CATNAP BEGINS TO FEEL ROMANTIC FEELINGS FOR THE READER

CATNAP

• When he saw you for the first time he just look at you for a moment and continued doing whatever his doing, thinking something like "oh a new person...anyway—"

• the second time, you greet him although he simply greeted you and then you two were in a long and deep awkward silence, Catnap didn't know what to say, you didn't know what to say, NO ONE KNEW ANYTHING.

• The third time you were in your hut practicing a conversation with him since he was the only one you hardly spoke to, You gathered your courage and went to greet Catnap and the same thing happened, he greeted you and nothing more, although this time you started talking and trying to start a conversation with the night Kitty, this time you managed to talk to him and learned his name after half an hour of just you talking to a mannequin with Catnap's face drawn to simulate that you were talking.

• The fourth time Catnap was a little more comfortable around you and sometimes talked more than you, you were both sitting in a tree watching the leaves fall from the tree.

• the fifth time you were both eating ice cream but your scoop of ice cream fell and Catnap offered his saying that he wasn't hungry anyway, You felt a little bad but you accepted the offer and ate Catnap's ice cream while he talked to you about different topics, That night Catnap felt something strange, something he had never felt before, it was like a feeling of warmth and happiness, It was...weird.

• The sixth time they were both drawing with Craftycorn and Catnap couldn't stop looking at you, which from your point of view was a little different since it was an INTENSE look, like really intense (Honestly, I would be terrified and Catnap would look me in the eyes), Catnap continued drawing and when he showed it to you and Craftycorn, it was a drawing of you and Catnap holding hands eating ice cream, It was a very cute drawing although Catnap wasn't very good at drawing so it was a stick style.

• On the seventh time, Catnap for some reason felt that warmth when he was with you and he couldn't understand why, it was a strange but not unpleasant feeling, many members of the Smiling Critters They noticed that every time you were with Catnap he moved his tail slightly from side to side and seemed a little happier.

• On the eighth time they both played hide and seek but Kickin called Catnap and they paused their game, Kickin asked him why he acted this way and he simply remained silent, Kickin understood what Catnap felt, it was love, Kickin annoyed Catnap a little but he just gave him the silent treatment and went back to playing with you as if nothing had happened, Kickin had the perfect idea for the next day.

• Kickin went to Catnap the next morning and greeted him and with Catnap's permission he entered his home, the yellow chicken told Catnap that he was going to help him conquer the "love of his life", Catnap couldn't fully understand but Kickin explained to him that this feeling of warmth was love, Catnap was three times as confused although he let Kickin help him.

• They spent the whole night planning it and the next day Catnap asked you to go to the same tree from the third time they met and when you arrived you noticed Catnap but there was a small detail that you noticed and that was that he wore a black bow near the tip of his tail and a small tie around his neck with a small moon pattern, He seemed a little nervous for some reason and it was kind of strange since he was normally calm and quiet, when you approached him and greeted him he returned the greeting and made a long speech and it sounded a little...like what kickin would say... anyway he talk about of some feelings he felt towards to you to end with "would you like to go out with...me...?", Now it's your decision whether to accept or not.

I knew this sleepy kitten was going to be the first to be requested!!! And I'm sorry if this is too rushed or ooc, I'm still learning the personalities of the Smiling Critters and so far I don't know much about Catnap😿

This drawing is really, really old, but let ne show it to ya!

It started simple, in the middle of my Sanrio brain rot i tough "hey, what would be eacg Smiling Critter's favorite Sanrio character?" And decided to draw the sanrio characters i tough would fit them better!

Once more, the drawing is really really old, but decided to post it anyways becouse it ain't that bad (just ignore that Line weight, i didn't do such thing until the most recent months), it ain't the best but ain't bad either.

Also! I had to cut it becouse my Canvas woudn't let me do it larger and fit all the characters, so here it is the other part!

Nyago is my favorite of the bunch, she/he/ they (?? Not sure) camed out so good

And obviously, i would do the same thing but with the Smiling Critters using costumes of Sanrio Characters becouse i just can't help it but love it

Purrfect Distractions

You and Catnap had been a couple on the show for awhile now, and everything was swell. You got along with everyone and it was just all a lot of fun, and nothing but happy memories.

So when you had a full smile and slumped eyes, that was a red flag for your feline partner. He slowly walked up behind you, his tail wrapping around yours loosely as he nuzzled his head against yours. “Kitty? What's wrong?” He asked softly, cocking his head to the side as he sat beside you.

“Nothing… I just feel like I don't belong here, y'know? Like I was just a random asset they added.” You murmured, shrugging as your ears were flat against your head and paws tucked neatly against your fluffy chest. He understood what you were feeling but he still didn't like that you felt this way.

He nuzzled against the side of your face, using his sandpaper like tongue to bathe behind your ear to cheer you up. Cats being cats. “Well, I think you fit in just fine. I like having you here.” The purple cat purred, smiling lazily at you as he attempted to be a knight in shining armor that could rescue your smile. “It's nice having another cat… a pretty kitty at that.” He said, trying to cheer you up.

But it wasn't working, and you still seemed so down. He frowned but was determined to see you smile again; even if that meant having to behave like Dogday. He stood up and took your paw in his, carefully guiding the both of you back to his house. Or well the house you two shared; being a couple on screen after all. And it saved space. You were confused but didn't say anything, watching with slight amusement at his antics.

He sat you down on the couch, before he left the room and came back with some canned tuna. He opened it, gave it to you and sat beside your figure. He watched as you carefully licked at the fish before cracking a joke. “Is it purrfect?” He cooed, emphasizing the purr and even adding his own as some background. Your ears twitched a bit as you blinked and looked up at your moonlight. “What??”

“I asked if it was purrfect, or is it hissgusting?” he asked, seeming awkward but smiling. You were quiet for a moment before erupting into a fit of giggles. “Oh my god. Catnap, that's so stupid.” You said through snorts and giggles. A smile reaching your eyes, and that's all he had wanted. He snuggled up against you and pressed his nose against yours. “It worked didn't it?”

You loved this dork.

Chapter 2 of my Catday fic, “stay with me”

Chapter 1, 2, 3,

Catnap’s ears drop and his breath hitched.

His dog was injured. “Catnap! You’re alright” Dogday says exhausted. He tries to climb onto the table Catnap was on, but Catnap stopped him.

“I’m okay!” Dogday says reassuringly.

The scientist stops Dogday from trying to reach his friend any further.

“It’s best if you refrain from any sudden movement. “ The scientist told Dogday.

“1188- I mean, Catnap. He will stay here, he needs a bit of healing, just as you do.”

The woman that argued with him earlier looked down at Dogday. She looked annoyed- or tired.

The silence was broken by the growl that came from Catnap. A furious expression on his face as he realized he would be separated from Dogday.

In fear of Catnap attacking again, the man picked up Dogday and placed him on the table.

“It’s okay, we won’t be separating you. “ he said reassuringly. “For long” He said under his breath. Catnap only glared at him as he squeezed Dogday into a hug. They both left but they would still see them through the glass.

Dogday hugged back. “Are you going to be okay?” Catnap blinked, stunned with the question. They stayed in uncomfortable silence, until Catnap muttered. “I…hurt you” Catnap’s voice was getting softer, as if he would hurt Dogday even more. He looked at his paw, then back at Dogday’s bandages.

“It’s fine. It’ll heal. “ Catnap closed his eyes, feeling guilt take over him. “Don’t worry! I know you- didn’t mean it. ” Dogday gave Catnap a gentle smile. Catnap hugged Dogday, wanting to stay with him forever.

“I have to go now” Dogday broke out of the hug. Catnap frowned in annoyance. Dogday laughed at Catnap’s expression. “It’s okay kitty. I’ll see you tomorrow. “ Catnap smiled slightly at the nickname. Dogday got down from the table only to speak again. “I almost forgot to tell you!”

Catnap’s ears perked in interest as he looked down at Dogday.

“I saw papers for new critters! I hope they’re nice” Dogday said as he left the room. “See you later!”

Catnap didn’t know how to feel. He didn’t want anymore friends, just Dogday. But based on what the humans were saying earlier, it probably wouldn’t even happen. Catnap thought as he drifted back to sleep.

* * *

“Catnap! Catnap!” The sleepy kitty woke up to an ecstatic dog. His tail was wagging as he has a huge grin on his face. It was a few weeks after the initial presentation. The concept of their show was then picked up and turned into a reality.

“What?” Catnap said before he was dragged away by the happy dog.

“Look! our new friends are here!” They were in front of a window. It was planned for new characters to be in the show, but Catnap still felt his heart sink.

A woman walked out. She laughed as she saw Dogday’s face practically squished onto the window.

“You can see them now, just don’t be too loud. “

She said as she opened the door.

“Okayokayokay” Dogday said as he ran straight towards the door.

Catnap looked up to the lady. “You can come too” she said hesitantly.

Catnap slowly walked into the doorway.

He peaked around the corner to see a rabbit and chicken.

They were all jumping around and playing.

They were all getting along. The woman sighed before she closed the door. Catnap, now fully inside, slowly crept towards Dogday.

“Hey Catnap!” Dogday said while jumping with the green rabbit.

“Look you guys!” The two animals stopped playing and stared at Catnap. Their smiles twitching.

“This is Catnap! He’s my friend, and will be yours too!” Dogday said as he took Catnap’s paw and took the rabbit’s paw. He then put them together so they could shake hands.

��H-hello Catnap. “ The rabbit said, almost as if she was afraid of him.

“My name is Hoppy- Hoppy hopscotch! Over there is Kickin Chicken.” She said.

Kickin stayed his distance, but he spoke up.

“You’re not going to get all angry right?” He said.

Dogday quickly went to stop the potential issue. “Nonono! Catnap is really nice- he doesn’t mean to hurt anyone. “ Dogday said.

“Is that why you have a scar on your stomach?” Hoppy asked.

Dogday’s ears twitched. “Well- it’s not

his fault. “ He said, trying to cover the fading scars. Dogday turned his head to see what the cat was feeling. “..Catnap?” Catnap was frozen, looking at the floor with a blank expression.

The other two went silent in fear.

“Um, maybe we’ll just have to go. “ Dogday said, taking Catnap’s hand.

Catnap didn’t say a word.

The other two just stared as they left.

The woman from earlier bent down to Dogday, and the still, silent catnap.

“Good boy” She said petting Dogday’s head.

“Alrighty then,” She grabbed Catnap. “What’s going to happen to him?” Dogday quickly followed along.

“The doctors are going to check on him. “ she stated flatly, like it had been rehearsed.

“How-“

“No need to worry.” Their doctor said.

“You won’t be separated anymore. “ A chill ran down Dogday’s spine at the man’s tone.

Dogday’s whimpers echoed in the studio.

The doctor put on a gas mask and took a syringe from the small tool table.

HAD THEIR OWN SHOW WITH A BUNCH OF FRIENDS WITH DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES.

IF HELLO KITTY APPEARED IN 1974. AND THE SMILING CRITTERS AT THE 1990s. THEY WOULD BE 16 YEARS APART. WHICH IS HOW OLD I AM WITH MY YOUNGEST SISTER. IT'S TOO MUCH OF A COINCIDENCE.

could i share a goofy mareach idea with you? no pressure to post this ask or whatever, i just probably wont ever post the fic and i figured you might like the concept as is :]

Concept: Mario destresses by using the cat powerup and going cat-mode. He keeps it Very Secret because . well. hes a little (lot) embarrassed about it , but honestly? its just really nice and peaceful. take a day to run off and lay in some sunbeams. chase some butterflies. no worries only catbrain.

The mareach part comes in when peach gets worried that mario seems to have vanished, and luigi doesnt have an answer as to where (just a shrug and "i dont lnow what he's doing, but he always seems a lot more calm when he comes back, so i let it go") so she tries to find him, and does! And immediately melts because she found him catnapping and its very cute and sweet.

idk . i just think mario deserves some rest you know . sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. also i think the cat powerup would be awesome for stress relief . imagine actually being able to knead and skitter around and lay in a sunbeam like a kitty....

Um, hello, this is INCREDIBLE

It's so easy, too! Mario has a hard time relaxing, because he's always burdened with the feeling of needing to do something, if he's not doing something or if he's not taking on tasks then he's wasting his breath. The Super Bell bestows users with the subconscious of an actual cat while not taking away their cognition; the instincts are strong enough that he can give himself to them without even thinking about it, but he's still fully aware and able to actively enjoy himself. It's a little blip of freedom.

And then Peach... one day she finds him napping in a sunny field all sprawled out like this:

and it's fucking ADORABLE. Maybe she sits with him until he wakes up, or maybe she accidentally startles him, but he sees her there with the biggest smile on her face and realizes he's been figured out. And he just starts. Begging her to forget about this and not tell anyone, and he wants to go crawl under a rock and die because how else are you supposed to react to your crush finding out that you’re so bad at relaxing that it takes becoming temporarily part-cat just to get some respite?

But she promises that his secret is safe with her, and she assures him she doesn't find it odd in the slightest; actually, she finds it quite cute, and she's glad that he has some sort of outlet, because stars know he's bad about letting things pile on and insisting he can handle it, even when he can't.

And heck, maybe she joins him sometime. They spend all day destressing by chasing each other around and then curl up for a nap together. If this is pre-relationship, then consider: their cognition is still intact, yes, but Cat Brain overrides most things like shame or shyness, which leads to them sleeping in a patch of wildflowers all cuddles up together, like so:
