Okay, conspiracy theory time: if Blitzwing being an Autobot experiment was indeed the original backstory planned for him, it ended up being revised into Malware’s backstory

I mean, a specimen with unique abilities amongst their species associated with machinery created by supposed good guy scientist(s) who “came out wrong” in a sense and was driven mad by the mental strain of it, turned rogue as a result of being mistreated by their creators, became a homicidal maniac hellbent on revenge, AND the same guy worked as a character designer on their respective shows? It just makes too much sense.

I mean with how much canon that Derrick J. Wyatt had creative input on, it would certainly not be too farfetched for some older unexplored ideas to be actually put into practice haha. I do love me some morally grey (and like, genuinely grey regardless of how bright or dark the shade) allies and protagonists, even if it has to come at the cost of the mental and physical health of certain antagonists /hj-

Blitzwing may not have had that much focus as a 'character plagued by the narrative' to have explored the implied trauma beyond him serving as one of the main villains with a unique triple changer feature, Malware being rather explicitly that 'someone you should care about' mixed in with the whole 'irredeemable asshole' schtick was very much a little dicey yeet- he deserved a redemption arc if he was to be written as much of a victim of circumstance and ensuing abandonment as he was 😔

knockout keeps getting roasted bc of his vanity. heatwave wont stop doing starscream’s voice perfectly and using it to mock him. chase just told megatron his ship is in terrible condition and does he even take care of it? boulder accidentally implied shockwave’s experiments are ridiculous. blades intentionally implied that right after tho so everyone forgot about boulder. soundwave is losing his shit bc how did he not detect these guys, they flew under his radar, lazerbeak no dont play with the firetruck he's crazy and so is the dog.

after everyone calms down a little the decepticons realize they really like these bots (especially bc starscream hates them) (heatwave please stop doing the voice its really good but still) and they start vibing. megs offers them some cocaine dark energon to snort look at. breakdown lobs with heatwave and loses his shit when he realizes this little guy is way better than him (he learns hw was a champion and loses it even more). blades tries to hang out with dreadwing but that guys really scares him so he ends up following the others around. chase tries to educate the vehicons on their workers rights (they mostly zone out because he kept talking for like three hours). boulder does upgrades on their ship and becomes friends with soundwave and shockwave for being chiller and smarter than the others (hes the wave whisperer or something).

optimus is understandably losing his mind at this new development (no, megatron, you cannot “borrow” the rescue bots for a few days. wha— NO you can’t have SHARED CUSTODY!) (he’s worried about his kids). this is how the other autobots learn about the rescue bots too. bumblebee can’t stand knockout’s constant references to him and blades (“we’re JUST FRIENDS knockout. don’t look at me like that”)

Bot who's a triple changer, similar to (Tfa) Blitzwing, except instead of Hothead, Icy and Random personas, they had their own personas

(You can change the personas, if you like) Bot has their own personas and these are (1st: Performer/Jester/other), (2nd: Guard/ villain/other), & (3rd: Caregiver/ Whimsy/ other) personas

(1st) persona known for being extrovert-like, yet anxious, and priorities safety of others. (2nd) persona known for being introvert-like, yet can be aggressive/menace and priorities security of others. Lastly, The (3rd) persona known as a balance/combination of (1st)'s and (2nd)'s, they're calm, gentle, and whimsical

Bot and their personas shared some personality traits, such as being oriented on care task/work, for bots (cybertronians & earth ones), humans, and other beings, especially young ones, being parent/guardian figure friend

Bot's origin: (You can change the origins) Bot used to be a famous Performer that loved and inspired others especially the young ones. Until Bot was chosen to be part of the triple changer experiment by Science Department of Cybertron after having found old files of Blitzwing’s triple changer experiment.

Whether it was successful or not, they successfully replicated the triple changer mod. However, to make sure Bot gets used to the new mod and get a handle on things, they 'convince' Bot to learn to control and handle being a triple changer.

Bot became a runaway autobot and came to earth. at first, bot decides to travel until Bot became some sort of performer/artist, community helper, and/or local caregiver/babysitter and oftentimes do guard duty

Team Prime react to Triple Changer Bot Buddy

Before the war, Buddy used to be a nobody. They knew this. They weren’t an outlier or had any useful intelligence that would help them in a lab.

They did jobs here and there for the Autobots when the war broke out. The longest job they had was being a glorified messenger between generals and any higher up in Iacon. They were approached to go under a super soldier program, Buddy was right behind them. If this meant they could take their home world from the Decepticon’s then they will participate in it.

They didn’t know that the program was going to have such… dire side effects.

Their frame had been reformatted to be more war frame like. A frame to cause more damage. If that had been its Buddy honestly would have been fine with it.

It wasn’t until they started dealing with their processor that Buddy realized that the experiments weren’t as ethical as they had originally thought. This ‘program’ was hidden under wraps for a reason.

Their personalities had been split into three.

The first side was named Jester. They liked goofing off and making any bot laugh with their antics and jokes. They got on the guards’ nerves every now and then.

The second side was Guardian, they were a quiet soul that kept to themselves. But turned extremely aggressive when something they held dear was in danger.

The last side was Carrier, they were the calmest side that tried holding the balance between Jester’s loud antics and Guardian’s aggression to their enemies. They were considered one of the most dangerous side of the three.

Buddy felt like a monster.

A little after the experimentation was wrapping up, Buddy overheard some of the guards talking about how much of a waste of personalities they were and how they were going to permanently fix that the next day.

Buddy was horrified at the thought of going through the experimentation again. Something all three of their personalities could agree on.

So, they did the only logical thing.

They escaped.

They hopped into an escape pod that night, punched in random coordinates, and took off.

They ended up crashing on a quiet little planet called Earth, near a city called Detroit. They kept their vehicle form and went over to introduce themselves to the natives to ask for refuge.

They met a funny man named Issac Sumdac, he too was new to the city.

“Hello!”--Jester

“Hello?”—Prof. Sumdac

“We are Buddy. We seek for a safe haven on this planet.”--Carrier

“Safe haven?”—Prof.Sumdac

“Would it be possible to stay with you? We promise not to be a burden to you.”--Carrier

“Um…”—Prof. Sumdac

“Oh, thank you Mr.! We won’t let you down!”--Jester

“But—never mind. What is happening with your…”—Prof. Sumdac

“Why you gotta problem with that?”--Guardian

“No—”—Prof. Sumdac

“Sorry about that. Guardian is quite protective of us. I am Carrier, they other one is Jester.”--Carrier

“Oh… okay… what is it with me and robots?”—Prof. Sumdac

“What was that?”--Guardian

“Nothing!”—Prof. Sumdac

With Buddy’s help with some mechanics, Sumdac was able to start his life in the city. Though they did question why some of these materials looked familiar. But it wasn’t their business, so they left it alone.

While Sumdac started his robotics, Buddy decided to help the community that as of now was nothing but kind to them. Well besides some stray hagglers.

They created an outdoor daycare for the little ones. Sure, at first no one wanted to leave their kids with this giant evil looking robot, which Buddy understood completely no matter how badly it stung.

But as soon they did start getting kids under their care, Buddy proved to them that they could be trustworthy.

“Hello Ms. Jones, how was your day?”--Carrier

“Oh, Carrier you have no idea the amount of traffic today! I thought I was gonna loose my mind!”—Ms. Jones

“Sorry to hear about that Ms. Jones. Oh, here’s Johnny.”--Carrier

“Mom!”--Johnny

“Baby! How was your day?”—Ms. Jones

“I had so much fun! Jester gave me a coloring book and some crayons with my favorite superheroes!”—Johnny

“Wow honey! Now what do you say?”—Ms. Jones

“Thank you, Buddy!”--Johnny

“You’re welcome!”--Buddy

“You’re a blessing Buddy. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.”—Ms. Jones

“I’m just glad to be able to do my job Ms. Jones.”--Buddy

“No, but really if someone says something mean, call me. I’ll make sure their month is ruined.”—Ms. Jones

Jester made sure that all the kids were entertained and having a great time. Guardian kept a watchful optic out for any kid trying to escape the daycare; for any creeps that wanted to take the kids; and especially for any signs for abusive parents. Fanzone has lost count how many calls he has gotten from Buddy about the parents. Carrier was thriving in this environment. They loved telling the kids bedtime stories, fixing their boo boo’s, and teaching some basic schooling.

When Sumdac came with Sari for the first time, Buddy pulled him aside to tell him that what he had was a sparkling, a cybertronain sparkling. They were shocked hearing that Sumdac didn’t want to tell Sari the truth of what she was. Buddy ended up compromising with him to at least tell her when she is older, so she could at least cherish her childhood.

Sari loved Buddy and all their sides. She became a regular at the daycare after hours since Sumdac would always be couped up in his office.

“Hey Buddy!”--Sari

“Sari?”--Buddy

“The one and only!”--Sari

“Is your dad still in the office?”--Guardian

“Yeah…”--Sari

“You want me to go and get him?”--Guardian

“Nah, he’s still doing work… Buddy?”--Sari

“Yes?”--Buddy

“Do you ever feel like you don’t belong?”--Sari

“Yeah, I mean look at me. I’m not exactly someone who’s going to blend in the crowd.”--Jester

Buddy became a second parental figure to Sari.

Buddy met Team Prime when the city started getting evacuated. As the Earth shook, Buddy rounded up all the kids and flew them to the nearest shelters. They suddenly realized that they were being under attack after hearing the familiar sounds of blasters in the air.

Part of them wanted to deal with the problem themselves, but the sounds of the kids crying pulled them back to reality. Buddy had to put the kid’s safety first, and by judging the sounds of blasters being shared, someone else was dealing with the threat. Plus, Buddy didn’t like the looks of the walls in the shelter.

Buddy covered all the kids with their huge body when the roof fell slightly on them. Buddy held on strong. The only thing they could hope for now was the threat being dealt with and that the Sumdac’s were okay.

Meanwhile…

Sari was introducing themselves properly to the Autobots when they suddenly remembered about Buddy.

“Oh no Buddy!”--Sari

“Who?”--Ratchet

“My friend, I don’t know if they’re okay! Please you gotta help me find them!”--Sari

“You got it Sari!”--Bumblebee

Buddy in the meantime had dug themselves out of the wreckage of the shelter and was carrying the uninjured kids out and back to the remains of the outdoor daycare. They brushed some of the debris with their pede to try and make some room to put down the children when they heard their name being called.

Buddy quickly put the kids down on the debris free ground and turned around.

It was Sari coming out of… a new version of Captain Fanzone’s car? And several emergency vechilces?

Oh…

Oh no…

Are those Autobots!?

Bots who tried to fight Buddy on sight:

The following bots immediately thought Buddy was a Decepticon and tried to fight them. Guardian was very angry seeing the blasters pointed towards them and their kids.

Sari luckily deescalated the situation before Guardian decided to let loose.

Bots who want to climb Buddy’s giant armor:

After the eventful first meet, Buddy starts helping the Team with some patrols or extra muscle when they don’t have work. Seeing the kids climb on Buddy gives them an idea to do it on patrol to ‘gain the high ground’. Carrier just rolls with it.

Bots who help Buddy out in the daycare:

These bots want to help Buddy’s load. They know that rebuilding the city, dealing with Decepticon, and still having to go back to work is a hassle. They give Buddy an extra servo when looking after the kids. They do it in their own special ways, something that Jester appreciates when they are running out of jokes and coloring books.

Cliffjumper painted his faceplate to give himself similar details to Bumblebee’s outlier looks. Bumblebee liked that.

Megatron was the size of an emu when he was a sparkling. He could fit into a Cybertronian teacup.

Astrotrain had a conjunx and a couple of sparklings on the way before the war, but they all died near the start of the war. After the Triple Changer Experiment, Astrotrain forgot about them.

Minibot sparklings immediately become attached on their sire, carrier, or anyone who cares for them because they need someone to depend on to survive.

Cybertronians can either be forged or born as sparklings. Originally they could only be forged, but after Primus noticed that Unicron’s forces were destroying all of the forges or taking them over, he gave Cybertronians the other way to make sure they wouldn’t all die off

Primus has actually walked among Cybertronians, but since no one has a set form for him, no one notices unless he announces it or someone connects the dots together

Primus looks different to everyone.

Megatron is scared of Primus

Seekers are never forged, only sparklings

Like you have Nightshade and Jawbreaker with beast and dinosaurs modes, Twitch can fly and is a mini bot…

And I swear Hashtag is an outlier with her hacking stuff.

So like, are we going to see a triple changer? Maybe a city speaker for a real twist? Maybe a new set of triplets that are seekers so trine stuff?

Or best yet, a combiner.

Could be the original or new kids but would be fun and a great excuse to bring Breakdown into the group as he would have experience as part of a combiner group.

Maybe not the best, depending on how they go with the Stunticons like Motormaster.

Of course, Blitz rightfully returns the minibot to the ground after he's done, even makes sure he's not injured in any way, what a gentlemech.

When Shockwave learns what happened then Starscream will have to watch out for his oil cuz that shit might be poisoned again. Prowl is just suffering cuz why do so many people want Bee in particular? He only wants to be happy with the scout, he didn't think there will be a literal fight over his Spark.

Starscream didn't really know what was happening and only saw all these disasters trying to flirt with Bee. He does shit to piss everyone off, that's just how he is. Whenever Starscream is targeting Bee in battles, he's getting his aft handed back to him by Blitz who is always hiding somewhere to watch and save his little love if needed. Literally no one is allowed to hurt Bee under any circumstances or else they'll experience the wrath of a Triple Changer. And don't be fooled, Prowl may be small but he's fast and nimble and will waste thousands of his shurikens just to make you forget you even saw Bee. You're already dead with Shockwave/Longarm- literally. This mf has your personal files deleted or with a note of you passing away and then he will take care of you in ways you cannot imagine.

HUZZAH, Optimus is letting all the bots stationed in the safe and developing areas on Earth (including Prof Baranova’s lab and Faxian) choose another vehicle mode, including Heatwave ‼️‼️‼️ this is gonna be a REALLY interesting and chaotic experience…

Heatwave: Heatwave is (probably not) satisfied with whatever he already has, but he would scan a tank whenever he gets the chance, Kade obviously encourages him no one ever took him to museums because of this, but knowing Optimus is letting the bots choose whatever they want, no one can refuse and reason with Heatwave and his deep interest with such vehicles.

Salvage + Boulder: Since Griffin Rock is constantly and rapidly advancing in technology, Boulder and Salvage want to help! Salvage is considering becoming a bulldozer like Boulder. Boulder wants to be a crane to help lift heavy things to higher altitudes. Graham is really happy and supportive about this.

Chase: Although it seems unlikely, Chase had always wanted to experience the thrill of chasing crime from the skies: A police helicopter! Blades had tried many times to talk Chase through it, as he is a helicopter himself, but gave up as Chase kept pulling several papers he typed and printed out himself explaining why he wants to add a helicopter to his list of his desired vehicle modes. (yes, he has a whole list of vehicle modes he wants) Chief Burns greatly questions Chase’s sanity along with everyone else’s.

Blades: The burning feeling of jealousy that rises whenever he sees Dani getting along with the sports cars on the team, including Bumblebee, and his fear of heights that never seems to go away, Blades desperately wants to have a sports car as his third alt mode and try to “fit in.” Yeah, I’m referencing to the episode ‘odd bot out’ Blades had a private talk with Dani and Chief Burns about this and they finally understand his point of view. They fully support his decision.

Blurr: Everyone is horrified of what Blurr will choose, especially Heatwave, though he is more annoyed than afraid. After the incident of Blurr almost blowing his cover by grandly interrupting a race, he did not let that hold him back despite still feeling extremely guilty about it.

Blurr chose to have the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut as his third alt mode and professor Baranova just about fainted and heatwave exploded with complete frustration, Quickshadow questions her place in their little race matches they have every now and then now that Blurr has made his decision. Every time she and Blurr walk by each other or interact, he flashes her a snarky smirk, making Quickshadow want to beat the living frag out of him, the only thing stopping every bot from doing so physically is the law (and Chief Burns) Blurr is quite proud of himself for this, but Quickshadow warns him to stay close to her during earliween and anytime that any outsiders and tourists enter the island: Remembering Quickshadows experience during her first year on Griffin rock, Blurr obliges.

Servo: Nobody expected Servo out of everyone on the team to speak, or I should say, bark up about what he wants. To make this sweet and simple and just as horrifying as Blurr’s case, Servo wants to become a Tibetan Mastiff. High tide immediately lightens up at the thought of having a bigger, more intimidating dog on his ship deck, CeCe starts crying when she sees a picture of the said dog breed, Chief Burns instantly becomes even more concerned for the well-being of his family.

Hightide:

“I already got a giant ship that transforms into a Megabot, I’m personally already a submarine, do ah really need anything else??? OH, I KNOW HOW ‘BOUT AH BIGGER SHIP!?!?!?!?!?! HAHAHAHAHA-“ *maniacal laughter while Heatwave sobs and yells in the background and Optimus simply blank stares at his old comrade, deciding whether or not to question or support Hightide’s decision.*

Quickshadow (saving my fav pookie for last): for some reason, Quickshadow instantly becomes quiet when the opportunity of scanning a new alt mode is brought up to her. Optimus and Hightide, knowing her better than anyone else since she served alongside them on the front lines during the war on Cybertron, approaches Quickshadow in a way that won’t startle her. Once Quickshadows emotional state is revealed to the rest of the team, they immediately come to the conclusion that the reason for her sudden emotional instability was because of what happened during her first Earliween on Griffin Rock. Quickshadow is approached again about this;

“I have thought about it, I do not think I would like a new alt mode, the vehicle mode I already have is an all-terrain anyway…”

It is true, Quickshadow has powerful rocket engines that can aid her in both bot and vehicle mode, she can turn into a submersible and can drive up to incredible, staggering speeds on the road. Earliween wasalready approaching seeing it is almost November, so everyone decides to keep Quickshadow close to them and support her decision of not choosing another vehicle mode. Optimus promised to stay for Earliween too, as last by as the reconstruction of Cybertron does not bring up any sudden issues in his absence.

And once again, the rescue bots are in chaos.

how would your version of blitzwing and bumblebee interact with each other? also i find your art so cool <3

My version of Blitzwing is a lot darker than how they are portrayed in TFA, but they're generally the same person, and since both these versions I've imagine exist after the events of TFA, their perception of each other would be pretty sorted out, or familiar so to speak. I think Bumblebee would still be the constant comical witty nuisance he is in the show to the triple changer, but after the events of TFA would find Blitz to be either more diabolical or sad if he'd figured out Blitzwing's whole backstory. Blitzwing on the other hand probably wouldn't know what to think of it, since my version of them is basically a failed combiner experiment, they're three different people in one body, and each has their own thoughts about em Icy is a tired, overworked, and analytical wine mom who often sees Bumblebee as a brat with no class. He tries his best to ignore him, but usually always gets wrapped up with him somehow, which tends to mess with his own feelings about the other. He's very anti-social but often drifts to warmer-sparked individuals unconsciously. Hot-Head is an old tough fucker who gets absolutely infuriated whenever Bumblebee tries pestering him. He doesn't understand half the things the bot spits at him at times, and usually tries to come back with violence and threats. He'd probably take the longest to get accustomed to Bumblebee's presence (partly because he'd be jealous/flustered by the attention he'd give the others and him), however, he'd no doubt become one of the most protective if Bee ever became friends with them. Random is an innocent crackhead with the ferocity of a rabid starved dog but the curiosity and stupidity of a cat. He is completely unpredictable, and often gets the whole party into trouble just by opening his mouth. He's probably the most fascinated by Bumblebee, and probably is the only one who wants to either hug him or eat him on sight, the lines blur often. If Bee got closer with Blitz, I'd say Random would be the most socially entitled to speaking with Bee, but always restrained by the other two due to his feral nature.

I honestly haven't thought about how my version of Blitzwing would interact with others since I generally either write that stuff out or rp it with friends, which I haven't gotten the time to do both really heh. Hope this mess makes sense though ^^;;

"Hey! Where do you think you're going?" Sentinel snapped as Ratchet rushed to head outside only to get stopped by Optimus.

"Ratchet, wait." Optimus said. "It could be a trap."

"Trap my aft! He has Y/D!" Ratchet snapped.

"Not just Y/D." Jazz said. "That little organic thing is with him too."

"What?" Optimus questioned as he looked back at the monitor and saw Sari right by Blitzwing's pede. "Oh, scrap."

-with Blitzwing-

"Come on, you stupid oafs!" Blitzwing quietly cursed to himself. "I'm risking a lot here!"

"Just give them a second Blitzwing." Sari said. "Keep yelling, and they should hear you."

"I do not understand why you are helping, small thing."

"Because you want to help Y/D get better, and so do i." She said with a small smile. "Plus, I know about you two love birds."

"Ohoho! Is a love bird pretty?" Blitzwing's Random persona cackled.

"Erm, sure?" The pair heard the entryway hiss open and dropped down, their attentions immediately turning to the source.

"Decepticon! Stand down!" Sentinel snapped as he and the others readied themselves. Blitzwing swapped to his Icy persona and stared down the mech with a glare.

"No, no! He's not going to hurt you!" Sari called out to the bots.

"Sari! Get away from him!" Bumblebee yelled as he and the others Autobots made their appearance.

"Please! Just listen!" She said. "Blitzwing isn't here to hurt anyone!" She then looked up at the triple changer who was now gently stroking my flushed and scalding hot cheek with a digit and a very concerned look. "He's here to help Y/D."

"Help?! That slagger took him!" Ratchet snapped.

"BECAUSE MEGATRON VOULD HAVE KILLED ME IF I DIDN'T!" Blitzwing's Hothead persona snapped. "I BROUGHT HIM HERE BECAUSE HE NEEDS HELP! AND BECAUSE I CARE ABOUT HIM MORE THAN I FEAR MEGATRON!"

"Did... did he say what I think he said?" Sentinel muttered to Jazz.

"Sir, I think he's telling the truth." Optimus said to the Magnus.

"Oh please, Optimus," Sentinel scoffed. "How would you know about it?"

"Because Sari and I caught them in the act before he went into stasis lock." Bumblebee piped up.

"Listen." Blitzwing's Icy persona said. "I need your help. He needs your help."

Ratchet pushed past the other mechs and headed straight for Blitzwing and Sari, the triple changer kneeling down and resting my weak frame on the ground.

"We tried my key, but it didn't work." Sari said. "He's burning up like how humans have a fever."

"And it started after zat battle." Blitzwing said. Ratchet shot him a side eye that made Blitzwing shift uncomfortably under before hooking up a diagnostic probe to me and running the results.

"The reason why your key isn't working on him is because there isn't any physical damage." Ratchet said as he analyzed the readings. "It's all psychological."

"It may have something to do vith the Enigma Programming." Blitzwing said.

"You know about that, huh?"

"I... was a part of the project somewhat." Blitzwing said as he looked away with guilt.

"What do you mean?" Sari asked.

"It's a long story, but we need to get him somewhere where I can have access to a cortical psychic patch or a quantity inter-processor device."

"You have medical experience?" Ratchet asked with surprise as he gently detached the probe from me and picked my barely conscious form up.

"I was a doctor once, a... a long time ago." Blitzwing said with a strangely sad expression.

"Well, now you can be a doctor in the Stockades." Sentinel growled as he pulled out a pair of stasis cuffs and stormed over to him.

"YOU CLAMBERING CLANK CLUTZ!" His Hothead persona barked. "I MAY BE ZE ONLY ONE WHO CAN HELP HIM!"

"Not a chance."

"Sentinel, wait." Optimus said. "What if he's telling the truth? Not many bots even know what a cortical psychic patch or an inter-processor device is or that they even exist."

"Optimus is right." Ratchet said. "Those devices are highly experimental."

"So how does this deceptiscum know about it?" Sentinel glared.

"Because I helped design them." Blitzwing's Icy persona said. "I know how to use them and how to help."

"Sir, we can't allow this... freak to do anything to an Autobot!" Sentinel protested.

"F.... frag... you." I rasped weakly, my vents locking up with a clank and a rough and violent coughing fit left my intake.

"Slag, he's fading." Ratchet said.

"Get him inside Ratchet. We have the tools this Decepticon said was needed." Ultra Magnus said. "Sentinel, detain him."

"With pleasure." As Sentinel reached to cuff Blitzwing, I let out a cracking screech noise that vaguely sounded like a 'no', startling Sentinel and his helm whipping around to glare at me.

I struggled out of Ratchet's grip and ended up falling on my aft, my frame shaking and rattling as I tried to push up.

"Kid, stop." Ratchet said as he knelt down. "You'll hurt yourself."

I whirred at him, similar to how I did when I first came online, my optics struggling to focus on Blitzwing and Sentinel.

"Y/D, it's okay." Blitzwing said as he held out his wrists. "I'll be okay." I warble at him as tears flooded my optics, Sentinel slapping the stasis cuffed on the mech and jabbing his back.

"Move Decepticon." Sentinel snarled.

I watched helplessly as Blitzwing was shoved inside, Ratchet picking my frame back up and carrying me inside.

When Sentinel turned a corner with Blitzwing in tow, I let out another warble and tried to reach for him, but to no avail.

The warnings in my systems filled up with alerts, my vision becoming staticky as the stasis lock took over once again.

-with Blitzwing-

"Get in there!" Sentinel snarled as he shoved Blitzwing inside the cell, the energy field raising up and trapping him inside. Blitzwing said nothing and only sat on the floor, his crimson optics fixating on the plating that lay there.

"I dunno if this is a good idea SP." Jazz said. "Locking up the only bot who could help Ratchet's kid? Doesn't seem right."

"Puh, with luck that scrawny brat will go offline, and we will have one less triple changing freak to deal with." Sentinel scoffed.

"YOU OVERGROWN RUSTY CHASSIS!" Blitzwing's Hothead persona barked. "IF YOU LET Y/D DIE, I WILL PERSONALLY TEAR OUT YOUR SPARK!"

"From in there?" Sentinel snorted. "I doubt it."

-with Ratchet-

"R... rat.. ratch... ratchet." I coughed and wheezed as the medic began hooking me up to various spark support systems. "Am... am i... going to die?"

"Not if I can help it." The medic said as he looked up at a video feed that displayed the brig. On the screen sat Blitzwing, alone and with a solem, grief filled expression. "Not if I can help it."

First of all: great movie, will watch again when it hits streaming

BEE FUCKING DIED FOR HALF THE MOVIE OR WAS AT LEAST FUNCTIONALLY DEAD

And then killed Nightbird who could fly in root mode and transformed into a car so is she like half a triple changer. Is Bee 2.5 for 2.5 on triple changers.

Nightbird was really cool though I liked her a lot

On the subject of her death. The rust/corruption was extremely fucking cool that has Potential even with Scourge dead

Scourge and Unicron in general greatly excited me. When was the last time Unicron was a planet eater, was he one in the Unicron Trilogy? Scourge was cool, v. intimidating. Unicron was also really well-designed and I really like the power-control stuff. Also off-brand Force choke

I don't want to call him Wheeljack he's a fine character but he's not Wheeljack he's Pablo. I have no other complaints

Arcee is a fucking badass she has been so good in the recent continuities she kicks ass and I love her

Mirage was fun, I liked him a lot character-wise. Him being able to do the actual mirage/hologram was really fun. The mass-shifty stuff with being a garbage truck or whatever is interesting. And then he becomes a mech suit for Noah and that has heavy fic potential. Also another temporary death.

I really don't have anything to say about the Maximals beyond Airazor

OPTIMUS PRIME ON THE OTHER HAND. God he was written really really well. He so strongly regrets leaving Cybertron (which makes me wonder what the fate of the war is if it's still going on are the remaining Bots holding their ground or are the Cons on the up) and cares so much for his home and Bee. And he has no reason to trust humans, not really, even if Bee had a good experience with one. He's really well-written and Peter Cullen is fantastic as ever. Also I think Optimus was mentioned as Primus' chosen or something

Noah's younger brother was really good, I liked him, I'm really glad he's going to be okay

Other minor humans. At the start of the movie I swear the guy who canceled Noah's interview had the last name Bishop. That is such a specific surname it has to be a TFP reference. Mid-credits scene, why is it GI Joe. Are they doing a GI Joe movie. My amica and I were like 'is it sector 7' but no it's other Hasbro property

Noah and Elena! I've seen Noah's actor in another movie so I'm not surprised he did a really good job. Noah was really well-written, he was accurately compared to Optimus at one point and it was good vibes. He cares about his family and also just has some good funny lines early on. Elena was also really good, I don't have specific character thoughts other than I'm glad she gets a happy ending.

The movie was really fun, I do recommend it, I can't wait for more people to see it for the fic concepts and theories it will spawn

Hello! Just here to say that I love all of yours and anon's DID Blitzwing related thoughts!! I adore Blitzwing and they're (he?) what got me researching DID again after so long (my little autistic brain loves them <33). I'm not a system (or if I am, everyone else is really well hidden!!), but I love learning about all the things minds are capable of doing to protect themselves and I think it's fascinating - though I know that obviously I'll have some misconceptions so I'm always very happy to learn more :)

Do you have any other ideas/ headcannons about them? I would love to hear them /gen

Oh I'm not infallible either, not a system myself but I am fascinated with psychology (looks at my therapist Ben 10 character). Besides Blitzwing is an interesting character to have DID because they're not human and so with our human (and audience) perception, it can be easy to connect Blitz to DID even if that's not what the TFA writers intended- the added bonus is my intrigue in xenobiology/psychology so... Blitz's the perfect sample for that asjdhgblsjfkl-!

As for headcanons, those may need to be under the cut they got a bit much haha-!

You can take some of these headcanons as little hints towards a canon!Blitzwing, but because I've been rambling with the anons about Bot Experiment Triple-Changers these are kinda more focused on that little au rather than the original-

I like to imagine Random would totally eat organic (non-metal) food if given the chance/no one else fronts to stop him. With the power of fire and ice, he at least has assurances for the others that Random can and will ingest flaming fuel and liquid nitrogen just to get rid of any residue of authentic Italian cuisine. It seems to really be his thing idk- Probably doesn't help that Octane would totally be on his side if she ever fronted (certainly eggs him on when they're both in the headspace).

There's a pretty common headcanon that Blitzwing sculpts, but I like to pin the sculpting hobby onto Hothead because metal sculpting would work far easier with a little heat. As a bonus BETC!Blitz exclusive I like to say that Private actually had a passion for carving, his little area of the headspace decorated with what he remembers making, so Hothead took a little bit of a peak at that and got interested in it's complement; building something from nothing as opposed from revealing something from another something.

And Icy I feel is just really intrigued by alien cultures (that little commentary on how fascinating human cities are like nano-bots WILL NOT ESCAPE ME), perhaps a little more so than being interesting in Cybertron itself. I mean he's not gonna say that OUT LOUD with Decepticons around, but he finds the different ways different planets and different countries ON those planets create homes and lifestyles unique to their own individual circumstance. Astrotrain would feel a kinship to that, considering the bot had previously worked in cargo transport across Cybertron and getting to experience the different cultures of it's citystates, but Astrotrain also understands VERY WELL why Icy might not have the best connection to 'home'.

I also think that, out of the hosts, Hothead is the most affectionate towards Private and despite not having any wings in their headspace, Hothead speaks to Private like an older warframe does to a young(er) war bot. Random when not fronting fucks around with Octane if Astrotrain's covering Private's six, the two of them being chaotic little gremlins that spells disaster for any bot unlucky enough to be around the next time Random fronts with a prank idea. And to round this off if Octane is being the wine aunt to Private (or about as responsibly irresponsible like one), Astrotrain and Icy take a moment to sit and breathe, talking about traveling and other more silent contemplations.

And I think that might be all from the top of my head? Only saw this ask about nearly 12 hours after the timestamp says I got it so hopefully you weren't waiting to long asjdhfgaslkfkl-! But nah, I love Blitzwing, just needed to sit on my thoughts haha-

thinking abt how if heatwave had agreed to join optimus' team his third form would probably have ended up being a jet or another aerial vehicle. like he scanned the boat bc it was there when they needed to get out of a tight spot, but since nevada is in the middle of nowhere and a boat would be super weird there he would have needed to scan a flying thing to get out of a bad place.

anyways that would be so funny also team prime would probably be like "wtf wtf how did he do that. optimus. how did he do that triple changers don't exist anymore." and then someone would say "neither do rescue bots" and they would kinda shrug and nod and accept that yeah this is weird but so is everything they know about heatwave.

the decepticons would respect that and also be VERY confused. i think they would kinda be like "ah yes he has realized flight is superior to driving! gave up his alt mode for it-- wait wtf how is he still driving now he was just a jet. wait a damn minute he's a triple changer how did we not know this" and the next time an autobot is captured decepticon high command all shows up and starts asking questions. shockwave wants to experiment on him and the others just want to know when this happened. also how. how would be nice to know.

MECH all of a sudden has a new target. don't worry they cross him off when they realize how easy heatwave is to aggravate and also how willing he is to act on said aggression. they're kinda like "c'mon this guy is an autobot how bad can-- GET DOWN HES SHOOTING. ok. so let's leave him alone." and then they do.

The latest Decepticon attack came too close to the daycare.

Too close for Buddy’s liking.

Guardian was on high alert already rallying up the kids and placing them in the new bunker in the building.

Normally they would make their way in there with the kids to make sure everything was safe.

But today something snapped deep inside Buddy.

They were furious at these attacks being so close.

They needed to do something about it.

Buddy was determined to get this piece of the war away from their haven.

They reached for their weapons they used once long time ago.

The kids were going to be safe in the bunker, now Buddy needed to do what they were always programmed for.

Protect. The. Kids.

Team Prime is surprised yet excited to see Buddy join in the battle.

The same cannot be said about the Decepticons.

Team that is confused about there being an Autobot Triple changer

These Cons swear they were the only ones with a triple changer on their side. So why was there an Autobot triple changer? Magnus must be desperate to resort to more triple changer experiments. Very unethical too if they remembered correctly. These Cons will most likely start toying with Buddy. They are not expecting an actual fight, but Buddy’s prowess proves them wrong. These Cons now start thinking more about the bot. Who knows what would happen if they let Blitzwing fight them? Just a little thought…

These Cons genuinely think they have a chance at recruiting the triple changer. After all, Blitzwing joined them, this will be easy if they are anything like him. They are proved wrong as the sucker punch drives them to the pavement. They will try different tactics all while the bot is attacking them. After they use everything, they can think of, they will high tail it out if there. Once back to base however, they are going to start planning other ways to get that Triple changer to come to the Decepticon side. Even if it means getting creative with their approach.

Team that wants to eliminate the threat as soon as possible.

These Cons, if they have resorted to all other options will resort to offlining the triple changer. They know how dangerous a triple changer can get if left unchecked. Even supervised triple changers are unpredictable forces that when used right, cause devastating results. They do think more about sending Blitzwing out to fight them, but for now, they will plot and wait for the right moment to strike.

Adding to the Inconsistent Dececpticon Alt Mode Club for the ask: Megatron and Shockwave?

Okay for Megatron I was tempted to go for a Tank, but instead I wanted something that suggests parts of his background in industry, not a mining vehicle but something that gives the idea that Megs is more than brute force and violence, whilst also being sturdy as fuck....Also not a flyer, I feel like flying is something he shouldn't have until a lot later in his story. So I went for the M1132 Stryker Engineer Squad Vehicle with all the extras, transformation wise I'd take elements from different versions of Megatron, especially G2

As for Shockwave, it's honestly difficult because he's one of those bots I feel is most suited to keeping his Cybertronian alt mode and also has probably experimented on himself as much as any of his other subjects. Honestly despite his character being completely different I think Transformers Cybertron got it right with Shockblast: A triple changer with a satellite and ground based death ray tank modes.

Something like this....I guess the treads could unfurl to make the panels of the satellite.

Most other Decepticons are various types of Quartz's (Jasper, Tiger's Eye, Citrine, Agate, etc) since a lot of them are warbuilds

Am I actually gonna draw all of these characters? Uhh... probably not! But it's fun to chew on.

Anyways, the AU's not an exact 1 to 1. I mostly placed the characters where I thought they fit in SU canon because Gems and Cybertronians are kind of the same thing actually. However, some characters do have stronger correlations to certain SU characters so I ran with that.

OP and Megan kind of share the role of Rose Quartz (leaders of a rebellion fighting against the restrictive caste system of their oppressive home world, Optimus previously being Orion/Red Diamond before leaving that identity behind to be a soldier, etc). Do they split into Bots and Cons? No fucking clue! Maybe :3

Bumblebee's kind of Amethyst and Prowl's kind of Pearl and Jazz n Soundwave are kind of Garnet because when I was watching I realized she was the blueprint and probably why I'm so obsessed with those two. Shockwave for sure performs unethical gem shard experiments, the Seekers and Labrodorites as a whole function sort of similarly to Lapis Lazulis.

I've thought about weapons and fusions and caste but I haven't sketched everything yet so I'll keep y'all posted. Also! I've definitely forgotten some characters and details so if anyone has questions/suggestions, my ask box is always open :D

I was wondering what your take would be on WF!Bee? Like before everything happens and he’s sent to boot camp. I kind of imagined a more street smart version of him that’s rough around the edges but still has a sense of humor, even if it’s a bit darker. He basically built himself from nothing on his colony and had to learn quickly before it had a chance to suffocate him. Through his experience he’s been humbled a bit, but when he’s talking about his speed and skills, he’ll still brag and say he’s the fastest mech/greatest weapons engineer to ever be sparked.

As for his whole relationship with Blitz, I liked to imagine them being physically affectionate with each other. They practically have a long distance relationship due to Blitzwings work, and when they finally get to see each other again, they stick to together like superglue, whether it be lightly caressing the others (door)wing or clinging to each other like koalas (with Bee being Blitzwings size, they have a much easier time cuddling). And of course there’s Bee’s gift giving love language; Blitzwing is practically armed to the derma with finest quality weaponry the galaxy can offer, courtesy of his sweet mechfriend who want to make sure he can beat the autobots good and swiftly. That’s not mentioning every upgrade Bee has preformed on every piece of equipment he could get his servos on, he’s practically given Blitz’s ship a full makeover by now.

That is really cool! I like that idea a lot too!

I thought about how'd he look like as a warframe and i got an idea-

Like what if he magically got his original frame back but with some tweaks to fit earth? They fight over Allspark Shard, he got buried in a mountian of scrap, then some weird glowing shit happens and molten metal pours over and a freshly forged Warframe emerges from the pile. In this he has a monster truck alt mode; I was imagining sorta viking warrior vibe to it, he's got in-build swords that can electrocute ya, his tires are on the back rather than on the shoulders, no doorwings. Also some bronze detailing on top of shiny yellow. Here's a quick sketch of the general look cuz i suck at drawing detailed art from my head-

Yes he got yellow optics cuz they are cool and he's not autobot so no blue. Also i thought he'd have like, an emblem of something like a hammer on his chassis instead of the faction insignia, like a mark that he leaved on everything he forges to sell so everyone knows it was him that made it. Also fun fact- he has retractable claws, except they're thinner and also work as welding tool. An easy way to work with tiny details and parts.

I like the idea that he was considered the greatest engineer/smith/forgemaster that ever existed, therefore Megatron has high respect for the guy. He was nicknamed 'The Architect' and the rumour of the rising legend spread before mysteriously disappearing [aka Bee getting taken and reformatted].

Before he got reformatted tho... hmmm. Yeah his love language would defo be giving gifts, be it weapons or just small sentimental things like jewelry or statuettes made of metal. He is kinda good with engraving, not on the same level as Blitz but it's still nice. Surely he was great at giving bear hugs, really keen on physical contact. My bet is that he was stronger than Blitzwing and could easily pick him up and carry around- having to carry all the heavy materials for the forge n all. I think Blitz was just a seeker back then and then got upgraded to triple-changer. And then they got conjuxed- ah you probably read the other reply so i won't repeat.

And way earlier- he was kind but also rough, he was kinda like Ratchet when repairing his upgrades on others- complaining and judging them for whatever they did that broke the thing. He was playful and didn't really take into account if the fella he spoke with was a high placed individual or just a random street bot, he treated all his customers equally. I like to think he got taken off the streets by a smith that taught him all he knows and then Bee took over the workshop once he was old enough. Then one day an out-of-ordinary mech came into his workshop and tadah, we got a love story.

Even tho he was a Warframe he didn't like to fight, he preferred to spend time in his workshop tinkering away to his Spark's desire. Once he got on the autobot team and on earth, he surely did some small things for the group to help them recover- new med tools for Ratchet, maybe some shurikens for Prowl, little upgrades to make their weapons or stuff more durable and so on. Besides Bulkhead, he never shared anything from his past to anyone, all his team knows is that he's outstanding with tinkering. He doesn't like to dwell on what he lost because of some autobots that forced him into this new life.
