May I get the dissertation on Beverly Hills Cop. Please.

andrew just turned on our bluray so i dug through my inbox to see if this ask was still here. however i'm not gonna do anything fancy, just liveblog obnoxiously.

ultimately it's an 80s cop movie so don't expect it to age well and not be that. it's still aged better than eddie murphy's delirious but that's not saying much (do not try to watch eddie murphy's early standup in 2023).

anyway first of all the theme song fucking rules, i'll never forgive crazy frog for what they did to this song (and also the many other crimes of that vile amphibian)

eddie murphy really carries this fucking movie. can you believe they wanted to give this to stallone??? fucking imagine. he wanted to be a cool guy named snake who drove cool cars. we can't be in the worst of all possible universes because that didn't happen and he stuck all his bad ideas in cobra (1986). allegedly he quit over a disagreement about orange juice, which is probably not true but is very funny to imagine. every anecdote you've ever heard about a funny scene being improvised actually came from this movie, i think. this might be the only movie where that's true. the original script is, according to Everyone, fucking dire. it was actually twelve scripts clumsily pasted together. they had no choice but to let a bunch of feral comedians run wild and waste miles of film because they kept making each other laugh. it was the only way to salvage anything out of that script.

i know what i just said about the script but the beginning of the movie is a fucking masterclass in efficient storytelling. every beat conveys multiple important points of information. you meet axel doing an illegal deal and. okay the part where a cop car slowly comes up behind them in the alley while they're arguing about money is extremely funny. there's a whole fucking chase scene before they reveal that axel was a cop the whole time which really sets the tone. this man is a con artist. he's doing his own thing. everyone's sick of his shit. he'd be extremely good at his job if his job was being a wacky vigilante and not a fucking cop.

they introduce A Mysterious Figure From His Past whose whole deal establishes that axel actually was a criminal, and he's got criminal friends, and those friends were so good they took the fall for his ass. they love him! he loves them!! he owes his whole scummy life to this guy!!! it makes it good and devastating when he fucking dies, and yeah, sure, of course axel is going to travel to beverly hills to avenge his dead friend. the scene is set, it took very little time, it told you very little directly. all things i enjoy.

from here on out a major source of tension is the fundamental difference in policing between a poor black city and a rich white city. they deliberately designed the beverly hills police department set to look like a private security firm for rich people. they had to invent the concept of gps, which did not exist, for these bougie cops. axel expects to be able to get away with a lot more than he does. he expects the cops to put up with a lot less than they do. the scene where bogomil makes taggart apologize to axel and asks if axel wants to press charges is cringe as fuck for how it makes this look ridiculous and not fully fucking reasonable to expect a cop not to punch a guy, even if he's being annoying on purpose. but it's important to establish the level of culture shock this is for axel, who has never in his life seen a white officer experience a consequence (he personally experiences many consequences).

if axel foley were played by a white man there is a 100% chance there would have been a romantic subplot with his lady friend who worked for the same rich asshole as their murdered friend. we're all clear on that, right? like. i enjoy the lack of a romantic subplot, but we all know why that's missing, right? they did not leave jenny single for girl power reasons.

allegedly bronson pinchot didn't tell anyone he was going to do that fucking accent in the art gallery scene until they were already filming. i feel like that scene is just two men trying to get each other to break on camera. anyway pinchot got a gig on perfect strangers because of it so good call buddy.

fucking. taggart and rosewood. john ashton and judge reinhold. fucking perfect. they were teamed up in the audition and instead of acting like cops they acted like an old married couple and the genius doing casting was like "yes perfect" and they got the job and also stuck the audition scene in the movie. the part where rosewood talks about all the red meat in your bowels. excellent. i love them. rosewood being the by-the-book cop because he's a rookie while taggart is rougher around the edges is so good. rosewood actually having a blast and really wanting to tell the fun story of how axel distracted them with food delivery and stuck bananas in their tailpipe is so good. damon wayans is credited as "banana man". there are no small roles in this life.

and the movie does my favorite thing, which is establish that taggart and rosewood and even bogomil actually are competent. they don't seem like it because axel is there literally sticking bananas in tailpipes, but they ARE good at their jobs. the strip club scene? they could have made it another "axel foley is the coolest cop" scene where he brings that guy down. but instead the other cops see that he's onto something and follow his lead.

the "supercops" scene is great because ashton fucking breaks. you can see him break. he is trying so hard not to break but it's too fucking funny.

there are multiple scenes where axel fucks up and it's always because he's actually very emotional and upset about his fucking friend getting murdered by a rich guy who expects no consequences. all of his major fuckups are because he really cannot stand that guy being a smug asshole about it. the scene at the country club is the one i could most stand to cut, but it's important for establishing axel's rage and also hubris. he is angry and he is impatient and he KNOWS this motherfucker is up to something. he wants to ruin this man's life. he wants to humiliate him. he doesn't care if it's legal. however you couldn't lose this scene without also losing "this all happened the last time i parked here" so it has to stay. also the part where axel pretends to be gay and implies he gave another man herpes as a con hasn't aged well. i still laughed, but, you know. i recognize it for what it is.

there's such a good scene with bogomil. where he's like. axel. for the love of god. give me something. you are clearly an intelligent man and you clearly think you are onto something. we are on the same side here. what the fuck is going on. and axel lays it all out and bogomil is like "that all sounds very plausible but you have jack shit for evidence, we are going to try to find evidence so we can do something about this LEGALLY" and then it's made clear that he is also beholden to authorities, specifically an appointed official who is very much on the side of wealthy shitheads. "i wanna be a good cop but politicians won't let me" is horseshit but as a narrative device it's a good one. definitely preferable to that bbc sherlock "i am a genius, let's establish this by surrounding me with bumbling morons" approach. i mean it's true that cops are all bumbling morons but it's bad storytelling if your main character is also, literally or figuratively, a fucking cop.

rosewood being talked into helping because he's young and really wants to do good is also good. is there axel foley/billy rosewood fanfic? there must be. rosewood is smitten with axel. you can see it. axel tells rosewood to think of him whenever he gets out of the shower. the signs are all there. where was i. jenny's insistence on participating (because she ALSO wants to avenge her dead friend) creates an unfortunate damsel situation, but that works out because the instant a white lady is in danger that creates all the incentive the plot needs for the cops to be useful. did you know she was an amateur bodybuilder? they should have let her kick ass.

then at the end when bogomil is like. hello boss. i have an explanation for everything that you cannot disprove. which is bad! they killed a man and are falsifying a police report. but also it's an axel move and that makes it okay because it's movies. axel convincing bogomil to talk to his boss by threatening to stay in beverly hills is a quality gag.

there's an alternate universe where the character does that and becomes a private eye and we get a procedural tv show out of it. apparently that almost happened. instead we got beverly hills cops two and three, which aren't as good, because they were actual movies with real scripts and not just bizarre fever dreams assembled from scraps of action movies that no one wanted to make glued together by comedians wasting film with some of the best one-liners you've ever heard.

i MUST hear your thoughts on "im your man" by mitski and how it's the ginny/harry/sirius trio anthem in "beasts"...must hear

what have you done asking me about this...... a great and terrible mistake........ the air is thick with sirens...........

basically i'm your man is an absolutely perfect song about feeling unworthy and undeserving of the love someone gives you, and a feeling of great dread that one day the other person will realise it and leave. it is - for this reason - so eye-wateringly ginny-sirius-harry coded i simply cannot bear it. that whole album (the land is inhospitable and so are we) is heaven and there are so many songs on it that have been absolutely dynamite for getting the juices flowing with this fic (the frost and star are my hinny anthems for chapter 12  👀)

so i am taking a short dissertation writing break to offer an entirely unhinged rant about i'm your man complete with some mild beasts spoilers because apparently i care a lot about this inexplicably. thank you so much for humouring me!

you're an angel, i'm a dog or you're a dog and i'm your man you believe me like a god i'll destroy you like i am

the first verse plays with the idea that there are three tiers of being - dog, man, angel/god - that all exist in relation to each other. the narrator sings the song to put themselves down. you're an angel, i'm a dog - meaning, i'm lowly nothing compared to your pure divine greatness. in the next line, a twist and advance on that idea: you're a dog (faithful, honest, loyal, loving easily and with such trust) and i'm your man (the one who is responsible for you, who you look to protect and sustain you, who is unworthy of that kind of adoration). you believe me like a god - you trust and believe in my power and ability to take care of you and guide you. but then: i'll destroy you like i am - the only real godlike power the narrator identifies with is the capacity for destruction and ruin.

ok partly it's... you know....... the dog thing because i am very on-the-nose. (obviously sirius as padfoot, but also the distinctions in the wizarding world between beings as the moral civilised entities vs the beasts, the wild and lawless and violent magical creatures). but it's also this suggestion of hero worship and adoration from one character to another, and the object of that kind of love struggling to feel worthy of it and fearing the power it has given them over the other person. it's such a huge vibe for how i'm thinking about these characters !! i feel like it works both for harry and sirius' relationship as well as harry and ginny's: the love and reverence harry has for sirius, when sirius is filled with so much self-loathing and guilt and awareness of his own failings as a parent figure, and the way harry comes to love ginny and think of her as this pure singular light and symbol of all his hopes for a bright and good future, which (i think!) would be a lot for ginny to take on and live up to and feel deserving of. there's even shades of it in how i imagine ginny feels about sirius in the flashbacks - little ginny looking up to sirius like he's a god, hanging off his every word, sirius backing away from being responsible for this child's admiration and desire for guidance from him.

i mean this is a pure sirius verse imo also with such harry shades to it ('i deserve it don't i' pure ootp harry angst). but i see some of ginny in this too ('i'm sorry i'm the one you love' - her wish that she could just be such cool and chill and easy and trying to live up to this idea harry sometimes as of her as so strong and stoic and able to deal with things, and then her feelings when all that comes crumbling down....)

the feeling of being hunted! sirius and harry as wanted men! ginny getting found out and caught in her secrets and half-lies! 'i'll meet judgement by the hounds' god. god

people always gave me love others were never to blame after all you believe me like a god i'll betray you like a man

i think of this verse as the sirius and ginny verse. here the narrator locates the source of their unworthiness internally, not in being deprived of love by others, but in something fundamentally broken and tainted inside them. sirius as a character can't blame a total absence of love for what he's become - he was loved, he blames no-one but himself for the loathing he feels for himself. ginny, too, could not have been more loved, both before the TMR ordeal, but also thereafter - she comes from a family that adores her, she is widely liked and admired; but still, there's something missing in her sense of self. i do not wish to spoil future chapters but yeah this is bit is a Big Mood as we come closer to understanding ginny's war and what it asked of her

in chapters 10 and 11 of beasts, i started to play with this idea of the traitor, of a person who has made a great and terrible choice to betray the people close to them and in doing so revealed a true self that was there all along but lay dormant. so far in the fic, i've tried to thread in a lil drip-drip-drip of questions about the self, who a person really ever is, and about the choices characters make because of their sense of who they are, especially moral choices, in a war and under a regime that must, ethically, be resisted.

of sirius, harry, and ginny, so far it's sirius who knows most about what it is to be a traitor: someone who spent the bulk of his life assumed to be a turncoat, who is consumed by his hatred of wormtail and the memory of his treachery, who can't even begin to grasp the layers and dimensions to his own brother's betrayal, and who fundamentally still thinks of himself as a traitor to his best mate, believing himself to having 'as good as' killed lily and james. harry is the one who's full of trust, throughout the war:

'“No,” Harry said out loud, and they all looked at him, surprised. The firewhisky seemed to have amplified his voice. “I mean . . . if somebody made a mistake,” Harry went on, “and let something slip, I know they didn’t mean to do it. It’s not their fault,” he repeated, again a little louder than he would usually have spoken. “We’ve got to trust each other. I trust all of you, I don’t think anyone in this room would ever sell me to Voldemort."'

“No, I think you’re like James,” said Lupin, “who would have regarded it as the height of dishonour to mistrust his friends.” Harry knew what Lupin was getting at: that his father had been betrayed by his friend, Peter Pettigrew. He felt irrationally angry. He wanted to argue, but Lupin had turned away from him...'

ginny, of course, knows what it is to be betrayed - by her first real friend, by her own brother. but i just think these two final lines, the twist on the first verse, are such a huge huge mood for drawing some of these ideas to the surface as the plot inches (v slowly lol) forwards - the idea of a character who has had every faith put in them by someone who loves and believes in them, who fears that they wll buckle under the weight of it and betray that love and trust in terrible ways. to betray you like a man - for the great moral sin to be something inherent to no other creature or being but man - is just such a powerful cool as shit line that is really gettin me going for writing the next bit of this fic.

Have you ever thought of doing an ep on magic weapons or is that too broad of a topic? Magic or legendary weapons are common in ttrpg's but most of the time its 1 or 2 special weapon per story so I can see that being difficult

That’s actually a pretty good idea. It would involve a not-insignificant amount of research, though.

Magic weapons are common in TTRPGs and modern fantasy literature because they’re cool, but you see less of them in medieval literature than you’d expect. So a lot of the research would just be tracking down a large enough sample size for us to draw actual conclusions.

Off the top of my head, the majority of the ones I can think of are Arthurian, and some of those are more “holy relic that happens to also be a weapon” — e.g., Perlesvaus features the sword that beheaded John the Baptist, and the Fisher King’s court includes the Lance of Longinus as part of their whole Grail procession. The only non-Arthurian example I can remember at the moment is Skofnung from the Icelandic sagas… though I’m sure there are more that I can’t think of right now because I’m drafting this as 8:30am and I’m not fully awake yet.

I’ll put it on the list. Sounds like a good idea. (Also gonna see if Zoe has anything to add here before I post this.) ----

Zoe's Addition - (hi all, really need to learn this tumblr thing rather than lurking and reposting all your beautiful Pentiment fanart) The other aspect of medieval "magic items" that makes them difficult is that they're really just mentioned "off-handedly”. Really, to a lot of late medieval authors, magic items are just plot devices to get the heroes on their way. You may get one line about a magic stone which healed Torbin the Heavy-handed, but that's it. Where did the stone come from? Where did it go? O Great Mage Cotten-Eye'd Joe, tell us more!

Believe us, we've hunted for a LOT of magic items, and some have great lore (see the magic ring Loki stole from Ottr). Others, not so much (the Lance of Longinus). However, I did have a "magic items" section in my dissertation, so... perhaps I'll pull that out and cover the nature of magic items in medieval stories, if that's of interest. The nature of such items is more interesting (to me) because they do have a seemingly consistent nature across medieval lit.

September Sky Chapter Two, Part 5

"Yeah, he got here, like, an hour ago?" That was Amber's only flaw. The word like. Yeah, I get she was young and that seems to be one of those things with every generation, but it always drove me nuts then. It drives me nuts now. Anybody else does that, I'm liable to just walk away. And then people think I'm rude, not knowing walking away is better than letting out my inner asshole. I don't like letting that out. I like it too much. And that scares me.

"Oh cool. This been it since you've been in?" I motioned around the room.

"Pretty much. And they were done eating when I got in. So about a half hour of making whiskey cokes." Amber liked her job. When she got to be what she thought a bartender was. She should've been working at seem theme bar, where the bartenders have stupid games and stupid little dances. Not making the same five drinks for the same five type of people that came here.

The five types? First dates; we're affordable for the type of food we put out. Be fancy without actually being fancy. Show off without destroying any chance to do anything for the rest of your night.

Celebration tables: some kid just aced his dissertation, so the friends and family wanted to celebrate. At least once every couple of weeks we have a table of at least ten people. And a lot of those times, these people don't understand how to make a reservation.

Quick business meetings: even on the edges of Riverwest and the Eastside, there sat the people who wore three-piece suits to work and made deals with five digits at the least. They ate fast, efficient and never left a mess. Or a good tip.

The tourist; this person has no idea how they got here. They wandered in somehow, and just said fuck it. They'll stick with the flow. They'll love the place for the night, and usually their waitress got a pretty bad ass tip from them. Tourists, are honestly the best to work for. I love them. No matter what, they will love the food. They care about nothing but the experience.

And finally, the middle-aged date night; these are depressing to watch. Two people who at one point loved each other and got married. Now they've gotten old, and busy, and life isn't this bright and full of opportunities. The spark died, and they don't want to admit it. So they try every trick in the book. And one of those, and it never worked, was weekly date nights. And every so often, they would show up here.

Those were the main five types. I mean there were other sorts that came in. But those were the five. The table right now, drinking? Business meeting that apparently went very well.

We clacked our shot glasses together and downed them. Amber made a gross face. She never was a fan of whiskey, and I was not a fan of vodka, which was usually her choice. I, on the other hand, enjoyed the smooth shot. Good whiskey is good whiskey.

I hopped off the stool. "I'll talk to you later. I should go see what Skeletor is doing." I said, grabbing my jacket and heading for the swinging door that separated the kitchen from the rest of the building.

"See you later," Amber said, going back to marrying bottles and wiping a spotless bar down even more than she needed.

"Skeletor!" I shouted as I came into the kitchen. I was officially and fully in the work part of my personality. The loudness, the living. The things you have to be to be a good manager.

"'Sup!" He shouted back from the line. He was there, a black t-shirt and blue jeans covered with a black apron. An apron that stopped above his knees. We only had one apron that fit him and it had gotten covered by a spilt pot of tomato sauce. Our laundry was done on Thursday nights, so he'd always have it on the weekend. Maybe you don't think of how your kitchen looks, but we do, and we do have the uniform. Burns and cuts lining the forearms. Pen or pencil in the ear. A sauce covered apron covering our clothes,

"How we standing?" I asked, walking into the back office, where the three desks stood. One was mine, the most covered in paper and it looked very messy to the untrained eye. But I knew where everything actually was so don't fucking touch it. Angela's desk was spot less and clean. Not a paper clip out of place. Just like her. We didn't get along all that well. And then Amber's desk. It was covered in little nick-nacks that she'd brought in. Even her laptop had a dorky sticker on it. I threw my jacket on the desk, grabbed an apron and headed back to where Justin was chopping up an onion.

Anyway, GUESS WHAT TODAY IS!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 It's been one year since I started animal anon! How exciting is that?! Phew, what a year we've had together! I mean what better way to start this second year than some chaos since that's how animal anon started to begin with! I will admit, it was slightly stressful coming up with something to meet the occasion of this event. I hope the countdown and this post live up to it. No, I'm not going to reveal myself just yet.. maybe that will be for year 2...😏😏. BUT I will give you some fun facts about me! So let's see; first, I'm from the Midwest (so not Canadian, but close so I do have a slight accent), but I currently live in the TriState area. Second, I am a MASSIVE theater nerd. No, seriously I have been to 21 shows since Broadway reopened in September and I'm actually going to my 22nd tonight. I don't know if this makes that fact better or worse, but I've really only been to about 12 different show because out of those 22, 10 of those are one specific show. Third, I am fluent in German and English. Though, I suck at writing in German, I never learned how to, so don't ask me to do that please. Fourth, my favorite color is red, so you can guess my favorite Taylor album (and coincidently also the show I've been to see 10 times on Broadway...). Fifth, I love to talk A LOT if you couldn't tell by the essays I send yall. And lastly, I can also confirm I am not Taylor...but I will say that I do share something very important with her... tell me your guesses down below as to what very important thing you think Taylor and I have in common, and I'll send some extra animals to whomever I see gets it right first!

So contuining on with my dissertation here, this week I have been trying to figure out a prompt to live up to this occasion. As I already mentioned, my system isn't perfect! And I've been thinking a lot about community lately and how that's been lacking for so many because of Covid. So what I want yall to do is if you get this dissertation of mine, please send a message, post, anon, whatever you want to at least 1 other blog (though you can do more), telling them something you like about them and giving them an animal emoji! I mean what better way to start this second year than some chaos since that's how animal anon started to begin with! Hello Studyblr World!

I’ve sort of been lurking/posting in the studyblr community for a while now, but I want to really get more involved this year, especially because I have a Youtube channel I’m trying to grow now x Sooo, here is my official introduction post!

I’m starting my final year of Politics and International Relations after doing a year abroad in Berlin last year

I study at Queen Mary University in London but am from the US

This is my sideblog & studyblr I made, which goes along with my Youube channel MeliO - my main account is @equinesanonymous, where I post everything else (tbh most of it is quite political at the moment, but I try to keep this account a sort of peaceful place!)

I am the sort of person who need to be super organised. I always have an email inbox at 0, and write down everything, from what I want to say on the phone with a friend to ideas for writing. So as you can imagine, bullet journals are basically my life. 

But I also spend no time at all making them 'aesthetic’ because I am

 not an artistic person

Academic Stuff

I'm just starting my dissertation on how farmers and agrarian communities are utilizing legal challenges to fight devastating climate change. It’s a super interesting topic that coincides with a lot of my personal interests, but my goodness it is very depressing mostly because all of our lives will be drastically changed in the next few decades due to climate change and we’re doing very little to stop that because of the inherent short-termism that capitalism is built to reward and we need to restructure our entire attitude to the natural world and way of living in it to actually stop the most devastating change but even if we stopped emitting tomorrow we can still expect huge amounts of destruction suffering and dramatic change so that’s something to look forward to.

I’m going into law after I graduate, so I will be doing the GDL (conversion course, basically a legal catch up degree because I didn’t study law in undergrad) and LPC/SQE in London over the next 2 years. I'll then be working for 2 years in a City law firm in London!  Hence my name - eventually, I will someday actually be a lawyer (solicitor to be exact)

Interests

Environmentalism/activism (as may be guessed from my disso topic)

I love gardening and have a continually-growing plant collection

Social justice & change (tho I post more on my @equinesanonymous account)

Romantic period movies & crime/legal dramas (unlike the rest of humanity apparently, I thought Broadchurch was amazing)

I basically listen exclusively to either classic rock or low-fi study music between the hours of 6 am and 10 pm, then between 11 and 5, I listen to one radio station that does classical music)

I love horses. I rode loads before starting university and have started itching to get back into it, but it's very tricky being on a student budget and schedule! But I have big plans for some horse-related adventures in the future so we'll see what that holds :)

I am NOT a fan of online uni - I genuinely miss going to lectures!

I write articles for some online journals! Mostly about politics and law

What do I do on here? Why do I have a Studyblr/Tube?

I like to make content. It's so cool that I can post something and other people think 'yeah that's pretty too/or that's helpful thanks!'. So that’s part of it, particularly for my tumblr

The study community is so lovely and uplifting, I want to make my own place in it and get involved!

Particularly with the process of getting into law in the UK/getting a vacation scheme/training contract, I think I have built up quite a lot of understanding of the system and experience which I hope can be helpful to other people looking to do the same. That’s mainly videos I plan on making for my Youtube channel, so if that’s something you’re interested in be sure to subscribe here!

Goals (for the next year-ish)

Finish my short story (surprise! I’m writing a short story!) 

Continue studying Russian (I'm juuusstt starting now, but I want to finish my textbook by the end of the year, which goes up to like, advanced beginner level)

Keep improving my German (I'm about B.2 level after studying in Berlin for 6 months last year, but I want to not forget any of it!)  

Perhaps take up Spanish!

Finish my dissertation and get a first in my overall degree, even with basically my entire degree being online this year :/

Grow my Youtube and Tumblr, and just get involved here, make some friends, and hopefully help some people

Post things relatively frequently, but not obsess over having them be very aesthetic or pretty, just enjoy the process of making them

Good morning! I was in good Ole fanfiction net, it was a very easy site to navigate, had my group of friends then people moved on and I went to ao3 with the hobbit Fandom, one night I got so pissed I deleted everything and Tumblr, I remade it a month later but I never seeked out the people I knew.

Well, seeking angst in stories is better than living it, ngl.

Fisk is an amazing villain. Although he talks waaaaaay too much. Like Matt I get it. I would like to kill him too. But mafia man WTF.

TV shows are always better than movies, movies are weird if you wanna focus on the action like take iron man, nice development and growth in his own trilogy then turning him into a ~villain in age of ultron. He had just burnt all of his suits why would be create a robot? No sense. Or Steve how is cw a captain America movie? It is not. 😢

I downloaded the first seasons of all shows. I'll start with half Jessica half Matt so it will be less heavy and then watch Luke because Luke came a year later. Propably start at Monday. I will watch titans today which is from DC and a cool show. Do you like the six ep format or do you prefer the 13 eps?

Music huh? We need the exact year he was in college tbh to determine better. Maybe some classic rock or indie and frencj songs Elektra made him listened to. Didn't we see foggy being a metal head in the show am I remembering wrong? Radio yes as well. Maybe when they are bored at the office together when he is alone at home and bored before he goes out to fight but something small for sure. He listens to podcasts regularly maybe some law shows or maybe some criminal ones So he can protect the city. But I definetely think he listens to them, I mean he doesn't watch TV soo.. 🤔

oh fanfiction net. ofcourse. i heard the lore over on wattpad, but never dared to go look myself haha! i had a group of friends on wattpad, i loved them but some days it was very toxic (some really really horrible stuff happened.) so i totally get not wanting to revisit those people! i'm glad those days are behind me. people also needed to grow up on that site, because there was so much bullshit all the time.

yeah i like shows more too, at least in such a big fandom like the mcu! just way more room for character development and it feels 10x less rushed! so yeah, i agree on everything you said there!

ooh i'm so excited for your rewatch!! that's a smart idea too, as you said jessica jones is kinda dark, so you lighten it a bit with our boy :). oh, i don't know titans, but i might watch it whenever i have more time! great question too! i like both 6 and 13 episode seasons! as long as its not 22 (except for gossip girl and vampire diaries. those are the only two shows i tolerate haha. maybe cm too, but i'm kinda burnt out from watching that!)
