You know how, when you walk into a room and forget why you came in there, sometimes walking back through the doorway helps you remember?

I just had an idea while scrolling tumblr, forgot what it was while I was scrolling, and had to scroll all the way back looking for the post I was reading when I had the idea in order to remember it. I had to stare at the post for thirty solid seconds before I remembered, but I was sure it was that post.

It was a video of a puppy whose tail goes tocktocktock whenever you boop his nose and the idea was about the nightmares I am going to give my character in the fic I'm writing. Nothing to do with each other at all. Absolutely could not remember the idea until I found the puppy video.

I'm super ill so I'm rewatching The Phantom of the Paradise in between sneezing and blowing my nose. Every so often I switch to a different film with William Finley in it that I'm watching purely because I need More of Anything Related to POTP Now or I will die

Also I'm considering trying out making video edits because of this film. There's not enough content to fuel the hyperfixation and I'm gonna do the "make the Content You wish to see in the world" thingy. I know they take a lot of work but I'm so hyperfixated and ready to dive in

#this has been a really weird time mostly bc this is NOT how my hyperfixations manifest #i do not rewatch films immediately after first viewing. usually i have to wait at least 6 months to watch again #and yet #I've rewatched Nope 2022 a few weeks ago and now I'm on a SECOND rewatch of POTP after my initial watch 3 days ago #very very bizarre brain vibes happeninh #i think it's because I've been really poorly and unable to get out much? and I'm finding ways to Rewatch that feel novel enough #like novel enough that my adhd brain is able to concentrate on the same film so soon #it is really odd being aware of changes in your behaviours as they happen #also I'm ill enough that i can't concentrate on anything difficult so it's good to watch something i know I'll enjoy and is easy to process #brains man #can't wait to die tomorrow at work while thinking about potp constantly #also usually i don't get so overwhelmed by any media hyperfixations. usually I'm focusing on my gardening #BUT i can't do that atm so i guess my brain's like U Gotta Do Something #phantom of the paradise #phantom of the paradise 1974

i'm very picky about tv shows, but my pickiness has only an incidental relationship to whether or not a show is "good". it needs to scratch a particular itch in my brain at the right moment. do i know what the right moment is? no. do i know what the itch is? also no. i can be relied upon to get instantly bored of 85% of tv shows and then turn the remaining 15% into a central facet of my personality for 3-5 business months and even i am incapable of predicting which one it'll be ahead of time.
