I need Aziraphale learning very quickly that being kind and considerate gets him nowhere in Heaven, so he tucks away his goofy, big-hearted nature and just turns into a maliciously compliant Bitch™.
This is a man who canonically has "discouraged" multiple mobster groups threatening to burn his bookshop, who has successfully scared hundreds of customers away by being just unpleasant enough and who dropped down three octaves to correct Furfur when he messed up his name.
He swallows his pride, puts on a power suit and starts executing a Corporate Nightmare upon upper management in Heaven.

君终如日光之芒 ... 却无法再伴君同行。
//
君武勇之处世所罕见 ... 然终有负君之所望。
me for months: i will forever be bugged by the oddly intimate manner of speech in lxy's farewell letter - particularly in the way llh somehow ended up addressing dfs as 君 jun
revisiting the letter qwm wrote to lxy in which she addresses him as 君 jun: OKAY...

highly specific pet peeve of mine when it comes to sab is that none of the characters act with any kind of wariness when they should. like the grisha would not be celebrating in the king’s court with genuine displays of emotion (and obvious shows of rivalry that can be exploited) for all of the otkazat’sya nobles to see. aleksander shouldn’t be showing so much genuine emotion in front of the king or any otkazat’sya (noble or not, they’re all threats to him after all). everyone should be tenser when they’re in court or around authority figures, and the ways they disregard authority are bizarre. that would have you flogged in any monarchy during that time period.
it feels like the writers don’t really grasp the setting or what it means to the characters. these people are soldiers, and even worse, they’re soldiers that are apart of a persecuted class. they should not be so comfortable in areas or around people where they would be thinking about their every little move and how it could be taken advantage of if it was shown. vulnerability should not be tossed around so carelessly by people who should be startlingly aware of life’s atrocities.
honestly, genya is the only character that even acts remotely like she should, in that she is always tense and wary and holding herself like someone who knows they can be hurt at any moment. and even then she’s loose in the king’s court (the king) when she would be at the height of her wariness and paranoia.

I get where people are coming from when they say Diaspro in Winx lost the plot for the sake of being turned into a minor villain and that's all once Valtor enabled her to do what she did in S3, but I feel like that was a reasonable narrative choice. It's only a love potion at that point (while I could go on all day about the ethics of love potions, of course, a later season has her straight up trying to do direct murder). She's a noble, guards will do her dirty work, and I understand that she would feel like getting revenge on Bloom while getting back together with Sky. She was promised a position — romantic AND political — she nearly had and then it was taken from under her by a random fairy who wasn't even "supposed" to be in the running. I don't think what she did was nice, but it makes sense for the story and for her character for her to want to reclaim her position in the way she did. Sky's love was an accessory, in part, to her political ascension, and thus he is again rendered accessory and accomplice by the love spell. And, sending guards after threats seems to be the thing to do in the magical universe if you're a disgruntled noble, so it's probably not unfamiliar for Diaspro to have seen occur before or want to do. It's not a uniquely rotten response any more than Radius' behaviour towards the monster (who, he didn't know it, was Stella). If we fault her for this action rather than only the intention behind it, we need to examine how the worlds in Winx Club deal with threats to their monarchs in general, which sounds interesting but I frankly don't have time for tonight. Diaspro did wrong, but she didn't do uniquely wrong there, and Eraklyon has the punitive security structures in place to have enabled that.
Diaspro's later appearances seem to flatten her motives and the symbolism behind why her relationship with Sky was important and what she does about it (who cares what Diaspro's political aims are and how her status might reflect how she deals with problems, the audience needs to see Bloom thrown into fire I guess), but I feel like seasons 4-8 weren't really that good anyway, so I can't even claim this as a fault of the writers doing Diaspro specifically wrong instead of them just doing the whole show wrong at that point. It might be related, and it might be a coincidence, but a lot of the writing choices seemed to become more flat to me right around when the art shifted to that lifeless godawful Flash simulacrum of S1-3's art.
Also like... idk but if some long-haired hottie wizard in a sick coat and contemplative eyeshadow told me he could help me get my promised chance at both romantic and political success back, I'd at least hear him out, yknow, see what he had to say (<- don't trust me I simp for Valtor)

We’re only over a week late but my ribbons had to be flattened okay!! At the Indy cluster weekend before last miss thang was once again in the select club all weekend. She earned one three pt major and two four pt majors! She’s about halfway to her GCH after two shows 🥺😌 She thinks it’s all boring though, clearly.

I think I tend to read htn as muir playing with tropes commonly used in tragedies to examine what we think is a tragedy/what tragedy even looks like when death isn't the end. That's the most shakespearian thing about her writing imo. I know I am constantly on about how htn is basically a shakespeare play but it IS and that's because she is doing a similar thing with her stories within the story. She is throwing out potential endings left and right and then subverting all of them. That's why I don't think everyone's encouragement to harrow to give up on keeping gideon safe really can be taken at face value. It's like. To use one example (but you literally could insert 5 different plays here) it's like when Isabella thinks her brother is dead. It's forcing the audience to think about the consequences for that but the terrible part is more that there was someone in power who could easily order a death or stop it on a whim. The point is not that harrow needs to learn to let gideon go for moral or self-actualization reasons imo. The point is that the death is a site of potential for harrow to either be manipulated into upholding john's goals or for her to reject the whole premise behind them by deciding gideon's life is more important

why the fuck is it that some people cant seem to acknowledge that people can just... be disabled. not through any fault of their own, not because something "happened" to them, just because, you know, sometimes people have disabilities. like, come on

"Transmasculine people who claim to be adversely affected by sexism are bioessentialists cloaked in progressive language, discrimination on the basis of ""biological sex"" isn't real!"
Oh right, sorry. I forgot that sexism in medical research means that endometriosis, ME/CFS, migraines, post-concussive syndrome, Raynaud's phenomenon, and so many other conditions are only understudied in women. Of course endometriosis For Men™, ME/CFS For Men™, migraines For Men™, post-concussive syndrome For Men™, Raynaud's phenomenon For Men™, etc., are all well-funded fields of research and totally understood. Medical research cares only about the gender of an individual patient, not the association of a condition with people of a certain gender. Patriarchal devaluation of women's health, women's illnesses being treated as fundamentally hysteric, and (peri)cissexist reductions of any individual to the reproductive system(s) they were born with clearly only affect people whose gender is woman, nobody else.
Wilfully ignorant motherfuckers.

I have the annoyingly verbose form of autism, evidenced by the fact I use words like "verbose."
My partner has ADHD and struggles with blocks of text, whether it be processing the words, parsing the text, or even just having the attention span to finish reading the block. Apparently reading is notoriously hard for people with ADHD for a variety of reasons. I'm a hyperlexic autistic who loves reading scientific journals for fun so I don't know what thats like and it sounds unfortunate.
To combat this for my poor Aly, I leave TLDRs at the end of my text blocks in our discord DM, so that if her brain isn't cooperating with my excessive use of the English language she can read a couple sentences that sum up what I said instead!
I think it probably also helps me learn how to be brief when summarizing events to someone.
Either way, making things accessible doesn't have to be a huge grand project. You can just start using TLDRs when you write a big paragraph.
TLDR adhd makes reading hard so to help your adhd having homies you can put a little summary at the bottom of your paragraphs so they can get the idea of the conversation even with a bad attention span!

I think I'm struggling creatively because as time goes on I find less and less motivation to write (and read, tbh!) stuff that's
good wholesome queer representation
escapist everything-gets-better fantasy ("because life is hard enough why would you write about miserable things")
palatable to people who disagree with me
And obviously I'm nowhere near finishing even a single original thing yet ahdfhajf but I've been looking at publishing videos that people who have experience in the industry have made and. Man no wonder that so much milquetoast stuff gets put out nowadays

Saw another one of those posts compiling stupid commentaries of some men complaining about a videogame character looking realistic but also not all too conventionally attractive.. What always sticks out the most is stuff like "if I wanted realism - I'd go outside".
I just really can't comprehend what's in the mind of people who thinks that real women (and sometimes not only women) are ugly, repulsive, and something to "get away into a save haven from once in a while". I remember I once heard a similar criticism towards how I draw humans, too - that "uwu art is supposed to be a challenge to world's imperfections and ugliness, it should be a guiding light and dream of ideal to comfort us sick humans, and you defeat the purpose by bringing all the real world's flaws with you in your art uwu". *smh*
Like, I genuinely can't understand how these loosers even live if normal human faces and bodies are something to dread for them. I know I am constantly raving about how this wretched world is a factory of suffering and no person with basic sanity is glad to have been born at the first place, but even I am surprised when of all things to resent about the world some choose just faces of other idiots living in it??
