Amazing photos of Bojnice Castle from @stastnoucestu . . Bojnice Chateau is a romantic chateau with a partially preserved Gothic and Renaissance foundation of the castle. It is built on a travertine rock and consists of an indoor and outdoor castle with three courtyards. During the tour we can also look into the cave under the castle. From 1889 to 1910, the last feudal owner Ján František Pálfi undertook the last extensive reconstruction of the chateau, which was in the neo-Gothic style. It was thanks to this reconstruction that the chateau acquired its characteristic features and contemporary appearance. The Bojnice chateau also includes the adjacent chateau park, in which many different specimens of trees grow and the rare, approximately 700-year-old, Linden King Matthias in front of the entrance to the chateau. This lime tree is probably the oldest tree in Slovakia.
