Hello, I'm looking for a fic that I stumbled onto a long time ago. I don't remember too much about it, but Mulder and Scully investigate the disappearance of a college student, a young woman. The first chapter is the young woman late at night in her dorm. Supernatural things happen and there are urban legends concerning the college. The writing is really descriptive and beautiful.

You might be looking for Diametrically Opposed by mountainphile. It's a good long fic posted in 2004-2005 that has in its first chapter a girl in her supposedly haunted college dorm. The fic's summary: Mulder and Scully investigate the mysterious disappearance of a college student in Ohio. Circumstances demand that they work from divergent ends of the spectrum, unearthing old wounds while opening new doors to the truth.

That fic is a sequel to Seeds of Synchronicity, which is also an excellent long fic. Its summary: Six years after the events of “Aubrey,” Scully and Mulder revisit the Missouri town to confront old demons and lay new ones to rest.

Reddie + meeting again at a high school reunion au

“This fucking sucks ass,” Richie grumbled angrily under his breath, watching people he’d hated as a teenager muck around the crowded gym that smelled every worse than it did ten years ago. High school hadn’t been a great time to Richie, but he’d come to this stupid reunion anyway just to brag of his success. Which was the only reason to ever go to one. He’d made it through high school, bullied and often beaten, for the annoying things about him that he’d used to become famous. That would show his pretentious snob-ass classmates. 

Except Richie didn’t have the things everybody seemed to be talking about. Richie didn’t have a wife, or even a girlfriend, or any kids. In the eyes of his classmates, he’d failed. Of course, Trashmouth Tozier couldn’t get anybody to stay with him. Of course not. He lived alone in his big house with all his money and nobody to share it with. It hadn’t bothered him until tonight, hearing every person he’d grown up with talking about their kids, or their weddings, or their engagements. In settled in his gut with a chill and he thought he might just lose his mind. 

“Hey there.”

Richie startled as somebody slid into the empty seat beside him. There were a lot of empty seats around Richie, seeing as he was the only person who hadn’t gotten up to dance. He looked at the person beside him closely before he could recognize who he was. It was the Bambi eyes that gave him away, this was Eddie Kaspbrak. They’d been friends, once, when they were young. They’d grown up on different paths; Eddie began to blossom and got into sports and soon it seemed nobody remembered when Eddie Kaspbrak was a Loser except for Richie. He’d let his friend have his distance, be popular, but had kept Eddie in the back of mind much longer than felt normal. 

“Hey, Eddie,” Richie said with shrug. “What are you doing at the Losers table? Shouldn’t you be out there with the cool kids?”

“I always liked the Loser table better,” Eddie said lightly and he smiled. Richie’s stomach jumped a little at that smile, same as it always had when Eddie directed it at him growing up. “How have you been Rich? I know you’re doing television now, right? That’s exciting.”

“Yeah, it’s real exciting until you ask about my wife and kids,” Richie chuckled humorlessly. He brought his drink up to his mouth. 

Eddie laughed. “Yeah, yeah. Everybody’s got a real one track mind here. You and I probably have more money than half of them put together, but that doesn’t matter because we don’t have kids. I feel like some priorities need to straightened out here.” 

Richie whistled. “You didn’t marry, Eds? Thought some guy would’ve been quick to lock you down. What happened?”

Eddie made a non-committed noise. “You know, you choose your growing career over your relationship enough times you stop bothering to get into relationships.”

“But you’ve got it down now, don’t you?” Richie asked lightly. “So what’s holding you back from relationships now? Can’t be your looks.”

Eddie laughed again. “Guess I’m just looking for somebody who can be the right guy for more than one night.”

Richie eyed him over the rim of his glass. “You know...  I can be the right guy for at least two nights.”

Eddie smirked.

I saw a super long post theorizing that taylor's lying about joe being william bowery and it made me see red. Taylor loves music, and so, in my mind, it makes sense that her partner would also love music and have at least some musical talent. Why would she lie? What could she possibly get out of it? There's no point. You were not in the room as the songs were being written. You don't know. People are making a lot of assumptions.

It's so frustrating especially because I just don't think that's something taylor would do. She cares so much about artists rights and owning her work and it would just feel so slimy to give Joe credit for things she did.. Like I'm sure we aren't getting the whole truth from her all time (I find it hard to believe that he just conjured the chorus of betty) and if you think her relationship with Joe is fake, whatever, but she clearly cares about him and enjoys working with him so it just feels like they're raining on her parade. And the thing about needing a male perspective to cover for her gay shit, she literally cowrote a ton of the songs with Aaron Dessner so she didn't NEED to bring in WB as a cover so you're right, there's literally no reason for her to do this. Tbh the desire that gaylors have to invalidate all of tays relationships with men reeks of biphobia but a lot of people aren't ready for that conversation

i don't know if you've heard of it, but there's an old movie called "The Innocents". I would say that's an excellent adaptation of "The Turn of the Screw" and highly recommend it.

I haven't seen that one, so I guess I shouldn't have said all adaptations aren't great lol oops

I'll check it out! Personally I didn't even like the original story that much so that could also be part of it... Idk there are other horror stories I'd love for Flanagan to take on at some point too!

hey, this is kind of a weird question but anyway. so when I'm writing I like to figure out a face claim for my characters. I'm working on a losers club fic and I have one for all of them except for stan. do you have a face claim for stan?

I use Devin Druid when writing Stan college aged or a senior in high school (I dont think I’ve written him younger than 17/18) and I don’t usually write much adult!Losers (over 25) but I’d probably use Jesse Eisenberg because he looks like an older Devin Druid lmao

juliet is not embarrassed by her hgtv obsession and she refuses to let anyone try to make her feel such. shawn, on the other hand, is incredibly embarrassed by his food network addiction. it helps him sleep, okay?!
