The Caoineag - a collab with @darcymariaphoster; they wrote an amazing story which I illustrated. Read, show love, and reblog it here! ✨
The caoineag (KHOO-nyak) is a creature from Scottish folklore, a spirit that warns of death by weeping. If you hear its cry, you should fear for your future 💀

Lover Of The Sea
Our Flag Means Death
(I'm not saying it's good, I'm saying I'm working on it)
PART I
Buttons knows things that only a lover of the sea knows.
The push and pull between the moon and the tides. The sudden and shocking waves that threaten to shake you out of your skin and bones, the soothing and gentle rocking, that feels like safety and home.
So, of course he notices the desperation and yearning on his bonny captain's face whenever he's staring at the other - the one who reminds Buttons of the moon. A gentle beauty, but terribly misunderstood, both moon and man.
He's patient is Buttons.  Weaving his advice and suggestions into his time with the captain (the man DID ask) helping him learn the rhythm of his body, until Stede knows himself as well as Buttons knows what his true love is telling him when he's at the helm.
It's best that they don't speak of it, during the light of day. Between his saltwater mistress and the dark-eyed love of Captain Bonnet,  he's not sure his is the more forgiving and Buttons has never believed in pushing her limits.
*****
He wasn’t sure of the exact day that the whispering and mutterings of the crew crowded out the much preferred sound of waves meeting hull, but it hadn’t been too long after they overtook the Revenge. It’d been an odd day, that.
The Captains (that’s how Button’s thought of them, in fancy, shining letters like the ones painted on the very best  of pawn shops) had done a fair amount of hurling hard words at one another, when they finally were in each other’s sights again. That hadn’t been too bad. There had been talking later. Some confessions, some crying and then some hugs. Hand holding, even.
It had seemed that they had been getting closer, until the incident in the Jam Room. Buttons hadn’t gotten the full story and hadn’t needed it.  It was apparent in the stilted conversations and awkward body language the next day. The silences they lobbed back and forth like warning shots. It was unsettling, is what it was and Buttons was glad to have the nights to himself, when The Captains took their sadness below decks, in separate directions.
It was during the night when the wind carried his fellow crewmates plotting to him. Buttons manned the helm, happy to be forgotten. It allowed for him to listen to their arguments without any of them necessarily aiming to win him over to their side. It was the scribe that started the whole thing.
“They can’t keep circling each other like this,” Lucious had hissed, likely clenching his teeth hard enough to crack the back ones. “The more frustrated they are, the worse it’ll be on us! One of us has got to do something!”
There’d been some murmurs of agreement, a few grunts of dissent. The boy had a point, but then again, he’d also been through an ordeal because of the one captain’s heartbreak due to the other.
“What the hell do we do then, huh? Lock them in the cabin together, because that worked so well the first time?” Wee John piped up.
Buttons grimaced, remembering the commotion. Two hours of the pair of them wailing like caoineag crying out death warnings, except that the only thing that died was everyone’s patience and nerves. The door had been unlocked, and Captain Bonnet fled his old cabin like a swallow towards the heavens, landing in the crow’s nest for the night. If his ears were to be believed (and they very much were), Buttons had heard the man crying.
“Maybe,” Olu ventured quietly, “Maybe Cap’ doesn’t know how to take the next step. Think about it. He told us he didn’t even know how he felt until he’d gone back to Barbados. Maybe he’s scared to take it further. Y’know, do the deed.”
“Who’s gonna teach him? Not me. A trip overboard if HE finds out, isn’t worth it. Not for all the money Cap hasn’t got anymore. Any volunteers for that? Bet I get more volunteers for me to cut off their right arm.” Roach said in between puffs of his cigarette.
More murmuring, louder this time and shuffling around. Buttons listened to the liquid sighing of the sea, leaving off from the conversation of the crew. There was nothing better for tuning out utter bollocks, so a man might set his thoughts in order.
“I’ll do it,” he said after his considering was done.
That seemed to get everyone’s attention, but the few chuckles were quickly silenced and Olu made his way up to the bridge. His face was thoughtful, his eyebrows drawn slightly.
Buttons stared ahead, giving the younger man time to decide what he wanted to say. He’d always been respectful, so it was only proper to give some respect in turn.
“You know what you’re volunteering for, yeah?”
It was nice that Olu didn’t pretend that he didn’t know that Buttons had heard every word. Made the way a little easier.
“Aye, I do.”
“You’ll be on your own, you know. If…what I mean is, if -” Olu frowned, casting his gaze out over the water, his eyes taking on a searching quality.
Buttons thought a man could find worse places to  look for inspiration for telling him he’d be meeting his fate alone, should Captain Teach catch wind. He didn’t believe it was necessarily going to come to that. He’d done just the thing that Olu was doing now, and his Lady hadn’t shown him that there was anything to fear.
“It’s fine, lad. Wouldn’a volunteered if I didn’t trust the waters.” He tilted the corner of his mouth at Olu, hoping it passed as a reassuring smile.
“Okay, then,” Olu let out a breath, his shoulders visibly lifting with the weight of the discussion and the risk of it off of them. “We’ll leave you to it and ah, I’ll keep the others from being a pain in your arse about it. G’night Buttons.”
Olu returned to the rest of them and a few more calls bidding him a good night echoed out, before it was quiet again.
Jim was up in the crow’s nest, so Buttons felt as alone as he could be. They’d be busy with rearranging the world into the boxes that felt right to them since re-uniting with Oluwande and pay the old mariner with sum’er teeth no attention.
The trouble with The Captains, as Buttons saw it, was that Captain Bonnet was too much in his own head and not in his own body. Didn’t know the list and roll of it, despite having gotten two weens from his marriage.
That was alright. He’d find his way with a little help, same as he did about finding his way back to his crew, his ship and his man.
******
It wasn’t much of a surprise to Buttons when Stede joined him at the railing the following morning with a cup of coffee.
“Oluwande tells me that you’re going to have a couple of intensive captaining sessions with me, Mr. Buttons,” Stede’s tone was more breezy than his face betrayed that he was feeling. That was another bad habit in need of breaking.
“Aye, Cap’n. Just a few bits and bobs that us saltier dogs collect,” Matching Stede’s light tone, Buttons sipped his coffee, watching Livvy snatch her own breakfast from the sea.
Stede ‘hmmd’ beside him, sipping delicately from his own cup before patting his first mate heartily on the shoulder. “Okay! Let’s get that scheduled immediately. Now, I was thinking the day after tomorrow - “
“Tonight. On the poop deck,” Buttons said, chucking the rest of the over-sweetened coffee into the water. “Come prepared for baskin’ in moon glow. That means no spirits til’ after. ”
Whatever it was that Captain Bonnet was trying to say was lost in the cry of Livvy alerting Buttons to come for his share of the meal she’d provided. He’d make a show of accepting it, as was only proper.
******
The moon was at her fullest and it was no hardship for Button to bide his time with her until Captain Bonnet appeared. Luckily, Olu had taken the watch for the night, setting himself down admidship with a bottle of something Spanish that Button’s had procured on their last raid. Poor bugger'd earned it, having to manage the crew and both captains.
With a fluttering like the sound of wings, Stede came up behind Buttons, theatrically clearing his throat.
“Well, here I am, Mr. Buttons! Ready for whatever new tricks an old salty dog has to teach me!”
Good Lady, he’s not shy about bellowing loud enough to make the sea give up her dead, Buttons sighed to himself. Turning, he gave Stede a once over.
“Yer overdressed.”
“Uh, well…I don’t see what that’s got to do with -”
“I said come ready to bask in moon glow, so get to it!” Buttons snapped, turning away from Stede, who was gaping like a very blond, very landed fish.
Grumbling, Stede seemed to choose to wait Buttons out, before changing his mind. If it was possible to throw his new, stolen, satin jacket down in anger, he managed without losing steam in his complaining.
“Why do I have to undress? It’s…it’s not decent! Not that I’m saying you’re indecent, just that it isn’t very captianly behavior,” Stede’s rising pitch made Buttons roll his eyes.
“Don’t fret about being bare to the ladies you owe,” he said, frowning.
"Ladies?" Stede yelped and attempted to hide behind the helm with only one leg still in his trousers.
Extending one arm outward, Buttons caught his eye from behind a spoke of the ship’s wheel.
“The old girl who lights our way, the good lady that guides us and the lass that carries us through it.”
That seemed to capture Stede’s interest as he finished divesting himself of his pilfered frippary.
“What, I mean, who? The sea?”
SIghing as only those who are being deeply patient could, Buttons nodded before turning his attention fully back out to the ocean.
“Aye and more. The moon, older than the tides she sets in motion. The sea providing for us that makes a home with her and this ship,” Buttons stamped one bare foot.
“Just a maid compared to the likes o’ them, but she takes us where she will. You don’t cower cravenly before care like that.”
Hesitance forgotten, Stede came to stand beside Buttons, his voice soft as he took in the moonlit waters.
“They do all of that for us, don’t they? Maybe it is a lot like love.”
“They keep nothing of themselves from us. ‘Tis only right we do the same.”
Arms flung open as if he’d embrace all three, Buttons turned his face to the sky, the moonlight still bright behind his eyelids. He could feel a light spray from the ocean and the shifting of the ship beneath his bare feet.
This was like worship, like sex, like war. He felt all the things that other men felt and tried to put into words for things that would never last as long as his Good Ladies.
He felt, rather than heard Stede shifting beside him. He was whispering to himself. Button’s cracked one eye open, silently approving of the reverent look on his captain’s face.
“That’s it, Cap’n, talk to ‘em, if you've a mind to. You can be naked as you like and not shamed for it. The moon glow will cover ye well enough.”

The caoineag is a female spirit in Scottish folklore. Known as "the weeper," she is sometimes said to be a type of banshee. She is usually invisible, but sometimes appears by water, in glens or on the sides of mountains to foretell death.
A similar spirit, the caointeach, appears outside the homes on the isle of Islay in which someone is about to die.

Pros and cons of dating Geoffie and Connie?
For Geoffie there aren’t really any pros or cons because he doesn’t date. He’s aromantic, but while he doesn’t date he does love to serve a strong woman in a D/s style relationship so if you’re cool with that then there’s all your pros at once lol.
Connie:
Pros:
loves to laugh and make others laugh
very giving to her loved ones (it’s not like she needs the money, and even if she did she’d still be just as giving in death as she was in life)
very, very open-minded and understanding
spontaneous; lots of random trips and gifts and surprises
Cons:
she’s dead (death knight)
ice cold and not a good snuggler
feels self conscious about being living-impaired and doesn’t like to touch living people
can sometimes be more than just a little obsessive over her love interests
fights dirty when it comes to arguments

The Fair Folk: Fairy Myths Around The World
Tumblr media
🦋 The following list contains different names used for Fae or Fae-like creatures and spirits around the world, as well as the place/culture they are from. Since the European Fae are the most well-known of the bunch (and there’s a lot of them), this list shall mainly focus on what I think are the less known ones.
WARNING: This list was just made with the intent of gathering more information about them and as a writing resource/inspiration. It is NOT meant to be used as a “beginner’s guide” to contact with these spirits for witchcraft purposes or anything like that. For those wanting to work with spirits, Fae or otherwise, witchcraft-dedicated blogs have already made some really good posts about the subject. Some of these spirits also belong to closed or semi-closed cultures. Please, always do your own research.
(Germanic and Romance) European Fae:
Aos Sí (Ireland): “People of the Mounds” Umbrella term to describe most of the Celtic faeries and nature spirits.
Alp-luachra (Ireland): “Joint-eater” A type of fairy who would adopt the form of a newt to consume half of a person’s food or nourishment.
Brownie (Scotland): Household spirits said to inhabit the unused corners of the home and aid in tasks around the house.
Bluecap (England): Cavern spirits known for helping miners with their work.
Caoineag (Scotland): Female spirit whom, like the Banshee, weeps and wails to foretell death and misfortune.
Cat sìth (Scotland and Ireland): Feline fairy said to resemble a black cat with a white spot on its chest.
Cù sìth (Scotland and Ireland): The Cat sìth‘s canine counterpart. They are said to resemble large hounds with shaggy, dark green fur.
Clurichaun (Ireland): Male fairies with a taste for alcoholic drinks. Known for their tendency to haunt breweries, pubs and wine cellars.
Dobhar-chú (Ireland): Water spirit said to resemble a dog, an otter or a half-dog, half-fish creature.
Duende (Spain): Small house spirits known for their mischiveous trickery, but some can also be helpful and kind to humans.
Fachan (Scotland): Mountain spirit described as having a single eye in the middle of its face, a single hand protruding from its chest instead of arms, and a single leg emerging from its central axis.
Far darrig (Ireland): Small fairies described as having dark, hairy skin, long snouts and skinny tails, as well as wearing red coats and caps. They are sometimes associated with rats.
Kelpie (Scotland): Water spirits said to haunt lochs and lonely rivers. It is usually described as appearing as a horse but is able to adopt a human form. Mostly known for tales of them tricking humans into riding them, after which they’d take them to the water to drown.
Púca (Ireland): Shapeshifting nature spirits, which can take the appearance of horses, goats, cats, dogs, and hares. While able to take human form, animal features usually remain, such as ears or a tail.
Trasgo (Spain): A chaotic type of Duende that its mischiveous and playful at their best, malevolent and hateful at their worst.
Tumblr media
Américan Fae:
Almamula (Argentina and Uruguay): “Mule soul/Mule ghost” Malevolent female spirit described as a black mule or donkey able to breathe fire. Associated with wildfires, droughts and sexual urges/lust.
Caipora (Brazil): "Inhabitants of the forest" Forest-dwelling, dark-skinned fairies. They are said to demand smoke and tree-bark offerings from hunters before allowing them to have any luck in their hunting.
Chaneque (Mexico): “Those who live in dangerous places” or “The owners of the house” Spirits of the soil, found on forests, lakes, rivers and jungles. Similar in many aspects to the European Goblin and the Duende, they are described as having child-like faces and voices, as well as tails.
Curupira (Brazil): Nature spirits described as having red hair and feet turned backwards, they are said to be vengeful against poachers and hunters that take more than what they need of the forest.
Momoy (Venezuela): Small male faeries who are described as bearded men who wear tall hats, similar in appearance to the Scandinavian Dwarf. Associated with rivers, fog and agriculture, the Momoyes are peaceful water spirits who are said to be helpful to those farmers who treat them with respect.
Sisimique (Costa Rica): Earth spirits described as having the face of a human and the body of a monkey, as well as just having four fingers on each hand. They are said to inhabit caves and caverns.
Wefuke (Chile): Mischievous spirits who feed on negative emotions, said to sometimes be malevolent in nature but who are also known to punish wrong-doers. They are an important part of Mapuche witchcraft traditions, as they function as ‘Familiar’ spirits to the Calcu (Name given to those Mapuche witches who choose to specialize on baneful magic and hexes, as opposed to healing shamanic magic or Machi). These Wefuke are said to stay loyal to a human bloodline for generations: A Calcu will sometimes inherit the Wefuke companion of their mentor or family member after they pass away.
Tumblr media
Slavic and Scandinavian Fae:
Bauk (Serbia): Large fae, described as being bear-like in appearance, whom inhabit dark places, holes, or abandoned houses and are scared away by light and loud noises. Said to enjoy the taste of human flesh, parents used to scare their children with tales of these creatures.
Hulder (Norway and Denmark): Female spirits described as beautiful women with hollow backs and with a cow’s tail. Said to lure human men into marrying them to kill them later, but folktales of Hulders seducing human women to spirit them away into their realms also exist.
Iele (Romania): Nature spirits who are portrayed as wearing bells at their feet and dance in circles to enthrall humans. If you approach them as a man, then you are forced to dance with them untill your feet bleed for their amusement. If approached as a woman, you dance with them until sun rise without being hurt. If you run away after seeing them, they are said to hunt you down. The place where the Iele had danced would after remain carbonized, with the grass incapable of growing on the trodden ground, and with the leaves of the surrounding trees scorched. Later, when grass would finally grow, it would have a red or dark-green color, the animals would not eat it, but instead mushrooms would thrive on it.
Leshy (Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Poland): Nature spirits who rule over the forest and the hunt. Masculine and humanoid in shape, but also said to be able to assume any likeness and can change in size and height. Sometimes portrayed with horns and surrounded by packs of wolves and bears.
Mavka (Ukraine, Austria, Serbia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary): Nymph-like female spirits, most commonly associated with the Carpathian Mountains. They are described as being eerily beautiful, as well as not casting a shadow nor reflections.
Nisse (Norway): Brownie-like creatures (As in, the European fairy, not the chocolate cake), whom live on farms and are said to help farmers with taking care of animals and keeping the soil bountiful. Though mostly benevolent, they're still Fae, and they are said to cause mischief when disrespected, including killing/harming the animals and/or turning the soil infertile. Their Swedish equivalent is called Tomte.
Rusalka (Russia): Female water spirits, described as having long, wet hair and pupiless eyes. Similar to the Greek sirens and the mermaids in that they are said to seduce humans with their singing and dancing to bring them into the water, where they then drown them and eat them.
Samodiva (Bulgaria): Woodland faeries commonly depicted as ethereal maidens with long, loose hair, and in some cases, wings. They are often described as blonde, tall, slender women with pale, glowing skin and fiery eyes, typically dressed in free-flowing, feathered white gowns.
Underjordiske (Norway and Scandinavia as a whole): “The Underworldly”, “The One Living Underground” or “Those who live down below” Umbrella term to describe most Scandinavian faeries.
Vila (Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Bulgaria): Female faeries described as young-looking girls with bird or butterfly-like wings, golden hair, white dresses and armed with bow and arrows. Some tales have them as being fearsome warriors despite their cutesy appearance, and that they could be seen riding elk or wolves into battle. Associated with dew, certain flowers and rainbows.
Vittra (Sweden): Nature spirits who live underground and are indifferent towards human affairs, but who are said to be fearsome when enraged.

Danny Phantom is a Lar
I consider Danny to be a lar. Specifically, a lar praestite. Lares praestites are "the spirits that protect the community." It is a specific type of Tutelary spirit from Greco-Roman myth considered household ‘gods,’ but I’ve also heard them called “hero ghosts.” I think I’ve read that they are often the spirits of dead heroes or something. Apparently, a place & people under the protection of a lar can potentially experience quite a bit of good fortune, in both large & small ways, provided the residents pay respects or gratitude to the lar in question.
Lares are associated with Penates & the goddess Vesta.
Their range of influence can range from a specific home or family (lares familiaris) to crossroads & neighboring district (lares compita) to entire cities & city-states (lare praestites).
Lare praestites were often depicted wearing chlamys or military cloaks, carrying lances, seated, with a dog (which is a symbol of watchfulness) at their feet.
The Fentons are as close to a military I've seen in Amity besides the GiW & I suspect that they might actually be privately owned & just using the government-funded bs to keep people from asking questions. So, they don't count. Danny wears a hazmat suit in ghost form & can be seen with Cujo at times, it being an hc that the pup bonded with him, possibly giving the pup new powers as a result. Cujo possibly being a Cú-síth (Pronounced: coo-she), which are thought to ferry dying souls to the afterlife. Thus, making him a type of Psychopomp.
I'm just saying, all he needs is a lance.
I also think his eyes & powers take on the color of Greek Fire because of this.
Similarly, I consider Spectra to be a wraith & Ember to be either a banshee, a siren, or a mix of the 2.
Like, within this fictional universe, the Earth is home to Earthbound spirits, which generally remain incorporeal yet can still manage to be pretty troublesome at times, & the Ghost Zone/Infinite Realms is home to Hereafter ghosts, which are generally corporeal by nature, but able to become incorporeal at will. Both have classifications that are determined by a range of things from cause of death, obsession, nationality while alive, & so on.
Like, sometimes banshees (specifically the Caoineag, a type of Highland banshee) are known to protect certain families of Scottish or Irish descent, warning them when death approaches. Other times, they are known to bring about death themselves. Either way, it’s said that a banshee is the spirit of a young girl who experienced a brutal death. My thoughts are Ember McClain was of Celtic lineage down the line somewhere. It certainly doesn’t explain or negate everything, but it puts an interesting twist on her character.
Depending on the type of ghost you are, you can have access to certain powers or magics. The ghosts of dead vampires tend to be able to use hemomancy, banshees & the ghosts of dead faefolk can use fae magic, the ghosts of dragons have access to dracomancy & crystomancy (gem infusion & foci magic), while specific yūrei (Japanese spirits) that also happen to be classified as yōkai have access to yōki.
Danny & Vlad, however, are also both a class of ghost called Gatekeepers. Gatekeeper Ghosts are what happens when someone dies in the making of a permanent portal or doorways from one world or universe or plane of existence & another. These spirits become bound to said portal & are tasked with guarding it.
Most portals don't actively require sacrifices, but the GZ is different as it's the afterlife & therefore always needs one to fuel the actual opening & then protect that opening.
Gatekeeper Ghosts generally take on the power common in the 2 worlds in order to better protect the gate. So, if a ghost were created in the making of a permanent portal to the Fae Wild, the ghost would have access to fae magic.
Most Gatekeepers are simple Earthbound spirits, however, because of the aforementioned phenomena, Gatekeepers of the GZ become Hereafterers instead. Likewise, because these specific Gatekeepers guard the doorways to the afterlife, they are part of a subclass called Psychopomp. In addition to guarding the gate, they are also expected to ferry spirits into the GZ so they can begin their Journey of the Soul(TM).
Danny has proven that he does this very well, while Vlad... not so much...

Falling Slowly
Chapter 16: Feels Like Home
Fandom: Teen Wolf
Characters: Stiles + Lydia
Summary: He doesn’t wake, but he grips her hand more firmly before murmuring a single word in the midst of sleep. Lyds.
Her eyes widen, and her heart leaps forward. It feels like a clue; the answer to her question falling slowly from his lips, like one of his divine kisses when she is longing for affection.
Lydia keeps her eyes on Stiles, the boy who always helps her figure things out…and suddenly, she remembers.
She remembers a weekend during junior year – the first time they fell asleep and woke up together…
Tumblr media
Lydia and Stiles were in his room on a Saturday night in February. He was seated at his desk, chewing on his thumbnail, brows furrowed and eyes narrowed as he scanned the content of a bulky, leather-bound book. She was sitting cross-legged on his bed, plaid comforter sprawled beneath her, a slightly smaller text flipped open on her lap. She remembers pursing her lips as she stared down at pages that were tattered at the edges and darkened with age.
For most of the afternoon and evening, they had been relentlessly researching banshee folklore. Not just banshees, but also sirens, caoineag, women in white – any supernatural being that was in any way related to the murky legend that had somehow become part of her reality.
She remembers checking her phone. It was 9:22 p.m. Another day, another pile of books, yet still no insight on how to focus her so-called abilities. She was tired. The kind of tired that gave her a headache. The kind of tired that made her want to put everything aside, shut the lights, throw the covers over her head, and think of nothing but things that made her happy. That was when her thoughts wandered…to Stiles.

Because of that assumption ask I got earlier, I thought I’d talk a bit about banshees and how Herinteractive uses them in HAU. Generally and with the exception of variations, Her uses them pretty correctly, even though it’s just an extremely old woman on a jet pack.
Banshee or Bean Sídhe (or Bean Síth ) are a neutral type of fairy from Irish and Scottish folklore. Her name means either fairy woman or woman of the fairy mound.
They are psychopomps, meaning they appear to warn someone of an upcoming death or a death that has already happened that they are unaware of. Sometimes they also appear to someone to warn them that they will soon be in a situation in which they will not come out alive. They know who to warn because banshees are believed to attach themselves to specific families, usually with O’ or Mac in front of them. Sometimes they’ve even come to America to find family members that left Ireland or ones that have descended from their families.
When they herald death, they don’t always screaming or wail. Sometimes they’re seen weeping/crying or keening(vocal lament for the dead in traditional Irish and Scottish funeral practices). This is done because the banshee is actually mourning the death of a member of her family. Which happens for one of two reasons: either the banshee is a fairy who considers the humans a part of her family or the banshee is a woman of that family who died because of child birth or murder. Because of variations, the banshee is considered both a fairy and a ghost or maybe a ghost fairy. (Scotland’s got ghost werewolves so ghost fairies aren’t out the question.) Donal tells Nancy that they’re about as alive as either of them but technically, he’s only sorta correct.
Another thing he’s only sorta correct about is the appearance of a Banshee. Some do appear as old woman but some appear young. They do have long hair, which can be white, red, and I think even black. They’re sometimes seen wearing white or grey with a green cloak. A ghastly complexion or even beautiful. Lastly, her eyes are always red from her constant crying.
Fun Facts:
When multiple appear that means someone great or holy has died
The O’Bríen clan belongs to a banshee named Aibell who is typically followed by the 25 others she rules over
Clíodna is considered the queen of the Banshees
She is similar to Caoineag, Bean Nighe, cyhyraeth, La Llorona, Les Lavandières, and other psychopomps
