Me trying to explain medieval folks Miraculous Ladybug 🐞 :
Disclamer : i do not watch Miraculous Ladybug 🙃 and i personally don't know any medieval person.
A mystic man, known as Hawkmoth, is lurking in the dark, watching over the people downtown for desesperate souls to make devil pacts with.
In exchange of surnatural powers (based on what make them suffer the most), they must obey Hawkmoth and cause chaos in Paris.
Two anonymous heroes in disguise, Ladybug and Cat Noir, current holders of ancient jewel-like magical artifacts, the Miraculous, granting them the power of creation and destruction respectivaly, fight alongside to stop the possessed people from destroying Paris and free them from Hawkmoth's spell.
When they are not battling, the two return in their ordinary lives and complicated romances, not knowing the identity of the other.
Ladybug's real name is Marinette, a humble baker's and a foreigner daughter. Her heart has only love for the handsome and charming Adrien but struggles to be seen by him between the manigeances of the mayor's daughter, who despises her, and his arranged fiancee from a country far in the East.
Adrien, the son of Gabriel Agreste, a rich merchant selling attires and perfumes and an influencial man in Paris, is Cat Noir and in love with Ladybug.
The merchant is also, unbeknowst to his son, Hawkmoth and wants the Miraculous for himself to bring back to life his wife Emilie, recently dead from a mysterious illness.

hi i know the union discussion has been going on for weeks now but could you tell me why gig musicians have never unionized. since in entertainment every department across the board including sound engineers are unionized I wonder if u know. I think that crew like sound and stage guys are union... its strange too when in a writers union everyone from an 6 figure writer to a minimum wage writer are part of the same union. why wouldn't musicians have that? ty
So there’s a lot I don’t know, but this is a question I’ve been interested in a while. And so I do have an answer of sorts - but it’s one put together from a vague interest and may be missing a lot. The short version is that record companies used the disruption of recorded music to deunionise the industry. (And this is only pop music - broadly defined. Classical musicians are still orgaised - at least in some places).
Musicians used to be unionised, back when if you wanted music you had to pay someone to provide it to you. There were musicians unions all over the world. They organised just like in other industries for better pay and conditions.
But starting with people who used to play pianos along to silent movies, gradually many of these people’s work began to be replaced with recorded music. As late as the 1950s, if you wanted to go out dancing, there’d be a live band, but gradually, people would play recorded music instead. That was a lot of musicians out of work.
At the same time, a new model was emerging - that of the pop music superstar. Record companies never employed artists - and from the very beginning the terms of record contracts were incredibly exploitative, but also held out the allure of riches beyond anyone’s wildest dreams.
That combination of a new business model that deliberately set up artists in a way that was a long way from employment (or even self employed workers doing multiple gigs), with the disappearance of the sort of jobs that musicians in unions had been playing - was very effective in deunionising the industry. (I suspect that the fact that pop music in 1950s-1970s period was very iconoclastic, with each wave of new artists seeing themselves as a break from the past also played a role).
Now to me that’s just the start of an answer, not a full answer. Because workers have reunionised after successful deunionisation in other industries times and place. So an account of what happened in the 1950s and 1960s doesn’t explain what hasn’t happened since. I would love to know more about that, either from insiders or people who have researched the topic.

A digital reality, a futuristic environment, yet it somehow feels natural. What is our reality? What is our connection with a moment? How are we living through it? How long is it going to last? Is there anything more than moments, points without dimensions?
Neither we live only in artificial spaces, nor in natural environment. How can we decide what is an artificial space and what isn’t? Either we feel connected or outsider, we still consume.
The light pastels, the feathery feeling of the plastic, broken by the presence of shiny steel and aluminium.
It pulsates, something breaks everything, then all of a sudden everything is together again.
This is the moment of change, the moment that we consume, the moment that means everything.
The brief period of time that is torn apart, yet kept together, where there is no solution, only a state, far away from final.
The change is constant, it’s always only a moment. Disappearing and appearing realities, everything is just almost there but nothing really is.
Is there anything real in this?
