Frieren is so funny because every single flashback has this guy simping pining over her and saying profound things about life and love and making sweet declarations and meanwhile she is there in the future 80(?)+ years and counting missing her friends and still showing no signs of realizing/caring ?????

you ever think about how lloyd lost his childhood due to the tea, his teenage years to being a ninja + (gestures vaguely at harumi-induced trauma) and his early adult years to isolating himself from the world and grieving his friends? because I do

So I don't know if it was ever revealed how Duncan felt when we killed Malistaire all three times but I'm wondering if maybe some part of him could hate us for that too. Like you hear that and you go "but why. Malistaire was terrible and even Duncan knew that(?). Why would he hate you for getting rid of him."
But like I think it's so....... interesting in a very, very, very sad way how Duncan so easily latches onto anyone who directly feeds into his delusions of grandeur. And that's no fault of his own that he was manipulated by the nasty Schism but when you think about how desperately clung to the idea that Malistaire, easily one of the greatest necromancers any of us had ever heard of (at that time), somehow actually recognized Duncan's talents (even when canon supports that Duncan wasn't all that talented, at least no more than the next necromancer) and then praised him for it so often that Duncan believed that he would be the next Death Professor is. I mean ☹️
So like with that mindset I unfortunately feel like it would be quite easy to twist even Malistaire's death as something that's horrible and awful and all our fault. ESPECIALLY if the Schism was feeding into Duncan's already broken mind and shattered ego and was constantly telling him that everything bad that ever happened to him ever in his life was Our Fault. That's like a realistic conclusion that someone like Duncan could come to
And like, at this point in time, are Malistaire's crimes even a factor in how he thinks????? Was Duncan ever able to separate Malistaire's talent and skills and prowess from the terrible and awful things he did? If Duncan wasn't able to consciously tell that distinction in the first place I can't imagine it would be any better during the years he was being manipulated and isolated and lied to
Like in Duncan's mind it probably isn't, "maybe I shouldn't idolize a national criminal, or idolize anyone at all for that matter, and aspire to be like someone so harmful when I can recognize my own talent and build from there" it's probably more like, "you (the wizard) permanently got rid of a brilliant mind, an innocent person who just made a few mistakes, and someone who believed in me no matter what just so that you could be the better than me and loved by everyone else" and that's! very sad actually!
#this is all speculation btw idk if any of this is canon. how duncan feels about all this#i know i keep saying the exact same shit over and over but.... really not a fan of how the game handled duncan! sorry!#i know wizard101 isnt supposed to be about every single character gets a satisfying ending to their arc-#-meaning not everyone in the story will face consequences and/or find a happy ending and like thats fine they dont need to#but idkkkk its just imo really sad how essentially a kid suffers frrom something he cant control by himself (his ego)-#and then instead of getting help he is instead ignored (ambrose) and then manipulated and brought up by a cult#and then when it becomes super apparent how... TERRIBLE his life really is and we defeat him he just... goes back??????#we.... we LET him go back???? i mean we're not responsible for other people's bad decisions or mental health but bro....#and then when we tell ambrose he's just like “oh. too bad. well anyways-” AND IM LIKE WELL THATS THE REASON!!!!! NO WONDER HE'S FUCKED UP#NONE OF THIS IS ADDRESSED. NONE OF IT. WE KICK DUNCAN'S ASS AND THEN HE.... GOES BACK TO THE CABAL#i literally just got so desolate when (wallaru spoilers) because. okay. all that for nothing i guess#this isnt me being mad btw LMAO i know the tone probably reads as angry but im not im just disappointed#and tired. what is it with wizard101 in particular and just people suffering with no end. (me as i make my main suffer with no end)#but anyways yeah duncan has been in my head for a while. he's one of the guys that i love a lot BDKSNSKAJ#he's like a son to me and HE NEEDS A HEALTHY PARENT. HE NEEDS IT#not excusing his actions btw. he still committed crimes JRKDJSIEJ#i just have a soft spot for those villains in media who are doomed from the start yknow. (stares tearfully at morganthe and gf spider)#wizard101#wiz101#w101#text posts#duncan grimwater#im not normal about duncan at all he's probably the wozard oc i feel for the most other than malorn and us

cRanboo was to cTechno what cTommy never could be.
And in the end, he lost both of them and it was his own fault.

Someone caught me dead to rights about Caleb’s dad in the new chapter and I'm gunna talk about him. He’s moving in with a guy he had a more that friends, less that dating relationship with in early college. Their thing ended cause they had to get married, they kept in touch via letters and then calling and then texting, enjoying a long distance relationship.
The ennui of life set in first for the other guy and there would be reminiscing about the old days in his correspondence, hints that he’s never let Caleb’s dad go, and invitations to come out for a more romantic getaway since they are well-locked into their marriages at this point and what’s the harm, really? Caleb’s dad reciprocated some of this (mostly the what couldve been), but he’s committed; he believes in his marriage and loves his wife despite the fact their intimacy is at an all time low and she seems to have little time for him anymore. But that’s fine since their youngest is almost out of the house, and they can focus on each other once Maddie is in college.
And then she tells him she has a boyfriend, and has for three or so years and she isn’t signing the contract again. She wants the magic binding them together to fade, to have him out of her house, out of her family, and to move on with her life. It's non-negotiable as it's clear that, while she doesn't verbalize it, that this had been, like many others, a marriage of convenience and his wife is ready to live how she hasn't been able to for 27 years.
This is understandably devastating and he tells his old friend, who just got seperated himself last year. His friend is sympathetic, understanding, having been checked out of his marriage a while ago but the divorce still stings as the family you are married into leaves you in the dust the second the contract expires. He’s quick to extend the offer again, this time not for a romantic getaway, but for a new start, promising no ulterior motives; he can keep his old feelings in check if Caleb’s dad doesn’t want anything to do with them.
So Caleb’s dad thinks about it for a week, dormant emotions always quick to reactivate, especially so in his fragile state. Nothing big or aching, just old musings and yearnings that what they used to have could’ve been more before he met and fell in love with his soon to be ex. So he agrees to move out, nothing really holding him back and having a career easy enough to find anywhere, making it clear that he’s not looking for more than friendship and a roommate but quietly not closed off to something more, perhaps a few months down the line when he’s a little more settled into his new life.
And one of you motherfuckers said 'can't wait the spinoff'. You know how easy i am to bait into writing about something. I'll write about middle aged dads finding new love and a new lease on life. I'll fucking do it.

doomed from the start as she was, she still grasped onto every thing about her, laughing loud and smiling wide. she acted without thought. or maybe without care that she tore their hearts out when she left.

despite having the occasional “tortured genius” moments, there’s really no route where he could have been “saved.” there’s nothing in his timeline which could make him good if it hadn’t happened. no one he could have met who could have changed his outlook. the Dark Stone was a pivotal moment from bad to worse, but the events of BW and BW2 would have happened regardless. if he had anticipated what would happen to him, he simply would have pursued N sooner rather than later. he’s always been selfish and overly ambitious. even in the best possible timeline, he’s only reduced to someone less threatening to global society.
but he knows he was born beyond salvation so he may as well break the world into something that suits him.

The Good Place characters and how fast they’d pick up on Dracula
Eleanor: If Eleanor came to Transylvania on a business trip it was definitely a scam on her part to begin with, so her mental transition would be going from “I am scamming this rich old guy” to “Maybe this rich old guy is scamming me?” She’d figure it out, but the question is whether she’d do so before throwing herself headlong into seduction by the vampire brides.
Chidi: On the one hand, Chidi would be desperately trying not to judge Dracula for different cultural customs and be polite to the point of endangering himself. On the other hand, William Jackson Harper said Chidi would have survived Midsommar because he would have bolted the second things started to get weird, so by that logic he might have just frozen in place when the villagers warned him about the castle, panicked about whether it was worse to break his business promises or offend their cultural customs, and not gotten on the carriage.
Tahani: Tahani wants to make a good impression on aristocracy. Tahani is doomed.
Jason: I actually think Jason would figure out that Dracula was bad news pretty quickly, just not necessarily that he was a vampire. He’d start by going everywhere he wasn’t supposed to, learn this dude is some kind of serial killer kingpin, and then when Dracula says “You can go but there are wolves outside!” Jason would say “Sweet, bro!” and go out and get eaten by wolves.

Zoro aging like milk compared to Sanji is the funniest thing to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zoro still looks good asf but ik for a fact Sanji was telling Zoro to keep up with his skin routine. Zoro was like “Nah bro I’m Japanese we don’t age💀” then he starts getting wrinkles at 35 while Sanji didn’t get wrinkles until he was in his late 60s. Also Zoro was an alcoholic since the age 16 like bro was doomed from the start 😭. I wouldn’t be surprised if some people thought Zoro was 20+ years older than Sanji and Zoro would be like “HES ACTUALLY OLDER THAN ME!!!”
