#but phil is very good at doing subtle things for lore and i feel like the way he said that was intentional

what makes me sad abt philever is that they COULD have had a good shot. i know it’s silly and funny and everyone says forevers love was unrequited completely but like…. hasn’t phil said several times that maybe things would have been different if forever didn’t just like him bc he looks like brunim? i know phil peaces out whenever lore is happening so i don’t think he would ever actually fully commit to the bit but i do feel like there’s an inkling of sadness whenever phil says there could have been something between them or that forever only wants him for his looks

ABOUT APPEREANCES - ACCESORIES
Tumblr media
I've always wanted but never got to write about the outside, so to speak-- how Lydia presents herself. What she wears, what she smells like. And in the book saga, it's very important because it's usually representative of the characters. Jewerly, for example! Most sorceresses in the saga have distinctive jewerly ( triss has lapislazuli, yenna has an obsidian star, phil agate and so ), and we know it's a big deal because it's used to amplify power. Their perfumes are, as well, a reflection of who they are. So have Lyd's bc I said so.
jewerly: MOONSTONE
Lydia wears a single thin silver chain (close to her neck almost like a choker necklace) with a moonstone shaped as a teardrop. It's small and delicate. While beautiful and representative of femininity and romance, compared to others moonstone is a very fragile stone that can easily be broken.
perfume: JASMINE
Lydia smells distinctively of jasmines. Jasmines mean beauty, purity, modesty and are a symbol of love and devotion. Lydia's love and devotion defines her, yet she picked that scent even before she met the sole recipient of those feelings.
clothing: DARK&MODEST
While it's not the colour scheme she actually likes, Lydia usually wears dark clothes. Either black or dark red, purple, brown, green and blue. It helps her not stand out and blend in, be nothing but a shadow, where she thrives. The dresses she wears usually conceal her from neck to toe, and more often than not she binds her chest. Her favourite fabric is silk. The dresses are tight and she does wear a lot of corsets, but it is very rare of her to show skin.
make up: LIGHT
She's an amazing painter, has a steady hand and a good eye for colours. Her make up reflects those skills and she does enjoy wearing it. It's always subtle-- she doesn't like to draw attention, so she usually goes for natural looks. She does love lipstick and owns an absurd variety of colours.
Tumblr media
some extra bits about everything bc i felt like it
necklace:
(resurrection AU verse) we know Lydia's body was dragged by redanian soldiers when she died in Thanedd. Philippa recovered her corpse, but the necklace was gone. It's the only thing she misses from her years as a sorceress, not because of the meaning but because of something much more basic as thinking it was a pretty necklace.
perfume:
Lydia loves painting but between assisting and research, I don't think she had the time to ALWAYS have a painting in the doings. Besides I do think, in the later years, that she paints only when comissioned to do so. When she does, besides jasmine, Lydia has to carry the scent of turpentine or whatever lore-friendly-medieval-stuff used to thin oil painting/as a solvent.
wardrobe:
listen to me, Lydia means 'the beautiful one' and I'm sure it's a play on the fact that she's beyond disfigured, but--- she IS beautiful. The thing is, she does a marvelous job concealing it. Almost no one in the council, chapter, brotherhood knows the body Lydia hides under her dresses. They have also probably never seen her with her hair down.
About the colour scheme, as I said, she wears dark colours but does not like them. She actually favours pastels and white, she looooves wearing white.
make up:
When the elven-anathema.exe exploded, Lydia put on a masterful illusion that makes her face appear normal because trust me, it's a beyond hideous sight. It's not a pretty scar: we're talking about a face that's out of your most gruesome nightmare. You can see the teeth, muscle, tendons and her skull-- and mind you, it's not even a full skull, you can see the bones mended poorly and it's sunken. I mean it when I say the illusion is there so people don't faint at the sight.
Her huge lipstick collection becomes useless then, since she has no lips to paint. She does experiment with her illusion and when she wakes up, she will sit in front of a vanity and shift the colour of her made-up lips until she gets a shade she likes.

🐷 , 🦝 , 💀? :D
Oooo
🐷 - Is Technoblade a good anarchist?
Not in the beginning, depending on how you define good in this context. Was he an anarchist and pretty good at the anarchy part? Yeah solid passing C, was he an objectively good person while being an anarchist? Not really. Was he good at achieving his goals through anarchy? Also no. Now he’s a solid B+, though, I think.
🦝 - Do Crimeboys have a toxic Dynamic?
Yes. God yes. Jesus fucking Christ on a bike, yes. I fully believe they care deeply about each other, but Wilbur has a serious lack of respect for Tommy’s boundaries and feelings, though I don’t think most of it is because Wilbur doesn’t care about them, it’s because Wilbur is a fundamentally broken person at this point. The last stream made me want to put him in a blender and make someone else be Tommy’s older brother figure.
Irl crime boys are immaculate tho, I adore Tommy’s continued attempts at making Wilbur cry over being brothers because I am absolutely that kind of person as well
💀 - Doomsday... just... anything about Doomsday.
GOD OKAY I LOVE AND HATE DOOMSDAY
Like I love doomsday as a narrative. Dream being totally ruthless, Techno being the most merciful one there, Phil being somewhere between vengeance and pity. It’s amazing.
There’s several moments where Techno is like “if you just leave, I won’t hurt you” and I fully believe he meant it. I almost wish someone had taken him up on it and bailed. And he does it more than once too, he tries to get Ranboo to run, and there’s even more than a chance to get away when he tells Phil to start splashing invis on anyone he can. Just. I love that Techno is the only one of all of them orchestrating L’chunkerror who is willing to let people live. Also I love that Dream tells the two of them they can’t die - because if they do the battle will fail - while the defenders lost no canon lives.(except Jack to his wounds or something afterwards I think?)
Phil is proper pissed (in character) for about the first time in his lore, and he’s got so many pithy comments that I’m so proud of him for. “You’re selfish!” “AND YOURE NOT???” And “Since when was this a Philza Minecraft thing?” “Since i was forced to kill my own son, you IDIOT!” Phil is WRATH, fuck angel of death and sending a message and good intentions, Phil enjoyed paving the road to hell, even if Wil makes him feel bad about it after. And honestly? I love that for him. Phil’s lore is usually subtle and ad-lib, Phil’s in character bits are so rare, but he was On His Shit during doomsday and I loved it. His pov is a frequent comfort stream for me. My streamer <3 I’m so proud of him.
Edit: I also love Niki burning the tree. I’m love her so much. I adore that moment of her character even though I have very little scope of her actual lore. And techno congratulating her while having no idea what the tree was was very funny.
On the flipside it was a loss for the fandom because now I have to read the same five Phil and techno neg arguments for the rest of my time here. Nobody even bothers to mention the advanced interrogation techniques, no, my streamer is bad because he blew up a country that used to be run by the blorbos they like
Ty Medusa 💙 sorry I sent you so many 👀

C!Phil is a cool character, y’all are just mean
I feel like a lot of you don’t understand c!Phil and his motivations very well, so as a c!Phil enjoyer I’ll give you my thoughts.
A lot of you aren’t thinking about what this must be like from c!Phil’s perspective. He had absolutely know idea what was happening when he first joined the server, (hell, he didn’t even know who Schlatt was.) He didn’t know what L’manberg stood for, what people sacrificed for it, what it meant to them. Just that his son needed help and he was the only person who could provide that help.
He came to L'manberg to save his son, realized his son had been severely traumatized and mentally broken without him being able to do anything, was forced to kill his son which was deeply traumatizing, and then his son came back as a living reminder of what he did so he could never escape the pain he felt. He didn't understand the political ramifications of what Techno did, just that people were being awful to him and so he went to go support him because Techno was the person he knew the best out of everyone and he wanted to hang out with him and help him heal. I don’t think cc!Phil was aware if Tommy was his son or not in canon, so he had no reason to check up on him within the lore. Techno was his best friend and he wanted to make sure he was ok. He stated from the beginning that he wanted to be a neutral party and that he didn’t want to be in L’manberg, but no one listened to him.
Then, people wanted to hurt Techno and instead of selling out the closest person to him he had his house ransacked and his things stolen and was put under house arrest. Then he saw they kidnapped Techno and was forced to watch him get publicly executed right in front of him with no trial. He only saw injustice and hurt come from L'manberg from day one, so naturally he agreed with Techno and wanted to help out his friend (plus he wanted to blow stuff up because he's Phil.) He had no idea about the abuse Tommy suffered at the hands of Dream so he had no qualms helping him. He just knew that L'manberg was an unjust society that in his eyes only caused harm and that it should be gone. The bit with Ghostbur was a bit fucked, I’m not trying to say he’s perfect but I think that he has his reasoning. He just wanted to show everyone how fucked the society they created was because all he knew about it was that it was what killed his son and ruined his best friends life.
Another thing I feel like mentioning, I feel like a lot of people’s judgement of c!Phil has been completely clouded by fanon. The Fanon Phil we built up in our heads before November 16th was a very kind and loving father who’s completely family oriented and came to the smp to be everyone’s therapist and help them heal from their trauma. That’s not what happened, nor would it have ever happened. Cc!Phil isn’t really a roleplayer or an actor, he likes writing backstory and lore for his projects using environmental storytelling, (go watch his hardcore series please I’m begging you go do it.) Thus, while he likes being a part of the lore and has thought out character motivations, he primarily just wants to hang out with Techno and blow things up because that’s what’s fun for him and comes the most natural. Phil in all iterations is a man of chaos. Need I remind you that he completely annihilates and then rebuilds biomes for fun IN HARDCORE MODE. Plus, you’d know this if you watched smp earth, (smp earth gives a lot of insight into c!Phil because he was playing a more subtle version of the same character in that,) his chaos is heightened around Techno. In his words “being around Techno makes him see blood in the water.” They were called the Blood God and the Angel of Death for christ sake. We should have known from the start he would take any opportunity available to him to fuck shit up with Techno. From the beginning I was advocating for this because it’s fun to watch and it’s what Techno and Phil have fun doing together. He was never going to be what everyone wanted him to be, and by inadvertently  pushing him into that box people seemed to forget that he was a complex character who had motivations in his own right, not just in relation to others. People do this a lot in general, both cc!Phil and c!Phil are often only recognized by their roles in a group setting and not what they do on their own.
TL;DR: C!Phil is a very interesting and well thought out character and I think that he had reason to do what he did. Like all characters on the smp however, he is morally grey. Also, in general we should think of Phil as his own person and not primarily define him by his relationships
Also, please watch Phil’s hardcore series, it’s so fucking good. There’s cool lore, and it deserves more love from the fandom as it is its own cool thing, he puts so much love and care into it!

Tubbo lore my absolute beloved
His acting gets overlooked so often I genuinely believe he’s one of the best when he wants to be. My heart was BREAKING for him today’s stream. Since he hasn’t done lore in a while it’s a little harder to get a read on where his character is at but I’m providing my thoughts anyways
-first of all the SUIT. Man knew what he was doing picking that. The way it represents so many things, everything he had and everything he lost. Some of his best memories and some of the worst? He has so many emotions tied to that suit the same way he does with L’manberg. Him choosing it was a subtle thing I loved to see today.
-the parallels between him and Wilbur both starting by singing the anthem? Mhm I would love to see some people talk about that I’m sure there’s some really interesting stuff there if anyone sees or makes it please send it to me
-the way he’s finally standing up for himself! Like he forgives Wilbur but he doesn’t trust him. He talked about how he used to give away trust so easily and you can see he’s grown guarded, more closed off and forced to protect himself (especially with the nukes but that’s a whole other thing to unpack) I see so many c!Tommy defenders and not nearly enough c! Tubbo defenders. You guys are literally defending the same thing, just in different formats. Tubbo has had so much trauma for ages, especially since the schlatt administration and he’s basically been alone for all of it. After exile Tommy at least had Techno and Phil for a bit, but who did Tubbo have? Quackity? That would only serve to make things worse. And as much as I love his dynamic with ranboo, we all know they lie about most of their problems and refuse to be honest with each other
-how we got that GENUINE EMOTION today! The way you could hear his voice shaking, how he was clearly starting to cry again at the end? I love when he really tries to act, I’m always reminded how good he is
-mhm don’t you worry I am going to talk about that Tubbo and Ranboo conversation at the end and how it ties back to my previous point. You can tell Ranboo knew Tubbo wasn’t ok. I mean it was CLEAR. The way he used the soft tone and the hushed voices. And despite being a wreck, Tubbo pushes him away again. Like Wilbur, he struggles to be open about ANY of his emotions, hiding them, pushing them down to not let people know the true impact. (If we wanted to tie this back to the prison lore stream after tommy dies and how dismissive Tubbo was of that just to be fun and angsty we totally could. Not letting people know who’s important or what’s important, making sure no one has any power over him? Tommy was so clearly his one weakness for so long, so if he acts dismissive when he dies then he seems to have none. I’m aware this was not the intention but I like to be fun and angsty <3 ) ANYWAYS. Watching Tubbo push him away as Wilbur calls him? Yeah, tell me that didn’t feel like him being left all over again. This is not the first time someone close to him (cough cough, Tommy) has been gone with Wilbur and left him alone. He can already see it happening, so he pushes Ranboo away before he gets close, before he can show that weakness again. I’m sure he probably resents Wilbur a bit for “taking ranboo” away from him too.
-TUBBO_ THANK YOU FOR GIVING US MORE ANGST. Canonizing nightmares of his execution and of the 16th?? Oh I am SO excited to see the art and animatics that come from that. I love how it addresses the fact Tubbo went through a serious amount of trauma and really should have problems from it. Like yes let’s address that we don’t just leave that untouched.
Anyways Tubbo’s character is incredibly interesting and deserves more hype like there’s so much going on there. Even if it isn’t super lore heavy the POSSIBILITIES just given the small bits of angst we get? The growth is very interesting to watch and I find it fascinating to see how people respond differently to Tubbo, tommy and Wilbur reacting to their mental health.
Hot take! /s. None of them are villains. All of them made bad choices because of their mental problems and trauma, and all of them are struggling and don’t want to be stuck like this. If you’re an apologist for one of the three of them but not the others than like. I’m curious why /gen. It’s very similar situations, they just react to situations differently. I don’t know I just find it interesting how people can be so supportive of one and hate the other so much. They all made mistakes and no one is asking you to forgive them. Just keep it in mind when referring to their characters and their actions.
Mhm that’s all tangent over for now :)

Dsmp Hogwarts AU, except it’s all the characters and I go into why they are what they are, please reblog this took a long ass time
Man, what a title Huh? Anyways, this will obviously go over the characters and not the content creators, because in some cases those are vastly different
Also, before we start, I will go over an important thing that I will mention probably a few times, and that is the difference between Hufflepuff Loyalty and Slytherin Loyalty.
Both of these houses value loyalty, but in very different ways. Take for example that you’re a spy who has their best friend as their partner, and you’re out on some super important mission. Let’s also say that your partner got shot and is close to death, and the only way to save them would be to abandon the mission entirely.
A Hufflepuff would try to complete the mission because it would be the best for all, while the Slytherin would abandon the mission despite the fact that it could result in countless deaths, just to save their friend.
See it as Selfish Loyalty vs Selfless loyalty. Both are great things to have, but are still different.
Anyways, on with the show
Tomathy Danger Kraken Careful Innit
I have seen people try to argue that this boy is a Hufflepuff because of his loyalty and such, but gosh darnit everyone this child is a god damn Gryffindor. I mean, one of his main character traits is that he’s brash and too brave for his own good. The reason he got fucking exiled is because he burned down George’s house without thinking of the consequences, and then just screamed at Dream without thinking of the consequences. The same goes for Ghostbur’s “death”, it was because he had no real plan except Stab Dream with an axe. So yeah, Gryffindor
Wilbur Soot
Slytherin, 100%. This man has created one and a half nation, one entirely out of spite, he was both a general and a president, he’s a smart lil fella, and he managed to hold his own against the god of the server. I don’t even thing you guys wanna argue with me here
Tuberculosis Underscore
This one is tricky, because it’s really between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw for me. Like, he does possess the Hufflepuff loyalty™ plus he is very kind, but he’s also one of the more logical and observant characters we have in this server (The bar is very low let me tell ya). But I think I will have to go with Ravenclaw, just because like, the boy invented nukes. He built fucking nukes. So yeah, a very chaotic Ravenclaw that will spout bee facts at you, be prepared
Technoblade
My man is a Ravenclaw, no doubt about it. I mean, he started talking about an old greek myth in the middle of a war? Just Ravenclaw things amiright?
Philza Minecraft
I will have to go with Slytherin on this one, simply because of the large amount of Slytherin Loyalty, but also because of his cunningness and resourcefulness, but for real this was very tricky, simply because I don’t like to think about c!Phil too much because as some of you may know, I kinda hate him (Not the cc though, obvs, he’s awesome)
Ranboo My Beloved
Hufflepuff. This boy’s ideology is literally “Choose people, not sides”, he’s an honest and compassionate boy who works hard, and has a very open mind. He’s literally the by the book Hufflepuff
Eret
Honestly, Slytherin. I mean, they are ambitious as fuck, both shown by them betraying L’Manburg for the throne, but also by working hard towards their redemption arc. They are also a good leader of the smp, and in general a great role model to have
Nikki Nihachu
This one is actually difficult, simply because Nikki has gone through quite the character arc the past couple of months. She started out kind, sweet and loyal, a classic Hufflepuff. Then she joined the syndicate and straight up tried to kill a child, which is less Hufflepuff but who am I to judge. But in her core, as seen through her discussion with Jack about Tommy’s revival, she is still a good person that works hard for what she believes in, wants the best for everyone (Despite sometimes working in her best self interest) remains kind through it all. So yeah, Nikki is a Hufflepuff, just a bit of a sadistic one. But we can’t all be perfect ya know?
Fun Jonathan Michael Vincent Georgina James Sus Dy Soot
Ah, my favorite character, and also one of the best examples of a Ravenclaw. And I ain’t saying that just cuz I’m a Ravenclaw, Fundy is one of the most Ravenclaw characters out there. He’s creative, Clever, Spontaneous, Witty, Curious, Sharp, and a real trickster. The idea of Ravenclaws being the goody two shoes kids that always does their school work is just false, we never do our Homework and instead sit and read about things we find interesting, and Fundy is a good example of that. Also he was quite the eager learner during the Dreamon Hunters arc, which again is a good example of a Ravenclaw. So if Ranboo is the by the book Hufflepuff, then Fundy is the by the book Ravenclaw.
Dreamwastaken
I’m pretty sure it’s confirmed that Dream is actually a Slytherin, and I ain’t arguing with that. This boy is cunning, sly, a leader, traditional, Self-Preserving, and a master with words. There is not much more to say here, apart from the fact that Slytherins main colour is literally green, so it all checks out, this boy is a snake.
George Lore
Mr not found over here really is hard to pinpoint down, simply because his main character trait is his apathy, which isn’t really a trait for any of the houses. I was discussing this one with my girlfriend, and both of us were pretty clueless of what to do with him. I was thinking if Hufflepuff since they take the ones that don’t fit anywhere else, but then I was reminded of the most recent Dream XD stream, which showed us one thing, and that is that George is clever, observant, and Sharp Minded, all the traits of a Ravenclaw. Sure, he could also be Slytherin as he was both cunning and sly as well, but I think Ravenclaw fits him more personally.
Sappitus Nappitus Boyhalo
Finally we have another Gryffindor, there’s been a serious lack of them on the list. My man is a fighter, he’s bold, he’s brave, he’s passionate, he’s confident, and he doesn’t really think that much of the consequences of his actions (Cough the pet war cough), so yeah this boy a lion.
Punz
Ah, Punzie, the mercenary themself. Tbh, I know very little about them because Punz don’t get involved that much in lore unless they are hired for something. I mean, they were in the eggpire, but even then they were barely involved, which is sad cuz I like Punz. But what we have seen of Punz is that they are someone who does not care about you or what you want, as long as you pay them. They are power hungry and self preserving, which means that I have to put them in Slytherin.
Jack Thunder1408 TV Manifold
The boy who I can’t help but be sympathetic towards. Jack is also a hard character to pin point because of the reason that he’s gone through quite the development. Jackie boy is a very broken character that has literally been through hell, so it’s hard to properly sort him. He’s quite confident and clever, yet cunning and resourceful, so for me it’s either Slytherin or Gryffindor. But I do lean towards Gryffindor more, partly because of his stubbornness and gullibility, and part because of all the fire imagery that’s associated with him. I mean, the cc described him as burning inside, he’s been through the scape of fire and death, and he burnt his nation to the ground. In case you didn’t know, Fire is the element of Gryffindor, so yeah, another red and gold boy.
JSchlatt
Schlatt is as both charming, charismatic and calm in the early days, using subtle manipulation tactics to get his way and achieve ultimate power. He’s ambitious, narcissistic, cunning, and tyrannical, while still hiding it all behind a facade of smiles and waves. He could also be both cruel and irresponsible at times, aka the time he had an underage child drink during an event, but ya know, mistakes. So all in all, I think it’s pretty clear that he’s a Snakey boy.
QuackityHQ
As much as I love CC!Quackity, I also fucking hate him because of the many, many different directions he’s taken this character which makes it possible for him to fit in literally any of the houses. The duckie is both Chaotic and lawful, he’s both friendly and hostile, he’s a smart cookie and a fucking dumbass, so like bruh. But, I’m gonna have to go with how he is now, which is manipulative, power hungry, cruel, and strong willed. Aka, another Slytherin.
Karl Jacobs
Finally, a character that is not broken down to the point of barely making out a readable personality. Karl is a kind and funny person, who is very open to new people considering how often he gives tours to visitors and new people, and he is quite literally loosing himself traveling through time in an attempt to help people. Hufflepuff
Awesamdude
This one I know will be controversial, but I’m saying Hufflepuff on him. Sam is one of the best cases of the Hufflepuff loyalty, literally letting both Tommy and Ghostbur be stuck and ultimately die in the prison just so he wouldn’t risk Dream breaking out. Before that point he was very kind and gentle towards Tommy, literally building a robot to keep him safe and take care of him. Sam nook is a reflection of Sam’s feelings towards Tommy, and they are kind and gentle.
Dropsbyponk
Ughhhh, another tough one. Ponk is a chaotic being who is mostly neutral in conflicts, but is shown to be very open about their feelings towards those they care about, like Sam or Foolish. They seem to be have strong feelings in what they believe in, and can be a bit brash sometimes, not really caring about the consequences of their actions, which is what makes me say Gryffindor for them.
Badboyhalo
Our favorite muffin demon. I assume, I don’t know what life you live. Anyways, Bad is like the stereotypical Hufflepuff. The kindhearted, well meaning, sweet, responsible Hufflepuff. The Hufflepuff that’s like in all of those incorrect quotes blogs and “Slytherin and Hufflepuff friendships uwu” posts. But for real, Bad is very Hufflepuff. He does however have Slytherin Loyalty, considering he pretty much sacrificed the entire server for Skeppy, but if you would try to convince me that Bad is a Slytherin I will just laugh at you
Skeppy
It was at this point I realized what I’ve gotten myself into with this post, which you know, not fun. Skeppy is both cocky and filled with energy, with a real ambition to cause chaos. He’s also shown to be willing to sacrifice himself for the person he loves, Bad, when he gave himself up to the egg. I’ve seen some people say Slytherin, but I’m kinda getting Gryffindor from the lad, so yeah, another lion.
Antfrost
Frosty here is a kind hearted person that for the most part seem to be along for the ride. He reminds me a bit of a parent of toddlers, with his patience and serenity towards the more chaotic people on the server, so of course my natural instinct is Hufflepuff. Buuuuut, then there’s again the issue with the egg and the Slytherin loyalty, this time towards his boyfriend Velvet who he was willing to join a cult for (relationship goals) but again, you can’t really say Ant is a Slytherin considering how wrecked he was about what he did while in the eggpire when he was released from it’s grasp. So yeah, Puffle boy
Captain Puffy
Oh captain my captain, you are such a Gryffindor. And some of you may disagree on that, stating that she’s a Hufflepuff or something (I did research before this to check what other people think, I know) but naaah, she a lion. Puffy is very motherly and protective towards other people on the server, especially the minors, but in the way that a Bear is protective towards its cub, which is gentle towards them but fierce towards others. Puffy also falls natural in the role of a leader as seen with Pro-Omelette, but that is kinda expected since she’s a past Pirate Captain. But she wasn’t the leader she was supposed to be, as she waited quite a while to act against the eggpire out of fear of hurting her friends, which lead to quite the damage towards the rest of the server. She’s also been shown to act on impulse, killing Antfrost and taking one of his lives after he killed her son. Idk if this is a good explanation of why I believe Puffy to be a Gryffindor, it sounds more like I’m claiming her to be a Slytherin or Hufflepuff, but she is a Gryffindor I promise!
Foolish Gamers
Foolish is a kind and friendly being, if not a bit naive and easily distracted. He’s also not the brightest person, in fact I’d go as far as to call the guy a Himbo, and he can be a bit skittish sometimes if he’s stressed or haven’t taken a break in a while. But despite it all, the guy is someone who’s creative and hard working, with a brilliant mind for his building. The man is an artist who can get grumpy if you suppress his creative aura, and put his heart and soul into his works. He also has a habit of getting wrapped up in big projects, and ignoring sleep or personal care until he’s finished them. This all leads me to say that Mr Gamers is a Ravenclaw, just not the smartest one. But hey, we can’t all be geniuses, can we.
Slimecicle
Slime is very naive and very trusting towards people around him, taking every word they say as a fact. He can also be a bit dark and ominous at times, but quickly shakes it off as nothing important. This all makes him quite childish, which is very hard to sort, so I’m gonna say Hufflepuff for his friendliness and move on.
Purpled Bedwars
I actually started loving this guy the minute I saw him, purely because Purple is my favorite colour, like my man has taste. Purpled, like Punz, is a guy who helps whoever pays him the most. He’s not interested in most things on the server, too busy looking out for number one (And Dogchamp of course). He’s very self reliant and resourceful, but still quite passive. He may not be the most ambitious guy, but Purpled is definitely a Slytherin (It also brings me and my girlfriend Serotonin knowing that the mercenary siblings are both in the same house, we love those two)
Hannahxxrose
I don’t watch Hannah that much, but god I love her voice, it makes my lesbian little heart happy. Hannah is a friendly person who is very naive about the conflicts on the server, thinking it all can can be solved by placing a rose (God I wish). She’s a good decorator and a good hearted person, who unfortunately fell victim to the egg’s influence. I’m going with Hufflepuff on her, but I’m honestly not entirely sure as I don’t know that much about her.
HBomb94
H is a very well meaning person that only really wants people to be friendly towards each other. He had a strict moral code and he keeps to it, as shown where Fundy tried to get his help with blowing shit up. He’s very helpful to those who ask and is willing to back up his friends when it’s needed, which makes me say that the friendly totally not dirty cat maid is a Hufflepuff.
Connoreatspants
I just want you all to know that I’m writing this before Connor’s lore stream that surely will just go against everything I say because fate hates me, just so ya know. Connor is not a person that does stuff on the server with lore and he for the most part keeps to himself, so this is a bit hard. Connor also has this thing where he likes to say things just to confuse him, and also making a bit of cursed lore, but he’s still a fairly humble person. He does lie and steal a bit, and has this habit of moving into other people’s houses, but I digress. I’m actually leaning towards Ravenclaw on him, for some reason, so that’s what I’m going with until I have more of an established character.
ItsAlyssa
I know she has left the server and stuff, but she was one of the original members so it would be a crime not to include her. Alyssa is a bit chaotic, often going on killing sprees, or burning down the trees outside of L’Manburg. So I’m placing Alyssa in Gryffindor, but to be honest I don’t really know at this point.
Callahan
How do you sort a person who does not speak, stream, or show like anything of his personality? The answer is, you don’t. Hufflepuff is the house of those who don’t fit in anywhere else, and that’s where I’m placing him.
Vikkstar123
Please log onto the server I’m begging you, I didn’t watch you as a kid and honestly know nothing about you. From what I’ve seen of Vik he’s a very humble person that tries to stay out of it all, instead forming a land together with his bro Lazar. Honestly my instincts say Ravenclaw and I trust my instincts, so I’m putting him in Ravenclaw
Lazarbeam
Lazar was actually a big part of the exile arc which I realized after already have written his, so now I gotta rewrite it. Lazar is fairly ambitious on the server, and has the goal to obtain the most powerful objects on the server just to rival the other strong members of the smp. He’s especially against Tommy, and aims to do a lot to be the opposite of him, aka well respected and not a war criminal that got exiled (Totally fair goal). Despite that, he was able to show some empathy to the British child, even going as far as to give him a disk during his exile. This all makes me say Slytherin on him.
Michaelmcchill
Newest boy. Michael is a very apathetic person, showing little to no empathy towards most people’s trauma on the server. The person he does feel empathy for however is Dream, who of course did nothing wrong and is locked up in the prison which is just horrible oh no. Michael just truly does not care about what you’ve been through (as of now) which is why I’m gonna say Slytherin, because he does have Slytherin loyalty towards Mr Was Taken.
TL;DR
Tommy-Lion
Wilbur-Snake
Tubbo-Eagle
Techno-Eagle
Philza-Snake
Ranboo-Badger
Eret-Snake
Nikki-Badger
Fundy-Eagle
Dream-Snake
George-Eagle
Sapnap-Lion
Punz-Snake
Jack-Lion
Schlatt-Snake
Quackity-Snake
Karl-Badger
Sam-Badger
Ponk-Lion
Bad-Badger
Skeppy-Lion
Antfrost-Badger
Puffy-Lion
Foolish-Eagle
Slime-Badger
Purpled-Snake
Hannah-Badger

discussing phil’s perspective & his genuine compassion for fundy
word count: approximately 1.3k
this is going to be very all over the place, but there are some things i wanted to discuss about the new lore drop from phil and fundy.
for a long time, there were many fundy enthusiasts, including myself, who did not understand phil’s resentment towards fundy and the rest of new l’manberg. sure, we understood that he probably hated them because of the butcher army fiasco, but there was always something more, especially with how phil felt incredibly disconnected with the rest of nlm at the beginning of season two.
we thought it didn’t make sense, but that new piece of information from the most recent lore stream just. makes EVERYTHING make sense. if i had the time, i’d dig into more on how perspective matters in the dream smp, and how every action, no matter how crazy or nonsensical it may seem, would always have a reason.
but again, i have no time for that, and i know other people have already made essays for that, so let me focus on how wilbur’s letters to phil gave us a reason as to why phil acted like an asshole at certain times. because for the longest time, we thought that phil was being unnecessarily harsh on tubbo and fundy, but after this, it made sense!
wilbur painted a picture in phil’s head that l’manberg was beautiful. it was infallible. it was grace, it was hope, it was overall perfect. this piece of information is crucial as to why phil resented tubbo, fundy, and quackity. wilbur told phil that l’manberg was developing, and of COURSE phil would also think that tubbo, fundy, and quackity would be grateful for l’manberg! with the image wilbur made, phil would automatically think the other three would be grateful for everything l’manberg and wilbur has provided them.
so when phil sees these three as withdrawn or violent or overly defensive that they’d looked down upon techno, dream, and wilbur, of COURSE phil would think they were ungrateful little bastards. because in phil’s head, he thinks that “why would these three act so violent when they had such a great life before nlm?”. phil thinks that they aren’t traumatized, that they haven’t been exposed to violence, so to phil, HE thinks that THEY are the ones being nonsensical.
the only thing he believes that the three have suffered is witnessing wilbur’s death, which is also the only other thing phil suffered! phil’s problems root a lot from wilbur’s death, but with the perfect image of l’manberg in his head, he also thinks that the other three’s issues only stem from wilbur’s death as well. so when phil finally moves on, when phil finally finishes grieving but then sees that the other three are still defensive and on guard? of course phil would think that they are ungrateful shitheads! this doesn’t excuse phil’s actions of course, but now, we finally realize WHY he did the things he did. WHY he was so rude towards fundy and tubbo ESPECIALLY.
it’s all just miscommunication! phil thought that nlm was being awful because phil thought there would be no reason to be ungrateful, but nlm thought phil was the one being ungrateful because he never acknowledged that the three HAVE been through traumatizing events in the past. it’s all a misunderstanding gone awry.
now, with that point out of the way, i want to discuss one more thing: phil’s apology to fundy. i’ve seen two takes about the way phil interacted with fundy that i don’t necessarily agree with: 1.) phil’s apology to fundy was awful because he never outright said “sorry”, and 2.) phil never really intended to reconnect with fundy, only viewing him as a tool to help him find wilbur.
these two takes are not something i necessarily agree with, so i’m here to expound my thoughts on that.
on the first point, why do we need phil to verbally tell fundy he’s sorry? i know that sometimes, people would still think highly of themselves that they would refuse to say “sorry” outright, but i think that, for fundy, it doesn’t really matter.
fundy is extremely alone. point blank. if you’ve watched fundy’s perspective from the beginning of the election arc up until now, he has always loathed wilbur because he left him alone. that was always the main point: that fundy was alone, that fundy has no one, or that wilbur was just always absent.
companionship and just the presence of someone caring for fundy already means SO MUCH for fundy. fundy complains and cries about loneliness, and what did phil do in the entire stream? he stuck to fundy. he listened. fundy has talked about how he felt like people weren’t listening, that when he needed others the most, they would leave. but what did phil do? after fundy confessed his dreams, after fundy confessed the truth about the election, after fundy cried and shouted at phil- phil remained. he stayed. he listened, he didn’t berate fundy, and most importantly, he stayed.
and while phil still didn’t say he was sorry, sometimes those little, subtle actions could be enough. maybe it would even be seen as something more powerful than a “sorry”.
and also! phil not saying sorry could direct back to my main point: he didn’t know the gravity of fundy’s situation. because fundy tells him that wilbur left him alone, but in phil’s perspective, he thinks that fundy’s only talking about wilbur’s last canon death. phil doesn’t think that fundy’s hurt originates from events WAY BEFORE THAT. so, it’d make sense why phil didn’t apologize in the most proper way he can. he just didn’t realize how much deeper fundy’s issues are.
and again, it doesn’t mean phil is a 100% good person and everything he did was excused! i just mean that every action has a reason behind it. and even THEN, phil still acted so kindly towards fundy.
AND THAT PROCEEDS TO THE NEXT POINT: did phil only call fundy just because of wilbur’s revival, and not because he cared for him? well, NO. why can’t we have both? why couldn’t have phil called fundy for wilbur’s revival AND genuinely care about him at the same time?
because the thing is, the fact that phil called fundy because he thought fundy had the right to know IS PHIL GENUINELY BEING CARING TOWARDS FUNDY. phil knows what wilbur meant to fundy, because wilbur means a lot to phil as well. if phil truly, truly hated fundy, he wouldn’t even call fundy in the first place. and when fundy arrived, phil didn’t eyeroll at him, or interrupt his rants, or do anything awful. he was calm, kind and lighthearted- phil didn’t feel like he was forced to call fundy at all.
phil called fundy about wilbur because he has a genuine care FOR fundy. i think this was especially seen at the end when phil was telling him to prepare mentally. when phil told fundy to not lose himself. would that sound like a man who ONLY CARED ABOUT WILBUR? NO! OF COURSE NOT! phil seemed like he genuinely CARED about fundy’s wellbeing, and he didn’t want him to destroy himself!
sure, this meeting would have only happened if wilbur was revived, but it doesn’t change the fact that in this meeting, phil still showed that he had genuine compassion for fundy. he can be concerned about wilbur’s resurrection WHILE ALSO CARING FOR FUNDY, it isn’t a this or that situation.
(ps. also, other note to add: if you still continue villainizing phil for being x and y, it erases the importance of that one scene where he revealed that he’s been heavily lied to by wilbur.)
tldr; perspective is very important when we want to make sense of actions done by characters in the dream smp. it doesn’t excuse any character’s actions if they did something wrong, but it gives us an insight of why characters do these things. additionally, phil genuinely cares about fundy. he may not outright say “sorry”, or he might’ve only called fundy because of wilbur’s revival, but phil showed that he DOES care about fundy nonetheless.

I saw your tags to the one reblog and I actually already know partially the answer as to why Dream and Tommy's characters are so coordinated- one time on stream Tommy talked about how him and Dream have a scheduled vc (voice call) once a week where although they do talk about other video ideas, when they have planned lore (like during exile arch) all they'll talk about is lore and they're plans for it :)
Still that's. Like. I get the LORE aspect.
I just don't get the like... Themes and shit?
Like. We were all convinced that those two must've done good research on abuse. And I don't mean on the textbook version of it but like genuinely day to day stuff because. Like. That was a 16 year old and a young adult roleplaying in Minecraft portraying an abusive dynamic in a way that's both extreme enough when it needs to be to make it obvious what's happening but also "subtle" enough most of the time that it doesn't read like a fanfic. And it appears natural.
The way the absolutely distressing scenes blend over into them just hanging out like normal just as they would've done pre lmanberg. The small distressing spikes that are still scattered within the down time.
The way every day gets worse and Tommy gets more resigned and less defiant without it just feeling like a dude who's looking at a checklist and checking off single points one after the other
Like yeah, it's not completely perfect but it's so much more natural than any other portrayal in other media I've seen before that the few things that don't feel very smooth, I just ignore them.
Anyways. Apparently that shit was just... Freestyle? Like. Correct me if I'm wrong but just a few weeks or months ago a decently big topic here was that they apparently didn't even do research on exile.
But also shit like... During the manhunt after the prison break. They played more into like. Childishness. Right? Like. Dream was more condescending, the stuff he said about crying and stuff and Tommy on his side also acting a bit more childish, making the metaphor about a cafeteria bully which is. Yknow. Child environment and stuff. More insistence on "this isn't fair" and stuff like that.
Did they just talk and were like "yeah. Let's. Let's make this whole thing a bit more childish. To highlight how ctommys a minor and not an adult and how that makes dreams joy of making him suffer and distressing him just even more fucked up" or was it just "ye I'm gonna wait in logsted and then I'll reveal myself and chase you towards Phil" "sounds dope"
Like. I wanna know to what extend they talk about that stuff. To what extend they're aware of things like themes with their characters. What are pointers they make sure to talk about. What's genuinely absolutely just improvising and thus just their natural feel for the scene.
I WANNA KNOW
I WANNA HEAR THOSE FUCKERS TALK ABOUT THE MAKING OF SCENES LIKE THAT
I WANNA HEAR ABOUT THEIR THOUGHTPROCESSES
I wanna hear dream try to defend the staged discwar finale plot twist.

Why It’s Hard To Understand c!Technoblade
Note: These are my own thoughts and beliefs. This isn’t meant to be hate or critical at all, but rather trying to figure out why Technoblade’s actions are harder for some people to understand. I’m always open to friendly discussion, as some people might have noticed things that I haven’t!
After completion note: This could be slightly hard to read due to my jumbled thoughts, and the sudden realization I had while working on this, but I tried to explain everything as best as I could! This is now not even c!Technoblade critical, but rather Minecraft critical /j
A quick lookover at the cast of the Dream SMP will definitely show how many unique characters there are within the story, and that’s only based on appearances. Diving deeper into each of them, they all have their own morals, backstories, and relationships that drive what they do.
There’s another factor that makes each of them unique too, and that’s how they tell their stories. Some are more reactionary, while others take time to work out their own feelings and thoughts. Imagine it as a scale:
Tumblr media
While some characters are more introspective and express their feelings and motivations more through words (ex. Ranboo, Ghostbur), other characters share their own morals through their actions, be them extreme or subtle (ex. Sapnap, Dream). Of course, those aren’t the only two options, with the storytelling being a sliding line where there is a middle ground for some characters to display their own feelings through a combination of words and actions (ex. Jack and Tommy).
Tumblr media
Now, this isn’t saying that Ranboo can’t act on his morals, or that Dream can’t use his words (we’ve all seen them do both very well). It’s more so a representation of the storytelling they’re most common with. All the ones who use words to express their feelings have backed it up with actions, and the ones who’ve acted on their thoughts have shared reflections on it with words. One way of storytelling is not better than the other, and it’s rather good to have multiple ways of seeing how characters react to situations through their common/preferred method of expression.
However, when it comes to Technoblade, he exists on the scale in a very weird way.
Tumblr media
While he can appear on the scale, he doesn’t exactly fit within the similar boundaries of other characters. He acts, but rarely backs it up with almost any words. When he does use words, while they make sense, there’s too little to connect them to the full extent of what he does.
There’s another character who’s also in the same spot as Techno on the scale: Phil, who does tend to act in the same way Techno does, also having the same explaining gap as Techno.
So why do I understand Phil’s reasoning more than Techno?
It’s because of something else outside of words and actions, just rather character explanation. It’s an overlying trait.
Phil’s overlying trait is that he’s centuries old and has seen loved ones die. With this knowledge, it’s much easier to come to an understanding of where Phil’s own thoughts lie and why he acts the way he does. Of course this trait isn’t applicable to all his actions, but it allows us to bridge gaps between his disconnected actions and come to an understanding of why he might believe in specific ideals and morals.
Overlying traits can change though, Ranboo being an example of this. At the beginning, his trait was memory issues, which caused his feelings to be affected by his condition, and seek out those who he remembered to be good. It’s why he had the memory books, and why they were used to bridge parts of his own thinking and actions. Currently, his overlying trait has shifted to wanting peace. It’s through this why he takes his alliances and friends into consideration when making decisions, because all he wants in the end is the best result for everybody to benefit from.
Techno doesn’t appear to have a current overlying trait that originated from anywhere. “Destroy the government” could possibly be seen as this, but it’s more of an overlying statement than an overlying trait, something that’s rooted in mostly words rather than in a fact. “I’m a person too” could also be it, but that thought is rarely covered, with Techno currently leaning towards a more militaristic and authoritarian mindset.
At this point, there doesn’t seem to be a clear overlying trait for Techno’s character that connects his actions together. Techno rarely goes into his own mindset, rather acting upon what he believes in the moment without exploring it in a coherent way. With characters like him who don’t use their words for solid explanation, visuals are especially important to convey how a character is feeling outside of said words, which Techno tends to do.
Now, this isn’t Techno’s fault in being unable to convey his specific emotions to his audience. IRL limitations are in the way of that, such as cc!Techno streaming very infrequently. With cc!Ranboo, he streams every day, so there’s time for him to introspect and to do what he wants to do in terms of lore. Minecraft is also extremely limited in specific emotions of players, which is why crouching is the closest thing to conveying fear or playfulness, and the arm motion is used for waving or expressing anger.
For c!Techno, facial expressions would be the most useful tool in explaining his internal thoughts, but he can’t show them like how he could in animation or live-action. As seen in the content created by the fans, famous Technoblade scenes will have a wide variety of facial expressions, since that would be the visual focus of his character.
I believe the reason it’s so hard for people for understand Techno as well as they could, is because he doesn’t express his feelings through words or actions, but rather a third category: his expressions, which we are unable to see due to the limitations of the game.
Actions don’t always equal true feelings, and while words are important, they can be inconsistent with how one expresses them.
So while this is the more linear form that we can expect:
Tumblr media
In reality, it’s actually more like this:
Tumblr media
And with the third category, the previous linear form is rather inaccurate within itself. Yes, this makes things more complicated in terms of working out how each character can portray their own morals and ideals.
Tumblr media
But isn’t that what Dream SMP is about? Absolute insanity wrapped in different perspectives that might not be as clear as they seem?
TLDR: Technoblade is hard for me (and possibly many others) to understand due to the most important factor of his storytelling, facial expressions, being limited to nonexistent within the game Dream SMP is set in.
(Thank you so much for reading this if you got this far! I really appreciate it!)

HI!!!!! I have been tagged™™™™ by @gheysnakelady and so here are my Hot Opinions!! :D
who is your favourite member on the smp?
I mean, i have SEVERAL faves: awesamdude, eret, wilbur (rip), techno and phil - I’ll watch sometimes, tubbo and tommy, but if you’re going by who I watch th
when did you first start watching the smp and what made you get into it?
Oh, it was thanks to the sudden influx of dream smp animatics all over my youtube home page - and tbh, they were all pretty good! and so, i was like: ???!!! and started watching and now i religiously check the dsmp tag for plot updates so i guess that’s where we’re at rn… haha…
what is your favourite part about watching the smp?
Just watching these creators make these amazing stories+narrative - it’s free tv! i am entertained! even just watching them interact, this large community of a variety of streamers/youtubers, in the most diverse topics (not all of them are really minecraft-centered, but they are all great!). The idea of showcasing underrated creators in a platform where they all have the opporunity to shine, is just a wholesome idea tbh
what piece of cursed lore is your favourite?
…………. the toe………….
who is your favourite duo on the smp?
Miss the ol’ tubbo n tommy dynamic! But i do enjoy techno and ranboo - they’re hilarious, too.
… Niki and Jack give me Stress… i try to think about them like: team rocket! it works! almost! i try not to think about them murdering children on purpose and more like a little evil duo who cause problems and miss. please-
who are your comfort streamers?
I like to watch awesamdude (he’s great!!! <3) bbh and tubbo, when I want some nice times where I might play minecraft myself... or just relax
who is your favourite character?
mexican dream, no sweat. tubbo and tommy tie for second second place, and back when elections were a thing, so was Big Q (he still is! he says the most brutal things these days but also ,,,, stream me dude pleas-).
who do you think is the best actor (s) on the smp?
A LOT OF PEOPLE OKAY LET ME ELABORATE ON A FEW:
- schlatt. evil president. wilbur. chekov’s gun but tragic. do i need to say more.
- bad is actually really good! and terrifying! surprisingly! because he’s.,,. he’s supposed to be one of my comfort streamers.... you should check out his eggpire!!! egg for the egg god
- tommy is good at subtleties, for someone who isn’t very... subtle... yknow? I was surprised by the AMOUNT of detail that went into the exile arc - and he played it adequately
who on the smp would you like to be best friends with?
ajgLJHGdljhagjJHGJHLGDS you can’t ask me that!!! they all seem like cool people and id like to meet them but also i am a mess so hhhhh
what are your favourite quotes said on the smp?
i have a lot here too but here are just some that I can think of rn haha:
connor’s whole: “you’re not a bad person, and I hope you find what you’re looking for” had me BAWLING aaa
tommy’s dialogue with dream during their battle was good, but when
a) tommy asks tubbo: “but what am I with out you?” and tubbo responds: “yourself.” I CRIED AAAA
b) tommy said: “Hey Dream, Dream, kill me.” because he knew dream wouldn’t, because he knew why dream wouldn’t - CHILLS
which part of the smp made you feel the saddest?
- ... pogtopia...
- Wilbur/ghostbur (out of character? in character? i don’t know which’d be worse, actually) admitting that he only wanted to make tommy president so he could blow it up seconds later
- .... tommy’s exile....
- A lot of tommy’s interactions with Techno have me kinda... :( ... you know? Like, the pit, the manberg vs. pogtopia war, doomsday - it feels like they keep shouting the same lines at each other, but neither of them really hear nor understand what the other is saying. Expecially doomsday - techno siding with dream, predictable but also hurtful, kind of. I can see why - but also techno was the closest to learning what had happened over the exile, and yet, the farthest from understanding it.
- doomsday was equally frustrating, hopeless, and depressing tbh
which part of the smp made you feel the happiest?
A LOT OF THINGS: but here are just the ones on the top of my head
- Quackity killing Schlatt and leaving manberg like: ✌️😠✌️
- When Tommy finally realized that dream was just. manipulating him. YOU GO funky exile child, LEAVE!!!
- PUNZ coming in to save the day with: “you should’ve paid me more”???? YES YES YES
- Sam giving tommy little tasks to build the hotel?? wholesome. Acknowledging tommy’s been through a lot, abnd being one of the few people to know most of the exile story that tommy still won’t tell anyone about outright? 😭 (and i am looking AWAY from the possibility that this is just for profit, nonononono, not in MY line of sight-)
be honest, who do you simp for? (ayo if anyone says tommy or tubbo i will 🔪)
....schlatt (who ironically, was somewhat my introduction into the smp), but only cause he was a TERRIFYINGLY good actor, and he sounds EXACTLY like what id imagine an evil president would sound like 😳 what can i say, i like my voices...? jkashdlhfgal closest ill get to simping anyway so all of you can just take this and go, go elsewhere-
what’s your favorite stream?
Hmm... one of the chaos ones? kjahdlkg i can’t decide...
what’s your least favorite stream?
The butcher army stream. I mean, it was good I loved the dialogue and set up... but like... story-wise, butcher army didn’t accomplish anything in the end, their existence was as volatile as the person they hunted and tbh nothing was gained from it, just lost and made worse. Hot opinion though, so take it with caution.
what’s something about the smp fandom that makes you sad?
Hmm... A somewhat common point: sometimes people can be really critical about characters, but like, not in a good way - just straight up bashing. I get disliking a character but it makes me :( when i don’t see reason for it. Or bashing someone’s opinion of a character. Look, we’re all interpreters here, but like.... cmon.... someone might just have a different view of a character and that’s fine!
for example: not a big fan of c!phil as a father. Some interpretations say he’s not a father because phil never said he was. Some might say he was an okay dad, and some might say tommy was never his son. all of these opinions are valid. another one of my opinions: tommy’s “punishments” were injust, some might agree with the idea that they were blown out of proportion and he didn’t really learn anything from them, some might disagree and say he got what he deserved. all of these opinions are valid -but on my end, maybe not the ones where people go: “aww man, c!tommy should’ve died cause he’s so annoying, and he totally deserved it.” did we watch the same arcs, buddies on that end???? are you okay????
Just, i get hating a character, but it bums me out when i see someone just straight up say “this character should die. cause they suck” - why though? story-wise, how would that play out? what
ANYWAY THIS IS ALL MY OPINION DON’T TAKE THIS TOO SERIOUSLY PLEASE
what’s something about the smp fandom that makes you happy?
Yall are great!! I love how much we’ve created - art, animatics, writing -all of you <3 <3 <3 and also all the discussion about the story, the characters, the interactions - I’ve found a community in some groups and honestly it’s just *chef kiss* great!!! yall are super cool and awesome and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!!
anyway, for the spread: i tag - @territorialufo, @an-inspired-eternity and @n-ugg... don’t feel pressured to do this but if you guys want 😳

Some thoughts on every single disney animated feature film I've currently seen
-Snow White: This movie is nowhere near as boring as I expected it to be, but still pretty boring. Its technical innovations are incredible within context but it truly couldn't capture my attention whatsoever. The only reason I watched it is because I had to write a paper about it.
-Pinocchio: Clunky. There was a logic at the time at disney that the movies would more or less be a series of related cartoons tied together with a through-line and this is very much that. While it is still a cohesive narrative, it's very much a series of events rather than a story.
-Dumbo: More of a narrative here, but still very disjointed. The animation is good and it has much more personality since it's more or less a contemporary setting, but outside of the famous pink elephants sequence, it's not much.
-Bambi: This is what I'd consider to be the first truly cohesive story from disney's feature. This movie is truly phenomenal and well earned its way into the canon of epics. Bambi's journey from young fawn to prince of the forest is beautiful and moving. The jokes about dead moms only stick because this movie is just that good.
-Saludos Amigos: The first of the package films. Doesn't hold a candle to the superior Three Caballeros but still incredible in its own right. It's short enough to do a double feature with Three Caballeros so that's how I recommend viewing it.
-The Three Caballeros: Now THIS is what I'm talking about! The finale gets due recognition for being truly one of the best pieces of animation to come out of disney, but everything up to it is still pretty incredible. Horny donald is the best donald and I love the flying serape sequence.
-Melody Time: This one's very disjointed but Pecos Bill is one of the best and funniest shorts disney's ever made. I highly recommend at least watching just that segment.
-The Adventure of Ichabod and Mr. Toad: Sleepy Hollow's disney adaptation is the much more famous half of this feature but in reality, it's got practically nothing to do with the headless horseman. Mr Toad however, is truly phenomenal as an epic crime thriller that will keep you in suspense. I know that sounds like a joke but truly it's not. Go watch it.
-Cinderella: Boring
-Alice in Wonderland: Also boring
-Lady and the Tramp: I was shocked at how much I enjoyed this one. It's fun, cute, and even funny at times. It really drops the ball in the finale, but for the most part, this romantic comedy is a real gem and definitely holds up. I recommend to kids and adults alike.
-Sleeping Beauty: It's wild how contemporary this one feels. The first half is a teen romantic comedy about mistaken identity and sneaking away from strict parents to get some time with your secret crush, but the second half falls apart with its focus on action instead of the characters. Special shout out to the incredible colors and moving tapestry art style which is great throughout.
-One Hundred and One Dalmatians: Again, surprisingly contemporary. Disney's first foray into the 1960s gives us a fun romp with memorable characters and gorgeous animation that feels down to earth compared to the more fantasy driven works of before.
-The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Is Pooh disney's greatest character? That's hard to say but I wouldn't disagree with someone that thinks so. Cute, fun, and funny, this movie is truly a warm blanket. For as much as we give shit to sickly sweet disney, this movie doesn't pretend to be anything but a small little story of cute characters. The surprisingly somber ending will leave you more contemplative than you expected, but still content to have spent time in the hundred acre wood.
-The Little Mermaid: I am always saddened to remember that this movie doesn't hold up as much as I wish it did. For every memorable song or character moment, there's a piece of clunky animation or just plain weird dialogue. It's so clear the studio was trying to get back on its feet. This first step pushes forward, but not where it needs to be.
-Beauty and the Beast: A slow first act leads to a truly phenomenal second and third. A triumph in animation, songwriting, and the studio itself. Far more nuance and beauty in this story than detractors like to claim. Well deserving of its nomination.
-Aladdin: It's not a heartfelt movie with some laughs, it's a comedy with some heart. Great action sequences, stellar animation, and just plain fun. After the regal romance of beast a year earlier, Aladdin's vegas style romp is a welcome addition to a studio that often takes itself way too seriously
-The Lion King: Like with bambi, this coming of age story deserves all the praise it gets. Incredible music, awe inspiring animation, and a tight storyline with memorable characters make this movie worth watching over and over again.
-Pocahontas: Maybe the most contrived, try hard, fucking boring movie the studio has ever made. Almost unwatchable.
-The Hunchback of Notre Dame: I am always shocked to find out this movie isn't a beloved classic. Truly incredible art and an amazing score/soundtrack make this one an instant classic to me. If you haven't watched it since childhood, give it another shot.
-Hercules: If it was just funny and had good music this one would be good, but it also has some of disney's best characters and a beautiful story of dueling world views.
-Mulan: Would've been a 10/10 if it weren't for fucking Mushu which makes it a seven to me. Otherwise, a fun, story with great music and truly epic action scenes.
-Tarzan: Often considered the weakest of the renaissance, this adventure about identity and family features a great (if too in your face) phil collins soundtrack with truly amazing animation innovation being displayed.
-The Emperor's New Groove: It's not funny.
-Atlantis: The Lost Empire: I truly can't think of a single bad thing about this movie. Incredible art, one of disney's best scores, and a story that will keep you captivated on its adventure. This movie is near perfect.
-Lilo & Stich: I once heard someone say this is disney's best film and I'm inclined to agree. The gorgeous water color backgrounds and Chris Sanders' beautiful character design play out a beautiful story that reflects a story of two abandoned children, with nuance about colonization to boot. Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride might be the best original disney song too.
-Treasure Planet: Such a hit or miss movie. Amazing action set pieces, but contrived characters. A phenomenal score, but a terrible soundtrack. This might be the most studio noted film disney's done and it's all the worse for it.
-Brother Bear: Not perfect by any means, but the beautiful animation and even more beautiful backgrounds are worth a look. The story is a little too basic and a little too predictable, reeking of white writers.
-Chicken Little: This is the first time I realized movies could be bad.
-Meet the Robinsons: Your nostalgia lied to you.
-The Princess and the Frog: Way too many cooks in the kitchen. Everything is good, but it's all a little muddled. It's a shame to because Tiana deserves better.
-Tangled: Like with mermaid, this return to form isn't perfect but it moves the studio forward. Rapunzel and Flynn are great characters and the subtle tweaking of the "formula" show the studio's willingness to innovate.
-Winnie the Pooh: Cute, but a very pleasant, fine movie. Worth watching.
-Wreck-It Ralph: I applaud this one for being so different. Lots of comedy here and a far better response to dreamworks than chicken little ever was.
-Frozen: Unfortunately, this movie is worth the hype. Is it amazing? No, but it's certainly very good. It's easy to see why this was the phenomenon it became.
-Big Hero 6: One of many in the series of attempt for disney to do an action movie. This superhero coming of age is definitely one of the better superhero stories not explicitly based on a comic, but it still feels like a comic book themed movie rather than a story that truly connects to the media that inspires it.
-Zootopia: Nowhere near as poignant as it wants to be, but plenty of fun with a great score by Michael Giacchino.
-Moana: Easily the best of the new princesses and a damn shame that it hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves. Moana's stellar animation and blast of a soundtrack create a beautiful film that's perfect for young girls. Seemingly a stealth remake of mermaid by the original directors, this one deserves to be a classic.
-Ralph Breaks the Internet: A surreal comedy from disney with a weak story but certainly some story innovations you wouldn't expect from the company. Watch it if only to see something you'd never expect the studio to do.
-Frozen 2: A surprisingly lore driven film that I really didn't expect. Probably the closest thing the company has done to a lord of the rings style story in recent years and I'm excited to see what this potential leads to next.
-Raya and the Last Dragon: Rips off way too much from Last Airbender in a way that is never bad, but man it gets kinda borings. Can't focus on any one thing unfortunately.
