"Day 5: Cyberpunk AU"
My piece for the au roulette day of @narutorarepairweek
They are just made for that kind of AU so I immediately went for it.
Bonus Konan with wings
[Image ID: A digital drawing of Nagato and Konan in a Cyberpunk setting with purple as the main color used. Nagato is sitting on a wheelchair with a laptop on a slab attached to it. He has his right arm replaced with a bionic arm with the fingers ending in claws. He has a bunch of piercings: snake bites, one on the eyebrow, one on the ear and his navel is pierced too. He wears bandages on his legs up to his knee over dark blue pants. On his back, purple tubes are plugged with black connectors. He wears a transparent crop top. On his knees is Tendo, shirtless, who has mechanical parts showing on his arm and has an empty gaze, showing that he is currently deactivated. A bunch of cables are plugged to his back. Nagato is gently caressing his cheek while holding his waist. Behind them is Konan, she has the left side of her head shaved, wears orange lipstick and has a few piercings too: snake bites, labret, nose bridge and a few on the ears. She is wearing a dark short sleeve turtleneck and a purple flowers on her head. She's holding one of Tendo's hands, her other hand caressing his hair. Behind them is a bunch of computer setups, with two screens displaying purple rinnegan symbols. On the background is a bunch of servers with purple wiring on the left. On the center is a balcony with a view of cyberpunk amegakure. Over it cables are suspended to the ceiling as well as a little angel origami. On the left is a banner with the symbol of amegakure which is torn and ripped at the bottom, with a red horizontal paint strike over the symbol. On it is a picture of Hanzo being skewered by several black spikes. Between that and the balcony are two other pain paths, the human and asura paths, being stored in alcoves. They are wrapped standing up, respirator masks on the bottom of their face with a tube coming out of it, several plugs on the back of their heads and a blindfold over their eyes. /.End ID]

OKAY. scorpiclipse dimension ramble or something. Big post
its basically a sort.of swap au except. Well Lord Eclipse is still Lord and Sun is still servant. Hes like. Timid
think Bambi. But way worse. He is afraid of his own species guys!!! This man is scared of his own shadow/silly/nsrs
okay. dimension number and shit
Uh. Dimension 65930. The castle is actually located somewhere in the woods. Y'know. A rainforest
It's about like. Uh. well idk the height of the castle yet. Its walls, exterior, are mossy and have vines of those little pink flowers running on the bricks and through those little indentions between each brick. There's a triangular window above the large (wooden) castle doors, and it's a stained glass design of the newton star. Otherwise outside the castle isn't really that special. Sometimes you'll find a rose bush, or a BloodMoon or two wandering around. Think bloodhounds for those guys. Very vicious.
Anyways. back to the castle.
It's located in a rainforest clearing, sometimes called The Elder Grove. its a really ancient area, and the castles been there since it's existence.
Okay. I'm tired of describing that. Time for my kids:3
Lord Eclipse —
He's about like. 7-8 feet tall. Sometimes he'll look more like a Scorpion, though he doesn't very often. Mainly for a sort of intimidation technique before he retires to running away. /Silly
He normally wears something that you'd probably seen other Lord Eclipse's wear, y'know the stereotype (/j)
But. Black pants,, not exactly skin tight but they show off his leg shape I guess. Red cape. A very velvety feel to that. His cape has a hoodie, too! One that doesn't really fit perfectly, looks more like red riding hood. His cape thing has a little golden star shaped connector peice in the middle of his collarbone. He has a white button up shirt, long sleeves that he has rolled up to the elbow. His shoes are heels, yet they aren't stilettoes. How do you describe them. Like boots. Thick heel thing. Black in colour. They have a little red stripe at the ankle.
His personality in general is basically timid and shy. Though he does have a bit of anger issues. Get too close he'll hiss and sting. Or something idk what scorpions do. I'll add more later :3.

Klaus finally catches that flirty thief, please?
Trying so hard not to giggle...
Klaus was a little weirded out by what was going on. But also strangely interested in this person as well. He didn't know their name or anything like that. But what he did know was they had targeted him specifically.
He never felt like he was truly in danger. They never took anything that was really important either. Just a pen here, a paper clip there. Small things that Klaus wouldn't even notice went missing if it wasn't for the flirty post-its they left behind.
Weirder still was that only Klaus would ever be able to find these notes due to them being stuck in his desk. So he knew someone in the office, or at least someone with access to the office, was doing this. And Klaus couldn't help but ponder who it could possibly be.
He could very safely rule out Zapp, Zed, and Leonardo. Everything Klaus knew about the three of them led Klaus to believe they would never try to pull something like this. Zapp was far too bold and promiscuous to leave notes of "Don't mind me swiping your pen, do ya big guy? ;)" and "Just gonna tuck this away as our little secret <3". Leonardo didn't have need of pens or paper clips or push pins. Nor did Zed for that matter. And Zed himself would ask directly if he did.
Klaus also felt safe ruling out Chain and K.K. on basic principle. More or less for similar reasons to Zed and Leonardo. He wasn't entirely certain he could rule out Zapp from the stealing part... though swiping office supplies didn't seem like the kind of thing Zapp would do. And if it were Steven...
It was a whole other can of worms if it turned out to be Steven attempting to flirt through post-it notes and swiping small bits of office supplies.
~~~~~
Checking his pocket, Klaus realized he had forgotten to grab his large terabyte drive from his desk. It was rather important since he would be leaving first thing in the morning for his round-the-world business trip. Those two weeks would be crucial and Klaus would need that specific drive as it contained the copies of documents he and Steven had meticulously and painstakingly translated into several, admittedly obscure languages.
You froze behind Klaus's desk. He should have been gone by now. While you knew he wouldn't be back for a couple weeks, you were still determined to leave a sticky note behind the same way you did every night.
The only reason you were doing this was your crippling social anxiety. Whole heartedly believing you would never have a shot with Klaus no matter how badly you wanted it. And it really sucked because you knew you'd give your everything if you could just tell Klaus how you felt directly.
And you knew Klaus had been the last to leave the office, having watched him shoo Steven out not even ten minutes before he would get up to leave. Being a bit of a wall flower really paid off in this particular situation.
But not for long.
Without time to really think or hide, you swiped the first thing your hand fell on, a large black rectangle with a connector cord sticking out. Practically slapped a sticky note on the middle of the desk before attempting to dash off to the side hallway that lead deeper into the office space. Unfortunately, your foot just so happened to catch on the leg of the sofa. Not only did it hurt like hell, but now you were laying face down on the floor with Klaus practically teleporting to the loud thud.
"[Name]? What are you still doing in the office? Are you alright?" Klaus was quick to offer you a hand up, not even seeing the terabyte drive in your hand, "Was there something I forgot? I know I've been rather busy lately and your assistance with keeping track has absolutely been appreciated on that front."
You weren't in the right head space to deal with this, before you could stop yourself... "Uh, actually. I uh..."
Klaus's eyes had wandered down, checking for any sort of injury when he noticed you clutching a terabyte drive. While it did look familiar, he couldn't be certain it was his given how practically every terabyte drive looked identical and Klaus never bothered to mark the one he was after.
"You know the post-its with the vaguely flirty messages on them?" You would rather die than fess up, but Klaus had caught you red-handed, "That's been me this whole time. See I uh... I uh..."
Klaus tilted his head. As soon as you began speaking about the post-its he knew it had to be you. He never told a soul about them after all. And that revelation had Klaus slightly giddy, and a little guilty as he didn't even bother considering you to be the flirty thief. He genuinely thought you were too innocent and cute for such a thing.
"And uh... well..." You put the object into Klaus's hand, "I kinda panicked when I heard you coming back in. I'm pretty sure this is waaaay more important than the paper clips I usually run off with."
Staring down at the terabyte drive and mulling over everything, Klaus didn't respond right away. Now that he knew it was you, he found that he had seriously misjudged you as a person. And that from the string of flirtatious notes, he was a bit more interested than he first thought. While this wasn't his normal style, Klaus knew how he felt... he knew that he wouldn't be able to do anything about it with his trip looming so close.
In a very un-Klaus-like manner, after he helped you to your feet, Klaus pulled you flush against himself. His heartbeat mirrored yours in how fast they were both beating.
"Then perhaps I should uh... punish you accordingly right now?"
You felt like dying on the spot. Was Klaus serious? Doing something right now? Here in the office? There was no mistaking the way his voice had lowered, no mistaking his intentions. Your head was spinning just thinking about it. Excitement and a twinge of fear swirling around like a Texas twister.
Somehow the flirty persona you'd been writing notes in took over, "Oh? And what sort of punishment would you give a petty thief?"
Despite the hard blush across his face, Klaus was determined to see this through. As long as you were truly okay with it. He would back down in a heartbeat if this was merely idle flirting. Klaus loved the idea of pursuing a true relationship with you, yet he also found that he wasn't opposed to a more casual approach.
"Nothing too harsh I assure you, mein kleiner Dieb." Klaus leaned down slightly, large hand tracing up and down your spine, "Though it would end with you bent over my desk."
Your face felt like fire but you kept flirting anyways, "Is that a threat? Or a promise? Mr.Reinherz."
Klaus shuddered involuntarily, taking great pleasure in how you said that. He was absolutely mortified at how effective this was for him... And the only reason he was even remotely okay with this was because of how closely the two of you had been working together recently. How boldly you flirted with him, even if it was through sticky notes.
He was holding out hope that this would end in a proper relationship and not just a fling.
Lifting you up by the hips, Klaus was pleased as you wrapped your legs around him. Holding you close like this was nice, especially supporting you by holding onto your rear. One rough shove had half the contents of the desk on the floor, not that Klaus was in the mood to care.
He was far more focused on the tender kisses, lips pressed together as you tugged his tie loose. One large hand sliding your shirt up out of its neatly tucked-in position. Klaus leaning in, forcing you to steady yourself with one arm straight behind you. Blind-siding you with how quickly he decided to be this forward about his desires.
You knew he was a gentleman, then again... you were a wall flower with a secretly flirty side so maybe this was just the side of Klaus he kept buried. It didn't matter, you were enjoying yourself far too much to care.
Head tilting up on its own without hardly a thought from you as Klaus trailed kisses from your lips down your neck. Even his large hands were far more nimble than they appeared to be, making quick work of the buttons on your shirt. Granting Klaus access to your upper torso, which he took full advantage of. Kisses trailed all across your chest as large, warm hands explored your now vulnerable body.
"Klaaaauuuusssss~"
Slow, deep breaths through his nose tickled your sides, his head barely raising up as he spoke.
"Is this too much?" His voice seemed so much deeper now... you could feel it vibrating through your ribcage, "Am I doing too much too soon? I truly don't want to push you into this [Name]."
Your voice had gone from melting enjoyment to nervous in a second, "No, this is fine. I... I want this."
Klaus straightened up to look you in the eye, "[Name], please don't lie to me. If this is too much, if it's all happening too fast. I can stop. I care about you deeply and would like to have a proper relationship with you. Please... Tell me if I'm crossing a line."
Your heart squeezed, you bit your lip a little. Was this what you wanted? You knew you didn't want Klaus to leave right away, you were slightly terrified that asking him to stop would actually make him lose interest. After all, it was the intense, flirty, bold you that set this whole encounter in motion. Was that the side of you Klaus liked?
Cupping your cheek, "[Name]. Am I crossing a line by doing this?"
Klaus panicked. He hadn't expected you to start crying all of a sudden. His instinct was to kick himself for even attempting this. It wasn't like him in the slightest and he desperately wanted you to know that. He was much more the kind to cuddle and take his time within a relationship. What was he thinking going this far this fast? Flirting as if he were in a cheap, budget romance movie. He should have been more considerate! He should have--
"I... I don't know." You finally managed to say, "I want this, I know I do. But... I just... I got so caught up in everything... then realized how it must look from your perspective... and being asked made me hyper-aware of what was going on so I panicked. And I... I... I don't know anymore."
Stroking your cheek with his thumb, Klaus took a deep breath. He knew how you felt, he could practically feel it in his bones.
"[Name], I should tell you." Klaus tilted your chin up, "I'm not the type of man who would do this at all. I too found myself swept up in the swill of emotions and acting on impulse."
He took another deep breath as he looked away and back again, "I'm not lying when I say I want to be with you. I could never partake in Zapp's means of dating. No matter what else happens, I would be honored to have the opportunity to get to know you better. And I fear I wouldn’t have been able to make that clear until it was likely far too late."
You shifted a little on top of his desk, sitting up a bit but not covering your chest just yet.
"I never wanted to hurt you, in any way." Klaus leaned in slowly, "Would it be okay for me to kiss you?"
"Y-yes."
You didn't give Klaus a chance to back away, lips pressed together once more. With a much softer kiss than before, Klaus relaxed into the tender action. Pulling you flush against himself once more, though without allowing his hands to wander. He just wanted to hold you close, to hold you tenderly. And make sure you knew he intended to proceed with the entire relationship the right way...
Find the Words Tag
Tagged by @captain-kraken here and @talesofsorrowandofruin here. Thank you both💜
And gently tagging: @sabinabardot @elliottsbigstrongboyarms @toribookworm22 - your words are: know, knife, keen, kind.
From Captain 🐙 - let's see how many I can find in the sci-fi* backburner project, The Fulcrum:
blue
The green, and blue, and silver patterns inlaid into the white walls will light up, the light will crawl up from under the waves when the Priests intone the Evening Graces and the workers return home.
borrow lend (the closest vibe I could find)
The tall avian ties the raptor’s reins to a smaller trunk and goes off to fetch water. The raptor sniffs the air and scratches at the ground, looking for a smooth area devoid of stones, where it may rest more comfortably. … smiles despite everything. Her own nest tonight won’t be any different, and she feels a wispy tie of comradery with the beast - oh, how low she has fallen. The Land Treader returns from the river and sets her water gourd on the ground, then her luggage next to it. … observes her, noting the rolled up blankets strapped to the packs, and not daring to hope that the traveller will lend her one for the night.
bite
On a whim, she reaches for a puffy ball of deep fried dough, only to find it crumble under her fingers. Without a word, her guide takes one as well, making sure that she’s watching. Then they poke a hole in the ball and fill it with a mix of marinated molluscs and fresh berries, followed by a spoonful of bright yellow liquid from a vessel to which Ra’na paid no attention to earlier. The dish assembled, they consume it in a single swift bite. Ra’na does not have the confidence to mimic them.
berry
The box drifts upwards slowly, lazily. After the initial movement, it doesn’t sway as much. It’s almost trivial to forget that they are in fact moving. Almost. Not quite. It is now far above the [mushroom] forest, so the caps appear like a nearly flat field, with only a small hillock here and there. … scans this new plane, a plaid over the cool, shadowy areas where she used to pick mushrooms, rhizomes, and berries.
break
It’s the shortest path, behind the Artisans’ shops and down the rickety bridge - an ugly but convenient connector between Duskdreamer and Shoregazer. From there, she looks over the highway again, so very different from when she stood there at the break of dawn. Morning crowds buzz, fill it to the brim.
And from Tales - let's go from the very first draft of The Truth Teller, since I'm looking at it to see what can be salvaged.
morning
It was one of those idyllic mornings which Kayan had learnt to love. They were sitting at the table in the breakfast room; the dishes were cleared, but there was still a teapot and a large bowl of late summer plums on the crocheted runner. Aunt sat sideways to the table, sipping tea from a ceramic mug painted in colourful flowers, and reading a handwritten, battered journal. Yavron lounged opposite to her, with a steaming mug of black coffee, and his newspaper folded in a sign of boredom.
muddle
"It’s perfectly safe, Dr Averron, I assure you. It will simply obfuscate your emotions from any Tellers in the vicinity. You will feel numb and detached, perhaps a little careless, but anything you say under the effect of a Muddler will sound like nonsensical rambling. Your own memories will seem a little… well, muddled to you."
mean
“You're a Knacked, kid.” Yavron raised his voice. “That means, when you die, you blow up half a block, or probably more in your case. That means forty-odd apartments turned to rubble, when the residents least expect it. So, you don’t take your chances. You don’t fight, unless you absolutely must.”
million
✖️ (literally no occurrences in any of my WIPs)
maintain
“So how does it work?” Kayan asked. “I mean, Yavron’s job. Fake identity? You clearly don’t work all the time, so there must be suspicious holes in your record.” “Fake identity, yes. I usually maintain two at a time, working different jobs. Holes get filled with some fabricated information. Easy enough.”
Happy Anniversary, my love. Sometimes I pinch myself knowing that I get to spend the rest of my life loving you, cherishing you and letting you know just how much you mean to me. Plus, the sex is definitely another bonus.
Like I always tell you, you truly changed my life for the better and now I can’t imagine how it would be without you by my side. You really make me want to be a better dancer, singer, husband, uncle and overall..better everything. I genuinely cannot begin to describe the joy and happiness you’ve brought into my life since I met you. But maybe throughout our lives together, I can try to explain it.
You get me in ways nobody else on the planet does -- not even my own parents! You know me better than I know myself, and you always will too so you better be giving yourself a pat on the back for that, mister. Thank you for always being my biggest supporter and always being there for me when I need you the most. You have no idea how much you just being there means to me, and I dunno if I’ll ever be able to find the words to tell you.
I love you so much, Taemin.
Yours eternally,
Nini.
Since I know how much you love this scent, I decided to get you a gift box for it.
It includes: 3 OZ. EAU DE PARFUM SPRAY, A 0.33 OZ. TRAVEL SPRAY, & A 1.6 OZ. BODY LOTION
Tumblr media
Next, Taylor Fladgate Single Harvest 1896 Tawny Port, all the way from Portugal. I was recommended this the last time I was in France so..I had to get it! Don’t kill me for how much it is, okay? I also got a wine gift basket, with all the goodies you could want to make up for it.
The magical quality of this wine is unique, hard to compare even with the few other wines of similar age that have survived to the present day. Its depth and density is astonishing, even taking into account the wine’s concentration over a century and a quarter of aging in wood.
At first, a rich and seductive redolence of black coffee and liquorice takes center stage but a host of other scents and nuances soon emerge, creating an intricate display of complex aromas. Notes of sawn cedarwood blend with hints of dried rose petal, fennel and eucalyptus. Notes of black pepper and vanilla add a warm spicy dimension. On the palate the wine is dense, round and velvety with impressive volume and concentration, the sweetness is balanced by a fresh acidity. Mellow flavors of coffee and butterscotch combine with vibrant notes of orange peel and citrus. The finish is endless, the dense mellow flavors remaining on the palate long after the wine has been tasted.
About the bottle: Each decanter designed and produced exclusively for Taylor Fladgate 1896 Single Harvest Port was individually hand blown and finished by skilled craftmen, making it unique.
I need a Yoongi and Estelle alien au
“These guys.. there Uh.., a lot bigger than you,”
Estelle looked up at Namjoon, eyes wide. He was what humans called a half cast, born from a human parent and another species. His pointed ears stuck out from his silver hair, a pair of purple eyes conflicting his tan skin.
“How much bigger?” Estelle asked as they walked through the corridor, “Should I be worried?”
“No, no!” Namjoon shook his head, “Females typically get to be about seven foot, males can be as tall as nine foot,”
“Nine feet tall?!” Estelle swallowed thickly, “Oh..,”
Different species had different characteristics, Estelle knew this. She specialised in a autonomy based biology and culture studies, which is why she was a perfect for bridging with new species and planets.
“But they’ve never seen a human before,” Namjoon explained, “You’ll be a first,”
“To be fair, humans are a dying race,” Estelle frowned, “We seem to be intergrading with more species, only twenty percent of the human popular is fully human,”
“Can’t say it’s a bad thing, humans are idiots,” Namjoon shrugged, “You’ll be meeting with one of our other connectors, Kyra, she’ll hook you up with everything you need,”
Estelle nodded as she stepped into the inner doors. The equipment required for this mission included a breathing mask, the air in the planet wasn’t safe for full humans.
As she slipped it over her face, turning on the compressor and taking a few deep breaths, the outer doors opened.
Most of the planet was covered in forest, the species here connected with the world around them and respected the planet. Estelle could admire it, it was something humans never did.
Kyra was a bit taller than her, bright red hair and large green eyes for seeing in the dark. Her planet had eighteen months of darkness and two months of light, which made up what was their year.
She was bioluminescent, her hair and spots coming to life in the dark.
“Wow, you humans really are plain!” Kyra laughed.
Estelle smiled, “Yeah, it’s nice to meet you,”
Kyra had a wicked smile on her lips, “I’m guessing Joonie gave you the run down?”
“Something like that..,” Estelle mumbled as she watched the way the flowers swayed in the wind.
“Yeah well, just remember that if that little mask of yours comes off, you got two minutes before your dead,” Kyra explained, “Ready to meet them?”
She nodded, following the girl down to the village. It seemed cozy enough, the houses were massive compared to the smallness Estelle was used to on Earth.
Everything was hand made by the people, a tiny smile on her face as she watched as people shared and swapped their belongings and needs.
“Way of life is a give and take experience,” Kyra explained, “Just be careful though, these guys get real defensive over their mates,”
“Oh right, I forget they have a mating connection,” Estelle murmured, “But it seems nice over all-“
“Human!”
Estelle was surprised to be hoisted up in the air, held up as a tall male held her. He had dark hair and yellow eyes, canines coming from his mouth.
“I’ve seen your kind in books! You guys really are tiny! But why are you so pale? And why is your hair yellow?”
“Hoseok, put her down!” Kyra lectured the male, “She’s fragile too!”
“What’s fragile?” Hoseok asked curious.
“You’ll crush her before she can even conceive what’s happening,”
The male that had spoke had a gruff voice, an annoyed look on his face as he stood behind Hoseok. He had the same black hair and yellow eyes, long pointed ears and a scar over his left eye.
He was a little bit shorter than Hoseok but still massive compared to both herself and Kyra. Estelle gulped as she was placed down, the male looking down at her.
Something about him was both comforting and intimidating.
“Hello,” She spoke softly, “I’m Estelle,”
All she got was a slight glare before he turned and walked towards one of the buildings, a long tail swishing behind him as he went.
“That’s Yoongi,” Kyra explained, “He and Hoseok are the clan leaders here, sworn in like their fathers before them and their fathers before that-“
“He likes you,” Hoseok’s voice laughed.
“Pardon?” Estelle looked at the tall male.
“Normally he hisses, screeches and runs off when he meets new people,” Hoseok grinned, “Believe me, he likes you,”
What are the factors that cause LED display instability?
Now, LED screens have become a part of people's lives. In the streets, alleys, squares and stations, there are all kinds of LED special-shaped screens of different sizes and shapes. It is a system engineering integrating optics, structural mechanics, electronics and computer science.
According to the statistics of LED display industry data, 90% of all LED displays in China have large or small faults. An electronic engineer summarizes the main attribution of these faults based on years of experience. I believe that with these, we can control the generation of faults from the source and improve the quality of the display. Do you know how to buy and install outdoor LED display? What are the factors that cause LED display instability? Today, sostron introduces:
Tumblr media
80% of the faults of LED large screen are caused by the following factors: harness, terminal and connector of AC power distribution, harness and connector of signal and low-voltage DC connection, switching power supply module, fan and plastic shell assembly. If these interfaces, cables, power supply and chassis are not properly selected, the LED display screen will be completely or partially black, flowered, mosaic, no signal, etc. These problems are also very difficult to maintain. The engineers of Lianhe Huiye stressed: therefore, we pay attention to them in the production process to reduce the failure rate.
80% of the remaining faults are caused by the following reasons: solder joints, capacitors, terminals, LED lights on PCBA, water leakage and dust accumulation caused by insufficient protection level of the box, corrosion of external screws and hardware, and control cards. These causes may cause the LED screen to have blind lights or highlight, one or more lines are not bright, lack of color, etc. if there is a problem with the control card or software, the image display will be abnormal.
Tumblr media
The outdoor LED display screen must be designed in strict accordance with the testing standards, waterproof and dustproof, wind and high temperature resistant, otherwise it is easy to have various faults, and even the entire LED display screen will be scrapped. The engineers of United Huiye technology suggested that in addition, the operators of the display screen should master relevant basic knowledge and have good use habits. In addition, professional maintenance personnel can also reduce the failure rate to a certain extent.
Tumblr media
Thank you for watching. I hope we can solve your problems. Sostron is a professional LED display manufacturer. We provide all kinds of displays, display leasing and display solutions around the world. If you want to know:What should I pay attention to when buying a large LED screen? Please click read.
[Army Version] Ikerev Name Analysis!
Lancelot Kingsley:
The name Lancelot means “servant.”
OK so at first I was really confused because he’s the King of Hearts, which is pretty much the farthest thing from a servant. But then I realized that it could be alluding to how he was forced to work for Amon for so many years.
Or this could also be a reference to the Arthurian legends, in which Sir Lancelot was said to be the greatest of the Knights of the Round Table.
The surname Kingsley means “a king’s meadow.”
Given that the entire Kingsley line are Kings, this is a very fitting name for them. Also Kingsley is similar to the word kingly, which definitely describes Lancelot.
Jonah Clemence:
The name Jonah means “dove/pigeon.”
The two birds are often seen as symbols of peace. They’re also often seen as messengers.
I wouldn’t necessarily associate Jonah with peace, since he’s kinda rash and very quick to anger.
But something else worth acknowledging was that his little brother ended up joining the Black Army, and the symbol of the Black Army is a raven. Doves and ravens are usually considered opposites, which could stand for how the brothers ended up on opposite sides.
The surname Clemence means “merciful.”
It seems a bit ironic to me, since the Queens of Hearts aren’t really known for their forgiveness (the original Queen chopped off people’s heads without listening to their reasons and Jonah literally held a grudge against Sirius for 14 years and counting).
Edgar Bright:
The name Edgar means “rich/prosperous” and “spear.”
Maybe the “rich/prosperous” part is about the Bright family wealth? They’re the third most important family in the Red Territory, so you’d think they’d be pretty rich. And then they’ve also assassinated people for profit before as well.
And the spear is a weapon, so it probably points toward how Edgar was weaponized to be the perfect assassin.
The surname Bright means “bright” (obviously).
I thought it was kinda ironic, just like Clemence, because obviously the duty of the Jack of Hearts is anything but bright.
Zero:
The name Zero means “void.”
I know that this was just the number he was given to differentiate him from the rest of the human experiments.
But I still thought that “void” kinda describes Zero around the time he just left the Magic Tower, because he doesn’t have anywhere to go anymore. And even when he joined the Red Army, there’s still soldiers who disrespects him because he wasn’t from the crimson lineage.
Kyle Ash:
The name Kyle means “narrow; strait.”
A strait, in case you didn’t know, is a narrow passage body of water connecting two other, larger bodies of water.
I interpreted Kyle as the strait and the Red and Black Armies as the two larger bodies. Since he’s a doctor and his primary goal is to save lives, he can act as a sort of connector between the two territories.
The surname Ash means “ash tree.”
Ash trees are said to have protective and healing properties, which makes sense since the Ash family are all doctors.
Ray Blackwell:
The name Ray means either “king” or “counsel.”
The “king” part is obvious, given that he’s the King of Spades.
And the word “counsel” can refer to how wise he is. He’s able to give good advice to people and run an entire Army at just 24 years old.
Or, the “counsel” part could also refer to how the rest of his Army supports him. Fenrir is his best buddy who would absolutely die for him, Sirius is always ready with some sort of strategy, Luka is practicing with his massive sword, and Seth is insanely strong. I personally believe that Ray wouldn’t be such an excellent King without their support, and he also acknowledges it himself.
The surname Blackwell means literally “a black well.”
The “black” part probably refers to the Black Territory, which he is the King of. I have no idea what the “well” part could refer to, though. Maybe it just sounds really cool?
Sirius Oswald:
The name Sirius means “burning/glowing.”
The “burning/glowing” part could refer to the person he is deep down inside, as opposed to the cool and mature exterior he usually tries to upkeep.
Also, his family owns a flower shop called “Canis Major” and his siblings are named Furud/Zeta, Wezen, Mirzam, and Aludra, which are all stars in the constellation of the Canis Major.
Given that he’s the oldest in his family (and also bc he’s a suitor), it makes sense that he would be named after the brightest star in the sky.
The surname Oswald means “god” and “power.”
These are both extremely powerful words, so it’s probably to be expected that he would canonically be the strongest suitor in terms of fighting ability.
Luka Clemence:
The name Luka means “bringer of light.”
Honestly I squealed when I saw the definition for this name bc it fits Luka so much! He brings light into everyone’s lives, but he just doesn’t realize it himself.
Also the Clemence bros both seem to have names related to heaven? Luka literally means bringer of light and doves are pretty much the symbol of heaven as well.
I’ve already talked about the surname “Clemence” in the Jonah section, so I won’t put it here again!
Fenrir Godspeed:
The name Fenrir means “fen-dweller.”
A fen, if you didn’t know, is a “low and marshy or frequently flooded area of land” (thanks Google!) I can’t really fathom why Fenrir is named after that, so perhaps a more accurate interpretation is that his name is also connected to Fenrir the Wolf, from Norse mythology, who’s supposed to eat the Sun and Odin when Ragnarok rolls around.
Basically, Fenrir the Wolf is incredibly strong and chaotic, and both of those qualities also belong to Fenrir the human!
(also this means he’s the son of loki now lmao)
The surname Godspeed means “good wishes, specifically to someone who is beginning a journey.”
If I remember correctly, one of the two keywords describing Fenrir is “lucky star” or something along those lines. So a word meaning wishing someone good luck before starting a journey fits perfectly with Fenrir’s luckiness trait.
Seth Hyde:
The name Seth means “appointed.”
If you think about how the Magic Tower purposefully stationed him in the Black Army, then the whole “appointed” thing makes sense.
Also, this could refer to Set, the Egyptian god, who is known as the god of chaos, and he’s commonly associated with evilness. I guess that Seth’s connection to the Magic Tower and all the “work” he has done for them makes him “evil” as well, so maybe the game creators decided to name him after Set to hint at his true associations.
The surname Hyde means “someone living on a hide (which is a type of measurement) of land.”
As with Fenrir’s name from above, this doesn’t really make any sense, so I interpreted this name as originating from “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” instead. So, if you didn’t know, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are different egos in the same person, and Mr. Hyde is supposed to be the “evil” one.
(Cybird’s really playing it up with the “evil” theme in Seth’s name geez...)
I suppose this can point towards how Seth is a different person inside than what he’s like on the outside. The “outside Seth,” who is outgoing and friendly, corresponds with the good-natured Dr. Jekyll, while the “inside Seth,” who is cunning and devious, corresponds with the ruthlessness of Mr. Hyde.
Part 2 here.
Claire Novak's (Surprisingly) Not-So-Lame Day
2k
this fic is written for @dean-has-great-taste as part of @starrynightdeancas' gift exchange. thanks sophie for organizing this, it was a lot of fun <33 and i hope you enjoy this, gen!!
*****
How did Claire find herself joining Dean, Cas, and Jack for an excursion to the mall?
Well.
Cas had texted her yesterday, with an extreme amount of emojis and emoticons that took some time to decipher, asking if she wanted to go shopping with him, Dean, and Jack. Apparently Jack needed new clothes and they needed a gift for Eileen’s birthday coming up, and maybe they could go bowling or something afterwards.
And normally she would’ve said no way because hanging out with old guys was lame and she didn’t like little kids, but she needed an excuse to get out of Jody and Donna’s weekend plans of cleaning out the garage. Plus, Kaia needed to study for a test—she actually enjoyed school, the weirdo—and had requested no distractions.
So that’s how she found herself sitting in the back of the Impala next to a carseat, listening to one of Dean’s old cassette tapes (which wasn’t too bad, but she’d never admit it).
“What’s that?” Jack asked, stretching against his carseat straps to jab at one of the pins Claire wore on her leather jacket.
“It’s the lesbian flag,” she told him. Cas looked back at them from the front seat, smiling.
“This one?” Jack pointed to the rainbow pin on her pocket.
“It’s the pride flag.”
Jack considered that for a moment before announcing, “I want one. And this one.” He pointed to the mothman pin on her lapel, then the big-eyed, green alien. “And this one... and this one, and this one.” (Alex said she had more pins than leather on her jacket, but sue her, she liked making her clothing her own).
Jack, it seemed, also liked… unique clothing. The kid was wearing rain boots even though the sun was out and overalls with embroidered flowers. He dressed weird, there was no way around it. But so did Cas, so there was probably no hope for him, poor kid.
“Okay,” she decided. “I know where to get you some.”
Jack beamed and swung his legs. “Don’t kick the seat,” Dean told him, and Jack pouted at him.
Claire was surprised Dean even let a carseat in his precious Impala. Pulling out her phone, she asked, “Can we listen to my music?”
Dean started to respond with a “Hell no,” but Cas spoke up first, “Of course.”
Dean spluttered as Claire connected to the bluetooth connector Sam had finally convinced Dean to install. The old man didn’t realize it was the 21st century, apparently.
“I wanna listen to Gaga!” Jack said, leaning over to look at her phone.
At first she thought that was some baby talk, then she realized Jack was into pop music. Ugh. But it would annoy Dean, so...
Leaning in conspiratorially with Jack, she let him scroll through her phone and choose which song to play. When “Born This Way” started filtering through the car, Dean groaned.
“Really?” he asked, sending her a glare in the rearview mirror. Mission accomplished.
Jack clapped along and Cas turned the music up louder. “Great choice, Jack,” he said.
Dean, for all his grumbling, didn’t turn down the music, and Claire caught him glancing at Cas, who tapped his fingers on his thigh to the beat. Dean looked like he was fighting back a smile and Claire rolled her eyes. Dude was so whipped.
When they parked at the mall, Cas grabbed Jack’s hand before he could sprint across the parking lot. “You have to look both ways,” he reminded him gently, and Jack nodded.
“Claire’s gonna buy me pins,” he said, jumping onto the curb.
“Yup.” Claire pat her jacket pocket. “Good ol’ credit card fraud.”
“Woah, now,” Dean started to protest.
“You and Sam are the ones who taught me!” Claire reminded him.
“We’ll pay for them,” Cas said, opening the door to the mall. Jack skipped inside, his rain boots squeaking on the tiled floor.
“We’re doing what now?” Dean asked Cas, taking his hand. Gross.
“Come on, Jack,” Claire said, catching up to the toddler. “Let’s go get you some style.” Over her shoulder, she called, “Meet up with you guys later.”
“Have fun!” Cas called.
“Don’t get kidnapped,” Dean added.
As they distanced themselves from the old geezers, Jack grabbed her hand, and Claire startled a little. “Do you like dinosaurs?” he asked.
Someone passing by gave them a smile, and Claire realized people probably thought Jack was her younger brother. She let him hold her hand anyway. “Sure.”
“What’s your favorite? Mine is the bon-ta-sore-us.” He sounded out the word carefully.
“Don’t know. What’s the one with the spiky horns?”
“Ti-ce-a-tops?”
“Yeah, that sounds cool.”
“That’s my second favorite!” He started jumping from one colored tile to the next. “And the T-Rex. That’s Dee’s favorite. And Dad likes the steg-a-sore-us.” He peered up at her. “Did you know he got to see dinosaurs? Right in front of him!”
“You know what that means, right?” He shook his head. “He’s super old. He’s basically a dinosaur himself.”
Jack’s eyes widened. “He’s a dinosaur,” he repeated in a hushed whisper.
“Yup.” Spotting Hot Topical, she headed that way. “You should tell him that.”
Inside the store, Jack let go of her hand to grab a stuffed cat. “Claire! Like yours!”
Claire rolled her eyes. “Yeah.” So, she still had the Grumpy Cat Cas had bought her. She wasn’t cruel enough to throw it away when the guy was trying so hard to make up for walking around in her dead dad’s body. Plus, the stuffed animal was kinda cute. Not that she was going to tell anyone that.
“Here ya go,” she told Jack, finding a box of pins at the register. She brought the box down to his level and Jack ran over to look inside.
“I want a Doc McStuffins pin,” he said, plunging his hand into the box.
“I don’t know if they have those.”
As they rooted through the box of pins, she heard familiar voices and looked up to see Dean and Cas walking inside.
“What are you guys doing here?” she asked.
“I like this store,” Cas said and Dean rolled his eyes. Among the pleather and black, Cas’ dingy old trench coat—over a Winnie the Pooh sweatshirt instead of a suit—and Dean’s ratty flannel and boots only looked more ridiculous. She took it back—even Jack dressed better than them.
“You guys don’t have to be in here,” she told them.
“What, we’re too old?” Dean asked defensively.
“Yeah, actually.”
Cas poked at a toy and it squeaked. God, could they be any more embarrassing?
“Dad!” Jack called, holding out a rainbow pin. “Look, they have soo many.” Cas joined Jack in going through the pins and Claire asked Dean, giving his outfit a meaningful look,
“Was the Army Surplus store too trendy for you?”
“Did they kick you out of Sephora for buying up all the eyeliner?“ Dean shot back.
Touché. In a truce, she held out a pin with the bisexual flag. She wasn’t really sure what Dean identified as, if he even gave it any thought, but guessed it was close enough. “For you.”
Dean rolled his eyes but took it. “I’m not weighing down my jacket with this crap, though.”
“No, ‘course not, that would mean having any sort of style.”
“Can I help you with anything?” asked an employee with two nose rings and jewelry up and down their ears— so cool. Claire saw the way their eyes flicked between them, probably thinking they made a weird group, and she took a step back, trying to silently communicate that yes, she was shopping with them, but no, she was not as lame as them.
“Just looking,” Dean told them.
“I like your drawings,” Jack said and the employee looked down at their arms which were littered with tattoos.
“Thanks.”
“My dad has a drawing. It’s Enochian.”
The employee—Wren, by the name tag—looked at Cas with new respect in their eyes. “Language of the angels. Sick.”
Cas looked pleased. “Thank you. It’s come in handy more than once.”
The employee went back to looking confused and, starting to walk away, told them to call if they needed anything.
“Do you want anything?” Cas asked Claire, and Claire looked through the box. She grabbed a pentagram pin and, seeming to copy her, Jack grabbed another one, clutching several pins already in his fists.
“You like bees, right?” Claire asked Cas, spotting a “Save the Bees” pin. She held it up for him.
Cas’ eyes brightened. “That’s a wonderful message.” He glanced back at Dean and frowned. “Dean, they’re not going to bite.”
Claire looked over to see Dean shying away from a few emo teens. “Look like it,” Dean muttered, joining them. Jack lifted up his hands, asking to be hoisted up. Dean set him on his hip and Jack showed him the pins he’d selected. He held a dinosaur pin to Dean’s collar.
“Do you want one, Dee?”
“He’s too lame,” Claire piped up. Not for the first time, she noticed the healed over piercing mark on Dean’s right ear and pointed to it. “Looks like he used to be cool, though.”
“Yeah, guess so,” Dean said dryly. His hand went to his earlobe. “Pierced it myself, in high school.”
“I think you’re still cool,” Cas told him, and Claire fake-gagged, making Jack giggle.
Cas took the pins to the cash register where Wren rang them up. Dean added the bisexual flag pin and Claire threw in a pair of spiky earrings, because, hey, they were paying.
“15.36,” Wren told them, dropping the pins into a bag.
“My dad’s a dinosaur,” Jack told them, trying to see over the edge of the counter. Wren raised an eyebrow, Cas looked surprised, and Claire stifled a laugh.
“Claire, help me,” Jack said, grabbing the bag from Cas as they exited the store. Moving to the side, Claire helped him attach the pins to his overalls. A smiley face, a pride flag, a grinning Stitch, a sunflower, a dinosaur, and the pentagram. The pins clacked as Jack tugged at his overalls, trying to look at them all. Overall, a chaotic look, but it kinda matched his vibe.
“Lookin’ good,” she told him, and Jack beamed.
“I’m like you!”
Alright, she wouldn’t take it that far, but, “Yeah, close enough.”
Cas attached the “Save the Bees” pins to his trench coat pocket and it ended up crooked. Rolling her eyes, Claire said, “Let me.”
She reattached the pin and stepping back to look it over, decided, “You could actually make that coat look cool if you added more stuff to it.”
Cas looked down at himself. “Thank you.”
“Nothing’s gonna save that sweatshirt, though.” Couldn’t let his ego get too big.
“Dean said he liked it,” Cas said, glancing back at Dean, who was shooting an evil eye at Claire. He quickly wiped it off his face and draped an arm over Cas’ shoulders.
“Yeah, it’s uh… Charming.” He guided Cas away from Claire. “Don’t listen to her, she still thinks sarcasm is a personality trait.”
“Screw you, old man,” she called. Jack skipped after them and she checked her phone to see Kaia had texted her: How’s everything going? They drive you crazy yet?
They’re so weird, she texted back. Then she added, They’re not too bad.
“Come on, Jack,” she said, hurrying to catch up with him, Dean, and Cas. “Let’s go get our ears pierced.”
“Yay!” Jack cheered. He grabbed her hand and tugged her down the mall.
“Woah, woah, you’re not doing that,” Dean protested like the wet blanket he was.
“You can get yours pierced too,” Claire told him, and he faltered,
“I don’t want, we’re not—“
“You know you want to.” She let Jack lead her away and Dean called after them,
“We're never bringing you shopping again!”
Grinning, she turned to shout over her shoulder, “You know you love me!”
pt1: Since Himmel’s body is fragile he struggles a lot during PE. Many things his classmates and Venti can do are a problem for him. He envies his younger brother, however at the same time he beats himself for feeling this way. He really dislikes staying in the hospital (I mean who doesn’t?). He would probably get lonely, so he’s very happy whenever you and Venti visit or text him. He will always answer immediately. I can imagine he’ll just text you at midnight saying ,,Hospital beds suck”
continuation
Pt2: Venti often hides his worries and runs away from his problems. He cares so much for his brother. If Himmel ever got sick out of the blue, he would prob just freeze and wouldn’t know what to do. Venti also wouldn’t visit him very often, atleast on his own. I feel like it would be hard for him to face Himmel. Either he’ll ask you to come with him to visit or you’ll have to convince him. (I'm not a very good write but I hope you like my ideas ^^")
Ahhh venti would prolly feel so awkward around him if he’s the only one who visits. Like he did bring him his favorite snack/beverage and a bouquet of flowers so he can change the wilting one resting next to him.
Himmel will attempt to start a conversation but venti just feels really jumpy and tense whenever the older twin calls for him.
“Venti,”
The sound of his name caused him to jolt a bit and looked at his brother. A weak and strained smile was plastered on his face and he knows this smile won’t ever convince him at all.
“Yeah?”
It was unusual to see Himmel so petulant. Did he do something wrong? Did he forget something? Was he supposed to bring you with him that’s why he looks so disappointed?
“What’s wrong?” Himmel asked, clutching the bedsheets tightly and never faltering his gaze at his brother.
“Huh...? What do you mean? I’m fine as always!” Venti grinned and continued to tend the flowers.
Why did I say that...
He bit his lip and set his focus on the vase in front of him.
The frail boy sighed and shuffled in his bed. His legs were dangling on the edge and he pushed himself to stand up in which Venti quickly assisted him and looked at him in utter bewilderment.
“W-what are you doing?! You should be lying on the bed!” He exclaimed and pushed him down only to receive a weak push of his shoulders.
His green optics widened, surprised to see him act like a rebel. He already knows Himmel is tired of being inside this room, so alone and so empty, a black and white dollhouse set for him.
His grip on him loosened, arms falling back to his side yet ready to take action if something ever happens to him. Himmel smiled and raised his hand to pat his soft hair.
“I know you’re worried about me but I’m gradually getting strong. I always take my meds so don’t worry too much if I suddenly faint.” Himmel stated before turning his head to look at the window in front of him.
Little by little, the skies were getting darker. The painted canvas with hues of oranges and pinks are slowly turning to inky colors with little bit of remains of specks of yellows and blues. His eyes shifted to the familiar silhouette entering the hospital’s main entrance and his heart raced to discover you were also here to visit him.
His attention was back to Venti whose body was hunched as he sat on the wooden chair next to his bed. He slowly walked towards him and lowered a bit until he was eye-level with him.
Venti’s eyes flickered when he see a pinky was in front of him. One of his brows arched in confusion before his gaze was set on Himmel’s with a gentle smile tugged to his lips.
“How about we make a pinky promise?” Himmel invited.
Venti looked at his finger then back to him, face still scrunched up at this sudden declaration. He looked away and rubbed the back of his head.
“Aren’t we too old to do this...?” His tone wavered, almost sounding so unsure of doing the childish tradition when they were kids.
“What about it? [Name] holds this as something special to her.”
Venti lifted his head up and looked at him with wide eyes.
“I made a promise with her yesterday. A vow that I’ll get better soon. That I’ll walk alongside with you two once I recover.” Himmel added. There was kindness in his smile, a gentleness. It was the smile of one who laughed with ease and saw person under the behaviour, a soul-connector.
He was the kind of person who lived how he believed people should, as if he were sunshine that only radiated from the best aspects of those he met, their flaws entirely invisible to his gaze. He was a calm sea, dancing birdsong and the new buds of spring.
The pinky was still. Waiting for Venti to join in him to create a new oath. Slowly, he raised his right hand and closed it until the little finger was left open and laced it with Himmel’s.
Venti stifled his laugh at this childish acts yet he let himself indulge it, reminding the old days the three of you making promises with one another to always stay together.
“Then I promise you I’ll show you the beauty of this world. The blue sky and the birds flying freely along the winds, we’ll make ballads together with [Name] just like we did back then when we’re still kids.”
3 points to pay attention to in LED plant light tissue culture lighting
Now growers will choose to use LED plant lights to fill light. Because the growth of plants can be affected by the control and adjustment of LED plant li.ghts to achieve the effect that growers want, LED plant lights are one of the most important conditions in tissue culture lighting, mainly from light quality, light intensity, light cycle, etc. aspect:
Tumblr media
Light quality
The light quality of LED plants lights has a significant effect on the induction of callus, the proliferation of cultured tissues and the differentiation of organs. Like lily bulbs, cultured under red light, the callus differentiated after 8 weeks. The callus will appear only after several weeks of culture under blue light.
15 days after inoculation with gladiolus bulbs, shoots were cultivated under blue light, and the formed seedlings grew vigorously, and the seedlings were slender under white light. The light quality of LED plants lights also has a certain impact on the growth of tissue cultured seedlings. Studies like carnations show that different wavelengths of light play different roles in tissue culture. Blue light helps induce the production of lateral buds and increase protein content. Red light can promote the growth and neat growth of buds.
White light is beneficial to the growth and development of tissue cultured seedlings, with the highest biological yield, followed by red light; blue light promotes the increase of reducing sugar content in stems and leaves, but has little effect on total sugar; white light can also increase the synthesis of chlorophyll. Fan Cihui et al. found that gladiolus globules emerge earlier under blue light than under white light and red light, the seedlings grow vigorously, and the root system is strong; the seedlings are slender under white light, and the number of seedlings under red light is small.
Red light induced callus induction and growth of lily and mung bean better than self-light. If you can consciously apply these LED plant light quality effects to the large-scale production of seedlings, you can achieve the purpose of energy saving and increase production.
Light intensity
Tissue culture LED plant light intensity has an important impact on cell proliferation and organ differentiation. From the current research situation, light intensity has a significant effect on cells and the initial division of cells. , The light is strong, the seedlings grow stout, and the light is weak, the seedlings grow easily. In plant tissue culture, external carbon sources are mainly used as energy sources, and light is mainly used to meet the needs of plant morphology.
The light intensity of LED plant light of 300~500lx can be guaranteed, but for most flowers, 2000~3000 1x is more suitable. In the rooting stage, in order to make the rooting seedlings grow strong and adapt to the field environment as soon as possible, it is necessary to appropriately increase the intensity of the LED plant light to 3000~5000lx, or even 10000lx. If a higher concentration of CO2 is added, the photosynthesis of the seedlings can be enhanced, forcing them to change from heterotrophic to autotrophic, so that the tissue cultured seedlings can grow more robustly.
In order to save costs, in the construction and design of the tissue culture room, you can consider making full use of daylight. "Rooms with better lighting are used as cultivation rooms, and rooms with poor or dark light are used as reagent rooms and cultivation rooms. Some people use greenhouses as cultivation rooms and have also achieved better cultivation results. Using natural light as a light source can reduce Cost of production.
At the same time, since natural light is generally stronger than fluorescent lamps, the cultivated seedlings are relatively short, although the plants grow under strong light. It is relatively slow and slightly green, but due to the accumulation of carbohydrates, the tissue is full and it is easy to adapt to the external environment, and the teleportation survival rate is high.
If it is only beneficial to natural light, it will be greatly affected by the weather. On the one hand, the number of layers and columns in the room and floor are not evenly exposed to light. On the other hand, in clear and cloudless weather, excessive sunlight can burn the seedlings and even die. It is necessary to use thin curtains for proper shading; but under continuous rainy conditions and insufficient light, the seedlings will be weak and long. Fluorescent lights must be installed on all cultivation racks. It needs to be flexibly adjusted to the prevailing weather conditions.
Light period
When the test-tube shoots are cultured in vitro, a certain light-dark cycle is used for tissue culture. The most commonly used time periods are 16 hours bright and 8 hours dark. Studies have shown that organs and tissues of varieties that are sensitive to short sunlight are prone to differentiation under short sunlight. Callus produced under long sunlight sometimes needs to be cultured in the dark, especially the callus of some plants is darker. Light.
Okay, like callus of safflower and black ash. For most plants, 14-16 hours of LED plant light illumination and 8-10 hours of darkness can meet the needs of growth and development. However, different plants and different cultivation purposes sometimes have certain differences. The 12h LED plant light cycle is suitable for chrysanthemum tuber seedlings. Geranium bulimia callus induces bud formation, 15-16h light produces the most buds. If 24h light, the callus cannot turn green and can not produce buds; under 16-18h light, morning glory stem meristem can grow The formation of small plant wipes does not require light all day; under 16h light and long-term darkness, the taro leaves are cut into leaves and seedlings.
In addition, the LED plant light cycle also has a significant impact on the formation and induction of flower buds. Some plants need dark culture during the callus induction period, and light during the differentiation bud stage, such as gladiolus; carnations need dark culture a few days before the cultivation, and then transfer to normal culture, which is conducive to the occurrence of callus; some photosensitive varieties Flower bud differentiation can be induced under light conditions and time.
Advantages of LED plant lights in tissue culture
1. It can be well used in tissue culture, and can be illuminated at close range to provide sufficient light to plants;
2. The wavelength can be customized, which can replace high-pressure sodium lamps, halogen lamps, and fluorescent lamps with 3-5 times the power, saving 80% of electric energy;
3. Long service life, up to 50,000 hours;
4. The ratio of lamp beads can be freely matched to meet the needs of different plants and different growth stages;
5. It can control the growth rate of plants and predict the maturity time of the market;
6. LED plant light is a kind of energy-saving, environmentally friendly and efficient plant growth light.
7. The heat emitted is much lower than traditional plant growth lamps.
8. No standard power socket connectors for drivers or cooling fans are required.
9. Promote early maturity of plants, increase production, and improve the quality of melons and fruits;
10. Ensure the taste of vegetables in greenhouses and realize off-season cultivation;
11. Inhibit the reproduction of germs and pests, and make it green without pollution.
An innovative cultivation method in tissue culture, LED plant lights are also the trend of indoor planting and supplementary light demand. With the continuous progress and development of technology, the two will definitely be perfectly combined to bring better results.
Rats, Squirrels, and Unlikely Friends
A quick oneshot in which Squirrel Girl travels to the DC universe and meets Ratcatcher II. Enjoy! :) @oh-its-jennyyy
Doreen knew she wasn’t supposed to be doing this. Stark Industries’ prototype wormhole generator was strictly off-limits to anyone but authorized staff, and that certainly did not include Doreen. She was a new hire, fresh out of college. She didn’t belong in top-secret labs, tampering with cutting-edge technology that could alter the fabric of space and time as we knew it. And yet, there she was, hacking into the “supposedly” un-hackable security system to check it out when no one was working on it. (She was slightly more skilled in the firewall breaching and data encryption area than her supervisors were aware.)
Every cell in her body screamed at her to stop. God, what was she thinking?! If anyone caught a glimpse of her doing this, she’d be fired on the spot. But whether it was her unending curiosity or her stubbornness to blame, she kept going. She just couldn’t help it; the whole concept of wormholes and interdimensional travel was so cool! She only wanted to see what the thing could do and how far they’d come... and hey, maybe if there were any areas for improvements that she could offer ideas on-
The device, a tall, silver arch, suddenly illuminated in a bright white haze, with its center forming some sort of black void. She must have somehow turned it on by accident.
“Ohhhh shit...” she grumbled.
Frantically scrambling around to find an off-switch, Doreen quickly realized that there wasn’t one. In fact, there were no buttons or cord connectors on the device at all. Was it motion activated? Voice activated? Maybe thermally activated from body heat?
There was no time to find out. Before she could move or do anything, she felt her body pulled into the void, and everything went dark.
                                                       …
It took Doreen a while to fully process her surroundings when she regained consciousness. A bright light, that she assumed was the sun – or, at least, a sun, given that she was in a new universe – was shining in her eyes, and she had to blink a few times for her vision to adjust. She could feel hard gravel pressing on her protesting back, which begged her to sit up. When she did, she came face-to-face with a young woman posed in a defensive stance, ready to strike.
Doreen took a moment to size up her potential assailant. The woman had a small stature, much like her, with short, dark hair, a dirty black coat, and, most bafflingly of all, a rat sitting on her shoulder, which didn’t seem to bother her in the slightest.
“Who are you?” the woman demanded. She certainly had a bit of an accent, although Doreen couldn’t quite place what it was. Not that it would really matter, though; countries could be entirely different in this world, assuming that this even was another Earth in the first place.
Well, at least people in this universe could still speak English. That would make communication easy.
“Umm...” Doreen got out. “Would you believe me if I said I was from another universe?”
Before the woman could respond, they both jumped when they heard loud squeaking behind them. Doreen was shocked to see her three faithful companions, Monkey Joe, Tippy-Toe, and Mr. Liebermann, bounding to her side.
“Wh-? What are you three doing here?! Did you follow me?” Tippy-Toe nodded and gave an enthusiastic chirp as Doreen stroked her back. “Oh, you silly squirrels... You know you’re not supposed to come to work with me...”
The dark-haired woman, much to Doreen’s surprise, was looking at her not with disgust or judgment, but instead wide-eyed wonder and fascination.
“Are these your... friends?”
“Huh? Oh! I guess it would be rude to skip introductions. These are my pet squirrels, Monkey Joe, Tippy-Toe, and Mr. Liebermann.” Doreen stuck out her hand. “I’m Doreen Green.”
Reaching her hand out as well, the dark-haired woman tentatively shook it, apparently having decided that Doreen wasn’t a threat. “Cleo Cazo. Nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you, too! So, um... yeah... I guess you’re... wondering where I came from?”
Cleo nodded.
“Well, so... the company I work for kind of built a wormhole generator that could transport people to alternate universes. And... I guess this place is one of them. Although, I actually wasn’t supposed to be messing with it. This was all a huge accident.” After a moment, she gave Cleo a sheepish grin. “I guess that must all be hard for you to believe, though...”
The rat on Cleo’s shoulder squeaked something into her ear, and she smiled. “No, it’s okay. Sebastian says you are telling the truth. He can sense that you are an honest and kind person!” The rat suddenly scurried to a patch of grass nearby to chew a dandelion off its stem and present it to Doreen. “Aww, look! He is offering you a flower as a token of his goodwill!”
Doreen giggled as she took the flower and put it in her hair. “Thank you, Sebastian! Would you like an almond?” Sebastian squeaked happily as she reached into her pocket and handed him his gift.
As Doreen stood up, Cleo was surprised to see a long, bushy tail extending from her backside. “Forgive me if this is a rude question, but... do all people in your universe have tails?”
“Oh, no. I’m actually the only one. I was born with altered DNA that made me part squirrel. They call me a mutant because of that. Do you have mutants here?”
Cleo shook her head. “I do not think so. I have heard of people born with altered DNA, but I have never heard the word ‘mutant’ used to describe them. Your powers are so cool, though! I wish I were part rat. But I don’t have any rat blood in me. I just communicate with them and tell them what to do.”
“That’s still pretty impressive! How do you do it?”
Cleo showed Doreen her rat-guiding light. “With this. My papa taught me how. He was the original Ratcatcher. When he passed away, I became his successor: Ratcatcher II.”
“That’s amazing!” Doreen smiled at Sebastian. “Do you mind if I pet him?”
“Not at all! Can I pet your squirrels?”
“Sure!”
The girls swapped rodents, with Cleo stroking Monkey Joe, Tippy-Toe, and Mr. Liebermann and Doreen scratching the head of a very happy Sebastian. After a moment of silent contemplation, Doreen spoke up again.
“I’ve never... met anybody like me. I mean... someone who talks to small rodents. It’s a really underrated ability!”
“I know, right? Everyone always thinks I am weird or gross.”
“You know, I never got why people hate rats so much. They’re so cute and fluffy! I mean, sure, they eat garbage, but it’s not their fault! They don’t have anything else to eat! What else are they supposed to do?”
“That’s what I keep saying!”
“So... are countries still the same in this universe? Is this the U.S.?”
“Yes, we have a United States. And a Portugal. That’s where I am from. Does your universe have a Portugal?”
“Yep! It sounds like we have all the same countries! That’s a relief.”
“But this is not American soil. We are in the Hispanic nation of Corto Maltese.”
“Oh... I guess it’s a good thing I ran into you, then, instead of the natives. I don’t speak a lick of Spanish.”
“Neither do I. I don’t live here.”
“Then what are you doing here?”
Cleo pointed to what looked like the ruins of a tall building off in the distance. “Cleaning up that. The ruins of Jotunheim.”
“Jotunheim? You mean, like, the place where frost giants live?”
“What are ‘frost giants?’”
“Oh... you... don’t have those here? I have a friend who’s a frost giant, so I thought that’s what you were talking about.”
“Jotunheim was once a research laboratory. They used a giant alien starfish to conduct experiments with the creature’s mind control abilities. Many people died in the process, and the American government was behind all of it.”
“That’s horrible!”
“The government sent me with a team to cover it up. But when the monster got loose, we destroyed it instead. Now, we have to clean up the damage in the city. It is not as glamorous as saving the world, but no job is too menial for the Suicide Squad.”
“The ‘Suicide Squad?’ That’s what you guys call yourselves? That’s a pretty bleak name. See, I’m part of a team called The Avengers. Now, that’s a much better name."
“Well, it’s only a nickname. Our official codename is Task Force X.”
“You know, why does the letter X always make everything sound, like, ten times cooler? Like, ‘Task Force Y’ or ‘Task Force W’ just wouldn’t sound right, would it?”
Cleo giggled. “I guess not.” She handed the squirrels back to Doreen as Sebastian happily bounded back to her side.
“Well, this has been a real treat, but I should probably get back now,” Doreen laughed. “I don’t want to get-” She froze as she looked behind her, realizing that there was no wormhole device. “Oh... I... I don’t know how to get back... Oh no, this is bad...”
Cleo put a hand on her shoulder before she could start to panic. “Don’t worry! I’m sure my friends can help you figure something out! Let’s get you back to my teammates.”
The two walked down several blocks, where a tall man with heavy-duty armor and a walking shark were waiting for them. Cleo grinned at Doreen.
“Is seeing a giant shark with legs strange in your world?”
“Well, I’m friends with a talking tree and racoon, so, not really, to be honest.”
The tall man gave Doreen a weird look. She wasn’t sure if it was because of her tail or her last rather bizarre-sounding remark. Maybe both.
“Who is this?” he asked.
Doreen cheerfully stuck out her hand. “My name’s Doreen Green, also known as Squirrel Girl! I’m from another universe!” She paused. “It’s kind of a long story. I also need help getting back home now.”
The tall man tentatively shook her hand. “Robert DuBois. Or Bloodsport. I guess we can get you down to the science people if you really want to come with us.”
Doreen took a moment to peer at him. “You know, it’s weird... You look just like this guy one of my friends used to know. Would you happen to be related to a guy called Heimdall at all? Guardian of Asgard? Watchman of the Gods? Is that ringing any bells?”
After staring blankly at her for a moment, Bloodsport turned to Cleo. “Is this girl on drugs?”
“Excuse me! I most certainly am not!” Doreen protested. “It’s strictly against company protocol to be under the influence of any substances during work hours! And I’m technically still working!”
The shark suddenly pointed at the squirrels. “Nom nom!”
Cleo sighed. “No, Nanaue, that’s not nom nom. Squirrels are friends. Just like rats.” She patted the shark’s back as he gave a dejected slump. “We’ll get you food when you get back.”
Out of nowhere, Doreen suddenly felt a tingling sensation in her body. Moving of their own will, her legs suddenly starting stumbling backwards. Her squirrels instantly jumped on her shoulder, ready to protect their human from any harm.
“Hey, where are you going?” Bloodsport called.
“I...” Doreen got out. “I think the device is pulling me back!”
“You’re leaving now?!” Cleo shouted.
“I can’t stop it!” Doreen grabbed onto Cleo’s hand in a last-ditch moment of desperation. “Cleo! Take good care of Sebastian! And don’t ever let anyone underestimate you! Trust me, I learned the hard way! People think we’re weak because they don’t understand us... But you’re stronger than you th-”
Before she could finish, she was gone.
                                                           …
Doreen collapsed on the ground, her heart racing at the familiar tile patterns. She knew this laboratory! She knew this building! She was back!
Her excitement quickly faded when she realized that return would mean consequences. Yep, she was definitely fired...
Except... there was still no one in the lab. No one had come back. Doreen checked the time. 2:15. She’d only been gone for 5 minutes! She looked around in awe at the silent room. All she would have to do now was sneak out. Had she really gotten away with it?
Slipping out the door and quietly returning to her workstation, she did her best to ignore her coworker’s questions about why she took a fairly lengthy bathroom break and whether she knew what they were supposed to be doing, instead giving them quick, uninvolved answers. Her mind was on Cleo and that strange, strange universe. It was so different, and yet... so similar to hers. The multiverse was certainly big and daunting, but no matter what people found in it in the future, no matter what research lied ahead, she knew it would always give her one source of comfort:
She’d found a friend that was just like her.
