One of university tasks was to create your own ex-libris. Of course I chose a taxidermy theme. It inspired me a bit to create small series of pictures dedicated to my job and passion.

Birthday Birdie
Stunning European bird mount I received for my birthday this year. This little fella is from the Netherlands, remember folks most North American birds are protected so if you're searching for bird taxidermy, I highly suggest getting European mounts.

I got an insect box and thought I'd put my bird skins in there.
So much gathered after years of collecting
I wish I could display more, I have to buy more insect boxes in the future.

This poor little eastern blue bird was suffering from brain damage after hitting a window and had to be euthanized
(Edit: I just wanted to say that he had already passed on when these where taken, I would never use an injured animal as a prop)
