I accidentally stumbled upon some Spider-man 2099 comics and since I can't watch across the spiderverse in theatres (photosensitivity sucks) and Miguel O'Hara has become a constant presence on my dash/home in almost literally every social I have I decided to give it a go and see who this guy is and why is the internet so obsessed with him all of a sudden I wrote down some notes while I was reading so here we go. Xenon reacts to Spider-man 2099
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's giving me a loooot of cyberpunk and blade runner vibes from here and ngl I dig it
I already notice the suit is a little different but not too much? The spikes in the forearms here are less noticeable at least. And I didn't remember ever seeing the webbing
Tumblr media
I love this pose
Tumblr media
Oh my god this is so me fr fr
Tumblr media
PFFTDHFS I MADE A LOUD SNORT ok I like this guy
Tumblr media
He seems like that type of 90s savage-edgy-I-hate-everyone guy, so far considering the context he's kinda funny
Tumblr media
I don't know how much they've changed about his backstory in atsv so I'm writing it all down as it's told in the comics
So his father was a scientist working for this Alchemax and the corporation kinda groomed both since they were children to become their top tier geneticists and work for them. They've invested a lot on Miguel and they use it to have a hold on him, since he's the only guy not addicted to the Rapture which is a very nasty and genetically bound (?) drug only Alchemax is allowed to distribute.
The corporations is running genetic experiments to enhance human abilities and all of that using animals as source, the latest project was an attempt to replicate what happened to Spider-Man in ma marketable way
Except they've become pretty savage with it and started doing experiments on humans (starting with criminals) BEFORE it's confirmed to be safe. And the last one miserably failed (or grandiosely succeeded, depending on the point of view - the guy actually came back with super strength and all of that but he was a heavily disfigured mutant who tired to strangle O'Hara and died short after).
So Miguel said fuck this shit I'm out
(cw: drugs from there on)
Tumblr media
... Except they poisoned his drink with a dose of Rapture and how he's screwed. "oh no worries Miguel we're not forcing you to stay" my ass.
Tumblr media
fucking bastardssssssssss
Tumblr media
FUCKING BASTARDSSSS
honestly though "rapture" as a name choice is sooooo 90s. I remember reading Infinity Crusade (1993) a few months ago and there too they made a big deal about something they called "the rapture". And goddess and holiness and penitence and sinners and REPENTTTT and other overly Christian stuff like demons that was littering everything I've read from that time (which is just all the Moon Knight stuff that got out in that period but-)
the satanic panic hit hard huh
So anyway if Miguel doesn't do anything to fight this rapture thing he's royally screwed and forced to keep working on them
Tumblr media
So he remembers that for lab tests he was using his own genetic material so he's got a full backup of it pre-rapture and he's planning to use the machines at the lab to overwrite the changes the drug made
sound good to me, quite a solid plan
Tumblr media
Except this guy, who Miguel insults regularly on daily basis, decides to take his petty vengeance switching the "clean" O'Hara backup with the one they're experimenting with for the spider project.
Well this is fine
Tumblr media
AND ON TOP OF THAT HE'S TRYING TO SHIFT THE BLAME ON HIM
also naked Miguel O'Hara gents, you're welcome
Tumblr media
Uh-oh
Tumblr media
IT'S MORBING TIME
honestly I know vampires were massively popular in the 90s and it's kinda obvious they wanted to ride that wave and use the aesthetics to appeal to vampire fans and-
works for me
also how do those claws work? It feels a bit weird to see both nails AND claws, sort of like when you realise centaurs have 2 ribcages. Bit more redundant though, would've made more sense if he'd lost his original nails. Oh well.
Tumblr media
He's me when I'm at my parents' house and my mother throws me out of my bed on Sunday morning at 8ish because THE EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE WORM DON'T YOU THINK YOU'VE SLEPT ENOUGH and I'm just left there confused af trying to figure out where I am, when I am, what day and year this is and what's exactly happening in my life
Tumblr media
MOOD
big eh for the sexualised hologram house assistant, ok it's the 90s and it's a thing of the genre and all of that but I've read too many papers about sociological consequences of female-coded robots or assistants (in short: encourages closely associating the slave/servant role to women and it ends up affecting real women too. it's bad bad) to not be judging this very hard
Tumblr media
His first thoughts about them claws was going to the bathroom and picking his nose, so valid of him
honest to god if I had claws I'd be constantly fidgeting with them pressing the fingertip to make them come out like you do with cats.
That's it for part 1, I will probably make a part 2 when I continue reading them
Honestly they suffer a bit from being born in the 90s but I'm enjoying them so far and I like the character. If he hasn't changed too much in the movie then ok I get it now

“How about a play,” you asked.
“A play?” the Doctor said.
“Yeah, like theatre. I like theatre!”
“Sure, but theatre’s history is long. Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Plautus, Albert Camus… when do you want to go?”
“Surprise me!”
“Surprise you,” the Doctor said, suddenly standing still, like he was in disbelief, “Well, hang on to something.”
You barely had time to get ahold of the railing before the TARDIS launched you forward.
You had been travelling with the Doctor for a few days now, and you already felt at home. Yes, this had been the most dangerous thing you had ever done, but it was also the most thrilling thing.
Soon enough, the Tardis landed and you regained your footing.
“So, where are we?” you asked.
“Go ahead and find out.”
You opened the TARDIS’ door to one of the most unique views you ever witnessed. The TARDIS had landed right by what seemed to be a fortress wall. You were so high in the sky that it felt like being at the very top of the world. The city below your feet didn’t give much information about where or when you were. You turned around trying to find some clue when you saw it. The Parthenon. Your heart skipped a beat. This was what you had been studying for the past year at university. And it was there, complete, in all its glory. The outside columns were all standing tall and followed the Doric canon in their number. And the metopes, oh the metopes they were all there, completely intact. From where you were standing, you could make out the scenes from the fight between the Centaurs and the Lapiths. You had to see the other sides, the ones that were destroyed. How did they represent the Trojan war on there? Or even the Amazonomachy?
“Care to take a guess,” the Doctor said, bending over your shoulder and cutting short your daydreaming
“Ancient Greece? Maybe Athens?”
“Precisely!”
He seemed so excited. You knew he was probably dying to show off what he knew and explain it in details to you. That’s what he always did, and you loved it. Seeing someone be so passionate about something they seemingly care about always brought a smile to your face. That’s why you loved school. And learning, learning is just so fun when it comes from the right person. Looking at him now, you knew it would break his heart a little if you told him you already knew a lot about this place. Still, there was one thing you couldn’t really guess.
“And when exactly?” you finally asked.
“Well… you know the Ancient times of Greece…”
“But like, month, year?”
The Doctor put on his sunglasses and turned three times on himself. He then suddenly dropped to his knees. You were sure he was about to lick the ground, as he had done already twice since you met him, but he looked like he was only listening very carefully.
“What are you…” you started.
“Shhhh! You’ll mess it up!”
He got back up and picked a fruit from the basket of an Athenian who was walking by.
“I’d say end of march, maybe begin of April, 405 before,” he said, throwing the fruit your way, “Well, that is based on our Gregorian calendar.”
“How did you know?” you said, barely catching the fruit.
He had a really shitty aim.
“Educated guess,” he said, “Oh and everyone is excited to see Euripides last tragedy. Should we get going?”
“We’re going to see The Bacchae?”
“Oh yes, he’s amazing, you’ll see.”
Together, you walked down to the Theatre of Dionysus. You couldn’t believe it. You were here, walking in Athens in Ancient Greece. A place you studied and loved for so long. You dreamt of going to Athens, the modern one that is, this couldn’t possibly be real.
You finally sat down, almost centred with the orchestra.
“How did you know it was The Bacchae?” the Doctor asked.
“Educated guess?”
“Right! So you see this place in the middle, it’s called the orchestra. This is where the chorus is going to stay for the entirety of the play. You see, once they’re on stage they never leave. They’ll get here by walking through the eisodos, well eisodoi, it’s plural, it’s those little passageways on each side.
You nodded and smiled as he said all that. Of course you already knew it, but he looked so happy.
“And right at the back, that building with the doors, is the skené, where the actors basically go and change costumes.”
“Well, it’s a bit more than that, but go on.
“And so you see tragedies are always presented in groups of three… wait, what did you just say?”
“No-nothing, go on. I’m listening,” you said.
You didn’t even notice that you had cut him off. You saw his smile fade away as you looked down embarrassed.
“Do you know about this?” he asked.
“You can keep explaining, I won’t cut you off again.”
“That’s not my question Y/N, if you already knew everything I explained, why didn’t you just tell me?”
“Because you’re always excited to talk about stuff you know and to explain it to me. I didn’t want to… to take that away from you,” you said, looking back at him, “And you seem happy when that happens… you rarely seem happy…”
“Oh… Y/N… I’m… you’re right, I love explaining things to you because I see how much YOU love it. You can explain it, it will make me just as happy.”
You looked at him, smiling softly. You knew this wasn’t true. You knew you could never make him truly happy. Something or someone tore a hole in his heart a long time ago and there was nothing you could do to fix it. No way you could patch it up, but you could always try to ease the pain.
“Right,” you said, “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be, please,” he said, putting a protective arm around you as more people were coming in, “I promise this trip will be just as fun if you do the explaining and I do the listening.”
You grabbed the front of his jacket. People around you were now pushing, trying to find a seat.
“You’re sure you’ll be fine, only listening?” you asked.
“Yeah, yeah don’t even worry a little bit.” he said, smiling at you, “And Y/N don’t ever compromise who you are for me. You’re one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. You don’t have to change who you are for anyone else.”
“I’ll try…”
“Thank you. Now, where did I go wrong?”
“Okay, so you see the skené is actually part of the play, it’s basically the backdrop. It tells us where we are and most importantly when the actors enter the skené, where they go. Because, yes they change costumes, but sometimes they leave because their character is doing something inside the palace for example. Most of the time, it’s dying because no deaths are represented on stage. Also, tragedies actually come in a group of four because the author also writes a satyr play. And we are so lucky to see The Bacchae! We rarely have a god as the protagonist, so this is exceptional but also you could say that at the end of the play when…”
“Maybe don’t spoil it for the people around,” the Doctor whispered, as the first tragedy was about to start, “we can talk plenty after.”

(Recreating a post b/c fuck afrophunk/blackfilmmakers and I don't want shit from their abusive harassing ass on my blog if I can help it)
I haven't sampled enough of the Western genre to really care for it with the only Westerns I can really think of that I've seen being like (Nope, Concrete Cowboy, Harder They Fall, and Tremors). There's a couple Black Westerns I heard about while watching a mini-documentary about them in the theatre while waiting to see Nope that I wanna check out at some point tho.
But you know what?! I have had Centaur au Voltron: Legendary Defender ideas for a couple years now after seeing some good fanart and an abandoned incomplete fic!
In this au all humans in the Voltron universe are instead centaurs. And I feel like I have to specify with anatomy b/c people have weird ideas about centaur biology and I have my own beef with horse anatomy and physiology so: 1 heart, 1 ribcage on the lower body with a pseudo ribcage in the upperbody to protect the lungs and heart that are only in the upper body, an omnivore digestive tract*, bovid feet but the lower body is otherwise horse-shaped.
Navigating alien spaceships made for bipeds poses a challenge for our heroes. Stealth missions are a lot harder. That means no ziplines to the lions especially! Whole new costumes would have to be made for the team to fit them.
The Earthlings would actually put their hoof down about going back to Earth as soon as possible. They need hoof care. They can't fit in the damn medical pods so they need someone who can tend injuries and even better if they know centaur anatomy. Also they saw a whole ass Galra battleship heading towards Earth when they left and they should really check on that shit and since the lions and castles can fucking open wormholes that shouldn't be a problem.
With centaurs being quite big and quite fast, one on one fights between galra and centaurs are likely to go in the taur's favor. Shiro was an even bigger terror as a gladiator.
The mental image of my girl Shay perched on Hunk's back. Lovely. Wonderful.
(*Did you know that og mythological centaurs are fucking carnivores?)

I'm still absolutely loving Asterism Borealis so far!
I kinda want to hear more info about the intelligent species in this world. (What is their culture and customs like? What do they specialize in? Do they get along with the other species? Stuff like that).
If They is dead (since this is post canon), then who imprisoned Sonnet? Was it an elder who got upset with them, or is it something much more sinister...
Also, not to intrude personally, but have you started drafting it? (It's okay if you haven't! I'm just curious.)
Glad you love it! Unfortunately I'm still drafting stuff, but I might actually write the first chapter today.
For intelligent species, there's a few of them. There's humans, they pretty much remain almost unchanged from our world's history... just a tad bit more peaceful in modern times.
There's the several subspecies of elves, who are basically humanoid ungulates (Thought they were going to be in the same family as humans, didn't you? /pos) that are descendants of Chalicotheres. They're the only surviving member of that family AND they look very much like humans, except with pointy ears, hooves and maybe a short tail. They're a bit uncanny looking, resulting in them getting quite a bit of mistreatment from humans during the 1300s to 1900s, but they ended up getting rights during the 1940s, when the International Court of Sapient Species was established.
Due to this, elves are pretty much THE allies in this setting. They don't understand why humans judge each other so much, so they try to help the underdogs in any way they could. There's several subspecies, which are Boreal, Woodlands, Pairie, Desert and Dwarf, going from North to South. They live in Eurasia, America and Africa during the Early years, but now with international travel being a thing, they live everywhere.
Then there's the mousefolk, who are literally 3-4 feet tall rodent people, and they usually appear similar to jerboas, although there are some exceptions across ethnic groups. They are pretty much nomadic and live in deserts, but European colonisers were pretty terrible to them too. But! They're still a proud species who love music and theatre.
There's also harpies (Derived Non-Avian dinosaurs that are somewhat closely related to Dromaeosaurus), centaurs (Some kind of close relative to elves, perhaps? Or maybe they're a weird type of Pterosaur?), fairies (Basically moth/ butterfly people. Literally looks like anthromorphic moths), merfolk (Derived from a species of fish similar to Epaulette sharks!), orcs (Similar to elves in that they came from an ungulate ancestor, most likely pigs or Entelodontidae) and Cynocephalus (Mesonychids!), but they're all background races and I may or may not try to expand on them later.
Oh and there's the starfolks... but we know some things about them...
Sonnet is actually much, MUCH older than you think. In starfolk terminology, there's three distinct "Age ranges" of starfolks: Third generation, Second generation and First generation, in the order of oldest to youngest. Sonnet is a Third Generation starfolk, meaning that they're around the same age as Edda and Aven, if not slightly younger. They were around when TOFA still existed. And they did get punished by Them due to the accidental killing of their fellow starfolk.

RSA Staff Headcanons/OCs
Some characters I feel would be fitting at Royal Sword Academy. I'm not really great with picking names, so there probably won't be much sense or reasoning to them.
♤♡---◇♧
Arnold Rennison
Twisted from Roger Radcliffe (101 Dalmasions). Music teacher.
Homeland: Queendom of Roses
Hobbies: Writing sheet music
Every time I try to remember the movie, the first thing that comes to mind is him stomping the floor playing the piano and trumpet as loud as he can while Cruella's downstairs. I can just imagine, if he gets word of Crewel visiting the school for whatever reason, he always makes sure band practice is in the parking lot so he gets an earful when he gets out of his car.
Don't ask me what those two have against each other, maybe something went down while they were still attending their respective schools. Either way- they don't like each other.
Claude Archambault
Twisted from Clopin Trouillefou (Hunchback of Notre Dame). Theatre director.
Homeland: Shaftlands
Hobbies: Flower gardening
The man literally narrates the entire movie and pretty much hosts the Feast of Fools. If anyone qualifies to direct a theatre, it's him. And even if he's got a darker side, he's warm with kids and his family. Spread some joy and watch out for the kids (adults...?) enrolled at the school, it doesn't sound too outlandish for someone based on Clopin.
Professor Moreau
Twisted from Maurice (Beauty and the Beast). Science teacher.
(I couldn't find a first name I felt would fit)
Homeland: Shaftlands
Hobbies: Tinkering in the school basement
Maurice was literally called crazy for all the weird things he was inventing, if anyone could teach kids science and make it interesting, it's this guy.
Students learn early on to stay out if the basement- no, not because it's haunted, not even because it's staff only. It's because Moreau turned half of it into his personal workshop and it is anything but safe. He's happy to share his work with the students... just be ready to run if something goes wrong.
Murphy Heinrich
Twisted from Milo Thatch (Atlantis: the Lost Empire). History teacher.
Homeland: Queendom of Roses
Hobbies: Battle reenactments
In charge of all the 'socials' like Trein is. If anyone can make a history lecture interesting, it's him. The excitement, the theorizing, he enjoys teaching all of it- not just the bare minimum and you have to fill in the blanks (I had one too many teachers like that). Oh, everyone's falling asleep? Rather than hand out more homework, why don't they have a historical costume party to liven things up a bit! Or take a field trip to one of the reenactments he attends!?
He's the odd one out in a long line of adventurers: teaching history rather than making. And he enjoys his job... but there's still plenty of time to hold up the family legacy.
Coach Aegis
Twisted from Philoctetes (Hercules). Athletic coach.
Homeland: Sunset Savanna
Hobbies: Antique collecting
Who better to whip a bunch of greenhorns into shape? An older centaur (referencing Charon from Greek mythology) that sort of got arm bent into the job as a favor. If there aren't centaurs or the like in Twisted Wonderland, I guess a big horned ram beastman. He has a giant list of rules when it comes to training: they worked for the professional athletes he used to train, they'll work for the students too!
♤♡---◇♧
Just a few ideas, feel free to add to this or make a better suggestion- I'm sure there are characters that would fit these rolls better. There were some characters I considered that I just wouldn't be sure how to write for.

What should happen to Amaethon next?
Amaethon is my half-elf adventurer who solves like 80% of his adventuring problems with sex work instead of fighting, and so far has appeared in:
Coaxed - Amaethon gets eggpregged and turned into an egg sac by a big drider
Brothel Theatre - Amaethon is an actor in a brothel play about a prisoner of war where he gets cumflated by orcs (this work is unfortunately not available on Patreon)
Knight Tactics - Amaethon distracts a bandit camp by getting stuck and having them all gangbang him
and he's mentioned in Slime Breeder, where a different elf is turned into a seedbed by slime monsters in a dungeon
i wrote knight tactics after this poll and after the free use option, the most popular options were the studfarm and the tentacles, and i'd also like to maybe do him being strapped under a centaur and impaled on his cock, so i have those down to do already, so here's a new poll w some new options and an emphasis on the weirder ones
i just want to do weirder and newer body horror erotica that i haven't done before
(to clarify, when i say "plugged" by a naga i'm referring to mating plugs formed by secretions from the kidneys to seal sperm or similar inside an orifice and prevent others from mating, not a sex toy)

blueberries for the heart, hyacinths for the soul.
Did you know that Eating 150g of blueberries daily reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by up to 15 percent? The delightful thought of having a strong heart. One that won’t buckle or bend or skip a beat.
“If thou of fortune be bereft and in thy store, there be but left two loaves, sell one, and with the dole buy hyacinths to feed thy soul.”
In Greek mythology, Apollo was playing discus with his lover Hyacinthus and Hyacinthus was hit in the head with the discus and died. Apollo wept so hard at his grave that flowers sprung from the ground where his tears fell. That’s akin to having the love of your life die from playing ultimate frisbee. Isn’t that hilariously horrible? Isn’t that devastatingly comedic?
I had actually missed that story during my Greek mythology obsession in sixth grade. Raynah told me about it in early September. During the intermission of Hadestown, we were talking about the art on the walls of the Walter Kerr Theatre, the beautiful murals of renaissance style figures, a centaur with a flute, and flowers surrounded by gilded ferns. The topic of favorite flowers was brought up, I told her mine was oleander because I was trying to be interesting and quirky and name a cool poisonous flower. (I wanted to impress her.) She said hers was Hyacinths and then told me about that myth. I haven’t stopped thinking about hyacinths since.
I think they may be my favorite flower now.
Or perhaps it’s Haberlea, tears shed over Eurydice. The lament of Orpheus may be one I can better understand. After all, Apollo was not the one at fault for his lover’s fall.
________
with summer eyes and autumn skin,
i ask you for my home again
with winter frame i see anew,
and finally i
_________
gnarled wood of earthly joys, leave me be
summer berries red and ripe, smile no more
emerald leaves leave my sight, i cannot see
flowers of satin begone, close the door
please do not plant your roots
please do not i swear
please do not give your fruits
i beg of thee beware
my skull is not comfortable soil,
my water full of salt and brine
i would not desire for you to toil
my foul malfeasant mind
When I was in elementary school, the teacher overseeing recess monitored me to ensure I was playing with other kids instead of reading.
“It’s not good for a kid your age to be lonely,” she would say, the rasp of her voice startling me from reading my book.
“But I’m not lonely! I have friends, just not ones like you. I’d just prefer to read. To play with the friends in my book.”
She would begrudgingly move on, trying again the next day. Yet, whenever I could sneak past her watchful gaze, I would make sure to use that time to its fullest. Reading was what fueled me through a time that didn’t make much sense to me. I remember going into my backyard after school, and mixing up plants and berries I found, smearing them on a leaf, and placing it next to me as a spell to ward off evil while I read. And it worked.
I felt less alone.
I was always too much, too loud, too quiet, too strange, too normal, too sad, too happy. But words on a page could not judge me. Words on a page understood me far more.
Before now, It’s like I’ve been asleep. I rarely recall specific moments of my childhood beyond 5th grade, I don’t remember the people I knew or the feelings I had. all I remember was the books. It’s like I’ve been asleep all my life.
But recently. I think I’ve finally woken up. I recall the moments of last year as if it’s an eternal recording playing in my mind. Hearing my fellow cast members whispering backstage, peering through the scaffolding to check to see if the audience was full. Then, suddenly-! Lights out. Silence. I start to count in my head:
“one… two… three-”
I clutch my camera to my chest, and walk out onto the stage, the darkness shrouding me like a blanket. I hear whispers from the audience, they’re wondering when the show will start. Cue spotlight. Now, I speak with confidence, as I look out with an excitement I can’t describe.
“We begin, on Christmas eve with me, Mark and my roommate Rodger.”
Rent changed me.
I am someone who has faded into the background. I have been so used to rejection that I rarely let myself be seen. I remember the words spoken to me, by friends, by family by strangers.
“Your show was magic. It was love, life, beauty, and magic. I hope you keep making magic, no matter what you do next.” Being a character, being someone else, singing and yelling and dancing and smiling and laughing and being in the light on stage in the red and blue and green and yellow, was magic for someone. I had never been magic for someone before. All I ever did was steal magic for myself. Finally I could create it.
Sitting on a blanket surrounded by grass and trees and air that flows through my lungs with ease.
Seeing faces that I’ve seen so many times, and new ones that I feel I’ve known all my life. Pirates and papier-mâché, circe-perdue and toasting the axel, wine glasses with red velvet cake, fae and fire and fuel and feeling, all in one moment, in two, in three. Singing with Jonah and Rowan in Jonah’s kitchen, scribbling on paper making new faces new names new worlds, and doing it with them because if they aren’t shared, if they’re only in our minds, are they really real? I wanted them to be real with you all. Looking at them, looking and looking and looking, seeing beauty for the first time, people who you’ve always known would be there, and gazing upon just how beautiful they all are. It’s a humbling experience. To truly understand what beautiful means. To genuinely feel like you know why this world exists. What other purpose would it hold than to be the thing that these people walk upon?
what else could there be?
I love our world, our environment, our greens and browns and reds and blues, our wet and our cold, our hot and our dry. I love it with everything I am, and I love these people with everything I am. It only makes sense that they exist for each other. My friends exist for the nature around us, to bring life and joy. Our world exists for them, to cradle them when they inevitably kneel to the ground, in search of comfort or rest.
I don’t know what my future holds. I don’t know if the grasping, the wheezing, the laughing, the crying, the falling, or the heat that fills your body so harshly you want to crawl out of your skin will continue. But… but… there’s always a but. There’s always a smile, a kind word, seeing your face, that makes it worth it.
I want to make this worth it for other people. I want to make this world magic. So that I can finally breathe.
