I read a wonderful post about BG3 social media headcanons by @fatale-distraction and now I'm getting delerious ideas trying to fall asleep.

Barcus runs a tutorial channel. He likes it. He likes interacting with fans. He likes hearing that he helped people, and that he makes them understand. He likes tinkering. He likes video editing. He is a little annoyed at filming, but nothing can be perfect.

I imagine his channel to be kind of small. Not a lot of subscribers since most people find the tutorial they need and go. Therefore, that one comment stands out to him.

Either way, they join the patreon, their parasocial comments feel more social as Barcus keeps thinking of them, and one thing leads to another where they start messaging. Kindness incarnate Barcus sends 273 full sound files from the videos unedited, for longer listening. It's charming. It's soothing. It's all 273 could want... Or is it? As nice as the voice is to fall asleep to, wouldn't you want to talk with that cute, humble man? Hear what other noises he can make?

Wulbren is there, not so gently urging Barcus to get a dating life. It's an attempt to rid them both of the awkwardness in their friendship post Barcus' confession. Unbidden until now, Barcus thinks of that one fan who likes hearing him talk. The fan who he has already crossed some boundaries with. Would it be wrong to get to know them better? Or would he be the bad guy with these ulterior motives?

I'm not committed to write this, but holy hell am I enjoying this blorbo while I can. Doesn't mean I'm sleeping, but I will manage eventually...

im using you as an excuse to talk about my very own home-grown blorbos now

So!!!!!!!!! i literally only have half of a design for the two of these ocs, i've only drawn one of them ONCE and i don't count it cuz i wanna redesign him COMPLETELY (that piece is not even canon, i had to do that for a class so i put stuff in there that doesn't even belong to the type of story it is </3), i've written for the two of them a couple times but im not even sure THAT'S canon anymore

i think the writing might still be canon tho, i do still kinda like a lot of the stuff it went over with that. N E WAYS.

basically there's this pair of witches (they don't. really have. names. oops. they did but i don't like them anymore) who enlisted and then eventually rose to the top of fighting this war/apocalypse/encroaching disaster that has been ongoing for a LONG time. like, they're at the end of the world but turns out the end of the world is a hell of a lot slower than anyone imagined. they've been fighting it for a long time (and it does involve actual fighting? like i like to think that this apocalypse acts more as like. locust swarm but the bugs are big big buggy boys that hates you hates you hates you and eats the magic out of the world)

and the first (we'll call him A) is the one who rose up in the ranks to be best of the best very quickly, because his kind of magic is very powerful and was critically effective in the fight. and the second guy (we'll call him B) is kind of. worst of the best. SORT OF. he was best of the best because he fought alongside A and B's brand of magic explicitly deals with the bond the two of them shared. (i call it bonds magic cuz i can't think of something better for now) (yes it's power of friendship) (there more to that but whatever) it was IMMENSELY powerful!!! not moreso than A's magic, but still!! very powerful!!! so B rose up because A pulled him up (not entirely true!!! but you get the point. nuance)

BUT THEN. sometime after they had been in the war for a long ass time, A leaves. either from shame, either he's disillusioned, something happened, he won't say. and just kind of. leaves B behind. who still is very much part of the war and won't say anything to sway A's mind because he cares too much about what he thinks

years later, B's still part of the war/doom effort. and magic in the world has kind of deteriorated so much that it's. honestly kind of hard to come across a solid magic user these days. they still teach them and still get people to join the effort, but compared to the older days, it's a lot less. people can learn magic, everyone can, but it's hard to get like. a professional, someone who has unlocked the higher abilities of magic. people like A or B.

speaking of! yeah. B is still part of the war effort. and it's NOW at the period of time where he's the worst of the best, but he's the only one they've got. they still keep him around because who else is there, really, and also he can still utilize the powerful bond magic he made way back when with A, so he's still very powerful but it's just. different. ya know? he's standing in the shadow of just the IDEA of A, and he's not even here anymore. and it's not filled with resentment, never. never resentment. he could never tarnish that. it's only ever love. and looking up to A. it didn't feel like he cast a shadow because to B, to him, he only ever cast light.

but also. A left. left him. alone.

so he's dealing with that in a perfectly reasonable manner (not thinking about it)

meanwhile A has decided to live a pastoral life away from the apocalypse and is totally not repressing his issues either. <3.

and like!!! the council or whatever that's in charge of all the witches is like "hey. B. you know your way cooler friend? you still keep in touch right?" and sends him off to go find A again after all these years to bring him back to the war and there's a whole mess of meeting again and having to meet with all the things you left unsaid, and all the everything and OOUAOUGHFF it's a whole mess.

anyways i want to make this a comic but also i kind of need to. yknow. design and draw the comic if i want to make the comic. so like. rage.

Like imagine you're a superhero/vigilante but you're fairly small time and you've actually bumped into Batman a handful of times and, he actually likes you, your heart is in the right place, and through some wacky villain shenanigans or some Lazarus Pit fuckery, you get zapped by a ray gun or hit wirh a spell or "resurrected wrong" and suddenly Bruce has to deal with a de-aged you, a teenager without their adult memories and aged back to before you developed your skills or your metagene that gave you your powers

And here's Batman already shoving adopted children into his pockets like breadsticks at olive garden "oh no, ANOTHER orphan/kid with a horrible childhood in need of a home? Whatever shall we do. Oh no my hand slipped and I already texted Alfred to prepare a room to stay and oh no my Waynazon shopping list is suddenly full of new furniture and gifts and clothes and i already emailed Dick and Barabaras university so you can get a better education and oh wow just what is going on this is so weird"

Alfred standing by with his dry wit whenever Reader gets hormonal or does typical teenager things "ah yes, yelling 'I hate you' and slamming doors, I definitely didn't have enough of this experience raising you, Master Wayne" but like he adores it really, we all know this man is a caretaker at heart and as someone who 'knew you before' st least through what Bruce has told him, he's happy to help give you a better life

Of course then complications arise whenever Reader gets her memory back (and potentially extremely pissed she was kept as a child and literally no attempts, none, zero, nada, zilch attempts were made to turn her back to normal) and she's like "ok well I'm mentally an adult again but I'm still in a kids body, let's try and turn me back and then I can be a real adult again" and the entire batfamily is just "OR, hear me out, OR. You could stay here though? And if you wanna be a crimefighter you should at least stay with us but like its jusr ao dangerous though what if you got hurt 🥺" IF they let you return to hero work at all but let's be real, if you did, I think Bruce would be so proud to put a little bat symbol or R or whatever on your uniform cause it's like, awwww bonding, everyone's gonna know you're his lil protege 🥰

And imagine Reader goes to confront Bruce about this whole thing and you just start bawling because "was I just such a pathetic loser before that you wanted to change everything about me" and like he did the whole thing with good intentions but, YEAH he did absolutely lie to you and kind of shape you a little for the few years you were "raised" by him and you're standing there with your new clothes and your new haircut and all the hobbies he's paid for and the education he's paid for and all the new things you've learned and can do because he had the resources to give them to you and you're wondering what was so unlikable about you before that he doesnt want you to be that person again, to be the person you've always known and lived your life as

Suffice to say he isn't going to turn you back at all and if you have to "return to your old self" by literally naturally aging back to your "original age" then so be it. You've got an entire mansion filled with your loving 'family' and you're happy and you're healthy and really, maybe you're just being anxious and scared and all it will take is time for you to adjust and see that all of them know what's best. Amd if you never do adjust and you're just kept around anyways, well, it doesn't make much of a difference to them. Hell, maybe they'll find a hero or villain or magic user who can, you know, maybe make you forget all about the life you had before, completely wipe your head until only the Wayne family, your family, is left

so this is the blorbo. the new bsd oc i have been working on. from the fanfic i am Struggling with. same guy from the Art a while ago. august (i like the month okay) whatever last name i decide on at a later date.

his ability is called lucy locket! i actually came up with the ability's function first, and then i found that it fit pretty well. basically its a pocket dimension accessed via the users pockets. so far it has infinite storage, but whatever is added or removed at the present moment has to have been able to fit in the pocket originally. so you cant add/remove a large waterbottle from tiny jean pockets, for example. i like to think it only works when august himself pulls something out or puts something in. so. yknow. "not a penny was there in it, only ribbon round it". hehe

hes 25 because as much as a harp on bsd i also suck with ages so i rng-ed a number between 21 and 27 chcbdj

his birthday is june 21st! stole that from james orchard halliwell (see where that came from now) phillipps, bc he was the first to record the nursery rhyme. i also think him being born on the summer solstice in june but being named august is soo funny.

forgot to add it in correctly but his height is 5'8! that's about 173 cm? i think? i rounded it up technically its only like. 172.72?

168??? pounds??? which is apparently like 76kg? look i have no clue how weights work either i just took my own weight looked up the average for an adult and made something up. dont expect it to make sense.

bloodtype is a! i thought it was weird that the blood types were mentioned at all in the character bios but then i remembered the whole stereotype thing so i just picked whatever i thought fit.

he likes goldfish (hence the socks and earrings), rice (its rice), and hats (because they are so neat)! i was thinking about funny sock patterns and then i was looking at the wiki page for catherine maria fischer (the supposed kitty fisher in the nursery rhyme) and one of her paintings had a fishbowl in it. and then i thought about yoimiya because i had been drawing her before and. yknow. he definitely does has a small hat collection, but he'd rather them not be damaged at work. theyre saved for parties and formal gatherings!

dislikes are long explanations, pollen (allergy 😔), and unpleasant textures (like bedsheets that give you the Feeling when you scratch them). he likes it when people get to the point, and im projecting my own sensory issues onto him hxjsj

moving on we have design notes!

so here's our boy.

starting with the shirt, its actually based on one of the shirts i own. it's got the solid torso and the loose sheer sleeves, and i thought that was neat! though for him i think the sleeves would be a bit more opaque, and he's wearing a vest!

as for the tie you can see i noted that it's a bit of a cross between a criss cross tie and like... a sailor tie? i know it says bolo but thats because the word i was looking for was Tie Brooch for the pendant in the middle.

the cargo shorts!!! so obviously to best use his ability august needs something with rather large pockets, but i didn't know how to add those in. initially i wanted to go with some tights or normal slacks and have him wear a hoodie, but it was kind of... eh? so i tried cargo pants but those didn't work either. so then i tried on shorts and i Realized what needed to be done fhdjjws

knee high socks! i asked what how silly we should get with them and eni said knee highs and nobody said ankle with silly patterns so i combined the two! i think the combination is really funny.

the shoes! theyre just sneakers. comfy!

I have been thinking about making my own character being a logia type for a while and then I thought it would be fun to bring her into the chaos that is Impel Down. So here we go - all female characters have names and special characteristics and they might eventually end up with certain One Piece Blorbos.

This is a private ongoing fic just for me and @lostfirefly

Since tumblr doesn't let me post it privately I need to share it publicly, but feel free to scroll through the content, since this is just for our own amusement. ;)

You had fought until the bitter end but eventually you were overpowered by Marine officers. The destiny of every pirate, it seemed to you now. Without a moment's hesitation, they tied you up and brought you to Impel Down, a notorious prison renowned for its impenetrable security, where the prospect of escape appeared hopeless. You found yourself thrown into a prison cell on level 5. It was evident that your possession of the Mizu Mizu no mi powers had brought you here, as you were the one who had consumed it after all the previous users of that devil fruit had vanished. The authorities believed your powers to be unpredictable, making you a dangerous pirate captain. However, you protested vehemently when they placed you in the same cell as the former warlord, Sir Crocodile.

"Why do you have to put me in a cell with a man? Can you imagine the danger he poses to me?" you shouted, acutely aware of being the only woman on the entire Level 5, subjected to the leering gazes of the male inmates.

The guards remained silent, merely shoving you into the cell. They removed your shackles, knowing that the sea stone made your powers useless, preventing you from freeing yourself. As you glared at them, gritting your teeth, a sudden realization washed over you – the reason for their amusement became crystal clear.

Sir Crocodile had consumed the Suna Suna no mi, a sandy devil fruit that made him vulnerable to water. Placing you, a water-based Logia fruit user, in the same cell as him was a deliberate choice to neutralize both of your abilities, ensuring you couldn't engage in combat with each other.

As you thought about the pointlessness of the situation, fully aware that the sea stones restrained both your powers anyway, you settled into a secluded corner, keeping your distance from the former warlord. Uncertain if he had already noticed your presence, you remembered that you had heard tales of him but had never laid eyes on him before. 

It was not long before he became aware of your arrival. You could hear the haunting resonance of his voice as he approached, his laughter tinged with darkness.

"Well, well, if it isn't Yujo, the captain of the notorious Aqua Pirates! How did you end up here?" he taunted.

Sir Crocodile stood taller and more imposing than you had expected, his muscular frame hinting at his strength. You knew that in a physical confrontation, you would stand little chance against him.

"I don't believe I owe you an explanation," you answered shortly, showing your disinterest in conversation, yet cautious not to provoke him.

To your surprise, he leaned down toward you, his piercing purple eyes locking onto yours.

"Ah, not one for idle chatter, are you? But you certainly are pretty for a pirate captain," he remarked, a hint of amusement coloring his words.

His compliment caused a blush to creep onto your cheeks, rendering you momentarily speechless. What were his intentions and did you need to be afraid of him?

Several levels above, the famous Pirate Captain Buggy the clown found himself caught in a heated argument with his girlfriend, Helga. Using his devil fruit powers, he had managed to break free from a prison cell and after that liberated Helga as well. However, he was kind of bummed out to discover that she required higher security measures than he did. Disagreeing with her proposition to venture further down into the depths of Impel Down and search for a hidden underwater passage, Buggy voiced his concerns.

"Listen, cutie pie, while I respect your opinion, I highly doubt that delving deeper into this infernal place will help our escape. It would only make it easier for the warden to find us and bring us back to our cells.. or worse.," he reasoned.

Helga, however, was resolute in her stance. She countered, her voice filled with determination, "And you listen to me, stubborn Captain Buggs! Going up to higher levels is just like walking into the jaws of death. The guards have discovered your escape by now, and they will soon be pursuing both of us. I've heard rumors of an underground passage that leads directly to Marineford, an emergency escape route for Marine officials."

Buggy scoffed at first but then glanced into Helga's bright blue eyes. There was a certain look she gave him that he found impossible to resist. He adored her for her passion and unwavering resolve, and he was grateful that he wasn't the only member of his crew imprisoned in this wretched place. A mischievous smile played upon Helga's lips as she sweetly interjected, "If you agree to my plan, my darling, I promise to reward you in any way you desire."

Buggy felt his determination waver at her words, realizing he couldn't resist her charms any longer. "I can't believe I'm about to say this, but let's give your plan a shot, my dear. Lead the way," Buggy reluctantly agreed, his tone laced with a mix of surprise and resignation.

Helga's face lit up with a triumphant smile as she took Buggy's hand. Excitement gleamed in her eyes as she began to guide him through the labyrinthine corridors of Impel Down, searching for the hidden underground passage that could potentially grant them their freedom.

Downstairs at Level 5 Crocodile hat sat down next to Yujo, after realizing how uncomfortable she felt being so close to him. Amused by her discomfort, he found a new source of entertainment in teasing her. He had been imprisoned for a while and the boredom in the cell had become unbearable. Any means of distraction were just good for him, especially when it was a young girl like the captain of the Aqua pirates. 

"How did they manage to capture you?" Crocodile inquired once again, his curiosity piqued. Yujo simply shrugged, realizing that she had no choice but to play along. After all, they were both destined to be imprisoned for a considerable duration.

"I got caught off guard, probably thinking I was unbeatable. I took a break at Sabaody Island and, while I was intoxicated at a bar, I was suddenly ambushed. And as for my crew, I have no idea what happened to them..." Yujo explained with a hint of frustration.

Crocodile raised an eyebrow in disbelief. "A devil fruit user like you easily captured by the marines?"

"Hey, I enjoy my beer, okay?" she retorted sharply. "Besides, take a good look at yourself. Why is a former warlord like you in a place like this? Surely, you would be stronger than to end up here as well?"

"I have my reasons!" he grumbled, his voice sending a shiver down Yujo's spine.

"I've heard it was that little teenage straw hat," she giggled, unable to believe that a mere boy had managed to beat a formidable warlord. However, before she could finish her sentence, Crocodile, in his short temper, swiftly extended his hook, placing it beneath her chin. He forced her to meet his gaze once again.

"You're quite audacious, little missy," he remarked, his tone laced with a mix of threat and intrigue. "Do you truly believe you're in a position to speak to me like this?" His captivating purple eyes held her in their grip. Despite the cold presence of his hook against her skin, Yujo couldn't help but feel an almost mesmerizing allure emanating from him. He seemed to feel the tension and immediately let go of her, standing up. 

"Why did they have to send a girl in here, dammit?!" he muttered under his breath, his frustration evident. Crocodile then turned away and retreated to the opposite corner of the cell, putting some distance between himself and Yujo.

She is great and fantastic for so many reasons

Her design is great, love the colors and everything else

She is my favorite class

Country girl

great growth even tho she's a minor character with not a lot of dialogue

gay gay homosexual gay (not technically confirmed but might as well be)

She's a somewhat shy and very self concious country girl. The thing she's self concious about is her appearance and accent because she's worried about coming from the countryside. She ususally stays silent in conversations because she's worried about being disliked because of her strong country accent. She's very kind and caring and absolutely hates war, but joins the gang in a war partially because they saved her, but also because she sees the main gang as being just in their cause and being the best option for finishing the war. She also gets peer pressured easily.

But then by the time of Radiant Dawn (the second game), which takes place three years after Path of Radiance (the first game) where she fought alongside Ike and princess Elinica to end the war, she becomes more confident and sure of herself while still being kind and caring. She basically starts taking no shit and, along with her friend Brom, she quells a rebellion in her village and actually speaks up against the rebels leaders (not from the village) who wants to remove Elincia from the throne because they don't like her, which Nephenee is against because she knows the princess personally and stands up for her. She also doesn't get peer pressured as easily anymore.

She's also just fun to use, she starts with the wrath skill (+50% crit when below half hp) and can very easily be given the vantage skill (attacks first ALWAYS, even on enemy phase) this is just a very lethal combo when mixed with a killer lance. And also soldier -> Halberdier and Halberdier just absolutely slaps as a class, we don't have enough infantry lance users in fire emblem

Also one of the reasons I respect the tellius games so much is that the characters very clearly actually grow older between the two games, including Nephenee!!

I just like that she actually looks 3 years older, also LOOK AT THAT ARMOUR AAAHHGHHGHGGGHH

One of the most lesbian characters ever, she literally joins you because she thinks Nephenee is cute, she keeps talking about how she wants to meet the princess because she must be so pretty (she is tbf), her name is Heather, HER NAME IS HEATHER

Anyway that was my first blorbo rant, I love Nephenee so much, genuenly one of my favoritest characters

I just thought maybe u could use a reminder of what an AMAZING artist you are. honestly your art makes me smile SO much. a couple months ago when u posted that drawing of adrien simply standing there and being a whole entire cutie I was like dhdjdjDHJSSK💕💕💕 IT’S HIM. THAT’S MY BLORBO. I’m dead. Because holy cow do u make him the BLORBO-IEST. like. You just have this way of drawing faces that is So pleasing. Activates intense Cuteness Aggression in me. Makes me melt into a pile of goo. It’s just, like, this level of baby that seems like it should actually be unattainable, yet somehow, you attain it. You’re the master of little baby blorbos and I am crumbling at your feet about it. i do not know how else to describe it but that when you draw blorbos they are soooo blorbo shaped. Like there’s the exact amount of Beloved packed in there that there should be. The beloved is just baked into the crust. Mixed into the sauce. MAN UR ART STYLE IS JUST!!!!! SO CUTE!!!! AND SO GOOD!!!! I know this is like ancient by now and I wasn’t even around when you posted it but the first time I saw that post-reveal Christmas comic you did with the sweaters I was just like 😭😭😭😭 ohhhhh that was so soft I melted like butter dude. It’s still one of my favorite pieces of fanart in this fandom but you have grown a lot as an artist since then and it’s amazing to see!!!! You create beautiful things that make people (me, and also others but very much me) happy and that’s such a special gift to have. Your coloring always feels soooo warm and cozy, like a big hug 🥺 and whenever you post an animation my brain goes 💥💥💥 because it’s incredible!! What’s a controversial opinion that you have?

lol, mate that sounds like a trap, but sure, I'll step on that grenade.

I think the proshipping/antishipping discourse lacks nuance on both sides.

The bullying and the targeted harassment that antis have committed against creators they've deemed insufficiently morally-pure is no way to treat another human being, full stop. No matter what you think they're guilty of, that's mob justice, and like, remember how we generally consider mob justice to be a BAD thing...?

It's also a very simplistic mode of thinking, that both misunderstands the link between performativity and actual behavior, and is ultimately futile, because what they want is just not feasible in the real world.

Seriously, people, give me your actionable plan for how you intend to impose the kind of censorship you want on AO3, that wouldn't just turn into a blunt weapon to be leveraged selectively by anyone with a grudge. You can't. There is no place to draw a line in the sand, re: what kind of content is acceptable and what’s not (because everyone is insufficiently morally-pure for SOMEONE), and even if there were, there is no practical way to implement it on a website that is run by volunteers. Attempting to do so would be the beginning of the end for AO3, because once people start banning things, they don’t stop. The list of banned content is only ever going to get longer, its boundaries more nebulously-defined, until AO3 becomes just as stifling as every other social media platform has, in the name of respectability.

It’s oppressive to live under that kind of censorship -- where part of your mind is always keeping track of what’ll get you kicked, or shadowbanned, or quietly delisted. And the upshot of it all is that in the end, they don’t even need to censor us anymore -- we have been conditioned into censoring ourselves.

(Not to mention that all it does is drive problematic content underground. A platform that formally bans, say, rape content isn’t actually going to be free of rape content, it just means that creators aren’t going to properly tag for it anymore, because that would get it insta-deleted/banned. And now users who would like to avoid it can’t.)

Honestly, AO3 is a breath of fresh air in the current internet landscape, and so when I see people say that they "don't like AO3--" that is a red fuckin’ flag to me. How, pray tell, is AO3 insufficiently woke for you?

....BUT, on the other hand, the phrase "live and let ship" often gets wielded to demand that problematic content not just be free from harassment and censorship, but also free from criticism, and -- hoo buddy, I think not. 🙃 No, actually, I am not going to shut up about how I think your fav is shitty and toxic. You don't have to come onto my blog and see it -- and I would not dream of going onto someone else’s blog and starting shit, srsly, just stay in your own lane -- but this is my space, to do with as I want, and I am going to stand on my soapbox and nail the list of their sins to the church door.

Because the antis’ position (as I understand it), is 1) the fear that fiction about fucked-up content will either encourage/enable more people to do those fucked-up things IRL, and 2) the belief that anyone who writes about fucked-up content is endorsing that behavior. But the response that gets trotted out to that is "lol what idiots, they think people can't tell the difference between fiction and reality!" and arguing that there's no harm in people writing whatever weird and fucked-up stuff they like, because it's just a story.

My dudes -- I cannot convey to you how disingenuous "it's just a story" is.

We, humans, are so massively influenced by the stories around us. No, fiction isn’t reality -- no actual humans were harmed by the whumping of blorbos -- but we often look to it as if it were, and, consciously or not, often model ourselves after the patterns we see in stories. Fiction tells us what kind of behavior is acceptable or unacceptable; what men/women are “supposed” to be like; what ~those people~ are like. We internalize so much of what we see in media, without necessarily recognizing that these are someone else’s opinions being implanted into our heads, nor recognizing when we reenact those behaviors ourselves. As the kids say: You are not immune to propaganda.

When toxic and abusive relationships are being held up as the height of romance, that has real world consequences.

(That said, Hollywood’s rancid takes on race/sex/relationship dynamics have done infinitely more damage than even the most Problematique fanfic in existence. That is where the influence and impact is, so maybe let's point our guns at the real enemy instead of at each other, yeah?)

And proshippers will say "don't like, don't read," but it's not quite as simple as that. Indeed, I personally do not like [redacted ship], and therefore I don’t read it -- but we also need to be free to talk about the things we don't like, and why. When we see something that makes us go "hey wow that's kinda fucked up,” we need to be able to have that conversation without being told "then just don't read it! you’re being an asshole and a killjoy by spoiling it for the people who DO like it!"

Friends, I am not interested in spoiling anyone’s enjoyment of anything.

You can write and consume problematic content without being a problematic person. Fiction is not reality; you are hurting no one by hurting blorbo, or by enjoying watching blorbo being hurt, or by imagining your blorbos in a relationship that is, strictly speaking, somewhat less than healthy.

But you do need to be aware of what it is you're consuming -- and therefore unconsciously internalizing -- and honestly, AO3 is far better about this than mainstream media.

Part of the beauty of AO3′s tagging system is that it allows the creator to give a meta framing for the story, that may not be visible within the text itself. Take, for instance, how many, many people over the decades have somehow misread Lolita as ~a story of forbidden love~, but if Nabokov had been posting it on AO3, I guarantee you he would have tagged it with rape/noncon elements, pedophilia, child sexual abuse, grooming. He’s on record saying that Lolita is a horror story told from the point of view of the monster.

There is a world of difference between a story that knows it’s fucked up, and a story that doesn’t. The latter is What We Need To Talk About; the former, assuming it’s been properly tagged, is honestly a lot less harmful.

Depiction isn’t necessarily glorification. Oftentimes when people are writing about something fucked up, it’s to shine a light on that and go, HEY WOW, SO THIS IS PRETTY FUCKED UP, HUH? Whenever you see a fic with the tag “Dark [Blorbo]”, for instance, that is an explicit acknowledgment that Blorbo’s actions in this story are not alright. It is, once again, fiction telling us what kind of behavior is socially acceptable, and the message in darkfic is “...and this is NOT!”

So yeah.

I don’t know what the answer is, but I do know that trying to suppress criticism and/or problematic content isn’t it. Nor is turning criticism into personal attacks. If you have an issue with a particular character, or a particular ship, by all means, get on your soapbox and start preaching. That’s what meta is. But take aim at the subject matter, not the individual fan creators who get a kick out of it.

And also just -- don't be a dick. Nothing in fandom is worth harming actual other people for.

The Sapphire Heartverse is a fun little nonsense au where most of the characters are all in the same timeline due to somebody's stand messing up the universe and timelines. Everyone learned about this and tried to adapt with what's going on. The universe takes place in modern times and has resulted in a lot of time period shock from certain characters. I also would like to apologize for things that are ooc or incorrect or very non-canon, this universe is all just for fun 💙

Alrighty SO- One day Wamuu found a small injured human who got into a fight with another stand user. Instead of eating the creature, he decided to carry the poor thing to safety. The Pillarmen were a bit less concerned with going about their usual plots and more concerned with why they have shifted into this strange timeline. Wamuu shows Esi his new human pet, Esi is cool with keeping the thing but Kars gets angry. Kars tells Wamuu to get rid of the scrawny, dirty, little thing and never bring their kind back to their home. Wamuu is like,"But daaaaaad," okay maybe not exactly like that but you know-

Kars lets Wamuu keep the human and nurse him back to health on one condition. He makes sure the thing doesn't cause trouble.

So over time, Tippy does get into shenanigans, resulting in passive aggression and sarcasm from Kars. Luckily Esidisi seems to be charmed by Wamuu's little human buddy. As Wamuu and Tippy get closer and he gets more healed up, they start developing feelings for each other and it's pretty obvious.

Kars tells Esi that they need to put a stop to it. Esi on the other hand.... Thinks it's sweet. Kars refuses to see it as anything but disgusting, a human and a pillarman, ugh! .... But Esi charms Kars a bit and sings a sweet romantic song about how love is a beautiful thing 🥺✨ Kars, of course, joins but only to act as the foil to Esi's hopeless romanticism. All this is happening while Wamuu and Tippy are exploring the "kingdom" at night and rolling around in the grass, looking at the stars and finally they end up kissing. Kars sees how happy Wamuu is and decides that maybe the human man isn't so bad after all... But he still has his huffy moments with him 🤭

Er well- yeah... (Tippy knew the pillar dudes before Dio and the gang actually!)

In the mansion:

Wamuu visits every now and then to see his partners! There is a ring Tippy and Wamuu have that can open a portal. But this portal works pretty weirdly. If Wamuu wants to visit Tippy, he opens the portal and walks through, the portal closes and Wamuu is now where he is. If Wamuu wants to go back to where he was before, they both have to open the portal so he can leave, otherwise it'll just open back up to where they are now x_x it's kind of confusing but they get the hang of it!

Wamuu started off as friends with Dio and Vanilla, but they all soon became a... quartet? A polyamorous quartet? Eh? *men singing in the background* yeah that's it! Dio just wants to chill for the most part, or go out to the club. So it's mainly Vanilla, Tippy, and Wamuu getting into shenanigans and Jonathan trying to be the voice of reason! Then of course, Dio inevitably walks in to find something has gone awry once again heheheh

Wamuu definitely loves his little guy though 💙 Tippy will ask to be carried around, picked up, thrown onto the couch or a bed or trampoline, horseplay a bit, but Wamuu knows his own strength and makes sure he doesn't hurt his little boyfriend 💪 He also tries to get that lazy little guy to train with him and work out. But Tippy will only work out when they go to the park and he gets on the swings, climbs trees, gets on the playground, runs around and plays tag with his partners, and gets to swim 🤣

I know nothing about Genshin but tell me about your favorite one of your little skrunklies!!! the guys on your team idk what theyre called-

okay okay so you can have up to 4 characters in your party (team) normally. sometimes when doing a quest involving a specific character, they join your party as a 5th trial character.

the first person in my team is yanfei (pronounced yehn-fay) and shes a pyro (fire) catalyst user. catalysts are a kind of complicated weapon to explain, but they're typically a book or some sort of orb, and their users have long-range, honing attacks that are infused with their element.

this is what her attack looks like! she's a legal advisor from the city of liyue! liyue is inspired by china, and is ruled over by the geo (rock) archon. they're also known as the city of contracts. because of this, they have a lot of laws, and she's memorized all of them (autism moments). she's also part adepti (the minor gods who can transform into animals that help protect liyue)

the next person on my team is chongyun! he is my comfort character <3. he's a cryo (ice) claymore user! a claymore is just a really big sword. he is also from liyue. he's also canonically disabled! he has a condition known as a 'pure yang spirit', or an excess of positive energy. because of this, he has trouble being around things that warm him, such as the sun, fiery events, spicy or warm food and drinks, and even strong emotions. he always has to wear lightweight and lightly colored clothing to combat this, as well as always carrying popsicles on him to cool him down.

he's also an exorcist, but his pure yang spirit scares the ghosts away so he's never actually seen a ghost. he's technically a great exorcist, but he's also not good at it.

bennett is from mondstadt, which is inspired by germany, and ruled over by the anemo (wind) archon, and is known as the city of freedom. he's an adventurer who has really bad luck, and also many fathers. he has a skill where he can transfer part of his potential damage to any character who stands in the circle cast by his skill, and standing in it also heals the character. he's a pyro sword user

the last spot on my team tends to vary! i replaced beidou with chongyun a few days ago. beidou is an electro claymore user who's also a lesbian pirate. she defeated a sea monster that even the gods couldn't, and she is also from liyue, but sometimes i still bring her out because she's really good when puzzles need electro.

if i need to break a pyro shield, which is necessary for a few bosses, i'll bring out barbara! she's a hydro (water) catalyst user, and she's a nun! she's also like 12, and is the little sister of the ruler of mondstadt. she's also a really good healer.

if i don't have anything in particular i need someone in the last spot for, i'll bring out yun jin just cause she's pretty.

(thats her). she's also from liyue bc almost all the characters i really like are for some reason. she's a geo polearm user, and she's also a professional opera singer! if you want to experience 2 minutes and 43 seconds of pure euphoria, you can check out this cutscene where she sings! no knowledge of genshin is required. it's sung in chinese, but there's an english translation at the bottom of the screen

so yeah those are my blorbos :D
