Emily Axford’s PCs Ranked by How Likely They Are To Have Worn Crocs:

There was discussion on a recent short rest about which of Emily’s PCs are most likely to wear crocs, so I humbly present my findings:

1. Brenda Elizabeth: 100% canonical that she wears crocs. She is even wearing crocs in her canon artwork. God bless you Zac Oyama.

2. Tarragon Snakeroot: Also 100% canonical that she wears crocs, but the DM is being a little punk about it. Regardless of whether or not Murph thinks crocs exist in Eldermourne, if Emily says she’s wearing crocs, she’s wearing crocs.

3. Sophia Lee: A human living on present day earth. I’m certain she’s worn crocs around her place on Staten Island.

4. Chirp Featherfowl: Lives in the Feywild, but has a wife and child on present day earth. Has definitely tried on her wife’s crocs. Loves the novelty of them.

5. Ylfa Snorgelsson: Same voice as Brenda Elizabeth, so she’s already croc-coded. Plus, due to multiversal shenanigans, it’s almost guaranteed that there exists a version of her who’s worn crocs.

6. Onyx Lumiere: I don’t remember if crocs have been confirmed as canon in Trinyvale, but they definitely are. If Onyx didn’t already own a pair of pastel crocs, she’s surely looted a pair from someone she’s killed.

7. Fia Boginya: Crocs are not necessarily her style, but she lives in Eldermourne, so she’s had ample opportunity to wear them.

8. Brimstone Billy: Also, lives in Eldermourne, but I’m not sure if crocs have made their way to Endoterra yet.

9. Sundry Sidney: Technically exists in our future, but crocs are probably ancient relics in her time. Even if she could get her hands on a pair, she wouldn’t be able to get them on over her permanent roller skates.

10. Fig Faeth: I’m gonna say that crocs probably exist in Solace, but Fig was too preppy to wear them as a kid and is too punk to wear them now.

11. Moonshine Cybin: I’ll throw Murph a bone and say that crocs don’t exist in Bahumia, but if they did, I bet Moonshine would wear them. If a crick elf was gonna wear shoes, they’d probably wear crocs.

12. Calliope Petrichor: Again, no crocs in Bahumia, but even extra no crocs in the Feywild. Furthermore, they aren’t really the shoes of choice for either crime families or knights. No crocs for Calli.

13. Saccharina Frostwhip: Calorum is the setting least likely to contain crocs. It’s such a classic medieval fantasy world. That said, growing up poorer than the other PCs makes Saccharina the most likely A Crown of Candy character to have worn crocs.

14. Jet Rocks: By far the least likely Axford character to have worn crocs. Spent her short life growing up royal in a lavish castle with dreams of becoming a military commander in a world where crocs absolutely do not exist in the first place. Case closed.

You knew he was cheating on you. He had made it quite obvious. He always acted like the boyfriend of Sidney Prescott which he was. You couldn’t blame her she didn’t know that you were originally his partner.

You didn’t know how to tell her would she get mad? I bet she would, if she had knew he had slept with other women. You were definitely not over that.

You didn’t know if anyone would believe you. If the whole group would go against you then the whole school. Since many girls liked Billy and would probably believe anything that came out of his mouth.

So you didn’t say anything. For a little while Billy would taunt you in a way by bringing girls over at your place. Saying that you were nothing to him. Telling you that he only used you for your body (you never fucked) basically slut shaming you for sharing nude pictures of yourself.

You only sent him those because he had practically manipulated you into doing it. Saying how he’ll break up with you or it’ll make him sad if you don’t.

He also scared you back then. He had anger issues still has. But you were scared of him going into an anger outburst worrying that he would hurt you.

He would never in reality.

You could never understand him one day he would be all loving on you then the next go cheat on you. It also reminded you about the times you we’re together alone it was just silence with Billy ignoring you existence not even alone. When you were out in public at school he would act like you weren’t even there. In front of everyone. Even when you gave him a lot of attention. Fuck you had gave him small gifts you thought he’d like. You were there during his darkest time and this is want he fucking does. Of course you weren’t expecting anything of it but you wouldn’t think he would do this. Well you had enough, realizing that the relationship you were in was unhealthy and awful. you broke up with him. You had sadly wasted your life.

At first he could careless. You were nothing to him only something he could use for his own pleasure.

Soon he felt empty. He didn’t feel the same like he did with you. He tried his best to shake it off but he couldn’t. When he was with random girls or Sidney. He doesn’t feel anything. It doesn’t help that you stopped hanging out with the group. He couldn’t even see your face anymore. He didn’t know what came over him but he needed your affection. Once you left he felt like his whole world was gone. He never felt complete or comfortable. He knew you didn’t want to see him again. After everything he had done.

But his ego was stopping him from apologizing. So he tried his best to forget you. But he couldn’t. It didn’t help that he had some of your stuff those photos, the gifts that he dug up. Since he had carelessly thrown those to the side not caring about the thought you had put into them. He was just starting to realize that he undermined everything you had done for him. He missed it. It didn’t help that you we’re finding comfort in different friends. It made his made his blood boil when he saw you hanging out with other guys.

He didn’t care for the context he felt heart broken that you had moved on that easily. He wished that he could kill everyone one of those guys who dared to speak to you.

You felt more happier then you ever did. You questioned why you never broke up sooner. You felt more free. But you never would have thought the roles would be reversed.

It was soon Billy constantly calling you wanting to get back together. Leaving gifts in your locker. You didn’t know what could have gotten into him. Suddenly he was sweet with you. Was he just manipulating you? So he could do it all over again if you get back with him.

Billy is always cornering trying to get you to talk to him. You don’t say anything though but shove him away each time. He doesn’t get why you don’t want to be with him. He shown he’s sorry, and doing so much for you. Aren’t you able to forgive him a bit.

But he crossed the line a little. One day he hugged you from behind whispering sweet nothings to you in your ear. Venting his frustrations about you talking to other guys. Then telling you something you won’t forget.

“I won’t ever let you go”

**The Blue Castle is the most difficult to place in time. It is set several years before it was published, and in my own opinion: before Tangled Web and Pat of Silver Bush. Why? Because of this reference: "This was before the day of bobs and was regarded as a wild, unheard-of proceeding—unless you had typhoid." (The Blue Castle). Bobs were already "in fashion" at the beginning of Pat of Silver Bush (so, in 1919, when Pat was six years old: it was said that Winnie wanted to have her hair bobbed) and in Tangled Web (which is set in 1922). Yet, the cars, motorboats and movie theaters were a rather common occurence in The Blue Castle's times. But... there might be an explanation. Valancy doesn't live on PEI, which might have been a little "behind" the rest of Canada, as far as modern technology went. It is my own personal opinion, but I think that it might be set just before the war, at the same time as the end Emily's Quest. I know that the clothes seem more "modern" in TBC, but Emily wore "a little sport suit" and dress that was described as followed "there was so little of it". Teddy and Perry both had cars, as sone of Ilse's cousins. I would say that the Blue Castle book might be set around 1912-1913. Still, the timeline is extremely elusive. Please, let me know, dear Blue Castle Book Club's members, what is your opinion? I think I have read some amazing discussion about TBC's timeline a long time ago, but if I remember correctly, everyone was certain that this novel was set post WWI (me included, until this very moment when I tried to place Pat and Tangled Web and remembered the "bob" quote). So I choose 1912 as the beginning of TBC, when Valancy was twenty-nine.

"They were first cousins, who were born the same day and married the same day,--Donna to her own second cousin, Barry Dark, and Virginia to Edmond Powell--two weeks before they had left for Valcartier. Edmond Powell had died of pneumonia in the training camp, but Barry Dark had his crowded hour of glorious life somewhere in France." (Tangled Web).

"Virginia Powell, whose husband had been dead eight years and who was young and tolerably beautiful" (Tangled Web).

"Valcartier, Quebec was the primary training base for the First Canadian Contingent in 1914."

So, from this I assumed that Virginia's husband died in 1914 (so Tangled Web is set in 1922-23). Gay is 18 at the beginning, so she would be born in 1904. If Donna and Virginia were 18-20 when they got married, they would be 26-28 (so still "young"). at the beginning. Peter was 14 when Donna was 8, so he'd be 32-34 at the beginning of the book (same age or a bit older than Roger). Hugh was 35 at the beginning. I guess Joscelyn was a bit younger- most of LMM's heroines are at least two years younger than their love interest. I'd say she might have been 20-23 when she got married, so she'd be around 30-33 at the beginning of the book. I would say Brian is about six years old - he doesn't seem to attend school yet, but is big enough to be sent to the harbour. Margaret Penhallow was about fifty at the beginning of the book.

Summary: You finally put an end to this nightmare, and start a new life in New York, with a new 'hobby'. Part 1 || Part 2 || Part 3 || Part 4 || Part 5 || Part 6 || Part 7 Warnings: Ghostface stuff, deaths, blood, etc (English isn't my first language, I'm sorry if there are mistakes or if something doesn't make sense TvT)

You got pushed forward harshly, stumbling into Sidney's arms. Damian was laying on the floor, unconscious, next to the old couch.

How did he even get caught?

You tried to go to him to see if he was okay, but were interrupted by Ghostface.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you"

You looked up to him, watching in horror as he pointed Sidney's gun at Tara's head, and took a step back.

"Go fuck yourselves, assholes! Don't you know the fans never win?" Mindy spat

"First, we're not 'fans'" the Ghostface near you said "And second, you might want to choose your words more wisely, Mindy."

The other Ghostface, the one holing Tara, took off his mask. Her mask.

Blond hair fell on her shoulders, free from the restraining mask.

"Surprise, my love" she said, smirking at Mindy

"Lexi...? I thought you said she got killed!" the brunette said to Tara

"That's what I thought...!" your girlfriend defended herself

"Wait, if Lexi is Ghostface... who's the other one?" her sister asked

The other killer took off his mask, to reveal...

"Who the fuck is that?" Sam asked

No one answered, sharing confused looks, until you finally spoke.

"Ayla... she's a classmate of mine... we have a few classes in common"

"What did you do to make her want to kill you?"

"Nothing! We barely ever talked." you turned to face the killer "Why are you doing this...?"

"Oh, now you're interested in me?" she huffs "You really are a bunch of hypocrites"

You all looked at her, pure confusion on your faces.

"We've been in the same class for 4 years. And not once you paid attention to me. I bet you didn't even notice I was missing last year. But I'm getting carried away, that's not the reason I'm doing this."

"What's your motive then? Why did you even bring me here?" Sid asked "Let me guess, the movies made you do it?"

"These stupid movies? I couldn't care less about the movies! I'm taking my revenge on you all. For what you did to me."

"'For what we did to you'? We don't even know who you are!"

"That's the problem!" Ayla replied, anger rising in her voice

"What do you mean?"

"Last year, my mom's hometown lived a nightmare. We lived a nightmare. We got trapped in the mall, and some guys started to kill everyone. The Woodwork massacre? Rings a bell? Of course not. Because at the same time, you were being attacked. And who cares about a little town when there's another massacre in Woodsboro? No one! No one cared about what happened! Journalists were supposed to come and cover the events. Your mom was supposed to come and cover the events. But because of you all, the medias rushed here and forgot us."

"'Because of us'? Do you think we wanted this?!"

You got cut off by Ayla pressing her knife against your throat.

"I don't care what you wanted. My story was forgotten because of you. And I'm going to kill you all for that."

"And how do you this you'll get away with it?"

"We have the perfect scapegoat here, thanks to you, and your suspicions." she said, pointing Damian

"What does this have to do with you...?" Mindy suddenly asked the blonde

"Me? I'm just here for the adrenaline. We weren't working together at first; we had the same target, some cops, and killed them together. Then we talked, and I agreed to help her."

"You're fucking crazy... Both of you." you said

"Yeah? Whose fault is that, hm? You're the ones to blame for it." Ayla replied, a crazy smirk on her face "You'll tell that to your mom, hm? That, and how you couldn't save yourself, like you couldn't save her either."

When you understood that she was the one who killed your mom, you saw red.

You grabbed the girl's wrist with force, almost breaking the bone, and kicked her in the stomach, sending her a few meters away, her knife falling on the floor.

Lexi was too shocked by your move, and didn't see Sam coming and got punched hard, making her let go of Tara. But the blonde was quick to react, and tried to shoot Sam, who dodged. The bullet hit Mindy, who fell to the ground.

The blonde looked at Sam and ran after her. Tara tried to follow them, but Sidney intervened.

"Help your friend, I'll take care of your sister"

Tara hesitated a second, before nodding and looking at you.

"It's okay baby, I'll handle her and protect Damian. Take Mindy outside and try to bandage her up."

"But-"

"Please. I don't want you to get hurt..."

She was about to protest again, but finally gave in and went to Mindy. At the same moment, Ayla got up, rage visible on her face, and rushed to you, trying to punch you.

You dodged, and grabbed the nearest object - an old little table - and slammed it on her head.

"Go, quick!" you said to Tara, while the killer was on the floor, trying to get up

You gave a last look to Tara when Mindy and her walked past the door, before concentrating again.

A shiny object caught your attention, partially hidden under a cupboard. The knife she dropped earlier. Taking advantage of her confusion, you rushed to it.

The handle fit perfectly in your hand, as if it had been made for you. The knife wasn't too heavy nor too light, just the perfect weight to be used in the most efficient way.

You turned to face the girl, knife in hand.

"What are you going to do with that? Kill me?" she smirked "You wouldn't dare"

You took a step closer and grabbed her hair, forcing her to look at you.

"Wanna bet?" you asked before stabbing her in the stomach with force

The cry she let out as the blade sank in her flesh was so pathetic, so miserable, it almost made you smile.

"Did I hurt you?" you asked with innocent eyes

"Fuck you."

"Oh, no no no, that's not what we say"

You twisted the knife, causing blood to splatter on you and on the floor, exactly like when she attacked you. Except this time you were the one holding the knife.

"I said, 'did I hurt you?'. What do we say?"

She looked at you, teeth clenched, determined not to give you what you wanted. You rolled your eyes and twisted the knife again.

"What do we say?"

"Yes, you're hurting me! F-fuck..."

She was losing a lot of blood. You would have to be quick.

"See, it wasn't that hard."

You pulled the knife out of her stomach. More blood gushed out of the wound.

Your grip on her hair didn't loosen; it grew even stronger, as you pulled her towards the nearest wall and slammed her head against it.

"How does it feel, huh? Having your head slammed against a wall?" you sank the blade in her side "Sounds familiar?"

You pulled out the knife and stabbed her in the leg and in the arm. Her cries and whimpers were music to your ears. As you pulled her head back, ready to slam it against the wall again, you heard Tara's voice.

"Y/n?"

You turned around, covered in Ayla's blood.

"What are you doing...?"

"I just-"

"Yeah, Y/n, explain to her how you're trying to kill me and enjoying it" Ayla groaned, trying to free herself from your grip

"Shut your fucking mouth." you growled

"I know you're not like that, baby... You will regret it later..."

You slowly pull the blade out of the girl, a fistful of her hair still in hand, holding her in front of you.

"... Maybe I will... But..." you looked at your girlfriend, pain visible in your eyes "She killed my mom, so..."

You sank the blade in the girl's throat, not letting Tara react to what you just said.

"Who's dying alone now, huh?" you whispered with a slight smirk, pulling the knife out

Blood splattered on your face and clothes as your grip on her hair loosened, letting her fall to the ground. You looked at her, oh so pathetic now, helpless.

God it felt good to get your revenge done.

A year after these events, your little friend group had moved to New York, in hope to have a better life there. And it was working. Mindy, Damian, Tara and you started college like normal people. Not victims, not survivors, just new students.

It was comforting to know that all the Ghostface stuff was behind you.

This city gave you plenty of date ideas, and without the fear of getting attacked at every corner, Tara and you spent most of your time outside, visiting and having romantic little moments together.

But since that very night at Woodsboro, something in you had snapped. This thing had followed you here, leading you to start a new 'hobby'.

You couldn't tell anyone, they wouldn't understand. They would call you crazy, say you had lost your mind.

So, you kept it all a secret, hidden in a wooden box under your bed.

The first three months, everything when well. You were doing a great job keeping your activities a secret. Until that night.

As always, you had packed your bag and waited until Tara fell asleep to sneak out by your bedroom's window. You did what you had to do, and two hours later, you were back in your room.

Little did you know that Tara was awake, waiting for you. She was sitting on the bed, arms crossed, raising an eyebrow as she saw you climbing back in.

You didn't have any other choice and told her everything. And let's say that her reaction surprised you; she offered to join you in your nightlife.

You couldn't hide your shock, your jaw was on the floor. You had think about this moment so many times, and yet, she still managed to say something you hadn't think of. Evert time, she ended up leaving you, in your scenarios.

From this night on, you had a partner in crime. And you had to admit it; she was really good at that.

Two months after Tara joined you, on a 'break night' as you called it, you were cuddling on your bed, when Sam called your names. Hearing the tone of her voice, you quickly made your way to the living room.

"What's wrong?" Tara asked

"Remember the news saying that someone wearing a Ghostface costume had been spotted at night across the city?"

"Yeah, we all agreed it was some freak joking around. Why?"

Sam just pointed the tv, and you both looked at the screen. Someone had just been murdered, and according to the security cameras, the killer was wearing a Ghostface costume.

You turned to Tara, eyes filled with worry. You could say you were both thinking about the same thing, by the way she looked at you.

The bow under your bed hadn't been opened in a week, and none of you acted alone.

That could only mean one thing.

You were not the only Ghostfaces in New York.

having said all that about Bo . . . there is some redemption for him!! when he starts noticing you acting funny or a little down around him, he realizes it's his doing and he has a lot of guilt & regret about how he acted.

he'll get you a plainer looking doll, or get Vin's help to sew something up for ya. He leaves it on your side of the bed and doesn't say a word about it . . . neither should you. Be appreciative of what he did, just don't tell him that. He'll just pretend he had nothing to do with it, and get all flustered.

Bo might be kind of a dick to you about it, but if anyone that's NOT him does it?? if someone's passing by and they think they just get free range on the language they use?? oh, hell no!

he has a few tricks up his sleeves, I promise <3 (these may, or may not, include more torturous methods when dealing with guests . . .)

Lester thinks it's mighty sweet!! an' he ain't got much to judge, he knows he's a lil weird. he don't mind ur weirdness tho <33

randy loves doing little voice impressions, and my favorite concept is him playing around with ur stuffies and making them say silly things. or sometimes, since he's a bit of a romantic, but also awkward n nerdy he'd make them say things like "i love you" <3

Sidney Prescott

Tatum still has a ton of stuffies from when she was a kid, and some of her current faves are definitely ones that Stu have gotten for her

Sidney doesn't really sleep w/ any of her stuffies, but she does keep them out on her bed sometimes or on her dresser as like, decoration.

long story short -> she honestly gets it! sleeping with a stuffy is nice, and she wants you to sleep well <3 there is nothing wrong with ur stuffies <333

after the ghostface attacks!! she tends to be more closed off to other people, sort of weary, and isn't always good with contact/touch. the two of y'all's favorite way to sleep is in the same bed, next to each other, but cuddled up with ur comfort buddies instead of holding each other :'3

SCREAM 2 OPINIONS GO🔪🔪🔫🔫

Ok so I actually really like scream 2, I think it exists well within the spirit of what a scream movie should be in that it interacts with a horror sequel in the same way that Scream 1 interacts with slasher movies(and to be fair, other horror) generally.

Sidney is literally bored with Ghostface, and we see that in her first on screen appearance. It's a pretty simple scene but I think it does a good job of conveying some information about where Sid's at in life. Because now when she gets a call from ghostface it's nothing she hasn't dealt with before, she had caller I.D now. It's suggested that she's been getting prank calls from "ghostface" for a while now and she's over it. I like that for her. It's a nice evolution for a final girl, and the movie communicates it well in one scene.

She also has a cute little bob now so points for that. Very sapphic.

We also have the fact that the Woodsboro massacre has been commodified and is being made into a movie a mere 2 years after it happened. Gale is partly to blame for that but it still feels wild, especially because the tone of Stab isn't very serious, it's very much a blockbuster horror movie and not a crime-drama even though it's based on what is in universe a true crime case.

Director Wes Craven doesn't believe violence on film should be toned down and made comfortable for a general audience, so I kind of read the in-universe presence of the Stab franchise as Scream 2 making a comment on the way that real tragedies get re-packaged and sold as stories.

We also have Mickey and Nancy's kill list- it's a hollow replication of the murders in the first movie, and I don't mean that scream 2 does a bad job with them I mean that Mickey and Nancy kind of do. How do they pick their victims? Aside from the core group of people close to Sidney they're basically just random people with the right names.

Maureen Evans, Phil Stevens, and Casey "Cici" Cooper.

These victims have no personal connection to the killers or to Sidney for the most part, they're literally just there to be bodies. In contrast Billy and Stu had a personal, petty little kill list, all people that pissed them off or got in thier way somehow. Again, this feels like it fits in with the theme of commercialism, sequels bet on hitting the same notes as the original, but often fail to provide the same kind of motivation and backing.

(The only victim without that kind of connection in the original is Himbry and that’s explained by the fact that his death wasn’t in the original script, it was added in because executives thought the movie needed another kill since there’s so much space between the Casey and Steve murders and everything that happens at the party. So again, a product of commercialism.)

But I think the lack of connection Nancy and Mickey have with their victims is also commentary on the horror sequel, particularly with slasher movies where most of the cast died in the original. Sequels have a tendency to just throw a new cast at you without spending the same time and care developing them, they’re just designed to fit the same archetypes as the original (Mickey=Stu, Derek=Billy, Hallie=Tatum). Studios bank on the fact that you liked it the first time, so you’ll like it again if they check the same boxes.

Scream 2 doesn’t give us hollow copies though, and that’s what makes it a good movie, these replacements are designed for the most part as comments on the original. I think the best example here is Derek, who does actually fit the archetype Billy was pretending to be (popular, charismatic, outgoing) but he still doesn’t actually understand Sid or her trauma, which is where he parallels Billy the most. He just isnt trying to manipulate Sid like Billy was.

I also think the relationship between the killers works well with the theme of commercialism in sequels. The original killers are almost defined by their relationship to each other. Like, Stu does what he does purely out of his attachment to Billy. Billy and Nancy are both motivated by revenge and familial love, which is a theme through many of the other scream movies.

But Mickey isn’t motivated out of his attachment to Nancy, he has a financial motive. She’s literally bankrolling him, and he’s looking for fame. If we’re thinking cynically about horror sequels they are motivated by financial gain, relying on the success of the original to get people to buy in. Just like Mickey.

And in general the sequel just pushes so much over the top, with the first kill happening in the middle of the theater being perceived as a publicity stunt, to Randy being killed out in the open in broad daylight. It’s the classic sequel thing that all of the scream movies comment on- you need to raise the stakes.

Honestly there’s probably more I could say but I’ve already written an essay 🙃 yeah. I like scream 2. Good movie.

Skulker is on the higher end of dangerous ghost, but Skulker is more willing to work with Danny if the time calls for it

He'll move strangely in your body, not used to having a human body, he doesn't possess humans much

Danny will notice almost instantly, because you're walking funny and talking weird

It's harder to get him out of your body, but Danny will trick him into leaving your body and then Skulker will be made into a fool

She was probably running away from Danny when she went into your body

She's very intelligent and plays for a long time, until Danny slowly realizes that he's getting more depressed- The same feeling he gets when around

"Scarlet!"

She's surprised when he finally realizes, but isn't surprised

It's harder for him to get her out, but he's pissed

How dare she suck the emotion and feeling out of you?

She's going to regret ever thinking of being inside your body and devouring your soul

After this happens, he's way more violent with her

If it's Kitty

He probably knew she was going to possess you, because her thing is possessing humans, so he keeps you away from her and is always there to save you

But he can't always be around

Johnny probably was the one who helped Kitty posses you

Danny is annoyed with these lovers and is quick to get her out of your body

He has to figure out what you're wearing that belongs to Kitty

Once he figures it out, he's quick to get it off, but you fight him when realizing his plan [Well, not you- But Kitty]

She's not the most dangerous, but she does put off a fight

You tugged the tub of popcorn away as Mickey reached for it. He’d already pelted the screen with a handful of the kernels, and you were sure he would do it again. He gave you an exaggerated pout, and you compromised by hand-feeding him some of the buttery snack. He nipped your palm on purpose, causing you to let out a small yelp and wipe it on his shirt. You were glad the screening room was practically empty aside from you, Mickey, and maybe three or four other people. Most had already seen the movie, and this was a tiny, old cinema that you’d bet probably didn’t get many visitors anyway.

The movie was more than halfway through now, and Mickey hadn’t shut up since it started. You were used to it and mostly found it amusing, but you doubted other moviegoers would feel the same.

"It’s just so repetitive," he complained, thankfully not too loudly. "A stab to the chest or gut. Maybe a throat slash. There’s no innovation. Why not hang Casey or Himbry first and then cut them open? Let them see their own insides fall out. Better yet, why not hang them with their own intestines?” he suggested, making you gag. You coughed up a piece of popcorn and glared at him.

"Sorry," he snickered, patting you on the back. “Say what you want about the 80’s slashers like Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th, but there were almost never any boring kills."

"Yeah, but those are like super-powered demons and undead zombies,” You replied, eyes glued to the screen. "Ghostface is just some clumsy guy in a dumb mask," you added with a shrug. The arm around you tensed a bit, and his hand stopped twirling the ends of your hair absentmindedly. You glanced sideways at him, surprised to see the frown on his face.

"Ghostface is not just some guy," he said, his hand leaving your hair and resting sedately on your shoulder.

You chuckled as you turned back to the screen, seeing the girl in the garage pelt the killer with beer bottles. Mickey shook his head but smirked when you reached over to feed him more popcorn. "I would have thrown the knife right between her eyes. Maybe used a power saw or somethin'." he said around his mouthful.

"That’s a kill you don’t see everyday," you remarked, wincing a bit as the girl got crushed by the garage door.

"She practically did that to herself," Mickey said boredly. "I mean, who’s dumb enough to try to escape through a cat flap?"

"She was desperate," you defended. "This is based on a real story, you know. This really happened to that poor girl. And she was Sidney’s best friend." You frowned. "I can’t imagine how horrifying it must’ve been for her and Randy to go through this. And now they’re having to relive it all cause of this shitty movie. They’ll probably hate us if they find out we came here to watch it," you added guiltily.

"They won’t find out," Mickey assured, taking the tub from your hands and scraping up the last bit of popcorn before putting the container aside. His other hand played with your hair again and caressed your neck as if to soothe you.

He fell quiet for a bit, occasionally muttering about how stupid the killers were for stabbing each other. You nudged him lightly as you watched the big box TV fall over to crush one of the killers. "Okay, that one was good," you insisted.

"Yeah, but Sid did that," he argued, his face looking a bit impressed despite himself. "It doesn’t count."

"Well, the killers were just two stupid high school jerks after all. No doubt, you would have done a much finer job," you said with a slight posh accent, betraying your sarcasm.

"Oh definitely. Stab Two would be a way better film. Higher body count, bigger kills." He said cocksure, and you looked over at him again, noting the small grin as he said so. He leaned over, pulling you closer to purr into your ear. "No kiddie jump scares, but real tension. Toe-curling suspense," You shivered the tiniest bit as his lips tickled your ear and looked down as his other hand came to rest on your thigh, stroking it. "Fear and adrenaline to really get your heart pumping. Building higher and higher until you think you’re gonna pass out. And a whole lot of blood. The warm, gushing kind. Sweeter than corn syrup."

You blinked as the dim lights turned on overhead and stared at the scrolling credits on the screen. You hadn’t even noticed when the movie ended; you were too enthralled by Mickey’s low voice and the way his touch sent heat through your body. His hand was gone now, and he was making a show of stretching and yawning at the screen, as if he’d just woken up. You smiled kind of awkwardly, still a bit shaken by the almost gleeful expression he could hardly contain and the words he'd whispered to you. But the lights chased away the shadows on his face, making his eyes look brighter, and the odd grin, which had been almost intimidating before, became sweet and boyish.

He was just teasing you, and the movie had made your nerves act up. You stood from your seat, retrieving the popcorn tub and standing on your toes to tip it over his head. He made what sounded like a gasp and pulled the tub up to glare at you in mock outrage. You giggled and snaked an arm around his waist as you walked out of the theatre.

"It could have been better," you conceded, tossing the ticket stubs away.

Mickey smirked unseen.

I don't know if the NHL have totes given up on Sid as the Face of the NHL. He's not Mr. Charisma but he has more personality than McDavid does (and he's gotten looser as he's gotten older) plus he's better looking. And McDavid still doesn't have the name recognition that he has. For people who don't follow hockey closely, if you ask them to name an active player, any active player, I bet you'd get Crosby a lot more often than McDavid (you'd probably get more Ovechkin than McDavid, too).

For my money, if you want an American player with a great personality and great looks, c'mon. Chris Kreider is RIGHT THERE.

I understand where you are coming from, however, in today's world of sports marketing or just marketing in general, Crosby has a huge flaw of being completely absent from social media - the marketing team of the league can't sell "an invisible" guy like that no matter how much content they try to film with him during the pre-season because people want to follow the stars all season long, many of them discover the sport through randomly finding those big names in their social media feed, and they can't do that with Sidney.

I don't doubt that he would have been the most popular player social media-wise if he had social media because as you have said, everyone (who knows about the existence of ice hockey) knows Sidney Crosby, he has been establishing himself for a way longer than Connor, and Ovechkin with his following (which is the biggest out of all hockey players) is kinda hinting how big of a number Sidney could have achieved as they are the same generation of players, but he, unfortunately, doesn't have a social media presence and that's his fatal flaw in this aspect.

No offense to Chris Kreider, but he frankly doesn't seem like the most marketable American to me either.

Looking at this through the Formula One lense because that sport has an impeccable marketing game, from which many could learn, you will rinse big numbers from either having a successful veteran with a refined social media presence (read as Lewis Hamilton) or young attractive and genuinely talented guys who appeal to the younger audience (such as Lando Norris or Charles Leclerc) being the face of your sport, and since NHL doesn't really have any successful American veterans, whom I could imagine in the Hamilton shoes (really, Matthews or Tkachuk are the only Americans remotely close to that position and that remotely is one big ass remotely), they need to do the latter - young guys like Zegras or Jack Hughes, who can definitely bring in younger crowds.

I don’t think Hawkeye got more pessimistic or cynical wrt the war ending as the show/war went on.

Hawkeye says he’d make the same bet that the war was over in Ceasefire every time, and I think that holds true.

He tries to stop the war again in Peace on Us, he still goes on idealistic campaigns in the late seasons in episodes like Back Pay and Guerilla My Dreams and Blood and Guts etc, he tells his dad he’ll see him as soon as he can and he reassures BJ that they’ll all go home eventually in Period of Adjustmnt. And in GFA Hawkeye was eager for the war to end, not disbelieving. He leapt up upon hearing the announcement that both sides were preparing to sign an armistice agreement and demanded to go home since the war was virtually over. He also expected Sidney to send him home directly from the hospital and was surprised and betrayed when he didn’t.

I never get the sense that Hawkeye believes on any level including metaphorical that the war will never end or that he’ll be stuck there forever. He occasionally makes joking references to it lasting forever because the show pokes fun at itself for lasting longer than the Korean war, plus time flies when you’re having fun and when you’re stuck in a war zone time crawls so it’s an exaggeration of that, but he never loses that idealism, that knowledge that eventually this war will end and he’ll go home.

That said, I do think he got more cynical wrt losing his belief that he can do any good while he’s there. Like, that’s his thin ray of hope as depicted in Letters, and that’s what’s finally completely lost in GFA, imo. And alongside that I think you can see hints of it in the way his campaigns get less focused on achieving something after being burned so many times and more focused on just stating his mind, and even that falls by the wayside by the point of Say No More where it finally seems truly futile and he just silently walks away from the evil general du jour.

He never believes that he’s stuck in the war, and I don’t think that’s a relevant element to his story at all, but he stops believing there’s any silver lining to his time there.

“Oh come onnn, it’ll be fun I promise!” Sidney said as she dragged you along the campus. “What’ll be fun?” You heard a familiar voice. You turned to see Derek hugging Sidney from behind smiling cheekily. “Well I was just trying to see if y/n wanted to come with us maybe on a double date..” she smiled at Derek hoping that he’d say yes. “Well who would I go with hm?” There was silence in the air besides the students bustling to there classes. “Exactly no one!” You looked at them. “I mean I have no problem with that” Derek said. “Oh cmon are you serious you have to side with Sidney”, he just laughed. “Hmm what about Mickey? I’ve seen him eying you!” she spoke up looking at you with a sly grin. “I’ll think about it… I’m not sure if I like him like that.” You walked away clutching your books in your arms trying not to think about the possibility of Mickey liking you. I mean he was very sweet and very funny , two things you liked in a partner. Maybe he did like you? Maybe he didn’t.. Why were you worried about it?

I woke up and got ready meeting Sid and Derek in the library. “Soooo any news from Mickey, with the double date and all?” Sid asked as I slid into one of the comfy chairs. I rolled my eyes. “Yes actually he asked if I wanted to go with him and I said I’d go…” I looked at the table kinda embarrassed. “Oh my god he totally liked you y/n!” She laughed in response. “Well im not so sure if I like him yet.. I mean it’s Mickey” I looked at them with a small frown. “Also I said he’d pick me up at 7, do y’all know where y’all wanna go?” I continued. “Yeah I’ll send you the address!” Sidney said.

I wore a red velvet dress and some small pumps and light makeup. I grabbed my purse and a light jacket, and walked out the door. Mickey should be here any minute now. I opened the front doors of our dorms and walked outside. It was kinda weird knowing that Cotton Weary was out here and the Ghostface killer was still around, you’d think he’d die by now but nope still prowling. A few minutes passed as you checked your watch, soon enough Mickey rolled up in his car he got out the drivers side and opened your door. You smiled and thanked him as you slid inside. “Do you know where we are going or is it a surprise?” He smiled at you. You hummed a mhm and told him the address. You pulled into a old fashion diner. You got out the car and walked up to front inside hoping to see Sid and Derek, you spotted them sitting across from each other in a booth. You’d think they sat together but they didn’t, I bet they planned it. You said hello to them and sat by Sid while Mickey sat by Derek. A waitress came towards the table with her notepad and pen asking “Do y’all want anything sweeties” you looked at Mickey and he looked back at you then back at the waitress. “Can we get a basket of fries and 2 Millshakes!” he asked. Derek cut him off by “correcting him”. “Uh actually 4 Milkshakes, 2 different checks please”. You looked at Mickey. “Why the fries??” You laughed. Mickey looked at you like he’s been shot in the heart put to bf his hand over his chest. “Are you telling me you’ve never had fries and milkshakes before” he looked at you with a shocked face, you next response would probably have him in a coma. “No… I have not” you looked at him kinda shyly. “Welp im about to change your life Miss L/N” he looked at you with a intense passion. You started blushing a little bit hoping non of them would notice. “Ew guys stop flirting” you heard Sid say. Now you probably looked like a tomato and you started protesting that you and Mickey weren’t, yall wre just talking like normal people. The waitress came back soon after delivering the food to the table, you watched Mickey dip a fry into his milkshake and eat it with satisfaction. “You want to try it?” You nodded. You picked up a fry and dipped it in your own milkshake, you were weary at first and then put it in your mouth. It was actually quite good. “That’s actually really good!” You smiled at him. “Look what I can do” he gave you a sly grin and picked up a cherry from his shake and put it in his mouth. He took the stem off and started moving it in his mouth, “Hold on” he put his finger up and opened his mouth revealing that the cherry stem was tied in a knot. “Wow that’s pretty impressive” he laughed. “I know I’m just that cool!” all you could do was look at him with a smirk on your face. The rest of the night was just everyone passing laughes,telling jokes. updating their lives and feeling comfortable around another. We were departing as we got up to leave the diner. You and Mickey walked back to his car in silence driving out for he parking lot on the way home. You didn’t mind but you wondered what he was thinking. He stopped the car right infront of your wing of the dorms before he came around the car to open the door for you. “Thank you” you smiled at him. “Your welcome, I had a great time tonight thank you for coming” he looked at you shyly before rubbing his neck. “Of course you are quite the gentleman” you swayed back in forth as you looked at him. “I try to be, we’ll I’ll leave you too it goodnight y/n” he walked around the car to the drivers side. “Goodnight lover boy” you smirked as you walked back to your dorm.
