Still have details to iron out but the bulk preparation for running Into the Wild Thunderclan through ClanGen is done! I need to tweak some sprites and mess around with relationships but really looking forward to starting the game and seeing how RNG decides to rewrite TPB.

Whisperingclan Year 1!
Introducing Whisperingclan! my very haunted clangen clan with a terrible leader!!
Tumblr media
I drew these guys MONTHS ago so this art is kinda old now T-T I finally am posting them tho...
I kinda want to draw more yearly updates but I may not draw every cat... it depends on how im feeling and how much time I have :P
...
Whisperingclan lives in the mountains next to the territory of their origin clan Roaringclan. Many of the clan founders were a part of a coup in Roearingclan to make Tempeststar, at the time Tempestwhorl, deputy or leader... they were instead defeated and banished.
The founders wandered together through the territories outside of the clans... as they drew nearer to the mountains they began to hear strange whispers on the wind. Following these whispers they found themselves deep in the mountains in a cave filled with crystals that seemed to whisper with a chorus of their Starclan ancestors.
That night they slept in the cave, and in her dreams Tempeststar was named a leader of a new clan, Whisperingclan, by Starclan themselves. The new clan now calls themself the clan closest to Starclan, and they have made their camp within the Whispering Cave claiming that they are its protectors and the only cats who can be trusted with it's power.
...
I am now continuing this clan's story with updates for each moon!
First Update HERE!
...
Below is each cat from the lineup + a description of their character and what they have done in the clan's first year!
Tumblr media
Tempeststar!
Tempest is a very cold and cruel cat who acts purely for her own gain and power, she HATES when others undermine her or disagree with her. She uses the fact that Starclan spirits guided her clan to the Whispering cave as proof that her new clan, and her as it's leader, is the most close to Starclan and must not be questioned no matter what. She doesn't truthfully care much about Starclan, beyond what they can do for her, but she likes to but on a devout follower act to get what she wants and come across as holier than thou.
So far Tempeststar's leadership has been filled with her "teaching" cats who stand up to her lessons by attacking them and forcing others to help her. These common demonstrations have lead to her almost always having injuries and the death of two clanmates. Ravenblur was the first to die, he had followed Tempest's orders in attacking his previous apprentice but succumbed to the injuries he sustained. Jaggedlark, the cat Raven had attacked, died next, her determination to call out Tempest needed to be stopped.
Tempest likes to find cats who she can manipulate and use to do her bidding, her original cat she used for this was Ravenblur, who was happy how maim and kill for Tempest. Now it is the ex-kittypet Creekslip (who was the one to kill Jagged) who is less enthusiastic about her unspoken job as attacker and executioner
Tempeststar also became mates with her deputy Blizzardchase and is now expecting their first litter! They are both very evil so their children will be very messed up im sure <3
Tumblr media
Blizzardchase!
Blizzard is a cocky cat, she is well aware of how strong and skilled she is and she is not afraid to make that known. She deeply respects Tempest and was one of the first cats to join her coup. Along with respecting Tempeststar, Blizzard also has big gay feelings for her and was NOT afraid to share this, she decided that evil woman would be her mate and she wooed her (probably with evilness) until she got Tempest to fall for her lol.
Blizzard hasn't been up to much this year other than normal deputy duties and being in love with her evil wife... she trained Mossleaf but managed to impart none of her attitude and outlook on life to the young cat. Blizzard is currently doting on her mate and is very exited to see her kits next moon.
Tumblr media
Bramblespeck!
Bramblespeck was not always a healer, she was a warrior in Roaringclan, but she joined Tempest's rebellion as she had always looked up to her... She was banished alongside everyone else and was the first cat to begin to hear the whispering, she was the one to lead the way to the cave and through this she realized she had been chosen to be the clan's healer.
Bramble has found her new job difficult as she only had warrior training, but luckily Frostfleck had plenty of healing knowledge that he could share with her. Frost has really been her saving grace this year as he always takes over for her when she gets injured, which seems to be quite often, she's so accident prone. Bramble is also super relieved that Whiskers joined the clan since they really needed another healer...
Tumblr media
Whiskers!
Whiskers is a cooky lady with a fascination for the stars and herbs. She began to hear the cave's whispers while wandering alone and followed them straight to a Whisperingclan patrol... after hearing of clan life she decided that being a healer would be the perfect role for her in life and asked to join the clan. The clan is wary towards letting in too many non-clan cats but they need more members and healers so they reluctantly agreed.
Whiskers can often be found staring wide eyed straight into the cave's crystals, studying the movements of the stars, or telling cats off for not properly respecting their ancestors.
Tumblr media
Creekslip!
The resident blorbo, absolute soggy sad beast... she is going to cat hell unless she stops this shit lmaooo
Creekslip has extreme abandonment issues and a fear of not being excepted, and left behind. Her twolegs abandoned her in the woods and left her to learn how to survive on her own, she's strong now, but she is desperate for a home. Creekslip joined Whisperingclan on their third moon, she felt a pull to this place after wandering the woods close to the mountains, she now questions every choice that brought her here, but she cant leave... she cant handle being alone again.
A moon into being in the clan Creekslip was given an apprentice, Sunpaw, as a chance to prove herself, but she became ill soon after, and Tempeststar took on much of Sunpaw's training. Creek could feel Tempest's judgement towards her... she failed at the first task she was given, and she was determined to prove herself to the clan and the leader. Tempest could sence this desparation and she saw the potential in it...
When Jaggedlark once again stood up to Tempeststar and Tempest called on Creek to aid her in teaching the young cat a lesson... Creek was desperate for a chance to prove herself and went through with it, she had too... Jagged died later due to the injuries Creek delt her... this haunts her. Despite this however Creek continues to be Tempest's new cat to call on to beat fear and submission into the clan. Creek is to fearful to stop, but she hates what she has now done, and continues to do.
Anyways I love her she keeps committing crimes but she is so sad :(
Tumblr media
Frostfleck!
He has Whitestorm vibes, but like if Whitestorm was a part time healer.
Frostfleck was a loner and joined Tempest's group before they found the cave and became a clan. He isn't into all the bad vibes of the clan but he likes the idea of being in a clan and having community, plus there are plenty of good folks in the clan and he choses to stick close to them. Frost has lots of knowledge in healing though he enjoys warrior duties more, he is an unofficial part time healer, and he takes over whenever they need more help in the healer den! (in game I make him a healer when i need more healers , these cats hurt themselves so often T-T)
Tumblr media
Skipspot!
My kind transboy, i love himb , I feel like he just joined the clan to make friends and have community.
he has barely done anything because he just joined the clan, but he has already befriended Sunmane and gave her advice on telling Mossleaf how she feels... ig I can thank this man for finally getting Sun to confess to Moss lol.
Tumblr media
Butterflyfreckle!
Butterfly is like the opposite of Creekslip, she was a kittypet but she chose to leave her home for adventure! She is confident in herself and is great at making friends, she keeps away from the bad parts of the clan and just enjoys herself. She has done pretty much nothing this year though hehe.
Tumblr media
Weedpatch!
Weedpatch was Tempeststar's apprentice and she convinced him to join her coup through this, he did so mostly out of fear and also because his cousin Jaggedpaw and her mentor had agreed to join as well... Weed always looked up to Jagged.
Both Weed and Jagged regretted their choices to follow Tempest, but it was too late, and they were facing the conciquences of decisions they made as dumb kids. Jagged became angry after the banishment, but Weed just became... quiet. He doesn't like to get involved in any of the clan conflicts, he stays by himself as much as he can with Tempest having been his mentor. He used to spend most of his time with Jaggedlark, she was his best friend, but then she was killed, he doesn't like to talk about Jagged anymore. These days, Weedpatch, living up to his name, copes with his trauma by being high on catmint half the time.
Tumblr media
Mossleaf!
Mossleaf was a kit in Roearingclan, the banished cats literally just stole her, she is actually the Roaringclan leader's daughter, hence the stealing, they wanted some vengeance. Roaringclan think Moss is dead but nope! She's just in the spooky cave cult!
Mossleaf is very aloof and strange, she likes to listen to the Whispers, and while most cant decipher them it seems like Moss might actually be able to hold a conversation with them. Bramblefleck thought Moss should become a healer but Tempest promised to give Blizzardchase the next apprentice available, despite this Moss doesn't seem to mind being a warrior though.
Moss became very close to the other apprentice at the time, Sunpaw and they became so close it seemed one could never be found without the other. They seemed to have crushes on each other from the start and it was no surprise when Sunmane confessed to Moss and they became mates soon after they both became warriors. I love them both sm they r cuties <3 (the not evil gays)
Tumblr media
Sunmane!
Sunmane is my favorite design... I love her lion mane and her bangs sm she is so CUTE
Sunmane joined the clan as a kit and before they found the cave. Her grandfather Flowermoon was trying to find a group to support them both, Sun's parents were gone and Flower was getting old... the strange group of cats was the best choice they had at the time.
Sunmane likes to stay positive and tries to lighten the mood with some jokes. Her apprenticeship was tough, and now that she is free from Tempeststar she is staying far away from her. She spends almost all her time chilling with her mate Mossleaf and trying to enjoy her life despite all the things that go down in the clan.
Tumblr media
Larkcaw!
Larkcaw is the starclan guide and was the main spirit to guide the cats to the Whispering Cave... she is evil actually, how did she get into Starclan??? I'm pretty sure the only reason she is in the good place is bec she didn't obviously do anything evil... she just plotted.
Lark decided to lead her great granddaughter Tempeststar to the Whispering Cave, she convinced other spirits that a clan living there would be a GREAT idea, despite the fact that it is actually very bad for cats to live in a cave full of that much Starclan energy. It can easily mess with a cat's mind, especially those with a stronger Starclan connection.
Larkcaw really just wanted control over a clan, and what better than making a new clan backed by a powerful Starclan source?
Tumblr media
Flowermoon!
Flowermoon is Sunmane's grandfather and became her caretaker after her parents died, he joined the group because he knew he needed cats who could care for Sun and him as well since he was getting old, he is unsure of his decision, Tempeststar is cruel, but he knows Sunmane has found friends and joy in the clan despite it all. Before his death Flowermoon spent much of his time telling stories to the kits and apprentices, he passed away of old age, and now watches over his granddaughter <3
Tumblr media
Jaggedlark!
Jaggedlark was Ravenblur's apprentice back in Roaringclan and due to this she had spent much of her apprenticeship around Tempest and her followers. She was convinced that the coup was a good idea and even played a role in convincing her cousin Weedpaw of the same thing. After the coup and subsequent banishment however, Jaggedpaw began to see the truth in what kind of a person Tempest was... she grew to despise the leader. Jagged became a warrior on the clan's first official moon, but Jaggedlark became even more confident in speaking out against Tempeststar's actions after this and this would sadly lead to her demise.
On the same moon that she became a warrior, she angered Tempest by questioning one of her decisions, Tempest called on Jaggedlark's own previous mentor, Ravenblur, to attack Jagged alongside Tempest to teach Jagged a lesson. Jagged would end up wounded from the fight, but not nearly as much as Ravenblur who died of his injuries a moon after... Jagged was devastated, her mentor had attacked and betrayed her trust, but she had killed him, didn't that make her just as bad?
A few moons later Jagged would end up being made an example of again when she began speaking out against Tempest even more than before, even questioning her place as leader... Jagged would die like her mentor, dying a moon later from blood loss.
Tumblr media
Ravenblur!
Ravenblur died almost immediately, but i hate him, I sent him the the dark forest >:)
Raven was one of Tempeststar's biggest followers (a Darkstripe to Tigerstar sort), he did anything Tempest asked of him, even attacking his own previous apprentice Jaggedlark. He is VERY mad that Jagged ended up killing him, he feels he deserved more from life... he wanted more power like Tempest and Blizzard, and Jagged took that away from him...

About Whisperingclan!
"the cave... it calls to us, we hear it's whispers on the wind. The voices they haunt us, they drive us insane..."
....
Hello all! I am Cryptid/Sam, I use they/he/she pronouns (pretty much any pronouns)!
My main Warriors blog is @cryptidclaw which is also where Whisperingclan started!
Whisperingclan started out with me posting a line up of designs for the whole clan at the end of year 1 + descriptions for the clan and the cat's backstories! This was inspired by the youtube trend of doing something similar but in video format.
After this however I fell in love with the clan and wanted to join in with everyone else doing moon-ly updates for their clans! originally I was just posting the updates on my main wc blog @cryptidclaw but I have decided to move Whisperingclan over to their own blog!
I will be rebloging all of the previous updates from my wc main over to here and will post all new updates here!
Master Post of all main updates!
Allegiances!
Family Tree!
Character Asks are OPEN! However I will only choose a few to answer sorry!

Clan Origins + Gameplay Summaries below!
~~Origins~~
Most of Whisperingclan's founders were a part of a coup in their origin clan, Roaringclan, to make Tempeststar, at the time Tempestwhorl, deputy or leader... they were instead defeated and banished.
The founders had wandered together through the territories outside of the clans picking up a few members along the way... as they drew nearer to the mountains they began to hear strange whispers on the wind. feeling compelled to follow these whispers they found themselves in a cave deep in the mountains filled with crystals that seemed to whisper with a chorus of their Starclan ancestors.
However... Is the Whispering Cave truly safe? can Starclan and their guide be trusted? Is the clan truly so holy? or are they simply greedy for power.
The Territories + all Clans intro!
....
Gameplay:
Playing on: Expanded Mode
Unmated cats can have kits
Same-sex breeding is on!
Leaders do not automatically chose their deputies
Experience-based graduation allowed
Cats can retire due to permanent condition (for now)
Warriors and elders can choose to become mediators
Occasionally I will do death rolls! (i do this whenever I feel like it- mostly for the plot)
How death rolls work:
Kits, Elders and the sick are close to the death and the Stars as they are weak. Due to this their spirits have the chance to accidentally travel to Starclan too early due to the thin veil between the living and the dead in the Whispering cave.
If i decide that the clan is getting too big I may roll for a chosen selection of cats, to see which of whom will die.
I will mostly use it to weed out some kits if there are too many babies.

new yap session lmao. also: watch my silly idea post turn into actual writing
SO i just had an idea and my few newfound follower count has got to tell me if this is good. so get this. (big warning for expand btw, like sorry)
there's a warrior clan in a cave setting ok. they are tigers. they have bioluminescent green pools inside and it's really cool like there's green glowy stuff everywhere. mostly algae but also glowworms and some other fungi.
basically the clan lives in a cave network and the main camp doesn't have any ponds for kit safety. HOWEVER all the clan's territory is confined to the cave network and all the hunting ground is littered with the bioluminescent pools. this is because in the caves, there's less land prey, so the clan has adapted to hunt fish and other animals in the pools (pending more research on animals that would reside there). this also fits because tigers are known to swim for hunting and also just for fun.
there are other clans--thinking a rainforest clan, a plains clan, and like... a treetop clan where their camp is in the actual trees [skyclan wishes they were them] and main clan only shares a border with rainforest and treetops. i think it would be set in thailand somewhere, broadleaf forests or rainforest
name ideas for all the diff clans welcome including the main one, here's what i have so far
algaeclan: would have to be changed once the bio came
glowclan: same as above
caveclan: bit basic? i like the alliteration tho
brightclan: ironic name until bio lol
darkclan: makes sense until bio
now that the logistics are over, time for story!
The bioluminescence in the pools is NEW. like the story prologue is when it begins and the first chapter is like a year or so in. before, they were just normal ass cave pools. obviously everyone's like wtf
cause this clan is not that new. it's at least gone through like 3 leads and a few founders lived in the caves before official clans were formed. so this has never been seen before in at least like 15 years.
so! everyone avoids the pools for a while and tries to hunt miscellaneous mice and spiders (temporary spiders georg clan) but it's not enough to feed the whole clan, it's just scraps. so the clan has to concede and start hunting from the pools.
the most proficient hunters, who dive the most, started feeling strange things. one day, about a half-moon after the clan started hunting pools again, Hawkwasp, one of the best hunters in the clan, didn't come back up from a dive.
The clan was really worried. the best hunters in the clan can hold their breath for 100 seconds at most, so dives are usually quite short. However, Hawkwasp was already down in the water for 10 minutes. no tiger can hold their breath that long, no matter how good a hunter they are.
after an hour had passed, another reputable hunter of the clan (Shineprance) dove to find Hawk despite her clanmates' protests. After around 30 seconds, Shine found Hawk--fully conscious and still hunting the pool. obviously she was relieved, but also confused. what could possibly allow Hawk to spend that much time underwater?
Through pawspeak (which everyone is taught from apprenticeship to both accommodate deaf clanmates and to speak underwater) Shine asked Hawk where he'd been. Hawk asked what she meant. after explaining that she'd been looking for her, Hawk questioned.. "how long have i been underwater?"
After bringing Hawk back to the surface, he confirms that she thought she'd only been down for a minute or so. after it was explained, he was greatly shocked and vowed to never dive again. she has only hunted spiders for the clan ever since.
Over the coming moons, more and more of the clan's best hunters stayed underwater much, much longer than usual. the longest run was around 5 hours. it is quickly realized that something about the bioluminescent algae and plants gave tigers the ability to breathe underwater. The tigers affected, only 5 warriors including Hawk, began to form subtle green gills around the neck/shoulder area. their paws, claws and muzzle areas started to taint green. Some reported pain in the upper stomach.
Despite these concerning effects, the leader and deputy went over the head of both the clan's nurses and encouraged the continuation of using the newfound power. the clan had fallen on tough times before, and they wren't going to prevent hunting from the pools again if it meant they went back to that.
slowly, growths start forming on the tigers affected. algae and moss for one, mushrooms for others, and glowworms for one. Hawkwasp is the only one with spiders. all the affected tigers' eyes turn slightly more green with each passing day.
Before the bioluminescence, the clan relied on small skylights for light from the sun and moon, but now that it's here the skylights have gradually started closing up. no one knows if the entrances, or more importantly exits to the caves will be next.
the affected have started acting.. strange. not like themselves. They've started disappearing into the pools for far longer than when it first started. it began with hours, but they're turning into days. the affected have no sense of time down there. the leader and deputy have instructed no one to go after them--they wouldn't want to obstruct their hunting.
The nurses of the clan attempt to recommend that each tiger dives with at least one other tiger, but the deputy and leader have overrided that and anyone except apprentices may dive alone.
Hawkwasp has not dove since the first incident. However, he still experiences the same symptoms as the other affecteds. It seems that as long as they still dive, every affected tiger will continue to undergo the symptoms. Hawkwasp has grown increasingly aloof, only communicating with clanmates when necessary. Most of the time, she can be found wandering the caves, skirting pools carefully and chasing the spiders that are not already scattered across her pelt.
No one knows what the affected tigers do down there, in the pools. some tigers think they're just hunting. some think they're encountering creatures of the deep. some think they're exploring their new home.
notes: i am SO so inspired by @clanborn, i think their writing and new concepts for the clans are amazing. thanks so much :)

regarding various ideas thatve been discussed here, my vision is like
After the whole “seriously considered murdering him” bit in sunset, Firestar demoted Brambleclaw and made Brackenfur deputy. Cardboard cutout of a man
Initially Jay is brightheart’s apprentice, Holly is Leafpool’s, lion is brackenfur’s
In a battle that makes Jay and Holly change their minds (for Jayfeather I feel like I would want him to have some kind of arc about internalised ableism,, like he has to learn a nuanced lesson about how he doesn’t need to be productive by the standards of clan culture and it’s okay for him to acknowledge his limits and choose a different path, but also his clanmates should allow him to define his limits and not treat him like he’s made of glass. I digress) - in the battle where Holly and Jay change their minds, Brackenfur Freaking Dies and only now is bramble deputy. I think I’d want firestar to die earlier too so we can get shitty bramblestar + the most depressed squilf you’ve ever seen
Now we’ve got Jay as Leafpool’s apprentice, Holly as ashfur’s, and lion as brightheart’s because man I always felt bad she never got an apprentice again
and with this setup I would want basically everything to be significantly more fucked up. Ashfur exacerbates Hollyleaf’s fixation on the code and power (foreshadowing tbc??), I’d want Lionblaze to like, accidentally hurt somebody really badly in training and have to grapple with feeling like a monster more. Maybe instead of Cinderheart falling out of a tree, Lionblaze accidentally injures her
Speaking of cinderheart I want her to do some of the stuff poppyfrost does I love poppyfrost but having cinderheart narrowly escape death and feel strangely drawn towards the moonpool would be a lot more fun - I think I’d frame her being cinderpelt as something that was either accidental, or intentional but StarClan was in the wrong for not letting cinderpelt rest because I really resent the idea that cinderpelt needed a second chance at life as if the life she lived after becoming disabled wasn’t a good and worthwhile one
So yeah cinderheart is possessed by a restless ghost, lionblaze can’t stop hurting people no matter how hard he tries, hollyleaf is just regular hollyleaf but more, jayfeather… I dunno maybe make StarClan genuinely scared of him because of how much his power allows him to defy them. Maybe he feels detached from himself and is almost constantly dissociating because he spends so much time walking in dreams and other peoples minds. I don’t know I don’t like jayfeather
ALL THIS. And then have your thing about dove and ivy being cinderholly kits also be true do you see my vision do you understand . I am so sorry about the length of this I got carried away
I AM EATING ALL OF THIS UP BIG YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i always wished jaypaw's first battle with shadowclan was what got him to change, like it's this big awakening to what clan culture is really like. he gets the shit kicked out of him and he's like "wow. this sucks. why is everyone making this sound so great"
and big big BIG yes with cinderheart, i feel she deserved some better meat than what po3 and oots was throwing her. these are lovely i am LOOKING

Oh, Strangepaw's younger siblings, would in fact, tell tall tales about him to spook the other kits because they thought it was hilarious.
They claimed that his claws were as big and tough as a badger's, his orange eyes glowed in the dark, and he would bury you in the earth with nothing but your head poking out, all while laughing as the earth swallowed you whole leaving nothing but your bones.
The ringleader of these stories is undoubtedly Rook'kit, an albino kitten who causes mischief simply for the thrill of it.
Then we have Ravenkit, Spiderkit, and Bonekit.
Wither would tell them off in front of the queens but when the coast is clear and they're gone she'd wink at her kits and give them a nice noogie. We know where Rook gets it from.
Dimsong when Strangepaw leaves almost doesn't want him to come back but not for any negative reasons. They've seen how happy Rock Dove makes Strangepaw and how much happier Strange is because of it.
Rock Dove made Strange not feel like an outcast and had someone to relate to.
Whilst they yearn the return Dimsong will count the days slowly and wants to enjoy the happiness in knowing Strangepaw will always have someone by his side.
(It's also kind of a guilt thing because Dimsong and Wither felt like they didn't do enough when they did in fact, do above and beyond and trained Strangepaw themselves when everyone else didn't step up to do it.)
RookKit making StrangePaw out to be this massive, towering, slobbering monster that looks like if a mole, a rat, and a cat fused together when in reality StrangePaw looks like an old dog toy and is so so cold
That's sweet as hell with DimSong, Dim realizing that StrangePaw just isn't happy with Clan life and being happy the more that StrangePaw is away because all DimSong can imagine is StrangePaw having the adventure of his life

Trans female lionblaze x heathertail hypokits?
Warriors Ship Hypokits- MTF!LionxHeather Edition
In this AU, Lionpaw realizes she's trans pretty early on and comes out to her supportive family. She is offered a name change, but refuses because Lionesspaw is a bit of a mouthful. She and Heatherpaw meet in the tunnels and they never grow out of their feelings for each other as they age and keep meeting each other in secret even after the Tunnel Drama with Gorsetail's half-clan kits happens. Soon after Lionblossom and Jayflight become Warriors and Hollyfawn becomes a Medicine Cat, ThunderClan catches fire and Ashfur attacks them and Squirrelflight. Being trapped in an ocean of fire cornered by her abusive former mentor triggers a fit of fight-or-flight that results in Lionblossom flinging Ashfur to his death in the flames to save herself and her family. Lionblossom is horrified by her own actions and flees. She ends up in WindClan and Heathertail forces her father to take in her girlfriend. When the truth about the Three is revealed, Onestar tries to banish Lionblossom and Crowfeather, but while Crowfeather willingly leaves Heathertail tells her father that if Lionblossom goes she goes and so Onestar reluctantly backs down once again. After the Great Battle, the two officially become mates and have four kits together.
Litter 1:
Squirreljump- ginger molly with amber eyes. Cis molly, bisexual. Named after Squirrelflight. Squirreljump is a strange and eccentric cat. As a young kit, she disappeared for an entire day and was finally found high up in a tree. When her panicking mothers asked her what she thought she was doing, she only innocently smiled and said “I just jumped up”. Despite her strange and bizarre behavior being somewhat frightening to others, she means well and sees this as just having fun. Her behavior can also be an asset at times, catching would be attackers off guard and unsettling them. She is a Scout.
Darkleaf- black molly with bright yellow eyes. Cis molly, lesbian. Named after DarkClan, the imaginary Clan created by her mothers when they first met in the tunnels, and Leafpool. Darkleaf is a noisy and harsh cat who isn't here to make friends, only to prove herself the toughest Warrior WindClan has ever seen. She enjoys trash-talking others and is kind of a bully. She leaves WindClan and joins The Kin when they arrive at the lake, but once she sees the error of her ways and tries to escape, she would be killed. In death, she would try her best to make up for how awful she was in life. She was a Hunter.
Litter 2:
Fawnpelt- light brown molly with slightly darker spots and green eyes. Cis molly, aromantic asexual. Named after Hollyfawn. Fawnpelt isn't the brightest cat but she tries her best to follow orders and be the best Warrior she can possibly be. She prefers an “organized chaos” style of living because she has a hard time keeping things neat. She and her littermate sister Jayantler are constantly bickering with each other due to their rather extreme opposite personalities. Her favorite sister is her big sister Squirreljump, and the two often run around together goofing off and having fun. She is a Scout
Jayantler- pale gray molly with golden eyes. Trans molly, pansexual. Named after Jayflight. Despite being the youngest of the kits, Jayantler tries her best to keep all her sisters in line and stop them from getting in too much trouble. She is very serious (too much so at times) and prefers everything around her to be neat and tidy. As such her sisters’ antics drive her to near insanity as she tries to fix the messes they create. After the death of Darkleaf, she starts learning to accept her sisters as they are, messes and squabbles and all. She is a Tactician.

HalfClan, Moons 7-12
Interesting things happening this moon(s)!
Moon 7: Frogpaw is now Frogears in honor of their spirit. They're still strange, but thanks to Nectarfoot, she's now also smart!
Speaking of Nectarfoot, she retires alongside Frogears' warriorhood. Being able to see Frogears through to warriorhood has done her good, and now she's calmed down and ready to settle down for her retirement.
Tumblr media
(We'll see Frogears shortly. Don't worry.)
Also, Cricketstar catches yellowcough and loses a life. The dialogue said "several" lives but she was only down to eight, so.
Moon 8: Not much happens. Roachheart continues to be a bit of a prickly guy, complaining about people behind their back. Nectarfoot seems to be settling well into the elder's den, bickering with Alderfur.
Patrol time! We sent out Frogears, Marigoldfrost, Roachheart, and Cricketstar. They found a mysterious rabbit, shaking and moving rather un-rabbit like. After careful consideration, they hunted it and ate it as normal. Things seemed to be okay, but the thought lingers in all of their minds.
Moon 9: Cricketstar encouraged a fight between Clanmates, causing Frogears to gain a scar, and Alderfur was maimed by Cricketstar for questioning her leadership.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Our brave new warrior, and literal old lady. I can't tell where Alderfur's scar is, but it's there. I guess the struggle of trying to keep a new Clan together is getting to Cricketstar?)

Her text says she's feeling sore. I bet she is, considering she's beating up her Clan.
Moon 10: Cricketstar's reign of terror continues. She injures Marigoldfrost (the other new warrior) and then retires Roachheart, who on the bright side is now wearing a very pretty lavender flower, given to him by Frogears.
Mousedapple tries, unsuccessfully, to convince Frogears to run away from the Clan together. He's the deputy, by the way.

(Marigoldfrost)
Cricketstar catches yellowcough again, and this time loses three more lives (down to five). I wonder if StarClan is trying to get rid of her? She keeps feeling a sense of dread.
Tumblr media
(Roachheart is now living a great life in the elder's den. We now have three elders and five warriors, counting the deputy).
Patrol time! Brackentail takes Jasperstream, Turtlerun, and Mousedapple out on an herb collecting mission. They have a great time talking to a StarClan cat who comes down to join them.
Moon 11: Roachheart goes for a wander and is returned to the Clan.
Frogears and Cricketstar cross paths again. Frogears lies to Cricketstar, and finds the way Cricketstar acts increasingly uncomfortable. Meanwhile, Marigoldfrost imagines what having kits with Frogears would look like! How nice.
Moon 12: Not much happens this moon either. Jasperstream, Mousedapple, Frogears, and Marigoldfrost all go on a patrol, and hear an odd rustling from the border. Thankfully, it happens to be a mouse, and Frogears returns to camp with a big mouse hanging from her jaws.
Scene (Moon 10):
"What is the meaning of this treachery?" Frogears heard a yowl from the clearing. They crept out silently, spotting Marigoldfrost bristling at Cricketstar.
"I said, I will not lead a patrol into QuietClan territory," Marigoldfrost said, quietly. "They're far bigger than us. Things have been peaceful so far, but they won't stay that way if we try and invade our neighbors."
"I am your leader," Cricketstar said in a dangerous voice. She was far too thin for how early into leaf-bare it was, the yellowcough she had caught still ravaging her body. "You listen to me."
"I will not do it," Marigoldfrost replied. "Mousedapple will-"
"Mousedapple is not the leader. You will do wise to remember that, and remember your place."
"I will not." Cricketstar leapt at Marigoldfrost, screaming. Frogears could only watch as her leader bowled over her friend, flattening her against the cold ground. Despite her illness, she was strong, and had several years more practice than Marigoldfrost did. Marigoldfrost tried to shove her leader off, but to no avail.
"Cricketstar!" a voice that sounded like that of a lion roared. In a flash, a grey cat came sprinting into the clearing, breaking the two apart. Brackentail. "What in StarClan's name are you doing?"
"Punishing a traitor," snarled Cricketstar.
"Giving everyone yellowcough, more like. Go back to your den. You'll be a far kinder leader when you're well rested." Marigoldfrost still laid on the ground, and Frogears feared for a moment Cricketstar had killed her. At a nudge from Brackentail, though, she uneasily stood, blood dripping from her face.
"I'm sorry, dear," Brackentail said. "I'll get you cleaned up in just a moment." Brackentail left for her den. Frogears found that she could move at last, and crept over to Marigoldfrost. Her wounds looked deep, but Frogears had confidence in Brackentail.
"Why did she do that, Frogears?" Marigoldfrost asked softly, fear sparking in the eye that wasn't swelling closed. "Did I deserve that?"
"No. No," Frogears said. "No more than I did, or Alderfur did. There's something wrong with Cricketstar, Jasperstream is sure of it. If only Mousedapple could-"
"Mousedapple can't do anything," said Marigoldfrost bitterly, hunching back over. "I heard him talking about running away with you. What good is a deputy that runs away when things get hard?"
"I-" said Frogears. "I don't know." She shuffled closer to Marigoldfrost. "But I won't go with him. I'll stay here with you, no matter how hard it gets."

Firepelt/jaw(Orghullo) writing. Started as a word vomit. Ended up editing it and messing with it. Now it's a short story of his fucking LIFE.
Firepelt is a fighter. Ever since he was a kit, he always prides himself in his prowess and blood thirst. He is a powerful and strong warrior under both Whitestar and Shellstar. Son to a hardened father called Dogheart and a brazen, proud mother named Redfoot.
He manages to keep a very boisterous and happy attitude despite this, mostly due to his aunt Berrytail's gentle teasing and his father's dry humor in the face of turmoil. Still, he doesn't go easy when training his apprentices. He follows Shellstar's trials and sees them as tests to make the clan as strong as the Heart Oak.
He is certain his path lies in this violence and that one day he will go out in a blaze of glory and flying fur.
And then he finally meets Owleye and Spidergaze's mother. Once just Blossom, now Blossomsky; She's a beautiful seal-point cat with short fur, with many scars from her time in the city, fighting off intact males. She never crosses much with the big clan-born male. Not until he has to help patch a hole in the Nursery.
And she's so very soft spoken and kind.
He falls instantly.
She's a forever queen, looking after kits when their mothers can't and making sure the nests are all lined with the softest moss. She helps Berrytail and then Pinestep with deliveries.
And all of a sudden this rough and tough fighter is in and out of the nursery himself, helping her carry large loads of moss and patching the branches that protect the den, even reinforcing them with thorns.
They have a litter together, to absolutely no one's surprise. A big litter, of seven! The biggest Oakclan has seen in a long time. Pinestep reads this as a good omen from Starclan. Little Mousekit and Bearkit had also been born only a few days prior.
And then came the drought, and the fire. A fire that caught and refused to die down. Firepelt is on a patrol when it starts. It's someone else who smells the smoke, and it's Spidergaze who comes clawing through the underbrush, in an uncharacteristic panic.
The nursery caught fire.
Firepelt, ignoring everything else, ignoring the fire that catches his long, dense fur, throws himself into the burning den.
Pinestep is in a panic, blindly dashing between the little bodies and ordering his mates around. They take all of the bodies to safer, wetter ground by the rivers.
He drags them out, all of them. Their coats blackened and nearly unrecognizable. He burns his jaw on coals he assumes are yet another kit, but continues even so.
Only Petalkit, Mousekit, and Bearkit survive.
Firepelt is a mess, unable to speak through his bleeding mouth. But, he is crying all the same, even as he curls around the tiny Petalkit and Pinestep tries to treat his wound, he presses his face into Blossomsky's charred fur.
Volepelt, the old tom and father of the other two, is much the same, though less injured and thanking Firepelt over and over again for saving them.
Once it's clear he will not fully recover from his wounds, Shellstar--in a strange streak of kindness--calls for their ancestors, even the recently deceased, and renames Firepelt to Firejaw. To honor his courage to tear flames away from their kits with his bare teeth and offer him retirement into the elder's den.
He only agrees to take it... if he may still help in the Nursery and assist in his daughter's mentoring.
Obviously, he's allowed. Even though he's still technically in his 'prime', his wound keeps him from being able to deliver a proper bite to prey to kill it, and one of the apprentices' tasks is to shred meat off the bones for him to be able to eat. The apprentices don't tend to mind, because he'll tell them stories while they do. Oakpaw especially loves listening.
One day, he does pass. Peacefully. Beartooth suspects an infection that settled into tissue he couldn't feel in his mouth until it was too late. The cat who once thought he'd go out in a blaze of glory, dies in his sleep, surrounded by kits and family.
He does get to see Petalfang become Deputy, but doesn't live to see the dog attack that takes Shellstar's final life and leaves her as leader.
When Petalfang opens her eyes in Starclan to receive her nine lives, her family is waiting. Her mother and siblings she only remembered as smells and soft noises, and her father, his eyes full of happy, proud tears. He's honored to give her her first life as a leader. For courage to do what it takes, no matter the cost.
He chants her new name the loudest.

just a lil info dump of all the SpeedrunClan stuff in the video posted above.
SpeedrunClan - Moon 100
Leader: Pondstar (8/9) Deputy: Spottedember Medicine Cats: Honeyfade, Aphidtooth Warriors: Sapdapple, Mapleback, Mottledrump, Tornhawk, Conefern, Nightingalegaze, Squirrelnut, Hopestem, Skipnight, Buzzardhusk Elders: Primfoot, Burger
information on the cats copy-pasted below:
First off, our leader, Pondstar. Yep! She’s still alive, after everything, and she only lost ONE LIFE to a dog attack! She’s now 142 moons old, the oldest in the clan! Her traits are playful and learner of lore, but generally I think she’s become a rather bitter and masochistic cat, with a very snobby attitude towards the other clans, considering she has ordered the deaths of AntClan kits before and has been seen taunting the other clans. Her mate was Lavenderripple, the medicine cat, and they had 8 kits over the course of 3 litters: Duckkit, Oakclash, Wildsilk, Honeyfade, Stumpmoss, Timberminnow, Squirrelnut, and Bluestripe. She mentored 4 cats, her own kid Stumpmoss, Sunnysight, Carpclaw, and Nightinggalegaze. She appointed her mate’s ex’s affair partner, Rootshade, as deputy, which was either a power play or she didn’t care about the fact Prim and Root cheated on their partners.
Next is our deputy, Spottedember! Spottedember was born to Faith the loner alongside Frondspirit and Hatchfreckle. But their young 16 moon old mother was, presumably, murdered by Primfoot and Rootshade so that the couple could raise Spottedember and her siblings as their own. Her other adoptive siblings are Aphidtooth, Crocusfur, Rainbowkit, Swiftpaw, and also Timberminnow. Timberminnow considers Primfoot her mother, despite her having cheated on her father, Lavenderripple, so Timber classifies as Spottedember’s adoptive sister. Spottedember was born a tom, but came out as a she-cat during her apprenticeship. She was mentored by Carpclaw, and mentored Skipnight. Her current traits are childish, lore keeper, and good climber, and she was influenced by Carpclaw to defend her beliefs, socialize less, remember history, and she was honored for her determination. She graduated late at 14 moons at Moon 76, and is currently 38 moons old, and mates with Squirrelnut and Hopestem. The scar on her side is from a battle with a Rat King.
Honeyfade is our senior medicine cat! Honeyfade is from Pondstar and Lavenderripple’s first litter, so her littermates are Duckkit, Oakclash, Wildsilk, and Stumpmoss, and her younger siblings are Timberminnow, Squirrelnut, and Bluestripe. She is currently 87 moons old, and graduated late at 16 moons old on Moon 29. Her traits are ambitious and beloved kitsitter. She was mentored by her father, Lavenderripple, and, despite Lavender having a more stoic personality, became more social yet a big rule-follower who doesn’t want to break the status quo. She was honored for her bravery, and she mentored almost every following medicine cat after her: Guppykick, Bumbleslip, Aphidtooth, Almondblossom, Swiftpaw, and Olivefur. She was mates with Snailbeak, but he died and Honeyfade didn’t get into another relationship for a long time, despite many cats crushing on her, like Tornhawk. Eventually, she developed feelings for Sapdapple and became mates with her. Before that, strangely, she had a litter with a parent from another clan, consisting of Almondblossom, Shrubkit, and Chivekit. Seems being a medicine cat must run in the family! She’s very amicable, holding many strong friendships, and the only cat she ever hated is, apparently, Tricklestalk, with a strong passion, for some reason. Perhaps he wasn’t as good a mediator as we think… She also has chronic joint pain, a permanent condition.
Aphidtooth is our second surviving medicine cat. She was born to the loner Shining alongside her littermates Rainbowkit and Crocusfur, and was the first litter to be stolen by Primfoot and Rootshade. She was much closer to Rootshade than Primfoot. Her older adoptive sibling is Timberminnow through Primfoot, and her younger adoptive siblings are Spottedember, Frondspirit, Hatchfreckle, and Swiftpaw. Her traits are confident and eloquent speaker, and she is currently 45 moons, and graduated late at 17 moons on Moon 72. She was mentored by Honeyfade, who influenced her to avoid violence but be better at arguing. She was honored for her initiative. She mentored Beetlepaw, who died. The only cat she ever had a crush on was Sunnysight, and, it seems this isn’t an unpopular opinion, as a lot of cats seem to have crushes on Sunnysight, including Tornhawk and Conefern later.
Sapdapple is our senior warrior at 105 moons old. She has been a kit from the very, very start, and she and Pondstar are the only two founders still alive. Her traits are troublesome, unnatural senses, and good storyteller, and she was mentored by former deputy Ashskip, who influenced her to calm others down and follow the rules more, as well as notice little details. She became a warrior early at 11 moons on Moon 6 and was honored for her flexibility. She was previously mates with Strawspeckle and then Mottledrump before she was captured by Twolegs, and had a litter with Mottledrump consisting of Stagblur, Rindlefreckle, Bumbleslip, and Cedarpaw. She eventually returned to the clan, and would earn two scars, one before her capture and one after: a cheek scar from a fight and half her tail cut off from a falling tree. She mentored Tornhawk. Over all, she seems like she stuck to her troublemaking roots and has always been outgoing, yet oddly level-headed.
Mapleback was formerly a NimbleClan warrior, having abandoned her old clan over a transgression. She joined at 39 moons old and is now 96 moons old. Her traits are righteous and fast runner. She earned a scar on her neck from a snake bite she survived—I think that’s pretty hardcore of her. She mentored Hushfade, and influenced him to be more cold towards others, follow the rules, and be resilient. I imagine she was a pretty strict mentor. She was mates with Wildsilk before his death, but did not appear to have a close attachment to him as she didn’t have a strong reaction to his murder, nor the fact that he had kits with another cat while they were together. She went on to have a litter alone, consisting of Pansypaw, Beetlepaw, and Buzzardhusk. She isn’t overly close to Buzzardhusk, but seems to care for him, though he does appear to be her least favorite kit. Perhaps her more cold nature is why she left NimbleClan.
Mottledrump is from the litter I told you not to get attached to. Well, I lied! He’s a proud warrior, now 93 moons old. He’s the son of Fluff and Springclaw, and his littermates are Gardeniapaw and Auburnkit, and his younger siblings are Snailbeak, Tornhawk, Forestfur, Whiskerrapid, Conefern, Spikepelt, Thriftroach, and Boarsplash. He has the cold trait, which I think he gained from his littermates’ young deaths, but he’s also an incredible runner and a great teacher, which shows as he’s had 4 apprentices, including 2 of his younger siblings: Snailbeak, Conefern, Graymeadow, and Buzzardhusk. He was mentored by his mother, Springclaw, who influenced Mottledrump into making more impulsive decisions. Mottledrump was honored for his caution when he graduated at 13 moons old on Moon 20. He was mates with Strawspeckle and Sapdapple, but after Straw’s death and Sap going missing, he remained single for a long time, until he and Oakclash caught feelings and became mates, though Oakclash would die as well. Also important to note that Oakclash was also mates with Mottledrump’s sister, Tornhawk, at the same time. With Sapdapple, he had 4 kits: Stagblur, Rindlefreckle, Bumbleslip, and Cedarpaw. Curiously, when Sapdapple returned from being lost, she and Mottledrump did not get back together, despite them both being single at the time. It seemed their feelings had mutually faded.
And now it is time for Tornhawk! Oh gosh, Tornhawk, where do we even start? Tornhawk is from Fluff and Springclaw’s second litter, so her older siblings are Mottledrump, Gardeniapaw, and Auburnkit, her littermates are Snailbeak, Forestfur, and Whiskerrapid, and her younger siblings are Conefern, Spikepelt, Thriftroach, and Boarsplash. She is currently 83 moons old. Her traits are nervous, very clever, and good storyteller. Sapdapple was her mentor, who influenced her to step out of her comfort zone and make her own rules, which I think Tornhawk took a little too much to heart. Despite being honored for her forethought, I don’t think Tornhawk actually has much of it. She graduated at the usual 12 moons on Moon 29. The moon before that, Tornhawk suffered from frostbite in the cold, and it hit her ears and nose, destroying their nerves. She can still hear, but her ears are both sensitive and lack feeling, and she can’t smell properly. Through her time spent healing, she bonded with Guppykick the medicine cat apprentice, and they would become mates. Despite this, I can’t help but wonder if Tornhawk’s eyes were truly just for Guppykick, or if Tornhawk actually only got close to Guppykick to be closer to Honeyfade, Guppykick’s mentor. Because it seems like Tornhawk holds a lot more romantic and platonic love for Honeyfade than for Guppykick. I think Tornhawk developed a lot of admiration and respect for Honeyfade while she was treating Tornhawk, which over time would grow into something like an obsession. Her relationship with Guppykick seemed to thin off as she neglected giving attention to her mate, and, Tornhawk proceeded to get pregnant with another tom’s kits—Wildsilk. Not only was Tornhawk mates with Guppykick, but Wildsilk was also mates with Mapleback, yet neither of them seemed to actually hold any feelings for the other, seeing as Tornhawk doesn’t blink when Wildsilk is murdered. I think Guppykick breaks up with Tornhawk around this time, which Tornhawk seems to see as a chance to confess to Honeyfade, while she’s still pregnant. Honeyfade rejects her, and Tornhawk gives birth to 2 kits: Carpclaw and Hushfade (and its not lost on me that Honeyfade and Hushfade’s names are so similar… perhaps Tornhawk requested Hushfade’s suffix). In game, Tornhawk would confess and get rejected by Honeyfade again, but I think Tornhawk does this a lot, and Honeyfade always just tries to politely reject her. Meanwhile, because Tornhawk’s love life is a literal shit show, she becomes mates with Oakclash, but then she has another litter, this time being sired by a cat from outside the clans, instead of her mate again
. 3 kits: Fruitstripe, Fadedpaw (again, with the Fade-thing?), and Agavepaw. As of right now, Tornhawk is single and way too fucking ready to mingle. Her obsession with Honeyfade is reaching Ashfur-levels, you guys. Honeyfade also holds a small amount of dislike for Tornhawk, and very little like, and this is saying something because Honeyfade holds a lot of love for nearly all of her other clanmates. Aside from that, Tornhawk mentored Downseeker and Fadedpaw, and she influenced them to be more likely to bicker. I can see why. She also lost her tail to a fox. (I think she might be taking after her mother, Springclaw, who murdered Wildsilk for literally no reason…)
Moving on, Conefern is our next warrior. He is from Fluff and Springclaw’s fourth litter, meaning his older siblings are—here we go again—Gardeniapaw, Auburnkit, Mottledrump, Snailbeak, Tornhawk, Forestfur, Whiskerrapid, and his littermates are Spikepelt and Thriftroach, and Boarsplash is his younger brother. Conefern is a very simple and easy warrior, thank StarClan, after the absurdity that is Tornhawk. Conefern is 67 moons old currently, and his traits are troublesome, very clever, and good mediator. He was mentored by his older brother Mottledrump, who influenced him to be more likely to bend the rules, and use violence over words, yet also helped him become better at solving problems—okay, I guess if your problem is murdering kits and the answer is yes… But, he became a warrior at 12 moons old on Moon 45, and was honored for his wit. Keeping with apparent tradition, he mentored his younger brother, Boarsplash, after his previous mentor Thriftroach died. He was mates with Sunnysight before her death. I wonder if Conefern is perhaps infertile or similar, as Sunnysight had kits with Mistpelt, but there doesn’t seem to be any hard feelings, and Conefern calls the kits his own. It was a litter of 4, consisting of Mottlestripe (named after his big bro, perhaps?), Skipnight, Honeycomb, and Hopestem. He seems to be a good dad, having strong relationships with his kits.
Beloved Nightingalegaze is the child of Perchroar, with deceased littermates Fringewhisker, Graymeadow, Lowstep, and Downseeker, and younger half-sibling Oliverfur, whose father is Hushfade. Nightingalegaze views Hushfade as their own father too. Nightingalegaze is currently 42 moons old and grew up during a time when wars were rampant. They were mentored by Pondstar, so I imagine the pressure was really on for them to be just as violent and bloodlusty and strong as the rest of the clan. Their traits are adventurous, great climber, and valuable insight, and Pondstar influenced them to break rules that don’t suit them and to be resilient. They were honored for their fearlessness and graduated late at 15 moons on Moon 73—I imagine because Pondstar held high expectations for them. If not for the fact that they haven’t had an apprentice yet, I almost wonder if Pondstar would have made them deputy instead of Spottedember considering their traits about good insight. They were born a tom but came out as nonbinary as a warrior, and they became mates with Timberminnow briefly and had a litter of 3 kits with her: Quiverkit, Moonpaw, and Fuzzkit, all of whom died young, and so did Timberminnow. This likely deeply affected Nightingalegaze, but I imagine they are pushing their emotions away to keep up appearances. Their leg was also just mangled in a Twoleg trap on Moon 100, twisting it, so that’s another thing weighing their mind down. Poor Nightninggalegaze—it really isn’t going great for them.
Squirrelnut is from Pondstar and Lavenderripple’s last litter, their littermate being Bluestripe and their older siblings being Duckkit, Oakclash, Wildsilk, Honeyfade, Stumpmoss, and Timberminnow. She is currently 34 moons old and in a sapphic poly-relationship with Spottedember and Hopestem. Her traits are wise, valuable insight, and good teacher, and she was mentored by Lowstep. She graduated at 13 moons old on Moon 79 and was honored for her understanding. I imagine Squirrelnut is kind of a little silly cat, who likes to crack jokes and poke fun of others lightly, which makes others think she isn’t all that serious or smart, but she really is very wise and knowledgeable. I think Spottedember has grown a little more jaded over time, and I think Squirrelnut is there to try and mellow her out and get her to relax. Squirrelnut I think was also the one to fall for Hopestem and suggest bringing her into the relationship after seeing Spottedember getting flustered by Hopestem’s kindness.
Hopestem is the daughter of Sunnysight and Conefern, with Mistpelt being her biological surrogative father. She resembles Mistpelt a lot though, so I think she tried to have a stronger relationship with Mistpelt before his death. Her siblings are Mottlestripe, Skipnight, and Honeycone. She’s currently 29 moons old, and her traits are charismatic, den builder, and a great mediator. She was mentored by Hushfade, who made her resilient and better at caring for the camp. She graduated at 12 moons on Moon 83 and was honored for her charisma. I think she’s a very kind and genuine soul, caring for even the tiniest things, a stark contrast to the rest of her clan. She also had a childhood crush on Bluestripe, and became mates with him. But, Bluestripe died when their relationship was still young, and Hopestem was devastated. She sought solace in Bluestripe’s sister, Squirrelnut, as they both mourned his death. I think they grew close during this, and Squirrelnut started to fall in love with her shy smiles and bubbly laughter, and how diligently she would care for the camp as though it was a living thing too. I like to think Hopestem had a little crush on Spottedember first, finding how the young and new deputy tried to keep things running smoothly and orderly endearing. She was likely shocked to be asked to be mates with them, perhaps a bit hesitant to rush into anything and ruin their friendship too, but she accepted, knowing that she could learn to love the two romantically. I think she’s often nervous to mess something up though, and often steps over her own paws to try and appease them, but Spottedember and Squirrelnut always reassure her she doesn’t have to be perfect for them. She’s also probably equally as worried as Squirrelnut that Spottedember is stressing out and overworking herself. Aside from her adorable love life, she also briefly mentored Swiftpaw before he became a medicine cat, and I think she took his death hard too.
Skipnight is Hopestem’s sister, so just rinse and repeat what I said earlier: her parents are Sunnysight, Conefern, and Mistpelt, and her littermates are Hopestem, Mottlestripe, and Honeycone. She’s 29 moons old and her traits are nervous but formidable fighter, which I think is an interesting combination. She was mentored by Spottedember, and I think since Spottedember was barely older than her by 9 moons, Spottedember actually struggled a bit with maintaining her authority versus a friendship with Skipnight. They don’t appear to have a strong relationship at all, so I wonder if Spottedember perhaps tried too hard to be a serious mentor. Still, Spottedember influenced Skipnight to break away from the status quo, defend her beliefs, and to be social. She was honored for her insight when she graduated at 12 moons on Moon 83. She was mates with Frondspirit, who died only this past moon on 99. She’s not grieving his loss though, so I think Skipnight mostly just feels… lonely. She doesn’t really seem to have any friends… except for Tornhawk.
Buzzardhawk is our youngest warrior and cat in the clan in general at 17 moons old. He is currently injured too, but so far it is not a permanent scar. Buzzardhawk’s mother is Mapleback, and his littermates were Pansypaw and Beetlepaw. Pansypaw died right before they were supposed to become warriors together, so I think this left him quite shocked, especially since Beetlepaw’s death was probably still raw. His traits are troublesome and incredible runner, and his mentor was Mottledrump, who influenced him to be more cold towards others and use violence over words (...again, Mottledrump, again?). He graduated, alone, at 12 moons on Moon 95, and was honored for his dignity. He then immediately had to mentor an apprentice, Moonpaw, and I imagine he was not quite ready for it at all, still grieving his sister. But I think he tried and, unlike with Spottedember and Skipnight, he and Moonpaw became good friends instead of a more traditional mentor-apprentice relationship. But this only meant that when Moonpaw died suddenly, Buzzardhawk was left hollow and lonely. I think he had kind of shut down at this point, growing jaded, sad, and quiet. He grew up after the wars, but during a time when death was rampant, dragging the clan down from a bustling hive of activity, to a meager sixteen cats. I think death is starting to become numb to him. …After him and Skipnight, this is starting to get very depressing…
Thankfully, Primfoot is next! Ah, good ol’ Primfoot! Primsy, Primsy, Primsy… If we thought Tornhawk was a lot of drama, then she’s got nothing on Primfoot. Prim joined the clan at 61 moons old on Moon 22. ClanGen says that something terrible made her leave her old home behind, and we might not know what that is, but whatever it was, I almost wonder if it was more of Prim’s fault than what she would lead others to believe… Primfoot was almost too quick to join the clan and take a clanname, in my opinion. She is currently 139 moons old, and an elder. Her traits are righteous and unnatural senses, which I think fits her a lot. I think Primfoot is the kind of cat to think she’s never in the wrong, and that everything she does is for the greater good in the end. She currently has a permanent condition of a weak leg, and has had it for 47 moons, which meant she was a warrior for a long time despite her weak leg. She mentored many apprentices, including Forestfur, Timberminnow, Fringewhisker, Agavepaw, and Pansypaw.
It says she encouraged Forestfur to heed their anger and be calm, so I think Primfoot really prided herself and others on being calm, collected, and calculated, and to be proper and mannerly. Which is almost ironic, considering all of the murdering and kidnapping and taunting she does. Let’s start off from when she joined the clan—she pretty quickly became mates with Lavenderripple, I imagine because she was perhaps purposefully getting close to him since he was a medicine cat and therefore in a position of power, and he was easily smitten with her attention, despite already having a mate. Whatever the case, Pondstar had no issue with Lavender dating Primfoot, though Pond and Prim were never in a relationship with each other. Pondstar and Lavenderripple at the time had Timberminnow, and Primfoot was quick to become a parental figure for Timberminnow, which was only more firmly solidified as Timber was given to Prim as an apprentice. Now, a lot of Primfoot’s kits seem to be rather depressed or stressed out in some way, but she also has very strong relationships in game with them, so I get the impression that Primfoot was very much an over-controlling parent but one who gave a lot of overbearing love. Like, smothered her kits in it, but only so she could use it as a threat—if they didn’t do what she wanted, she would stop loving them, and of course they wouldn’t want that. Timberminnow I think was the first and perhaps strongest case of this, as Prim wasn’t even her primary parent at first, but quickly it seems like Timber did everything for Primfoot’s approval. I think this definitely affected Timberminnow later in life, as Timber was often detached from her mates and family, and thought about leaving the clan often. I think Timber was either jealous when Primfoot moved on to her other kits, or that Timber realized Primfoot didn’t really love her in a genuine way, and it depressed her. What a great mom you are, Primfoot. And she’s not a great mate either, as she cheated on Lavenderripple for Rootshade.
I think Primfoot might have genuinely fallen for Rootshade a bit. Rootshade was a very daring and aggressive cat, and just as ambitious as Primfoot. I think Rootshade was persuaded by Primfoot’s businesslike attitude and charming facade, and both of them agreed they wanted to rise to power together and “build a better, stronger clan.” So, Prim cheated on Lavender, and Root cheated on Oakclash. When they got found out, I think Oakclash broke up with Rootshade, but Primfoot made sure she was the one breaking up with Lavenderripple, which probably pissed him off. Either way, Prim and Root were now officially together, and quickly made themselves a power couple, almost flaunting off how in love they were. And I think Primfoot is the one who likes to use kits to gain power. When she raises her kits, she raises them to love and respect and need her and, most importantly, follow her. It gives her power and influence in the clan. But of course she and Rootshade can’t biologically have kits together, and I think neither of them want to be pregnant either, so the next best thing, of course, logically, is to murder some parents and steal their kits! So Prim and Root will go on to murder 3 different loner mothers and take their kittens, resulting in 3 litters raised by the both of them, including: Rainbowkit, Aphidtooth, Crocusfur, Frondspirit, Hatchfreckle, Spottedember, and Swiftpaw. Just like with Timberminnow, I think Primfoot smothered them with love only to take it away when they misbehaved, and she taught them to be very, heh, prim and proper. I think Rootshade might have been a more genuine parent, as I get the vibe that Rootshade almost has the endless energy of a kit—I think Rootshade enjoyed playing with them as kits but would grow less close to them as they grew up as she doesn’t know how to handle their “emotions” like Primfoot does. Now, after Ashskip’s death, Rootshade became deputy, which was pretty surprising considering you’d think Root and Pondstar would have bad blood… But I almost wonder if Primfoot and Pondstar were almost kind of friends? Because of course Primfoot would try to be close to the leader as well, though I think Pondstar was always just too closed off for Primfoot to get too close. I think Pondstar maybe didn’t care too much about the whole relationship drama, and just happened to choose Rootshade. Whatever the case, Primfoot and Rootshade were ecstatic. They were working their way up the ladder! I truly think Primfoot is the one pulling the strings here too. I think SpeedrunClan became a lot more openly aggressive with Rootshade as deputy and Primfoot being almost like a second deputy, and I think Pondstar let it happen and even encouraged it in some aspects. Killing kits became the norm, and war raised an entire generation of young warriors. I think Primfoot retired because she was content where the clan was. It was the way she wanted it. Her mate in power, the clan striving to be in control and powerful and fearless. On the contrary, I think Pondstar is unhappy with how the clan is now, I think she wishes it was back to the days where it was just her and the founders. But I think Primfoot has also been whispering in her ear a little, especially after the death of Lavenderripple. So when Rootshade died, which probably did devastate Primfoot genuinely, Pondstar made Spottedember deputy because Spottedember was Primfoot’s daughter. And I think Primfoot is really putting the pressure on Spottedember to keep the clan powerful and feared, while Spottedember secretly wishes for the opposite… Wow, mom of the year award there, Primfoot. You really are evil. And I think she is going to be very shocked when she dies and wakes up in the Dark Forest.
Woof… All of that… And then… there’s Burger. God, Burger—we fucking hate you Burger. Why are you even here?! Burger refused to join the clan twice because it was too scary. I think Burger doesn’t want to fight or get hurt, which is why she only joined when she was too old to be considered able to fight in wars. We met Burger pretty early on, and, based on her history description, I think she got abandoned by her Twolegs or lost them, and was left in the forest and didn’t know how to survive. So she approached the clan, but the descriptions sounded scary and hard, and she decided to learn how to hunt and survive on her own. Which she managed! Good for her! And I think the second time the clan saw her and offered her to join, they had gotten even worse, and, even though Burger had been thinking about it, it now sounded too terrifying at all, so she left and lived a content loner life. But I think she started to grow old, and was losing the ability to hunt well for herself… So she finally joined the clan, only to immediately request retirement so she didn’t have to lift a paw. I think she’s still a little scared of the clan, but that she’s realized that when you’re on the inside of the clan, they aren’t quite as murderous towards each other (save for that one murder nobody ever talks about). So now she just chills and reaps the rewards of being an elder. She probably thinks Primfoot is weird though. So I guess maybe we don’t hate you Burger. She finessed the system and we’ve gotta respect that.

PC Paragon Exiles IP(45.137.244.36:28600) a new server on The Savage Wilds map. Paragon Exiles PC New Server Savage Wilds I may need to adjust my requirements (I really do want to try Savage Wilds) but wondering if anyone has suggestions? So far I’m struggling to find one like that. Simply put I’d like to play a server that is somewhat similar to vanilla Conan (some mods/RP is ok) but that has an active “ok sized” population.
Related to #4, I thought I found one or two servers that interested me but then I started seeing things like using dice rolls for PVP? What?!?!.
I’m not really big into PVP but I do like the danger/excitement it can bring and having the setting of “nobody can loot your body” seems to take away that fun. Similar to #3, some is ok but I don’t want to have to write a novel to create a character or to engage in PVP. Some is ok but I don’t want to play a “fetish server” where the focus is on that.
No high fantasy (I want to stay in in the Conan universe).
Decent population (at least 10+ folks on during peak times).
Tumblr media
But like all things, it takes time to adapt and then it feels pretty ok, especially after you get more talents into sword fighting skills. Hence the clunky, strange and unnatural feeling combat system. I’m hoping to find a server that meets the following criteria: Witcher 1 is built on Aurora engine, which comes straight from Neverwinter Nights, so a rolls based RPG. This has become more difficult than I expected. Download Hard Time and enjoy it on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Also displays battlegroup cohesion and fatigue status.Ok, I’ve mostly played on Official servers (Exiles and Siptah) but have decided to try out Savage Wilds on a private server. The GM will introduce the combat round, then pick a PC, NPC or Monster from the highest interval to act first. The action will flow from interval 6 down to interval 1.
New reports at the end of battle showing campaign cohesion and VL control track your progress after each bout. Each character (PC & NPC) and monster in a combat will roll 1d6 for initiative, sorting combatants into 6 x 1 second intervals.
Includes simulated flare effects and full lighting effects where ability to see the enemy troops is effected by flare deployment as well as light sources such as explosions and fires.
60+ battles, operations and campaigns including a Grand Campaign from the airborne landings and the beach heads to the advance inland.
Strategy map and 64 gorgeous hand-drawn tactical maps.

On the Track to Victory
Part 4: Genesis
Victoria wakes up with every inch of her body aching. It's dark, nearly pitch black, and it feels like there's cloth all over her and around her, tangled.
She doesn't recall how she got here. Again. Was she kidnapped? Dropped through another wormhole?
Her head pounds. Rage and betrayal and beaded blood are all she recalls. She struggles against the cloth, feeling a strange sensation on her skin. Her ponytail brushes against her back and she hisses in displeasure.
"Miss Victoria!" A familiar voice says (there's an undertone of… something…some strange inhuman noises almost double speaking alongside the words), and purple clawed hands move the cloth aside.
Wait. That's… her Galaxy uniform. Piled around her, huge in comparison.
Victoria, stunned, looks down.
A pair of black-tipped white paws is what she sees. Her mouth drops open and she realizes it's hidden under a big white, almost scarflike ruff. With context now firmly in place she realizes what she thought was her ponytail under her bandana was actually a mystically floating tuft of fur, tipped in blood red. She looks up and at the Hisuian Sneasel in front of her. A familiar hat on his head and a familiar coat wrapped around his shoulders, hanging onto the grass with the sleeves rolled up a bunch of times-- she can see his Pearl Clan tunic abandoned a little ways away on the grass.
"Something went wrong." She says calmly. Victoria can hear the Zorua cries under her own voice.
That's an understatement. That's factually incorrect. Because a lot of things went wrong, she just doesn't remember what they are beyond that they made her deeply angry and bitter, even moreso than when she was kicked out of Jubilife Village.
He nods. "It seems we have been turned into Pokemon from what happened."
"And what happened?"
"I was hoping you knew."
Fantastic. More memories lost, for both of them.
She manages to scramble out of the clothing pile, stumbling a bit. Four legs are a lot harder to deal with than two. And she's so small. Not fair. Why is she a lil' Zorua? At least Ingo is bipedal!
"Are you hurt?"
She is in a cloudy haze of pain. She shakes her head anyway, then considers her surroundings. A forest? Her nose twitches. What a strange feeling.
Victoria stumbles clumsily back to her clothes, looking through them, moving the folds aside with desperation until she locates her satchel.
She tries to open it using everything short of resorting to her mouth until Ingo takes pity on her and opens it for her, being extra careful with his long purple claws.
She huffs in frustration and drags it over and out of the clothes pile, then dumps it out onto the grass. Jet balls, Great Balls, one Ultra Ball, several berries (that smell very enticing, especially the Razz Berry), a honeycomb, and a dozen muffins. How all this stuff fits she has no idea. Bagin is a wizard. Her crafting kit and flute come out…
No Plates. The Plates are gone.
Anger. She feels a deep seated anger. Did someone rob her? Was it those annoying bandits? She worked hard for those.
"It seems you're missing the Plates and your team. I also have no Pokemon." Ingo observes, beginning to pack everything back into her satchel. She snatches the Razz Berry up before he can grab it, munching it down quickly.
No wonder it's easier to catch Pokemon after they'd had one.
"Right. You are a growing girl, we need to find you some proper food. And water. Everything else can wait." He finishes packing up both their clothes in his own satchel, which is a normal satchel not updated by a packing wizard. He clips it on and then ties Victoria's around her middle. She can feel it rubbing against her fur. Weeeeird. Ingo seems to be adjusting well to the claws as he works, and she hopes she picks up on walking just as fast.
Something is wrong, but she'll deal with it. She always does.
While she was musing, Ingo moved to pick her up. She lets out a startled yelp. "Uncle Ingo, what are you doing?"
"We must not become uncoupled for any reason. I don't believe we have time for you to relearn how to walk before we find water. We do not know where we are and we do not know what is going on. Water, then we will look around to see if they're any landmarks we know."
She wants to protest, but he's right. And being held like this is kind of comfortable. Between thick fur meant to help survive the Icelands (it's so cold that even Ghost types need that)  and the familiar scent of her uncle's coat she feels safe. Small and vulnerable, but also warm and cozy.
Ingo adjusts her bandana and she feels her ears pop up. She hadn't even noticed it was covering them.
She's exhausted. Still in pain, still confused, and it feels like she ran a marathon while she was out of it. Ingo must be equally tired, but he keeps going on. He's always been the only one in Hisui to understand that she's still only fifteen. Still just a child. Victoria remembers him letting her hold his hand in Wayward Cave when Melli made it dark and dangerous.
Her eyes flutter closed.

Restless Rewatch: The Untamed - Episode 02
Warning: Spoilers for all 50 episodes!
(Masterpost ) (Previous Episode) (Next Episode)
Donkey Riding
way ho and away we go, donkey riding donkey riding way ho and away we go, riding on a donkey
Wei Wuxian and Apple are doing their best for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Tumblr media
Xiao Zhan had trouble riding the donkey sitting side-saddle, so the Department of Questionable Practical Effects made him a fake leg to wear while riding regular style.
Tumblr media
Can you spot it? It’s very hard to spot. It is very convincing.
Simple Pleasures
Wei Wuxian takes his time wandering up the nearest mountain, and half of the cultivators in the land also wander up this mountain because...Night Hunting! The cultivators are hot and thirsty from walking because they forgot that they all know how to fly.
Wei Wuxian relaxes by a well and listens to people stanning him.
Also
Tumblr media
I’m going to say it: Wei Wuxian never met a drinking vessel he couldn’t blow.
Everything is Beautiful at the Ballet
The actress who plays A-Yan is named Zhang Linran. She probably has studied dance since she was 4 and now she gets her big break which turns out to be feeding an apple to a donkey. So let’s pause for a second to look at how beautifully she moves.
Tumblr media
Reunions are Awkward, Part 1
Wei Wuxian meets up with one of his family members and it goes super well.
Tumblr media
I...like Jin Ling? He’s much less of a douchebag than his dad, his uncles Jin, Jiang, and Mo (the three stooges), and every damn one of his Jin cousins. He’s genuinely brave (his Dad’s primary good quality) and his hair is on fleek. He’s still a whiny diaper baby, but I like him.
Tumblr media
(much more after the cut!)
Then Jiang Cheng shows up, looking fine as hell and radiating peak arrogant-prick energy.
Tumblr media
When he discovers that ‘Mo Xuanyu” stuck a piece of paper to Jin Ling, he tells the child to literally murder him. Excellent uncleing! A+++++ would recommend.
Tumblr media
“In fact, literally murder anyone who uses Yiling Laozu’s tools, like talismans, lure flags, or spirit compasses - basically murder everyone in the Lan Clan plus those other fanboys we saw coming up the hill. Then get out there and make some friends, goddamn it!”
Tumblr media
These nets full of cultivators on this daytime night hunt are the only time we ever see anything in a net during a night hunt.  In fact dudes constantly go night hunting and the only prey we ever see is rock lady, murder turtle, and a couple of rag mops in the lake.
You Are Not Qualified to Speak to Me
Also radiating arrogant-prick energy on this occasion is Lan Wangji. He has been using pettiness as a weapon since long before he met this Jiang Cheng turkey, and he *brings it* when Jiang Cheng tries to have a conversation with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Letting your eyes wander everywhere except to his punchable face while you ignore his passive-aggressive questions? Quality work.
Dropping a silence spell on his child and then letting your own child explain it to him? Golden.
Tumblr media
Lan Wangji is never ever going to forgive Jiang Cheng for what he did on cliff day, and his silence here is as pointed as an ice pick. I suspect the last words Lan Wangji actually spoke to him were “Jiang Wanyin, stop it,” sixteen years ago.
Jiang Cheng is actually the bigger person in this particular interaction, visibly mastering his temper and telling Jin Ling to take his medicine.
Tumblr media
Reflecting
Wei Wuxian hangs out by a beautiful river and hallucinates for a while. River Jiang Yanli is nurturing and River Jiang Cheng is pissed off, so there are no surprises there.  River Jiang Cheng thinks that Wei Wuxian is a promise-breaking douchebag. He’s not exactly wrong.
Tumblr media
Courtesy of convenient gossiping cultivators, Wei Wuxian discovers that the 16 year old arrogant kid from the Jin clan who his brother from the Jiang clan has custody of is actually and quite obviously Jin Rulan.
Tumblr media
Well fuck I guess now I care about something, that’s inconvenient.
Needing to help parent the child of the sister who parented him is what draws Wei Wuxian fully into his new life.
Tumblr media
As soon as he has this realization, Apple comes back from roaming around, and never gives him any trouble after this for the rest of the story. Which...probably doesn’t mean anything.
Wen Gravesite
Does Wen Ning hang out here because it’s where he and his (dead) people came from? Oh great, now I am sad.
Tumblr media
Judging by all the leaves on this grave thingy I’m going to say that this grave tender dude is, ah, not very good at his job.
Tumblr media
Get him, Jingyi!
Tumblr media
I feel like maybe we all focus too much on how Lan Jingyi is so hilarious and sardonic and not enough on how he is a such a biscuit.
Soul Grass
Tumblr media
As mentioned in the previous post, Chinese spiritual concepts don’t always translate well into English. Soul grass? Sure, why not.
This is where Wei Wuxian’s Sherlock Holmes brain starts to work, although he still doesn’t remember really basic stuff about Dafan Mountain. Dying and changing bodies is rough on the old neurochemistry. This creates more opportunities for flashbacks, however, and if there’s one thing The Untamed deffo needs more of, it’s kissing flashbacks.
Temple Statue
Presumably grave-tender dude is also in charge of clearing away spiderwebs at the temple, because it’s not getting done.
Jin Ling walks into the temple blaspheming at full volume.
Tumblr media
Since this isn’t a Greek story, he isn’t immediately struck blind for this. Then when he wishes for the statue to come alive, it obligingly does.  Everything’s coming up Rulan!
Tumblr media
Wei Wuxian shows up to rescue all the kids by throwing talismans at the monster which does not tip anyone off to who he is.
Baby Cultivator Babysitting
Lan Wangji chills out in the cultivators’ pavilion with Jiang Cheng and their mutual hate boners.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Wei Wuxian forgets all about his nephew and turns into cool professor guy, explaining the basics of soul-eating to the baby cultivators and gleefully encouraging their fear of Hanguang-Jun’s punishments.
Because the Lan babies are good filial children they are super respectful and engaged with this random adult who is lecturing them. They also - like their own Hanguang-Jun at their age - see and admire Wei Wuxian’s intellect. It’s easy to forget how extremely smart Wei Wuxian is, because of how extremely dumb Wei Wuxian is.
Lan Jingyi suddenly figures out Wei Wuxian is not crazy.
Tumblr media
Bis. Kit.
Then Rock Lady shows up and Jin Ling sticks 6 arrows into her while Lans Jingyi and Sizhui stand around not bothering to draw their swords.
I see a lot of comments about the bad effects in the statue sequences but I think Rock Lady is all right. The figure animation is decent and the lighting is no worse on her than on everything else in the scene. Her hair is nice, for a rock person.
Tumblr media
Admittedly I just finished watching Guardian which has CGI monsters so bad they may have injured my retinas and possibly also my DNA, so the bar, for me, is pretty low. Rock lady clears it with room to spare.
Note: Wei Wuxian’s flute playing does zippity towards controlling the statue. Not sure what his plan was here.
Wen Ning Kicks Ass
Now we get to meet Wen Ning, who appears to be a stone-cold badass. Later we will discover how hilariously inaccurate that assessment is.
Tumblr media
While all versions of Wen Ning are delightful, this version of Wen Ning is also...strangely attractive? He’s got a Patti-Smith-Horses-Era vibe here, instead of his more usual lost-baby-dork vibe. And his dreamy “I have nails in my head” expression is intriguing.
Tumblr media
I mean, he’s not a total snack like zombie Song Lan or pre-zombie Song Lan or blind Song Lan or post-zombie Song Lan, but this look is a good one for Wen Ning, is what I’m saying.
Reunions are Awkward, Part 2
Lan Wangji, who has 99% already recognized Wei Wuxian because of the haunted sword and the fierce jawline and beautiful neck and tiny tiny waist, is summoned by his flute playing as inexorably as the Ghost General was.
Tumblr media
Jiang Cheng also recognizes Wei Wuxian and goes into full beatdown mode, thwarted (silently) by Lan Wangji. Wei Wuxian attempts to preserve his incognito by sassing Jiang Cheng in as sibling-like a manner as possible.
Hanguang-Jun’s Pro-Ghost Agenda Has Been Clear for Some Time
This Jiang/Lan fight is hilarious when you consider the implications.
Tumblr media
Macroexpression vs. Microexpression
Mo Xuanyu brought Wei Wuxian back using sacrifice summons, a dark ritual invented by Wei Wuxian that he, most likely, did NOT show to Lan Wangji back in the day. So it’s a pretty safe bet that Lan Wangji doesn’t know that Wei Wuxian was gifted a body, rather than stealing one.
Tumblr media
when your brother turns around, you must whip him you will never live it down unless you whip him
When Jiang Cheng lets loose with Zidian, it’s not just because he’s angry. He’s using purple power to force Wei Wuxian’s ghost out of the body he’s apparently possessed. And Lan Wangji instantly STOPS him from doing that.
Clan Leader Jiang: this person has been possessed, against their will, by an evil ghost
Future Chief Cultivator Lan: Counterpoint: I am banging the ghost
Flashback Time
Welcome to your 30-episode flashback!
Tumblr media
Once I used to join in Every boy and girl was my friend Now there's revolution, but they don't know What they're fighting
Let us close our eyes Outside their lives go on much faster Oh, we won't give in We'll keep living in the past
Road Tripping to Summer School
Gosh I’m looking forward to younger, kinder, more relatable Jiang Cheng.
Tumblr media
...prick.
Incidentally, until now this episode didn’t know that Jiang Cheng has smile muscles, and neither did the person who glued his wig on for him.
Tumblr media
I Like Rabbits
Here we have our first rabbit in a large collection of rabbit iconography that appears in The Untamed.
Tumblr media
Instead of sending everyone to the Wikipedia page for Tu'er Shen I’m going to take this opportunity to rec the short film Kiss of the Rabbit God by Andrew Thomas Huang (tw: blood, tw:body-mod cutting) which you can read about and watch over at  Nowness.com
Tumblr media
Particularly if you are a queer person of Chinese heritage, check it out.
So. What the fuck are these? Are they food?
Tumblr media
Are they made from wax? Or corn starch? or pig intestines?
Tumblr media
Wei Wuxian runs off to get laid drunk and Jiang Cheng grumps about it. Jiang Yanli reminds him that being free is a Jiang Clan Rule, so really Wei Wuxian is following the rules by not following the rules. Does that mean he’s not free? My head hurts.
Jiang Cheng: yes but grump grump grump
Jiang Yanli: Nothing bad will ever happen because of A-Xian’s choices, trust me
Outro
Wei Wuxian faint tally: one  Caught by: the cold hard ground
Soundtrack: 1. Donkey Riding by Great Big Sea 2. Living in the Past by Jethro Tull 3. Whip It by Devo
Fic prompt:  Lan Wangji’s internal monologue while he sits in the pavilion with Jiang Cheng
If you write a fic from this prompt and want to share, please post a link in comments!
Bonus: Wang Zuocheng, macro-expression king

Chapter 33
chapter list / previous / next
Fading in and out of consciousness with no wits about him was a dreadful experience. Being awake and dreaming were difficult for Talltail to tell apart. Is this what dying felt like? There was some great shadow towering above, moving and prodding him. He thought dying would be more peaceful than this. His consciousness faded in and out. His ears were ringing. Bright lights. He wanted to fight, to strike out, whatever these things were he didn’t want to go with them. A sharp prick in his back, and his consciousness faded completely and was replaced with blurry dreams of phantom elongated paws grabbing and smothering him.
Suddenly he was squinting up at the moor sky. It felt like something was weighing him down. But when he looked up, he saw Briarpaw, smiling sheepishly at him.
“Sorry, Shrew was stacking sticks on top of you when you were asleep.”
“And I almost got ten.” Shrewclaw’s voice, kit-like and friendly, was somewhere behind him.”
Talltail chuckled weakly. That tom was such a pain.
Briarpaw purred,  “you’d better get up if you want to come with us. We’re going to watch the deer herd.”
Tallpaw wanted to join them, but he couldn’t move. He watched Briarpaw walk away with Shrewclaw, going ahead to join Fallowspring and Fawnleap and Ryewhisker who waited at the entrance. Wait for me, I'll be there soon.  He thought. There was a longing in his chest so painful it made him want to yowl. It felt like he was sinking into the ground, his vision slowly being blacked out by the earth below him piling up as he watched his friends pad away. Wait! In his head he yowled it, but he couldn’t open his mouth.
Talltail woke up on a soft musty smelling floor with a scratchy moss-like texture.
A familiar fluffy orange kittypet was sitting by his head, dozing lazily in a shaft of sunlight that spilled into the cramped room. Right. He was here. Why did he feel so foggy? And why did it hurt so much? He pawed at head and felt a sore bump. When did that get there?
“What happened?” was all Talltail could manage to rasp.
Jake opened his eyes and purred, “well, you threw up in my yard and passed out.”
Oh. Great. Talltail felt his pelt grow hot with embarrassment.
“And then I went and got my housefolk’s help, I assume he took you to the vet, and now you’re here. Then you knocked some stuff off the walls, got scared of your reflection, also jumped into the window glass, and then passed out again. I hope you didn’t hurt your head too bad.”
“Ok I-I get the idea...” Talltail grumbled. His head still felt like it was swimming with minnows. What had those twolegs done to him? Not being able to remember made him thoroughly uncomfortable. “I wonder if that sticky sweet water I drank was poisoned after all…?”
“It probably was! I don’t know what you got into, but you should know one of the first things my friend Nutmeg taught me when I moved here is don’t eat or drink anything you don’t recognize, or else you might die. She’s grumpy, but she’s really smart.”
“I’ll keep it in mind.”
“It’s good to see you again Tallpaw.” Jake chirped happily, “even if under strange circumstances.”
“Talltail,” he corrected automatically.
“Oh! Right! That makes a lot more sense you know, I don’t understand how a cat could have tall paws.”
Talltail wobbled to his feet, and Jake stood as well in case he needed to be steadied.
“So what are you doing here? I can’t believe you found your way! I have no idea how far those big fields are, are you on a secret clan mission?” Jake’s enthusiasm was the same as always, but Talltail felt a bit awkward.
“I’m…” Talltail paused. What should he say? “I’m...I'm not a WindClan cat anymore. I had to leave.”
“You left?” Jake gasped, “really? But...you seemed so proud of your home. Why would you ever want to leave?”
“It’s complicated. My place wasn’t there. And it’s not here either. Is your twoleg holding me captive?” Shaking his head to clear it, Talltail began inspecting his surroundings more clearly. He vaguely remembered waking up in a fright at the sight of such an unfamiliar and cramped closed off area that all he could do was scramble around trying to look for an exit, find a scent of fresh air, but only finding himself trapped amongst a bunch of strange rubbish. Now that his thoughts were less cloudy, he could control his panic, but it didn’t make him less uncomfortable. The walls around him looked incredibly dense.
“You're not captive, he just wants to make sure you’re well!” Jake said, “This is my home.”
Talltail wasn’t reassured. “You live here? It’s so stuffy, I can’t smell the breeze at all!”
It was worse than the thick woods. At least there a breeze still blew, and he could smell the grass and the plants. Here he could hardly smell anything that he recognized and the sky wasn’t even there. He saw a high up opening in the room where the sunlight came in. Jake must have seen his eyes fix on it
“You shouldn’t try that jump again, you might pull something. Plus, you’ve got bandages on. I wouldn’t chew them if I were you, they taste awful.” Jake added quickly as Talltail craned his neck to sniff disdainfully at the strange sharp smelling soft thing on his foreleg.
“Besides,” Jake continued, “I know another way. I’ll show you around! This door is broken and it opens if I get my paw under it.”
Jake started clawing at a tall rectangular white wooden slab, and with a creak, it opened up. He gestured for him to follow. Talltail was sure he could jump to that opening if he really wanted to, but for now while he was trapped, he should probably trust Jake. He had no reason to be suspicious of the kittypet after all.
“Is this another way out?” Talltail asked as he cautiously poked his head out and looked around. The twoleg den had narrow solid passageways, and Jake trotted down it confidently. Talltail tried to pretend he was confident as well.
“Well...eventually, but you should rest here for a bit. It’s nice, really!” Jake trilled.
“Maybe nice for you, but...this place smells wrong.”
“You get used to it pretty quick. Come on, we’ll go downstairs!”
Talltail followed Jake down the steep steps and tried not to cringe at the weird softness under his paws that was definitely not moss. He tried to pay attention and not bristle as Jake walked him around. The bright orange tom really did seem so excited about Talltail being here, and he didn’t want to be rude to the cat that had probably just saved his life.
“This is the food room, this is the litter box. Oh! This is the best room. Sometimes there's a fire, and it's wonderful.” Jake went on as they entered a wider open space with soft structures up against the walls, but Talltail was distracted by another opening. Bright light came through the hard walls, showing a garden outside. He was immeasurably relieved to see that outside wasn’t far away after all, and immediately ran to it. He barely heard Jake’s warning call when he smacked panfully into a cold, hard service.
“That’s--! Oof, yeah, that’s glass. Sorry, I should have warned you sooner.” Jake winced while his guest hissed in pain and pawed his sore muzzle.
Talltail couldn’t believe it. Outside was right there, it was so easy to see, but this ice-like glass was a barrier.
“This is just sick,” Talltail hissed. “Do twolegs devise these just to taunt you with what you can’t get to?”
“I think it’s just to look outside without letting cold in,” Jake said.
Before Talltail could reply, he heard very heavy paw steps somewhere above him. His fur bristled. “Hold on, Jake,” he whispered “What is--?”
“Oh! I think you woke up Dusty.” Jake said casually.
Talltail stared at him with alarmed eyes. “I woke up who?”
The stench reached him then, a stench he somehow only just realized was on nearly everything but he’d been so overwhelmed by the unnatural scent of the whole place he hadn’t been able to focus on it. The musky smell of dog choked him now and those heavy lumbering paws barreled down the stairs like an approaching monster rumbling down the Thunderpath.
It was the biggest beast Talltail had ever seen, three times the size of any fox. Messy curled rusty fur, massive teeth, and a lolling tongue dripping with drool. Talltail screeched in terror
“Run!” he yowled at Jake.
The beast was coming right for him. Where could he go? He couldn’t run in this space! Fear instincts took over and he shot into the next room, slipping on slick hard floor and barely aware of the pain in his limbs as he jumped onto a high ledge. But the beast was so big, he wasn’t sure it would be tall enough, and there was already hot breath at his feet. Talltail clambered into a cubby higher up the wall and tucked himself into a corner. The dog had its massive paws, bigger than Talltails head, up on the lower surface. It barked at him, and the sound vibrated in Talltail’s sensitive ears. He was cornered. Where had Jake gone?
Terror struck through him when he spotted the kittypet, still on the floor, tail lengths from the dog.
“Run away! It’s distracted!” Talltail hissed desperately “I’ll think of something! I’ll-I’ll--Great StarClan, what are you doing!?”
Jake pressed his body against the dog's massive furry leg. Was he purring?
“I’m so sorry, Talltail!” he called up. “He usually never wakes up from his naps. It’s alright, Dusty is my friend! We live together. He likes cats.”
Talltail was dumbstruck. “What do you mean he likes cats!?” he yowled. “Likes them for what?”
“He’s a good dog, really. Right Dusty?”
Jake purred and weaved through the dog's legs when it dropped to the floor. His back didn’t even reach the beast's shaggy belly. Talltail stared in horror as the dog leaned down to sniff him, its’ stupid tail wagging like mad, and Jake butted his head against its muzzle in response. The dog looked back up at Talltail and whined.
“He wants to say hello to you, that's all.” Jake mewed “He’s not good with manners. I try to teach him, but when he gets excited about meeting anyone new he doesn’t know what to do with himself. He hasn’t quite got that dogs and cats say hello differently.”
“I am not saying hello--” Talltail sucked in a breath. “No, no, I can’t do this, you are completely out of your mind! You live like this? This is normal for you? With a dog in your home!?”
“Yep!” Jake chirped and leapt up onto the surface below Talltail. The dog, this “Dusty”, was big enough to rest the tip of its drooling maw on the edge of the counter. Jake laid down and rubbed his cheek against the dog's snout, so close to its big teeth that Talltail shuddered. His fluffy ginger cheek was wet with dog spit when he pulled away, and Talltail wrinkled his nose though Jake didn’t seem to notice.
“Dusty, we’ve talked about you doing this when new friends come to the house,” Jake scolded the dog gently like a warrior might a young apprentice. “This same thing happened when Cris’s neighbor came over, you jumped up on her with mud all over your paws and she got angry and left! You know how hard it is for Cris to make friends, nevermind me! I never have guests over anymore since you stepped on Nutmeg and she clawed your nose. Do you remember that? She still doesn’t forgive you! We’ve got to work on your social skills.”
Dusty blinked at him and whined. Jake butted his nose with his head again “I understand your excitement. I forgive you.” He looked up at Talltail sheepishly, “I’m sorry about him. You can come out of the cabinets now, he won’t jump up again.”
“I’m fine, thanks.” Talltail's voice was weak. How had he ended up in this mess?
“I understand, he scares a lot of the neighbors. But he really won’t chase you if you don’t run, and then he’ll probably go back to sleep.”
“I’m not--” he was about to say he wasn’t scared, but even he knew how ridiculous that was. Jake looked so calm, and Talltail was a bit self conscious. The kittypet could lay there next to a massive dog's teeth like it was nothing. No clan cat was brave enough to do that. At last, he relented and cautiously jumped down from the cabinet, staying as close to the wall as he could. The dog barked, a low much more quiet boof, that slurred messy words
“Cat.” it barked. “Cat. New cat. Cat friend.”
Talltail looked at Jake, who nodded in encouragement. “He still doesn’t know a lot of cat words, but he tries.”
Talltail stepped forward and stretched out his muzzle, recoiling a bit at the dog's terrible breath, and touched it lightly to the wet black snout. Dusty licked him and Talltail hissed, rubbing the spit off his muzzle. Jake leapt down on the floor, and after some coaxing, Talltail did the same. He stood stalk still, fur bristling as the dog walked around him, sniffing him all over, and it took everything in Talltail to stay there without cringing away. Jake’s loud purr was a bit reassuring as he weaved through the dog’s legs. How could this really be normal for him? And yet Jake looked as content as ever. Eventually Dusty got bored of Talltail and plodded back to the sitting room, wagging its furry tail as it went. It was so heavy that Talltail could feel the vibrations in the hard shiny floor with each step.
He couldn’t get his fur to flatten. Never did he imagine being so close to a dog's teeth and living to tell the tale. Jake bumped his head against him.
“You did better than most of the neighbor cats. You really are brave.”
“Less than you, apparently,” Talltail said with a sigh, “I’ve never felt less brave.” “You're somewhere new. I know how that feels. When I was lost, you helped me. Now I can return the favor. I promise, you're safe here. You can trust me, right?”
Talltail looked into his deep green eyes. “...Yes. Alright, I trust you.”
“Great! I can’t help feeling like it was fate to meet again, y’know? out of every cat there is in the world and you come into my yard! What are the odds?”
Talltail couldn’t imagine what a kittypet could know of fate. But then...he didn’t really know what they knew. There was a lot he didn’t know, and he was never more aware of that than now. But he could at least trust his old friend. Not that I would have a choice, he thought.
Jake led him back to the sitting room, where the dog had already plopped down and curled up with a heavy contented sigh. Whatever mad burst of energy it had when it tumbled down the stairs had quickly left it and it panted hard like it had been running for ages. The fact that it tired itself out so quickly made Talltail feel a bit better, if only so he knew it could be easily outrun.
Talltail padded around the dog at a short distance, studying it. It turned its head to him and wagged, but it thankfully didn’t approach again. It had breath worse than any elder and seemed to be missing a few teeth. Unfortunately that doesn’t mean the rest aren’t still sharp, he thought suspiciously. It’s fur was mostly a messy mixture of rusty and muddy browns, but its muzzle was gray and scraggly, and it panted heavily until its awful breath was all Talltail could smell in the room. I can’t imagine living with such a smelly thing!
Jake was unbothered, and rubbed along the dog's side before plopping down next to it, kneading his paws into the long shaggy coat.
Talltail shook his head, and Jake purred with laughter at his expression, “I did tell you I hung out with dogs on the farm back then, didn’t I?”
“I knew you might be near dogs, I didn’t know you meant this close. You are an incredibly bizarre cat, you know that?”
“Maybe I am. But Dusty is soft, and he’s always been like a big brother. I mean it! I can’t remember my littermates or mother’s faces very well anymore. I remember being small and wandering by myself, and then this big dog comes up from the field and lays down with me. He was so covered in dust it made me sneeze, so that’s what I called him. He came with my housefolk. There used to be two, a nice lady who would let me curl up on her lap. When we moved here she mostly stayed in bed, and then one day she wasn’t here anymore.” Jake actually looked a bit sad. “You know, I think Cris might be lonely. It’s been quieter after the other housefolk went away, wherever she went. Maybe that’s why he’s happy to take in lost animals. There’s been at least two other dogs and one cat before you, but they only visited for a while before someone else came and took them. But mostly it’s just been the three of us living here. We’re family.”
“But you can’t even really talk to them,” Talltail pointed out “How can you be family with completely different creatures that barely understand you? You don't even know their real names, you just make up some up for them.”
“Well…” Jake paused for a moment in thought. “They probably both have a made up name for me to. You don’t always need a lot of words to know how someone feels. I think when you know someone well enough, you just...start understanding in different ways. We talk to each other a lot actually, even if I only sort of know what some sounds mean. We can’t speak each other's words very well, but we’ve gotten good at knowing what the other means anyway. Even Cris tries to speak to me, and really his accent is just awful but I appreciate the thought. You know...You might start understanding them too if you give them a chance.”
Before Talltail could argue that that was never going to happen, there was a loud rumble from outside. Talltail recognized the growl of a twoleg monster.
Jake perked up “Oh! He’s home!”
“What now?” Talltail wasn’t sure how much more he could take in.
“My housefolk.” Jake responded.
“Oh. Great.”
“I know how you feel about housefolk, but I promise, he’s not like you heard. Just pretend to act friendly and you can make them do almost anything.”
‘Pretend to act friendly’ to one of the greatest enemies of cats he knew of. Easier said than done. And when the twoleg entered, and was clearly shocked to see Talltail out of the room he’d trapped him in, Talltail bristled and felt a growl rising in his throat.
“We’ll have to show him that we’re friends,” Jake said, “and he doesn’t have to worry about you, since he probably didn’t want you to leave the carrier upstairs. But that should be easy enough, all we--Talltail? Where did you go?”
Jake looked around for him but as soon as the twoleg took a step inside, Talltail turned tail and darted into the first dark space he could find. A cat could only take so much in a day.
***
According to Jake, it was a “couch” he was hiding under, and he was not planning on coming out anytime soon. Talltail had a limit, and he’d used up all his remaining courage on Dusty. The twoleg had gotten down on the floor to peer at him. It had scraggly patches of silver gray hair around its face, and the rest of it was pale and hairless and wrinkled around its glassy blue eyes. Twolegs were even uglier up close. It’s freakishly long hind limbs creaked when they bent. It made strange high pitched noises at him, which Talltail pointedly ignored. After he sat under there long enough that it started growing dark, which he could only barely tell from the light fading in the far glass window, the twoleg pushed a small hard dish of strange smelling pellets towards him. Talltail smacked the dish and the dog came along and ate it instead. Dusty was on his belly staring at him now, and Talltail fought the urge to claw his nose. Evidently Jake, for whatever unfathomable reason, liked this dog a lot and would probably be upset if he did so.
“What do you want, dog?” Talltail hissed at it. The dog wagged and whined in response. Talltail glared, and it stared back at him with curious watery brown eyes. What was it about twolegs that made creatures in their dens act so strangely? Something this size with teeth like that shouldn’t see him as anything other than prey, but Dusty seemed to have lost all hunting instincts. That wasn’t true of other dogs he’d heard of, they pulled away from their twolegs and chased down anything that ran. Perhaps what the dog did depended on what their twoleg wanted, but who knew what any given twoleg was thinking. Nothing here worked in ways he could predict. He’d never so badly wanted to be back on the familiar moor, but he chased the thought away as soon as it surfaced. This was his life now, and all this confusing misery along with it.
Jake squeezed his way under the couch, with more difficulty as he was a much heftier cat then Talltail, and crouched beside him. He carried something in his jaws that smelled a bit like meat.
“I took this off his plate. He didn’t even notice. Try it! It’s good, better than the kibble.”
Talltail sniffed it and wrinkled his nose. What animal did this even belong to? He couldn’t recognize it.
“You gotta eat something,” Jake prompted, and Talltail eventually gave in and ate, trying not to gag at the sharp herb-y taste that coated the outside. Jake purred as watched him, and Talltail couldn’t help but be embarrassed at how much he needed to be comforted. He’d never felt so helpless.
“How long will he keep me in here?” Talltail asked.
“I promise he doesn’t want to keep you prisoner. He just wants to make sure you're feeling ok.”
“How do you know he actually wants to help me? Why would he? What does he get out of it?”
“He wanted to help because you needed it, that’s all. That can’t really be so hard to believe, right?” Talltail didn’t look convinced so Jake continued. “He already saved your life. I’ve heard of cats dying fast when they eat poisoned human things. It’s not the first time we’ve taken in a stray. The last one was a lot less friendly, but Cris kept trying no matter how much he got clawed.”
“And you're really sure your twoleg isn’t going to trap me? Even though I was already kidnapped once and taken to this...this...I don’t know, awful bright place I can barely remember it! They did something to me though, and I hate that I can't remember!”
“I’m sure it was just the vet. You were really sick, you know. Nutmeg told me that’s what the vet is for. You’re not the only one that hates it, but it never lasts long. Dusty has been going there a lot lately and sometimes he comes back with fur missing, but never anything worse than that! I’m not really sure why he goes, he has been really tired lately, but I trust Cris knows better than I do with these sorts of things. The point is, I doubt you’ll be taken there again, you only go when you really need something.”
An elder dog, at least Talltail thought it must be an elder dog based on its grizzled appearance and bad teeth, could have lots of things wrong with it like any cat that got old, but that didn’t mean he should be ok with just getting whisked away and knocked out in some strange bright place with no medicine cat to explain what was happening or why! Even Jake didn’t fully understand it.
“I don’t think this will be so easy for me,” Talltail said. He felt a bit bad knowing how much Jake seemed to want him to like his…family. “I won’t stay here for long. I can’t.”
“What are you in such a hurry for?” Jake asked.
“It’s complicated I…” Talltail hesitated, “I need to track down that group of traveling rogues that visited WindClan.”
“You mean Reena?”
“No, not Reena. Well, one of her companions. Mainly Sparrow.” He couldn’t keep the anger out of his voice.
Jake must have heard it, and blinked in worried confusion, “What for? Weren’t they just visiting friends?”
“Not exactly.” He didn’t really want to give all the details to Jake. No sense in pouring on him the last moons of strife and death in his clan. They wouldn’t be together long, and it was more likely to make him worry if he knew how Talltail really felt. Jake, thankfully, decided not to press him. He probably could sense Talltail’s distress about the topic.
“Well whatever the reason, you won’t get far if you don’t get a bit stronger first.” Jake pointed out. “You know, when I got a bad cut from a sharp fence, I got some fur taken off on my leg and Cris covered it with bandages and smeared gooey stuff on it. It felt gross, but I think it helped. The nicer you are to him, the faster all this will go.” Jake nudged him. “Won’t you come out just for a moment? You can’t stay under the dusty old couch forever.”
Talltail shuddered at the thought of that strange elongated paw touching his fur.  But Jake’s voice was so pleading he eventually gave a heavy sigh, gathered his courage, and slowly crept out. If he had to put up an act for this mouse-brained twoleg to get out, then he would do what he had to do.
The twoleg pushed back Dusty when Talltail emerged and slowly reached his hairless paw towards him.
Jake whispered “That's how they touch noses.”
Talltail gave a heavy sigh and touched the mostly hairless outstretched paw tentatively with his nose, and suffered through the strange feeling of it stroking his head. He couldn’t suppress his growl. This twoleg was awfully bold.
Jake invited him up on a different chair. Talltail sat on it and glared at the terrible tall creature on the other side of the room.
“You won't hold me hostage here forever. I would claw you if I could,” he hissed quietly.
The twoleg just blinked at him pleasantly as he meowed, the corners of its muzzle-less mouth turned up and wrinkled at the corners. StarClan, twoleg faces were truly more ugly than anything he could imagine. This was going to be an insufferably long recovery.

how i would rewrite warrior cats: into the wild
rewriting the entire series is a big Thing in the warrior cats fandom, and i don’t have the time to do that. however i have been having Ideas about what i would do if i rewrote the books, and the changes are... drastic, to say the least, so i figured i would write them down in a bullet-point style List Thing to see what happens.
- we open on henry, an old wise sage-type kittypet, telling two kittypet kits- rusty and smudge- about the forest cats and their legends, primarily that of how the clans were born
- there were always little groups of cats in the forest, and they were originally very hostile- except for a lush spot full of prey, herbs, just about anything needed for survival. this spot has had many names and is referred to by a different name for each clan but universally, it’s called fourtrees, because there are four grand oaks that guard the area. this spot was something of a truce area where all the groups could get along
- however tension slowly boiled throughout the forest until there was a massive war at fourtrees. lots of cats dead and even more wounded. their spirits joined together to form starclan, who told the cats to unite or die- and as punishment for breaking the fourtrees truce, they set the whole thing ablaze. it’s no longer the survival spot it was
- however, the spirits say, the four oaks will grow from their charred remains again, as will the rest of the area. everything will be as it once was in time. starclan themselves cannot last, and must be reborn every 600 moons (or some other large number) from the midst of celestial battle. however, every time this happens, the spirits say, the coming of the ‘end of the stars’ will always and only be heralded by a heroic cat in a flame-orange coat, as a nod to the fire that started the clans to begin with. so it’s kind of like an avatar thing
- anyway 6 moons later there’s a battle at sunningrocks that kills redtail and oakheart. bluestar and spottedleaf, while discussing who will replace redtail, see a comet across the sky
- every falling star means a warrior has faded in starclan, and it means they are to be reborn- and something wonderful is on the cusp of beginning, says spottedleaf. spottedleaf also notes that according to the calendar system kept by the medicine cats the ‘fire alone’ cat should have arrived about 6 months ago, so everyone’s worried about what’s going on w/ that, Where Are They. she does note however that a lot of cats think the calendar had a miscalculation at some point and that the ‘fire alone’ cat is shadowclan’s new leader
- anyway rusty, the kittypet, decides to enter the forest. the twoleg nests here are Not A Good Place for cats to live, bc there’s constant fighting between the kittypets and everyone has their own boundaries and it’s very chaotic. there is a group that tries to monitor it called the blood brothers, but they’re usually in the city so their guidance isn’t often There. so both rusty and smudge want to Get Out and join the clans
- like in the original books he meets graypaw, who’s always interested in outsiders, and then bluestar, lionheart, and tigerclaw. lionheart is graypaw’s mentor, bluestar is thunderclan’s leader, and tigerclaw is bluestar’s nephew who is kindly yet determined, and has become deputy after redtail’s demise. again like in the originals he’s accepted into thunderclan fast
- smudge feels Betrayed. for some reason the writing takes special note of the glimmer in his striped collar- it’s all kind of colors, purple, red, blue, yellow. it’s very distinctive...
- next morning, lionheart and tigerclaw lead rusty to the thunderclan camp. all is well and good until longpaw and sandpaw roll up
- longpaw and sandpaw are twins and look exactly alike. they’re also the children of redtail and are both very competitive with everyone and each other (although they are very close) because they want to be Like Their Dad. both are taking redtail’s death hard
- longpaw is like ‘i wanna beat him up’ and given these are two 10 year olds basically everyone’s like ‘well rusty can fight too so Bet.’ it’s an even fight, longpaw gets his ear torn and rusty gets his collar ripped off
- this fight proves rusty is capable of being in thunderclan, and he’s renamed firepaw, which is a nod to the ‘fire alone’ thing as a ‘hey isn’t it funny he came right after the clock lined up for a fire-cloaked savior? strange lol’
- anyway firepaw is introduced to some Other Characters besides everyone i’ve mentioned thus far: - ravenpaw, medicine cat apprentice. he was a loner kit found abandoned on the territory and he’s constantly nervous and jittery. he’s also kind of clingy and a tad annoying because he’s constantly worried of being abandoned again, but he Is endearing - graypaw and darkpaw, twins similar to longpaw and sandpaw (although unlike them they have an ‘opposite twins’ kinda thing). both are the sons of willowpelt and a shadowclan tom, but both deal with it differently: graypaw is a dreamer who constantly is interested in cats from outside thunderclan ‘like him’, and darkpaw wants to try and overcompensate for it by being nothing but loyal- especially to his mentor, tigerclaw, who’s a father figure to him. dark isn’t mean but he is very sardonic and sarcastic, and it’s also made increasingly obvious that he Knows Something and is very nervous about it. weird - (yes, longpaw and sandpaw are annoyed that they’re the only ‘fully clan’ cats in this batch of apprentices.) - spottedleaf, thunderclan medicine cat. kind of a ditzy aunt type, it’s joked that she acts like a stoner bc she’s inhaling all the Herb Scents all day. fully enables all of the kids to do Dumb Things - the elders, who dislike all these new apprentices bc besides long and sand none of them are fully clan-blooded. the most vocal about this is thistleclaw, an elder always trying to start shit, and tigerclaw’s father (altho tiger is embarrassed by thistle’s outbursts). - and finally, cinderkit, who always tags along w/ the apprentices although she isn’t supposed to. she is however very smart and the apprentices don’t mind her tagging along. she’s made an apprentice like 1/2 way through here
- anyway at the gathering windclan is MISSING and NOBODY seems to know what is going on, but both riverclan and shadowclan are acting shady about it.
- also brokenstar, The New ShadowClan Leader, seems like a nice guy, a Poster Boy type. his fur is bright orange so everyone’s like, ‘yea he’s the fire that’ll herald feline gottdammerung’ but nobody wants to THINK about feline gottdammerung yet because like, That’s An Upsetting Thought! it’s also noted that he’s way young for a leader
- anyway the apprentices (and cinderkit) are like. ‘we gotta know what's happening and why windclan vanished’ and everyone is involved (although sand and long keep their distance). it’s a very ‘up at midnight at a slumber party’ kind of aesthetic. everyone in shadow and river also has a motive, and at points there’s even evidence that something caused windclan to die out. lots of red herrings
- eventually yellowfang comes into the picture like she does in canon and they figure out shadowclan drove windclan out and that windclan is Alive and Out There somewhere. the evidence is enough that spottedleaf and tigerclaw (who's like the Cool Resident Dad) agree about it and so a spy patrol is sent to sneak in on shadowclan
- anyway everyone discovers how fucked up shadowclan is behind the curtain (what with the elder abuse and child warfare) and is like ‘holy shit we gotta stop these guys’ so there’s a big fight like in the original book and brokenstar is dethroned like he is in canon and brought to thunderclan
- thunderclan saves the day, yellowfang joins spottedleaf in the med cat den, and the apprentices all get names (save ravenpaw who’s a med cat apprentice)- firepaw is fireheart, graypaw is graystripe, darkpaw is darkstripe, longpaw is longtail (in honor of redtail), and sandpaw is sandstorm. it’s noted darkstripe looks super uncomfortable when tigerclaw is mentioned to be deputy. long and sand have a humorous argument abt their names and who got the Cooler One
- however everyone’s like ‘ok so brokenstar wasn’t the Fire Savior so who IS’ and fire is dismissed out of hand bc he’s a kittypet and all the past fire saviors was clanborn. ravenpaw however tells fireheart in private that he believes fireheart is the Fire Alone, and that Shit Is About To Go The Fuck Down
- meanwhile, darkstripe asks if he can see fireheart alone, and fireheart obliges. darkstripe sits down and, very quietly, says ‘i have to tell you about what happened to redtail.’
- and it ends there lol that’s book one.

Twigkit And Violetkit Clan-Swap AU
Tumblr media
I'm so glad I recently reread AVoS for one of my recent rambling discussion posts cause having the memories fresh in my mind works great
Especially since I'm already forgetting the second half of AVoS already dfska
Also, I don't go into detail about the big plot points, but they still do happen. This is more just about the changes the sisters go through.
And I kind of ignored the 'our mom is dead' plot now that I've finished it dfskjahfd
idk why I forgot about that point
So when the choice is made between Violetkit and Twigkit, Rowanstar decides that Twigkit is the best option, as her smaller size would make her more sneaky
Twigkit is taken away and Violetkit screams and cries and has to be held back by Alderpaw to stop her from chasing after Twigkit
Over in ThunderClan, Violetkit isolates herself, despite the best attempts to comfort and console her to the point she's attached to Alderpaw every moment he's in the camp. She doesn't want to play, she just wants her sister.
Alderpaw does his best to be there for Violetkit, but he feels as if his attempts aren't working, as trying to get her to open up is hard.
Luck turns on his side as Honeykit seems determined to be Violetkit's friend and she seems patient as Violetkit struggles to open up.
Over in ShadowClan, Twigkit is trying her best to make friends, despite Pinenose being disinterested in raising her and Needlepaw wanting nothing to do with a clingy kit.
Twigkit is constantly hurt at being left out and Puddlekit seems to be the only one okay with spending time with her. The two are shaky friends still, though, as his littermates pick on Twigkit and he's not a very bold kit to stand up against them.
When Grassheart's kits are born, Twigkit is very wide-eyed and curious about this new life and she asks Grassheart a lot of questions, all of the answers making Twigkit curious about the kits, but still feeling strangely detached from the idea that kits happen
Twigkit appoints herself as a big sister figure to the kits, despite still being a kit herself, and she's more than willing to teach them everything she knows - which may not be much, but she's excited to have company that looks up to her.
She also is saddened when Puddlekit is made an apprentice early, as it makes it harder for the two to hang out
Alderpaw and Needlepaw have the kits meet up and Twigkit and Violetkit are happy to see each other. Twigkit asks Needlepaw if this means she's going home to her sister and Needlepaw has a visible negative reaction, but Alderpaw is the one to answer.
Alderpaw convinces Needlepaw to bond with Twigkit and Needlepaw agrees, though she isn't too thrilled, especially after Twigkit's question
Over in ThunderClan, Violetkit is finally getting along with the other kits, though she's still rather withdrawn and isn't as high-energy as the other kits. Still, she sticks close to Honeykit now and it gives Alderpaw some room to stretch his legs and know that Violetkit isn't alone.
Alderpaw is still worried, but Jayfeather is dismissive about it, stating some kits are just strange like that, but Alderpaw is worried that Violetkit isn't taking well to being apart from her sister
Violetkit, meanwhile, still thinks of her sister a lot, but is getting along great with the other kits and is slowly branching out to others.
When she gets too overwhelmed, though, she finds herself going over to Daisy a lot more, who comforts Violetkit and lets her lay and rest in silence for a bit.
She also talks to Daisy the most, about not being Clanborn and about missing cats and Daisy becomes one of Violetkit's biggest rocks that keep her grounded. Lilyheart still does her best when she can, but Violetkit is more bonded to Daisy.
Twigkit is dragged out of camp by Needlepaw, who also brings Sleekpaw. Twigkit has many questions and concerns but is silenced.
When Twigkit is introduced to Darktail's group, she's on edge and frightened of these cats, wanting nothing to do with them. When Sleekpaw and Needlepaw try to introduce her as a non-Clanborn kit, Twigkit tries to lie and is called out for it.
When approached by Darktail, the kit tries to run but Needlepaw stops her and scolds her. She explains to Twigkit that these cats are important, but Twigkit doesn't believe her. Still, she stays silent and obedient, sticking close to the apprentices.
When the time comes, Needlepaw borderline threatens Twigkit into silence and Twigkit agrees.
Violetkit isn't sure that she and her sister are special, as she hears whispers about it echo through the Clan. She wants to believe and Alderpaw and Daisy assure her that she is.
This brings little comfort as she worries if ShadowClan thinks her sister is special and how they're treating her.
Violetkit asks Alderpaw what makes her and Twigkit special and Alderpaw talks to her, that it's not just the prophecy, but the fact the two of them are survivors and that they'll grow to be great cats.
This helps a little, but not much
When Sparkpaw becomes Sparkpelt, Violetkit is confused on why Alderpaw looks disheartened but still goes over to comfort him, leaning against the medicine cat apprentice and letting out tiny purrs.
He accepts this as comfort and thanks her
When Twigkit is brought back to camp by Sleekpaw and Needlepaw, they're busted by Tawnypelt. When confronted, Twigkit runs to Tawnypelt and tells her what happened
Needlepaw is outraged, as is Sleekpaw
While the arguing in ShadowClan is going on, Twigkit stands by her conviction to tell, as she believes the reason she's special is because she's supposed to help ShadowClan and she's trying to trust what her gut says
But her gut starts to twist with worry as the fighting goes on and she's worried she's on the wrong side of this battle, though she does not believe Needlepaw and Sleekpaw are in the right
Birchpaw and Lionpaw, for the first time, seem willing to be on her side, as both of them agree that the other apprentices aren't in the right. This brings some comfort, but she's still worried, as she's trying to hard to figure out why she's special.
Needlepaw blames Twigkit for her getting in trouble and quietly claims to her that the kit owes her a huge favor for being a snitch.
Twigkit does not agree with this, but her guilt makes her feel differently and she isn't sure what to do
When Needlepaw demands Twigkit go tell Rain she won't be able to see him, Twigkit objects, stating she's just a kit and shouldn't go out alone
Needlepaw counters by saying that if it wasn't for Twigkit she wouldn't be barred from leaving camp
Twigkit winces in response and caves in, sneaking out of camp. Twigkit, however, hides for a portion of the night until she's found by Pinenose and Grassheart. The two scold her for causing so much worry and she once more tells them the truth on what happened.
Alderpaw tries to take Violetkit out to meet with her sister, but they are found by a ShadowClan patrol. Alderpaw lies and learns that Needlepaw and Twigkit are in trouble, cause Needlepaw snuck Twigkit out of camp.
Violetkit feels terribly guilty and Alderpaw assures her that it isn't her fault
Violetkit isn't sure about that
When they return back to camp, Violetkit slumps down in the nursey, feeling like it's her fault. Alderpaw tries again to comfort her, but to no luck.
Daisy takes over and assures the tom she has it from here and just quietly lays down with Violetkit, waiting for the kit to be ready to talk
Meanwhile, when confronted, Needlepaw tries to lie, but Twigkit is insistent. What doesn't help was Needlepaw already being in trouble for sneaking out of camp
Needlepaw is even more furious and threatens to leave
Rowanstar openly invites her to leave
More apprentices side with Needlepaw and he lets them go. Twigkit is in shock. Needlepaw makes a scolding remark on how ShadowClan can keep their 'non-special kit', referring to Twigkit, and Twigkit is hurt.
She wants to believe she's special..
Twigkit becomes Twigpaw and is apprenticed to Tigerheart. Violetkit becomes Violetpaw and she's apprenticed to Stormcloud.
Stormcloud is a kind and understanding mentor and he makes it clear from the start that there are things he's still learning about aspects of Clan life and mentoring is a big one.
He is open about his former life outside the Clan and this makes Violetpaw look up to him, seeing his life as a possible future for her own - a proud warrior who came from non-Clan origins, special or not.
Violetpaw also has been sneaking off to spend time with her biological sister, Twigpaw, and the two talk often about what's going on.
During one of these short meetings, the duo is attacked and they're almost snagged away by who is revealed to be Needletail and Sleekwhisker. The two she-cats are thankfully chased off by a ThunderClan patrol [consisting of Stormcloud, Squirrelflight, Dovewing, and Lionblaze], who scolds the two for being alone.
They are notably not scolded for seeing each other, but are warned they got lucky that is wasn't a different patrol or a ShadowClan patrol.
Stormcloud takes Violetpaw to the side and offers to look out for her if she ever goes off to see her sister, but she has to be honest with him.
She promises
Twigpaw hurries home, grabbing a hidden away lizard as she does so.
Tigerheart isn't impressed with it, but he doesn't scold her. He does express he isn't happy with her hunt and she's aware he suspects something, but he makes no comments about it
They return to camp as Leafpool prepares to leave, as Puddleshine is a full medicine cat now, despite his young age. Twigpaw is sad to see her go and grabs some gifts from her nest for Leafpool to bring to Violetpaw - a cluster of soft, fluffy feathers and a shiny rock she had found while out exploring
Leafpool agrees to take them to Violetpaw and Twigpaw is happy at the news. Tigerheart looks like he wants to pass a message, but doesn't.
Only a couple days later a strange illness starts popping up and Twigpaw is quick to ask if Leafpool is going to come back. This isn't met positively.
A patrol is sent to WindClan and returns with only bad news, as Onestar refuses to share herbs
The gathering passes with only more bad news
Violetpaw is growing worried for Twigpaw, especially as the illness spreads and she convinces Stormcloud to watch out for her as she goes to check on Twigpaw.
He agrees but becomes hesitant when they reach the border and she wants to cross it.
He warns her not to, but the thought of her sister being sick stresses her out
She sneaks in anyway just to bump into Twigpaw who had been sneaking out to make sure Violetpaw was okay and that the disease didn't spread into ThunderClan.
The two talk for only a moment before a small ShadowClan patrol, consisting only of Crowfrost, Dawnpelt, and Scorchfur.
Twigpaw is scolded and Violetpaw is taken as a hostage. Violetpaw doesn't like this and Twigpaw doesn't stop apologizing to her sister.
Dawnpelt assures no harm will come to Violetpaw, that they just want ThunderClan's help in getting the lungwort for their Clan.
Twigpaw feels terrible about this. Violetpaw is angry, but not towards her sister. She decides she hates ShadowClan and she wants to get Twigpaw away.
While together, Twigpaw is out helping around ShadowClan the best she can, which only makes Violetpaw more nervous, as she helps Puddleshine get water for the cats and bring him herbs when he's getting overwhelmed.
He's very thankful for Twigpaw and Twigpaw shines with the praise.
Violetpaw decides she doesn't think Puddleshine is being sincere, as she believes he wouldn't put her sister this close to sick cats if he was.
Twigpaw mentions how she doesn't like how certain things are normalized - like violet outbursts between apprentices - but she believes the reason she's special is that she's meant to help ShadowClan
Violetpaw doesn't buy this and it only makes her more upset
insert the "we're not special" audio
Things are awkward between the two sisters, even as Bramblestar and the patrol come in.
They demand Violetpaw back and scold the Clan for taking a young apprentice into a sick Clan when she could've fallen ill.
Violetpaw, for a brief moment almost doesn't say anything before trying to demand Twigpaw is taken back to ThunderClan with them
Bramblestar explains they can't do that and Violetpaw doesn't believe they can't just that they won't
She has to be basically dragged out
Some cats are upset and Crowfrost falls sick
With some help from the medicine cats coming together, the Clan gets lungwort, but not in time to save Kinkfur, Wasptail, and Crowfrost.
Tigerheart is the new deputy and Twigpaw is proud of her mentor
Cats are refusing to go to the gathering, despite Twigpaw's best attempts to try to talk to them. Tigerheart informs her that not everyone is reasonable.
She doesn't like this.
Darktail takes over ShadowClan.
She likes this even less.
She tries to leave with Rowanstar, Tawnypelt, and Tigerheart, but Darktail holds her back and doesn't allow her to leave. He says his cats have more use for a 'special' cat than them.
Twigpaw is scared
Violetpaw is still mad about what happened, but she's not mad at her sister anymore. She just wants to see her and apologize. Even if she doesn't believe they're special, she feels terrible about yelling at her, especially since she has few friends [granted due to her own withdrawn nature]
She becomes worried when only three ShadowClan cats arrive at the gathering and none of them are Twigpaw
Bramblestar takes in the wayward ShadowClan cats and Violetpaw is quick to ask them about Twigpaw. Tigerheart reluctantly informs her and she is even more angry at ShadowClan for not saving her.
After the gathering, Stormcloud personally helps her trespass to try to save Twigpaw and the two are caught. Violetpaw says she just wants to see her sister.
Rain and Needletail assure she will before chasing off Stormcloud, giving him some nasty injuries before dragging Violetpaw back to camp.
Violetpaw finds that she and Twigpaw are both prisoners now
The four Clans come together to try to fight The Kin, but it doesn't end well and Twigpaw and Violetpaw are still being held.
Darktail seems to know more about these sisters than he's letting on and keeps a close eye on them when he can. When he's not around, there's always another one of his cats close by.
Twigpaw apologizes for ever thinking they were special and Violetpaw stops her, apologizing for what she said.
Twigpaw admits she's scared and Violetpaw quietly admits she is, too
After a couple days, the two are allowed to roam camp, but are still being watched at all times. Violetpaw and Twigpaw try to help the elders and are quickly stopped and reprimanded for doing so.
They try again and are separated for the day as punishment.
He allows her to take a mouse to Puddleshine and while they're there, Rain approaches, wanting to talk to Darktail alone.
Twigpaw pretends to go, but stays behind, wanting to at least try to see what's going on and hoping for information on why Darktail wants to keep her and her sister
She gets no news and only witnesses Rain attempt to kill Darktail. Darktail then kills Rain.
Twigpaw is horrified and Darktail is very calm about the whole situation. He pats her head before sending her off, calling her special once again.
Twigpaw no longer wants to be considered or hear the word special.
She tells Violetpaw and Needletail what happen and Needletail is horrified. Before Twigpaw can say anything, she leads the two out of camp and asks her to repeat it one last time.
She does.
Violetpaw suggests hunting and they go hunting. Needletail seems to be questioning her loyalty, but not out loud.
Darktail brings in some kittypets; Zelda, Loki, and Max. They are made to hunt prey, eat it, and stay.
Darktail expresses to Twigpaw that he plans on turning these kittypets into useful fighters. Twigpaw doesn't feel too sure about this. Darktail makes an offhanded comment on how she's not much like 'him', but doesn't answer any questions, instead walking away and leaving her confused.
Violetpaw finds herself being led into a dream by what looks to be Alderpaw/heart. She follows him and he stands by her as they share a vision of a barn.
Violetpaw, not sure if this is real, asks him what that was about.
Alderheart believes it's about SkyClan.
She asks about SkyClan and he tells her what he can. He also reveals he suspects that whatever kin she may have besides her sister may be with them.
For the first time in her life, Violetpaw feels a strange determination.
She wakes up and Needletail notices something's up. She asks her about it and Violetpaw explains.
Needletail seems unsure but Violetpaw wants to try to find this barn and these cats.
Needletail 'accidentally' lets Violetpaw escape. Violetpaw runs for her life.
Violetpaw is in the middle of escaping when a pack of dogs spot her and chase her down. She manages to escape, but passes out after doing so.
The last thing she sees are twolegs.
Twigpaw is worried for Violetpaw, but Needletail has informed her of what's going on and what's happening.
Twigpaw, meanwhile, has been trying to at least make the kittypets comfortable, since they're forced to stay here. Loki and Zelda are the most thankful.
Twigpaw goes to rest, noticing Darktail is heading out another hunt for Violetpaw. This makes Twigpaw more worried, as she isn't sure if it's better for her to be found or not.
She is later woken up by Dawnpelt, who invites her to escape to ThunderClan.
Juniperclaw and Strikestone is there, too.
Twigpaw is nervous, as she isn't sure what will happen to them and she's not sure what will happen to the cats here, whom she has a lot of sympathy for. She tries to talk Dawnpelt out of it, but Dawnpelt seems set.
She goes back to sleep, but holds onto her worries for Dawnpelt and Dawnpelt's sons
When she wakes up, Darktail is ready to take over RiverClan. Twigpaw tries to protest, but Darktail won't hear any of it.
The takeover of RiverClan happens. The dead are left to rot and the wounded aren't allowed to get help. Max, Foxnose, Heronwing, Petalfur, Pinenose and Shadepelt died.
Twigpaw comforts Loki and Zelda.
While out with Raven and Needletail, they help sneak some ThunderClan cats in. Raven doesn't like this.
RiverClan prisoners aren't being fed and Twigpaw is being watched closely by The Kin to keep her from feeding them.
Darktail confronts Twigpaw about the herbs and Twigpaw tries to lie, but is called out for it. She is forced into telling the truth and when she does, she fears for Needletail's safety.
Needletail is placed with the prisoners and Darktail thanks Twigpaw for her cooperation.
Twigpaw starts working to gain Darktail's favor, using it as a shield so that she can help as many cats as possible. He seems none the wiser as she sneaks herbs and prey to Needletail and the RiverClan cats.
While out hunting, Twigpaw sneaks away from the patrol and manages to make her way to ThunderClan.
ThunderClan is relieved to see her and she asks about which cats made it. Sadly, not a lot have, as Dawnpelt was killed trying to escape.
She asks about Violetpaw.
There has been no sign of Violetpaw at all.
This makes Twigpaw super worried and she fears the worse.
She works with ThunderClan to make a plan to rescue all the prisoners and make an opening for cats to escape.
When she returns to camp, making sure to bring prey back with her, she waits until night and Zelda allows her to see the prisoners. She tells them all the plan and they're willing to worth with her.
Needletail is the least sure, but Twigpaw assures her that everything will be fine
Needletail still isn't sure
Twigpaw starts sneaking cats out, beginning with the wounded and the elders.
She meets up with ThunderClan and they safely bring the cats over.
They get Snowbird and her kits out next before deciding not to risk any more cats. They agree to meet up again three days later.
Before they leave, Alderheart gives Twigpaw some poppy seeds to put Darktail and his cats out cold after a suggestion from Tigerheart. Twigpaw tells Alderheart to let Tigerheart know she's doing her best for her Clan
Alderheart confirms that Tigerheart already knows. He also mentions how he, personally, is proud of her and Twigpaw beams with happiness.
All this time, Violetpaw has been with twolegs. She has been working on her escape plan and she's now making her way out. She hasn't forgotten her sister or Alderheart or the barn.
She is worried, however, for her kin
She does find the barn, but it has been abandoned. Unable to find any sort of scent, Violetpaw feels herself wanting to give up, as she doesn't believe she's able to do this.
Violetpaw ends up falling asleep and having a dream that tells her to follow the blood trail in the sky.
Violetpaw wakes up, confused, and hesitantly follows the instructions
She is surprised when she finds a Clan of cats, having been on the verge of being convinced that SkyClan didn't even exist
Violetpaw approaches them nervously, more scared than she had ever properly felt but SkyClan is very welcoming and they're excited to learn that she's from ThunderClan.
She talks to Hawkwing and Leafstar and they're not too fond of Darktail. She also learns that Hawkwing is, in fact, her father. He is reminded so much of her mother when he looks at her.
Violetpaw informs him he has another daughter, too. She's worried about Twigpaw. Hawkwing is now determined to do what is best for his daughters.
They start heading towards the lake territories together. As they walk, Violetpaw finds she feels very at home with these cats and it soothes her heart.
Twigpaw is preparing for what she's about to do and part of her feels guilty that she's doing this. But at the same time, she wants to save these cats.
She is caught and Darktail decides to drag out Needletail, Zelda, and Loki. He wants these cats to die to punish Twigpaw.
Darktail is going to drown them. He gives them the chance to live by killing Twigpaw. Needletail pretends to take it, but uses it as a chance to get Twigpaw to escape. Loki and Zelda manage to fight off the cats and start trying to escape with her while Needletail fights Darktail.
Zelda pushes Twigpaw along as Twig tries to turn around to save Needletail. Loki informs Twigpaw they can't save everyone and that they need to keep moving.
ThunderClan encounters them and they send Twigpaw to ThunderClan camp while they go rescue the prisoners, who at this point are fighting back.
Right before she reaches ThunderClan camp, Twigpaw and Violetpaw are reunited and Twigpaw almost breaks down as she pulls her sister close and starts crying, the reality of everything just kind of crashing down on her in that moment.
Violetpaw is very comforting and assures Twigpaw that it's going to be okay.
Hawkwing, curious by the name, asks if this is her sister. Violetpaw confirms. Hawkwing, ecstatic, introduces himself as Twigpaw's father.
Twigpaw welcomes the comfort of her father and explains to them what all is happening. They make it back to ThunderClan's camp and wait for the cats.
As StarClan confirms that SkyClan being there is okay, Hawkwing is trying to talk his daughters into moving to SkyClan with him.
Neither she-cat is sure about the idea right away
They make plans to take down Darktail and, of course, Onestar is being difficult.
As Twigpaw and Violetpaw join the patrol to talk to Onestar, they talk about the idea of moving. Twigpaw firmly believes there's a lot she still needs to do and she doesn't feel right leaving ShadowClan.
Violetpaw still doesn't like ShadowClan, but she understands, saying she's not sure about leaving her adopted ThunderClan siblings and Alderheart.
Darktail is attacking WindClan when they get there, he chooses to leave with a cryptic message to Onestar, and Onestar has all the leaders gather to talk about it.
Onestar then explains his relationship to Darktail when the leaders get there.
The five Clans come together and the final fight with Darktail happens, leading to the deaths of Onestar and Darktail in the lake.
Loki and Zelda are informed they're free to go home, but the two stick with Twigpaw for the time being, the cats wanting to make sure she's okay first. Loki and Zelda are very close to Twigpaw.
ShadowClan is going home and Twigpaw asks if she can stay with her sister for a moment and consider some things. Rowanstar isn't sure, but Tigerheart allows it.
Hawkwing tries ones again to convince his daughters to join SkyClan. They're still not sure about it.
There is a large debate in ThunderClan on what to do with SkyClan. Twigpaw defends her sister's choice and Violetpaw is starting to feel like she did moons ago when she didn't feel like she fully belonged.
In her eyes, SkyClan is seeming like a better option.
However, at the same time, she wants Twigpaw to come with her, as she doesn't want Twigpaw to go back to ShadowClan.
Tensions are high in ThunderClan camp with so many cats there. There's especially tension in ShadowClan and Twigpaw really wants to be helpful.
Adjusting in hard and Bramblestar is about to make Violetpaw a warrior when Violetpaw announces she's going to be moving in with SkyClan, who is in the process of making their new camp
Violetpaw has Twigpaw - and by extension, Zelda and Loki - help her help SkyClan. She's working hard on trying to talk Twigpaw into moving to SkyClan.
Twigpaw still isn't sure, but Zelda and Loki seem interested in SkyClan and she's close to the two of them.
And after this my memory of events are muddy
but what I have to follow up with is;
Violetpaw becomes Violetshine and of course gets with Tree when he comes into the picture [again, my memory isn't the best]
Twigpaw decides to stay in ShadowClan and upon her return she earns the warrior name Twigsong. She ends up in a polycule with Zelda and Loki, who are given permission to keep their old names.
Twigsong helps a lot with ShadowClan after Tigerheart leaves to find Dovewing and when Tigerheart returns as Tigerstar, he is very thankful and gives her Cinnamonpaw as her apprentice.
It's also implied he's considering her as another option for deputy if anything happens with Cloverfoot
When SkyClan is chased off, Twigsong, Tree, Zelda, and Loki come together to bring them back and it cements that Zelda and Loki want to stay and that they're very fond of Twigsong.
Violetshine still checks on ThunderClan often and is still close with her adopted sister, Honeyfur.
