Hello, my beautiful souls 🖤
I am new admin in admin group and completely forgot to introduce myself to you, please forgive me 🙈 Also forgive this post is so long 😂
I'm 26 years old, typical Taurus person, identifying as she/her.
I'm from Poland, currently live in Warsaw, but I was born in one of the most magical places in Poland, which is known for witches sabbaths. I hope I'll tell you a lot of interesting stories about slavic magick and magical creatures 🧙‍♀️
My history with witchcraft begins in my very young age, my Mom was also into it, so my Grandmother etc. Then in my teens I had a two years episode that included occult stuff, then some 'mixed' magick, I don't want to go too deep with that here, weird times. Now I am mostly into tarot and pendulum, I also use my dreams for divination. Sometimes herbs and teas. Mostly I call myself as a healer or kitchen witch 🧙‍♀️
I have leopard gecko named Felicia which is my familiar, and a pet bunny named Munmun 🦎🐰
I am a music lover, I can't imagine a day without good music and I always have some headphones with me. I played violin for couple of years, but after two accident and few broken bones I had to quit music school. I am still able to play, but it hurts my left arm and wrist.
One of my favorite bands and artists are Dir En Grey, Kagrra, (from which I have also a nickname), Kult, Dezerter, Hey and Katarzyna Nosowska solo, Kora, Molchat Doma, Tommy Cash, Fever Ray, Infected Mushroom, Savant, Deadmau5.
In my teens I was very into punk music, especially Polish punk. Now I just love to listem to some good music, no matter what genre it is.
I am big fan of horror books, mostly by Graham Masterton (which I had a chance to meet 🖤), but I also like Lovecraft's work or Edgar Allan Poe's. I am in love in manga by Gou Tanabe based on Lovecraft's stories. My second fav genre is postapocalypse, I have little collection of books by Polish and Russian authors about Chernobyl, with Stalker vibe ofc. Lately I am also in books about history of medicine, my number one is 'The Butchering Art: Joseph Lister's Quest to Transform the Grisly World of Victorian Medicine' by Lindsey Fitzharris.
My favorite Polish book series is about Jakub Wędrowycz by Andrzej Pilipiuk. Jakub is an old moonshiner and exorcist who has paranormal abilities. He chase demons, ghosts, zombies and aliens and drinks a lot 👌
I play a lot of games. Most time I play Civilization VI, City Skylines, Two Point Hospital, The Binding of Isaac, The Leged of Bambo, Heroes of Might and Magic III and V, Darkest Dungeon, Don't Starve Together, Northgard and House Flipper. I played a lot League of Legends (support mostly), but I lost my team and my heart for this game.
I also like to play rpg's like Warhammer Fantasy, Cthulhu (which I am lately GM myself) or Neuroshima (Polish rpg system placed in USA, year 2054 after World War III, postapocalyptic world based on Mad Max and Fallout).
As a typical Taurus I am Netflix and chill person. I watch a lot of movies and tv series. I have a thing for Asian movies 😅 But my movie number one for all time is Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock. Second is Pulp Fiction by Quentin Tarantino. I love movies made by both of these guys. Other fav movies are Color out of Space with Nicholas Cage, Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Train to Busan. From Asian movies my fav is Takeshi Kitano and his Zatoichi. If you'd like to see some good Polish movies, try Lullaby by Juliusz Machulski, it's dark comedy about Polish vampires. From tv series definetely Parks and Recreation, What do we do in the Shadows.
So I guess that's all about me 🐙 Ask me anything.
Have a nice day/evening 🙃

Goldfinger Section Two
Chapters 12-23
1. As Bond is trailing Goldfinger, he notices a Triumph also trailing Goldfinger. What happens with Bond and the Triumph, who is the driver and what does Bond agree to do? The driver is a woman who gives her name as Tilly Soames, though Bond suspects this might not be her real name. Bond decides it is time to lose her and so he backs into her car. It's not capable of going anywhere so a mechanic takes it. But she is utterly distraught, saying she has an appointment to keep in Geneva and asks if he'll take her the rest of the way. He eventually agrees and she moves her luggage to his car, including a bag of golf clubs. When Bond asks what she's doing in Geneva, she says she's playing in a woman's golf tournament and will then probably explore some of the other courses. This sounds plausible but Bond still wonders if that's what she's really doing.
2. When Bond goes to spy on Goldfinger, what does he find under the tree? What does he learn? So he finds a body under the tree. And it moves. He eventually discerns that it's Tilly and she has a rifle and is waiting for Goldfinger. Which would end very badly for her so Bond grabs her but she tries to fight him so he ends up whispering in her ear that it's Bond and he means her no harm. So then he starts talking to her and asks if she's after Goldfinger. She says that she's there to kill him because he murdered her sister: Jill Masterton. Bond asks what happened and Jill explains that once a month Goldfinger has a girl painted gold. Because he loves gold so much???? So he paints all of them except for their spine because he has to leave some part uncovered or it would kill them. They can't be completely covered in gold or it would fill all of their pores. So once he's done, he has them rinsed off (and saves the gold, I think?????), pays them and then sends them away. Well, Jill called Tilly from the hospital and Tilly rushed over there. Goldfinger had painted her but he painted all of her. He was punishing her for going with Bond. Tilly says she died that night and now she's come to avenge her sister's death.
3. Where does Goldfinger take Bond and what does he want Bond to do for him? Goldfinger drugs Bond and Tilly and takes them to America as "patients" going to see a doctor. When Bond finally wakes and talks to Goldfinger, he learns that Goldfinger has decided to leave Bond and Tilly alive because he wants their help with something. He has been stealing gold for a number of years through different schemes. This time, he wants Bond's help with the last scheme and the biggest. He plans to steal fifteen billion dollars' worth of gold bullion, half the supply of mined gold in the world, from Fort Knox. Yeah, okay. That's going to work.
4. Who is Pussy Galore? Goldfinger invites a bunch of crime families to help with his break in to Fort Knox. Pussy Galore is the only woman who runs a gang in America. She runs a gang of women. She was a trapeze artist and had a team called Pussy Galore and her Abrocats. But the team was unsuccessful so she trained them as cat burglars. It's a Lesbian organization that now calls itself The Cement Mixers and is apparently well respected by the other big American gangs. (How many offensive things can you fit in one paragraph???? Ian Fleming: Hold my beer.)
5. What is Goldfinger's plan? So since it is hot and people are drinking a lot of water, he plans to lace the water supply and drug the entire time. Then, when everyone is asleep, they will infiltrate the town as medics (that's literally why he asked Pussy Galore to join them???? He wants her to provide "nurses"???) and then a team will sneak over to the armory where the gold is kept. To get into there, Goldfinger has purchased a bomb which he will set off after they've moved the sleeping guards out of the way. Then they'll be free to take the gold out of the building, load it into each of their trucks and everyone be on their merry little way.
6. What does Bond leave on the plane? Bond types up details of all of the plans to break into Fort Knox. Then he rolls them up and writes that anyone who delivers the message, unopened, to an address he names will receive a $5000 reward on delivery. Then he seals this up again and writes $5000 reward clearly on the outside. Then he hides it on his person. So while on the plane, he goes to the bathroom and hides the roll in the bathroom, hoping it will be found by a member of the cleaning crew and be delivered for the reward.
7. What happens with Goldfinger and company reach the armory? All of the soldier "bodies" get up and start shooting at them. It seems Bond's message did make it to the right hands and reinforcements showed up to stop Goldfinger. Bond realizes what's happening right on time and grabs Tilly and starts running with her but she wants to stay with Pussy, thinking Pussy will keep her safe. So she tries to break away and Oddjob, chasing them, throws his hat and kills her. He's closing in on Bond when Goldfinger starts his getaway and instead of pursuing Bond, he leaves with Goldfinger. Goldfinger and company escape but the authorities are confident they will catch them.
8. How does the book end? What did you think of this story?Bond is at the airport to head home when his name is called over the intercom. Apparently he needs a shot before he can board the plane??? So he gets the shot and passes out. He wakes up on the plane. It has been hijacked by Goldfinger and company to head to Russia. Well, Bond talks his way out of his restraints and depressurizes the cabin. He wakes up again, this time with Goldfinger holding a gun on him. They fight and Bond ends up killing Goldfinger. The plane stops before Russia and ends up crash landing. Pussy, who was also on board, and Bond were at the back of the plane and were thrown out and then rescued. The book ends with them both in safety and, of course, having sex. (Because James Bond novel. *eye roll*)

Section Two Reading Journal
So. I liked this section better than the first. This section, at least, was all relevant storyline. No twenty page chapters about golf, thank goodness. But I also didn’t really find a lot of this section interesting??? It was definitely a chore to read and I kept going purely because I was getting close to the end and I really wanted to be done.
I definitely thought the most interesting part was Goldfinger’s plan to rob Fort Knox. But that also felt like such a small part of the story? I wish more of the book had been about that and the other crime bosses would’ve been fleshed out more. That’s more the story I wanted to read. That seemed like it had more action.
But, honestly, overall, this book didn’t have a lot of action? It was mostly contained to the last twenty pages and even then it just wasn’t very well written??? I’m really interested in watching this movie now that I’m done with the book. I’m definitely interested in seeing what the movie does differently. It was, after all, the first movie in the Bond franchise so it had to do something right to keep the films going for 50 years? I’ll definitely write a comparison for the movie after I watch it.
For the book? I’m just glad to be done. I had to force myself to keep going with this book and I’m just glad I can finally move on to other things. What a relief!

CANTLON: (FRI) HERSHEY WINS ONE-GOAL BATTLE WITH WOLF PACK
Tumblr media
BY: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings HARTFORD, CT - The Hartford Wolf Pack deserved a better fate. Ed Wittchow's goal with 5:48 remaining in regulation would prove to be the only goal either goalie surrendered in a playoff-type atmosphere as the Hershey Bears tripped up the Wolf Pack in a 1-0 Friday night battle at the XL Center before 4.489 fans. Left winger Ryan Dmowski (Old Lyme/Gunnery) had the puck along the left wing boards, but couldn’t get it past Shane Gersich who won the one on one battle and gained possession. He got the puck to Brian Pinho who found Wittchow open coming off the left point top of the left wing circle he one timed wired a shot off the far post for his fifth of the season. The perfect shot nothing Wolf Pack goalie J.F. Berube could do about it. “It was tough for us it was two huge points we wanted and we know how big games are at this time of the year. We just gotta try to take a positive out of it there were a lot of good things we did tonight,” noted Berube played his fifth game as a member of the Wolf Pack The Pack threw a barrage of 17 shots at Hershey’s Vanacek in the third period and he stopped them all and they came from everywhere and everyone. From Mason Geersten low bullet at 1:21 to Matt Beleskey two minutes later the red light stayed off. Danny O’Regan at 4:25 was denied and then Dmowski on a left wing rush at 5:31 the Wolf Pack were in constant forward motion. Patrick Newell at 12:28 off a smart rush into the Hershey end of the ice was stifled and Nick Jones screaming in off the right wing lost his edge at the last second for his shot attempt. Boo Nieves back in the lineup after 13 games filling in for Tim Gettinger with a high wrister at 10:04 that couldn’t crack the wall Vancek was building around the Hershey net. “We deserved a better outcome. Forget about tonight, move onto to tomorrow and get back at it,” remarked Berube. With a tripping penalty in the final minute of regulation on recently acquired Daniel Sprong it was golden chance for the Wolf Pack, but a six on four advantage couldn’t produce a goal for Hartford. Steven Fogarty had two chances one right on the Bears doorstep, but no room to maneuver to shoot on Vanacek was available. Matt Beleskey backhander missed the target and then Darren Raddysh with the last of his four shots for the game with 11.4 seconds was the last chance that was repelled by the Bears netminder. A last second faceoff win and the found its way to Vinni Lettieri saw his big blast blocked by the Bears Beck Malenstyn went all the way back behind the Wolf Pack net ending the game. The two teams meet again tomorrow at 7pm at the XL Center, but the Bears (36-18-3-3, 78 points) have a five point lead on the Wolf Pack (31-17-6-5) in the Atlantic Division. Utica kept Charlotte five points behind the Wolf Pack with a 2-1 win over Checkers, but Providence moved three points ahead of Hartford with a 2-1 overtime win at home against Springfield. For head coach Kris Knoblauch there is not much you can find fault in a game like this. “Besides the first 10 minutes I thought we played a pretty good game. Give a lot of credit to Hershey they’re a good hockey team.” In the second period only nine shots were registered between the two teams and the Berube an stopped former teammate Matt Moulson’s bid with 2:56 left in the period. Then Philippe Maillet, a fellow Quebecer tried his luck from the right wing as time expired at the end of the second period with the two chatting in French likely about Berube’s snatching his attempt away. “He is friend from back home we chatted a bit nothing too dangerous,” chuckled Berube about a light moment in this intense game. The Pack had two big chances by Vinni Lettieri with just officially counting. Lettieri in his garden spot top of the left wing circle, but on his back foot let one go that hit the post and few minutes later darting off the right wing was stopped by Vanacek with 5:52 left in the period. “It’s a matter time before those go in Vinni had the right spot just hit post there,” remarked Berube. The Pack also weather an intense Bears shift in which they kept Hartford in their zone for almost two minutes The first period was a chess match as each team sought to see where they could create chances, but the period still saw an early momentum swing. Big Mason Geersten nailed Bears forward Shane Gersich with a clean, thunderous check at their blue line in front of the Hershey bench. Wittchow made a bee line from the left defensive side in the Hershey zone to battle Geersten in a spirited heavyweight fight at 6:33 with Wittchow getting the instigator on the play. The Wolf Pack 27th ranked powerplay stalled on that chance and one right afterwards as well. Berube made a superb stop on a two on one break denying Daniel Sprong on his attempt to score early. Berube is familiar with Hershey from his time in Lehigh Valley. “I’m sure there some pre-scouting done on their part, but some on my part too. I know they like to go East-West they like to find those seams, it something they do real well,”. Saturday will be a major test for the Wolf Pack. LINES: O’Regan-Kravtsov-Fogarty Jones-Newell-Gropp Beleskey-Lettieri-Nieves McBride-Dmowski-Ronning LoVerde-Hajek Ebert-Geersten Raddysh-Crawley SCRATCHES: Tim Gettinger - Upper Body - Day-To-day. Yegor Rykov - Healthy Greg Chase - Healthy Gabriel Fontaine - Shoulder Surgery - Season-ending NOTES: Knoblauch was non-committal about his starting goalie for Saturday’s night rematch. UCONN lost Friday night in their regular season finale in Lowell 3-1 to UMASS-Lowell to finish at .500 overall at (15-15-4 and 12-10-2 in HE). The loss took away any chance of a home playoff game and will finish 5th or 6th and might play with Boston University or Northeastern next weekend. Yale University lost Game 1 of their ECACHL opening round playoff game series 3-0 to Union College. Big off ice changes, the Springfield Thunderbirds announced on Friday they have signed a standard five year affiliation/partnership agreement with the St. Louis Blues starting next season. Blues needed a new home after the San Antonio Rampage their present AHL farm team was sold to the Vegas Golden Knights last month. The team will be moved there to play in the fall at the Orleans Arena in the fall as likely the Las Vegas Silver Knights until their new arena, the Lifeguard Arena presently under construction is completed. The current parent team, the Florida Panthers who never wanted to be in Springfield in the first place will be heading a little closer to home to Charlotte, North Carolina. Where they will surprisingly take the place of the nearby Carolina Hurricanes who we first reported three weeks ago are moving their farm team prospects to Chicago to hook up with the Wolves to save money. We learned from an NHL source they did try to buy the Wolves, but owner Donald Levin’s price tag was a tad steep for the team. Stockton and Calgary have extended their agreement by another year to tidy up all the AHL off ice business for the year. The hockey world lost one of its best players today as Henri “The Pocket Rocket” Richard passed away at the age of 84 have battled Alzheimer’s the past several years. His career numbers were simply stupendous for a player who stood in the shadow of a legendary brother, Maurice “The Rocket” Richard. Richard was captain of the Canadiens from 1971 to his retirement in 1975, succeeding the legendary Jean Beliveau, with whom he shares the record of playing 20 seasons for the NHL club. He was nicknamed the Pocket Rocket for his five-foot-seven, 160-pound frame. Despite his small stature, Henri Richard was a giant in the game playing 1,256 regular-season games, another Canadiens record that he still holds. He scored 358 goals and had 1,046 points, third in team history behind Guy Lafleur (1,246) and Beliveau (1,219). He also amassed 129 points in 180 playoff games. His 11 Stanley Cups, one more than Beliveau and another former Canadiens captain Yvon Cournoyer, is unlikely ever to be surpassed. Seven were won when the NHL had only six teams. He was known for his playmaking skills and determination with and without the puck, Richards twice led the NHL in assists, with 52 in 1957-58 and 50 in 1962-63. He had nine 20-goal seasons, including a high of 30 in 1959-60. He won the Bill Masterton Trophy for sportsmanship and perseverance in 1974 and was selected to four league all-star teams. The Canadiens retired his number 16 on December 10, 1975, and he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979. Read the full article

Rugby: Heartland Championship's third round sees several tryscoring thrillers
New Post has been published on https://diary.nz/rugby-heartland-championships-third-round-sees-several-tryscoring-thrillers/
Rugby: Heartland Championship's third round sees several tryscoring thrillers
West Coast and North Otago continued their unbeaten runs on top of the Mitre 10 Heartland Championship table, but not without clawing their way back from big deficits after the third round was marked by a number of 80 minute thrillers on Saturday.
After last week’s round was split across Friday evening and Saturday afternoon games, most fixtures were back in their regular 2.30pm timeslots, and for Greymouth fans who chose to go to John Sturgeon Park instead of staying home to watch the All Blacks vs Tonga, they got their money’s worth.
Trailing 31-14 at halftime, West Coast engineered a stunning comeback to beat Mid Canterbury 43-41 in a 13-try shootout.
The home side had their first converted try inside of five minutes, but Mid Canterbury dotted down three times to take a 19-7 lead out of the first quarter.
West Coast closed the gap to five points with another seven-pointer, but Mid Canterbury went over two more times before the break, their first-five Corey McKay having converted three of their five tries, to raise a 17-point buffer.
Returning from NZ Heartland XV duties, Mid Canterbury flanker Seta Koroitamana would score a double in the match, as did winger Manasa Bari, who like fullback Matt McAtamney posted tries for the second week in a row.
The visitors would get their sixth try in the second stanza, with McKay converting it plus popping over a penalty, but they were now desperately trying to hold back a red and white tide, as the West Coast came charging home.
The hosts dominated the third quarter with three tries, one converted, to tie the scores up 31-31, and although Mid Canterbury traded tries with West Coast to move back ahead 41-36, the Coasters were good for one more seven pointer.
Sweating on the conversions, the home side used three different kickers as fullback Todd Struthers, centre Sean McClure and first-five Jesse Pitman-Joass all added crucial extras.
Lock Sam Liebezeit scored two tries, having also dotted down last week, while West Coast welcomed home their NZ Heartland reps in captain Troy Tauwhare and second-five Sione Holani to grab five pointers.
Taking maximum points from a match which at one point they looked like getting nothing, West Coast kept the top spot from likewise unbeaten North Otago, who performed their own miraculous comeback for an important North Island tour win, beating Poverty Bay 34-30 in Gisborne.
The home side would lead by ten points at halftime, as they opened the scoring through a penalty from fullback Andrew Tauatevalu, about to have another high-scoring day, as he also got their opening converted try for 10-0.
North Otago closed the gap with first-five Mike Williams dotting down and his proficient goal-kicking halfback Robbie Smith adding the extras, before the teams traded seven pointers through Poverty Bay winger Scott McKinley and visiting No 8 Charles Elton.
In what could have been the decisive moment, Poverty Bay got an automatic seven-point penalty try on halftime when North Otago deliberately knocked the ball down in front of the line.
Not discouraged, North Otago began the second half with a Smith penalty, before Tauatevalu responded in kind for 27-17.
North Otago then kicked it up a gear as centre Clement Gasca scored, with Smith coolly adding the extras and then another penalty to lock up the scores 27-27 with 15 minutes left.
Poverty Bay moved ahead again with Tauatevalu’s third penalty, but North Otago kept coming and who else could be the hero but their local legend Ralph Darling – as the centenarian-capped player and former skipper came off the bench to score the match-winning try in the 76th minute.
Underneath the unbeaten sides, there was considerable movement on the points table, as the teams who picked up their second win from three games made rapid advancement.
After being disappointing last week against King Country in Taupo, Buller welcomed back lock Jeff Lepa and their talisman first-five James Lash from NZ Heartland XV duties, and it was Lash brought the magic again with a penalty 8m in from touch to get his side up 22-21 over a gutted Wanganui at Victoria Square.
Perennial Meads Cup contenders, Wanganui have now dropped their three opening games for the first time in 14 seasons of the Heartland competition.
The visitors started well enough to lead 14-0 as winger Vereniki Tikoisolomone scored two tries, the first coming off a three vs one overlap and then winning the race to the ball after a kick ahead into the same corner.
First-five Craig Clare, back from being the NZ Heartland XV fullback, converted both tries from near touch, and Clare’s absence would be keenly felt after he could not play the second half following an injury to his pectoral muscle.
After a mistake-riddled first half, Buller gave themselves some hope while Wanganui conceded points right on halftime for the third straight game, as home town winger Alex Paterson scored down the short side after buildup from Lash and centenarian-capped halfback Andrew Stephens.
Buller closed up to 14-12 after the break as they put the ball through the hands for the other winger Petaia Saukuru to score, with Lash converting from touch, before Wanganui took advantage of a scrum ball popping out for halfback Lindsay Horrocks to feed his prop Raymond Salu, who dashed 30m under the posts.
Down 21-12 with 15 minutes left and trapped in their own half, Buller needed something and Lash provided it with a quick tap and dash through the defenders to run deep into Wanganui’s 22m, with the ball then spread back towards the middle for second-five Iliesa Ravudra to cross on the other side the posts.
From the kickoff, Wanganui foolishly tried to spread the ball and run out of their own 22m, but got trapped in the ruck near the sideline and Lash raised the flags with his pressure three pointer.
Wanganui had a penalty opportunity of their own on a similar angle approaching injury time, but reserve first-five Dane Whale could not connect.
James Lash was the hero again for Buller in their one-point win over Wanganui in Westport.
Their second home win was not quite enough to move Buller into the top four, as Thames Valley continued to shake off their shock start from the Poverty Bay loss to pick up a comfortable 43-15 win over a brave East Coast in the early 12.50pm kickoff match in Paeroa.
In the battle between the defending Meads Cup champions and winless wooden-spooners, Thames Valley made a swift start to lead 17-0 after the first quarter, but the visitors hung tough to get their three unconverted tries on either side of halftime to close the gap to 24-15 after 42 minutes.
However, Thames Valley, playing without NZ Heartland XV captain Brett Ranga, stayed composed to run in three more tries, converting two, while keeping East Coast from their second bonus point in as many games.
Bay of Plenty import second-five Danny Kayes picked up a double, as did returning NZ Heartland XV winger Harry Lafituanai, while flanker Laulea Mau, promoted into the starting XV, scored for the second game in a row.
After his Heartland record-equalling seven penalties against Wanganui, this time first-five Regan Crosland just had to kick three conversions.
The visitors five-pointers came from second-five Tawhao Stewart, flanker and captain Hone Haerewa, and winger Epeli Lotawa to follow up last weekend’s fine try.
South Canterbury have also shaken off their stumbling start, while Horowhenua-Kapiti will need to go away and have a rethink, as the Lochore Cup champions were smashed 57-7 in Timaru.
The visitors welcomed back all four of their NZ Heartland XV reps into the starting lineup, but they fell apart in the third quarter as South Canterbury raced away for 38 points in 20 minutes, with Horowhenua-Kapiti having a man in the sinbin at that time.
South Canterbury had led 12-0 at the break through tries by fullback Zac Saunders, for the second week, and flanker Cam Russell, with Theo Davidson adding a conversion before he would make way for returning NZ Heartland XV halfback Willie Wright, coming on at halftime.
Wright would kick with 100 per cent accuracy for six conversions, plus a penalty, as his side went roaring into the head wind in the second stanza.
Tries came from the other Heartland XV returnee in Kalavini Leatigaga, winger Clarence Moli to follow up last week’s double, along with Joel Smith and Solomone Iavaka.
A seven-point penalty try added to Horowhenua-Kapiti woes.
Both team’s ran on their benches for the final quarter, where the visitors finally got a reply converted try from centre Junior Laioifi off a kick and chase, although the home side had the last word when prop Tokomaata Fakatava dotted down.
And after playing in a prime time televised match under the big lights of Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr Stadium last week, Wairarapa Bush were back home in Masterton and pulled out a 37-31 win over King Country in another high try-scoring thriller.
On their fast-running artificial turf, Wairarapa Bush score 15 unanswered points to start and would then take a 25-14 lead into halftime, before King Country came charging back with two more tries to lead 26-25 with quarter of an hour remaining.
It would be an eventful 15 minutes, as the home side scored to regain the advantage, and then seemed to have sealed the match with a converted try for 37-26 in the 72nd minute. However, King Country went hunting from the kickoff and gave themselves a chance with their fifth try to close back to within six points with four minutes left.
The home squad held out, despite the squad missing a few injured players, with skilful winger Tristan Flutey getting a double to make it three tries in two home games, while Brendon Campbell came off the bench to also get a brace.
King Country’s tries were shared around the park through No 8 Chulainn Mabbett-Sowerby, lock Josh Balme, second-five Brad Armstrong, winger Tayne Tupaea and reserve Alex Thrupp.

Yesterday Was a Lie
Director: James Kerwin
Writer: James Kerwin
Stars: Kipleigh Brown, Chase Masterson, John Newton
Another neo-noir tale filled with delightful clichés?  Well, yes.  But that isn’t the point.  Yesterday was a Lie is, in fact, actually quite a smart little story with some refreshing elements of more modern movies that , taken together, really make something special.  It’s relatively low budget, not the best of acting, but overall the effect is delightful and good to watch.
The nonlinearity of the plot, or the appearance of nonlinearity, lends to the plot well and keeps the theme of the film on track.  We see Hoyle (Kipleigh Brown) trying to solve a case that keeps her crackpot noir mind up at night.  All the while she also tried to find her former romance Dodis (John Newton).  During her free time Hoyle frequents a small bar where a mysterious lounge singer (Chase Masterson) leads Hoyle to suspect everything isn’t entirely as it seems.
As the film progresses the nature of the world as a whole seems to become more and more skewed all somehow revolving around Hoyle.  Yet as the film concludes, we the audience is left without a definitive answer.  While the smacks of a less than thought out finale, it fits well with the story thus far and leaves with a sense of grace.
It’s a simple tale, to be fair not the best thought out.  However there’s a magic to it that transcends notions and impresses the viewer despite any preconceptions.  A worthy film in spite of everything and worth a look should you want a noir tribute worthy of the genre.
