FIVE SONGS / FIVE QUOTES.
Tumblr media
------ songs.
little miss why so / the amazing devil. why so sad? / why won't you let me follow in your footsteps / as you trek into that underground world? / what's that hold that the big dark king of nothing / has got on you, my girl?
two / sleeping at last. i know exactly how the rule goes / put my mask on first / no, i don't want to talk about myself / tell me where it hurts / i just want to build you up, build you up / till you're good as new / & maybe one day i will get around to fixing myself too.
last words of a shooting star / mitski. all of this turbulence wasn't forecasted / apologies from the intercom / & i am relieved that i'd left my room tidy / they'll think of me kindly / when they come for my things.
appointments / julien baker. i think if i ruin this / that i know i can live with it / nothing turns out like i pictured it / maybe the emptiness is just a lesson in canvases / i think if i fail again / that i know you're still listening / maybe it's all gonna turn out all right / & i know that it's not, but i have to believe that it is.
loveology / regina spektor. oh, an incurable humanist you are / [ ... ] loveology, loveology / i'm sorry-ology / forgive me-ology.
------ quotes.
clementine von radics. when i imagine myself i am barely there.
sylvia plath. i wish i knew what to do with my life, what to do with my heart ... i do nothing all day, boredom settles in, i look at the sky so i get to feel even smaller than i already feel & my mind keeps poisoning itself uselessly.
nikos kazantzakis. (tr. by richard howard) she looked like a wounded bird. her smile mingled an ineffable melancholy with its sweetness.
aeschylus. this was always going to happen. / she's been dead since the beginning.
shirley jackson. i am like a small creature swallowed whole by a monster, she thought, & the monster feels my tiny little movements inside.

Character Intro: Anatole (Kingdom of Ichor)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nickname- Tana by her sisters & the rest of The Horae
Age- 32 (immortal)
Location- New Olympus, Olympius (The Royal Palace)
Personality- Being a social butterfly goes well with her sunny disposition. She's also charming, outgoing, approachable, & talkative. She's casually dating.
She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. As the goddess of sunrise her other powers/abilities include limited photokinesis (not as strong as her eldest sister or other light deities, but a bit more stronger than her twin), being able to communicate with some diurnal animals, and limited circadian manipulation (as it relates to the sunrise). She's at her most strongest during the first hour of sunrise.
Tana & her fraternal twin Auge (goddess of first daylight) are members of The Horae.
She lives in an apartment suite at the royal palace, just a floor beneath her twin sister. The walls and ceiling are painted in hues of golden yellow, orange, red, light pink, & pale violet. The furniture style is the perfect mix of modern and coastal. The greatest housewarming gift from Theia (Titaness of sight & heavenly light) hang from her bedroom windows- yellow gold curtains made from the rarest most exquisite satin with added Imperial Gold accents.
Tana towers over Auge and her eldest sister Alectrona (goddess of the sun & morning) with an impressive height of 6''2!
A go-to drink for her are the homemade orange banana smoothies she makes. She also likes orange juice, sparkling grapefruit cocktails, pineapple juice, iced tea, coconut water, mango juice, lemonade soda, bellinis, shirley temples, and golden dream cocktails. Her usual from The Roasted Bean is a large hot decaf cappuccino.
Tana has an animal companion- a pegasus named Callista. She's also a licensed chariot mini-bus driver. One of Tana's main responsibilities is to drive a chariot mini-bus of tourists (pulled by Callista) to the palace when it doubles as a museum. She loves the new faces she meets every month & the new stories she hears when she eavesdrops on their conversations. Tana also makes it a point to socialize with the passengers. She almost always covers the early afternoon shifts at the palace's gift shop.
In the group Tana is closest to Gymnasia (Nasia) (goddess of excercise & gymnastics), Mesembria (Bria) (goddess of the afternoon), and Sponde (goddess of libations).
Daylilies are her favorite flowers!
Even though their sister relationship has had its fair share of ups and downs, there's still love between Tana & Auge. She's constantly trying to get Auge to come out of her shell more. They both respect and look up to elder sister.
She hates when Auge constantly reminds her of being the "older twin."
Her favorite frozen treat is the citrus sorbet (made with oranges, lemon, clementines, & white grapefruit), She always gets an olympian sized cup from The Frozen Spoon.
Tana is well known for her delicious and cheesy croque monsieur breakfast casserole. She even made one for Zeus when news of Hera filing for divorce became public.
She loves using the Glory's Crown citrus superfruit hair oil for her short sunkissed blonde hair.
In the pantheon Tana's also friends with Eudaimonia (goddess of happiness), Matikós (god of performance), Damia (goddess of naturalness), Elpis (goddess of hope), Pherusa (goddess of substance & farm estates), Apólafsi (god of enjoyment), Elais (goddess of oil), Aegle (goddess of good health), Philotes (goddess of sex, friendship, & affection), Sardo (one of The Nesoi), Thilasmós (goddess of nursing), and Hesychia (goddess of quiet, stillness, rest, & silence). She's also gotten friendly with the esteemed Titan family of Hyperion, Theia, Helios, Selene, & Eos- being introduced by her oldest sister. Tana's excited about the invitation she recieved to Hyperion's upcoming yacht party to celebrate the Summer Solstice.
For other work/means of income she models for/endorses Olmorfia, Heavenly Spark, Phaelam, and the newest deal being for the jewelry brand Euryphaessa. Tana also has her own stall at the Emberglow Farmer's Market (in the Hearthwood neighborhood) where she sells various sundried fruits & vegetables.
Her all time favorite dessert is the mango pie from Hollyhock's Bakery.
Her go-to thing to get from The Bread Box is the citrus arugula salad (drizzled in extra honey lemon dressing).
Tana's favorite make-up product to wear is the Olmorfia liquid matte lipstick in the shade "Heat Wave," a burnt orange color.
In her free time she enjoys sunbathing, tanning, sufing, gardening, bike riding, yoga, scrapbooking, jet skiing, shopping, cooking, tennis, and football (soccer).
Her all time favorite meal is fried rice (added with sundried tomatoes) alongside a sweet n' sour glazed grilled salmon.
"Every sunset is also a sunrise. It all depends on where you stand."

Beyond the table, there is an altar, with candles lit for Billie Holiday and Willa Carter and Hypatia and Patsy Cline. Next to it, an old podium that once held a Bible, on which we have repurposed an old chemistry handbook as the Book of Lilith. In its pages is our own liturgical calendar: Saint Clementine and All Wayfarers; Saints Lorena Hickok and Eleanor Roosevelt, observed in the summer with blueberries to symbolize the sapphire ring; the Vigil of Saint Juliette, complete with mints and dark chocolate; Feast of the Poets, during which Mary Oliver is recited over beds of lettuce, Kay Ryan over a dish of vinegar and oil, Audre Lorde over cucumbers, Elizabeth Bishop over some carrots; The Exaltation of Patricia Highsmith, celebrated with escargots boiling in butter and garlic and cliffhangers recited by an autumn fire; the Ascension of Frida Khalo with self-portraits and costumes; the Presentation of Shirley Jackson, a winter holiday started at dawn and ended at dusk with a gambling game played with lost milk teeth and stones. Some of them with their own books; the major and minor arcana of our little religion.

Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Michel Gondry, 2004) Cast: Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Elijah Wood, Mark Ruffalo, Kirsten Dunst, Tom Wilkinson. Screenplay: Charlie Kaufman, Michel Gondry, Pierre Bismuth. Cinematography: Ellen Kuras. Production design: Dan Leigh. Film editing: Valdís Óskarsdóttir. Music: Jon Brion. I have a sneaky feeling that there's less to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind than meets the eye. That it is nothing more than a romantic drama tricked out with intricate storytelling devices like misleading cuts and deceptive flashbacks and an overlay of sci-fi. The story of the affair of two misfits, in this case the morose Joel Barish (Jim Carrey) and the eccentric Clementine Kruczynski (Kate Winslet), has been told before. How far, for example, are Joel and Clementine from C.C. Baxter (Jack Lemmon) and Fran Kubelik (Shirley MacLaine) in Billy Wilder's The Apartment (1960)? The course of true love never did run smooth, but Eternal Sunshine doubles down on that premise, putting Joel and Clementine through the bumpy paces twice, leaving us to ponder if Michel Gondry, Charlie Kaufman, et al. are telling us that their mismatched couple were meant to be together no matter what. Did Joel and Clementine split prematurely, rushing into the radical solution of erasing themselves from each other's memories, when instead if they had stuck it out they could have resolved their differences less drastically? No matter, because Eternal Sunshine is so efficiently and originally accomplished that we can overlook the conventional situation that is masked by so much cleverness. It is certainly the peak of Carrey's boom-or-bust career, Winslet demonstrates once again how superb she is as an actress, and the supporting cast is made up of top-caliber actors. I suspect that the film owes more to the fertile imagination of Charlie Kaufman, who won an Oscar for it (along with Gondry and Pierre Bismuth), and film editor Valdís Oskarsdóttir than to Gondry's direction -- he has yet to make another film as impressive as this one.

Darryl W. Henning (Henning Art Studio) is a local artist selling prints and commissioned art.
About Me:
I'm a third generation artist. Bought my first Airbrush in 1977, found it to be a fascinating tool and control came easy. We opened retail stores after my Air Force jaunt after high school, an airbrushed my way to doing custom pieces for people all over the world. My Brother, Dad (second generation artist) and I ran and did all the artwork for 3 retail stores through the late 80's and 90's and into retirement in 2008. After a few decades of retirement, I've decided to get back to what I love, painting. I'm here to offer my artwork in print form, any size. I work mostly in Watercolor, Colored Pencil, Pen and Ink, Charcoal, Pencil.
Giclée Printing
What is Giclée printing and what do giclée prints mean to artists and photographers?
Giclee (pronounced Gee’clay) is a French term meaning to spray or squirt, which is how an inkjet printer works. However, it is not the same as a standard desktop inkjet printer, and is much larger and more detailed. Giclee prints can be a little over a meter wide and are printed on high quality archival papers. Giclee is the best way to produce archival reproductions of your fine art and photography.
Do Giclee printers use ordinary printers inks?
No. We use only brand name, special light-fast inks. Our inks are archival certified and if treated properly, will last a lifetime. My original 's are professionally large format photographed.
What kind of printing paper is used for Giclee prints?
My Giclee prints are printed on original watercolor paper or they can be canvas printed at extra price.

🍓 + clementine and shirley!
hii mary!! tysm for the ask 🥰
clementine
🍓 clem loves old foreign movies (and old movies in general) and that's why she chose to study languages in university. her dream is to become a movie translator 🎥 it's something her family supports although they worry bc of the financial uncertainty the job brings :( so winning that prize money will really help
🍓 spends most of her childhood in her nana's farm. her favourite activity used to be helping her nana pick fruits from the trees. although she has always longed to live in big cities (and has in fact moved to one for uni and then for her job) sometimes she misses the slow and simple life back in the countryside
shirley
🍓 shir tries her best to climb the e prep's social ladder not bc of her parents' ambition but bc of her own. her goal is to get into a prestigious university so she can leave emerson and never return. and for that, she knows just having good grades is not enough; she needs to have friends in high places too
🍓 her favourite colour is purple so it shows a lot in her wardrobe choices (which are mostly sweaters and long skirts bc she gets cold easily; add chunky platform shoes as a fashion statement). she also loves to wear patterns like tartan and floral
give me a 🍓 and one of my OCs, and i’ll tell you some random facts about said OC
