“I have a surprise for you,” Kaeya had suddenly whispered in your ear, a familiar charming smile along his face.

There was a brief moment after, among the comforting warmth of his hand in yours and the closeness as you both walked home, where you feared your heart would detangle itself from you and fly away. It’s not like it’s metaphorically impossible, not when its none other than Kaeya Alberich, the cutest, kindest and most lovable man in Mondstadt who’s making it beat so fast. From the shy touches of his hand as he reaches for your own to the way he begins to fumble over his words when you compliment him back, it's hard not to smile and promise yourself that you'll give him the world and more.

But you digress, continuing to head home for the evening, a constant brushing and bumping of Kaeya's arm against yours, hands entangled and filling you with warmth. “Oh? Kaeya, you spoil me too much I swear,” you chuckle, giving his hand a squeeze.

“Not as much as I’d like to,” he responds, planting a kiss to your cheek. You open your mouth as if to tease him back, but the truth is you didn’t have anything more to say, so you shook your head and kept walking. By time you both got home the moon was high, stars dotting the indigo canvas that was the night sky.

Stepping through the door Kaeya grabs your hand, giving it a kiss before asking you to stay right there while he goes to grab your gift. Nodding, you watch as he leaves with a happy smile, giddy and obviously in love as he strides up the stairs. A myriad of possibilities circle your mind - perhaps he got you a new shirt? Or maybe it’s a book? Or or, maybe it’s something small like your favourite snack? - but all of them turn out to be wrong when the man reappears with a decent sized bouquet.

Your heart does a flip, breath getting caught in your throat. “For you, just because,” he says, handing you the flowers. Without even needing to smell them their fresh fragrance wafts towards you, relaxing you further than you already were.

“Really?” You raise a brow, smiling as you look from the flora to him and back (you can’t help but draw similarities between the two - things no one else would be able to conclude about the two), “are you sure you got them ‘just because’?”

Something between a shy and teasing smile comes over his face, “my, do you doubt me so? Truly, I was walking back from work today, on my way to fetch you so we could go on our date, when I saw them.” He steps forward then, reaching up to fix one of the flowers in the arrangement. His gaze visible softens as he looks at you, “they made me think of you,” beautiful, gentle, calming, “I just had to get them.” You look at them again, this time singling out the one your lover had been attending to.

A cecilia, one that’s mixed in among windwheel asters. A thought appears in your mind and you pluck it from the bunch, careful as you set the others aside. “I think it’s kinda funny Kae; that while you were telling me these reminded you of me, all I could think about was how they remind me of you.” Pretty, gentle, something to treasure.

You’re careful in your movements and gentle in your touch as you reach towards Kaeya, flower in hand. Brushing a stray strand of hair behind his ear, you tuck the white flower through his hair, taking your time in securing it. When you’re finished your hands fall from his hair and to his face, cupping both cheeks in your hands. “Beautiful, just like you.”

From under your hands you feel his skin warm, even more so after you speak your next words, “Thank you for the gift my love, but if it’s okay, I’d like to share it with you,” you place a kiss to his nose and then his lips, soft and delicate yet so full of love, much like the flowers he so lovingly gave - his sign of unwavering and never ending love for you.

Tomorrow you’ll be sure to spoil him in your love, as an extension of your thanks. You’ll be sure to display the flowers in your home as well, so you can be reminded of him every time you see them.

💃😭I think about those old headcanons so often; I'm sorry for taking like two weeks to answer this; I've been simmering on so many details.

For reference: Ye Ole Food Headcanons for Robby and Rhett (It's longer than you think it is.)

Breakfast and lunch are treated more as "eat when you're hungry" rather than set times where everyone has to cook and sit down together. With how Rhett eats like a bird and Bobby's schedule tends to be a bit unpredictable, it's just easier to make yourself something when you're hungry.

However, dinner gets a big emphasis. Not only is it the time Rhett's capable of eating more than a bag of sunflower seeds, but he and Robby are almost guaranteed to be home. It's a whole production. As soon as Bob's on his way home, he's making a phone call to figure out what the plan is.

Does he need to stop and pick up takeout? Are they in the mood for cooking at home? Did Rhett remember to get eggs from that little farmer's market by his work? Or does someone need to make a grocery stop? Are we absolutely sure the milk isn't expired this time?

Rhett and Bob mutually scared each other at first 😭

In the beginning, Robby absolutely tried to downplay how much food he can eat by himself. Nothing can convince me otherwise 💃 To him, there's nothing more awkward than asking to order a second plate of food when the rest of the table is done and ready to go 😭

But there comes a day when he's fresh out of a deployment, and between exhaustion and how much he's missed "normal" food, caution is thrown to the wind.

✨Insert frightened Rhett Abbott here✨

The Reader probably isn't surprised until the second slice of hot fudge cake comes along, and the waitress takes the opportunity to pick up all the empty plates before she goes back. There are just...so many plates...all for one man...

They start keeping track of how much he eats simply out of curiosity. So far, his best records are before and after deployments. Those ships just ain't made for a man who can and will eat you out of house and home without breaking a sweat.

Rhett's got an ongoing joke that in the event of them running out of food, Robby's going to eat both of them before the first day is over.

That joke occasionally gets him bit.

Meanwhile, Robby spent several nights wondering how the hell Rhett can manage working on a ranch with that diet. He does three times the amount of manual labor Bob does in a day, and yet he eats so? so? little? He makes breakfast for all three of them once, and the best Rhett can do is entertain him by eating a few pieces of bacon.

There's an instance where he gently asks Rhett if it's a money issue or if there's an underlying issue he's dealing with because he's never seen someone eat so little. Cue a meek cowboy explaining that he's just...not hungry. He says that as he reopens a bag of stale Funyuns 🤦‍♀️

However! The Reader accidentally discovers a loophole.

While Rhett isn't one for eating three full meals a day, he is always one for trying bites of whatever you happen to be eating. It starts with him meekly asking for a bite of a pretzel the Reader got at a concession stand and slowly becomes a thing where Robby and Reader use his grazing habits to their advantage. Especially Robby. Goes as far as to order different things because that means he can get Rhett to eat a little more than he would otherwise.

Neither is above cutting off a piece of food with a fork and holding it out for Rhett like he's their fussy six-year-old.

Aside from that, there's a general effort to supply him with snacks that aren't straight off a store shelf. Fruit, homemade trail mix, hard-boiled eggs, anything small that you can shove into an inconspicuous lunch box. When they're apart, it's harder because Rhett just...forgets...but they've managed to get him hooked on making his own trail mix.

When it comes to Cecilia's cooking...Rhett eats food from the gas station for a reason. Bob can eat anything and everything; her food does not phase him in the slightest. If Reader likes food primarily cooked in crock pots, overcooked meat, and inconsistent seasoning, then they'll have a great time!

Strangely, she's very good with desserts. Her peach cobbler has won awards at the county fair, and that honeybun cake recipe has been passed down for generations for a reason.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if the Reader can't cook when they meet Rhett and Bob, then they'll inevitably learn. Bob's a good teacher, and while there's a mutual effort from both men to help with dinner, the Reader is usually home way before they are. It's a responsibility they wind up with either way.

The current obsession in this house? Red Beans and Rice ✨ specifically from a recipe passed down from Bob's momma herself.

If he's got a day off, Robby can happily spend a whole day in the kitchen. The current favorite dish isn't so much a dish as it is a whole meal; Buttermilk Fried Chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, and fried okra. He can also be trusted with the ol' chicken and dumplings 💕

Unlike Cecelia's, Bob's mashed potatoes are guaranteed not to...stand up on their own...

...still side-eyeing the way they were...kind of curling on the plate...

omg do you think any of them has a sweet tooth?:

Rhett absolutely has a sweet tooth, and I will die on this hill. Coffee that's borderline creamer, milk, and sugar with a side of actual coffee, cheap candy from the local convenience store, his momma's desserts...it can go on forever. It's half the reason Bob calls him Sugar.

Bob and Reader are your average sugar lovers when compared to the fool. There has been an instance where drunk!Rhett brought himself to tears because of course sober!Rhett ate the last damn donut. He can and will sleepwalk to the cabinet as well.

It's horrifying.

He acts perfectly normal. Eyes open, walking normally, munching on something sugary he found. The only way to tell is by asking him a question; if he's asleep, he smiles and doesn't respond.

Please be aware that by handing him your sweet treat, you will never see it again.

💛 What are their favorite activites to do together?

They're both nature people and they live in gorgeous Brindleton Bay, so they take a lot of long walks with the dog, or go for a run together. In general, they're one of those couples who are more or less glued together whenever Eric isn't working at the vet clinic, so whatever they're doing, it's usually together.

💐 What’s their favorite “domestic bliss” moment?

They love cooking together. Really, Eric does most of the cooking but he loves it when Cecilia keeps him company and helps out a bit while he does it. Cecilia always sneaks the dog some food scraps while they cook and Eric pretends not to notice.

🍿 If they had a movie (or other fiction) couple equivalent, what couple would it be and why?

Probably Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from the Pixar movie! Cecilia is a dreamer and very upbeat and positive, whereas Eric has seen some shit and done some things he isn't proud of, but he is a big softie at heart ❤️

Auden had returned home to find a bundle of dazzling glaze lilies resting on his doorstep, marked by no one, for him perhaps? He couldn’t be sure although guessing based on the fact they were resting on his doorstep, most likely. He carefully picked them up, running his fingers over the petals, eyes softening as he sighed softly.

He walked into his house, placing them into a small vase and filling it up with water, gently dusting the flowers with a layer of frost to preserve them before resting them on the counter, smiling softly.

She seems… upset, looking at the plucked flowers laying next to her makeshift bed. The lunar lotus… the kalpalata… padisarah and sumeru rose… it makes her upset to see them disturbed from their original homes, picking up the flowers and walking over away from her camp, digging a small hole before hiding the plants and burying them… Maybe they’ll grow big and strong, regain the former glory of the beautiful plants rooted deep within the ground… that is her hope anyways.

The flowers aren’t in the best shape beneath the water, it makes him giggle. It was thoughtful but Lumidouce bells and rainbow roses? Those weren’t made to be below the surface. Although the Romaritime flowers glow beautifully dazzling in the world of water, plucking them out of the bunch and placing them around his bed before swimming to the surface

It was late at night, no land walkers around as he released the different flowers, maybe they’d wash up on shore and someone would think that the world had shown a small bit of favor to them… that made him smile.

What drew them to one another physically?

Rhett's general scruffy appearance really truly drew both Reader and Robby in. Scars, calloused hands, unshaven jaw, unkempt hair, and yet somehow so damn clean? Like his hair is always a mess, but you'll never catch him with it greasy. Cleans under his nails and never lets his facial hair get too wild; Cecilia may not be an award-winning mom, but she raised her boys with standards.

Bobby, on the other hand, drew the reader in with his big, clumsy, gentle-giant aura and a sweet, endearing smile that was handcrafted by the angels above. He'll trip over his own feet when the Reader smiles at him and apologize to the snail he nearly landed on.

Rhett was simply drawn in by Bob's voice. He's heard a lot of voices, but there's something so soothing about how Bob's tone and how he slips in and out of a Southern accent when he's stressed or tired.

Both Rhett and Bobby were immediately attracted to the Reader's eyes. It's hard for either of them to describe, but Bobby often says the Reader hides entire galaxies within their eyes. But aside from that, Rhett loves their hands. How soft they are, and how perfectly they fit in his. Bobby's more in love with their nose; something about the shape of it has him wanting to press little kisses to it.

Do the trio have any particular turn-ons of their own that the others find out about? Are they surprised or endeared? Do they exploit these turn-ons any chance they get?

They learn pretty quickly that Rhett loves being called cowboy, sweet/good boy. Reader and Robby have to be careful with using the term because he's not above jumping their bones in public...they learned the hard way.

Bobby is so into having things whispered into his ear. Reader can be whispering the entire F18 manual into his ear, and he'll be getting hot and bothered. Because it's their voice and little breaths are tickling his ear and all the way down his spine...and maybe that's why they're always whispering something to him...

For the reader, something about Rhett and/or Robby touching their knee really just...does it for them. Bob is shameless about exploiting that, too, because it's such an innocent thing that nobody realizes what he's on about.

Bobby is so good at being dominant in bed? He's known exactly how hard he can push them from the start, and it's such a shocking change coming from him. And who would have ever thought that Rhett could deep throat without breaking a damn sweat...and who could have anticipated that the reader was serious about pegging both of them...

What about favorite positions? Do Rhett or Robby have a smidgen of preference for topping or bottoming?

When giving, Bobby loves having legs around him in some way or fashion. Squeezing around his hips, over his shoulders, he loves feeling them start to quiver and react to what he's doing. Receiving, though, he's more of a missionary person; it's intimate and lets him be as clingy as he wants to be. He's got a preference for topping, for the most part.

Rhett's very fond of bending someone over something (Ex. the kitchen table, the couch, the hood of his truck, the damn staircase). He's also very fond of it receiving-wise. But his favorite receiving position is the simple face down, ass up, with a hand between his shoulder blades, pinning him down. Something that really puts him at their mercy. Rhett's truly 50/50 preference-wise, but a lot of days, he's stressed from work and would really love it if someone took control and fucked the stress out of him... *cough* where was I?

The Reader is more of a riding kind of fella. There is nothing more lovely than watching those two fall apart, and both Rhett and Robby are absolutely strong enough to meet the Reader in the middle if their thighs start hurting. Robby absolutely has a thing for watching Rhett getting laid down 😩 there's just something about watching that cowboy get taken apart just GETS HIM. Whether it be him fucking Rhett into the mattress or laying back and watching the Reader bend Rhett over, he loves it.

But Robby's a little...hesitant? To get laid down by one of them? Not because he doesn't like it, he loves it, but it's so intimate that he gets a little stuck(?) in this soft, clingy headspace that can take him a good day or two to come out of. Sex two at a time is pretty common, especially considering Robby can be gone for weeks at a time. It's certainly more fun with all three present, but sometimes someone is just too tired, or they're stuck off at work. Robby being off to war on a deployment can sometimes be fun in the bedroom because Rhett and Reader love to plan entire welcome home nights for Bobby with new and different things.

Bobby has yet to find out about the time a weary attempt at wax play led to the sheets being burnt...and that secret will be taken to the grave.

Video chat sex was definitely something that was tried, but it could be a little chaotic with schedules and general life stuff. Rhett was very well known for sneaking off into his truck and parking down in the pasture, where nobody would find him. He's just as traumatized from Cecelia walking in without knocking, as she is.

Bobby had to get very crafty with it when he was on deployments, and a lot of the time, he couldn't talk without risking being overheard. So he was stuck listening to Rhett and Reader whispering dirty things to him and couldn't say a damn thing in return. And boy, did they take advantage of that.

Rhett. Always Rhett. The man isn't good with tech, but he's a damn menace behind a screen. And when Rhett straight up said he was hard, Bob, not thinking, went right to the ol, "prove it." text.
