Day 4 #FINDINGMANTRAS is "What you seek is seeking you" paired with any arm balance and @outboundyogi challenged us to do a pose that isn't easy for us...snd I chose #shoulderpressure pose - elephant trunk pose is the only one I can say I do quite well! 😌So it wasn't hard to pick one 😝However I find today's mantra to be very freeing...for me it takes a load of worry and self doubt out of the equation because you know that you will get what you want, eventually. I remember when I first started practicing yoga I really wanted to be able to master all the fancy poses, and of course inversions and wanted to push myself to get there before it was time. I think what lead me to realise that things happen when they're meant to (or most certainly when we let go) when I was doing an Instagram challenge about two years ago. There was an arm balance (elephant trunk pose) that I had first met 8 months prior at a yoga studio and I could barely lift anything off the ground while others could and did! I was annoyed and frustrated! So when I saw the pose of the day I immediately knew there was no way it was going to happen. But to my surprise it did! I lifted myself off my mat! I floated! I couldn't believe it. I had no idea I would've been able to do it! Thing is I didn't even bother trying that pose since that day at the studio! I accepted it wasn't going to be and forgot about it. I think what happens is that we become so focused on our desires and try to do things to make them happen, we get in our own way. The only work we really need to be doing is to be happy with where we are and take comfort knowing that in time, in the absolute perfect time, everything we want, everything we desire, will fall into place. What we seek, is most definitely seeking us and I've seen evidence of that in my life almost daily.
