how did I forgor Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) when I had to list my favourite movies here recently

#seriously if you haven't seen it it's a ridiculous piece of work #and I can't believe it's only 120 minutes long #ok let me be a nerd about this movie for a minute: #it was like cooking in the director's brain for literal decades and that's why it has an insane amount of worldbuilding built in #you don't have to see the previous 3 mad max movies to somehow also understand this world and everything that's going on #and yet it barely takes any time to sit you through long boring exposition chunks? #Like it RESPECTS the audience's intelligence enough to be like 'you guys are smart you will figure it out now let's get moving' #NOTHING is wasted in this movie and you pick up new cool things every time you watch #almost all of it was done practically including the vehicles and stunts INCLUDING stuff like the pole cats on the cars in the final act #in order to make the cars and props they had to build most things from a scrap yard instead of running to home depot for new parts #Every single vehicle and character down to the smallest war boy had their own backstory they made up #the only other movie I feel like i can compare this wonderful weirdness to is maybe the first 3 lotr movies #In terms of the insane work that went into it behind the scenes and the dedication to making the world come alive with so much artistry #and practical effects and years of worldbuilding and writing and the bizarre ways they had the crews bond behind the scenes #also fun fact: the director was also the guy behind Babe the pig movie and Happy Feet hahaha he's a very eclectic director to say the least #anyways now every time I see a movie that's 2.5+ hours long I'm like if Mad Max FR could be 120 mins long why can't YOU be 120 min long? #Like sorry but there's no excuse anymore. just simply get better at telling the story in 2 hours or less my guys #p

You came out of the bathroom with the towel around your body (and a swimsuit underneath which Pablo didn't know) walking past him on the bed and towards the closet to pull out some clothes.

"It's gonna be hot today, amor. We could go to the beach if you'd like??" Pablo said while scrolling on tiktok (that being his favorite thing to do whenever he was bored at home lol).

You smirked fixing the towel so that he can't see the swimsuit before getting out of the closet and placing your clothes on the chair before setting up your phone on the makeup vanity.

"Yeah, we could do that and have some of the chocolate ice cream from the freezer??" you said really craving it and he chuckled nodding his head.

When he saw that you were putting your phone and turning on the camera, he turned off his tiktok and looked at you with furrowed eyebrows.

"Amor, what are you doing?" he said cocking his head to the side trying to understand what the hell you were trying to do pose with a towel in front of the phone screen.

"I wanna film that get ready with me where you drop the towel and then transition to your outfit" you said smartly earning a chuckle form him.

"Your not filming that!" he said jumping to his feet and snaking his arms protectively around your waist from the back pulling you further into him while kissing your shoulder.

"Why?? It's such a cool video Pablo!" you whine and he shakes his head disapprovingly still.

"Because! What if camera catches you naked!? I should be the only one to see you like that! Not half the planet!" he snarled and you rolled your eyes saying you will get the timing right.

"Amor, absolutamente no! Tu estas mía!" he said trying to take your phone but you grabbed it first pecking his lips and telling him to wait on the bed while you film this and then you can go get that ice cream.

"Pero.." but you shut him with a kiss and he rolls his eyes moving to the side but still close enough while watching you set the timer and get ready to film the video.

"3..2..1.." but just as you were about to let go of the towel, Pablo rushed in front of you to cover you up as you bursted out in laugher like a maniac.

"Estas loca!? You can't film yourself naked and post for the whole world cuando tienes novio! That would be the same as me whipping out Pablo Jr in the middle of the game!" he was talking while staring at the screen hoping it didn't catch anything not even looking to see why you were laughing. Hello hello, hope you’re doing well! I just wanted to know ask this: How do you do so many things (art, web development, etc.) and keep a constant passion of it? I always seem to drop hobbies/work because I don’t see anything beyond it for me and I want to know if you’ve ever had to combat that? (It sounds like a lengthy question, but I just wanted to know from your point of you)

ooh it definitely seems that way out in public, but i do get burned out with specific hobbies! especially back in my teen years. i would always think "it has to be one or the other" when it came to art, programming, and music, but i realized throughout my young adulthood that all of these things make me really happy and i don't really wanna go through life without knowing what it feels like to touch on each of them

i definitely still get burned out by them! if i program more than 3 hours a day my head starts hurting because my brain is small and if i draw for more than 12 without breaks (which i have done before for work) i stop drawing completely for a while HAHAHA i think i've also just found a point where i know how much of what hobby i can handle per day per week 👍 and i need to stress that i love the mediums a lot!

one thing that helped me greatly is looking at really cool work from really great people and changing my mindset from "i can never be as good as them, why am i trying so hard?" to "wow, it would be really cool if i could get good like that -- i want to try!" after switching to that thinking, i started thinking that i'd always improve as long as i keep at it and stay inspired (even if the progress isn't as fast as i want it to be)! another thing is that i really enjoy doing these things, i have a lot of abandoned projects throughout the years, but that doesn't mean i can't or shouldn't start new ones. dont gatekeep urself!!!

it's definitely a hassle when u start mixing it in with time management and overthinking ur capabilities!! but if it ultimately makes you happy then scheduling a few hours per day can go a long way for your mental wellbeing. a hobby should feel fun :)

overall rating of Tommyinnit “how to be a billionaire” show: 8.5/10

better than I thought it was gonna be and brought up a good amount of niche stuff for og fans while making it easy for the parents of the audience to understand

my specific crowd was quite rowdy lmao and it’s pretty funny that all 3 of them acknowledged it so that was a fun thing

A tincy bit too many genital, poop and 2020 jokes for my liking, but none of them were really bits so it was fine lolz

(This one is a lil spoily so read on ur own accord) almost a main charter death in it which made me giggle quite a bit (I’m sorry I just can not take u seriously in this setting Tommyinnit)

the story line was a lil wonky but there’s only so much u can do with stuff pertaining his actual life so I can’t complain to much hahaha

many voice features and singing which I didn’t necessarily expect but it was quite fun

surprisingly barely any time spent on DSMP

lots of people in merch of all kinds in the audience (mostly Tommy, techno and Ranboo lolz) and many people complimented my 2021 limited edition red Tubbo hoodie (had to prove I was an OG LMFAO that was a joke it was the only merch I brought to college tehe)

cool merch for sale that I unfortunately could not afford nor get a hold of but I would highly encourage people to get them if u can

overall I think it was worth seeing even tho I only bought the tickets 3 hrs before the show cause I was scared of the price commitment and if I would even enjoy it so if ur on the fence about it as well, u should go it was very fulfilling of my 2020/2021 heart and self :))

also yes there is a happy ending and he took a selfie with the crowd at the finale bow :D

Shall we talk ☆Pillar Filler???☆

(As well as the rest of the episode?)

Keeping it behind a cut because it's not yet available for everybody and a lot of people will appreciate being surprised (I know I did)!

First, how about that new OP??

I love how it sets this arc up for being a pause in the constant life or death struggle (for the Pillars anyway, hahaha), and pricks at how the Pillars always feel they are struggling to compensate for their weaknesses, and the inky hatred that fills their hearts which Oyakata-sama knows they've channeled into defeating Kibutsuji Muzan at all costs. I also had a passing thought the other day about how so many Japanese legends of demon slaying require the hero to call upon a non-human higher power, or use something like a poison or alcohol to weaken a demon before they stand a chance of defeating it. In the end, the medicine that Tamayo and Shinobu develop does serve this crucial role (and the sun fulfills the role of a higher non-human power), but it's otherwise ironic that instead of temporarily weakening a demon to their own level, the usual course of action is to use Breath to temporarily increase their power to that of a demon.

Attaining a mark sure increases the role that "temporary" already played in their lives, and it's really no question that they would choose to pursue that option, even knowing the result.

So anyway, onto that filler!!

I loved it.

First, the nitpicking just to get it out of the way: why did a demon need to bother tying up a victim???? Whhhhy? Like, at least they didn't pull a Speedy with some contrived "this demon just toys with victims and leaves them injured instead of killing them" routine that makes for a happy low-stakes Piller Filler episode while showing utter disregard for what demons are and why the Corp risks themselves to stop them. (That said, I always love seeing other Corp members fulfill their own Corp duties with no relation whatsoever to Tanjiro, who is just one piece of a much, much larger whole.)

But rather than write what would ultimately be stupid dialogue with an insignificant filler demon, it's nice that Ufotable did not bother developing the Castle Demon. The totally undeveloped baddies are easy to cast off as Blood Technique (but maybe they could have looked a little cooler if, like, they were vaguely wearing samurai armor or something instead of just being in skin suits? Whatever, not important.) I appreciate that Ufotable did not bother to answer these questions of "why is the victim tied up" because the point of this scene was very obviously not about her or the demon. (I like to think Iguro cut the ropes and then told her to get to safety but just, like, left her there on the top roof).

So as for what this scene WAS for... hot dang, did it accomplish that!!!

The purpose was to make Sanemi and Iguro look cool, and it sure as hell did that. WHAT GOOD CHANBARA, those show-offy sword-play moves against a mob of nameless villains were just so deliciously well choreographed, and the people who can appreciate that were also likely to really appreciate the use of a castle as a purely fun battle setting. Ufotable was probably like, "Our biggest fans are nerds for KnY's touches of traditional Japanese folklore and culture, and for swords and swordplay, so you know what else will probably get them riled up? Yeah, let's give them a castle fortress."

And then everyone cheered, like, "Yes, yes, the fangirls like demonslayedher on Tumblr will never know what hit them."

But then some brilliant person spoke up and said, "You guys, I have the perfect finishing blow."

And everyone said, "What? How could we possibly top this scene that not only purely makes Sanemi & Iguro look cool, but also serves their characters and the plot nicely by showing how the Pillers don't feel they can rely on the other Corp members, and that even though they speak sharply to them they show concern for them by their actions? You know, especially slyly since anime-only fans will get to appreciate a new side of characters whom they haven't gotten to bond with much yet for only having seen their mean sides mostly and none of their battle coolness, and also slyly because the hardcore manga fans know that these two are buddies?"

And then the brilliant person says, "Let's give them that fortress."

The brilliant person was then crowned Ruler of Ufotableland and the fans lived happily ever after.

Speaking of Pillar Filler, I also want to point out how nice that opening exposition between Shinobu and Kanao was. First, what a nice way of incorporating Kanao into a nice episode that gives us a nice little dose of everyone in the Corp cast, even by adding that little scene of Amane and Ubuyashiki too. I loved the little touches that develop the Butterfly Mansion, like the fact that on the path there, they have a stone sign that says "Butterfly Mansion" and a line of carved Jizo statues (to protect travelers and (deceased) children) with little butterflies. And that moment of Nezuko frowning as the sunlight goes behind a cloud? Wonderful. And Shinobu essential saying to Kanao, "I trust you with defending everyone here in the now VERY LIKELY EVENT OF KIBUTSUJI MUZAN ATTACKING while I have to go off to a Pillar Meeting now that you're back"? I looooove iiiiiiiiit. That also says a lot about the trust other Pillars have in Shinobu to entrust her with Nezuko instead of putting any pressure on her to take part in Pillar Training, as clearly they don’t know about Tamayo, and it's really anyone's guess if they know about the poison or not (though the light novel implies Himejima might have an inkling but doesn't know). Being Pillars, though, I doubt any of them would tell her she's wrong for being prepared to take down a demon in any possible way.

I love, love, love, love the treatment of all the straight-from-the-manga scenes, like "Welcome home, Inosuke" (except for the added 'did you miss me, Aoi-chan' because canonically Aoi is the one kind of girl who is not his type), Tamayo speaking with Oyakata-sama's bird, Mitsuri's "explanation" of the mark, and every single Pillar interaction. I love the amount of respect they show to Himejima (and how Ufotable slightly expanded on this), and I am so excited for the extra Himejima content this season. In the new marketing materials released on the same day as the episode/movie, they make stark use of one of the kanji characters in his name ("cry out"), which is a very nice touch. And the use of BGM!!! Especially the touches of Giyuu's and Mitsuri's themes during the meeting!

Deadlight turtles with a very naive Reader. Inspired by the IT turned Good comic/au.

Reader was not meant to still be alive. She should have died a long time ago when she encountered Mikey in the sewer drain. But she never took the bait. Never reached her hand in... Instead, she happily talked with Mikey, full heartedly believing his story of a circus that had blown him and his brothers into the sewers and showing true sympathy. Mikey was made fun of when he came back to the lair empty handed by his brothers after Reader had to eventually leave.

The worst of all... the brat left a bag of kettle corn and hot coco by the same drain the next day on her way to work. She was mocking his failure, he knew it. So that night... Leo tried to get her.

He too failed to kill her. She didn't even look scared when she woke up to see his large form carefully standing on the end poles of her bed frame with impressive balance, crouched over and holding two cups of hot chocolate. At first, she was a bit confused- but then had the audacity to look happy to see him. Glad to meet one of Mikey's brothers, she had explained. Leo wanted to rip her apart then and there, but how she looked up at him with such big old happy eyes as she accepted when he offered her a cup of coco.. He hated her. He hated that he couldn't kill her. He hated that she wasn't afraid.

This cycle repeated with Donnie and Raph both in their respective orders. They would meet and try to kill Reader, at least scare her- but any and all attempts failed before they would fully try. Not even a stutter of her heartbeat, or a flinch! Was she truly a human like what the brothers had been preying on for centuries?

This loop of trial and failure continued until it all came to a head when Reader was cornered and threatened by the Mud Dogs (who I imagine are Henry Bowers' gang in this au sorry jdsn) at the creek. Mikey was the one to save Reader before anything could happen, using his shapeshifting powers to turn into a twisted bird like monster and scaring the yokai- nearly eating Leonard in the process, if the pesky mortal didn't shoot him and make Mikey let go before he could take a bite.

When it was over and the gang had fled, Mikey shifted back to normal- a crack in his plastron from the bullet and his blood floating upwards as it exited his body. He watched as Reader got over her shock, looking towards Mikey. He really hoped that now she got it, now he had finally scared her...

But she instead looked at him with adoration. She began to happily ramble about what just happened, laughing at how the Mud Dogs had run away.

"why..."

"Huh?"

"Why aren't you.. afraid?"

"Why would I be afraid? You're my friend!"

". . ."

Mikey wanted nothing more than to rip her throat out, but he knew he would never be able to bring himself to actually do it. So instead, he snapped at her, yelling about how he nor his brothers were her friends.

"Why of course you are! I got you popcorn, Leo got me cocoa- Raph made me a plushie, Donnie made me this cool tech thingy, you all come visit regularly and you just saved me! That's stuff friends do!"

"It would be too easy to- you can't even comprehend what I- Do you know who I am? What I am?! I- You-"

"Have you guys never had a friend before..?"

"I-"

"Look... I'm not dumb, I know the whole story about people going missing every so years. About monsters in the sewers... and if you can turn into that- I guess you are those monsters. But, I think you're good monsters. Why else would you hang out with me so much?"

That caught Mikey off guard.

"'Good... monster..?'"

He started to laugh. At first it was a tiny giggle, then it ramped up to full on hysterical laughter.

"Good monster?!"

Mikey howled, hunching over gripping his stomach. That's when Reader fully took notice to his wound.

"You're bleeding!"

"Good monster!! HAHAHA HAHA HA-"

When she turned to her bag to try and find something to help him, Mikey was gone- his floating blood the only thing left to prove he was there at all...

Down in the lair, Mikey was rolling on the floor- still hysterically laughing. Good monster, she said!

He grew longer claws, using them to pick out the bullet from his chest. Once the object was out, his wound healed almost immediately. He threw the bloody ball away carelessly, rolling onto his stomach. His sharper claws tore into the cement below him with a loud grating noise. Mikey let out a long sigh, calming down from his fit.

'Good monster'... right.

killer: oh, stop being so dramatic, dust. it's not that big of a deal, you fly around on your blasters all the time!

dust: wha- not that big of a deal? not that big of a deal?! it's different with my blasters because at least i have some form of ground to stand on, but skydiving is-

horror: okay, there we go, fixed. dust, shut the hell up. honestly, killer's idea was terrible in the moment, but now that i'm looking back at it... skydiving was kinda fun. so we're doing it again.

dust: what?! are you insane?! are both of you deranged and demented?? let- let go of me! no! no!!

horror: we are insane and demented. happy birthday killer. for once i'm actually glad you came up with this idea.

killer: aww, thanks horror, love ya too~

horror: nevermind.
