A visit to Snowchester 🏘️❄️

This was originally a request for the expression + palette challenge, but I got a bit carried away.

Some design notes and closeups under the cut!

Techno:

Techno has golden streaks and golden scars with two emeralds from the Totem he used to save him from the execution.

He wears an emerald earring that matches with Phil.

The roses and thorns are to show how something beautiful can also spill blood, and as a reference to the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. The ruby gem that connects to them represents a droplet of blood.

Tubbo:

Tubbo's right side is significantly more scarred since he instinctively turned left when he was executed. He also rised both arms to subconsciously try to protect himself from the fireworks, losing two left fingers and leaving his right arm very fragile in the incident. He lost his right arm when he jumped to protect Tommy from a firework during Doomsday.

He has a long scar on the left side of his face from the battle with Tommy in the destroyed Community House. Tommy has a matching one on his right side.

His horns are still growing, not fully formed yet (he's a cow hybrid). One of his horns is scarred from him trying to file it down when it started to grow during New L'Manberg, but didn't manage to do it.

He wears Tommy's red bandana around his neck, but will swap its placement depending on what he's doing.

Ranboo:

Ranboo has very light tear scars on their cheeks from being half ghast and crying ghast tears. Since they're not fully ghast, the tears are so acidic they burn their skin.

They have a dandelion on their horn, given to them by Tommy. Tommy, in turn, has a netherite earring with an ender eye on his.

In the background, set in Tubbo's house, we can see a vase with two pink tulips, given to him by Ranboo, and the "Your Tommy" compass. It's snowing outside.

The final result of the poll is a win for Technoblade & Philza! Congrats to everyone who participated, and thank you all for your enthusiastic and generous participation in this event! This was a final win of 86% to 14%, or 1,983 votes to 320, meaning that Techno & Phil never fell below holding 85% of the vote in any showdown they were in. A sweep the whole way.

if we wished for our gift to be for a specific of ours, would that be allowed? or does it have to be vague stuff, like ‘mafia au + peer pressure duo’?

Your gifter does technically have free range to do anything as long as they abid by your DNW + the holiday list + including at least one of the requested characters.

However most people are pretty eager to fit to what their giftee wants, so you can absolutely provide specific prompts, as long as the prompt is reasonable!

To expand on that, I would say "I want a second chapter of an AU I'm writing, nothing else will please me" is probably not reasonable, or "I want X to go to space and then meet Y and then they're captured by B and tortured by B + A and they escape via mind-hacking and then it turns out that C is a traitor who helps them but dies tragically and X and Y escape into the asteroid belt where Z greets them in a magical fantasy planet, and X has to be a centaur creeper who only sees in shades of green and Y has to be hydrophobic and they have to communicate via mind link where they share emotions" would be too strict, even if that is a bit of a banger concept.

However, "I'd love a peerpressure duo mafia au where ranboo is a prisoner and techno is the undercover superhero who breaks him out, OR slice of life high fantasy boreal trio, OR I have this obscure AU based on the board game RISK that I'd love to see art for"— that would be fine. It's all about making sure your gifter has options.

Techno cared about Ranboo so much, but he sees the look in Tubbo’s eyes and knows that his grief is deep, deep inside. Ranboo was Techno’s disciple, but he was Tubbo’s husband. Tubbo deserves to take the lead. Whatever he needs. Techno will support him. He’ll prove that he isn’t… whatever Ranboo was worried he might be.
