? Yeayyy...” the two of them stand awkwardly as the silence filled the kitchen room. Then they heard a loud crash, “Ouch! Get off Mirabel!”
“Ay, hermanas! No need to fight, the others are still sleeping—” “Shut up Isa— Ah! Luisa, there's a roach! Get it away, get it away!”
(Y/N) facepalmed at the sight if her sisters getting ruckus at midnight, she felt so embarassed. It was supposed to be a surprise. But oh well, it's already messed up.
“Happy Mother's day, Mama...” they just embarassed themselves more. Julieta was laughing out loud as she wipes the tears of her eyes.
“You four are grounded on mother's day, sweethearts.”
“Mama...” they groaned while hugging the dearest mother.
AWWWW THATS SO CUTE AMBSSLDJE😭 mama julieta is something i definitely LOVE☹️☹️ also luisa, mirabel, and isabela as sisters would be the best sisters i love this so much it gives me life

Btw Title is based off Katy Perry’s song Wide Awake
Pronouns: She/Her
Word Count: 3.5k+
_________
It was early. Too early for Y/n to be crying. But her she was, sitting in bed, clinging to one of Clay's old shirts. In the past, it was normal for her to steal a couple of his belongings. It was typical of Y/n to invite herself into his closet, taking whatever she wanted to wear, whenever she wanted. But now it just felt wrong.
There were only a few items left Y/n had that were his. She never washed this shirt, she had only worn it once. She could still remember the day she stole it.
"Y/n, you've got to be kidding," Clay turned in his desk chair. She had just walked out of his closet wearing an oversized grey t-shirt. "You're seriously going to leave me with five pieces of clothing."
She shot him a playful look, taking a moment to admire herself in the nearest mirror. "I'm sorry Mr. 15 million subscribers. You can always buy more clothes with all that money."
"Fine... it looks better on you anyway."
She had spent the rest of the day in his shirt. And by the end of the day, the scent of his laundry detergent was strong. For an odd reason, the t-shirt had spent weeks in the back of Y/n's closet, untouched. At least, until this morning.
All night she was toss and turning. It seemed impossible for her to get a moment of sleep, her mind had been racing. The only reason she wasn't able to sleep was because of one person; Clay. Their fight had played over and over again in her mind.
'But Y/n, I really do love you.'
There were so many different ways the night could've ended. But it was her fault it ended how it did. If only she hadn't asked for him to step out of the stupid restaurant with her. She didn't need to make a scene, but she still did. This was all her fault.
The sound of her phone buzzing had pulled Y/n away from the piece of fabric in her hands. Looking down at her nightstand, she glanced at the electronic. Wilbur was calling. With a sigh, hesitantly she reached for the phone.
"Hey, Y/n."
"Morning, Wilbur."
The brunette bit his lip at the sound of her voice. He could tell she had a rough night. "Are you doing alright?"
"I'm..." she paused, looking down at the shirt in her lap. "Yeah, I'm doing better."
"That's good to hear," For some odd reason, he was pacing. It wasn't normal for him to pace back and forth. He was already dressed for the day, wearing a set of brown pants with a creme button-up shirt. A pair of glasses rested on his face as he spoke. "George and I were hoping to go get some breakfast. Do you think you could show us somewhere good?"
"Yeah, I'm up for breakfast. What about Nick and Clay?" If Clay was coming, she didn't know what she'd do. There would be tension, but maybe she could find a way to patch everything up between them.
"Nick's going over to Clay's. They wanna have a bit of time together."
"Oh, okay... when do you guys wanna meet up?"
"Maybe 30 minutes to an hour?"
"An hour it is."
Before preparing to go out, Y/n had texted Wilbur a location point to meet up. It was a nice restaurant located in town, it had always been one of her favorite places to eat. George and Wilbur had gotten a table outside, it was nice out for a day in Flordia.
"Do you think she's gonna do it?"
Wilbur glanced across the table to George, "Honestly, probably not." He let out a sigh, " hope she agrees. I really do. But it's gonna be hard for her to let go. I just think it'd be better if they got some time away from each other."
"You're right. As good of friends they are, they need a break from each other." They both knew it wasn't a good idea for Y/n to stay in Flordia at the moment, she needed a moment away from Clay. So Wilbur had come up with an idea to get Y/n to take a break.
"What do you think of Elise?" Changing the subject, George leaned back in his chair. It was rare for Clay's girlfriend to come up in conversation. She seemed like such a touchy subject in the group. She was definitely a sweetheart, but it seemed like she appeared out of nowhere. The group had been planning future Dream SMP roleplay on a Discord call. It had been so brief when Clay mentioned her. 'Hey guys, I just wanted to mention I started dating somebody.' It was smart of George to hold his tongue because of what else Clay had to say. 'Her name is Elise and she's 19.'
Most of the group had expected Clay and Y/n to end up together. They were best friends who lived in the same town. There was constant flirting going on between them. And not to mention Y/n had always been there to support Clay through the bad and good.
"Hey, guys!"
Both of the British men were pulled out of their thoughts by the sound of her voice. Y/n was quick to take a seat by Wilbur. "Have we ordered yet?"
"No actually, we've been waiting for you." George fixed his posture, his classic grin appeared on his face. "Got any recommendations for drinks?"
"My go-to has to be a mimosa and the eggs benedict."
The knock came as a surprise, but there were a lot of surprises happening this morning. Clay had woken up earlier than usual. Naturally, he'd get up around 9 or 10, but today he woke at 7. He couldn't go to bed for a few more hours, his mind wouldn't quit racing with thoughts. He had ended up skipping breakfast, he wasn't hungry today. It was normal for him to eat something, he always woke up starved. The early knock was the cherry on top of the cake of the surprises happening today.
"Hey Nick, what are you doing here?" Clay glanced behind his friend, looking for any sign of the rest of his friends. Originally, they had planned to meet up later that afternoon at his place. "I thought you were coming by at noon?"
Nick stood on the porch, burying his hands into the pockets of his jeans. It was early in the morning, yet it was already warm outside. "Yeah, sorry I didn't ask if I could come by earlier. I just wanted some time alone with you."
"Cool, make yourself at home," Stepping aside, the blonde opened the door a bit wider for his friend. "Sorry it's a bit messy, I was planning to clean up before you guys showed up."
The pair had made their way to Clay's living room. It was nice, but still a bit messy just as he said. As the blonde began to pick up after himself, the pair had a bit of small banter.
"Is Elise gonna come by this afternoon?" Nick watched as Clay picked up a couple of items sitting on the coffee table.
"Uh, no. I think she had work today."
"Oh, what about Y/n?"
Clay tensed, pausing for a second. She had been on his mind a lot since the last time he saw her. The way she looked at him... it hurt. It felt like his heart was being ripped out of his chest. This morning she was all he could think of. He missed her good morning texts, the way she'd update him about little situations happening in her schedule, when she would randomly face time him just to say: 'I wanted to see your stupid face because I missed it.'
"I... she's not coming."
"Why's that?"
"You know why, Nick." Clay let out a sigh, taking a seat on the couch. He didn't know what he could do, he was the one who messed everything up. If he tried to apologize, he might even piss Y/n off even more. She had always been a hardass about being hurt or betrayed, it was hard for her to give people a second chance. "I don't even think she knows we're all planning to meet up later today."
"Dude... it's weird seeing you two like this. It feels wrong." The two friends looked at one another, it seemed like Nick could tell exactly what Clay was thinking. 'It is wrong.'
"I miss her. But I was also the one who fucked everything up by ignoring her for weeks."
"Why'd you even do that?"
"Because I fell in love with her. I was scared she didn't feel the same. So I distanced myself and looked for someone to start a relationship with.  That's why I met Elise."
"Clay... you're an idiot."
"I know."
Turning, Wilbur looked at Y/n. She was halfway finished with her meal. Everything was going great, she seemed so happy just to be able to talk with two friends. It seemed like the best time to spring the idea on her.
"Hey, Y/n?"
"Yes, Wilbur?"
He bit his lip, glancing at the man sitting on the other side of the table. George gave a brief nod, knowing what was going to happen next. "George and I had an idea we'd like to share with you."
"What is it?"
"You know how you've been talking about how you've always wanted to visit us in London?"
"Yeah..."
Wilbur paused, looking back at George for a second. "Well, we were thinking... I have a free room in my place. Why don't you spend one of two months with me just to see how you like London?"
Y/n's face lit up. "That sounds great, Wilbur. I... wow. That sounds so fun!" She paused, her smile disappeared. "But what about my house? I can't just abandon it for a month."
Wilbur bit his lip, 'Shit.'
"Clay can stop by once a week, just to make sure everything's fine. I'm positive he'll do it for you," George was quick to jump into the conversation. As soon as he mentioned Clay, Wilbur shot him a look. Y/n tensed at the sound of his name.
"Listen Y/n, you don't have to do it. Just keep the idea in mind, you can give me an answer before George and I leave."
"Okay..." Y/n bit her lip, looking at her food. She knew the only right answer was yes, but it was going to be hard to talk to Clay about this. "I think... I think I wanna do this. I wanna go with you guys."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, but... just give me some time to think it over."
"We're always here for you, Y/n. No pressure." Wilbur placed a hand on Y/n's. He wanted her to come to London, everything would be better. He cared a lot about Y/n, he really did. He just wanted to see her happy.
"I just want her to be happy," Clay let out a sigh, opening the refrigerator door. His eyes skimmed over what there was, he had gone grocery shopping the other day to plan for today. He still wasn't hungry.
"Everything's gonna get-" Nick paused, he was interrupted by the sound of Clay's phone ringing. There was a moment of silence as the blonde closed the refrigerator, approaching his phone on the kitchen counter.
"It's Y/n."
"What?"
"Do I pick it up?" Clay glanced at his friend.
"yes, yes, yes! Do it!"
Clay was quick to pick up the phone, putting it to his ear. "Hello?"
"Hey, Clay."
"Hey, Y/n."
"Do you..." she paused, "Do you have a moment to talk?"
"Yeah, I can talk." Clay leaned against the counter, listening to her intently. It had only been a few days, but he missed her voice. He could tell she was down.
"I know this seems like the wrong time to be asking for favors and everything, considering everything that has happened this last week. But... I need your help with something." She paused again. He could tell she was hesitating, as though something was keeping her back. "I think I'm gonna be gone for a while. And I just need someone to check up with my house every couple of days. Could you do that? It's fine if you don't want to, it was a stupid idea of me to ask you anyways-"
"No, yeah. Of course, I'll check up on your house for you, Y/n." He was quick to cut her off. The last thing he wanted was for her to think she couldn't turn to him for help anymore. "And it's not stupid of you to ask me. I'll always be here if you need something or need help."
She scoffed, "You weren't there for me these past few weeks." She stopped herself again for the third time. "I'm sorry, that was really bitchy of me."
"I deserved it," he could only chuckle. Y/n was still herself. "But yeah, is there anything else you need... or want to talk about?"
"I... no. No, that's it. I guess I'll talk to you... eventually."
"Alright," Clay fought back the urge to let out a disappointed sigh. "I'll see you." Without saying goodbye, she hung up the phone. He didn't know what to expect next, he wasn't even sure whether this was a step in the right direction or not.
Staring at the box, Y/n felt herself tear up for the hundredth time this week. This was going to be a hard task to complete, but it was going to help her let go.
Walking around the house, Y/n picked up item by item. Anything that belonged to Clay was going in the box.  A few t-shirts, a couple of CDs she stole, one of his coffee cups. Y/n wasn't even sure how the cup had gotten to her house, but she knew it belonged to Clay. All of her coffee cups matched, all the same color and shape. But... this one cup had shown up in her pantry one day. Every time Clay had spent the night, he'd start the morning off with a cup of coffee, only using that cup.
At this point, Y/n was picking up items that held too strong memories of him. The box had quickly filled, it felt strange. It seemed like she had just lost a chunk of her house. Of her life. This needed to happen. This was the only way they'd be able to keep their friendship.
Y/n had agreed to come to London with Wilbur, she was finally fully on board. Two suitcases sat by her front door as she waited for Wilbur and George to arrive. She would only be in Florida for a few more hours, she needed to give this box back to him. Maybe she could just say screw it, leave it here under her bed, hidden away. So when she'd return she'd be comforted by his shirts and hoodies, she'd listen to his songs and cry.
No. She couldn't do that. If she did that she wouldn't be letting go of everything. Y/n needed closure, it'd be the best for them both and she knew it. Pulling her out of her thoughts, Y/n heard a knock on her door. It was time.
"Morning, Y/n."
"Morning, Wilbur." Y/n smiled, embracing her friend in a hug as soon as she opened the door.
"George is in the car. We got coffee too." Wilbur looked down at her, his arms still wrapped around her waist, holding her close. "You're positive you want to do this?"
"Yes, I need to."
"Alright, then. I'll support you with whatever decision you make." He finally stepped aside, moving to grab her suitcases. Y/n grabbed the box, she had moved it into the hallway before greeting Wilbur. With one more glance, she looked down her hallway before closing the door. As soon as her home was locked up, Y/n had dropped her keys into the box. This was going to be the final step before London. Giving it all back.
George and Y/n greeted each other, Y/n giving him a quick hug before entering the car. The rest of the time, the car ride was quiet. There was obviously going to be tension. On their way, Y/n kept thinking to herself about what she was going to say. What if she fucked it all up? What if they broke out into another fight?
"Here we are."
Y/n sucked in a breath, looking over at the familiar house. This was the final step.
"Y/n, do you need either of us to walk up with you?" Wilbur spoke, he noticed the way she looked at the house.
She shook her head. "No, I got this..." Stepping out of the car, there were only a few words she'd repeat to herself. 'This is the final step. This is the final step. This is the final step.' It felt like it took forever for her to reach his porch.
As soon as she was face to face with the wooden door, she was quick to hit the doorbell. She just wanted to get this over with, fast. A few moments passed, and just as she reached to hit the doorbell again, she stepped back. The door was opening.
"Y/n?" Clay yawned, his hair was a mess. It was obvious she had just woken him up. "What are you-"
"It's time for me to go now. I'm sorry for waking you up. Here are my keys and a few of your items in case you wanted them while I was-"
"Woah, woah, woah." He interrupted her, rubbing his eyes. "Slow down, you're talking fast. You're leaving? Right now?"
"I..." she sighed. "Yeah, I am."
"And this..." he looked down at the box in her hands. "They're all mine?"
"Yeah, that's kinda the whole point." She gave him a look, "Considering the box says your name."
"Alright... thank you," he nodded, carefully picking the box up from her. "How long are you gonna be gone?"
"I'm not sure. I just know I have to go."
"Why?"
"Because of us, Clay. It'd be better for both of us. We need time apart. We have so much going on in each other's lives. I just need a break."
He watched her, she looked close to tears. Without thinking, Clay pulled his friend into his embrace, holding her close. "I understand. Take as much time as you need. I'll be here."
"Thank you."
The hug was short, Y/n was the first to pull away. As soon as it was over, she muttered a quick goodbye, hurrying back to the car. When the car door shut, Wilbur was quick to jump to asking questions.
"Are you okay? Do you need anything? You're completely sure you want to do this?"
"I'm fine, Wilbur."
"Alright, I just wanted to check." Wilbur paused, looking out the window. "Y/n, would you mind if George and I said our goodbyes to Clay?"
"Go ahead, I'm not the boss of you."
Sitting in the car alone, Y/n got a moment to catch her breath and stop the tears from forming. She did it. She completed the final step. She could do whatever she wanted now. The moment alone in the car felt short, George and Wilbur were back in the car in what felt like seconds. Only, Wilbur sat in the back with Y/n, George driving by himself.
"You ready, Y/n?"
"More than anything." Y/n looked at Wilbur, the way he smiled at her just felt... good. Looking down, she noticed Wilbur gently grabbing her hand in his. She smiled, things were going to start getting good for her, she knew it.
"Wow okay, now I just feel like a driver for you two." George shot a dirty look in the mirror.
"A bad driver," Y/n grinned at her friend. "Start moving, Mr. colorblind." "If I get a ticket for running a red light, I'm blaming you."
With a yawn, Y/n opened her eyes. She had another good night of sleep, it had been weeks since she had a bad night of sleep. For eight months, she had lived in London. At this point, her house in Flordia was sold to a family of three, and she was no longer flatmates with Wilbur. Instead, she was his girlfriend.
Turning over, she faced the beautiful brunette. He was still asleep. She owed him everything. She was now an influencer because of him, he had helped her set up her YouTube channel and introduced her to the fans. He thought it'd be a good job for her, considering how she was a social butterfly and carry conversations.
Clay and Y/n didn't interact as much as they use to. They'd interact on the Dream SMP and over social media. But it was rare for them to speak in private. The only way their relationship got better was by them distancing themselves. What was a beautiful friendship had turned into an acquaintanceship. Clay was still dating Elise, but it seemed like things weren't going the best and there were signs of him planning to break up with her soon.
Wilbur peeked an eye open, looking at his girlfriend. "Morning, Y/n."
"Morning, Wilbur."
Y/n smiled, she knew she was right. Everything got better for her. After all, When the rain ends, there will always be a rainbow.

The bell rang, signaling the end of class. The guys and I were quick to pack up our belongings before making a beeline for Mr. Clarke's desk, eager to see if the Heathkit came. All the while Mr. Clarke was reminding the already fleeting class of our homework assignment.
"Remember, finish chapter 12 and answer 12.3 on the difference between an experiment and other forms of science investigation. This will be on the test, which will cover chapters 10 through 12. It will be multiple choice with an essay section." His voice faltered towards the end of his sentence as he realized no one had been paying attention.
His head turned to us and he didn't seem too surprised to see us so eager. Mike couldn't take the wait any longer and spoke up on the behalf of all of us.
"So, did it come?"
Mr. Clarke looked solemn. "Sorry, guys," Our heads began to hang in disappointment at his words. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but... It came!"
My face lit up with relief. We followed Mr. Clarke down the halls in anticipation. Mike got to the door first and eagerly threw it open, the rest of us close on his tail.
"Yes!"
Since Mike was the first through the door, naturally he dove for the desk chair as the rest of us scuttled over each other, each of trying to get a close look at it. Lucas and I seemed to have the same idea as we fiddled with the knobs on the Heathkit as Mr. Clarke addressed the new device we were all so eager to see.
"The Heathkit ham shack," The boys and I were in awe.
"Ain't she a beaut?" Mr. Clarke sighed. Dustin then spoke up. "I bet you could talk to New York on this thing."
"Think bigger." Said Mr. Clarke. I rose my eyebrow and looked to my teacher as I questioned, "California?"
"Bigger." 'No way.'
"Australia?" Mike pressed. We all turned out heads hopefully to Mr. Clarke as he responded with a smile and the shake of his head. We all exclaimed.
"Oh man," Lucas chuckled in excitement. "When Will sees this, he's totally gonna blow his shit." My smile faltered at the mention of Will, as Mr. Clarke scolds Lucas for his foul language. Lucas apologized turning back to the Heathkit, and I shake my head slightly trying to get my mind off of Will.
Lucas seems to have found the right settings on the dials based on the high pitch frequencies coming out of the Heathkit. Mike has the headphones on and begins to speak into the mic in an Australian accent.
"'Ello, this is Mike Wheela', president of Hawkins Middle AV Club."
Dustin then practically ripped the headphones off of Mike's head, a big goofy grin on his face as he placed them on his head. Mike was in a fit of giggles as he spoke. "What are you doing?" Dustin proceeded to do the exact same thing as Mike just moments ago.
"'Ello, this is Dustin, and this is the secretary and treasurer of Hawkins Middle AV Club. Do you eat kangaroos for breakfast?" I giggle, shaking my head thinking about the poor confused soul who is stuck listening to the boys ramble on. As Lucas grabs for the headphones, I turn around so I'm facing Mr. Clarke, and I give a polite, yet warm smile. "Thank you."
"You're very welcome Mr. Henderson," He returned the smile, seeming appreciative of the fact that at least one of us said 'Thank you'. He has always been a great teacher, and I don't think anybody ever really appreciates or even thanks him very much. I can't imagine how frustrating it can be as a teacher. I laugh to myself at the sight of my friends playfully fighting over who gets to use it next, when our fun gets cut short at the sound of a knock on the door. We all turn our heads to see the Principle walk in, a couple of men behind him.
"Sorry to interrupt, but, uh, may I borrow Y/N, Michael, Lucas, and Dustin?" To say my stomach dropped would be an understatement as I got a better look at the men out in the hallway and realized it was the Chief and one of his officers.
My mouth ran dry.
'Will.'
The four of were seated on the couch in the Principal's office, Chief Hopper, and officer Callahan - I believe his name was - seated in chairs opposite us. I was seated between Mike and Dustin, I kept my mouth shut unless told otherwise, and my hands have woven together in my lap, much too afraid to do otherwise. The boys, on the other hand, were freaking out and all trying to speak at once. I tried nudging them warningly with my elbows but they just ignored me. It seemed I had made the right choice in being quiet, as Hopper seemed to have gotten impatient almost immediately.
"Okay, okay, okay. One at a time all right? You." He points Mike. Mike shakes his head. "You said he takes what?"
"Mirkwood."
"Mirkwood." His face scrunched up in confusion.
"Yes," I croaked involuntarily, wanting to explain to him that it is just our name for road.
"Have you ever heard of Mirkwood?" He turned to the officer.
"I have not. That sounds made up to me." The officer replied. This timid, awkward man gave me the impression he was more of a 'Yes-man' and knew nothing about what he was doing.
"No, it's from Lord of the Rings."
'Oh, here we go.' I think to myself, sighing.
"Well, The Hobbit."
Mike and I look at each other, knowing what's happening.
"It doesn't matter." Lucas retorted.
"Knock it off!" I warn, trying my best to throw my whisper across the couch without drawing attention to myself.
"He asked!" Dustin nearly shouted.
"Guys!" I hissed.
"'He asked'" Lucas mimicking Dustin, not even listening to me.
I looked over at Mike for help but he is already checked out.
They continue talking over each other in a childish manner and the chief leans forward trying to silence them.
"Hey, hey, hey!" They quieted down finally. "What'd I just say? One at a damn time. You." He nodded to me. He seemed to tolerate just Mike and me.
"Mirkwood, as Mike was saying. It is a real road. It's just the name that's made up, it's what we call it. It's where Cornwallis and Kerley meet." I finish.
He seems satisfied, finally having a straightforward answer. He leans back in his chair, talking now to Callahan.
"Yeah, all right, I think I know that—"
"We can show you, if you want." Mike offered hopefully, cutting the chief off mid-sentence.
"I said that I know it!"
"We can help look."
"Yeah" Dustin added hopefully.
"No."
And just like that, the boys begin to talk over each other once again. Knowing better than to waste my breath trying to shut them up, I sit back once again, hands in my lap waiting for the Chief to continue.
"No," He says loud enough to quiet the boys. "After school, you are to all go home. Immediately. That means no biking around looking for your friend, no investigating, no nonsense. This isn't some Lord of the Rings book."
"The Hobbit."
"Shut up!" Lucas gave Dustin a swat on the arm.
Dustin reached over and hit Lucas back, knocking me and Mike back in the process. I roll my eyes in annoyance, and fight every urge I have not to shout at them.
"Hey!"
Mike finally snaps. "Stop it!"
They continue hitting each other and Hopper finally leans over and says quietly, in an irritated tone. "Do I make myself clear?"
I was the only one paying attention so based on his tired, lowered voice and his eyes on me, I could tell he was just talking to me at this point.
I shook my head. "Yes," I mutter.
He nodded his head at me in thanks. All the while, the boys were still bickering. Hopper's gaze landed on the boys, and he stood up and walked forward towards us. The way his tall frame towered over us was overwhelming, and enough to shut the boys up. In a deep, intimidating voice, he repeated his words, slowly.
"Do I make myself... clear?" The boys nod their heads in fear, their necks craning up to meet his eyes.
"Yes, sir."
"Yeah."
"Yes."
⊹ ⊹ ⊹
I've been laying in my bed, staring at the ceiling for about thirty minutes, give or take a few. I had managed to do all of my school work, including my project that wasn't due for another week and a half, read three books — granted, they were fairly short — and I was still left with nothing to do but worry about Will. The fact that I'm not allowed to help is driving me crazy, even though I keep trying to tell myself the adults are better equipped to deal with this stuff. My thoughts are interrupted by the crackling of the walkie-talkie that was sitting on my dresser. Since our mom couldn't afford two walkie-talkies, Dustin and I share one. I usually have it though so I can talk to Will.
The voice coming through sounded like Mike. Rather than getting my hopes up I just decided to stay put, staring at my ceiling, listening in.
"Lucas, do you copy? It's Mike. Lucas? Over."
"Hey, it's Lucas."
"I know it's you. And say 'over' when you're done talking so I know when you're done. Over." I roll my eyes and smile.
"I'm done. Over." I chuckle at this.
"I'm worried about Will. Over." My smile quickly falls.
I can hear Lucas sigh. "Yeah. This is crazy. Over."
"I was thinking..." Now I was really paying attention. "Will could've cast Protection last night, but he didn't. He cast fireball. Over." I sat up slowly, my eyebrows furrowed at the walkie.
"What's your point? Over."
"My point is... he could've played it safe, but he didn't. He put himself in danger to help the party. Over." A bittersweet smile flutters across my face briefly at this.
"Meet me in ten. Over and out."
'To hell with adults.' I tell myself. I leap off my bed and grab the walkie, knowing they'll still be able to hear me.
"Forgetting someone? Over."
"Y/n? Over." It was Mike.
"Don't worry, I'll let Dustin know. Over and out."
I retract the walkie before shoving it into my bag and heading for Dustin's room.
⊹ ⊹ ⊹
Once I had caught Dustin up on everything, the four of us had met up and we are now currently riding down Mirkwood. The thought of my best friend disappearing right here, exactly 24 hours ago was enough to give me chills.
"Ah, man. This is it." Lucas broke the silence as we approached the barrier closing off the path where his bike was supposedly found. We all came to a stop.
For a brief moment, the woods were lit up by lighting in the distance as thunder bellowed across the sky. Dustin looked up at the blanket of clouds above the trees, his voice shaking.
"Hey, guys. You feel that?" He was obviously referring to the rain that fell on his face. I roll my eyes. "I think maybe we should go back."
"No!" Mike and I said simultaneously.
"We're not going back. Just stay close." Mike and Lucas continued on into woods. I was eager to follow them but not without trying to reassure my brother.
"Dustin, he's right. Look, I know you're scared right now, okay? I'm scared too, but can you even imagine how scared Will must be? We have to do this. For Will." I didn't wait for a reply and ran to catch up with Mike and Lucas.
Knowing my brother, he would rather stay in a group than split up. Sure enough, he gave in.
"Hey, guys, wait up!" He said, dropping his bike. "Wait up!"
We started walking again, and as we did it I could feel the rain start to soak my neck and shoulders. I pulled my hood up over my head, turning on my flashlight and set off into the night, eager to find my friend.
⊹ ⊹ ⊹
The thunder rumbled, and as we ventured deeper into the forest I could feel the light drizzle of rain evolving into a steady downpour.
"WILL!"
"WILL!" I cried.
"Byers!" Lucas yelled.
Dustin tried a different approach. "I've got your X-Men 134!"
Our flashlights were hardly making a difference at this point. Dustin spoke up again. "Guys, I really think we should turn back."
"Seriously, Dustin?" Lucas exclaimed. "You wanna be a baby, then go home already!"
"I'm just being realistic Lucas!"
"No, you're just being a big sissy."
"Did you ever think Will went missing because he ran into something bad? And we're going to the exact same spot where he was last seen? And we have no weapons or anything?"
I start to slow down once I heard something in the bushes.
"Dustin, shut up." Mike spoke up.
'Okay, thankfully, Mike must have heard it too.'
"I'm just saying, does that seem smart to you?"
"Dustin!" I snap. "Zip it!"
Now the rustling was loud and clear.
"Did you guys hear that?" Mike asks.
I just shake my head, looking around for the source of the noise. The rustling is louder than ever and we all turn in the direction it came from. All our flashlights pointed in that direction. Then we heard it again. It was right behind us. We whipped around to find a girl, with a buzz cut, wearing nothing but 'Benny's Burgers' tee t-shirt. We all stood there, mouths agape at this girl, shivering and cowering in fear.

Haunted by the Past Part 17
When I opened my eyes again, it was morning. To my surprise, Jake was still there holding me. I shifted and turned to look behind me. He was sleeping - the man who never sleeps.
He must’ve sensed my gaze as he stirred and slowly woke up. He blinked at me for a while, then smiled, “Hi beautiful.”
“I take it you’re feeling better,” I smiled back.
“I can’t complain,” he said with a light grind against me.
“We will have to get up eventually,” I laughed.
“Mmm, maybe I’ll just call in sick,” Jake groaned and he snuggled closer.
“How is your boss going to handle that?” I teased.
“Oh he won’t complain. I never take sick days,” Jake closed his eyes.
We laid like that for at least an hour, just enjoying each other’s warmth. Eventually we could not ignore our basic needs any longer. I got up and went to the bathroom for a shower. Jake followed me in. The shower took so long from Jake’s intense kisses that we started to run out of hot water.
When we got out, I couldn’t be bothered with clothes and just put on one of Jake’s shirts and panties. This made him giddy. While I dried my hair, he left to make the morning payment for the room.
I went to the kitchen and served myself a large piece of cake for breakfast. With renewed energy Jake had gone back to his computer for the first time since I interrupted him. I put the cake down on the desk next to him and grabbed one of the chairs to sit next to him. I shared my cake with him, feeding him while he worked.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. I went into the bedroom before Jake could even signal to me. Jake peeked through the peephole. “It’s the motel staff,” he said quietly to me as he put his facemask on. He took a deep breath, then opened the door. “Is there a problem?”
I couldn’t really hear or see the staff outside as Jake blocked my view. I saw him glance at the door, then at me. Then he stepped outside further, nearly closing the door fully behind him. After a minute or two he came back in and grabbed some cash out. He tried to give it to the well-dressed male staff at the door, but he shook his head and refused to take it. A few more quiet words were said and Jake closed the door.
“Get dressed, pack up,” he instructed without even looking at me.
“Did we get made? How?” I asked.
“Just do as I say,” Jake snapped. Whatever was happening, it was bad.
I went into the bedroom, got dressed and packed up quickly. When I came back out, I noticed Jake had packed up his backpack, but not his monitors. He saw me looking at them.
“I'll come back for them later. It is imperative we get you out now,” Jake stressed.
“Me?” I questioned. Then it hit me. My stalker had struck again. I decided to test my theory by heading for the door.
“No, we’re going out the fire escape at the back,” Jake gestured. “We won’t be seen.”
I followed Jake to the back balcony, which led a ladder down to the back of the building. He went first and I followed. We could've swung around to the car, but instead Jake led me down a path of alleyways to an abandoned building. He knew exactly where he was going, this was his escape plan. He pulled out a lock pick set and after confirming no one was watching, he picked the lock. Inside was an old set of offices. There was a number of desks and chairs remaining and paper littered everywhere. Jake led me to what must’ve been the manager's office. It was dark, but Jake didn't turn the lights on. If he didn’t, then there had to be a reason to.
“Jake, it was him again, wasn’t it?” I asked.
While keeping his eyes peeled on the outside door and windows, he sighed, “Yes, he had marked the door sometime after I got back to the room. So sometime in the last 20 minutes? He'll still be nearby.”
“You tried to give the manager money?” I questioned.
“I tried to pay for cleaning the door, but he wouldn’t take it. Can you set up my laptop at that desk?” Jake gestured to the large L-shaped desk further in the room, then pulled off his backpack to give to me. “Oh and grab one of the cameras.”
“Sure,” I took his bag and plopped on the desk. Taking out his laptop was easy in the low light room. Finding a camera was a bit harder. I opened his laptop to provide more light. In the front pouch of his bag were various bits and pieces. I finally came across something resembling a nanny camera. “Is this what you’re looking for?” I held it up as I walked back to Jake at the doorway.
“Yup, thanks,” Jake took the camera and stuck it on shelf behind the receptionists desk. He then went into the office and sat down at his laptop.
I walked up behind Jake and watched as he turned the camera on, leaving the feed on in the corner of the screen. He then typed away until he opened the motel's security cameras. He scrubbed through until he found the exact time he headed back to the room after paying. He slowly scrubbed forwads, waiting for the time that our graffiti artist showed up. However before he could, my phone started ringing. I pulled it put, but before I could answer, Jake took the phone from me.
“I already know what he’s going to say and do. That’s not important right now,” Jake answered the call and put the phone face down on the desk on the other side.
I could hear the Man Without a Face's voice hissing, “Where are you, little kitten? I am here, in the room you’ve been sinning in every night, but where are you?”
Jake meanwhile typed furious on his computer. The last thing I saw him type was ‘this.ScorpionSting();’. He pressed enter, then sat back with his arms crossed, looking pleased with himself. A loading bar appeared on the screen ‘Uploading Sting'.
“Do you realize how loudly you’ve been sinning? Finding you was easy,” the voice on the phone continued.
“Ignore him, you haven’t committed any sins,” Jake insisted.
“Well, technically having sex out of wedlock is a sin. Nevermind oral sex,” I pointed out.
“If you subscribe to that interpretation. As we are committed to each other, I hardly see how a piece of paper or a ring changes that,” Jake explained his view nonchalantly. The upload finished and Jake grinned. The call ended shortly after. “Consider yourself stung asshole.”
“What did you do?” I asked.
“The other reason why I got you a new phone, so I could easily use the P2P connection to infect his phone with malware. Now I have complete backdoor access to his phone,” Jake typed away at the computer again. “It is my own work, I’ve named it ‘Scorpion Sting’ because it infects his phone while he’s distracted. Let’s see where you are...” Jake brought up a map with a beacon on it. “He's still at the motel. What else has your phone got on it?”
Jake typed away and then frowned. “It’s a burner. No saved contacts, no files, no apps, photos and videos of- nevermind.”
“What?” I questioned.
“It’s not important,” Jake insisted.
“Tell me.”
“Can’t you just trust me?” Jake snapped. “Sorry... with these timestamps and location data... he has recordings of us. Multiple nights.”
“So now he’s a voyeur? But the curtains were fully closed,” I pointed out.
“Do you really want me to open them to find out what he has?” Jake looked at me quizzically.
I thought about it for a moment, “No, it does sicken me.”
“If it would make you feel better, you can look away while I look,” Jake offered.
“Couldn’t you just delete them?”
“No, he'd realize he’s been hacked. I can’t be modifying anything on his phone. Ah, he’s finally leaving. Crap!” Jake suddenly exclaimed.
“What is it?”
“He's turned his phone off! Of course, it’s a burner, he doesn’t need to keep it on. He was so close to leading us to his home too,” Jake rubbed his head through his hood. “At least I can create a listener for when he turns it back on.”
“You’re sure he’s leaving?” I asked.
“He went to the car park. That would indicate he had a car. Probably got in and turned it off there. I can probably compare it to the footage in the lot, see if I can get a license plate,” Jake went back to the motel’s CCTV. “Why don’t you get a chair?”
“Ok,” I left the room to find a decent chair. They were all dusty, but there was one that had faired better than the rest. When I got back, Jake was scrubbing through the footage of the parking lot. Sure enough our voyeur got into an older car and drove off. However the plates were obscured. “What’s with those plates?”
“He's got a reflective filter on them, making them hard to pick up on cameras. To the naked eye they seem normal,” Jake groaned in disappointment. “Well I’ll know when he pops up again. And he might even be careless enough to turn it back on in the safety of his own home.”
“Then we’ll know where he lives,” I smiled.
“Not just that, Scorpion Sting is programmed to infect other devices on the same network,” Jake grinned. “He'll become the prey.”

Deadly Past
CHAPTER 1
I woke up, the room still dark. I looked over at the clock, and it read "3:46AM". I wasn't really tired anymore, so I decided to just work on some homework until my parents woke up. I checked my phone for the date, and it said " Thursday, December 4th, 2025". I let out an audible sigh. "3 years ago today." I say, no one awake to hear it. Before I can will myself to get out of bed, the tears begin to roll down my face. Soon I'm curled up under the covers, unable to stop myself from crying.
I open my eyes to the sound of the alarm and the slight sunshine coming in through the curtains. "Guess I fell asleep after that." I say to myself. I check the time once again, and it read "6:30AM". I turn off the alarm and head for my closet, the same outfit as always, 3 piled up in a basket, 4 hanging from different hangers. The same outfit, one for each day of the week. I grab one and begin to get dressed. I pick up a bowtie and a skirt, but then put them down. " I just feel neutral today." I say to myself. I go over to my desk and grab my notebooks, computer, and binder and then put them in my school bag.  I also grab my lead pencil, lead container, my headphones, and my phone and I put them into my pocket. I unlock my bedroom door and head out.
I walk down the stairs as the sound of frying gets louder, and I see Parker making pancakes and sausages. Parker, my dad's fiancee, has only been living here for about 3 months, but he quickly grew on me, seeing as we share quite a few interests. He's fairly tall, being 6'1. Although he's only about an inch or two taller than me, both of us are taller than my dad, who stands around 5'9, and we both like to joke about it with him, almost always making my dad laugh. "Good morning Parker, need some help with that?" I say as I sit on the other side of the counter, inhaling the Intoxicating smell of the food. "No, but I could use some help waking up Olive, he's passed out cold at his desk again." He says without looking up from his cooking. "Which desk? The garage, basement, or office one?" I ask. "Office" he says, still not looking away from his cooking. "Got it." I say as I stand up and begin to walk back up the stairs.
Once I'm at the top, I turn left and enter my dad's office. It is but one of three rooms where he stores his stuff. He's a scientist, having made many inventions that greatly benefitted humanity. Although he anonymously gave the government the inventions, he gets paid for every invention of his they sell in stores and such. He has millions stored some place I don't know the whereabouts of.
I tried tapping his shoulder, shaking him gently, but nothing seemed to stir him. Eventually, I just got an air horn and blasted it from the doorway, making him jump and then falling backwards, chair and all.  "Good morning Dad." I say as he stares up at me. "Good morning Alexan-" I cut him off. "Stages." I say, slightly irritated. "Right, Stages, My apologies!" He begins to search for his glasses. "Oh biscuits I could've sworn I left them here... Oh well the goggles will have to do for now." He then grabs a pair of goggles from one of the shelves. "Is Parker cooking breakfast yet? I'm feeling quite famished." He says as his stomach grumbles, as if on cue. "Yes, he's cooking pancakes and sausages." I say. "Ah, well I'll be right down, just give me some time to compose myself. " he says, grabbing a comb to fix the unruly curls of hair sticking out in random places. "Alrighty, I'll be downstairs."
As I walk down the stairs, Parker looks to be finishing up the food, beginning to place it on plates. "I assume it was a struggle to get him to wake up by the sound of the air horn" Parker says jokingly. "Yeah, but he's coming downstairs soon, he's just fixing his hair." I say, as a clatter erupts from upstairs, soon sending a red laser into the ceiling.  "OH BEANS, SORRY ABOUT THAT!" he shouts from upstairs. "IT'S ALRIGHT DAD!" I tell him.
Parker hands me my plate and I take my seat at the table. Olive soon comes down the stairs, his hair still messy but better than before, and apparently having managed to find his glasses. "Good morning sweetheart!" Olive says as he walks towards Parker. "Good morning honey! " Parker says as he and Olive share a kiss. "You have to work today right?" I ask Parker. "Yeah, but I finished most of my work yesterday, so today I should be home in only a few hours, if I'm not given more busywork." Parker says as he and Olive begin sit down at the table. "Anything special happening today?" Parker asks.
I fall silent, not wanting to say what today marks the anniversary of. Olive, taking notice of my silence, says "Today.....isn't the best day for him." Parker glances at Olive. "Why? Why is........oh. Right." A look of realization washing over Parker midway through his sentence. I feel tears begin to form in my eyes but I just sigh. "Yeah." I say, just staring down at my food. "I-I'm sorry, kiddo." Parker says, beginning to cut his pancakes. "It's fine, it hurts but I'll be fine by the end of the day. " I say, taking a bite out of a sausage. "Okay, but remember to carry your medication with you wherever you go, we can't have another incident so close after another." Olive says, already having finished one of his two pancakes. "I know, but remember, it wasn't my fault that happened, the housekeeper just threw away my medicine for no reason" I say, eating a bit of my pancakes. "Yeah, but that doesn't change the fact that we had to pay for the housekeepers funeral" Parker says, waving a fork at me. "Why did they even host a funeral? The body was basically a pile of flesh and bone."  I say, continuing to eat my breakfast. "Closed casket funerals exist, idiot." Parker says, getting started on his second pancake. "Enough, you two. It's too early in the morning to be discussing this sort of thing. Stages finish your food and prep your school bag, don't forget to take a shower." Olive says as he takes his now empty dishes and places then in the sink. "Okay, dad." I say as I proceed to finish my food in silence, place my dirty dishes in the sink, and go back upstairs.
I enter my room and close the door behind me, locking it. I throw myself onto the bed, just wanting to take a moment to relax. I pick up the photo on my nightstand and look at it. "We were so happy. We never knew what was going to happen. " I say to myself. I put the picture back and grab my towel.
I step out of my room and head to the bathroom on my right. I enter the bathroom and shut and lock the door. I turn on the water, waiting for it to heat up. I undress and leave my clothes near the door. I then enter the shower, but I don't do anything. I just stand in the shower, proceeding to cry as I slowly sink down to the floor. I quickly compose myself and continue showering. About 15 minutes later, I exit, dry myself, and get redressed.
I go over to my room and just pick up my bag,  then exit once more. I walk down the stairs and look over at both my parents. "I'm ready to go." I say as I turn to face them properly. "Alright then, Olive go turn on the car please, I'll be right out." Parker says, cleaning off the kitchen table. "Alright, follow me Stages!" Olive says, running out the front door.
I begin to step out, but Parker stops me. "Hey, I made you your lunch today!" Parker says, handing me a brown bag. "I put a little surprise in there to help make your day a little bit better." Parker then walks over and gives me a tight hug. "Thank you, I really need that today." I say. "Of course kiddo. I know today is a bad day already, given it's a reminder of such a horrible tragedy." Parker says, giving me a genuine smile. "Yeah, I-" I'm cut off by the sound of Olive honking the horn. "Oh right, we better get out there." Parker says, running over to the living room and grabbing his laptop. "Yeah, let's go." I say as I walk out.
I open up the backseat of the car and put my bags in. I then slide them over and sit down, putting on my seatbelt afterwards. Parker enters soon after and gives Olive a kiss on the cheek. "Let's go!" Parker says, looking overly enthusiastic. Olive pulls out of the driveway, and were off to school.
The town is about as busy as a bus stop in the middle of the night, people being few and far between, which is strange for a town with a population in the thousands. As I watch the people move by in a blur, I begin to feel something trickle out of my nose. I check, and it's blood. I begin to panic, checking my bag, but then I realize. I forgot my medication.

THIS STORY CONTAINS: Swearing, Described injury

After a few minutes, all of the Freedom Fighters gathered together right outside the Sky Patrol and coordinated plans for what each of them would do for that day.
"Is… is it alright if I accompany you, Amy..?" Whisper asked shyly, hoping she wasn't being bothersome.
"Oh! I don't mind that at all! I kind of needed a buddy anyway, since Tails totally bailed on -"
"Whisper! Where were you thinking of going??" Tangle suddenly sprung upon the scene. She looked up from her best friend as she waited for a response. "Oh hey, Amy!"
"Nice to see ya Tangle! Whisper was just-"
"What cha' running off like that for, huh?? If you wanted to play hide n' seek, you should'a told me!" Lux questioned as she pounced on Tangle with a hug.
Amy no longer had any response to give.
"Girls! Girls! I thought we were going to stick together!!" Jewel finally flew in, ending the domino of Freedom Trainees that Amy was stuck being witness to.
"Well, you're all together now!" Amy noted, trying to find some new footing in the conversation.
"... I guess we are then." Jewel responded simply.
"S-sorry for making you all worry… I-I just wanted to ask Amy if I could buddy up with her… I didn't realize you all would follow right behind me…" Whisper explained.
"Really?? I guess I'm not being a good enough friend then!" Tangle jested, causing the other girls to giggle.
"Anyway, I was going to tell Whisper that I'm honestly in need of a buddy myself since Tails ditched me to buddy up with Sonic of all people…" Amy explained further.
"Ah. I would say I can't blame them, buuuuuuuuuut…" Tangle said awkwardly.
"He's become a real pain in the rear end if you catch what I'm saying!" Lux added.
"Well, we always have room for another!" Jewel declared happily.
"Sweet! So, what do you guys have planned for today?" Amy asked.
The four Freedom Trainees looked at each other with blank expressions and then looked back at Amy.
"... You don't have any plans, do you?" She asked, sighing.
"No…" Jewel admitted, giggling awkwardly.
"... Do you have any..?" Whisper inquired.
"Well, I was thinking of stopping by Ms. Vanilla's place to grab some breakfast-" Amy started to explain, before being interrupted by Tangle, who was proving to be by far the most talkative of the Freedom Trainees.
"Ooh! Oh! Oh!! I like that! Let's do that!"
"I second that! Mama always told me and ol' Aurora to never waste an opportunity for free food!" Lux said as she placed her hand on Tangle's shoulder, causing the lemur to blush.
"Aurora?" Amy questioned curiously.
"My sister! Older, specifically." Lux answered.
"Oooh, I see! By how much?"
"Ah… pretty sure it's by like, 4 or 5…"
"Years?"
"Minutes."
"So you guys are identical twins??" Tangle guessed, intercepting the conversation.
"I never said we were identical… But we are twins." Lux replied. "Though the thought that y'all were able to assume we could've been is real flattering, ya know?" She continued, which made Tangle blush again.
"I really like this conversation we're having here, but do you guys think we should ya know… start actually going somewhere instead of just standing around the Sky Patrol?" Jewel proposed.
"Oh, yeah!" Amy responded, giggling. "Follow me!"
"Anyway, that ol' Aurora, she's always been a real lucky girl in my eyes." Lux suddenly spoke, continuing the conversation where it had left off before the five started their walk.
"What makes you say that…?" Whisper asked.
"Well, if I'm honest, it's 'cause she's the one out of the two of us that were actually born as a girl!" Lux admitted bluntly.
"Wait! You're trans, Lux??" Amy inquired excitedly.
"You better believe it! I worked real hard to look as good as I do now, ya know! So y'all thinking that Aurora was my identical twin made me real -"
"Euphoric?" Amy suggested.
"Yeah!"
"I get that completely! I'm trans too, if you didn't know." Amy revealed.
"Really?? Dang girl! You pass even better than I do!" Lux exclaimed, pulling Amy into a hug, which ended up looking really awkward considering that Amy was a good few inches taller than Lux.
"P-pardon if I come off as rude… But didn't you say that your parents gave you your name..?" Whisper hesitantly questioned.
"Yeah, I did, didn't I?" Lux acknowledged. "I wasn't lying when I said that, ya know! It's just that I felt like the name "Lux" still fit me, even after I came out of the closet!"
"I see, I see…" Whisper said, smiling.
"I figured that Jewel at least already knew though, 'cause of that background check she did." Lux added, to which Jewel nodded. "Mama said that she would've gotten that gender marker on my legal what-nots changed already if it wasn't for me having to wait 'till I'm eighteen!"
"Well that's certainly a nice offer! Sonic said the same to me, honestly." Amy testified.
"But knowing him…" Whisper muttered.
"Not really? I mean, he's a massive dick, yeah! But considering he did it for Tails, and himself too, I don't think he was lying about that one. Hell, the non binary markers he did for Tails and himself are even harder to get, so if he's willing to do all that, then he's definitely willing to get mine changed to "female"."
"Well… you never know, considering you two are… quite hostile to each other." Whisper advised, to which Amy simply shrugged.
----
"Almost done! Just place a little dot riiiiiiight… there! " A ghostly appendage placed itself upon the pale red piece of scrolling paper, and where it was placed was quickly filled by a fluid, and yet rough circle of black ink, having a charm to it that was quite like a child's coloring page.
"There!" The proud voice of a happy little hedgehog exclaimed.
"Congrats, Shads! "
"Now you officially know how to write each and every one of the names of the members of your hivemind in Hi-Bloosiæne…! "
"The first test of my abilities has been completed…! I know for sure that I'll become a truly skilled Black Arms leader!" Shadow declared with a dorky grin on it's face, which brought much joy to their ghostly companions.
"Yes… Every day, you show more and more of your potential…! I for one am proud to be guiding you on your way…!"
"Same here!! You make me happy to be a cool auntie!!"
"Dad… Sen… You guys are being really sappy right now!!" Shadow teased loudly, giggling in a mischievous tone.
"Oh shit yeah… I didn't really notice it! " Sendrir laughed as well, admittedly a tad embarrassed. Doom on the other hand, did not react to Shadow's teasing, and simply looked out into the distance. "Oh come on now big guy! You've gotta admit, they've got a point! "
"Agreed… however, if you two would redirect your attention to the skies beyond us…" Sendrir and Shadow both looked at where Doom was looking, and instantly, Shadow saw a familiar silhouette in the distance.
"The Doctor!?"
Parting through the thick clouds, Doctor Robotnik's aircraft came into full view. It was nothing to really get that worried over compared to the whole fleet he had attacked the Aerth Temple with back during the first Black Arms invasion, but it still served to interrupt the new leader's downtime, and that was nothing short of unexceptable.
"So it seems that the foolish scientist has not learned his lesson…? " Doom sneered in annoyance.
"But that'll be no issue for you, right? " Sendrir added, hyping Shadow up for battle.
"Exactly." Shadow responded, smirking.
Shadow’s determination and anger was allowed to sit and fester as Doctor Robotnik instantly went into a monologue once he had arrived. Ridiculing Shadow for being at fault for just about all of his problems as of late. Whether the accusations were correct or not, and some were, the affair made them incredibly bored, and boredom as a Black Arms is an emotion that is quite bothersome to face, and the odd little quirks in Shadow’s creation made it feel even worse. Before the doctor was anywhere near finished, it planned to attack. Swiftly and without mercy, just as they had been instructed to during training.
But before they could take a single strike, a voice bellowed from behind.
"Oh doctor! Your date is waiting~!" It shouted, the voice immediately recognizable to all in attendance, except for Doctor Robotnik himself, for this was vengeance, not for the one who spoke, but for a friend and a colony both long lost.
Ivo looked up at the sky, his eyes following the figure that the voice had come from. What faced him when he did were five wide eyes, filled to the brim with bloodlust.
"A DATE WITH DESTINY, THAT IS!!"
Though her face was covered by the mask upon it, Ivo could swear he saw a manic grin coming from his adversary as she swung down and sliced his aircraft almost in half with its long, sharp sword.
"How DARE you?? You'll pay for that, Missy!" Doctor Robotnik yelled out in retaliation. His voice sounded odd to him, but he paid it no mind.
"Oh really? Because I believe that it's your time to cash the check, Ivo!!" Come to think of it, everything Ivo had heard since the woman's first attack had sounded off… And what was this warm liquid he felt dripping down the side of his cheek?
"Doctor! Your ear!" Stone suddenly cried out, bringing the dreadful answer to all of Ivo's questions.
"I recommend you leave here, Doctor! If not, the next body part you'll be losing…" Shadow pulled out a rifle as they spoke. "Will be your head!" It threatened.
"Yeah! You tell him! " Sendrir cheered.
With that, the busted up aircraft dashed off into the distance, Stone driving away as Ivo got assistance from the various robot servants on the small round ship.
"... Thanks for the help Mom. N-Not like I needed it or anything-!" Shadow spoke, amazed.
"I know you didn’t need it honey… but Mama wanted to teach that old Egg a lesson for messing with Little Planet!" Widow boasted, slinging her sword over her shoulder. "I'll let you make the finishing blow next time he comes around to play, okay…?"
"Sounds good to me, Mom!" Shadow responded, giggling.
"Damn Widow! I haven't seen ya go that hard in a battle since the 90s! " Sendrir proclaimed in shock.
"Shadow might be the leader of the Black Arms officially, but this old Queen hasn't stopped fighting for her people just yet!"
"That's the Widow I know and love so dearly…" Doom testified, which made Widow's face go delightfully warm.
"Hey, Mom, while you're here, look what Auntie Sen and Dad taught me today!"

The small cabin that stood before Amy and the Freedom Trainees looked like something out of a fantasy story, an old tale that a parent would softly read to their child just before bedtime. Though, within those sugar coated retellings, the dark implications still rest within. That evil darkness that Amy desperately tried to block out crept down her spine in an awful chill, but she simply shook it off. Today was not to be ruined by even a consideration towards those monsters! Today is a vacation from it all, and nothing would interrupt it!
"Uhm.. Amy.. A-are you just gonna keep staring off into space, or are you gonna come inside..?" Whisper hesitantly asked, which made Amy realize she had unintentionally become lost in her thoughts.
"Oh! Yeah yeah, my bad!" Amy immediately responded as if nothing was wrong. But Tsunami knew different. Her spirit softly laid itself upon Amy's hand, which made it feel cold, like if it was placed into a bucket of ice. "Ah-! That was freezing!!"
"Sorry… But… You know I could overhear that trail of thoughts you were having, right…? " Tsunami said.
"Oh yeah… the whole um… hivemind or whatever. Right."
"I can tell that the last week has been really scary for you, Amy…"
"... Yeah, it has. But that's no excuse to stand around and sulk! There's a whole new day waiting for us!" Amy marched inside Vanilla's house without another word, but Tsunami had a sneaking suspicion that her daughter was hurting more than she was letting on. Regardless, she sighed and followed behind Amy.

DISNEY'S "GARGOYLES" SEASON 2 QUOTES RP MEME
Why do you read that stuff?
I like a man who brings me weapons.
Nice wake up call.
We won't have to find them. They'll find us.
Revenge, as they say, is a sucker's game.
I'll settle for tearing this jerk IN HALF!
Want to see me use both hands?
That's no way to treat a lady!
That was no lady.
Thanks for saving my bacon before it got fried.
Look, just promise you'll call if there's trouble.
Go ahead, try something!
I'd love to do that again!
That wasn't a tranquilizer dart.
It was loaded with a mutagenic formula!
You don't know anything about her!
Why are you stomping on my friend here?
I was particularly proud of my death scene.
You never let me drive.
The important thing is, you're alive.
Are you sure this is a good idea?
Something's not right here.
Then you leave us no choice!
How are we supposed to find them?
Please, I beg you, be quiet.
This isn't a good idea.
I'm best qualified to go.
My memories are clouded.
Why should I trust you?
If you can't trust me, then trust your heart.
Why do you fight me, my love?
We are destined to be together for all eternity.
I will choose who I love!
Now we'll see what this creature looks like up close.
Why stare at marks on a page when you can rent the video?
Well, I can't read and I don't think I'm missing anything.
Harrier jets! They can take off and land like helicopters. When your life's this exciting, who needs books?
Are you all right?
I had a little trouble.
This beach isn't safe after dark.
Do you need a doctor?
Come on in. I've got a fire going.
There's little I can offer in return, except my thanks.
You understand, I don't get any real pleasure from this. Well you've got courage, beastie. I'll give you that.
Funny, something about your voice made me think you were a soldier, once.
You were there.
I'm old, but I'm not that old.
I'm glad you came back.
I'm afraid I can't stay, but I think I left something on the terrace this morning.
Have you come across a large canister?
The name sounded phony.
I do know him, but he's not a friend!
A magic book?
They're worthless. No magic at all.
The written word is all that stands between memory and oblivion.
Without books as our anchors, we are cast adrift, neither teaching nor learning.
Books are lighthouses erected in the dark sea of time.
Is this how you welcome all your guests?
They have a sense of humor. You have none.
Yeah, I know, you're as relieved I am that everything's back to normal.
Wouldn't it be great to be a shapeshifter?
Well, let's just get this over with, shall we?
How can I be of service, hmm?
Out with it. I haven't got all night.
I'm sure you'll fit right in.
What is it you really want?
This just might be fun after all.
I thought everyone knew this.
Shapeshifters, elves, fairies, you mean they're real?
You mean, you thought I was ugly?
I want you to get rid of the humans. ALL of them.
Does this look like Aladdin's lamp? I have limits, after all.
Humans love a battle hearty.
I'll never get the hang of jumping off rooftops.
I'll always be there to catch you.
Do it, and you win your freedom.
It will be my pleasure. But afterwards, I'm going to need a very long nap.
There. You're free.
The sun, it's glorious! I never thought that it could feel so good.
I'm sorry about the bomb. But it proves how dangerous this case is.
When someone messes with your partner, you're supposed to do something about it.
You still haven't learned that crime doesn't pay.
A trade?
Let's just say, I don't trust you with it.
So, now you know my weakness.
Only you would regard love as a weakness.
A momentary lapse, I assure you.
Halloween! Tonight is the night!
Come on. I've wanted to stroll down a city street with you for a long time.
Marry me.
Are you serious?
We're genetically compatible, highly intelligent, and have the same goals.
You could've been hurt. I should've been with you.
Oh-well, spilt milk. Let's move on to plan B.
Don't listen to him. It's a trick! He couldn't tell the truth if his life depended on it!
Even if what you say is true, why should I help her?
Because you know what it means to lose some you love.
Not a good night for you.
You can't believe anything he says.
If someone like him can love, perhaps there is some hope for this world.
Take this as token of my love.
Upon this I pledge my heart to you forever.
Why do you need all this?
I wanted it, so I took it.
It's so unlike you to attack first.
I simply invited you here to talk.
Our past encounters have not inspired me to trust you.
It's crazy to even consider going!
I'm not interested in reminiscing!
Have you no respect for anything?
Believe me, I know exactly how you feel.
I will never be like you!
I do not wish to hurt you.
I do not wish to be you!
What am I to do?
Do nothing.
Do not worry.
Live in the moment.
Attend the petty angers and jealousies that fill your heart.
Fortify yourself with love and trust.
Fulfill the vows of love you make, for they can surely save you.
Time travel's funny that way.
Get away from me, you sentimental fool.
It's a pretty good likeness.
You know more than you're letting on.
T'was your handiwork.
very life is precious.
Take care not to become what you fight against.
Vengeance begets only a further cycle of more vengeance.
Do you want vengeance or a solution?
This is bigger than either of us has ever faced.
We'll have to work together to stop her.
Truce?
You are the cause of all this.
Humans will learn to respect you.
I would rather they fear me.
What are you doing to help?
That's one way to settle an argument.
I thought I'd rid myself of you long ago
You've forgotten about me.
You're too late. You can't save them. No one can!
I'm not here for them. I'm here for you.
I want it over between us!
I wear this as a reminder of your treachery.
Let's not start that again. You blame me, I blame you. Aren't you tired of talking about it?
I'm not here to talk.
Killing me will gain you nothing but your own death.
Death is never the answer. Life is.
I'm just so tired
Your thirst for vengeance has only created more sorrow.
I offer you one last opportunity for forgiveness and mercy.
I merely offer a sample of what you planned for me.
You have learned nothing.
I will still have my revenge!
What do we do with them?
You come in handy now and then.
I'm quite glad the plan worked.
I'm no hero, I just do my job, and my job for tonight is over.
All I want to do is hit the sack.
Why would you want to hit a sack?
How long was I out?
Even shadows must be true to their shade.
We don't need to wait for sunset.
Is it supposed to hurt that much?
Just get on with it.
Recognize the woman?
She seemed familiar, but I just couldn't place her.
You're getting real good at bypassing alarms
Don't give me credit.
It was too easy!
Maybe misery loves company.
If you're human, then you're subject to human laws.
Either way I win!
I fear no human!
There are forces at war within me.
I will return some day, if I can.
You sound like every human employee I ever fired!
Crush all of them together and you couldn't squeeze one iota of personal integrity from the lot!
No excuses, creature!
Learn to take responsibility for your own actions! And STOP whining!
Oh, I am trembling in my chair.
You believe I am not responsible. Yet I remain your prisoner?
Who said you're not responsible?
It doesn't matter that you were tricked, you know now that your actions inflicted grievous damage. Do you take responsibility for them or not?
Well, what are you going to do?
You seem distracted, having second thoughts?
We'll celebrate over breakfast.
No more excuses. I accept full responsibility for my actions. I was wrong.
Integrity is never easy. It's a daily struggle, a costly struggle.
I know I owe you a great debt for the mistake I made a year ago.
If the text wasn't new to me, it was at least worth revisiting.
All I know is I'm about to be wiped out!
It doesn't have to be that way.
I can break these chains. But only you can get me past the bars.
Automatons know nothing of betrayal or honor. They know only what they're programmed to know.
Only living beings possess the ability to change, and make new choices.
You've given me much to consider.
We are friends.
I'd rather not have your death on my conscience
You'll never reach the bridge!
You have two minutes until impact, one minute before I detonate.
I don't want any innocents hurt!
If it goes down, I'm going down with it.
I knew you wouldn't let me down.
Yes, well, you have that effect on people.
I built this company for you!
I'd probably give it to you, if you'd just stand up and ask me for it honestly!
Asking for it wouldn't be any fun at all.
'Fun' is still more important to you than honor. I can't understand that.
Well, maybe you'll have better luck relating to the next generation.
You should've heard him laugh.
Made my hair stand on end, if I had any.
Surely you know I am not in the habit of playing childish pranks or laughing maniacally in the dark.
Do you even know how to laugh maniacally?
Don't tempt me.
Typical. You do and do and do for them, and what happens? They twist the knife in you!
I think I've created a monster.
Have you ever considered the bounties of genetic engineering?
Or maybe cybernetics is more your style?
Save the horror show for Halloween.
I'm sure tired of taking punishment, and I'd love to be able to give some back
That's the source of the trouble.
I hope you not planning to eat your catch.
Now that I'm in charge, I'm not taking any more of your cracks!
You're barely our species!
I'm in charge, here!
I find him very attractive.
Well, that's sicker than usual.
I'm a partner in a freak show!
I should'a figured it was crazy to stick with this crew
And if you play it smart, there'll be plenty of lettuce for everyone!
I should get my own cable TV show.
Oh, me and my big mouth.
It is the cure! It has to be!
Of course it's the cure! You must trust me!
It was you all along! I trusted you!
You turned me into a monster and I defended you!
I'm sorry it had to turn out this way.
You always overplay your hand
Tell me something' Why me?
You're old, and getting older.
I thought you might even appreciate the opportunity.
Growing old terrifies you, doesn't it?
Nothing terrifies me, because nothing is beyond my ability to change.
True immortality isn't about living forever, man; it's about what you do with the time you have.
When all your scheming's done, what will be your legacy
You're still alive! It's a miracle!
Boy, the city sure is different when it snows.
Not a bad life, all things considered.
There is a cure. There must be!
You can't keep me in here forever!
I'll get out! Do you hear? I'll get out!
About time you came back.
Why did you kidnap me? What do you want of me?
See, it wasn't as hard as you made it sound.
Ah, you wish to be immortal.
If the procedure is successful, I'll release you.
This is just a sculpture's model. The real thing is life sized, and lifelike.
What's in this for you?
Service is its own reward.
I wouldn't even know where to start looking.
You may as well be of some use to me.
Open this cage, and I'll show you how 'useless' I am.
It's hard to top that.
What you seek demands a heavy price.
Death and old age have their price as well. And it's too expensive for me.
Without your sword, you're helpless.
Swordless? Maybe. Helpless? NEVER!
What you choose to do with your life is your own affair, as long as it's got nothing to do with me.
You're just full of surprises.
No, let him go. He's earned it.
I wish it hadn't turned out this way.
I was so close to finding out if the legend was true. Now there's no one to test it on.
Throw down your weapon!
Is this a whole city of fools and lawless ruffians?
I'm the law here, pal!
You are a guardian, like myself.
I will submit to your law.
You are learning.
It will take some time.
Prepare to do battle!
I have no fight with you.
What is this, merit badge test night?
Oh well, better make sure it's an uneven fight.
The weak are to be protected, not exploited.
Aaah, who died and made you king?
If you don't know anything, why were you shooting at us?
Do I really need an excuse to have a good time in my own home?
They say a man's home is his castle, and what fun would a castle be without a dungeon?
If it gets any more saccharine in there, I'm going to put a finger down my throat.
I'd sure like to know how you got here, but I'm programmed to shoot first and ask questions later.
I demand a favor.
Death is always pointless. That is the point.
I demand reparation! My son was cruelly and unfairly taken from me!
Death is the ultimate fairness. Rich and poor, young and old - all are equal in death.
Our planet cannot support so many lives at once.
I apologize for any trouble I caused in my efforts to reclaim it.
It seems I'm out of practice dealing directly with mortals.
It seems I am unaccustomed to dealing with a god
We have all gained rare enlightenment this night
Mmmm, what a peculiar sight.
Now, that's odd.
Do you often go wandering about at night, young lady?
My dear, are you saying you don't remember your own name?
I can't seem to remember anything. I feel lucky I know how to talk.
How did I end up in the middle of the Pacific?
I guess I could use a ride
I thought you looked familiar. We've met before.
Do you know what a scroll is?
Get your claws off me!
You might want to reconsider your request.
We're gonna die!
I will not let anything harm you.
You win. I'll behave.
I cannot believe you pulled the trigger on me.
Just shut up and land.
I just don't remember! I'm not even sure I want to remember!
I understand your words, I simply do not believe them.
You have been long expected.
This trough is filled with acid. In about ten minutes its going to do a very nasty job on that soil carving, not to mention your rugged good looks.
It's my first real stab at clichéd villainy. How am I doing?
How are you doing this? No machine can hold me!
I should sue you for trademark infringement.
I've always considered myself a trickster at heart.
History cannot be changed.
You will not win!
What are you going to do? Bite my kneecaps off?
I know from experience the transforming power of a child's love.
The future is not written yet.
I have a sunny disposition and I'm always kind to animals
I've always respected you as a fellow inmate
He's a fool, but he may be useful.
I can work with that!
Now, now! That's your friends' genetic make-up you're insulting.
You are master now?
I should've known. But why this subterfuge?
Hey, I live for subterfuge!
I do not want escape, I want vengeance!
There's no such thing as "a little" vengeance.
No catches. No tricks. No strings.
So, things have come full circle.
You know how I feel about you, right?

Hey guys, i'm the anon who made the south park deaths post. It was until I realized, hey! i clearly could've done a better job at the writing so....
Part 1
KENNY:
I breathed in the cold, winter air as it escaped through the windows. I smiled joyfully, another great day in South Park.
I hear my mother call my name, "Kenny! Come on out here!" I quickly put on my orange parka and headed out from my room.
"We don't have anything to eat for breakfast today, so you're going to have to wait until you can eat at school." She sighed. I shrugged my shoulders in disappointment, "Okay.." My muffled voice spoke out. My mother brought up the topic of dad never getting a job and began yelling at him to stop reading playboys, and to actually do something with his pathetic life.
I grabbed my backpack and headed out the door. Maybe once I get to school It'll be better. I thought.
I. Thought.
I was walking down the sidewalk and hear someone call out my name. I looked up and saw Stan waving at me, alongside Kyle and Cartman just with arguing each other.
I made my way to cross the sidewalk, but halfway, I heard a truck honking.. I could hear Stan screaming, Kyle and Cartman still yelling at each other but louder this time, and feel my whole body shiver.
I felt the tip of the truck touch my parka, as if it was in slow motion.. then it all came crashing down on me. I could hear my bones cracking, feeling my limbs be torn apart by the impact. When I was about to cry, I died. Again.
I thought it'd get better.
I thought.
Why does this happen?
Why does god never let me be happy?
I then felt my body again, and this time I wasn't in pain. I was back, again, and It happened, AGAIN.
I woke up and proceeded to finally cross a sidewalk without dying this time. But something felt wrong. Stan looked like shit, as if someone important just died. Right in front of him. So was Kyle and Cartman, but they weren't as bad as him. Cartman seemed more confused than sad, and Kyle seemed more shocked than depressed. "Hey Kenny." Stan croaked. "You're back."
CRAIG:
What a great day to wake up to. My now, EX-BOYFRIEND just broke up with me because of "personal reasons" and that it just "didn't feel right." What a fucking asshole. I've been dealing with your freakouts just for it to come to this? Thanks, Tweek.
I didn't want to talk to anybody today. I'm just so pissed off right now.
I've never felt so horrible in my life. And i've been through stuff, if you know what I mean. I felt worthless, I hated myself. Why can't I be better? No, there's no point to that.
I slammed my locker in anger. It was so annoyingly loud that It gave me a headache. Of course. I felt someone send a glare over my shoulder. I couldn't care less though, I don't care about anything anymore. Except Stripe of course.
Just as I took my first step, I hear the front doors to the school bust open. It was a redneck. He was shouting in such a heavy Southern accent I couldn't even make out what he was saying. It sounded like gibberish almost. I then noticed the shotgun he was carrying. I began panicking and I stared at him like a deer in the head lights. I finally snapped back to reality when he fired his gun.
5. I turned around and started running.
4. I began crying.
3. I felt useless.
2. I felt scared.
1. I felt...
"Oh."
CLYDE:
I cried my eyes out. I've never felt more sad in my life. My throat burned, my heart throbbed, and I lost.. him.
I threw my fists up into the air, immediately slamming them back down again. "That fucking a-asshole!" Snot began dripping from my nose. "I HATE HIM!" I cried out. "IT WAS ALL HIS FAULT, I K-K-KNOW IT! TH-THAT BASTARD!" I started hiccuping.
"You're worthless."
"You're a piece of shit, Tweek."
"You ruined him."
"You can't even button up your shirt correctly! How dumb can you be?"
"He was better without you."
"He was happier."
"He cou-
"Just stop!" Tweek yelled at me. What was his problem? "Listen, I know I wasn't the best, I know I-I could've done better, and I'm sorry, Clyde!" Tweek sighed. "And you've been sh-shitting on me every day because of it, and I want you t-to stop!" I crossed my arms and puffed out my chest.
"And what are you gonna do about it, fuck face?"
"W-Well, I was wondering if we could talk about it at my place. And hopefully, we can resolve our problems."
At first, I thought hell no! I'm not forgiving this asshole so quickly. But then I had an idea.
I'll just kill him.
I applauded myself in my mind for such a great idea. "Fine." I rolled my eyes. "Th-thank you, it'll be at 8 by the way." Tweek quickly left.
After school was over I began running to my house, running through the newly covered snow. I ran through the front door, and closed the door. "Welcome home, Clyde!" My dad smiled. I ignored hus greeting and ran upstairs. Hearing my dad mutter "You must be in a rush..." His voice slowly faded out as I ran into my room. "Time to prepare." I grinned as I pulled out my laptop.
Time skip brought to you by Kyle's great ass.
I began walking to Tweek's house. I hid my butcher knife in my coat. He'll never notice! I glanced up and saw it. It. I noticed I began to sweat, no need to sweat Donovan! You'll just have to carry his body far out to the forest and no one would notice! Then you'll just leave, easy peasy! Tweek's parents were out on a date, so it was just me and Tweek. All. Alone. Together.
I knocked on the door, and it was opened immediately. "Welcome." Tweek's voice was unnervingly calm. "I've got you your favorite drink, Clyde. Why don't you head up stairs so we can talk?" He smiled. "Okay..." I got a bad feeling. I don't know why but.. I did. Something was totally off. Probably because I was going to kill Tweek and my nerves were just getting to me. So I set that stupid feeling aside.
I walked inside Tweek's room, legos were scattered across the floor. "Oh, don't mind that." I jumped. Tweek was so.. close. Wtf. "I was hoping we could try and build something.." He walked over to his desk and set our drinks down. I sat down next to him.
He held up his drink and said "Cheers?" Tweek smiled. I picked up my drink and returned the gesture, "Cheers." I began to chug my drink. Wow, it sure did taste odd.
I set my drink down along with Tweek. But as soon as I did, I felt my stomach explode. I fell to the floor gripping my stomach. I immediately started to throwing up. "WHAT THE FUCK!?!" I began sobbing. Tweek immediately ran over to me, grabbing my hair and shoving me onto the floor. "S-Shut up!" He growled.
"H-HELP!"
I began coughing blood.
"HELP M-ME PLE-PLEASE!"
I started to sob.
"I'M SORRY!"
I felt extremely light headed.
I started to throw up blood.
I felt like my brain was going to explode.
I just wanted justice.
I just wanted to help him.
Somehow.
But I couldn't.
I-

.
.
I failed.
