Snippet
Making breakfast was his thing and god forbid you so much as make your own tea in the morning. Earl Grey was both of your tea of choice, Simon took his with cream and you took yours with milk. Breakfast has always been a domestic affair ever since you moved out of Manchester. The countryside was much nicer and Simon was often able to work at home. When the weather allowed for it Simon would work outside with you whilst you tended to the garden. You grew many things in the garden, it was rewarding when you picked fruits and vegetables that you grew yourself and Simon said that they taste better because of the love put into growing them.

you know what would have been infinitely cooler than what we got in acv the last chapter? if eivor didn’t know what to do with odin in her mind and sought out reda.
reda, the boy she uncannily remembers but can’t quite place.
reda, the boy who tells her they must have known one another in a past life.
reda, the goddamn immortal merchant who eivor might have noticed never grows older over the years.
she finds reda in some far-flung corner of england. he smiles when she tells him her worries, offers comfort in the knowing that no, her experience is not so unique, there have been others like her. they talk about what it means to leave home and what it is to be lonely. when to know to say goodbye. when to heed the call in your gut and when to ignore it for what’s in front of you.
and when eivor’s still struggling with the choice of following the pull in herself or stay and try to protect everything she knows, reda just leans over and pats her hand.
“your life, wolf kissed, is a page in a much larger saga drawn of many heroes. you have built a home, a family, security for those you love. some of these chapters we can watch unfold, but we must know that others will be written long after us. nothing lasts forever. it would do you well to remember this, and take care you do not spoil the winds of change for those who follow on. you may bring in an unexpected storm with you.”
eivor’s clever enough to pick up the undertone. there are consequences to staying, as much as there are going. she asks for clarification, but reda offers no answers.
she understands now, somehow, even if the thought is misty and intangible. odin is pointing her towards that larger story. this is something she has to do, for reasons she doesn’t know, for people she doesn’t know, but whatever it is must succeed. there are stakes to her not going. there is danger.
“in another life, i hope to live to find myself proven right,” eivor says.
she asks reda to drop in to ravensthorpe from time to time, and leaves with a parting message. there is a travelling warrior who, should she ever be seen on english soil again, will assist them at the mention of eivor’s name. this warrior is called kassandra, and eivor watches a vague flicker of shock pass over reda’s otherwise stoic face.
“kassandra,” he repeats once, twice, three times. he licks his lips and gives eivor a smile that she can’t quite place. “now wolf-kissed, there is a name i have not heard quite some time.”

Hey Jelly! I have a request, but feel free to ignore but I had an interesting idea since the anime and manga take place during the time of the vikings...
What if Levi and the rest of his squad run into Viking!reader who is the reincartnation of the Isu Odin, the norse god/cheif. They find her after they see her using a battle axe and bow to kill a titan. They kind of take her back to the walls with the promise of a bath and a hot meal.
I hope you don't mind me changing it a little, but I'll make her a reincarnation of Freyja instead to make her more in touch with nature and healing. I have a soft spot for her and I think she's a wonderful goddess! Also, I LOVE Norse mythology! So happy to make this.

Searching
Levi x fem!reader
Canon world, reincarnation, Norse mythology, goddess powers, action, falling in love, fluff, angst, reader has tattoos, reader has long hair with braids and beads.
While out hunting Titans, Levi and his squad discover you fighting a titan head-on with an axe, shield and bow. Transfixed by your abilities to use vines, along with your clothing, Levi rushes to your aid. After providing help and being patient with you, he talks to you and offers you a hot bath and a feast.
Note - reader's markings, clothes and hair were very inspired by Freya in god of war Ragnarok because I have an unhealthy love for the game and the character.

Heavy hoovers slammed against the rain-soaked ground. Mud spattered and flicked up as the horse raced across the land with its rider trying to make themselves small to hide from the rain. Clothes were soaked with the cold rain causing the squad to become chilled and tired. One last checkup was needed before they could return home.
Levi raised his head and peeked from under his hood to see the rain was slowly stopping. At least they would get some rest from the damn rain, Levi thought for a moment. Images of how muddy his back was came to mind causing Levi to click his tongue. The cleaning of his clothes didn't bother him, it was the fact this squad were likely worse off being in the back and they wouldn't clean as well as him.
In the distance was a Titan stumbling about, as if it was being bothered by something or someone. The sight of vines wrapping around the Titan's legs disturbed and concerned Levi. He raised his hand to bring his squad to a halt allowing him to go alone. As he raced closer his heart skipped a beat.
Before Levi was a beautiful woman, with long hair tied back with braids and beads within it. The black makeup around the eyes looked like a warrior marking. The clothes gripping the body of the fighter were a mixture of leather and cloth. Seeing someone take on a Titan with different weapons concerned him. He wasn't sure what was being used, but he knew he had to help the beauty.
You muttered a spell under your breath as you ran towards the towering Titan. Vines lifted your body allowing you to move closer. You jumped from vine to vine until you moved behind the Titan and fired a few more arrows.
Levi moved closer and cried out to you. "The nape! Attack the nape!"
You appreciated the assistance and guidance, now you knew how to kill this being. With a twist of your body, you exchanged your bow for your axe. Using all your strength, you launched yourself at the nape as both of your hands gripped the handle of your beloved axe.
A battle cry bellowed out from you as your axe impacted with the nape. With momentum and power on your side, you ripped into the nape before dropping to the ground. The Titan behind you reached for you but steam started to pour from it. A loud thud echoed out as it slammed against the ground an faded away.
You approached your helper and began talking to him, but the look of utter confusion on his face indicated he didn't understand your language. You pondered a moment and converted to the language he shouted at you in. "Thank you for your help."
Levi admired you more now you were up close. Tattoos decorated the parts of your arms he could see, along with your fingers and hands. Everything about you was beautiful and it flustered him. "Ah, we need to get our of here. Where are your people?"
"I arrived alone." You placed your axe on your hip. "May I ride with you?"
"Yes." He went to assist you, but you easily climbed up and onto his horse. "Uh, hold on."
You grabbed Levi's waist and hummed at the feeling of his muscles. "You are a warrior?"
"A warrior? I guess I am like that, we call ourselves soldiers."
You hummed in thought. "Interesting. You are strong, I can tell."
"Thank you."
The ride was a quiet one as he took you back to the walls. Seeing such grand and large walls was interesting to you, you'd never seen anything like this before. Getting past the walls was fascinating. The uniform of the soldiers was so different compared to the normal people walking around.
As soon as you arrived at the scout base, Levi ushered you away from the nosy scouts and took you to a spare room in the building. He showed you around and how to use everything there. You took a long deep bath and felt so refreshed, but now you were desperate with some food.
After changing into your things, you went on the hunt for a good meal. You walked past scared scouts and went into the mess hall. You sniffed the air and smelt delicious food. All you could think about was some good salted meat and bread, but you weren't sure if these people had that.
Levi hurried after you. "Hey! You!"
You turned and said your name. "I desire food. May I have access to your kitchen?"
He nodded and led you in the back. "Here. You can make what you want. We don't have much meat."
You looked over the food. "Any fish?"
He frowned a bit. "Fish?"
You nodded. "You are on a island, surely you fish?"
"No."
You searched your side bag and pulled out some salted fish. "I brought some with me. I was lucky arrive on the beaches."
"Beaches? You were there?"
You nodded and started grabbing some bread. You put a meal together and filled a wooden mug with water. "A good meal. Thank you for bringing me to a safe place."
Levi grabbed some food and followed you. "Were you outside the walls for a while?"
You sat down and nodded. "I was. I am not sure how I got here, but I intend to leave. I will make a boat and sail homeward. It will take me a while to make a boat..." You hummed in thought. "It is manageable."
"You could always stay. I'll look after you."
You giggled. "You are sweet. I would like to stay around you for company. I like you. You're a strong warrior." You reached over and caressed his cheek. "Handsome too."
Levi's cheeks burned. "Th-thank you." He cleared his throat. "Your skin..."
You showed him your tattooed fingers, the tips looked like they were dipped in black and then your fingers were wrapped in runic patterns. "They are tattoos. Ink is put into my skin, each symbol is an important rune. They guide my fingers in battle, as do the ones on my arms."
He admired them. "They're beautiful. So very beautiful..." He gulped hard and looked away. "Y-You're strong. Y-you're um weapons are interesting."
"I use an axe, it is a common weapon of my people. My bow too."
"What about the plants?"
You pulled at your bread. "I...I control them...with...a power..." You glanced over to Levi. "I am the goddess Freyja reincarnated. In my first life, I was a goddess of many things, but I was overshadowed by another due to the god Odin being blinded by greed and obsession. All my successes were given to another's name. I and all other gods died because of Odin. The world ended and a new one started and I was reborn. I intend to never see Odin again."
Levi's eyes sparkled a little as he listened to you. "Incredible."
Your cheeks burned a little. "Thank you...are you not afraid? Surely you have gods here."
"We worship a fucking wall. You are your people sound more interesting."
You smiled at him. "I will tell you everything you wish to hear."
Levi spent hours talking with you, he ignored every person that came by. You were his sole focus and fascination. The two of you had a lot in common even though you were from different lands. As the days went by, you taught Levi your native language and he took to it well. So, he started writing to you and speaking to you so you could have private converstations.
The two of you never wanted to be apart and eventually, your simple talks became sweet. You also started to give each other lingering touches and then you held hands and slipped into a romantic union. You wanted Levi to be with you for a long-lasting life, and you knew just how to do that by making him a god. Your intention was to bring up the idea of eternity with him in the future so your love would be written in the stars.

Hello dear angle. I'm back with an ask that idk if it's wierd or not. Actaully I'm trying to start a fanfic about a civilizade xenomorph society and I'm turing everthing I like to these cute little parasites. So… I wanted to ask what do you think about an android Desmond with his three white xenomorph ancestors? I've read several comics and novels of alien and what I discovered was that xenomorphs were created to be a biological weapon. So I was thinking what if Desmond android was created by abstergo to controll the xenemorphs. He is like a queen to them because of the DNA they share. In this au the assassin-templair war is not still over. And even in the sky they are trying to take cotroll over the galaxy. What if Desmond works in one of abstergo's labs. Until he saw a xenomorph for the first time in his life. It was pure white with a strange looking mark on its forhead. Some thing about this mark was familiar to him which he didn't know why. The first time he saw it he felt a strong bond between them. He felt so safe around that monster. It felt like family. Like home. He put his hand on the glass. The creature came closer with curiosity and placed its hand where was desmond's. And suddenly something flashed before Desmond's eyes. A face. A man with white cloak that was standing there and staring at him in a kind smile. And then he was in the lab again. He stared at the monster and smiled. "Ezio. So it's your name."
I will leave it from here for you. I belive in you. You can turn this to a movie that worths watching. And mabey it's ezides? I love ezides fanfics and i don't know why. They're kinda apposite but still cute. Your blog is wonderful 🤩
(Thank you! While I cannot promise I can make this a movie worth watching, I will do my best to make this something monster fuckers would at the very least be curious about XD)
It’s not weird. I mean, I’m fine with weird ideas XD
Also, Alien is one of my favorite horror movies.
For this one, what if we just throw away Alien/Prometheus canon and spin this into another AU (mainly because this gives us an excuse to not use the canon explanation of white xenomorphs and the proto xenomorphs.
For this one, let’s set up Abstergo as being sorta in a decline after humanity decided to live among the stars. While they had been focused on profiting and trying to eradicate the Brotherhood, Weyland-Yutani slips pass them and became the juggernaut corporation that more or less controlled human settlements.
DESMOND was meant to be the prototype of an android line that should have exceeded everything Weyland-Yutani approved androids could.
But there were a bit of problem with DESMOND. For one, he appeared too cold, less expressive than the cheapest android and has a hard time understanding orders.
It was a failure.
So Abstergo had to pivot and create a new product. They manage to get samples of Weyland-Yutani’s ‘prized’ secret project and a basic ‘overview’ of what it’s meant to be.
Unfortunately, the samples didn’t have enough genetic information to complete their version and they thought, “Hey, you know what we have? The DNA sample of some dude that died during the 21st century! That might work!”
In their defense, the lead of the project, Dr. Vidic (relation to the late Warren Vidic is unknown), believed in this ‘rumor’ that Sample 17 is the golden ticket to Abstergo’s success. It was the key to the success of the Animus Project. Why not this project as well?
If the human DNA is unusable for this project, Sample 17’s Isu DNA might be what they needed.
For this one, they made three Prototypes to use for different ‘experiments’.
They were called Zero-One, Zero-Two and Zero-Three.
Zero-One is taken to the deepest part of the space station to be experimented on.
Zero-Two is kept in one of the more secured floors to be observed with limited ‘contact’.
Zero-Three is kept on stasis while Zero-One and Zero-Two are being ‘observed’. Once the observation period is over, Zero-Three will be eliminated and dissected to gather more data using what data they gathered from Zero-One and Zero-Two.
DESMOND has been turned into a messenger android, delivering devices and other items and acting similar to someone who takes picture of the person who took a package.
It was one of the few things it could do without having to be supervised the entire time.
It is during one of its delivery to Dr. Vidic that it sees Zero-Two.
There was something about Zero-Two that makes it feel something.
Makes him feel something.
Their first meeting ends with him calling Zero-Two ‘Ezio’.
His Ezio.
DESMOND starts visiting him whenever he has the chance.
And Abstergo sees this all.
Hard not to considering the floor Ezio is in is covered in surveillance tech.
Dr. Vidic thinks this is a good thing.
DESMOND can communicate with Zero-Two. With enough time, DESMOND can be used to control Zero-Two.
No.
Control an army of them.
So he takes DESMOND under his wing and starts to supervise the meetings.
The tried and true method of carrot-and-stick.
With DESMOND being the carrot.
During that time, the team in charge of experimenting of Zero-One fuck up big time.
Maybe they didn’t take in consideration the idea that Zero-One would use its acid blood to destroy its cage.
Maybe they underestimated Zero-One’s intellect and it manages to get them to open the cage by pretending to be sick or dead.
Whatever the reason will be, the end result is the same.
Zero-One kills the team that has been experimenting on it and starts to hunt down everyone in the Space Station.
During this time, Dr Vidic gets the idea of hunting Zero-One using Zero-Two.
And he does it by having DESMOND become bait because he knows Zero-Two will protect DESMOND.
He didn’t take in consideration that DESMOND’s connection might not be exclusive to Zero-Two alone.
So when DESMOND sees Zero-One, he sees him about to kill another Abstergo personnel. The personnel begged for help but DESMOND simply stood there.
Dr. Vidic thought (as he watched the feeds from a drone) that DESMOND is doing as ordered, to find Zero-One and to place himself in danger until Zero-Two gets to his position (Zero-Two has been fashioned with a device that would push a strong sedative inside him in a push of a button, deliberately placed in a part of his body that he cannot use his acid blood to dissolve it)
Zero-One kills the personnel and starts moving to DESMOND’s position on all fours. A predator slowly making its way to its next kill.
That’s when Dr. Vidic sees DESMOND take a step towards Zero-One and reach a hand.
Without any mirror, DESMOND touches Zero-One as he says, “Altaïr?”
“You want to kill them all? Okay.”
“… We can do that.”
.
Unorganized Notes:
They take Ratonhnhaké:ton out of stasis during Altaïr’s rampage and DESMOND stays with him because he hasn’t gotten used to moving yet and is the most vulnerable of the three.
Considering it’s me, I would suggest we just turn this into all three main couples (AltDes, EziDes, ConDes) for triple the ‘fun’.
They feel a connection to DESMOND because he is created to be a complete copy of Sample 17 with an android body. Technically, his ‘genetics’ is more or less in that ‘white fuel’ he creates himself and a bunch of 1s and 0s makes up Sample 17’s entire DNA.
In a more… ‘strange’ level, they feel a connection to DESMOND and DESMOND feels a connection with them because they’re the closest species to one another. Both created from Sample 17.
If you want smut in this one, well, they see DESMOND as their Queen and they have the instinct to mate with their Queen because Sample 17’s genetic code had a hardwired ‘order’ of needing to reproduce sexually. (to create Desmond Miles but the order is still there). Otherwise, they feel the need to protect DESMOND and to satisfy his every desire.
The xenomorphs take one more and more characteristics of the ‘target’ ancestor in terms of personality and habits. On the flipside, DESMOND starts acting more… ‘selfish’ the longer he stays with the three.
This would end with the space station succumbing to the xenomorphs but Dr. Vidic manages to send out an SOS before he dies.
This is the part where we can focus on developing DESMOND’s relationship with the xenomorphs (insert smut here if you want).
Then… an Abstergo rescue ship is pinged on the radar and… more cannon fodders as well as the possibility of finally leaving the space station.
The twist is there’s an Assassin aboard the rescue ship and this Assassin would get in contact with DESMOND and realize who he is based on because the Brotherhood never forgot Desmond Miles. (this gives us the chance to make this either (1) DESMOND and the xenomorphs joining the Brotherhood for a sorta morally gray good guys scenario or (2) they kill the Assassin and go on full on corrupted “the world against us” setup)

New chapter of the Children of Kephallonia, The Invasion of Paros, is now up! And the above sums things up better than anything else I could say 😂
More fic details below!
The Children of Kephallonia is an Assassin’s Creed Odyssey fic that starts at the beginning of the Korinth storyline, when Kassandra learns that Aspasia sent Phoibe to Monger ruled Korinth and decides she’s never letting her girl be put in danger like that again. And while bringing Phoibe on the Adrestia puts her in a whole new kind of danger, well... at least Kassandra can keep an eye on her.
Featuring:
Phoibe being the Atreus to Kassandra’s Kratos, as we deserved
a hopefully fun new interpretation of Kassandra and Ikaros’ bond
a less fun but arguably more accurate look at Kassandra and Myrrine’s relationship
Kassandra, Barnabas, and Herodotos taking turns with their shared braincell
Lots of references to Kassandra and Phoibe’s life on Kephallonia
Additional backstories for Deimos, Barnabas, Markos, etc.
Kassandra being an legitimate demigod (fuck the Isu) and a slight reinterpretation of the Cult’s MO to match
Lots of ships
fun little notes at the end of each chapter
And most importantly
Kassandra being the very best mom she can be to her beloved baby bird Phoibe
Rating: M
Warnings: Canon Typical Depictions of Violence, Mild Sexual Content, and the occasional vague reference to attempted or threatened sexual assault
Romantic Relationships: Kassandra/Brasidas, Kassandra/Daphnae, Kassandra/Alkibiades, Kassandra/Kyra/Thaletas, and Kassandra/Anais

The Jiehu/Mountain Shaper yelling from before has returned with more coping. But much calmer this time.
After playing a majority of the lantern rite one has concluded that these models simply MUST be disguises and not our actual human forms. For not only does Xianyun state she "sees through them" but one and Houzhang even dared to try and pretend to be real humans to her for a moment!
One is confident in saying we would never try such a thing had these been our real forms. So as one suspected, we took note that Xianyun gets more attention than we desired for a simple holiday trip, and decided to be more subtle.
One only hopes that ones correct suspicions mean Houzhang and one will actually become playable one day. One has been waiting for three years already. One is sure one could wait three more- especially if we continue to get attention in the next lantern rites.
It was quite refreshing getting to see us repeatedly return during the story. One does hope we continue to make apperances at festivals. Maybe in our proper forms some day just as Xianyun has.
The only downside is this will be ones face in fanart for quite some time... sigh. It is such a dreadfully dull face, isnt it?

KhunBam Dungeon Meshi AU doodles
Explore the dungeon and discover delicious monster-cooking recipes with Bam's party!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Trivias and HCs:
1. Bam once got trapped in the dungeon, where he discovered he could eat the monsters there.
2. When Bam was taken to upper ground, he kinda misses the taste of monsters he ate back then. When he has the chance to go back to the dungeon with his new party, he's overjoyed that he can try monster-cooking again.
3. Bam has many secrets from his time being trapped in dungeon.
4. Khun is Bam's 1st party member, but before then he's already Bam's close friend.
5. Khun is a mage graduated from magic academy. His main element is ice.
6. Endorsi was actually an ordinary human. Her soul got mixed with a beast's soul in an accident in her past.
7. Having a feline characteristics, Endorsi is incredibly flexible and it makes her a strong combatant
8. Endorsi is a calico cat
9. Both Hatz and Isu are the last member joining Bam's party
10. Hatz is a swordsman from eastern archipelago
11. Before joining Bam's party, Isu works as an informan
12. Just like in canon, Hatz and Khun bicker a lot. Bam thinks they are really close, aren't they?
13. Khun always initially never agrees when Bam wants to cook monsters, but then gives up because he's a pining idiot and he can't refuse Bam.
14. Yes, Khun is in love with Bam.
15. Bam likes Khun too, but he's too dumb about romantic love.
16. Bam is too immersed in monster-cooking to realize his feelings, Khun is too scared to tell Bam about his feelings. You know, the usual.
17. Rak is also the part of Bam's party, he's the real latest member of the party. I just haven't decided his race yet. That's why he isn't here
18. There are Yuri and Evan too, Yuri is also a beastkin ( I planned all the Jahad Princesses to be beastkin because you know, beastkins are artificially made just like Jahad Princesses). Evan stays as his canon race (dwarf)
19. Bam has a sword named The Black March. Yuri gave it to him, she was also his first sword-wielding teacher
20. There's a rumor about the devil of the dungeon in the lower level spreads around the adventurers. The devil was seen to have a pair of horns, A pair of jet black wings, and a long dark hair. Its presence suddenly vanished mysteriously, at the same time Bam was taken to the upperground.

I read your post that is about what if Basim names his eagle companion "little eagle" and I want this so much! 😭 I was going to reply to the post but saw that someone had dropped the name there and didn't want to accidentally make you see that so that's why I messages. I apologise if that's like a too private thing to do
Not to worry at all love <3 It was very thoughtful of you honestly, considering the game hadn’t come out yet at the time that I’d made the post! And you coming to my ask box gives me the perfect excuse to gush about things I’ve been holding in for a while now.
Spoilers ahead for anyone who hasn't played the game yet! For everyone else, please bear with my rambles.
While my desire for an Arabic variant of “little eagle” to be used has been debunked since release, I have to say that the canon name for Basim’s eagle is 20x better than anything I could've imagined for several reasons.
The most prominent is the direct correlation between Gilgamesh, the hero from the Mesopotamian mythos “The Epic of Gilgamesh”, and Basim. The very mythos that Enkidu derives from.
For those of you who don’t already know, the epic describes the relationship between Gilgamesh, the great powerful ruler of Uruk, and Enkidu, a male created by the gods to divert Gilgamesh from wreaking havoc in the world.
Gilgamesh and Enkidu become comrades, friends, and probably lovers before Enkidu dies at the hands of fate. Prior to his death, Enkidu’s ability to humanize and soften Gilgamesh’s heart through friendship was what inevitably saved the people of Uruk from his tyranny. And, upon Enkidu’s death, Gilgamesh struggles with his grief so much that he starts to deny his own mortality and goes in search of everlasting life.
Basim’s story parallels the Epic of Gilgamesh so intimately that it’s uncanny.
As a street thief, Basim inflicts his “tyranny” over the people of Baghdad by assassinating the Caliph al-Mutawwakil in 861, which in turn marks the beginning of the extreme internal instability of Baghdad for 9 years.
Once partnered with Enkidu, Basim is seen as a more well-rounded and balanced person who recovers from what he inflicted on the people of Baghdad (in no small part thanks to his training with the Hidden Ones, but I digress).
Enkidu abandons Basim once he is fully merged with Loki, fully revoking him as his master as a changed man with ambitions to seek immortality.
Now, this might be a stretch, but allow me to be utterly self-indulgent through the bytham lens.
Originally, in the novel "The Golden City", Hytham was appointed to Basim's command by their Masters to spy on him and ensure that he did not stray from the ideologies and goals of the Hidden One's (not dissimilar to how the gods created Enkidu to reign back Gilgamesh's wrath).
As a result, Basim’s fate becomes so closely interwoven with Hytham’s that they become practically inseparable throughout their years working together. Wherever Basim went, Hytham dutifully stood right by his side, despite the implied dangers of his ulterior ambitions.
Hytham complicates Basim’s mission to find the Norsemen that would eventually lead him to Norway to grasp the immortality waiting for him in the ancient Isu structures hiding in the depths of Hordafylke. Whether Basim had wanted it or not, he canonically comes to care for Hytham so much more than he ever wanted to, and in turn, Hytham becomes "closer to him than anyone still living."
Basim is humanized once more and gains another Enkidu, a young eagle no less.
And it is only once Hytham sustains a debilitating injury in his battle against Kjotve and forced to abandon Basim's side, that Basim finally slips away and redoubles his efforts in search for immortality.
So yeah, plain and simple. I adore the name Enkidu for Basim’s eagle companion. It’s the gift that keeps on giving :)

I mean, "if the city is in a full riot and all the enemies are dead, I successfully Stealthed" is a viable option. Not a good one, but it gets the job done. You're definitely better at it than I am by the simple metric that you do indeed get through the mandatory stealth segments.
Which is why while I love the AC fics, I have zero idea that's going on beyond osmosis and just riding the weirdness. Desmond dies/not-dies and is mistaken for an angel in Ezio's Italy? Desmond is yoten into the super old past and Eagle Man thinks he's a doctor because the guy knows basic germ theory? Desmond can 100% write in Eagle Man's handwriting and spook Ezio-era Templars with Seemingly Immortal Eagleman Cometh ominous letters?
So like Desmond surviving and picking up pre-Hogwarts Harry? Yes. Delicious. Although funny thought: Petunia has traces of Isu DNA in her if she's related to Desmond. So much for being "perfectly normal".
Fair enough. I mean if you’re interested in the actual canon story there are always the cutscene movies on youtube. Which tbh is how I refreshed myself on ac1 since it’s not on PlayStation and I’m not paying like $30 for it on Xbox when it’s like fifteen years old.
Wait is the Des harasses people with Altairs handwriting an actual fic because like imma need a link for that one it sounds hilarious.
I was thinking more “Lily was adopted” but god imagine if Petunia also had Isu DNA and Desmond’s frustration while trying to convince her she and Dudley are in danger with them just not listening to him and making him just take Harry (who might have it from both sides?). It would definitely open up the door for the possibility of angst later as well.

Impact of figure skating politics on post-canon Yuri!!! on Ice
So, even aside from the rampant doping, I think many people are familiar with how the politics within the sport of figure skating really suck -- whether that's in terms of how skating federations meddle with their athletes' careers in ways these athletes clearly don't want or don't even know about, the way regulatory bodies -- the International Skating Union (ISU), and its various Commissions -- can and do remain silent when it comes to speaking out on abuse or corruption, or the complete shit-show of bias within judging, sometimes on a ludicrously visible level.
After all, this is a sport where a judge that showed clear bias at the PyeongChang Olympics was not only invited back to judge at the Beijing Games, but was given the position of being the technical controller!
Sheer madness...
It makes sense why Yuri!!! on Ice didn't delve into this stuff in a 12 episode season b/c the reality is: it's a major bummer.
But I work in public policy and am a social justice researcher whose career focuses on institutional change. So I often find myself asking the question "what would cause institutions/people/movements -- especially with a lot of history and influence behind them -- to change for the better, whether by 'force' (public outcry, insider advocacy, etc.) or their own volition?" It's a question I started thinking about a lot almost as soon as I got into Yuri!!! on Ice a few years back, and specifically, thought about in a post-canon context.
Some of the politics-related questions that surfaced for me, included:
-When Viktor returns to skating, how would his federation (the FFKKR) choose to treat his absence? Would they, perhaps, "make an example" of him at the Rostelecom Cup, purposely underscoring his performances? Or, would they have "given up" on him, trying to focus all of their attention/resources on Yurio's obvious rising star potential?
-Further, would they (with tacit or explicit media support) take a negative stance regarding his and Yuuri's highly public relationship -- perceiving Viktor's romance as a "threat" to his ability to return to the field as strong and focused as before -- or would they choose to ignore it, altogether?
-How would Yurio's growth spurt (which is hinted at in canon) impact the FFKKR's treatment of Viktor if the former is no longer able to put out the kind of performance that he did at the Barcelona Grand Prix Final? Or if Georgi retires from the field?
-How would skaters that wish to skate independently of corrupt federations -- something that is currently not possible under the way the ISU is structured with 'member nations' -- navigate their careers, and what avenues would they have at their disposal to avoid burn-out from the shitstorm of pervasive corruption?
-How would politics affect our favorite characters at an event as globally visible as the PyeongChang Olympic Games, and in its aftermath? (I say this with the caveat that I generally write yoi fic w/ the premise that it took place during the first half of the 2016 skating season, though there is no way to pinpoint the actual season).
All of these questions kept circling about in my head, and I felt highly motivated to begin writing a multichapter, post-canon "future fic". Specifically, a fic that would tell the story of married Yuuri/Viktor at the 2022 Olympic Games, but jumping back in time at various points over the previous five years to showcase how a particular scandal -- other than doping -- at the 2018 PyeongChang Games has "followed them" throughout the years (and has deeply impacted the sport/our other favorite characters).
This fic turned into a series called "Gold's On The Inside, Elevated My Feet", which currently is at 293K total words, and is being updated 1-2 times per month.
I know a lot of people aren't into long, novel-length works, especially if they're WIPs, but if you, like me, are fascinated by some of the real-world issues that might impact Yuuri/Viktor/Yurio and others post-canon, I hope you'll consider checking my work out.
I've included a spoiler-free excerpt from Chapter 11 of part 1 of the series, below, that I feel hints at the politics while encapsulating the Viktuuri fluff, friendship antics, and overall supportive themes that I've tried to weave into my stories.
I hope it piques your interest and encourages you to check the series out, or my other Yuri!!! on Ice fics!

“First of all, how the hell would you have even managed to contact me from all the way over in the Kiss and Cry?” Phichit went on. “Did they imagine you had waved a wand to send a carrier pigeon flying through Gangneung Ice Arena to land directly on my head ? After which, it would peck an intimidating message in Morse code straight onto my scalp?”
Yuuri was now hiccuping giggles, and he was pleased to see that he’d begun to wipe a profuse quantity of tears from his cheeks.
When his best friend had told him that he wanted to hear all the nitty-gritty details of his International Court of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS) hearing, Phichit had definitely had some misgivings; Yuuri and Viktor had flown to Lausanne for their own proceedings directly after the latter’s retirement party in Milan, and given what they’d told him about each brutally long-winded 4 hour session, he’d known fun things were not in store for him.
“But Yuuri without his glasses on can be very intimidating…very sexily intimdating,” Viktor said with a grin, prompting a playful slap on the arm from his fiance; thanks to Yuuri’s thirsty fans, the hashtag #Yuuri’sNearsightedSexySquintTally had become a staple on the competition circuit, and both he and Viktor had taken to alluding to the phrase as much as possible.
“Yes, I’m sure that’s exactly what permanent-frown-dude-arbitrator was referring to,” Yuuri responded, sarcastically, “my nefariously sexy squinting that so very clearly spelled out that Phichit better file a claim, or else.”
He and Viktor both laughed, and he shared a few more snippets from his hearing before conversation moved along to discussion around the other Olympics claimants’ hearings.
“Oh my god, just imagine Christophe during his,” Yuuri said, before giving Makkachin a kiss, right to the top of her fuzzy head.
The poodle was splayed out across both of her dog-dad’s laps, taking up much of the bench directly in front of the rink boards at Hasetsu’s Ice Castle. After their hearing, the couple had flown to St. Petersburg, spending just a few days there to get Makka and Meni and do a round of cursory packing. They’d then taken off for Japan where they planned to stay until mid-June, which was the beginning of the rainy season.
Even from afar, Phichit had been able to keep tabs on Yuuri thanks to Nishigori Yuuko. After thoroughly bonding with her at Viktor’s retirement party – after all, a willingness to drunkenly act out the unhinged plot of The King and the Skater 3: Because Time Loops Are A Thing tended to solidify people in Phichit’s mind as lifelong friends – she had been messaging him through Instagram as well as contributing heavily in the “Yuuri Support Squad” chat.
Soon enough, he’d be able to keep tabs on him in-person, as his own trip to Hasetsu was just three weeks away.
“He’d be all: ‘And then, my esteemed arbitrators, I got distracted from calculating Yuuri’s grade-of-execution, because my eyes were too busy lingering on his delectably muscled thighs as he came out of his triple-lutz, triple-toe combo’,” Viktor said, in a deliberately put-upon Swiss accent, while lasciviously licking his lips.
Phichit barked out a laugh while Yuuri grinned at him.
“Are you sure you aren’t just verbalizing the thoughts you wish you could have expressed during your hearing?” he asked his fiance.
Viktor gasped, theatrically, and clutched Meni even more closely to his chest before responding.
“I would never think such a thing! I’ve become an expert at admiring your beautiful thighs while simultaneously calculating your GOE,” he said, sounding proud. “As any good coach should be.”

This is based off @teecupangel's Desmond-in-Trigun post.
---
In Assassin’s Creed, there’s a Precursor race called the Isu, the Ones that Came Before. Tall, supernaturally beautiful, likes to wear glowing clothes. Created the human race as slaves.
Trigun has the Plants, tall, (fanonly?) supernaturally pretty, can glow, & are a slave race to humans. Can be considered the Ones that Came After.
Both species have supernatural abilities, bordering on miraculous. Its almost like they're mirrors of each other...
---
Assuming the Grey & the Higher Plane are the same or related, & the Isu are able to tap into the Grey to power their miraculous devices, mad scientists used the Animus Subjects’ bodies (who all have higher Isu genes) to create the first Plants, let’s call them the Grand Plants. They’re then used to create the canon Dependent Plants, with Desmond's stronger genes used as the main base.
Timeskip later, most of them are sent off on Colony Ships. Then, we reach canon Trigun.
---
Grand Plants starts off brain dead, since they’re made from corpses. The Subjects’ fragments slowly seep in from the Grey / Higher Plane, healing the mind & soul until they can awake, years & years into the future. So by the time any Grand Plant wakes up, their Colony Ships will have already reached their planets or perished in space.
As the origin of the Plant species, each Grand Plant is stronger in their respective fields, but weaker or useless in the others. Any Independent Plant spawned will also have the same skewed ability sets as their parent GP.
Desmond is the Messiah/Cipher, ability set is everything the canon Plant twins can do, but he needs to unlock them first. Guess Plants can telepathically talk to his Bleeds now too, for extra hilarity.
Clay is the Scapegoat/Herald?, similar ability set to Des but weaker. He does have better mental abilities though. Plants can also talk to his Bleed, yes~
---
Maybe Grand Plants can use the Higher Plane to pull inter-galaxy teleportation? Pushing it further, potential method to time travel?
Endgame is yeeting Desmond n Clay with all their Grand Plant powers back into the past, though I haven’t decided which era to. Could even drag post-canon Trigun twins along, as well as the Hopeland brothers via ‘oh, you’re half-married to my youngest? / nephew-in-law!’ shenanigans.
Since the GPs aren’t very human anymore, the Isu’s POEs can’t effect them as much, but they can still control them, perhaps even to a better degree, thanks to their understanding of future tech.
---
Random stuff
Brain insists the Ark of Covenant from AC1 can summon energy animals, & shrink down to an Apple sized ring for easy storage; Why are you like this, brain
The Plants group now calling themselves Ushi / Uzi, as a reference to how they’re almost the opposite of the Isu?

okay so, I'm going to get to Lucy Stillman and the franchise's treatment of her, but i think I need to explain my own feelings about the portrayal of the modern brotherhood first. I do not buy the "brotherhood = conspiracy theory cult" angle. It's flawed and leads to terrible takes overall, by the lore and by the fandom.
It's a holdover from the fact that the game decides to run with conspiracy theories that we have in the real world, and assign them all to the Isu. they even poke fun of it in the earlier games with the whole lizard people and space wizards in tinfoil hats comments. now that's a whole can of worms in itself given how deeply racist and antisemitic the overwhelming majority of conspriacy theories are, but it's not a good way to portray the assassin brotherhood because that's not what they are. they are far leftists. they are anarchist cells, they are commune organizers, they are revolutionaries. that's not me saying it either, that's just canon, plain and simple.
but that would make the story too close to real-life politics and they can't do that cus it's not in their interests.
therefore, the brotherhood is coded as isolationist cultists, or at least as far as The Farm goes. in current year, i think we can all agree there's an inherent fallacy (if not outright disengenuous portrayal) of painting your leftist organization fighting against the capitalist neocolonial hegemony with the same strokes as the whacky people starting communes in the middle of nowhere to escape 5G towers, fluoride water and the [insert villanized minority group here].
i don't buy it, i don't appreciate it, and i think we could have had a stronger story without it, even regarding Desmond's backstory.
THAT SAID, let's take a look at Lucy. her's is the story of a girl who was forced into adulthood too early after being left to her own devices by a very sheltered and isolating community that failed her, and then inducted into a cult which ultimately killed her and then was promptly swept under the narrative. that cult is the templar order by the by.
Lucy was born and raised within the Brotherhood, and pretty much set lose on the world with no connectiosn to speak of. surely they must have given her a paper trail, fake parents and school enrollments, medical records, the works. she was told to infiltrate Abstergo and probably given a general path towards that, namely research that could be useful to them, but otherwise? she was on her own.
first thing that comes to mind is when Amish folks get their time away from their hometown to experience the world and choose to come back or not. i can't comment on their experience and general view on this so i won't attempt to draw a parallel here, but just that initial mental connection speaks for itself imo.
She speaks of having to wait tables to make ends meet, and while that's the socially expected experience of solo living for a young adult leaving home (work minimun wage jobs, go to college, climb the chain, start small, etc), she has no home to return to. In fact there's this looming tension that even opening up to missing her home or going into detail about it could blow her cover. Even in the privacy of being around friends and colleagues, there's this necessity of keeping up a front. She has to buy it so deeply it becomes her, inside and out, and doing that at such a formative age is bound to take it's toll.
You're removed from everything and everyone you've ever known. You don't know when or if you'll ever see them again. In fact they can die at any moment and you might never hear about it. Contact with them is a fraught and dangerous thing, and even the slightest slip could spell your doom and theirs. Connection is a constant swinging sword of Damocles over her, and who can take comfort and solace from community like that? No one, is who. So of course she'd seek that away from where she could endanger everyone.
So in comes Vidic. She knows he's a templar, of course she does, but he's kind and understanding, a bit frustrating and headstrong, but she can usually talk him into chilling out here and there. And of course, one can draw a parallel between him and Bill. Both are strict and charismatic (in their own way) father and mentor figures, but while Bill is cold and hard, Vidic feigns affection (as Haytham so eloquently put) and the worst part is, it works. Any affection and attention is good attention for the starved, and Lucy's been on the end of her ropes since she's been outside of the Brotherhood.
She knows and can see it's all manipulation, she's not that blind of course, but it chips away at her. That's what emotional manipulation does after all. And then, in come the agents to kill her, and Vidic stops them.
All her life she's heard how brutal and merciless the templars are, and surely she's seen it too while working under them, but right when her facade slips and she should be dead, she's not. Because Vidic spares her. Of course that leaves a deep impression on her, and further erodes her resolve. Slowly but surely, she opens up, and Vidic is an expert at what he does. She may hold quite a bit of guilt and shame at turning, but the templars were there when the brotherhood wasn't.
Bill says that of those they send to infiltrate the templars, they are either "too strong" and can't keep up the charade, or are "too weak" and turn. How is being a human being who needs connection and community "too weak"? How is being slowly lovebombed and manipulated into choosing the wire mother and then being foresaken the plush one when in need weakness?
Desmond says that she "seemed so sincere, like she really wanted to make a difference", and I truly believe she did. Her morals and belief were twisted through years of emotional torture and isolation, and she knew she couldn't return to the brotherhood after how far she caved under the pressure. There's no space for the nuances and endless gray areas of such an unbalanced war in the current brotherhood, and she knows it, so throwing in with the templars for her was the lesser evil. She's not fool enough to buy their propaganda wholesale, but it's a necessary concession in her mind so she can excuse her taking advantage of their attention and community. Again, as long as she's useful to them, she has a place among them.
However, the way she's treated by the narrative is... w o w. We never get the chance to hear it from her side, expect by a pathetically short email on the ACR dlc. While having the protagonists agonize over someone's beliefs after their passing and finding no solid answers, they really don't spend nearly enough time for that to carry much weight narratively. In fact, there's hardly much of a critique on the conditions that led her to that kind of fall from grace, and even less is done to fix it.
She, much like Clay, are the epitomes of how the brotherhood is mirroring too much the templar's and Juno's disregard for human life, and how that needs to change in order for them to turn the tides. But nothing comes of it, because our anchor to the modern timeline gets doomed by the narrative and now all those loose plot holes go nowhere. Her funeral, her burial, her memory, it all gets waved about like an annoying gnat on the dinner table, and nobody does anything but try their best to ignore it until it goes away. Her actress couldn't keep with their schedule, so they got rid of her in the most pathetic horrifyingly dismissive way possible.
Personally I'm not a fan of the templar turncoat plotline they gave her, but if that's what they wanted to go with, then it needed much MUCH more careful writing and it needed to fucking GO SOMEWHERE. But it doesn't. And it sucks.

Writing update
Earlier this month, I announced that I want to post more about writing and the overall progress of my works. However, over Europeans and some work-related things, I kinda neglected this. Shame on me.
First things first: Since I started this task about three weeks ago, I have edited about 33% of all scenes in my YOI post-canon story Did My Heart Love 'Til Now. I was able to declutter the text, cut dialogues or rearranged the different parts of a scene, but also added stuff where I found it necessary for characterisation or setting, which results in about 1-2k more words so far. But no need to panic, as the entire story is about 330k words, this effect is marginal. Also, this is pretty normal editing behaviour for me lol.
Picking the scenes randomly from a spreadsheet allows me to look at each one from a distance as I don't get drawn into the story. As a consequence, I decided that I want to cause Yuuri even more distress at the 2016 Four Continents and thus raise the stakes for the finale of this story [Worlds]. That was by far the most complex and extensive part to edit so far as it included recalculating of the scores of three characters, including fair and unfair scoring for each of them based on the ISU base values and rules for the 2015-2016 season. I had so much fun doing this and it was super enlightening to see for myself how things like GOE, underrotations, edge calls, and downgraded jumps can affect the scores of a skater. (I knew before as I sometimes check the protocols when the scores don't make sense, but it's different if you calculate them yourself.) I might write a post about how exactly I calculate figure skating scores for my stories.
Over the next two days, I will prepare the chapters of Can You Hear My Heartbeat and Thousand Spotlights I will post in February, and then continue with the revision. I hope to be done by mid March as starting then, I will have significantly less spare time for a few months, and because I need a beta-reading for Did My Heart Love 'Til Now that ideally should be finished before I will post the last chapter of CYHMH in case I must make any bigger changes.
Right now, I'm planning to write the story about young Vitya after that before I'll pick up my work on In Love and War.
Edit: For now, I will continue posting Thousand Spotlights. After the last chapter, I received several very kind and uplifting comments that showed me that this story is far more appreciated than I thought and that there's an audience for it after all. Thank you for this <3
Edit 2: If you're interested in reading excerpts: I often post snippets of my current wips for the ficwip game on Wednesdays (hashtags: #ficwip, #word game wednesday).
