SOC HEADCANONS RAAHHHH

kaz brekker: -grinds his teeth nonstop day in and out -good at logistical math like statistics, inequalities, stuff like exponential expressions etc. so fucking bad at geometry. give him a triangle he is like kys. prove this is a triangle? you want proof? i have proof that your wife is cheating on you -inej makes him do puzzles a lot. sudoku type stuff -drinks black coffee for show but hes not a caffeine-keeps-me-awake guy. hes a sugar-keeps-me-awake guy. sometimes its candies but usually it is sugar cane that he chews (did not originally know you weren't supposed to eat the fibers and would just swallow all of it)

inej ghafa: -made herself a self care routine, then ignored it and still completes all the tasks but not the way she organized it -is not one to yell at the other crows but they have many behaviors that are her pet peeves -when practicing climbing trees she tried to climb a weeping willow and got stuck on some of the leaves. inej vs weeping willow and she lost. now willows are her least favorite type of tree. plant in general -thought counting sheep was literal. learned it wasnt but it still helps her sleep

jesper fahey: -has an infrequent tendency to accidentally buy doubles of something. when he does he goes 2 wylan and is like SUPRISE!! i got us matching (insert thing) here -can do the worm, cannot do the macarena -went through a phase where he tried to impress kaz with puns. ended with violence -tried ballet. Tried

wylan hendriks: -gets regular migranes -buys huge sticker packs and puts the stickers on random people he sees. sometimes the crows but mostly just random unsuspecting people on the street. -dry ass skin. hates lotion texture though so its permanent. -likes to wear bracelets underneath his shirts/jackets and wears a LOT of them on the daily but theyre all really tight so they dont make noise or anything. and nobody can see them

nina zenik: -owns a stuffed animal but its for beating the shit out of when she gets mad. big ass stuffie that she just goes cobra kai on. -prefers hard candies over soft ones. hard candies like rock candy or those grandma caramel things that hurt if you bite them -neutral on classical books and poetry but actually despises old philosophy things written by dead guys. -has some joints that she can bend further than normal. like a double jointed elbow or smth and likes to scare matthais and be like OH MY GOD I SNAPPED MY ARM BACKWARDS and then laugh at him (lovingly though)

matthais helvar: -isnt dead L+Ratio -went to a rave once on accident. has never forgotten the experience and regularly thinks about it when he spaces out. little disco lights behind his eyes when hes staring at a wall. (he also would not go back to one) -only wears low-cut socks. gets into arguments with people about his dislike of high-cut socks -has stupid rare non-lethal allergies. nina tries to get him to eat food that is foreign to him and sometimes he just like. starts hacking it up and gets hives or somethn

Yandere Obanai Iguro Headcanons

Warnings: Yandere behavior, spoilers for his mask, punishments, and stalking; lmk if I missed anything.

Authors note: Obanai is one of my favorite characters so this may be a bit longer; I also do not own this character!

Rarely, does anyone he encounters or secretly watches is worthy of his time; yet… you, the most prized, kind, and the lovely person he’s ever seen, wrapped his heart in tight strings, making him fall for you. Getting his attention is quite a hard thing to do, but once he realized the feeling of butterflies hitting everywhere in his stomach, making him sweat profusely and act ‘awkward’ around you; almost acting like a different person.

At first, Obanai will try his best to avoid you or rather not let you see him. Not because he hates you or dislikes the emotions that are coming forward, but rather because he believes that he might not be the best decision for you; his clan following him like a trail of blood with an eminence feeling of guilt. He’s rather insecure about his past, including his wide mouth that he rarely shows. He fears you’ll hate him, causing him to make sure you see him as ‘normal’ and ‘human-like’.

Of course, this shows that he’ll be stalking you like no other, watching you from afar in awe, a small smile projecting on his face under the mask. Much like the other Hahsira’s, he will try to find out everything about you: likes, dislikes, pet peeves, and many things that’ll make you happy. Once he does find out, Obanai is leaving small gifts on your doorstep, hoping you’ll like the clothing, hand-written notes, and flowers he left for you.

If you decide to have a crush on someone, or someone has the urge to pursue a relationship with you (romantically), they are immediately taken down by Obanai. Either, he would try to find information that they wouldn’t want anyone to know, blackmail them to never be around you or, threaten them and belittle them to the point they’re scared to be even around you.

This also goes along the same line of your loved ones, not that he enjoys seeing you happy and content with your loved ones, he just has high paranoia about anyone that’s around you. He believes that they’ll take you away from him, possibly stealing you away forever and completely forgetting about him; in which, he fears highly. In this case, if he sees you getting hurt (verbally, emotionally, or physically), they are getting hurt and killed in the most gruesome way.

Most likely, the way you caught Obanai’s attention was the fact that you were a strong Hashira; you had a kind, caring, and gentle personality that drew his attention. You treated him like a human being, something that he wasn’t used to. You always tried to talk to him, in which he'd always blow you off: “Leave me alone, you’re annoying.”

Yet, you continuously approached him, even when he spewed out threats that would hurt people and lead them to tears. But, now, since you’ve caught the eye of a snake, he becomes extremely protective of you, even if you’re a Hashira.

Obanai knows you aren’t weak, you’re a Hashira for damn sake; but the moment he starts to realize he loves you, your privilege as a Slayer is quickly stripped away. Either, he would come up with an excuse to Oyakata-sama about needing you to stay home; resulting in you ‘retiring’. Or, force you to quit by guilt-tripping and manipulating you.

Even though Obanai is very possessive of you, he wouldn’t kidnap you unless you were hurt very badly. Whether that’s you tripping and breaking a leg, someone assaulting you or almost getting eaten by a demon: Obanai would only take severe precaution if needed. He knows what it’s like to be caged inside a box, which he doesn’t wish upon you at all. But, he will manipulate you to keep you home as much as possible, using the excuse: “I can save you if any problems come forth. You have everything you want here, right? So why not stay to keep yourself tight, I’m only doing this to protect you. I love you, you’re safer here.”

Though, if you were to get hurt and end up in the Butterfly Estate with multiple injuries, Obanai is sitting right next to you, holding your hand, planning a way to get you ‘home’. Once you’re awake, he’s right beside you, ordering you to never scare him like that again: “Since you were hurt badly, Master has made it clear you’re retired. You’re not leaving without me anymore, it’s final.”

Back on the track of manipulating, he would order you around to stay by him at all times. This includes ‘accidentally’ slipping into a relationship with him and moving in with him; controlling you from the moment you step foot in your now-shared home.

Obanai’s yandere tendencies consist of being very overprotective, paranoid, semi-worshiping, and possessive. He’s always watching over you, paranoia covering his thick skin as if someone will come into the home and steal you away. Rarely does he allow you to leave the house, at least without him that is.

From his experience, he knows you need sunlight to function. He would allow you to come out, shop, and eat out at your favorite restaurants as long as he’s alongside you. Of course, anyone who dares to eye you is immediately stared down by him.

His biggest problem is his insecurity, fearing that you’ll abandon him and betray him like everyone else. This makes the affection between the two of you (at times) very confusing, he will believe he’s not good for you, pushing you away to the point of desperation of physical contact. Then, other times, he wants a cuddle session the moment he comes home, bringing you in a tight embrace whilst he smells your hair.

Because of his insecurity of his body and face, he would never ever drop off his mask around you, scared you’ll run away once you see it. But, when it comes to a year within the relationship, he’ll allow you to pull it down, unexpected by the gentle kisses plastered on his face given by you; it may lead him to tears.

The punishments you’ll receive are pretty slim in advance; he hates hurting you in any way. Normally, if you decide to act out, he would either ignore you or lecture you to the point you’ll feel bad.

Throw insults towards him? He’ll bluntly ignore it. He’s heard those before, it doesn’t affect him as much as it did when he was younger; go ahead, he’s heard worse.

If you decide to try to break out or try to hit him? He would be annoyed and hurt. Of course, he would snap at you… yelling at you as to why ‘are you stupid?’ or ‘try that again and see what happens next.’

However, the most he would do to ‘hurt you’ is when you escape; bruising your wrists. Either after he finds you stumbled into the dirt outside or he catches you before you make it out into the woods, Obanai is yelling at you and dragging you back to your shared-room. You’d have a few scratches from trying to get away and the now reddish-bruise forming on your wrists from him dragging you inside.

You will be spoiled with everything you want if you act good. You want jewelry? You have a basket full of it, plus that haori you wanted. You love to read? You get as many books as you want, letting you admire the book cover as he blushes at your happy face. Whatever you want, is yours; all he asks in favor is you allow him to cuddle you, get many kisses and hugs from the desperate snake Hashira.

So here's a fandom pet peeve I keep running across in random twitter/tumble encounters:

People acting as if bi characters in media "always", or almost always, end up in m/f relationships, so writing bi characters who have or end up in m/f relationships is 'nothing new' and they might as well be straight.

It's so funny that I see this claim so often when it's just... demonstrably untrue? What actually happens is that there are a lot of cishet characters in media who wound up headcanoned as some flavor of queer by the fandom which then cried 'queerbaiting' when said character winds up in the heavily telegraphed m/f ship in the end, but actual canonically bi characters?

First of all, there just aren't that many--more in recent years, but especially if you go back a couple decades no one could even say the b-word on screen--and secondly, most canonically, explicitly bi characters in mainstream series end up either alone, dead, or in same gender relationships. I can think of maybe three canonically bi characters who end up in 'straight' relationships, and a great deal more who do not, because a lot of people still have the attitude that 'rep just doesn't count if they aren't actively fucking the same gender'.

I would love, LOVE to know where this wealth of explicitly bi characters in m/f relationships are hiding, genuinely! And I don't mean 'straight characters the fandom reads as queer where canon never actually goes there'. In the meantime, I've just gotta do it myself. (My characters being explicitly queer, exploring their queerness, and also mostly in m/f relationships because I am bi and love having the best of both worlds in my ships is specifically designed to cater to me, and anyone who says these stories aren't queer can eat my shorts.)

An essay justifying drawing characters fat should not have to exist, you're totally right and I think everyone should do whatever they want forever BUT I would love to hear your fat joel thoughts anyway they sound like they would be fun to read.

Even in this day and age of representation in media, fat characters are shockingly under represented. If I asked anyone right now to name fat characters who are 1. Important to a story's plot, 2. NEVER mocked in ANY WAY (whether overt or subtly) for their weight and 3. Whose storyline has nothing to do with their weight.... Well, let's just say that list would be depressingly short.

Whilst it isn't really our job to further representation with fucking Minecraft characters, I think it's always valuable to take that into account, take into account how much it could mean to other people, and how much one can learn.

Joel is a desirable man. One that is considered attractive and charming by several other characters (Lizzie, Jimmy, fucking Iskall now). He's also strong, skilled in combat, and absolutely fucking terrifying. He's capable. He has so many positive character traits so rare in fat characters. When was the last time you saw a fat character that would have people quake in their boots not because they wielded political or financial power (because the fat and rich aristocrat or mob boss is one of the only times we see fat people in power in media and it's never good, using their far as a representation of greed). It would just be such a refreshing portrayal? To have a fat person shown to be skilled, desirable, beautiful, strong? With a complex personality and psyche that does not revolve around their fatness?

But also to bring it to Joel very particularly, I say it all the time but like. His skin is based off Shrek. It USED to be shrek. And shrek is not just an empowerment to those who are seen as different, as not conventionally attractive - it's also very very importantly a fat empowerment. Shrek is fat. Fiona, as an ogre, is... Slightly thicker than as a human (insert grimace about the different expectations of beauty that even make their way into a movie made to combat that). And they're both recognized as valuable not just 'in spite' of that, but BECAUSE of that. Fiona's best, true self is as an ogre that I think was meant to be seen as fat. Shrek himself is definitely shown to be his best self as a fat ogre. Joel himself also fits the values of shrek so well - he's so damn honest and outwards to the point of rude bluntness, he lets his 'ugly side' shine. We all love to incorporate little Easter eggs and fanon headcanon into designs and so many people like to give Joel little shrek antennas to wink at his origins but imo it's kind of weak and has become a pet peeve of mine, which is funny considering the very first time I drew Joel he was also skinny w those antennas, but I think it's because I didn't really 'get' him. If you want to reference his origins as shrek you have to go further than that. You have to make him someone who is attractive, but not in a conventional sense, and who is not just okay with that but embraces it wholly. Or at least idk give him a bigger nose or just anything other than those little antennas. Like. You know. Giving him a body type similar to the character his skin is based off of. Gasps all around

But even without bringing the shrek origin up, like I said - Joel just really hits me as a character who could be empowering for us fatties and, further, I just think it fits his vibes so much more. He's such a force or nature, so utterly and wholly himself, so imposing and strong that to make his design fat, to me, enhances his traits so much more. Like it's just good character design. To me small, skinny Joel really does not encompass his personality and vibes as well. To each their own of course. But I wish more people took that into consideration. Took what fatness can give to your character design. Does that make any sense

Near! :D

How I feel about this character: Like him, but tbh no real deep or passionate feelings. I haven't poked his brain enough to get interested. I will say I started liking him more in the A-Kira one-shot, and not only cause his long hair was awesome, but cause I wanted to know more about WHY he was like that, what he felt all those years later about the Kira Case, how his life had gone as the new 'L'.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Mello in a childhood rival-turned-enemy-turned-lover way; Light a very messed-up 'mutual substitutes' way; and Minoru Tanaka cause I think they should have at least met and picked each others' brains!

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Also Mello actually, sometimes I just want them to understand each other and come to like...not a moment of peace, so much as a moment of actually talking about what their childhood at Wammys did to them and their relationship as a consequence of it.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Anime Near really was boring and I had no interest in watching him. Manga Near is more interesting, but they still needed to make him more goofy. (I saw two alternate panel translations of 'Serious Near' vs 'Goofy Near' and I loved the second one.)

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Near meeting Minoru Tanaka!!! What a freaking loss of opportunity. Also, I'm a fan of the "Near wrote Mikami's Name" theory and I'd like that confirmed or denied in canon.

My OTP: I don't have one, I don't know him well enough tbh, even the ones I do ship, it's kinda with ambivalent feelings.

My cross over ship: Dont have one, sorry :3

A headcanon fact: He didn't grow his hair out cause he's too lazy to cut it or too depressed to bother, he just genuinely likes the way it looks and feels.

When I started shipping it if I did: In December 2022 when I started writing for them! Altho tbh I'm not sure if I so much as shipped them, or if I just really liked the challenge of writing about them getting and being together.

My thoughts: Love them when they're just eternally messed with and messing with each other. I like them both individually as characters so having them together is really fun.

What makes me happy about them: Their symmetry. They just GET each other. And I love picking at their brains and poking them with a stick, and putting them in Situations together. I think their reactions are really fun.

What makes me sad about them: That in canon they were (or maybe mostly just Light, cause we never got to pick L's brain about it) too dumb to see what they'd be bored as hell without the other. That they never got the chance to actually be honest with each other before it was too late. (Altho in the anime L did try.)

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: For L, my pet peeve is the idea that his whole personality was an 'act.' I've never heard a good argument for why he'd bother. From a character standpoint, this would mean we never knew anything about him, which makes me sad. As for Light, when someone gives him too many "good" or too many "bad" traits, for whatever reason. It no longer feels like Light at some point.

Things I look for in fanfic: Mind Games :3

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I don't think they're capable of it lol, sometimes I don't even think they're capable of ending up with each other. But for the sake of it, I wanted to see more of Light and Kiyomi. and as for L, Matsuda could take care of him.

My happily ever after for them: Mind Games, but forever! :D

Who is the big spoon/little spoon: Light is usually the little spoon cause L clings like an octopus, and Light needs to breathe so he faces the other way. L becomes the little spoon if Light wakes up in the middle of the night and L's asleep but not clinging to him.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity: Dang, I can't say Mind Games again. Or arguing. Or discussing a book cause it would be to one-up each other. So I think--sharing a meal. Just the two of them quietly enjoying their food together, and even giving little bits off their plates that they think (hope) the other might enjoy. A small sign that they want the other to live, and be happy.

TPB is my favorite series like the basic ass mf I am but. BUT. It also contains one of my biggest personal pet peeves in all of Warrior Cats. Which is saying A Lot with how botched this series’s writing is is in places.

Nightpelt not getting his nine lives while Tigerstar does??? Make it make sense. Genuinely what the fuck Starclan. We know they knew exactly how Tiger would turn out but somehow decided that poor Nightpelt, who was just trying to guide his fractured and weak clan through Brokenstar’s wake, and through even more tragedy and misfortune afterwards, wasn’t worthy enough Apparently. What did Night even do for them to hold him in such contempt? Besides *checks notes* being middle-aged and having a chronic illness?

There’s the fact that Brokenstar was still alive and on his last life yeah, but so was Pinestar when he left Thunderclan and that didn’t seem to be an issue other than Sunstar only getting eight lives (which is still way better than no extra lives). Brokenstar also broke the Warrior Code seven ways to Sunday before being exiled so it feels weird for them to still have recognized his authority.

For a long time my headcanon was that Starclan didn’t *actually* give Tiger his nine lives, he lied about it when he became Shadowclan’s leader, and when Scourge killed him, it was his one single life ending in such a jarring and gory way that it just *looked like* he died nine times in a row. Even if it was kind of flimsy, it was still more acceptable than what canon said.

With what has been written since though, this headcanon falls apart pretty badly. First, Tiger’s destiny to be evil - even if there’s a strong argument to be made that it was a self-fulfilling prophecy by how adults like Pinestar, Goosefeather, Thistleclaw, etc acted around him or directly treated him as he came of age - has been known about from his birth to the point where they tried to get his own father to commit infanticide! Starclan has had plenty of time to communicate amongst themselves about it, let alone watch over what has been happening to all the living and recently-deceased cats.

Second, we see Tiger’s nine lives ceremony. While we only know the backstories and full motivations of a couple of these characters, there are at least nine named cats who support him being leader enough to grant him a life. Even though these lives are meant to symbolically help in areas he’s lacking, and could be read as just acting in the best interest of the living cats within the leadership decision already being made as opposed to meddling in it… why didn’t they offer Nightpelt the same chance? Why weren’t they like “here’s the areas you need to work on and the life lessons you need to learn, and we’ll respect the circumstances created by the living” to him, too?

The only answer that feels somewhat satisfactory to me is that Starclan isn’t a hivemind and that while many of the cats were cheering during Tiger’s ceremony, cats like Redtail and Goosefeather were in a corner somewhere bashing their heads against a metaphorical wall.

Content warning for US politics ahead.

This also relies on Starclan Tiger supporters to be the Warrior Cats equivalent of Trump voters. Maybe not all of them are bad people but they are at least very easily manipulated into the ideal image of making their nation “strong again,” and are emotionally pulled in by the idea of someone who isn’t going to take shit standing up for “normal people” who they perceive to be like themselves, and are willing to put a vocal bully with a history of opportunistic, shady, and malicious behavior in a seat of power to make that happen. I could see Badgerfang falling into this camp. We know he’s just a kid who was forced into combat too young and that he isn’t a dick but is a victim of circumstance and had his worldview colored by the adults around him. He could have a more optimistic view of Tiger as someone who isn’t going to take shit from another Brokenstar, while simultaneously having a blind patriotic streak because again he was just a child and doesn’t know better than to question the system even if it failed him (based on how he describes his own death as giving his life up for his clan). Someone like this could easily be sucked into wanting the “strong” leader over the one they perceive as “weak” even if the “weak” candidate is more qualified and responsible, or has a more appropriate personality for leadership. (Side tangent I wonder how much Starclan foresaw about how Tiger would die. “Beware small cats” is so… specific.)

Starclan isn’t just a handful of jingoistic Shadowclan cats (+ Pinestar), though. There still should have been enough vocal outcry to make it not seem so cut and dry with Nightstar/Tigerstar, with the information in canon that the reader does get.

I know I’m reading way too far into this silly series with its million plotholes and inconsistencies and retcons, but I just want some answers. Thank you if you endured my pet peeve Night/Tiger rant.

I started out on World of Warcraft, moved to a site called ChickenSmoothie and did forum rp there, then a couple of other forum sites including one with a 700 word per post minimum. Then in... 2013? I ended up on Tumblr. I still rp on WoW, though.　

◈　FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT: I don't really do smut at all, not my thing unless I really trust the partner. Fluff's always nice. Angst, though? Angst is where we THRIVE. ...I do want some romantic plots though. Romantic angst :o 　

◈　PLOTS OR MEMES: Either!! Threads tend to go for longer if plotted, but memes are fun situational things and icebreakers! What I reaaaaally love is being talked to OOC. Come ramble about your character or ideas you have for situations and threads. Just talk about our characters! That gets me so hyped!!!　

◈　LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: I tend to stay in a 1-3 para range. It depends on the thread and what I'm given to work with. I try not to write when I'm not feeling it to avoid giving people less than they're worth. 　

◈　TIME TO WRITE: All over the place. Could be a few minutes, could be a week. I suffer from a feel chronic conditions and mental health issues which make me not always able to write or think well. As said above, I wanna give my rp partner my best! I do tend to write at night, though! 　

◈　ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): I try not to be. I try to pick muses that I don't see myself in specifically. Still, they can have bits? They can feature my hyperactivity sometimes, my overthinking. And Gwen is straight up a reflection of my homesickness sometimes.

I just have to rant about one of my pet peeves with Ronance fic writers (mostly the Wattpad ones) This is not about anyone in particular, or their writing styles, or their headcanons. I know I don't have to read something that I don't like, and I don't, but I have noticed this a lot more whenever I venture onto Wattpad and I want to point it out.

Many of the Ronance fics on Wattpad have Robin acting like a complete toddler. And I'm not talking about the autistic Robin fics, I LOVE those and think most of them have great autistic rep. But as someone who HAS autism, writing Robin acting like a complete toddler 24/7 is just not it.

Like taking a character that already is an AMAZING autistic representation, and then making them act like how everyone sees autistic people is just icky to me.

And I KNOW every single person who writes Robin like that doesn't mean it in a hurtful way. And I KNOW that I could just not read those fics, it's just hard when it's EVERYWHERE and so normalized on a specific platform.

And again, I know most of the people who DO write Robin that way are younger and most likely don't know a lot about autism, but autism in characters like Robin, doesn't make them act like a child all the time.

And what I mean by "acting like a child" is they make Robin COMPLETELY clueless and codependent all the time. They make it to where she can't get through a simple conversation, even on a good day. And it's like- that's NOT what autism is!

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't attack the people who write her this way, I usually just click off the story or ignore it, but I've seen this SO MUCH. Not just with Robin either, so many other heavily autistic-coded characters get written like this in fics and it's just annoying at this point. Especially having autism myself and an autistic brother.

I know complaining about WATTPAD having a bad representation of different mental issues and illnesses isn't anything new, but I still want to complain about it because the last time I brought this up people called me rude and hateful.

Am I the only one feeling like this or have other people noticed and are bothered by it too? I just want to know if I'm not alone on my annoyance with Wattpad 😭😭

- Idk what it is, he just hates seeing other people’s dirty clothes all over the ground, so you’ll see him muttering angry curses as he’s doing laundry lmao

- he’s like a dad, he gets mad when people leave their shoes laying about because he’ll trip over them 100% of the time

- “LUFFY I TOLD YOU TO PUT YOUR DAMN SHOES AWAY!”

- “HEHE- sorry!”

- and then Zoro leaves a bunch of fucking sake bottles laying around that Nami has to throw away later

- Nami’s pet peeve is when people leave trash lying around

Sabo

- This boy isn’t really triggered by much

- But when people disrespect books or just don’t treat books right, he gets upset

- He really loves books, so seeing them being mistreated doesn’t make him very happy

- he also hates rude children lmao 💀

- Idk he wants to kick a child’s ass if he catches them bullying another kid or being rude to someone

- Sabo’s a pretty respectable guy so he won’t kick the kid’s ass lol

- When people step on art of any kind, whatever that may be (writing, artwork, ceramics, food, etc.) he gets angry about that

- He never wants to see someone’s hard work get destroyed

1. the character everyone gets wrong

ok sorry everyone but it's edrahil. there are so many people who are incorrect about edrahil! the "he would not have said that" is so goddamn strong with that one!!!

my pet peeve is everyone thinking edrahil blames Beren for what happened. besties he Would Not. his only lines in the silm are words of devotion to Finrod and his case, which means he has to share at least some amount of Finrod's ideology! and also no one that close to finrod could ever be indifferent to humans.

besides! edrahil is a grown man! finrod's ten are all grown people! they had a choice and they chose to follow! they knew they were going to what was most likely their deaths!

the Ten and Edrahil especially are Not normal about finrod and beren. i rest my case.

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

"The Elves in Aman are suffering" / "The Amanyar are not able to understand people returned from Beleriand so they don't bother to even try" / "The Amanyar are inferior to Beleriandrim in every way, shape and form"

Actually the fandom is wrong about pretty much everything regarding Amanyar. Usually Valinor setting is explored either during the Years of Trees or in the fics centering on the characters returned from the Halls, and I have a special pet peeve with the latter - because, with rare exception, the elves of Valinor are portrayed as dull, emotionally unintelligent, dumb more often there not, holier-than-thou superior bastards. While there are a lot of differences in the mentality of Amanyar and Beleriandrim, I find it pretty disheartening to picture the differences in such way. Elves of Amanyar are capable of empathy and compassion. In fact, a lot of them fought in the War of Wrath - which may not be equaled to living in Beleriand, but they spent half a century there; that land became theirs too, in another, different way. When Beleriand sank, the grief was equal for both the Beleriandrim and the Host of the Valar.

14. that one thing you see in fics all the time

to second my first point. edrahil would not blame the quest on beren.

BUT ALSO. nothing makes me roll my eyes harder than author implying beren is to blame for the death of the Ten. was it beren who asked them to leave nargothrond? was beren forcing them to go? was it beren releasing the wolves one by one? was it beren who demanded the Silmaril in the first place?

The ten were all adult people who made their choice, as was Finrod, as was Beren. Beren, however, should absolutely blame himself for them dying. For maximum angst.

16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

fluffy kidnap fam...

like, i can't see it. first of all, i doubt M&M would have much time or resources for fluffy things, living in what was basically an apocalypse. second of all, it makes me chill every time. The image of kidnappers cuddling with the kids, giving the presents, etc - it's just. no. it almost equals horror genre to me, to be fair. on that note, i don't like overly dark portrayals of kidnap fam either. i think maglor was doing what he could, trying to ensure maedhros, the twins and their host survives as long as they can, and that isn't the most ideal environment to raise the kids. which you kidnapped, by the way.

why am i an independent, selective and mutuals only account? throughout my years of rp experience and the bullshit i had to endure, i automatically had to set strict rules so i don't have to be stressed out of my mind whenever i log in. i was always independent with my entire blog and created my own icons from scratch, moodboards, graphics, playlists, carrd pages (originally made by poohsources) and headcanons. plus, i'm not associated with any rp group. i'm only selective when it came to fandoms i don't exactly see frost navigating in like h.azbin hotel, s.upernatural and f.naf. mutuals only is self explanatory, but i will explain to showcase our interests for our muses interacting, i will need to be mutuals with you ♡

BEST EXPERIENCE : ohhhhh man, there's so many. and although some feelings have swayed throughout the years, I definitely think the connections I've made through the RP scene are the best part of it. I've genuinely made long time friends through this hobby - people who i talk to on the daily about their lives, people who i've gone to visit personally and hang out with. at the end of the day, the connections made are the biggest and best thing i can get from a hobby. to build a community with great people around me.

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS : to list a few specific ones (none are directly targeted, but I felt are relevant to me)

Deal Breaker: any weird hatred/blatant misogyny for fem/feminine ocs in the RPC. it's 2024 and i STILL be seeing people hate women or fem ocs so openly? why does this keep happening??? actually, scratch that - just general OC scrutiny drives me wild. most of y'all do know your favorite canon character is a OC who had higher production value, right? so why think most canons are better than ocs when we're all on the same playing field, ya know??

Pet Peeve: style over substance - i appreciate most aesthetics *motions to own blog* but i also have eyes that i need to read or see. I feel like i miss out on a lot of good blogs because i can't read their formatting on their blog or carrd and it's inaccessible :(

Small Pet Peeve: "I just go with the flow" - when I hear this, I usually see most plotting convos go dead in a matter of messages. lbr everybody, we all have dynamics or specific characters that catch our eyes or that we like. I'm so open about shipping and dynamics like, let's throw out something specific and see where that goes. THEN we can "go with the flow" but we can't flow without direction.

MUSE PREFERENCES FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT : Yes.

PLOTS OR MEMES : plotting for me personally - only because I work a full time job outside of tumblr, and i typically won't have time to always write up a reply to a meme or a thread. I adore plotting and world building with my partners especially via discord, so I'd highly prefer that so then it's easier (and motivates me!) to reply to our threads in the process.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : I unfortunately can't do short replies for the life of me - like some people can do one liners so well, but I need to set the scene & actions. So, usually medium to longer replies.

BEST TIME TO WRITE : i try to reply to threads over the weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sundays) cause that's usually the times I have availability. On weekdays, I'd do memes or headcanons to keep activity up. My muse can be fickle, and although i love to write, I also love to write quality content for my partners so it will take me time.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S) : each of my muses have a little aspect of me in them (which is unavoidable if i have the passion to write them) but none of them are me 100%. GOD, I hope none them are like me or I'm like them. some of these people are a fuckin mess.

Do you think the fandom, more exactly the larry fandom, is destined to be wrong , because of All the fics this fandom reads and can't go back to reality

I mean you read those fics and your view of those two change, you know, and yet you can't go and find the right impression they want to get across for their own because you see them in this light of finding love in each other forever

I don't know if that makes much sense, but so many things if seen are expectation people have for harry and louis but in real life they aren't true or will never be true

Hi anon!

This is actually something important to talk about imo, it is one of the reasons why I dislike manips so much. I do think there’s some truth to the fact that if you feed yourself the same thing over and over you will eventually believe it is the truth no matter if it actually is the reality or not. It’s why it peeves me so much that hldaily is cutting out all and any stunt content, e.g. in Louis‘ interview or meet & greet quotes, they just skip the freddie parts which creates the illusion that Louis doesn’t talk about freddie at all which is simply not the reality. And I get why they do that, bc the stunts are so upsetting to many.

If you’re confronted with something that challenges your view of reality constantly it is incredibly exhausting - but I think it is very important to face it, at least every now and then. It’s why I don’t shy away from the stunt content and do entertain theories and ideas that do not support The Larry Narrative™️ - which I think makes me, overall, a lot more relaxed. I might not agree on all the headcanons and cutesy little Larry fandom „truths“ as a result of that, but I feel like that gives me a much more nuanced grasp of the situation.

And yet - revisiting facts and looking at the big picture regularly and earnestly entertaining the possibility that they are not together, I still arrive again and again at the conclusion that they love each other, deeply, and that the public narrative we see is not aligning with their actions and what they consistently show they stand for. Everything else is just life. Are they together right this second the way the They Never Broke Up Front likes to preach? I’m not so sure about that. But I do know they are the love of their lives. Nothing else makes sense, and even more so, everything makes perfect sense when you look at it that way.

So yeah. This got long but I think you raised an important topic, and I do encourage everyone to not be scared to have their views challenged - if they change based on the facts you come to see, isn’t that better? To be believing something more aligned to reality instead of living in a fantasy world? And on the other hand, if it just confirms what you’ve been believing, isn’t that great, too? It makes the belief more solid, more deep rooted. It’s a win-win situation.

☆ Being fucking vague when I fuck up. Listen, I am stupid so if I accidentally forget something or fuck up please be specific about what I did wrong. I haven't had this happen the longest but the one time someone did this to me I instantly cut all ties. Granted that was not just a small thing with a semi vague answer, this was something we had plotted and all I got was a 'no'.

☆ Weird punctation. I haven't seen this on tumblr since most people have a pretty good grasp of English punctation but if I see someone that does something weird like write dialogue as _hello, my name is whatever_ instead of "hello, my name is whatever" or 'hello my name is whatever' I am instantly gone. I understand the English language is hard for even people that have it as their first language and I won't tell you what to do but when you don't try then I don't feel inclined to give you a chance.

☆ A little bit to much of self projection on your muses. I am not here to judge but I've seen people that go as far as identify themselves as their muse (not in any fandom I'm in now) and while I am well aware most people are capable of differentiating themselves from their muse when it seems a little to on the nose and the line between the mun and the muse gets blurry I'm a little yikes. But for me to get put off by it you really have to go hard on this one.

MUSE PREFERENCES: Male muses, especially morally grey ones or those that are semi-comedic or very charismatic villains.

PLOTS OR MEMES : Memes are good, plotting is good with friends but I like both.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES : Both is good. Short stuff is nice for starters and easy writing ideas but alot of time I tend to ramble.

BEST TIME TO WRITE : Weekend or literally on my day off. My brain power is at the max on my days off. Headcanons and stuff, though, early early mornings before work (I'm talking like 4-5 am).

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): I don't think so. Maybe Sigewinne for the people that don't realize I am a gremlin/to people that don't talk to me about my hobbies.
