Jin Soulmate AU Fanfic Review!

Review: Okay so this was another soulmate AU and it had a bit of a twist to it. The soulmate mark actually disappears once you get to a certain age. So I really thought that was different. I rated this story 3/5 stars due to the fact that I felt like I wanted more. There was some drama but it seemed kind of sporadic to me but I guess it was to keep the reader surprised. I also felt like I was waiting for other soulmates to appear and I actually think I would’ve really like that. Just to add a little something to the story. The story had more fluff than anything so if you are looking for a more fluff type store this would be a good one. Like I mentioned above there is some not so fluffy moments but it was more the hurt/comfort aspect of the tag. Overall I was glad to read a Jin soulmate AU fic so if you are a Jin bias who enjoys fluff and hurt/comfort then this is a good story. Also this is a Y/N fanfic.

Despite my deep love for BTS, I'm actually quite diverse when it comes to music. I appreciate good music across all genres. As long as the vibe is right, I'm all in!

Neetest Books - Ukiyo by Sharleena

Hey there tearful gay nerds! Reset reporting! And today i have finished reading Ukiyo, written by Sharleena on AO3, it is a yoonmin fic and it currently sits on the throne of the bts fic with the most kudos on ao3, with a whopping 50k kudos, 8k comments, 10k bookmarks and A MILLION HITS!!

For now, its time for my thoughts

PLOT - It has a modern fantasy setting, taking place in Seoul, except we have fantasy creatures living amongst humans. Seoul has been completely taken over by mafias and gangs, with the most important ones being the families, and there has been some stuff going on between the families, of almost all of them suffering some form of loss, and yet all of them landing on the same name of the culprit: Kim Gunwoo. Yoongi, head of the Min family, is the one who gets the biggest lead on the search of Gunwoo, that lead being Park Jimin, a succubus s*x worker. The two end up bonding, and thanks to an attack at Libelulla, the br*thel where Jimin works at, he's forced to stay at Yoongi's house until it is safer for him to go back. The story follows their relationship evolving, as well as the families searching for Gunwoo.

Liaison is a fic that deserves more attention and love. The story features a Half-Black Half-Korean OC, who is quite engaging. The characterization of Liason!Namjoon is intriguing as hell. He steals every scene he is in and I can't wait to see more of him as the story goes on.

2. Wicked by @adonis-koo

A promising Enemies to Lovers AU/Arranged Marriage AU fanfic written by the ever so lovely adonis-koo. Following the spectacular series that was Cherry Bomb, I had no doubt that it would be good. Our main couple are a prince and princess from contrasting kingdoms, each with a cross to bear and a tongue to clash with. Slowly but surely they are warming up to each other. The MC is truly blossoming into a strong Crown princess. Power couple potential here.

3. Immortals by @bang-tan-bitches

Mysterious and horny as hell, Immortals is a two persons job by A & B of the @bang-tan-bitches blog. Together, the two write an engaging fantasy narrative that is choked filled with sexual tension and curiously unnatural events that serve further tether the MC to the enigmatic and ambiguously human BTS.

4. Allurement by @sweetwolfcupcake

Basically, a yandere soap opera. A wicked indulgence indeed, @sweetwolfcupcake. Allurement!Namjoon is one kooky papa and an absolute megalomaniac. The side characters are pretty cool too. Choi Ara is such a queen.

Unfortunately the incredibly fragile fanfic writer with thin skin thing has crossed over into literature, particularly YA and genre literature, these days. Everyone is having a bad time and no one can stand constructive engagement with their work

there is a particular kind of person that falls in love with the concept of being a writer, but is absolutely unwilling to put any effort into seeing or treating it as a craft they need to actively master. they have always existed and will always exist, probably because it's much harder to see at a glance when a writer is full of shit than when someone makes terrible visual art.

traditionally you'd either find those people vanity publishing or wealthy/connected enough to publish through friends, family, old classmates etc. the people who didn't have access to those avenues (or who were too cowardly even to brush against the possibility of having someone read their work and think it was less than perfect) would stereotypically just work on their great novel forever and never let anybody read it.

the point I'm getting to is I think the larger and larger market share commanded by crybaby bad writers is reflective of the point we've reached in late capitalism. publishing companies have realised there's money to be made in doing marketing pump and dumps on writers who don't know or care enough about writing to spend more than maybe 2 years producing a finished manuscript, and who are so intensely horny for attention that they'll happily accept whatever conditions are put on them (we're looking for vampire enemies to lovers in a speculative future hunger games marriage tournament. also you have to promote it on tiktok and speak on a panel at this fan expo we sponsor, and give every other YA author in our stable a 5 star goodreads review. we will not be paying you for this). at the same time, people have been conditioned to see media consumption and audience affiliation as virtues and even skillsets. an infantilised media landscape combined with the proliferation of youtube media analysis hustle culture has primed an entire generation to believe that they're insightful, incisive, genre savvy wunderkinds whose bts-meet-the-winchesters fanfiction is actually the voice of a generation and DESERVES a three novel series and movie adaptation.

Hi, as promised, I spent a few hours today searching Tumblr to compile a list of fanfics for BTS that fall under the fantasy, supernatural, or Sci-Fi genre. I intend to keep this updated as possible as I find more fics, so this is by no means an exhaustive list.

I have not read most of the content on this list. I found these through pouring over masterlists that belong to mutuals, mutuals of mutuals, and using the very terrible search tag on Tumblr, as well as some fics shared in the BTS Fantasy and Fangs servers.

If you know of a fic to add to this, be it something you've read or written yourself, please tell me and I will add it!
