it is beyond frustrating to see the loz series so dedicated to going in such a new & innovative direction in regards to gameplay, yet still so stagnant in regards to the story. like, sorry to be that person but the fact that it's 2023 & you STILL can't play as zelda in any of the main games is mind-boggling to me. even in totk, a major part of the story still revolves around rescuing- sorry, finding her. she has such a deep meaningful story (which is a step in the right direction, for sure!), but the player can only experience it secondhand as link. she is allowed to be a companion character, but only for the first 5 minutes of the 100+ hours you can spend in the game, as a little teaser for the OTHER companions you get much later (who pretty much all suck except tulin & sort of yunobo, but that's another post). we see her sacrifice, but we only get small snippets of the experiences that led up to that sacrifice. she is put through so much trauma & has to make this impossible choice, & we don't even get to grieve her properly or tell anyone what became of her. & by the end of the game, it doesn't matter because she's back to her regular old self, same as she was before she swallowed the stone, with no lasting physical or mental effects whatsoever, because why should her sacrifice actually have any meaning outside of how it served link? & before anyone argues with me for saying that, yes obviously it did have meaning outside of how it served link. but the way she is restored in the most ridiculous deus ex machina i've ever seen in a zelda game cheapens it severely. everything magically gets fixed by rauru & sonia, & just like link's arm, zelda is left no worse for wear, because of course we can't possibly have our main characters permanently changed by any of these horrific events they've lived through, oh no nothing like that.
link saves the day & gets rewarded with the beautiful princess.
this IS the basic story of almost every single zelda game & you can split hairs all you want, but it's the same with totk as well & i'm just so beyond sick of it. i think zelda (the character AND the series as a whole) deserves so much better than that.

Feyre betrayed Nesta in the worst way...
It's a common stance that many people, regardless of if they love or hate Nesta/Rhys/the IC, seem to have, but I don't think it is. Was Nesta complacent in keeping it from her since she found out? Yes. Was that wrong of her? Yes again. Was blurting it out the way that she did also not ideal, to put it mildly? Absolutely yes. But was it out of malice? No.
And Nesta didn't care. Couldn't think around the roaring. 'Have any of them told you, their respected High lady, that the babe in your womb will kill you?' Amren barked, 'Shut your mouth!' But her order was confirmation enough. Face paling, Feyre whispered again, 'What do you mean?' 'The wings,' Nesta seethed. 'The boy's Illyrian wings will get stuck in your Fae body during the labour, and it will kill you both.'
The idea that this was all said in malice just never sat right to me, and after scrolling through some comments on a video discussing the matter, the pieces finally clicked into place. First, let's talk about the hike, though.
Her breakdown after that hike wasn't a moment of catharsis and letting walls down. It was a weeks worth of exhaustion, dehydration and depression that resulted in Nesta giving in to the torture she was put through just to end it. It was a pivotal moment in the IC's efforts to break and then reconstruct her to their liking, or rather, to Feyre's liking. However, a vital stepping stone in reaching this point would be for them to gaslight and isolate her until she truly had no one. I mentioned before that I didn't think anyone in the NC would chose Nesta, and this is an example of why I believe that.
Nesta snarled, but Feyre stepped between them, hands raised. 'This conversation ends now. Nesta, go back to the House. Amren, you...' She hesitated, as if considering the wisdom of ordering Amren around. Feyre finished carefully, 'You stay here.'
Nesta is clearly upset and hurting and Feyre disregards that entierly, not even offering to discuss or find out why Nesta is hurt or feeling the way she is. Feyre didn't bother to try and understand Nesta before and she isn't bothering now. Either Feyre assumes she knows what Nesta is thinking/ feeling, or she just doesn't care. She dismisses her, telling her to go back to her prison, disregarding Nesta's choices, autonomy and opinions again.
If I recall right, it was Amren who informed Nesta that she was free to go where she wanted if she made it down the ten thousand steps. Feyre wouldn't order Amren, even to stand up for her sister, but happily go against Amren's own words to punish Nesta? Hypocrisy at it's finest.
All of this leads to one outcome: Nesta feeling trapped. Cornered and without a single ally in the whorld who would defend her properly. Isolated from anyone who'd be willing to treat her with decency, while believing she doesn't even deserve the basics of kindness. It leaves Nesta more prone to actually going through with committing suicide, since the behaviour of these people, mixed with her own self hatred, sets a precedent for how Nesta believe she'd be treated.
We see this when Nesta first meets Emerie, thinking to herself that 'the invitations would stop' when Emerie learned what nesta was really like. Or at least what Nesta perceived herself to be like.
Even though Nesta has Emerie and Gwyn, she has no reason to think, based on what brainwashing the IC has already done coupled with her self deprecating mindset, that they wouldn't side with the IC. This isn't to say Emerie and Gwyn are like the IC by any means. I think they're great friends to Nesta, and if that changes or not later on is more so up to SJM and her writing, rather than their characterisation. It's the reality that the IC have created for Nesta through abuse, gaslighting and borderline torture that's wound up feeding in to Nesta's already existing trauma and self worth that has lead to her becoming isolated this way.
And Nesta didn't care. Couldn't think around the roaring. 'Have any of them told you, their respected High lady, that the babe in your womb will kill you?'
The comment on the video I saw explained that, while Nesta was angry when saying this, she wasn't trying to hurt Feyre or take her anger out on anyone. Nesta was angry because she wasn't told that she made a new trove. She was angry that these people had the audacity to vote on her life, and take bodily autonomy from her. She was angry that Feyre wasn't acknowledging or even trying to understand how Nesta was feeling. She was angry that she was treated like the bad guy- or more like a petulant child in this scene, I suppose- and had her feelings dismissed again.
Dismissed the way her mother/grandmother used to when she was trained. The way her father did when he refused to hunt. The way the Mortal Queens did when Nesta merely asked them to save her people. The way Feyre did when she asked for Nesta's help again, and again, and again during the war, only for it to never be enough in the eyes of other. The way that Elain did when she got upset at Nesta time and time again for how she handled her trauma or how she wasn't over her trauma or how Nesta tried to protect her. The way Cassian dismissed her feelings when he got mad at her for having an opinion of Rhysand.
Nesta was angry. She had every right to be angry. Most people would be angry, and alone, and if they already had suicidal thoughts like Nesta, having been abandoned by everybody while gaslit into thinking it was fine, and then only called upon to be used for the benefit of others while the snickered behind her back and dismissed her again.
As the commenter put it; She was trying to find someone who would relate to her anger. Nesta wanted an ally, someone who wouldn't leave her alone. Someone to be by her side and, perhaps subconsciously, thought that Feyre, who'd hunted for them and helped look after them for years, would chose Nesta's side.
The parallels between Nesta and Feyre's situation here are clear, and I think Nesta understood that when she said what she said. I think that Feyre believing Nesta said it to hurt her was a gross misunderstanding on her part, but it's not like she ever asked Nesta how she felt. Now that I think about it, for all that Feyre talks about Nesta feeling too much, and taking everything to heart, she never once confirms with Nesta. Never asks how Nesta feels.
Since coming to the Night Court, Nesta's feelings and traumas have been twisted and spoken about only in relation to how Feyre feels.
'Do you know how embarrassed I was when we got the bill this morning and my friends-my family- had to hear all about it?'
The intervention began, not because of Nesta doing something to risk hurting herself, but because Feyre was embarrassed and started crying into her breakfast.
'All of it pains me… It pains me that Nesta has become… this. It pains me that she and Feyre are always at each other’s throats. It pains me that Feyre hurts over it, and I know Nesta does, too.'
Cassian is pained, not because Nesta is suffering so greatly that she isolated herself for her own sisters (who didn't really act like sisters between the end of ACOWAR to... well now, so it's understandable), or because Nesta felt her only reprieve from her pain was in sex and alcohol, but because Feyre hurts over it. He knows Nesta does (but he doesn't know she hates fire? Or is uncomfortable at their social gatherings, since in ACOFS he somehow hoped she wouldn't take the bribe money and say she enjoyed their solstice party??? Because...Why?) But, of course, it's Feyre's feelings on the matter that are prioritised.
'Nesta is Nesta. She does what she wants, even if it kills her sister.'
Rhysand, not that I expect much from him, honestly, is utpse, not because he can't find a way to help Nesta. Not because his court is actively cruel to Nesta, hell, he joins in. Not because Nesta is in pain, in no small part because of him and his court. Not even because Nesta is spending his money. Because she's upsetting Feyre. Because, god forbid, Nesta have trauma and handle it in a way that doesn't make his wife happy.
Feyre tells others how she thinks Nesta feels, the others go with it, or just come to their own conclusions, not sure which is worse, but nobody stops to consider how she feels. Feyre feeling like Nesta said it to hurt her, I think, is simply proof that she doesn't understand Nesta.
Let me ask you, if you found out you were lied to in a way that affects your ability to make informed decisions regarding your own body, by someone you were supposed to trust, and who should've had your back, and that your own sibling has been betrayed by the same people in a very similar, if not identical way, and yet you're the one being turned into the bad guy, and dismissed, would that not make you feel isolated and frustrated?
It's understandable that Nesta tried, either consciously or subconsciously, feel less alone by appealing to common ground to find an ally. Nesta mentions at the end of ACOSF that she believes Feyre loved her from the start, and after those years in the cabin, I think Nesta sees Feyre as someone reliable.
This scene doesn't feels like Nesta trying to hurt Feyre. It feels like Nesta trying to reach out to the one person she could rely on; Feyre. Her mother was abusive, her father was a deadbeat, Elain was her ward, and the IC hate her.
'Nesta studied me for a long moment. And then she said with equal quiet, though we could all hear, “I can’t get into a bathtub, anymore. I have to use buckets.” I hadn’t known—hadn’t even thought that bathing, submerging water…'
Amren tells Cassian to keep reaching out his hand, even though Nesta has reached out her own time and time again. Esspecially to Feyre, as she was the one Nesta relied on before. Possibly even the only person Nesta has ever relied on, and Fyre was the one she was trying to rely on now.
Nesta relied on Feyre, and needed to rely on her again. To have strength together, in a situation where they both lost their choices and autonomy to Rhysand and his (cause don't pretend it's even slightly Feyre's) IC.
It may have been wrong to say it in that way, at that time, under those circumstances, but this, to me, feels like Nesta's way of reaching out her own hand only to be misunderstood, punished, and dismissed again. And again. And again.
In a way, I think Feyre might have, unintentionally, betrayed Nesta in a worse way than Elain ever has. Elain was a ward. Almost like a child, to Nesta. They were never on equal footing. Moreover, Nesta was never punished if she upset Elain, no that she should be, or if Elain misunderstood her. Nesta never relied on Elain the way she relied on Feyre. She never trusted or had faith in Elain, the way she clearly trusted Feyre. She had thought she'd found an ally, with similar pain, in Feyre, in the moments she spilled the secret, but Feyre didn't care.
When I was reading the scene where Cassian told Feyre his idea to take Nesta on a punishment hike, she sounded all too gleeful when telling him how miserable Nesta would be. That, in my opinion, is the worst betrayal of all.

Cards pulled out: four of wands reversed, three of cups, the empress, page of swords
So Pile 1
What I see is that in the past you mgihtve never felt included or welcomed. People mightve canceled on you a lot of you could have a lot of family members who don't like you or cut you off. What you need to feel is your insecurity and instability and your self doubts. These issues have most likely caused you to be inable to go to requires or party's or to just have fun with people or just to feel comfortable with yourself being in an area with people without being so subconscious about yourself. You need to Heal by getting more buturingveuth yourself and to be more in tune with you feminine energy. You need to find balance in yourself and have patience with yourself. You should communicate more and be assertive and direct. Don't overthink anything.
Why should you heal this issue?
Nine of cups and King of cups
You'll finally have your dreams come true and finally feel fulfilled with yourself and feel accomplished, you might even meet more emotionally mature people who are patient and tolerant which can help you a lot.

Pile 2
Tumblr media
For pile 2-
You are in need to heal your connections, both personal relationships as the connection to yourself.
You seem to be stuck isolating yourself, turning a blind I to well meaning connections meant to blossom.
The hurt you've endured in the past keeps you from opening up towards like minded individuals, offering you a harmonious relationship or simply showing interest in you as a person.
Your inner dialogue keeps repeating the same mantras of vigilance and distrust while your need for vulnerability and unity is at a constant high leaving you fighting an inner conflict.
This has exhausted you both mentally and emotionally.
As of now you are asked to face your fears of betrayal and slowly work towards connecting with your surroundings.
You have already made progress in the right direction, you just need to push yourself a little.
Step away from your inner turmoil and allow people to get to know you for you,not for what you perceive them to want from you.
Yes, you have encountered negative people in the past and your need to keep yourself safe from future disappointments and hurt is understandable but not only are you stunting your own personal growth, you are denying yourself of the love you yearn for.
You are meant to experience safe and loving connections and they are there for you to explore if you are brave enough to cross that bridge.

Pile 3
Tumblr media
Pile 3-
Are living in a lack mindset?
The first two cards in your pile paint a picture of some on constantly over burdening themself in hopes of gaining more.
You seem to be working towards emotional fullfillment, longing to have it all in the near future ,thereby forgetting to enjoy your blessings and achievements in the now.
You like to be prepared for the unknown,as much as possible and not wanting to experience certain live situations again has lead you to become a hard and disciplined worker but you can't seem to see yourself as such.
You are stuck viewing yourself as someone aimlessly drifting when you have clearly worked past this aspect of you.
You are in need to work on both yourself Image and your perception on "being of value".
You do not need to be on top of everything for people to love and admire you.
It's okay to not be prepared for everything and relay on your loved ones, especially in regards to emotional situations.

Back to me😌
Pile 4
Cards pulled out: The star, ace of pentacles reversed, nine of wands reversed, seven of cups reversed
Pile 4.
You need to Heal your creative and positive energy. You need to let your healing energy do its job and heal and not stop it from healing.
You need to start healing these issues so you won't make bad financial decisions, you need to recognise how badly you're spending money and being stingy at the same time. You need to stop being so stubborn and not accepting the help that is offered otherwise you'll be left with nothing and shit options left because you don't accept the help and you don't let yourself think positively and don't you let yourself get hope that you need. You need to work on your issues where you avoid your problems and being too focused on superficial shit.
Why you need to Heal these issues?
Eight of cups and knight of pentacles
So you can finally leave these issues and be given and get stability, security and good financial opportunities.
STOP BEING NEGATIVE OH MY DAYS. You're in a bad situation because you're stubborn and don't let yourself have hope and be positive. Let yourself heal and be positive and hopeful. My days..

Fluff Headcanons - Spooky gaming with the genshin characters!
A/N: The fluff version of the Halloween special, and a bit of a new format. I hope you enjoy!
C/W: Modern AU, swearing, game-typical violence.
Tumblr media
Alhaitham
This year, Alhaitham wanted something less conventional. Something that would really engage his mind with interesting commentary about society and the world at large, but still retain some of that spooky vibe.
Cruelty Squad easily caught his attention with its assaulting graphics and interesting premise. It clearly begged for attention, and he was willing to humor it.
It was precisely what he was looking for, and what an answer it was. Alhaitham had no trouble adjusting to a more corporate mindset.
Alhaitham: The super AI emerges from an extremely pornographic ultra hyper suck and fuck…
Kaveh: Um… What? What are you talking about?
Alhaitham: You don't understand, Kaveh. Everything that surrounds us? It's Gorbino's Quest. The Gorbino's Quest... of life.
Ganyu
The poor little cinnamon roll isn't that much of a horror fan. Violence and death generally unsettles her, but Ganyu still wants to feel some of that holiday spirit.
After a lengthy deliberation, Ganyu chose Little Nightmares. The graphics are quite pleasing to the eye, it is horror, but not so horrible and violent. At least that's what she heard.
Ganyu: Oh, look! It's a Nome, right? And it's offering me food… How nice of it! Um… Oh n-no! Why would you d-do that?!
Amber
The great outdoors with a horror theme? Count her in!
Amber made sure to avoid spoilers to have the full, unprecedented The Forest experience. The landscape is so serene and peaceful… The freedom of movement, the sounds of nature and the survival elements are so fun and relaxing!
True, there are some hostile people on the island, but they seem harmless enough.
Until the night falls…
Amber: Wait… What's that? That doesn't look human… Did it just birth out… Ew… Yikes! It's coming at me!
Suffice to say, Amber stuck around until more or less the moment when you have to chop up bodies and make effigies out of the parts.
Beidou
Alcohol, hard rock and murdering demons with big guns is how Beidou plays on Halloween, so she'll gladly hop on Doom Eternal.
There's nothing better than impaling a snake demon's head with its own broken arm, right as the beat drops.
Beidou: Life has enough undefeatable horrors. Let's just have some fun tonight!
Ningguang
The old ones are the good ones! Ningguang doesn't play a lot of video games, but she did like a few titles back in her younger days.
On this special occasion, Ningguang got a box of her old possessions to dig through, and found the original Dungeon Keeper on CD.
Everything is just as she remembered it was.
Ningguang: Oh, these imps… They are the perfect workers, aren't they? They don't eat, sleep, need vacation, have a social life, and they work harder when you slap them. Ah, if only I had them as my subordinates…
Keqing: *narrows eyes*
Kokomi
Another fan of the retro side of games, Kokomi enjoys a good tactical challenge - developing the ability to conjure small scale plans is as important as improving the grand ones.
Her pick is Myth II: Soulblighter. It’s a brutal, unforgiving RTS with a distinctively dark atmosphere - just perfect for the season at hand.
Even when Halloween comes to a close, Kokomi will find it hard to drop the game. The insanity that is Legendary is quite addictive indeed…
Kokomi: You here… You here… And now the crescendo!
Game: “Move here move there…”
Game: “Catch!”
Game: *explosion*
Game: “Casualty.”
Kokomi: Oh. Change of plans, I guess…
Yae Miko
Upon hearing of the wonderful possibilities for tormenting the other party, Miko didn't hesitate to bring out the Mora for Dead By Daylight and all of its DLC.
Though it was quite fun at first, the ugly nature of the game soon surfaced. As none of her friends were brave enough to delve into this swamp, she was forced to join up with random people, who frequently threw the games.
Such a combination was enough to make even such an ancient and wise kitsune lose her absolute cool.
Ei: Why are you crouching behind that tree, Miko?
Miko: The killer has caught one of my teammates, and I will release them by ambushing them with a flashlight!
Miko: Come on… Now! You didn't expect that, did y- What?? Lightborn?! Again?! Who even plays it nowadays?! Oh, you daft, blind motherf-
Ei: Miko!
Miko: Oh… Hm. Sorry. I got a little carried away. But that's sooo unfair, isn't it? Why would they add a perk that cancels a whole mechanic? I can't believeitthegameissokillersided…
Xiangling
Xiangling absolutely didn't look forward to Halloween, especially with Hu Tao around. She just can't take horror, at all, of any kind, ever. Especially jumpscares.
She still couldn't believe that she agreed to play a horror game, let alone one suggested by the director. The one and only Five Nights At Freddy's at that.
Much to Hu Tao's amusement, she didn't even make it past Night 1. Xiangling was thoroughly spooked, and after being jumpscared once she completely refused to keep playing.
Seeing Xiangling so terrified made Guoba very upset, and Hu Tao quickly apologized to avoid being roasted by the angry god.
Hu Tao: So he killed the kids, but then! Their souls escaped their robot prisons and made an old spring lock suit crush him to death! WoOoo~
Xiangling: Ah! Hu Tao! No more!
Guoba: Nane na! Grr…
Hu Tao: Oh, don't fret little Guoba! I'm just joking!
Zhongli
Morax always had trouble catching up with the latest cultural and technological trends of the humans. Sure, he can use a computer more than well enough, but he finds third and first person video games confusing. The gameplay is most often too fast and rapidly changing for him to be up to speed with it, let alone enjoy it.
Throughout all of his exponentially long life, nobody was as persistent in including him in the festivities as Hu Tao. She tried to convince Zhongli to play something horror-related, but he was assertive. So, the director decided to find a game that would suit his liking - an indie title.
Her pick fell on Water Womb World - it's simple mechanically, is quite disturbing and has an interesting concept.
Much to her surprise, Zhongli thoroughly enjoyed his fifteen minutes with the game, even if he didn't find it very scary.
Zhongli: Ah, I agree with the message of this title. The blind belief in deities can lead to fanaticism, which breeds regress rather than progress. I do think that a more healthy and critical approach to Rex Lapis' rule would be beneficial to our current day society. Especially that the age of gods draws to an end…
Hu Tao: Aiya! Do you have to turn everything into a lecture, Zhongli? You're not my grandpa, are you?
Hu Tao
An avid enjoyer of the spookfest, Hu Tao decided to pick something hitting closer to home this year - Mortuary Assistant.
The gameplay loop feels great! Just like in her line of work, just without the smell. She's having the time of her life preparing the corpse for burial. And hunting the demon. That's also quite cool!
Hu Tao: *hums while wheeling the corpse into the crematory*
Game: "Are you sure?"
Hu Tao: Yup! I know your tricks more than well. Aiyaya, you could try something more interesting next round! Furnace time~
Game: *sounds of fire and demonic screaming*
Hu Tao: Toodle-oo~
Bennet, Noelle, Fischl, Razor
A few weeks before Halloween, Bennett mentioned a game night, since he couldn't be there in person. Noelle, diligent as ever, picked this up as a cue to start looking for something.
Luckily for her, Phasmophobia was on a large and affordable discount, so after proposing the idea and organizing a money pool, they all got to proving the existence of ghosts.
Lisa lent Razor her personal computer for the night, on condition that she could take a little peek every now and then at their session without interrupting - and what an amusement it was, as none of them are especially acquainted with horror.
Noelle: "The ghost responds only to people who are alone." Somebody has to go in to talk to it…
Razor: Razor won't go! Ghost scary!
Bennett: I would go, but with my luck, the ghost will eat me right away…
Fischl: Hmph! Although yes, I, Fischl, The Prinzessin Der Verurteilung and the founder of The Immernatchreich possess the courage to face demons and spawns of darkness alike, I…
Everyone: So you'll go then?
Amy: Um… N-no! You m-misunderstood!
Furina
The Great-And-Grand Archon of Fontaine played and saw every horror game and movie, and never once got scared. Or that's what she claims, at least.
That's why Focalors decided to prove her excellence with a true, dark challenge she could easily overcome, thus proving her gaming capabilities for all to see!
In hindsight, Darkest Dungeon wasn't the best of choices she could have made… It did amuse Monsieur Neuvilette, however.
Neuvillette: I think you should retreat. Your heroes are close to dying.
Furina: I appreciate your advice, my dear Iudex, but your worries are misplaced! My Crusader will deal a critical hit, thus ending the pig-man's miserable opposition, and granting us treasure galore! Watch and marvel at my skill!
Game: "A singular strike!"
Furina: Ahaha, see? I told you it would be fine~ Wait… It's not dead yet…?
Game: "Mortality - clarified in a single strike!"
Furina: Um…
Game: "There can be no hope in this hell, no hope at all…"
Game: "And now the true test - hold fast, or expire."
Game: "Those who cover injury find it in no short supply."
Game: "As life ebbs, terrible vistas of emptiness reveal themselves."
Furina: Ret- T-tactical withdrawal!
Game: "Cornered, trapped, forced to fight on!"
Game: "This is no place for the weak, or the foolhardy."
Game: "More blood soaks the soil, feeding the evil therein."
Game: "Perched at the very precipice of oblivion."
Game: "More dust, more ashes, more disappointment."
Game: "Another life wasted in the pursuit of glory and gold."
Game: "Wounds to be tended. Lessons to be learned."
Neuvillette: Lady Furina, if only you had-
Furina: Silence.
Shenhe
Shenhe never gets scared. The most terrible of monsters or existential terrors are no match for her training and resolve, no matter how unexpected they might be. She might not get scared, but she can get startled, right?
Who else would pose that question but Hu Tao, the mistress of horrors herself? It was always her objective to get some sort of reaction out of the adepti disciple, no matter how insignificant and small it might be. Many things were attempted - scary movies, troubling situations, body horror, cosmic horror, existential horror… But none of them ever worked. Shenhe remained stalwart.
Out of desperation, Hu Tao was forced to reach for the ultimate weapon. The bane of those unprepared. The myth. The legend. The game.
The Scary Maze Game.
After plugging in an old spare monitor, she invited Shenhe to “test her precision”, and stepped a few safe meters back.
The monitor ended up skewered with her polearm, but Shenhe did yelp - much to her delight.
Not all was fun and games though, as Hu Tao got the mother of all lectures from Cloud Retainer. Something about Shenhe’s red ropes breaking, but the director didn’t pay much attention, and just nodded along.
Hu Tao: Heya, Shenhe… You don’t mind the little scare I gave you back on Halloween night, do you…?
Shenhe: Oh? Well, as much as I was upset during the moment, I must admit it was quite… cathartic. I never experienced anything like that. I do not hold any grudge towards you. Actually… Thank you for that, director Hu Tao.
Hu Tao: Phew! And I was here thinking I’ll share the fate of that display!

The Color Pink (Part 10)
Uhhh this one took me a while to get to bc my brain went on vacation.
Hazel had been on cloud nine since her last date with The Noise. Even though it had been days, it felt like it all happened yesterday. For some strange reason, life felt completely different. She found herself smiling a lot, especially when she thought of him. She was itching to see him again, but she didn't want to seem clingy. However, she couldn't seem to contain herself. It had been so long since she felt a love like this, and she wanted to cherish every moment. She paced back and forth as she waited for their usual 7 o'clock phone call. The phone rang, and she picked it up without hesitation; "Hi, Theo!"
"Hey! How-"
"We should go on another date!"
He chuckled. "Eager, aren't we?"
"Yeah, I am. Sorry," she laughed nervously.
"I mean, I don't disagree."
"Great!"
"What were you thinking we do?"
"Um... I didn't think about that."
"I don't have any ideas."
"Hmmm..."
They went silent for a minute.
"Oh!" Hazel said, "I got it! Why don't we go stargazing? There's an opening in Picnic Park where you can see the stars!"
"How... How does that work?"
"What?"
"How can we see the stars when we're in a tower?"
"I don't know. I try not to think about it too much, it gives me a headache."
"That's fair."
"Do you maybe want to do it tonight?"
"That's a little short notice. I'm also kind of tired."
"Right, right, right. Sorry. I'm just excited to see you."
He chuckled again. "It's okay. If you want, we can do it tomorrow night, though."
Hazel hummed in thought for a minute. "Oh, yeah, that actually works out better. I'm not opening the cafe tomorrow."
"How come?"
"I want a three day weekend. I need some time off."
"That's understandable. I do that every now and again. I can set my own hours sometimes. It has to be approved occasionally. There was one time I took a week off because I just didn't feel like going to work."
"Really? That sounds... nice."
"It is, but I got so behind. It was bad. So yeah, that's why some of my extra days off need to be pre-approved."
"I try not to take too many days off. I guess it really doesn't matter much since I don't get a lot of customers."
"Hey, what did I say about that mindset?"
"I know, I know. I'm just saying. As much as I enjoy The Vigilante's company, it gets a little tiring hearing him rambling on and on about justice and this and that."
"Ugh, you deserve an award for dealing with him so often. I can't stand that guy."
"He's uh... He's an acquired taste."
"He suuuuucks!"
"Oh, be nice."
"That's not really my thing."
"Mhm, okay. I call bullshit."
"Yeah? How come?"
"You're nice to me."
"Only to you."
She let out a small giggle. "I believe that."
"I hate to cut it short, but I'm feeling really tired. I'm probably gonna make some food and head to bed."
"Okay. What time do you want to meet up tomorrow?"
"How about 8 or 9?"
"Why so late?"
"I thought you wanted to go stargazing."
"Oh! Right!" She laughed.
"Okay, well... Goodnight, Hazel."
"Goodnight, Theodore."
-
Hazel had suffered through the anticipation of the whole day waiting for their date. The day went by so slowly. She felt as if she was stuck in waiting mode. She got ready in something casual. She left her hair as was. She put on a cute pink Hello Kitty t-shirt with some straight leg blue jeans and white sneakers. She felt that she had been overeager to see him, so she wanted to dress to impressive. Play it cool, she thought.
She called a cab and headed down to the Gnome Forest. She walked over to Picnic Park. She saw some goblins that looked unusually like The Noise. She actually thought one of them was him, but when she called to it, it didn't respond. When she got to the park, she saw The Noise waiting for her. He was wearing a black t-shirt with a yellow bomber jacket and blue jeans with black Vans. He ran up to her and picked her up with a spin. She laughed as she held on to his shoulder.
"Hey," she spoke through laughter.
"Hi," he chuckled. "I was waiting for you." He put her down softly.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to be late."
"No, no, I got here kind of early. We didn't specify whether we were meeting at 8 or 9 so I got here at 8."
"Sorry."
"Stop apologizing! It's not your fault."
"Okay, okay." She giggled. "Here," she grabbed his hand. "I'll show you where the opening is."
"Heh heh..."
"What?"
He snickered. "Nothing, it's just the way you said that."
She smiled and shook her head. "You have a dirty mind."
He cackled as she tugged his arm. They came to a small area of grass. Above them was an opening in the trees that showed the night sky. Amazingly, the stars were bright and abundant. There were so many of them, which was funny considering they were inside a tower. Hazel looked at him and smiled when she saw him looking upward. "This is the spot I was telling you about."
"Yeah," he looked at her. "You weren't kidding."
"I mean, I haven't been here in a while. I really don't have to. If I want to go stargazing, all I would have to do is look at you."
He blushed and rubbed the back of his head. "Stop... I'm not that famous..."
"Are you kidding? You're like the most famous person in the tower. I think more people know you than Pizzaface."
"Whatever," he poked her, and she giggled.
Hazel sat down and so did Theo. They laid down slowly and looked up. The sky was pitch black, decorated with sparkling stars of white, red, green, and blue. The stars in the tower were so different from the stars outside. They had all sorts of different patterns and shapes.
"I remember," Theo spoke, "when I was a kid, we went to a planetarium as a school field trip. It was really cool."
"I went to one, too," Hazel responded, "my school did the same thing!"
"We got to see space ship equipment, pieces of space suits and meteorites. Then they took us to this dome room where they had all the stars. They showed us the constellations and told us their backstories."
"Really? I didn't get that experience as a kid."
"Yeah. The only constellation I can still spot is Orion. You can only see it during the winter. Well, it starts in the fall, and that's how I know winter's coming."
"That's really cool! I don't know where the constellations are. I only really know what they're called."
"I'm surprised no one's made up constellations for the stars in here."
"We could make some."
"Yeah, we could, but I'm not the most creative."
She looked at him. "Really? You, not the creative type?" She was very sarcastic.
He looked at her and laughed. "I guess I am, but not when it comes to constellations."
"Let's test it out." She pointed at a few stars in the shape of two squares. "How about that one?"
"Uhhh... A book, maybe?"
"Or nerdy glasses."
He chuckled. "That one kind of sucked."
She slapped his forearm. "Be nice!"
"I am!" He laughed.
She sighed, "I guess you're right. Two squares isn't the most impressive thing in the world."
"Hmmm..." He pointed at some stars in the shape of an asterisk. "How about that one?"
"Mmm... I don't really see anything."
"It's a flower." He grabbed her hand and traced the pattern with her finger.
"Oh! I see it now!"
He snickered. As she continued to stare at the stars, he turned his head to her. He observed her and how pretty she was. He scanned her from her head to her toes with a smile on his face. He was completely enamored by her. This beautiful girl lay beside him. He thought about how he was originally flirting with her out of lust, but quickly, he fell for her. He had never met anyone quite like her. She was so kind, upbeat, and outgoing. She brought out a side of him that he didn't even know existed. She turned her head to him and noticed him staring.
"Hi," she spoke.
"Hey," he replied.
"Why are you staring at me?"
"I don't know."
"You sure?"
"I... Heh, I don't know that either." He chuckled nervously.
"I have to ask you about something you said."
"Oh?"
"It was, uh... something you said when you were drunk."
His eyes widened, and his heart sank. "Oh..." He didn't remember what he had said to her.
"You told me... Well, you told me that you liked me."
"..." He stared at her in bewilderment.
"What did you mean by that?"
"Oh, well, um..." He looked up at the sky and gulped. "I, uh..." He took a deep breath and sighed. "Hazel... I like you. I like your eyes. I like your smile. I like the way you talk. I like the way your voice sounds. I like how you get excited over the smallest of things. I like how you squeak and hop around when you're happy. I like that you're resilient and don't give up when things get challenging. I like that you're authentically yourself no matter what. I like it when you come around, and I like it when you're there. I like that you treat me like a normal person. I like that you worry about me, like when it was raining and you were worried I'd get sick. I like that you're a bit assertive with me. I like that we call and talk on the phone every day. I like how soft your hands are, and I like when you let me hold them. I like it when we hug. A-a-and I liked it when we kissed. I like that you make me nervous but you also make me calm.
I like you, Hazel. I really, really do."
Hazel was smiling with tears in her eyes. "Wow, Theodore... That's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me."
He sat up. "I just," he sighed, "I don't want to rush things. I don't want to get my heart broken, and I surely don't want to break yours. I guess, in a way, I'm afraid. I already feel like I don't deserve you, like you're too good for me. You're such a genuinely sweet and good person, and well... To be honest, when I first met you, I was only flirting with you to get lucky. And before I met you, I was basically an alcoholic. I drank before work, after work, in the morning, and before bed. I stopped drinking as much once we started talking. I'm still working on getting my drinking under control. I'm short-tempered and nasty. There's so many horrible, horrible things about me that you haven't seen yet. So many things that make me feel like I shouldn't be doing this with you." Theo sniffled and wiped a tear from his eye.
"Theodore, look," Hazel sat up, scooted next to him, and gently grabbed the side of his face to make him look at her. "I like you, too. I like how nervous you get. I like that you're pushing through that nervousness for me. I like that you care about me. I like that you try to help me out with my business. I like that you make time for me when you're so busy. I like your smile. I like your laugh. I like that you're so silly and goofy. I like that you're truthful with me. I like that you told me about all that.
But you know what I don't like? I don't like how hard you are on yourself. I don't like that you seem to think that you're such a horrible person. I don't like that you see all the good things in me but none of the good things about yourself. There are bad things about me, too. Things you haven't seen yet. Things that you're probably not going to like, things that I don't even like.
I think you're good enough for me. Matter of fact, I think you're even better than that. Come here."
She pulled him in for a hug. He sniffled again and shed a few silent tears into her shoulder. She pulled back to see that he was crying. She put her hands on his cheeks. "No tears," she said ever so softly. "I like you, too. Okay?"
He nodded and took a deep breath. "Okay."
She hugged him again and rubbed his back. She felt his whole body relax in her arms. He felt her shiver slightly and pulled back.
"Are you okay," he asked worriedly.
"I'm fine, I'm just a little cold." She smiled and shrugged.
He took off his jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders. "Here."
"Oh, no, no," she tried to stop him.
"No, you're cold."
"But you'll-"
"Hazel." He looked her in the eye. "You need this more than I do."
She smiled and blushed as she put her arms through the sleeves of the jacket. "Are you sure you'll be okay?"
"I have a pretty good cold tolerance. I'll be fine."
They laid down side by side with their hands clasped together, their fingers intertwined. Hazel felt incredibly warm and safe with his jacket around her. She leaned her head on Theodore's shoulder as they continued to stargaze. They continued to point out silly shapes they noticed in the stars and gave them even sillier names. As the night continued on, things got quiet. Theo got a little concerned. He looked over to see that Hazel had dozed off on his shoulder. He smiled and snickered. He nudged her gently with his elbow to wake her up. She slowly picked her head up. Her eyes were squinted with confusion.
"Hey," he spoke under his breath.
"What happened," she muttered.
"You fell asleep."
She shot up. "Oh, my gosh! I'm so sorry!"
He sat up and laughed. "It's okay."
She covered her face in embarrassment. "I'm not usually up this late." She huffed. "I'm usually in bed super early so I can wake up early for the cafe."
"Do you wanna go home?"
"No! I mean, yeah, but..."
"Want me to take you home?"
"No, I'll call a cab this time. Thanks, though."
"Come on," he stood up and held his hand out. "I'll walk you to the street."
She grabbed his hand, and he helped her up. They walked slowly through the park with their hands held. Hazel was so flustered, she couldn't believe she fell asleep on him during their date! Theodore thought it was absolutely adorable that she felt safe enough with him to fall asleep on his shoulder. He wasn't at all mad. As they strolled towards the street, Theodore stopped her and leaned on a tree. He grabbed her other hand and held both of them.
"Why are we stopping?" She was incredibly confused.
Theodore's heart was racing. His legs were weak and felt like they could give out at any moment. With a nervous smile, he asked,
"Hazel... Will you be my girlfriend?"
Hazel's eyes grew wide and she gasped.
"Oh... My... Gosh!!!" She jumped up and down with her hands still in his. "Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! YESSS!!!" She let out a small squeal before she yanked him into hug, still hopping around and giggling in joy. When they pulled away from the hug, she grabbed the back of his head and kissed him deeply. She started to giggle and hop around again, her hands on his shoulders, his hands on hers. Her cab pulled up, and she looked at it before kissing him again.
"I have to go," she said with a giant smile.
"Yeah. I'll see you."
"Bye!" She pecked him on the lips one more time. "I'll call you tomorrow, okay?"
"Okay. Go home, go to bed." He pat her on the shoulder as she ran towards the cab.
He watched her run off with a giant smile on his face. She couldn't see it, but his face was beet red. He was so happy she said yes. He couldn't believe he finally worked up the courage to ask her. After the conversation they had before, he finally felt secure enough. He was a bit anxious, but he had to take the chance. And he was so glad he did.
That night, Hazel had trouble sleeping. She was suddenly struck with energy and excitement after he asked her out. She paced around her bedroom for a good hour before she settled down to sleep. She realized she forgot to give him back his jacket in her fit of exhilaration. But it was so soft and warm, and it smelled like him, too. She finally laid down, falling asleep while wearing his jacket.

My argument as to why the mysterious letter is definitely Gaster.
Okay, now I’ve had time to drink it all in/actually do things for valentines day, I’m ready to make my argument as to why the mysterious letter is definitely our boy Gaster. I’ve been of the mindset that he’s a goofy old man for a long time, and I’ve always wanted to make a video essay to explain my point of view but I've never had the time. This newsletter gave me the push to write this ‘quick’ summary  though. Feel free to fight with me in the notes.
First of all, I am aware that the Japanese version uses Hiragana instead of his normal Katakana. I barely understand English, so I can’t even begin to understand the importance of it. It is my biggest foil, but I don’t think it affects things too much.
My first, easiest bit of evidence, is the fact that Toby has already removed the letter, leaving only this.
Tumblr media
He does this constantly with Gaster stuff. He did it with the tarot cards, he did it with abc123a.ogg. The moment someone posts something online, he removes evidence of its existence. Suspicious, is it not?
Okay, let’s break the letter down shall we?
Tumblr media
This is in line with a lot of things we already know about WDG. Most likely in Wingdings, we have hints in Sans’ lab and the true lab that his handwriting is impossible to read. We don’t know any of these are 100% him, but it makes sense that it would be difficult to read unless you were determined enough to do so (I assume that is what ‘squint your heart refers to?).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are multiple people who know what the ‘delta rune is’, but here to me he is clearly discussing the game, not the prophecy. The only person to ever have interest in our opinions of the experience is the ‘other him’, when he introduced us to the survey program. He also talks in short sentences, Like he does in the initial goner sequence, and pretty much everything else.
Tumblr media
Okay, so this is something that has plagued my mind for a while, but this has brought it to the forefront. I assume here that he’s referring to Dess being stuck in the code, or whoever it is (See here https://forum.melonland.net/index.php?topic=68.0). I’ve always been of the mind that Gaster genuinely wants to help, partially because of the eggs and partially because he seems to want you to win. He wants you to stop the roaring. I have a bunch of theories about this that probably deserve their own video, but here’s a quick summary:
If you name yourself Suzie in the goner maker scene, he says:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As far as I know, he doesn’t say this for anyone else, including ralsei, so he clearly has some kind of positive opinion of Suzie. Why would he say this if he was an antagonist to the fun gang?
When you die in the game and press no on the continue screen, the song ‘darkness falls’ plays (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSn4p1Xx7NU&ab_channel=Palpe). While definitely having Gaster’s leitmotif for starters, Just listen to how melancholy it sounds. It gives me the same bittersweet vibes that it’s raining somewhere else gives me. If this is a reflection of how Gaster feels when you give up, then he’s definitely a bit bummed that you failed.
Someone is clearly helping the secret bosses. While most people assume that he is doing it for some kind of nefarious purposes, I think he was genuinely trying to help, and it backfired.
Anyway, back to the letter.
Tumblr media
There’s a lot of connections between forgetting and Gaster. Fanon dictates that he’s been completely erased from everyone’s memories, but I don’t want to rely on fanon here. The first thing that comes to mind is obviously ‘Don’t forget’ plastered all over deltarune, which is what I assume he means when he calls it ironic, but that isn’t specifically tied to him. What I do think of however, is goner kid. I’ve already put enough images in this bad boy, but he says "Have you ever thought about a world where everything is exactly the same...Except you don't exist? Everything functions perfectly without you...Ha ha... The thought terrifies me." We know so much about how the goners are connected to him, I’m not gonna re-go over it here. Someone also mentioned the Spamton sweepstakes “AREN'T YOU FORGETTING SOMETHING?” on the ice page, which could also be relevant here. Is there any other character linked to forgetting as much as he is?
Tumblr media
Okay, now for my most dubious point (sue me I’m not an actual theorist). But… Doesn’t this give you old man papyrus vibes? It’s goofy, It’s in all caps, it puts a smile on my face. To quote my friend outside the fandom, “It’s giving old man texting his grandchildren for the first time”. I know this is one of the biggest contradictions for people, claiming that it’s out of character for gaster to speak like this, but I give exhibit A, from the legends of localisation book:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Ripped directly from https://www.tumblr.com/gasterofficial/715722490333298688?source=share)
I’ve always loved this. It’s probably not canon, but it’s goofy as hell. It was one of the first things that made me want to do a video on my “gaster is a good dude” ideas. It’s the exact same vibes as the letter.
So what do you think? I could definitely go into more detail about all of this, if people are interested. I just saw something that helped fuel my theories and had to put my opinions out there. Please don’t murder me in the notes for going against the antagonist gaster grain I am very sensitive okay good by!

Jk's solo career will definitely not be the same post military at least in America. Jk didn't release anything of substance to make the industry interested in waiting for him. The industry will just move on to someone else and jk will be a 1 hit wonder. Jk basically just put out jb reject songs that weren't even written for him as an artist and called it a day. Jk's artistry consists of him copying other well known artist. One of the big differences between jk and jm is the fact that jm continues to learn and grow as an artist and jk refuses to do so. Jk just don't seem to understand what it takes to actually be huge pop star that he wants to be.
They want the actual gp (not stan twitter) to take to him because it’d surely be less expensive to upkeep, but it doesn’t look like it’s happening.
Jk, Scooter and Bang have a very rudimentary and outdated grasp on what being a pop star is. They’re so invested in making him a carbon copy of all the male soloist that came before him because they think there’s some formula to this, that they’re missing exactly what made bts special in their first place. They were different. They weren’t your typical boyband. If he would’ve stuck to bts’ core values as musicians and just carved out his own identity like the other members did, I genuinely do believe he could’ve made a great debut album. That’s why it grated on my nerves that he’s so stuck on this “cool guy, being mature equates to sex” mindset. It’s so childish. All the focus on the numbers aspect of being a pop star and none of the artistry. Outside of armys who eat up anything he puts out and the superficial fans who are just in it for the image, he’s never gonna have any lasting impact.

I'll make it challenging, if you don't mind: what are your headcanons about your favourite underrated character?
it could've been Ranrok post but as the request goes for the fave,
imelda reyes headcanons post - 6 it is
Imelda Reyes: >>>1 || >>>2 (nsfw) || >>>3 || >>>4 || >>>5 Poppy Sweeting: >>>1 || >>>2 || >>>3 Imelda x Poppy headcanons: >>>1 || >>>2 || >>>3 || >>>4
Once again raising my head from the Brainrot fog to share some character headcanons with the world. Brainrot is a fic I’m working on.
Brainrot: being an alma mater for so many witches and wizard, Hogwarts has been surrounded by lots of unspoken rules and customs set by the students themselves. Are You A Herbology person or Are You A Potions Person are one of the many pairs of rather polarising questions, because to many people, the division makes perfect sense; thus it is expected for a student to try and dissect all the implications and then choose their own leaning -- fit into a narrative. In that regard, Hogwarts is the same with muggle schools; for us, math classes and literature classes may seem polar opposites as well, at least where I live this myth is still nurtured;
Imelda takes things like this rather seriously. Anything that can help her to evaluate a person comes from the position of being the captain for the House's Quidditch team, not to mention her being introverted and cautious due to how other people perceive her, but she also has a some deal of superstition. That's also why she chose Divination for electives;
That being said, Imelda doesn't enjoy Potions as much as she does Herbology. She's a Herbology person;
A potion requires a cauldron, and each of these are things of their own two capricious minds. A mood can ruin a brew. A bad cauldron can rock any potion to sleep -- but cal also help to awaken it. A good cauldron can still ruin the perfectly agitated potion because you aren't paying enough attention to each or even stuck your head in the clouds -- yet your standmate would have the same equipment and the same mindset, but their brew is perfect while yours is sludging away on the floor. Imelda hates to have her eyes and brains dead set on controlling so much shifts in variables, nor she can understand how a cauldron can be semi-sentient, neither she comprehends potions as equally sentient entities;
Plants are easier. Perhaps, because plants are living creatures and therefore grounded enough to understand the limits of the poor human's comprehension for magical whimsy and caprice aka plants needn't moms and pops as much as potions do. They're like brooms. All they require is to be watched after but not actively made into something else; some of them make great pets, too;
Imelda has a few plants sitting beside her bed in the dorm room. Other plants are vines and envelop the room, running on the walls and hanging from bed posts, almost turning it to look perfect to an average Hufflepuff's liking;
Not to mention gardening is the best activity to switch from the skies to earth. It helps Imelda to think and collect herself after training so much.

Do you think Megumi's lack of confidence is also propelled by Gojo's expectations of him? I know we didn't get much insight to how their dynamic is before the main story, but the glimpses we've had and the recent event in the phantom parade game really honed in on Gojo's 'tough love'. Now I have no idea whether or not Gege is heavily involved with the script but the snake god event seems to really highlight Megumi struggling against Gojo's standards for him.
I must clarify though that I don't play the game (sadly I don't understand Japanese and I have to use vpn to play it apparently), I've only seen ss with translations so I might be exaggerating the gravity of said 'pressure'. But the end scene really stuck with me and I think it perfectly encapsulates how I hc their relationship.
Basically, Megumi, after exorcising the curse all by himself got back to Ijichi and Gojo. Upon finding out that Gojo had been asleep in the back of the car all this time he was disappointed that Gojo didn't even witness the exorcism (I personally think he kept watch 😭). Which sucks cause in context, he offered himself as sacrifice because it was kinda Gojo's plan. And when Gojo finally emerges he tells Megumi that he probably could've done better, with Megumi replying he can't do it like him. The scene ended on a positive note though with Gojo saying in a hopeful tone that someday Megumi will be able to do it.
This scenario made me wonder if the entirety of Megumi's life he felt inadequate because of this kind of teaching method. Not that I blame Gojo cause Megumi does need that push. But I can totally see this as a factor to his insecurity over his own abilities as well.
Omg yes. Thanks for sharing these details btw!
And consider this... Combine Gojo's teaching methods with Megumi's self-doubt and inferiority complex around Gojo and you basically have a recipe for disaster because Megumi learned to place a glass ceiling over his head because, in his head, he could never surpass Gojo. He's already decided he's going to loose without giving it a shot.
Ironically, that mindset is exactly the kind of mindset Gojo is trying to teach him to not have, it's just that Megumi isn't receptive to Gojo's method of teaching because they ultimately have a different way of approaching goals. That's why I feel like Yuji is a much better fit for Gojo's teaching because they approach goals similarly.
Aside from that, I have to say their dynamic feels like Oedipus Rex with a Jungian twist. That's why right now, it makes sense that symbolically, Megumi is in a womb-like space. Not only did he metaphorically marry his mother (womb-like space) and killed his father (Gojo), he's now awaiting rebirth.
Something like that.
p.s. I am not one to hc that Gojo was a father figure to Megumi or Tsumiki. Quite the opposite actually. Gojo strikes me as someone who would be irresponsible and distant af lol. But he is the closest that Megumi has to a male authority figure (father archetype).

Breakin’ Dishes
C/w: Breaking dishes, unhealthy behavior, dubcon (?), manipulation, Stockholm Syndrome (?), married shenanigans, hair pulling, the dom here is short for domestic (LOL), fluff (?)
A/n: So I was listening to Breakin’ Dishes by Rihanna lately, and I think I wanna write about a brat. So this is kind of a scenario based on the imagine I wrote a day ago.
Masterlist | Lore
It was a mistake on your husband’s part, leaving you all alone at home like this.
THUNK! TINK! CRASH!
You throw another dish onto the floor, watching it break into a thousand pieces with a demented grin on your face. Shattered pieces join the rest of the broken porcelain.
You’ve been at this for the last thirty minutes. Why? Well, for one, you were stuck inside your house without a single key to get outside.
You've already tried the windows, throwing a chair at each one. Multiple times. They were fitted with reinforced ballistic glass, the same kind of material the government uses for cars transporting presidents. Courtesy of your stupid, controlling husband.
You have always been an indoors kind of person, but secondly you were spiraling from the lack of entertainment. No TV, no phone, no tablet, no computer–not even a game console.
“Those will pollute your mind,” your husband said, before he chucked them into the garbage can outside.
Yeah right.
You had to admit you understand the mindset for everything else, considering how controlled public information by the AI and whatnot, but as for the game console, your stupid husband was just jealous over your obsession with some handsome-looking enemy boss in one of your video games. You know it!
Remembering how much money you saved up to buy those games all going down the drain makes you chew on your bottom lip in frustration. The more you think about this injustice, the more the flames inside of your roars. You snatch some more dishes from the cupboards and smash them before stomping on the ground, wherever was clear of shattered porcelain, multiple times as you shriek your lungs out to the living room.
“I HATE YOU! I FUCKING HATE YOU! I'M GONNA DIVOR-”
“(Y/n)?”
Your voice leaves you as you slowly turn towards your beloved husband, who has just gotten home from grocery shopping. He sets the grocery bags down on the kitchen counter and comes over to wrap his arms around you.
You make a show of keeping your hands on his chest and pushing him away, but he knows you're just frustrated with him right now with how much strength you're putting into this. Much different from when he initially trapped you in this house. He has a little scar on the underside of his left jaw, from when you swiped at him with your nails.
He smiles at your cuteness and leans down to get his ‘welcome home’ kiss. You turn away. He shifts his head, and you turn again.
“Sweetheart?”
You turn your head again.
“(Y/nnnn)~ Gimme kiss. Kiss kiss.”
“Mm mm!” you hmphed, continuing to evade his kissing attempts.
“(Y/n). Give. Me. My kiss.”
“N-nyo! No kisses for you, stupid.”
He gathers all of your hair with one hand and pulls taut, forcing you to be still. Your eyes widen in shock before giving him a very displeased expression. That hurt! Now you definitely won't get any kisses! your face seems to say.
You can tell he's trying to keep a serious expression on his face, by the trembling of his lip and quirk of his brow, before it eventually breaks out into a grin and a chuckle. He pecks you on the lips before resting his forehead against yours.
“I love you, (Y/n),” he whispers, eyes full of adoration for you.
“I don't,” you snap.
He jerks at your hair, a warning. His smile stays on his face, but his eyes become a bit darker. “Hey… that's not nice, sweetheart. Say it back.”
“Say what back?”
His other hand playfully slaps your butt, making you flinch and almost moan before you swallow it immediately.
“Say you love me back, sweetheart.”
Of course, you love him. He's your YAN, literally designed for you to love and be loved by. Eternally. Everything he does is to win your affection. To understand you in all the ways another human couldn't possibly do. His existence depends on you.
But with the house arrest and destruction of your prized possessions, you're feeling less inclined to follow his whims.
“You love me back, sweetheart,” you repeat.
He chuckles and closes his eyes, shoulders quivering, before throwing his head back in laughter. Once he calms down, he presses his forehead against yours again, letting go of your hair to pull you close into a very tight hug.
“I do love you. So so much. I love you I love you I love you I love you. You know that, right?”
You purse your lips. “Yesh?”
“You know I had to throw it all away. I can't have your mind be eaten away by… indecency.”
Ah, so he knows what he did wrong but he's not apologizing.
“What? All of my games are PG-13!” you retort.
“One of them wasn't… What was it? Gold Seelie?”
“Golden Sphere,” you correct him. “Only because of the violence. It's not like I was going to turn violent and start killing people!”
“Oh… Really?” he teases, looking over your shoulder, most likely at the broken dishes on the floor.
“Your fault,” you spit.
He scoffs. “Sweetheart, we're both adults,” he says with a condescending tone. “You shouldn't be blaming others for your tantrum.”
“Your fault,” you insist, crossing your arms.
"(Y/n), we both know that's not true."
"....."
He hums, contemplative. “M’kay. My fault. I'm sorry, (Y/n).”
“For what?”
“I'm sorry for taking away your video games.”
“And?”
“And?” he repeats, confused.
You struggle to turn yourself around his tight embrace, facing away from him with your back to his front. Those who get it, get it. Those who don’t, don’t get any kisses. “Hmph!”
“I'm sorry for… taking away the TV and all of the other electronics?”
That isn't it. “Hmph!”
“I'm sorry for… locking you in the house? It's for your own safety, sweetheart.”
You still feel annoyed at that, but that's not it either. “Hmph!”
“(Y/nnnn). Give me a hint. Please. I can't stand it when you're mad at me and I can't do anything about it.”
You sigh. “... Stupid, we're married, aren't we?”
“Yes? Happily, I hope?”
“And married couples are supposed to do everything together…”
You could practically hear a lightbulb go off above your husband, much to your satisfaction.
“Ohhh. Were you lonely at home without me? Did I take too long? I'm sorry, (Y/n). Must’ve been boring at home without me. I’ll take you with me everywhere from now. I love you~”
He litters several kisses on the back of your head and neck. You giggle from how they tickle, grabbing onto his arms.
“Hey,” he pauses, “You still haven't said ‘I love you’ back yet.”
You hum playfully.
“(Y/nnnnn).”
“Hehe, I love you,” you finally said, turning your head to give him a kiss.
----------
[Extra]
You push the broom and dustpan into his hands. “Your fault,” you state.
He chuckles, taking the items out of your hands. “I know. I’m sorry. Anything for you as long as you don’t divorce me.”
You purse your lips and squint your eyes, humming contemplatively.
A look of horror appears on his face. “S-sweetheart!?”

Ask meme: Rodimus (idw)
one aspect about them i love: Rodimus has this really fascinating combo of being extremely unselfaware in the moment and then excruciatingly self aware after the fact that you can dig into a lot if you feel like it. That really horrible sense of 'I know I keep fucking it up but I can't actually manage to STOP it' which I think explains a lot about him. There's an idea of like, just knowing about the problem isn't enough to fix it. The trap of self awareness is that you can get stuck in a position where you see the problem and how it IS a problem, but you mistake that for actually making progress on it, which I think is where Rodimus is at when we start MTMTE, and it's… a very frustrating place to be in. And because he's surrounded by people firmly in the 'that's just how he is and we Manage him' mindset, he has very little obvious motivation to try and approach it from any other mindset. Yes all this is a GOOD thing, I love him.
one aspect i wish more people understood about them: Rodimus is not just accidentally callous, though he can be. He is absolutely inclined to genuine pettiness and even cruelty. Any version of Rodimus which assumes he is only ever accidentally cruel is, to me, an incomplete one. He's a very compassionate person deep down, but that's just why that inclination towards pettiness bothers him. I think it's really important that this be something he has to work against- because when he does work against it, that means something.
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character: Rodimus partly has so much antagonism towards Whirl because Whirl is terribly good at seeing through Rodimus' bullshit and when he wants he can cut Rodimus down with absolute precision. We actually see Whirl be quite astute about Rodimus a couple of times in canon and it just seems like he'd be very willing to deploy a frustratingly on-point observation of Rodimus' worst issues when it pleased him. Usually even when people do call Rodimus out, they don't do it correctly, they see an issue but not the correct origin point under all his posturing- but Whirl does, and Rodimus deeply resents him for it. For this exact reason, they would be shockingly good friends under other circumstances, in their own way.
one character i love seeing them interact with: Magnus! I fucking love their s1 interactions. I love that there's a sense of them having known each other before and how even though they're so antagonistic, they still demonstrate a sort of frustrated familiarity with each other. Rodimus always feels like he's the only one on board with the context to know Mags is acting out of character during the early issues, and Magnus is one of the only people in the comic to ever seem like he expects more of Rodimus sometimes. Their interaction at the start of 'The Sound of Breaking Glass' is one of my favourite in the whole series, when they discuss Rodimus wanting to change, and how Magnus thinks maybe it's a good thing Tyrest's portal broke. Or the bit after Overlord, where Rodimus talks about why he was ignoring Magnus' memos, and we see Magnus had tried to get Rodimus' help with his breakdown. They're almost... resigned to being a little more honest with each other? I love them.
one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more: Rung. I love the bit we get in the aforementioned post-Overlord scene, where Rung reads Rodimus bang to rights and at first Rodimus gets angry, but later is like. Yeah, you were right actually. I appreciate the honesty. Come help me out on Luna-1? Like, it's such a telling scene. Rung understands Rodimus in some ways and completely doesn't in others, because he knows what Rodimus' real problems are but he doesn't understand Rodimus needs something other than gentle sympathy. And then I think Rodimus has the potential to be... surprisingly insightful about Rung's own issues, his loneliness. I can imagine him seeing through Rung's impartial front quite shrewdly. It would be an interesting dynamic.
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character: Rodimus is the only other person on the ship except Tailgate who is interested in Cyclonus' old Cybertronian songs and such. Because, well, he's interested in the "golden age", he wants to hear about a time before Cybertron was as he remembers it, i.e. on its way to being fucked. And Cyclonus remembers that time in a way that makes it sound better, the actual truth aside. He's very embarrassed about this fact and tries to cover it up under a layer of irony or whatever but he sometimes sidles up to Cyclonus at the bar after a couple drinks and. Prompts him. To talk about stuff. And just sort of tries to look bored even as he's listening. Cyclonus will ramble on without the need for much encouragement after he's had a few, it turns out.

Do you have any suggestions on sources to check out to understand American conservative ideology? I’m honestly trying to make a good faith attempt to understand it and why so many Republicans don’t seem to appreciate things that Democrats do for their income bracket (if they’re lower income) just bc of their stance on immigration? Like to me, Biden lowering bank overdraft fees matters more than immigration
Books, podcasts, articles, documentaries, anything!
I'll list out sources for you at another point but first of all, I think you're really misunderstanding how the conservative mindset works. You understand that people by and large vote on social issues and not economic issues right? That's why rich liberals vote for Democrats while poor conservatives vote for Republicans. The way it works is that the ethos of cultural conservatism is about preserving culture, and immigration changes the culture of a country and here's the key part, this applies even to people that aren't interacting with immigrants. They have to press 1 to get English sometimes when they call the pharmacy and that's enough to drive them up the wall! Moreover, the reality is that social liberalism is tied to education and also wealth, and the people who have less money are more likely to want to preserve what they do have, which in essence, is the "culture" of their nation.
Now, those people aren't going to vote Democrat anytime soon but the reality is that even during the peak of Stephen Miller putting kids in cages, Americans still didn't want to increase the amount of immigration, they just wanted the *visible* cruelty to stop, they're totally fine with welcoming asylum seekers into the country, giving them warm food and a hug, and sending them right back to where they came from. That's why Remain in Mexico helped Trump so much, Mexico did the dirty work of detaining and sending back migrants for the US like Turkey does it for the European Union, and the wealthier countries didn't have to get their hands dirty and their citizens often had no idea what was happening.
The issue that Democrats have right now with regards to immigration is that "elites," both Democrat and Republican, are more open to immigration than voters of either party although obviously Republicans are more opposed. Plus, liberals are opposed to high-skilled immigration from China and India in particular because Asian immigrants compete with them and their kids for education and jobs, like just look at how Democrats talk about how affirmative action negatively impacted Asian kids when it objectively did! Like, white women didn't benefit the most from affirmative action, that's a blatant lie.
The reality is that if only elites voted, the United States would be a center-left country but obviously it's not. Like, the huge negative reaction residents of blue cities are having to Republican (and Democratic!) shipping migrants up north is just so telling because it's very evident that Democrats don't want poor brown migrants who don't speak English around them, they just want to virtue signal about being pro-immigrant sanctuary cities without putting in the effort. That aside from the fact it's extremely obvious that most of the "asylum seekers" who show up at the southern border aren't qualified for asylum under international law, they're economic migrants, which is why people are demanding changes to asylum laws.
The reason that most non-white working class people still vote Democrat is because the Republican Party is extremely racist, with the exception of Black people and that's due to the history of slavery in this country. If Republicans toned down the racism even like 15% and stuck to racism against Black people and kept their mouths shut about Latinos and Asians, Republicans would get 40% of the Latino/Asian vote like Greg Abbott did in 2022 in Texas even if they likely wouldn't get to 60% like Ron DeSantis did in 2022 in Florida. And obviously, you understand as well as I do that if Republicans won 40% of the Asian and Latino vote nationwide, they'd get 400 electoral votes due to their also cleaning up among non-college white voters. Black people are 13% of the country and they can't carry Democrats without Dems winning over enough white voters and people are just allergic to admitting this fact.
All this in essence is why Democrats being reliant on rich liberals to pay for social programs they don't use is biting them in the ass. People with money, who are by and large college educated, simply don't want their taxes to go up, and to win non-college voters, Democrats have go right (on policy not just in terms of messaging) on cultural issues, primarily immigration, climate (no "green energy" or being mean to the oil/gas industry and fracking), and anything related to LGBT issues beyond "keep gay marriage legal" (even though nobody except like, Muslims in Michigan, is voting on LGBT issues one way or another). Abortion is the one "cultural" issue which helps Democrats but that's because kids are expensive and a huge undertaking especially if you don't want them, so it's still selfish and not really for the "greater good" that most people, including many Republicans, are pro-choice.
Moreover, Democratic donors and the "groups" (shadow network of activists, think tanks like the Center for American Progress, and Dem staffers who are well to the left of elected officials) don't want to move away from cultural liberalism since they skew wealthier than the general population and would rather talk about mincing the definitions of acronyms nobody uses and canceling student loans for the overeducated and downwardly mobile than public schools not letting kids take math classes and Medicaid negotiations because those issues don't impact them or any of their friends and families.
At the end of the day, the reason conservative ideology doesn't die out is because when push comes to shove, people prioritize their own self-interest. Obviously there are caveats and sometimes people opt to help others and society at large, but placing ourselves and our loved ones over the rest of the world is an intrinsic part of human nature and one that we need to understand if we're intent on changing society. Does that make sense?

tw csa mention / k!nk mention
Something that gets to me about the anti mindset is that it doesn't seem to be able to account for the fact that we might be reading age-gap stuff from the younger person's perspective. Why do they always assume otherwise? (Of course it's okay if you do, but for this post im talking about the other side).
The truth is, sexuality cannot be completely severed from childhood experiences. From what I've read, most kinks and interests develop alongside the rest of our personality(ies). This is very normal.
It is also very normal to engage in 'pleasure seeking' as a child. Something feels nice on your body, so you keep doing it. I started when I was about six, and every therapist I've talked to has said that is normal.
The age during which you start understanding your bonds and relationships to other people is also very important, and since it affects your development and the rest of your life, going back to those ideas and looking at them can be very healing.
So it makes sense why anyone would be interested in metaphorically 'going back' to those times in their lives and exploring what they didn't have words or capacity to understand back then. Real children do not have the capacity to understand or cope with sex. They are not ready, and it would cause them harm. Maybe it did cause you harm. Fictional children are not real children. Fictional children are an extension of our own inner child, a way for us to process what we couldn't then now that we are safe and have more control of our lives. It doesn't undo the harm, but it can help you sort it out and move on from it.
So yeah, all of this is even more important if you have been hurt. I write about the ages 6-12 a lot because that's around the time I was hurt. It's not that im 'stuck there' or 'fetishizing' it (you can't 'fetishize' your own trauma) - I am doing work there. I am reclaiming it there. I am making sure the needy little 12 year old in me is safe and happy.
But as for me and myself- I was still afraid. I might always be. For a long time I couldn't even approach sexuality. When I finally did it was talking to old men online, trying to get them to believe I was much younger than I was, playing with them and seeing what they would say. That was what felt safe. The only 'part' of me that felt safe being sexual was the part that was still a kid.
I don't cope like that anymore. I found a way that I like better, that is more under my control and is way less risky to myself and the potential people i was talking to. And that is writing fiction!!!!
Through fiction I can set up places where all of me feels safe (even if it might not look safe to you or would not be safe in the real world!). I can create scenarios where I can work through my fears, provide comfort and safety, and make a good place for my kid self to figure things out (and yes, get off).
And it has been helping! We've been feeling safer and more confident since we started writing, and we've learned so much about ourselves and how to feel safe.
I studied psychology for four years. There isn't really terminology for a 'bad coping mechanism'. There is the idea of maladaptive coping mechanisms, but here's the thing- what makes a coping mechanism maladaptive is wether it causes more harm than good in the person's life on a case by case basis.
The idea that a random stranger thinks they have the authority over your life and your unique psychology to tell you that you are hurting yourself with your coping mechanisms is ridiculous. No stranger online knows - or should know - the details of your trauma or life. They have no say in what is good for you. If you are worried something might be hurting you or holding you back, that is for you and maybe a trusted professional to figure out. It is certianly not for some squicked teenager or anyone else online to dictate.
Also, sexuality and brains are really complicated. You don't need trauma (or to remember it) in order to enjoy something. You're allowed to ship any ship for any reason. Bonus points if one of the reasons is because it makes you happy, because you deserve to be happy!
All ships are just roleplays. All fics are just scenes. When I write I put up tags to let people know what's in the scene. I hold on good faith that they are reading the tags, and they that I am not tagging incorrectly. I give them my scene, and if they at any point don't like what I'm doing, they stop reading. It is really very simple!!!
Finally, if you do have sexual trauma, you don't ever have to 'sterilize' it or be 'pure' about it. It's okay to have leftover feelings and kinks and interests that might seem backwards or not make sense to other people. You don't have to conform to a bullshit 'good survivor' image of some saintly person who put all that behind them and avoids avoids avoids like a pure little virgin mary.
You can look at it if you want to. You can pull it apart with your hands, you can reclaim it and get off to it if you want to, you can share it with consenting others and let them get off to it too. That is all okay and good. That is just being human. You are okay.

Hyde accusing Jackie of “threatening him” because she doesn’t want to be with a guy who doesn’t know if they have a future together is so immature.
Even with Eric & Donna’s breakup, I can see both sides and I’m not mad at either of them. Even where there were signs of them being incompatible, I was able to understand BOTH of them and sympathize.
But before Don't Lie To Me, HYDE is the one being a jerk and acting like a child. He promises Jackie that he’ll be at the LOPPs party then bails on the last minute and BLAMES HER. Then when Jackie calls him out on his immaturity, Hyde keeps saying that she’s overreacting.
Also Jackie wanting to know if they have a future is completely valid given that she’s going to be out of high school and out in the real world. She and Hyde have been together for over a year. It’s one thing for Hyde not to know, but he was being such a dick about it. He could’ve said ‘I don’t know. I want us to have a future but anything can happen’. But literally all the guy says is “i don’t know”.
While I understand why Hyde was unsure and has these doubts, especially given how he’s grown up. He should still be held accountable. Obviously just because Hyde has the Formans, WB, and Leo doesn’t mean things will be magically fine. But he has a hell of a lot of support than he did in season 1. He could just find a way to open up and obviously that would be a struggle, but he should at the very least make an effort.
So for him to accuse Jackie of “threatening” him because she doesn’t want to be stuck in a going nowhere relationship. And literally never seeming to change this mindset and making Jackie not talk about their future because of his own insecurities. Instead of just TALKING her, is pretty damn immature if you ask me. And once again, I understand why it would be difficult, but that shouldn’t be used as a shield of absolve responsibility. He should LEARN how to be more open about the future and talking about it.

Yandere mermaid (siren) x GN reader
Warning
Yandere behavior, Kidnapping, Unhealthy mindset
Background
You went to your grandparents house on your vacation.
That was located nearby sea, you can hear sounds of waves, winds, birdsongs.
It made you relaxed.
When you went to there, your grandparents told you watching out for strangers.
At that place, you were enjoying fishing with humming some songs.
But you didn't notice someone was hearing that.
First meeting
"What's that song? I love it!"
When you were humming as usual, someone talked to you.
Looking around, a woman was sitting on a rock.
And, is she a mermaid!?
You were suprised and tried to run by embarrassing.
"Don't escape from me! I just want to be your friend"
You stopped and saw her face.
She seemed not to lie to you.
At first, you were wary of her.
But she was a great talker and shared same interests, you became friends.
The day you met her, enjoyed singing or talking.
Also, she could use magics, when she showed that, it made you impressed.
Time had passed quickly, the day has come close for you to go back home.
At that time, you and her became bestie as if you were together from a young age.
You didn't want to leave her but vacation will end soon.
When you told her that, she was shocked.
And she went to somewhere, didn't come back.
It made you sad.
But you decided to forget her because you believed she could find someone better than yourself.
A few days later, you got on the ship and said goodbye to your grandparents.
At first, thanks to the nice weather, you were going smoothly.
But big storm came and people were in chaos.
At that moment, you could hear singing.
You knew that voice.
It's her.
You screamed and begged her not to do that, but it didn't work.
In the meantime, the ship was swallowed by the waves and sank.
You inhaled water and fainted.
After a while you woke up at cave.
"Oh, you woke up!"
She was there by your side.
"It's my cave! But it'll be ours."
She blushed but you couldn't understand.
"Why did you do that? Please let me go!"
"Don't struggle"
When she said that, you were stuck in your body.
It must be one of her magic.
"Humans I've met were terrible. They tried to kill or catch me."
Her eyes narrowed.
"Unlike them, you didn't do that but understood me. So I noticed you are my life mate."
She stroked your cheek and swooned.
In the past you wouldn't have cared, but now you dreaded it.
"Dear~, It's like a dream for us to be a family."
She kissed you passionately.
You can only accept your new life.

not Exactly slop. longass ramble about an art/creation thing that annoys me a lil
Alright, so.
My mentality on art/creation has kind of changed a lot in the past few years, I'd like to think it was for the better? I have a pal to thank for that change in mindset; osmosed that while he was giving advice to another friend of mine.
One of the biggest takeaways being: DO IT MAKE YOUR SHIT OR NO ONE ELSE WILL DO IT EVEN IF IT SUCKS YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS NOW OR IT WILL NEVER EXIST.
There's definitely a better way to phrase it, but that's the jist of it, right? Where am I going with this?
Well, it's something that's always kind of broke my heart art-wise in the past, but now it's something that I find myself growing oddly spiteful over nowadays?
That being: people who never try to do anything.
Once again, there exists MUCH BETTER, more empathetic ways to phrase this, but I'm spitting out thoughts and I'll continue to vomit them up until I feel this wall of text is sufficient enough.
(i do empathize with that though dysfunction suuuucks ass man)
Anyways, the focus of my attention isn't on dysfunction, but rather complacency. Getting stuck in a repetitive cycle that just Completely stunts artistic growth.
This mostly applies to a certain "genre" of person I've been exposed to in my life, and if by happenstance you know what I'm referring to, apologies if this hits close to home? I'm not saying anyone's gotta be pumping out Hyperdetailed Megashit Terabyte Masterpieces or anything, but pushing yourself every now and then is like, the only way you're gonna get better at something y'know?
Which is why in recent years, it's been annoying seeing these same people continue to rely on the same character creator tool for fuckin yeaaaaaaaaaaaaars man.
Like I understand using one to get an idea for a design, right? That's fine and dandy, more power to you. But if every single one of your character ends up looking Exactly The Same because there's like Only One Fucking Template it just ends up looking like this to outsiders.
Tumblr media
Of course this is neglecting if they're like, solely using them to commissioning others, so take it with a grain of salt.
It's such a benign thing to get pissed at yeah, but I won't lie! It just makes my skin crawl sometimes! Especially the specific character creator being used. I feel like I wouldn't mind as much if it were a picrew or Literally Anything Else.
maybe it's just the character creator i'm mad at then? dunno. at least it's not ai.
Point is, everyone can make art. It came free with your humanity.
Please don't squander that latent creativity in your soul by relying on these tools forever. You can make something, even if it seems impossible. Pick up a pencil. Chalk. Pen. Fucking ANything PLEASE for the love of god MAKE SOMETHING.
