"Good God I hate cleaning the kitchen," you muttered, scraping the last of the dinner scraps into the garbage can next to the sink.

"At least ya'll don't have to clean the bathroom," Cecelia chuckled. "I swear I have to call a NEST team to come and fumigate every time one or both of those idiots in the living room eats at the Bakshis' restaurant."

"Hah! Better than eating Dad's chili," Joy laughed as she collected the dishes.

You made a face and feigned a gagging noise. The last time you had Art Hawk's chili was at a summer cookoff at Amy and Rose's school during the summer fair and the upstairs bathroom had never been the same since, but damn was it good with a big hunk of cornbread.

You, Cecelia, Joy, Martha, Beth, Monica and the others cleared away and cleaned up the rest of the dishes from dinner, hoping to be able to finally relax as you all filled each other in on the goings on in each others lives.

"Literally cannot wait for summer," Martha Hawk laughed as she helped you scrub the dishes in the sink. "First year Rosie gets to dance in the powwows and my mom's coming down from Idaho."

"And to boot, you get the summer off," you told her.

Martha laughed, an excited squeak making its way in. She was more than excited to be joining you at the school as your teaching assistant in the lower grades and excited at the prospects of finally having summers off again. As soon as Amy's case had officially closed when she turned a year old, Martha had decided a change of field was more than needed.

"Alright, time for a game of fridge tetris," Beth laughed.

You and the girls laughed and chattered away with Amy and Rose popping in and out of the kitchen every couple of minutes. You couldn't believe that the two of them would be starting kindergarten in September. It had seemed like yesterday that you and Rhett had brought Amy home with Rosie arriving barely three days later. Four years had gone by a little too fast and at the beginning of July, the girls would both be turning five.

Once everything was done and settled, the dishes washed, dried and put away, into the living room you went where the men of the family had already gathered and had gotten the fire going in the fireplace. The logs crackled, hissed, spit and snapped as sparks and embers flew up the chimney but the living room was as warm and cozy as ever. The grass outside was coated in the thinnest layer of hoarfrost, a sign that March would soon give way to April and the promise of spring that would soon be coming.

Everyone chattered away, shooting the shit between each other while John disappeared and came back every so often with a drink of choice. "God I live for these nights," he said, taking his spot next to Royal. "Fire crackling away, wind blowing outside and Manhattan in one hand."

The front door creaked open and shut with Billy and Shania Tillerson kicking off their shoes near the rack and joining everybody in the living room. "S'f-f'f-fuckin cold out," Billy shuddered.

"Well here ya big knucklehead, take this!" Cecelia said, tossing the wooly throw blanket his way.

"Thanks Cece," Shania said as soon as she caught it and put it around her and Billy.

Everyone went about their business until Rose and Amy came barreling in, begging for Royal or someone to read them a story.

"Alright, alright, ya'll get on over here," Royal said, finally giving in to their request.

Rose and Amy took their places on the living room rug, the others listening eagerly as Amy handed Royal her copy of "The Hobbit", a story that Rhett had loved growing up, second only to "The Indian In The Cupboard" of course.

Royal began to read aloud, both the girls and everyone in the room listening intently. You and Rhett huddled close together as he read, mesmerized by how well Royal could do the character voices. You had all nearly lost track of the time when his mother's grandfather clock in the hallway rang in the hour of 8:30.

"Alright you two, upstairs," Royal told them. "C'mon, it's bedtime."

Amy and Rose hurried upstairs on his orders, rushing to their room and leaving the others downstairs.

Royal threw another log onto the fire, hissing as it split open and released its sharp scent throughout the room. He hummed as he placed another one in there, low and droning as John joined in along with Thomas, Mo and Art and the rest of them. It wasn't long before you heard those familiar words filling the room, words that spoke of far off mountains, wizards, dwarves and hidden treasure deep in lands unexplored.

"Far over the misty mountains cold To dungeons deep and caverns old We must away, ere break of day, To find our long-forgotten gold.

The pines were roaring on the height, The winds were moaning in the night. The fire was red, it flaming spread; The trees like torches blazed with light."

Their voices were almost like that of the dwarves themselves, deep and droning in the night as they sang. You and the girls all joined in as the fire crackled away and the sky outside was tinted deep shades of red and pink. When it had all gone silenced, you and Rhett heard a pair of giggles coming from the stairs.

"Alright you two, bed! Now!" Rhett ordered.

The girls ran back upstairs, the two of you hoping that would be the only time you would have to say something.

"Think they'll be back down again?" you asked him.

"Only time will tell darlin," Rhett chuckled as he kissed you.

Sarah my love, I'd been meaning to share this with you and was kinda holding back a little but when I saw that last post you made about Rhett, I think I need to share it (lol).

You and Rhett made the decision to adopt Amy really early on. When you found out that Rebecca was pregnant, she was adamant about giving her up, knowing that neither she nor Perry could ever take care of her.

You and Rhett sat down with Royal and Cecelia and had "the talk" that night at the kitchen table, one endless round of coffee after another (Royal goes through the Dunkin Donuts coffee like shit through a goose) and both of them agreed that something had to be done, because like hell were they gonna allow Perry and Rebecca to keep their first grandbaby in a situation like that. Royal even had a long talk with John, seeing as the head of the Dutton clan is Rhett's godfather, to make sure a plan was in place in case anything happened.

Months rolled by while you and Rhett were working to save up for your dream home in Bozeman, the foundation of your timberframe home having just been laid. Unfortunately, there had been a scuffle between the three Abbott men in the kitchen after Perry had refused to sign the papers relinquishing his and Rebecca's custody of Amy to you and Rhett. Rip, Kayce, Jimmy, Thomas, Mo and Teeter were asked personally by Royal to be witnesses and to make sure Perry signed those papers.

On Mother's Day of that year, you and Rhett get the call that Rebecca had been rushed to the hospital and no sooner do you get there than Martha Hawk comes out to hand Amy off to the both of you. From the get-go, she's wrapped around yours and Rhett's fingers along with pretty much everybody in the family.

A few days later, Perry ends up causing trouble again, leaving you and Rhett no choice but to leave Wabang and go to John's to lay low. The day you leave is the first time you see your father-in-law in tears, knowing that it'll be who-knows-how-long until he and Cecelia see their grandbaby again. But never could you have imagined Amy being surrounded by all her aunts and uncles up there, nor could you have imagined just how loved she would be. John doesn't want to put her down half the time, Beth, Monica and even Teeter keep asking if they can be her godmother. Mo had the honor of introducing her to the horses and even made a little crescent moon dreamcatcher to hang near her crib. They say it takes a village to help raise the kids.......and in this case it took a whole ranch.

I adore this! That would be the most loved baby girl in all of the west!

Theodore the Scientist!

Finally got a sketchpage of him! He is Izo’s competition when it comes to running animal buisness. Unlike Izo who makes and sells mechanical animals, Theodore ressurects them. Which people go after for they are able to get their beloved pets and zoo animals revived leaving Izo in the dust. Tho it wasn’t malicious, Theodore is a very kind man that want’s everyone to be happy. Since when he brought back his pot bellied pig, Abby, back he was the happiest man alive.  He is friends with many of the main characters like Daniel, Cecelia, and Hawk. However Izo and Zeke aren’t big fans since for Izo’s case he killed his buisness. And for Zeke he thinks his buisness is unnatural and cruel.

Time to dive down my 2022 Letterboxd Year in Review

The number of films logged is staggering frankly. Though it is only 14 more than 2021's 804 films. The pandemic has allowed me to really lean into watching movies and allowed me to do it socially by consistently scheduling movie viewings with my various friends.

I only watched 58 movies released in 2022, choosing to mostly focus on films from previous decades. There is a sweet spot from the 70s to the 90s where most of the stuff I have seen resides. I am doing more to see older Hollywood films to be fair.

The 4 tallest peaks in the last quarter were all weeks I got to spend watching movies with my bestie or my polycule. It's truly a staggering number when you see 68 movies watched per month of average. Like i know I watch a lot but damn. The less said about Hudson Hawk the better, but I do think it's cool that Cecelia Condit's works got two of the most watched slots. That's because I wrote a piece on her for my big return to Tumblr.

And to nobody's surprise I watched Miami Connection more than any other movie this year, tied only with the equally incredible New York Ninja. Not only did I watch it 3 times this year but I watched it 3 times in a 5 day period, which is an incredible rate for even me.

Horror and Action are the big players genre wise, I like to have fun. I watch an overwhelming amount English and USA centric cinema but I plan to push for more diversification in the future. There is so much cinema out there to explore.

An interesting selection of directors and actors. I ended up watching the complete works of Cecelia Condit and Sarah Jacobson and fell in love with both artist's' work. The Uwe Boll films were forced upon me by my polycule for our series of Vampire Month streams.

There isn't much else to talk about or show of that is of interest, so here is every single one of my 100 favorite first watches of 2022 in no particular order.

Cecelia emerged from her office, desensitized by the change from muffled melodies and the occasional bass thumps to full blown brassy music playing in the club’s speakers above. She watched the girls currently performing, eyes moving like a hawk while their hips circled, heels glided in seemingly effortless turns and backs bent, arching various-sized chests in the air. The girls at Vixen worked hard and frankly, Cece didn’t settle for less. Her high standards were what she attributed to Vixen’s true success, even if her sister had been pulling some of the women into sex work. Recently, having come back from a lengthy and much-needed vacation, she’d been catching up on the goings on and getting back into the routine of things. As she moved away from her office and meandered around the outskirts of her club, she noticed a familiar patron and lightly smirked, but it was short-lived. Having seen Ophelia there plenty of times, she sensed and read something... unusual about the other woman that she couldn’t put her ifinger on. Cecelia was careful to balance her interactions with patrons during business hours, not wanting to linger too long or make anyone uncomfortable, but also not wanting to become a complete hermit within her own business.

She approached Ophelia and offered her a polite smile as she spoke loudly enough to be heard without a need to shout. “Having a good time tonight?” she asked, eyes sliding to one of the passing bar hands and nodding to get her attention so she could order herself a dirty vodka martini. Her attention then went back to Ophelia.

dear sweet cassie, partaker in the forbidden non-romantic alistair marriage that the game never knows how to acknowledge. very much the definition of gaslight gatekeep girlboss. and by that i mean a genuinely bad person in the sense that she tends to toy with peoples feelings. had an extremely public affair with anders during the events of awakening. It takes a good 5 years for her and alistairs marriage to be anything even approaching functional. extremely savvy, ambitious, and charismatic; a great politician and an extremely effective ruler. morrigan is her closest friend in the world (yes i know i never had her in my party. thats because im bad at video games and needed a healer.) and they’re like sisters.

my default hawke. 6′2, buff as shit, slept her way through half of her friends before finally settling with anders. she’s a blood mage and her first use of blood magic was during a particularly nasty fight where she got speared through the stomach. she carves herself up for mana; anders puts her back together. does things in anger and impulse and then regrets them (see: giving isabela to the arishok, never reconciling with carver after leandras death). mean if you dont know her, intensely protective if you do, but takes betrayal extremely poorly. constantly taking action, even if it doesn’t turn out very well; she is physically incapable of being a bystander. her and anders are my fave da couple ever... ask me about my post da2 hcs <3 theyre happy and have a daughter named bethany :] she punched cullen in the mouth at the end of da2 so hard that it left that scar.

literally is there anything like your first dai playthrough being an elf. aoife is... remarkably well realized in my brain for a character who’s life began as my friend chanting “goth elf! goth elf! goth elf!” over my shoulder while i was in character creator. very affable and friendly, but extremely politically adept with a capability for subterfuge that even she isn’t fully comfortable with. huge history buff. solas was like a big brother to her and her faith was extremely important to her so trespasser was crushing. very curious, especially about magic; definitely learned some blood magic from hawke after hearing dorian and solas talk about it. dorian is her closest platonic friend, but cullen is her rock. as in he is literally so normal compared to everything else that happens to her and she loves him for it. also her and hawke are friends and a scenario that lives rent free in my mind is them hanging out while anders and cullen attempt to kill each other in increasingly looney toons-esque ways in the background. she turned out remarkably pretty for an inquisitor... look at her

....and that’s it for my canon timeline. onto the secondary timeline!

DEAR SWEET RHIANNON. 4′8 powerhouse with a sword longer than she is tall. i first played rhiannon with a friend who was very new to rpgs and she picked all of the mean dialogue options because she thought they were funny, which led to me discovering that alistair reacts oddly and kind of hilariously well to being made fun of by a female warden pre-duncan dying. rhiannon is fun in that she literally gives no shits about conflict avoidance; if you start something with her, she’ll see it through. disliked alistair on principle and poked fun at him when they first met, but after the events at ostagar bonded to him extremely strongly. very close to him pretty much at the exclusion of all her other companions. extremely strong willed, laughs loud and smiles wide, no real concept of subterfuge except for when she’s hiding her own pain, generally goes in the path of least resistance if it gets to her goal faster. #1 arl eamon hater. she looks pretty different when i draw her compared to how she looked ingame but this screenshot of her doing the like. dead deer tinder profile pic pose is extremely powerful

cecelia is the truest tragic hawke that i’ve played (rip cecelia. you had the misfortune to exist in the warden alistair timeline). lost carver, lost bethany in the deep roads, lost her mother, believes that fenris has left her. act 2; a real rough ride for cecelia. aside from all the tragedy, she’s tough as nails, direct, and extremely blunt. very cautious in combat, even more so since she lost both carver and bethany. plans upon plans upon plans and prefers to strike unseen and unheard from the shadows. DEEPLY in love with fenris, best friends with isabela and merrill. aware of anders affection for her and keeps some distance for both their sakes; after the chantry explosion she helps him fake his own death on the condition that she never sees him again. when terrible things are not constantly happening she has a very dry wit, part of the reason her and fenris get along so well. too many bad things happen to her for someone with such nice thighs and such a stylish cape. her save file had some weird bugs with companion like.... staring???? in weird directions???

the absolute energy here. she also turned out very pretty in inquisition.

melly is easily my most powerful da oc. not in terms of in-universe power (although sword and board reaver is like. unkillable.) but in the sense that she is a catholic (read: andrastian) mid-40′s widowed mobster milf. she’s very close to cassandra and vivienne and consults them for advice before she goes to her actual advisors. even she was surprised by her relationship with sera; she finds sera’s unique sense of humor very charming and really likes pulling silly pranks with her as a reprieve from her everyday life. when she’s not with sera, she tends to be very pragmatic and logical when making decisions for the inquisition and has a very defined sense of purpose. she takes her role as both as the inquisitor and the herald of andraste very seriously. she’s very warm and soothing to be around during off hours and random inquisition members will often drift towards her for life advice. first draft of her and sera in this drawing had sera wearing this

Two Little Pumpkins (Rhett Abbott x Reader)

Summary: Halloween is fast approaching but for you and Rhett that means letting the kiddos do one of their favorite things

Rhett's heavy footfalls clunked down the stairs to the living room and into the kitchen, the full laundry basket resting on his hip and ready for the washing machine. God his clothes stank, the reek of cow shit, motor oil and compost all over them. Bad enough that he and Wes had to shovel out the pigpen on the Redwood ranch that afternoon in the cold, wet rain before he discovered that a good portion of the rain had soaked through the tops of his boots.

He overturned the bucket into the washer that rested in the little room just off the kitchen, the giggles of Hannah, Amy and Rose Hawk, music to his ears as he dumped in a capful of laundry detergent.

"Whatcha up to girlies?" he asked.

"Making jack-o-lanterns!!!" the girls chirped.

Rhett looked up as he switched on the washer, the three girls all at the kitchen table, happily carving away at their pumpkins while the smells of cinnamon, apples and the pumpkin spice candles burned in the living room. You yourself, were in the kitchen and getting dinner prepped for that night, the sun having gone down around five-thirty which made the house extra cozy even as the due date for your twin boys crept closer and closer.

"You good sweet thing?" Rhett said, sneaking up behind you.

"As always," you answered rather cheekily.

"What's on the menu for tonight?"

"Big bowl of beef stew, mashed potatoes and buttermilk biscuits."

Rhett had to bite his lip to hide the obscene groan that had welled in his throat. He loved whenever you made Cecelia's beef stew recipe and if it was her ox tail soup? He'd eat it until there was nothing more in the dutch oven.

You stirred the savory contents of the crockpot while Rhett took a seat at the kitchen table to help the girls. He took care of the sharp parts, carving out along the marks made with a sharpie and cutting open the top while the girls scooped out the contents, pretending to be mad scientists.

"Her girlies," you said, handing them a cookie tray. "Put the guts and seeds on a cookie tray, momma's gonna make cookies with them."

"Mind salting and saving the seeds for me?" Rhett asked.

You didn't mind at all. Like sunflower seeds, Rhett was an absolute sucker for roasted pumpkin seeds in the fall, carrying them in a little bag and eating them with his lunches like they were popcorn.

You picked out the pumpkin seeds and set them in a strainer to wash them off while the soft, cakey cookie batter was whipped up in a bowl with the pumpkin being dumped in and promptly mixed in. The entire house smelled so good that you wished you could bottle it all up and make a candle scent with it.

"Whatcha think darlin?" Rhett asked when Rose turned her pumpkin around. "Scary enough?"

You laughed a little. "I dunno Rhett," you told him. "I think Joy and Martha are gonna get spooked when they see it."

You and Rhett had the time of your lives helping the girls to carve their pumpkins while dinner and dessert cooked away in the oven.

"Wanna put these on display at the store?" Rhett asked while the girls were washing their hands for dinner.

"Why not?" you answered. "I figured maybe a little Halloween pumpkin display wouldn't be a bad idea."

Rhett kissed your lips. He couldn't wait to see it.

These three characters have been dancing in my head for a few days! Been developing a story thats been on and off and after fighting a sort of depression/burn out this story sparked my love of creating again! Anyways these guys are Zeke, Izo, and Daniel! Zeke is a stern detective cyborg that is trying to find the mystery of what’s been going on in his city with questionable damages to buisness and odd creatures running around. He keeps his distance from people but he gets dragged along with the other characters around him. Mostly with Daniel, Izo, and Theodore, sometimes Cecelia.  Personality: Zeke is usually calm and collected, patient, and very much acts like a gentleman, very rarely expresses himself to the extreme. When pushed comes to shove he does get aggressive but thats mostly towards Daniel since he pushes him constantly. Towards people he is good with his softer side shows and tries to help them as much as he can.

Izo is an envious turtle loving inventor that struggles with his buisness of selling mechanical pets. The city sometimes gas lights him that he isnt trying hard enough or is stupid compared to Theo and how no one want mechanical animals and want the revived ones Theo does. Izo will do anything to destroy Theo’s buisness. He tries to lie when Zeke is asking questions and keep Cecelia as his Partner in the buisness since she does amazing art to promote his buisness.  Personality: A bit chaotic, very energetic and dramatic, and will do anything to show how great he is, even if its petty stuff like he made it to the store first. He does loose his temper quickly specially when his buisness or his turtles get brought up in a conversation. He is very self indulgent and always puts himself first. When upset he does threaten people his the sharp part of his cane. I guess the best way to explain how Izo is just a mix of Plankton, Kuzco, with a dash of Markiplier.

Lastly is Daniel the homeless drunk hunchback that is a trickster, con artist. He mostly spends his time dumpster diving to find trinkets to sell to get some kind of money. He is friends with Theo mostly helping him get stuff and help out iwth the buisness but Daniel usually does his own thing. Mostly to try to see Cecelia while avoiding Izo since he hates him very much. And also tries to avoid Zeke due to jealousy since Zeke is close to Cecelia. Also since Daniel has issues of seeing himself good looking he sometimes pulls a fake french accent but everyone sees through it. 

Personality: Very witty, creative, and a bit of a swindler. He usually wants to get something in return when doing something since he doesnt want to feel cheated. He doesn’t take things too seriously until it’s too late. With Zeke he despises since he is reminded how much of the opposite he is. With Izo he doesnt’ like him either but if he’s in a silly mood Daniel will join him and both would do chaotic stuff together. He is close to Theodore and Hawk who gets his stuff and help him out which he respects a lot. As for Cecelia he loves her so much and does what he can to impress her and make her happy. His more soft caring side shows most to her.  Anyways sorry for my word vomit it’s just been so long since I can openly talk about a new story since I can’t with Demitri’s Carnival since it’s more “Mature”. I want to do something more with these characters since I am having so so much fun with them! <3  ~Thank you!  Oh! The last art piece was done by @milkfakearts​ she got their personality on spot!
