What I want to do is read a book, tab it everywhere that I loved it and then send it to my bestie with another set of tabs. It's like annotating a book and being able to see the things that our special one loved.

I’ll be reading The Titans Curse by Rick Riordan (book 3 in the Percy Jackson series) after I finish up the current book I’m on (homeland by R. A. Salvatore, book 1 in the legends of drizzt series).
I’m almost done with my current book and will be starting my new book shortly should anyone want to do a buddy read! You can add us on StoryGraph (our username is sunshinesyst3m) and either comment and let us know you wish to be added or shoot us a message here or on our main blog @sunshine-syst3m
I’m excited to read the titans curse again and to start another buddy read!

Currently (re-)Reading...
The Secret History - Donna Tartt
I've been wanting to re-read this book for months, so I decided to make this my first book of 2024, as a buddy read with Ellie.
It was just as good the second time round, and I added a little to my annotations as I went through. I loved reading my thoughts from the first time I read it, and seeing what seemed important to me at the time, and where I was wrong with my assumptions!
Having now read The Goldfinch, and having just started The Little Friend, I can say this is definitely the best of Donna Tartt's books - but weirdly it's because it's technically the least well written? It's simpler, and seems younger, but that makes it more appealing, because it's more relatable, and more readable.
I was hoping such a fun, beautifully written book would give me a good jumpstart to my year, but I just haven't been able to sit down to reading, so it took me almost two weeks to finish! I doubt I'll get more than three books read this month, but at least they'll be really good books!
I'm glad I started my year with this one, I just need to start sitting down to a book and sticking with it. This year, I'm going to: a) try to limit the amount of books I'm reading at once. At the moment I'm reading five books, and it is too many. b) DNF any books I'm not enjoying rather than slogging through them

I wish we had more people to do buddy reads with on StoryGraph~ it’s much more fun being able to make comments and talk about books we’re reading and seeing everyone else’s thoughts on it!

In preparation for the Writing the Raven Cycle: Two Day Weekend Webinar with Maggie Stiefvater (you can register for the seminar here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_EBcSDkxORpmIZcJ0Aw2EVA#/registration) we are going to start a buddy reread of the series on December 22.
Anyone who is interested, whether they’re rereading the series or starting it for the first time, is welcome to join us! Registration for the seminar is not a requirement (but I think it’s going to be a lot of fun and really educational/inspirational) it’s just an excuse for two friends to revisit a beloved series.
We’re going to try to tackle one book a week but it’s the holiday season so we’re going to be kind to ourselves if we can’t keep to the schedule.

anybody interested in doing a buddy read with me?? Love reading & discussing as we go. No awkward getting to know me phase I’ll launch right into it just pretend we bonded over coffee and cigarettes at a book fair or something.
My TBR for December:
- ninth house by Leigh Bardugo
- a little life by Hanya Yanagihara
- Atlas six by Olivie Blake
- the song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
- vicious by V E Schwab
- alone with you in the ether by Olivie Blake
- they both die at the end by Adam Silveira
- sea of tranquility by Emily Saint John Mandel
Keep in mind they’re not rereads for me but if you’ve read any of these before & want to reread that’s fine as long as you don’t drop any spoilers!! We can communicate through iMessage, Snapchat, WhatsApp, or whatever really. Lmk if you’re interested in reading any of these w me!! In the unlikely scenario where more than one person is interested I’ll make a gc. Would like to start after December 12th since I’m super busy before that
A lil bit abt me: 18+ pls, i live in France so european central time (but tbh if time zone doesn’t matter to you then it doesn’t to me either), I’m v likely to completely lose it & obsess & cry (particularly about a little life from what I’ve heard…), other series I love and cannot stop thinking about include trc/tdt and aftg, as for stand alones: iwwv, datvd, dorian gray, anything hermann hesse, slaughterhouse v
Anyway if interested just drop a message or dm❤️‍🔥

I'll be working on the review for "A Day of Fallen Night" later today (and I'll hopefully finish it in the afternoon), but I already started a new book. I'm doing a buddy read with my bf and we chose "Six of Crows" by Leigh Bardugo.
I'll be keeping a reading journal (write reflection posts of the stuff I read that day) as well, just as I did with the last book. Because it's fun. And I feel like it's much more interactive with the few of you that follow me. (Or find me through other means). ❤️

Henry has just re-read "The Secret History", and we've been talking about it non-stop! I still haven't finished my Christmas reading list, but I do really want to read it again. So I'm going to be making The Secret History my first book of 2024!
When I told Ellie, she immediately asked if she could join me, since she's also been wanting to re-read, too, so we're also making this our first Buddy Read of 2024!
The chapters are really long, and it's difficult to split the book into even sections without them being really chunky. But, start as you mean to go on. We're going to do this in four days, and start 2024 off right!

This was a buddy read with me and my mom (well my mom read the whole book roughly a week before I finished it but whatever) and it's the first one we've had since I was in eighth grade and had to read the Book Thief. Anyway, this standalone dystopian novel is honestly remarkable. The pacing is genius, with a general idea and level of violence throughout but only a select few scenes that are explicitly, disgustingly detailed, and the last fifty pages or so I could feel my heart rate increasing with the anticipation of how it would all end.
All the different points of view were incredibly told, each with their own voice separate from any of the others, and the discussions that are brought up throughout - especially about religion and its impacts - are discussions that are needed today, six years after it came out. I also still cannot believe this book wasn't over 400 pages, much less under - at 381 pages, and I think it takes a specific type of writer to pull off not just a standalone but a relatively shorter one at that, considering the themes and events explored.
I hope more people read this book - even if it is because of the tv show (which I'll be starting soon). Thank you for this intensely written book!

Just started reading A Spindle Splintered by Alix E. Harrow for a buddy-read with my friend T.
The book is supposed to be a vivid, feminist retelling of Sleeping Beauty.
