Jedi Headcanon #1
While the Room of a Thousand Fountains and the rooftop gardens are the most well-known green spaces of the Jedi Temple, dozens of other smaller gardens and greenhouses can be found throughout, preserving and recreating the landscapes of some of the hundreds of home worlds of the Jedi. These gardens are used for meditation, education and study in equal parts, preparing young Jedi to survive in a variety of planetary conditions.

I suspect that powder is aconitum, derived from wolfbane.(...). - You are an expert in botany as well as criminology now?!
And as Jack could not impress Phryne with his ancient Hebrew he had to brush up on his botany.
As Jack didn't see her garter (...) Phryne had to think of something else to impose...

Hemi-parasatic! Of the genus viscum.
And Phryne looks very impressed 😻. Obviously her kisses can be compelled by considerable knowledge of plants. If Aunt P hadn't interrupted (again ...) they would have had to cover Jane's eyes.

A White woman with sun-kissed, flowing hair is a guardian of nature's remedies in a garden that blooms with healing herbs and plants. Her hands move with an almost reverential touch as she picks leaves, the sleeves of her earth-toned linen dress rolled up to her elbows. The garden is her sanctuary, and she is its knowledgeable keeper, the earth under her fingernails a badge of her passion. In the midst of greenery, she grinds the herbs with a mortar and pestle, her concentration absolute. Her knowledge of botanicals is deep, handed down through generations, and she blends them with an intuition honed by years of study and respect for the natural world.

🌸 - would they like getting flowers from their partner?
Unusual Character Asks (Accepting for: Zvonimir (the pacifist), Eshne (the bastard) , Li ( forest trash ) , Arion (the depressed) and Sonnehilde (the illusionist) . Unspecified defaults to Zvonimir. 🌸 - would they like getting flowers from their partner?
Yes! He absolutely would -- as long as the flowers didn't mean anything nasty, he's been on the receiving end of too many angry floral messages, and not even for scorning a lover!
example bouquet calling one a claimless horror and ill omen:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zvonimir is extremely well versed the language of flowers, having spent probably a little too much time in his family's sprawling, extravagant modest gardens when he wasn't fumbling about in the hay with the stableboy or being incredibly studious in matters that definitely come in handy in any real world setting. (spoiler; they don't. )
He would often leave small offerings of his sentiments in said stables for that crush, but he never did ask if the other knew what they meant. It'd be nice to have some sentiments returned, especially in such a poetic sense. example bouquet declaring a secret love and admiration that only the recipient deserves

while there are so many things seraphina knows,   and she attempts to keep most of her knowledge active,  one area of knowledge that seraphina will never fall out of practice of is her botanical knowledge:     as woman of the woods,    she essentially watched over and cared for her own  (  as they were often left untouched by others  )   woods and this gave her such an extensive knowledge on the plant life around her.    as new plants were introduced by travelers and the animals,    so her knowledge grew.

(volume 2, page 41)
Botan having a canonically unknown age and birthday has much potential for plot ideas and headcanons.... I know most people read her as being middle-school-aged, but honestly I read her as being a grown (superantural) woman playing pretend at being a kid bc it's fun and people pay less attention to a kid than to an adult. (Coming to mind, Atsuko wearing Keiko's uniform which was sold to her by Yusuke in the epilogue chapters.) Also makes for funny hijinks for if someone figures out her deal!
Personally I think she's at her funniest if thought of as being in her actual thirties and in denial abt it. Like she died and became a ferrygirl instead of doing the normal thing and reincarnating (or.........? [1]). Either way, by the time we meet her in the canon narrative start, she's in her 30s. She's older than Atsuko and once made aware of it she Hates It! [2]
Okay but canon evidence for Botan being at least 20 years old:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shizuru: the one who came up with the idea for the drinking in the first place. Immediately red-faced. Immediately seems a little bit drunk.
Botan: is chugging. And for several seconds more than Shizuru is, halts to admire it (like she's pleasantly surprised about the taste), and gets right back to it.
In the Dark Tournament, there's the evening after the fight with team Rokuyukai [ep 33: "A Day in Waiting"]: Botan and Shizuru drink alcohol while Keiko drinks juice. Shizuru is 17-18 during the course of the series, having turned 18 by the time of the Dark Tournament in the manga [volume 12, chapter 108, page 143] and is in her early twenties in the anime (likely aged up bc of the legal drinking age being 20, and because someone wanted to extend the scene a little and have it end on a funny note) [episode 63, 13 minutes in]. She mentions as much in the Toguro-Yusuke fight, in the latter half and a little before Toguro gets inspiration on how to make Yusuke fight him better.
Tumblr media
There is the possibility that she's a minor and pretending not to be, but 1) I don't think Shizuru's intuition would fail her like that, and 2) I don't believe either of them would encourage underage drinking, least of all in front of Keiko.
Follow-up Questions!
[1] .... did she accumulate some sins somehow...? What kind has she committed, was Botan like a serial offender?? ...or.. is it a similar deal to Yusuke's, "we saved you somehow, you owe us your labour"...? or... did she go to ferrygirl university and spend 10 years to her studies [1-b]
[1-b] What is the real-world equivalent to a ferry-girl education and job? An end-of-life nurse? A loan shark? An accountant office worker? (later) A COMPETITVE ROWER (the oar)????
[2] I think it's funny if she hates it, and it adds a sense of baggage Yusuke has towards adults and authority figures if she is one (he just can't escape it!!) and I especially think it's funny if she's figuratively losing hair from the stress of helping Yusuke out wo telling him everything (the spirit beast egg eating him if he's "being bad"). Her being in her 30s and in denial abt it just feels like a natural part of that progresion. But I could see her embrace her age too? "Glomping you :3" is very Botan, I just personally like to put her through the comical wringers.

Planning Your Mini Garden Space and Creating Your Own Oasis:
A Step-by-Step Guide to Growing a Mini Garden Initiating a tiny garden in your backyard requires careful site selection before you can start planting your green haven.
Think about how much sunlight the area gets, how easily it can be maintained, and how accessible it is for watering.
🌿Choosing the Right Plants
Selecting the right plants is crucial for the success of your mini garden. Opt for plants that thrive in your local climate and consider the size of the plants when fully grown. Mix and match different varieties to add texture and color to your mini garden.
🌿Building Your Mini Garden Bed
Once you've chosen the plants, it's time to create the mini garden bed. You can use various containers such as pots, crates, or even repurposed items like old tires or barrels. Ensure proper drainage to prevent root rot and choose a high-quality potting mix for optimal plant growth.
🌿Planting and Arranging Your Mini Garden
When planting your mini garden, arrange the plants in a visually appealing manner, keeping in mind the growth patterns and space requirements of each plant. Consider adding decorative elements such as miniature furniture or fairy lights to enhance the charm of your mini garden.
🌿Caring for Your Mini Garden
Regular maintenance is key to keeping your mini garden flourishing. Water your plants as needed, keeping in mind the specific requirements of each plant. Remove any weeds promptly and fertilize your plants to promote healthy growth.
🌿Enjoying Your Mini Garden Oasis
Sit back, relax, and bask in the beauty of your mini garden oasis. Take time to appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds you and relish in the tranquility that your mini garden brings to your backyard.
In conclusion, creating a mini garden in your backyard is a rewarding and fulfilling project that allows you to unleash your creativity and connect with nature. Follow these steps to bring your mini garden oasis to life and enjoy a little slice of paradise right in your own backyard.

Been Watching Weird Fruit Explorer(?)... and I just...
W-Who let Bored Danny have BooTube?
Sorry, YOU-Tube. He has TWO Apps now. BooTube is bigger. Way more random, yet... somehow more niche? Meh. It's what happens when you get billions of billions of people who all have their own Obsessions to rant over, on a site.
Ember's channel is pretty lit, tho, ngl.
He stopped using YOU-Tube almost overnight. Too many ads, weird algorithmic pushiness. No thanks. It was too small and too "trying to take my money". You know?
Buuuuut? See.... TUCKER is the Tech guy.
Coding and that sort of stuff. HE does hands on work. You want a toaster? He can MAKE you a toaster! With LAZERS! Runs off The Goo! But a program? Eeeeeeeh? Hit it with hammer maybe? Monkey make fire? Hit with stick? Blergh.
Yeah, he can SORTA push through.
But he suuuucks.
And like... he had a headache, okay? His project had just, quiet literally, exploded in his face. So when he looked at his phone? All the apps were blobs. He clicked the one that LOOKED kinda right. Shoved his arm in his phone and brute forced a channel set up.
He figured he could ramble about Space!
It's not like he cared is anyone LISTENS or not! It's a "for him" thing, you know? Like a diary. But more... putting on a ☆~show~☆?
So he rambles from the floor of his Lair's Lab, crashs and wails in the distance, green sky occasionally visible as he lazily floats by windows. Dropping... juuuust past human knowledge understanding of Space. Talking like he's STUDYING somewhere. Referencing PAPERS no human will ever be able to find.
But a few they WILL.
Some of which, are currently? Only half written.
But then? Oh YEAH... he should eat! You know... Sam keeps bringing him fruits and veggies and stuff from her internship at that Botanical Lair. Stuff never seen before of Earth. Or hasn't been seen in centuries.
Again, like, a FEW that? Randomly? Have???
He picks up something sharply purple, bright orange insides. Crisp crunch. He makes a face. And starts to ramble about it, distracted from Space. "Weirdly mushroom-y" he notes. "Kinda bubblegum sweet? But like... CHEAP bubblegum. Like it hits you all at once and is kinda chemically. But it disappears real fast? Huh. Spicy too..."
It's the first video on the Playlist. One of hundreds. Two of the green Lanterns RECONIZE that fruit ad HIGHLY toxic to humans, can't recognize what planet they're seeing. Or how this alien teen got himself on YouTube.
He seems... unaware of how incredibly famous he's become.
But his strange techno Pharoah friend has not. HE is both perfectly aware and apparently amused. Has taken to feeding him rare and hazardous flora and fauna, to see if it tastes good.
....there have been an alarming number of plants from dead planets.
And the comments the kid makes? Alarming as hell.
Sam's just pleased everybody's getting their greens. Danny's glad him n tuck get to hang and do "try weird foods and fuck around, bro time". They've made lazers! Talked about stuff! Debated why Martian Manhunter is THE superior Justice League member.
Danny understands. Wonder Woman is a BAMF. But he's biased, Tucker. He doesn't CARE if she has a sword and flowy, impressive locks! Shape-shifting telepath! From MARS!!! *imaginary mic drop*
And Tucker? Is conquering the YouTube scene with this charming, weird, relatable young alien. Who rambles about Space, debates nerd stuff, eats weird plants and describes them, and makes sci-fi technology! Theme? WHAT THEME? Phantom is a weird channel, man. You never know what you'll find!
And no one can get rid of it.
Believe them, governments have TRIED. Censorship? Not possible. Not without removing the whole SITE.

in addition to being prone to an obvious naturalistic fallacy, the oft-repeated claim that various supplements / herbs / botanicals are being somehow suppressed by pharmaceutical interests seeking to protect their own profits ('they would rather sell you a pill') belies a clear misunderstanding of the relationship between 'industrial' pharmacology and plant matter. bioprospecting, the search for plants and molecular components of plants that can be developed into commercial products, has been one of the economic motivations and rationalisations for european colonialism and imperialism since the so-called 'age of exploration'. state-funded bioprospectors specifically sought 'exotic' plants that could be imported to europe and sold as food or materia medica—often both, as in the cases of coffee or chocolate—or, even better, cultivated in 'economic' botanical gardens attached to universities, medical schools, or royal palaces and scientific institutions.
this fundamental attitude toward the knowledge systems and medical practices of colonised people—the position, characterising eg much 'ethnobotany', that such knowledge is a resource for imperialist powers and pharmaceutical manufacturers to mine and profit from—is not some kind of bygone historical relic. for example, since the 1880s companies including pfizer, bristol-myers squibb, and unilever have sought to create pharmaceuticals from african medicinal plants, such as strophanthus, cryptolepis, and grains of paradise. in india, state-created databases of valuable 'traditional' medicines have appeared partly in response to a revival of bioprospecting since the 1980s, in an increasingly bureaucratised form characterised by profit-sharing agreements between scientists and local communities that has nonetheless been referred to as "biocapitalism". a 1990 paper published in the proceedings of the novartis foundation symposium (then the ciba foundation symposium) spelled out this form of epistemic colonialism quite bluntly:
Ethnobotany, ethnomedicine, folk medicine and traditional medicine can provide information that is useful as a 'pre-screen' to select plants for experimental pharmacological studies.
there is no inherent oppositional relationship between pharmaceutical industry and 'natural' or plant-based cures. there are of course plenty of examples of bioprospecting that failed to translate into consumer markets: ginseng, introduced to europe in the 17th century through the mercantile system and the east india company, found only limited success in european pharmacology. and there are cases in which knowledge with potential market value has actually been suppressed for other reasons: the peacock flower, used as an abortifacient in the west indies, was 'discovered' by colonial bioprospectors in the 18th century; the plant itself moved easily to europe, but knowledge of its use in reproductive medicine became the subject of a "culturally cultivated ignorance," resulting from a combination of funding priorities, national policies, colonial trade patterns, gender politics, and the functioning of scientific institutions. this form of knowledge suppression was never the result of a conflict wherein bioprospectors or pharmacists viewed the peacock flower as a threat to their own profits; on the contrary, they essentially sacrificed potential financial benefits as a result of the political and social factors that made abortifacient knowledge 'unknowable' in certain state and commercial contexts.
exploitation of plant matter in pharmacology is not a frictionless or infallible process. but the sort of conspiratorial thinking that attempts to position plant therapeutics and 'big pharma' as oppositional or competitive forces is an ahistorical and opportunistic example of appealing to nominally anti-capitalist rhetoric without any deeper understanding of the actual mechanisms of capitalism and colonialism at play. this is of course true whether or not the person making such claims has any personal financial stake in them, though it is of course also true that, often, they do hold such stakes.
