You could read Draco’s emotions like the palm of your hand; it was one of the perks of knowing him since before you could even walk. Others always viewed Draco as cold and icy, but you knew it was all just a facade to please his father. 

Draco was your soulmate, not romantically, but platonically. Some would call you twin flames. He knew all your deepest secrets, and you his. These were often shared in your ‘hiding space’ in Draco’s family’s back garden because it was the one space neither Lucius or your father would go to look for either of you. 

When you were both eleven, Draco has fallen down the back steps of Malfoy manor, harshly scraping his knees and tearing the new trousers his parents had just gotten him. Tears welled in his eyes as he anxiously spoke of how disappointed his father would be in him and how he would call him weak. You had calmed him down with a tight hug, something he grew used to with you, before using your wand to heal his cuts and mend his trousers. 

When you had gotten your first heartbreak in year two, Draco held on to you in the Slytherin common room while you sobbed, sending Mattheo and Theo off to deal with the tosser that had broken you to pieces. He hated seeing you so emotionally destroyed, fuming as he rubbed soothing circles on your back before you fell asleep in his arms after finished crying. 

The two of you were always there for each other, no matter how big or little the circumstance. So when he walked into the common room with sunken eyes and slouching shoulders, you knew immediately something was wrong. 

He had come to join the others where they were seated. Giving small nods to those that acknowledged his presence. When he finally met eyes with you, your eyebrows were knitted. He did his best to keep his face stoic, but still you looked quickly to the hall leading toward the dorm before raising your eyebrows, indicating to Draco to meet you in his dorm. 

There was no point in refusing or fighting it, Draco knew this. If he were to try and avoid talking to you he’d likely find himself in a binding spell and being levitated to where you desired much like in year three when he tried to act like ‘one of the lads’. 

So that was why he found himself immediately following you down the hall, head hung low and hands in his pockets. When you reached his door you held it open, ushering him in first before you closed it, placing a locking charm on it for privacy. 

Draco stood in the middle of the room, still in the same position. You walked over to his bed, toeing off your shoes and climbing up on the four poster and laying down, head on the pillows. You opened your arms wide and spread your legs so you looked kind of like a starfish. 

“Dray,” you called his name, causing his head to look up in your general direction. When he saw your position he immediately walked over, shedding his jacket and kicking off his shoes before climbing up. He crawled in between your legs until his head was even with your sternum. 

He slowly let his body weight fall on top of you, wrapping his arms around your waist. You ran your fingers through his hair, lightly scratching his scalp before running your hand down his back as far as you can reach and back, rubbing his shoulders absentmindedly as well. 

You could feel him physically relax on top of you and after a few moments you decided to finally ask him the cause of his stress. “Wanna tell me what’s got you in such a sour mood?” your tone was slightly teasing, wanting to keep the ease that you were developing. 

“I always appear in a sour mood, darling. That’s just my face,” you smiled at his cheeky response, glad that he was feeling at least a little bit better to make a joke. You gave his scalp another quick scratch, silently indicating for him to keep talking and tell you the real reason he appeared so grumpy. 

 With a deep sigh, Draco started to explain to you what was going on, “It’s my father. I know I should be used to the amount of pressure he puts on me for everything, but with everything in our world getting more intense, I think he’s getting reprimanded more and taking it out on me. Mom tries to help, tries to tell me not to take it personally but you’ve heard how he talks to me.” 

He wrapped his arms around you tighter and you wrapped your arms lightly around his shoulders, holding him closer to your body. “You are so much more than what he tries to say about you, Dray. You are so smart, smarter than I’ll ever really tell you,” you teased, earning a small chuckle from Draco, “you’re also incredibly loyal, very cunning and sometimes even funnier than Theo, but don’t tell him I said that.” 

“I’m definitely going to tell him you said that,” Draco turned his head, chin resting on your stomach as his face formed a smirk. You pinched his cheek as you giggled at him causing him to tickle your side. You squirmed under him and he popped himself up on his knees, using both hands now to tickle up and down your sides. 

“D-Draco, stop,” you giggled, “can’t breathe.” He sat back on his hunches as you pushed yourself up to a sitting position, “You’re the absolute worst Draco Malfoy.” The smile on your face didn’t match up with your teasing words. 

“Interesting, that’s not what you were saying a moment ago. You were basically the president of the Draco Malfoy fan club,” his teasing smirk only made you smile wider. You slyly placed your hand behind you, grabbing hold of the edge of his pillow. Draco continued to speak, only to be cut off by you swinging the pillow and hitting his shoulder. 

“Oh, darling, big mistake,” Draco reached over your shoulder grabbing the other pillow to get his revenge. But you didn’t care, you were just happy to see the smile back on his face.

Ron flinched when the Floo turned green and Harry came through, knocking all of Hermione’s papers on the ground, making the room a mess. He was looking at his best friends cursing in his breath, pulling out his wand to clean the ground and raised his eyebrow. 

“Merlin, Harry! Hermione will you for this!” 

“Sorry, I was coming home from my date with Draco. You know, from the firework festival in Japan. The one Draco was always talking about. Did you know there was a wizard that can do magic with katanas? Like instead of casting spells with wands, they could cast spells through their weapons.”

“Harry, stop! You’re not making any sense! Why are you here? It’s not to talk about the fireworks, right?”

Ron looked at Harry, who had the brightest smile he had ever seen on his face. He looked at his best friend, confused, before he noticed that Harry had extended his hand toward him. And then he saw it. The bright black and silver ring around his finger.

“HERMIONE!!!” Ron shouted, not knowing what to do with such big news before pulling Harry into a hug as they both laughed at the reaction.

Draco Black

Chapter 2 : Denial

There was a long moment of silence, no one understood what had just happened. Seeing the face of the great Draco Malfoy, usually cold, closed and petty, decompose while reading these two letters had shocked everyone. For the blond man to come to this, there must have been some really bad news and it worried all the students and teachers without exception, even unconsciously. Grabbe and Goyle stood up, ready to follow them, but they were stopped by Theodore who signaled them to sit down.

"- But!… began one of the two.

-No buts! Blaise and Pansy are gone, there's no need for more people. Or you'll choke it out!" Replied Theo coldly, knowing his friend by heart.

Shock and worry had also taken Harry, he had watched Draco the whole time. He had seen his sigh when he received the two letters, then his eyebrow raised, certainly of curiosity, when he saw the source of the mail. The dark-haired man had noticed some time ago that, despite the mask of coldness that the Malfoy's forced themselves to wear, the blond was actually very easy to decipher, having plenty of facial tics and mimics that Harry had learned to recognize with time. Afterwards, the Gryffindor had not been able to take his eyes off the Slytherin's face, he had felt as if he was experiencing emotions with him without even knowing why, it had squeezed his heart.

"- Harry? Are you listening to us? Hermione asked, shaking her hand at the dark-haired boy.

-Are you? No, sorry, what were you saying?

-We were talking about Malfoy! Did you see what just happened? Neville replied and questioned in his discordant voice.

-I was just thinking about that, his reaction was like… surreal?" Harry explained, looking away at the last word.

The group of friends continued to debrief on what had just happened while on the professors' side, Severus - who had returned to Hogwarts the day before, still filled with remorse - had been watching Draco the whole time as well, hardly hiding his guilt. He had lowered his head slightly as he saw the blond man speeding away. The dark-haired man, too, eventually got up, preparing to leave, wanting to be alone.

"Severus? Where are you going? The Headmistress of the Gryffindors suddenly asked, cutting Snape off.

-To my chambers, I'm not hungry anymore." He replied in his usual cold tone before actually leaving the Great Hall this time. Leaving behind him a table of completely lost teachers.

On Draco's side, he had run again and again, without really knowing where to go, he just wanted to go as far as possible. He ended up taking refuge in the girls' bathroom, completely exhausted, short of breath, collapsing to the ground before really bursting into tears like a baby whose toy has been confiscated.

Pansy and Blaise arrived a few seconds after him, they immediately knelt down at his side and Pansy had the reflex to take him in her arms when she saw him in tears. Blaise, on the other hand, rubbed his back, not knowing at all how to react in cases like this.

"- Dude… What the hell is going on?

-The… The letters…" Struggled to answer Draco, as a lump in his throat made it hard for him to speak.

The brunette and the swarthy man looked at each other before opening the letters that Blaise had thought to bring with them. They read silently, their faces breaking down as their eyes roamed the sheets.

"- Oh by Salazar's beard…. Draco… We're sorry… Pansy began softly as she came to take him in her arms again.

-It's not possible… They made a mistake! It's not true… Draco almost begged, not having the strength to lift his head to look his friends in the eye.

-Man…" Blaise began weakly, still not knowing how to react. He preferred not to say anything, avoiding saying anything stupid, before rubbing her hair and back.

It took more than an hour for Draco to calm down, but he was at the end of his strength, his best friends helped him to get up and go to his bed in the Slytherin dormitory, so he could rest a little. Blaise stayed by his side to watch over him and be there for him if he needed anything, risking getting into trouble for skipping class. Pansy went there to warn the teachers of the blond's condition and the fact that he could not be present and that she was taking all the classes for him.

Harry was surprised and strangely saddened to see that for the first class together with the green and silver, Pansy arrived without Malfoy or Zabini. He was also surprised to hear her tell the professor about Draco's current condition. She had never been very discreet, she spoke quite loudly, without even really wanting to sometimes. It wasn't necessary to have an overdeveloped sense of hearing to hear and understand what the Slytherin was saying. Murmurs then quickly filled the classroom, murmurs that were quickly silenced by the cold and authoritative voice of the Potions teacher.

"-Shut up! I'll give a detention to the first person I hear talking about this story again. Or even the first one I simply hear talking again for that matter."

There was immediate silence in the room. Snape watched each student with his usual dark, disgusted look that he used when he wanted to instill fear, but this time the look was stronger, deeper. This had the effect of freezing the spine of all the students, whether they were from Gryffindor or Slytherin. The dark-haired man let out a dismayed sigh before turning to the dark-haired girl from his house.

"- I see Miss Parkinson. Go to your seat now. And I'll take you, next time, to try to control your voice a little for heaven's sake."

This remark had the effect of making Pansy blush, and she lowered her head before going to her seat as the teacher had asked. The class began in a very strange atmosphere for everyone.

On Draco's side, he was buried under his thick hammer, tears in his eyes, but they were empty, staring at an invisible point in his room. Blaise had gone to get him a glass of water in the bathroom next door. The words written on these crumpled pieces of paper still haunted the blond, he had a movement of withdrawal on himself, as if it was more possible.

Then something clicked in him, he frowned while remembering a detail. He got up excessively slowly before catching the two mails placed on his coffee table. He unfolded them and let his eyes wander over them.

Blaise arrived at this moment in the common room, the glass of water in his hand. His heart clenched as he saw his best friend rereading those letters.

"-Dude… I'm not sure this is a good idea… You should put them down… He began in a soft voice.

-There's something wrong…

-What do you mean?"

The silence seemed to be an eternity for the swarthy, waiting for the answer of the blond. After several long seconds, the latter finally lowered the letters, revealing his lost and perplexed face.

"- The cause of death is not the same…"

at first he didn't understand what was happening, but when he saw him placing his ugly and dirty hands on your thigh while laughing way too hard at, what he assumed was, your joke, and saw how he looked at you, something clicked in his head.

harrys' first instinct was to rush towards you and that boy, push him out of the way and grab ahold of your arm and bringing you some place else. anywhere but there.

he trusted his instinct and did so. hermione attempted to grab his arm to sit him back down but failed. ron cheered his bestfriend on but stopped when hermione shot him a look.

harry rushed there, like speed walked over there. your friend group, you and the boy all whipped towards a very obvious angry harry.

you smiled brightly when you saw your boyfriend but it faltered when you noticed how.. tense and mad he looked.

he pushed the ravenclaw boys' arm away to which he recoiled and gawped at him.

"what do you think you're doing, potter?" he sounded very offended and honestly, harry could care less.

harry didn't respond straight away, rather, looking between him and you. but every time he stared at you and saw how worried you looked he eased a bit. just a bit.

"you. stay away from them." harry stated bitterly before wrapping his arm around your waist and ushering you someplace else with you waving goodbye to your friends with a sheepish smile.

throughout the whole year, the ENTIRE years of staying at hogwarts he will hold a grudge against him. no buts and ifs.

he does not appreciate it when someone flirts with somebody who they know is taken. know is the keyword.

harry is used to getting attention, he has gotten publicity ever since the word of him surviving the dark lord spread like wildfire.

but he still has insecurities, like everybody. sometimes he feel that he is a burden to you, all the hate and constant questioning and invasion of privacy you're getting all because of him.

when he sees him flirting with you he can't help but feel his heart burn and ache in pain. maybe you're better off without him.

but all his worries and negative thoughts fade away as soon as your hand gently and tenderly cups his cheek, as soon as you reassure and tell him that you only love him—his worries? gone. his doubts? where?

and you understand him, so he's more than happy when you allow him to keep an eye out for you (he always did but oh shush)

harry always tried to show off his skills, ever since he laid eyes on you. and this didn't change at all when you two got together and it didn't change when that boy flirted with you

it instead, fueled his need to show off, only for you though

whether it be doing flips and tricks on his firebolt, letting you go on it while he rode it, letting you see new spells he learnt from his teachers (pretend you aren't surprised) and so on.

he shows you all the secret passage ways to go into hogsmeade and sneaks you in with the both of you two under his invisibility cloak.

he just wants to let you know that he loves you so much more than that git.

he will try to hide his red and annoyed face when you both lock eyes, making excuse that he was simply hot when it was literally snowing.

he acts like it's nothing, he hides his feelings from you, he really doesn't want to but sometimes people just don't know what to do with their feelings

it may lead to him breaking down in front of you. pull him into a hug, let him rest his head on your chest as you soothe his hair and reassure him.

he clenches his jaw when he sees some random guy from slytherin come up to you as you're studying with your friends and just.. stand there, next to you

he hasn't done anything yet but ron knows better. harry notices how tense and agitated his bestfriend is and follows his eyes and that's when he saw a guy from slytherin talking to you, staring down at you in awe .

oh, oh. harry knows what's up now. he nudges hermione who was writing down notes from their previous lesson. she looks annoyed at first but after looking at ron before looking at you, she understands what's happening and smirks.

"ron, don't you think you should grab y/n now? you wouldn't want him to snatch them up do you, now?"

he only grunts in response and grumbles angrily before (after harry cheered him on with a grin) standing up and stomping towards you, well, more like the boy really.

"oooh, well look who it is! a weasley! what? are you here to.." his voice trails off as he makes eye contact with you. you're giving him a stern, mother look.

he bites back his words and glares at ron. "why- i can't talk about him now?" "shut it, go away, i want to be with my boyfriend now."

you can hear him mumbling something along the lines of "i can't believe this!" and "dating a weasley? they're mad!"

while the boy is walking away you could see ron smiling proudly. "yeah that's right, im her boyfriend, skedaddle you git"

ron gets jealous very easily, and often.

all the constant teasing whenever he's around you, all the snickers he gets when he walks by with your arms looped with you as you two stroll through hogsmeade, make his head swarm with insecurities.

but naturally, it goes away when you state that you already have a boyfriend and point at him or when you straight out say that you're proud that he's your boyfriend, poor or not.

it makes him proud. he pulled someone like you, so good looking, kind and not afraid to let everybody know that you two are together.

his heart thumps against his chest when he hears your words and it instantly reassures him, a proud smile spreads across his face as he pulls you into a hug, not caring about the stares that your friends are giving him.

ever since getting together he has felt insecure, his status and looks.

sometimes he doubts himself, how could someone like you, ever like someone like him? poor, either average or not-so-good grades and... poor..

while you two are walking through the hall (hip to hip) and he *can just* sense that there's a person right behind you who has their eye on you, he slowly turns his head around but not enough for you to notice and just side eyes them like damn

𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗷𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲'𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹! he has quite an ego but not an abnormally large one. he knows he's not ugly and never doubts himself.

(and he makes sure that you aren't doubting yourself!!)

so he never gets reaaally jealous or doubts himself when he sees someone eyeing you suspiciously.

he can control his temper but sometimes he lets some actions slip. for example: clenching his jaws and eyeing the soon-to-be-hexed-victim and not taking his eyes off of them.

and when his temper goes off the radar? now you've gone done it.

cedric is pretty popular in hogwarts so that mean that everybody knows that you're his lover (unless you or he wants to keep it a secret but why would he?? he would be proud to have someone like you!)

but when cedric does get jealous... it's not so bad actually!!! he's never that jealous. well not jealous to the point where he despises them for his whole life and give them death glares, good god, never.

but when he sees a guy that he doesn't really like talking to you and leans too close to you, it pulls on his heartstrings and he hates it.

when he asks you for help in potions class cedric butts in and offers to help him instead of you, and you don't miss the pout on his face as he turns away.

he tries to show off his skills in quidditch to which you only smile at before cedric shows up and proceeds to just make the guy look like he was a joke.

and everybody including cedric and you notices how red and angry he looks like.. calm down

𝗵𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁, 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼 𝗼𝗻. for the other boys it may take them forever to talk to you about it, but cedric? only takes about a day or so, depending on how much the boy is bothering you.

when you're away from the pestering boy and your friends he pulls you aside and talks to you about what he thinks about the guy and how he's feeling.

you understand his words and nod along, agreeing with what he said. "i'll keep your words in mind, if it makes you more comfortable i could maybe talk to him about it? maybe ignore him?"

cedric is more than happy when you do ignore him/talk to him about it.

and at the end of the day and from that very day he walks by you and cedric with a scowl and a red face.

𝗝𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀, 𝗷𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀, 𝗷𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝘆

𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘁��𝗲𝗿𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. regulus always had to give everybody death stares, even if it wasn't intentional. but to you? his gaze softens, his face seems to rest, his body relaxes and his heart starts to beat fast.

so there is, without a doubt that he will give everybody death stares and dirties except you.

and it didn't change when you two got into a relationship.. like at all... so when he sees somebody stare at you for too long (over 8 seconds) he walks over to you, passing the person and giving the most death glariest of them all.

and of course they turn their head around and pretend to focus on their work.

"mm oh yes.. this and that..." and then they stop muttering once they feel that regulus is away but when they turn to look at you once more they see regulus sitting right beside you, and even though his head is turned to face you, with a soft smile on his face, they can see that regulus is glaring at them at the same time.

𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗔𝗫, the bar is FILLED.

before you two started to date he would always be within you vicinity, some may say that it was creepy or stalker behaviour but he really just didn't want you to be bullied by his fellow slytherin so called "friends"

and the first time he saw them bully you he immediately decided, right there and then, to ignore them for the rest of his life, never help them with their homework or even interact with them. not when they hurt and outright said many hurtful things to your face.

he would be sitting beside a large tree, pretending to do his work in his book while watching you like a hawk

and when regulus sees his ex-friends or somebody/a group of people walking up to you that he deems suspicious he's quick to mutter a jinx and watch the scene unfold

many people that were around that area burst out laughing from seeing someone with jelly-like legs, and best of all, you were laughing as well!!

so you can best believe that regulus will always be there for you, jinxing whoever dares to mess with you and making sure no teachers can do a counter-curse.

𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘁𝘆. just a little bit...

but he won't ignore you on purpose forever you know, he's not that mean and petty. but when he's feeling VERY jealous then he may just give you the cold shoulder, for 10 seconds aprox, or less.

he even uses his house as a threat.

"as you know.. my house is slytherin, and if you didn't know, most slytherins as the people say, are death eaters. so watch yourself now. come close to y/n and don't be surprised if the dark lord appears in your room."

It was winter break and you were staying at Hogwarts. A lot of your friends were staying at Hogwarts for break as well. You got a letter from your sister asking if your niece could come stay with you. You wrote back and replied with a yes.

Your niece was 4 years old. She was a little ball of fire, who always kept you on your toes. You truly loved your niece and cherished any time you spent together. So you were excited that she was coming to stay with you for a little bit.

Sixth year was equally exciting. It was like you were one of the oldest kids on the grounds, witch felt good. You had amazing friends and your classes were doable. It was hard to imagine next year was gonna be your last year at Hogwarts.

You and your friends decided to have a picnic by the black lake. Everyone in your friend group was there, which you were happy about. Some elves in the kitchen helped you out with the food, so you were very grateful.

"This is nice," you began.

"Yeah it is," Draco responded.

"Makes me want to jump in the black lake," Theo said through a mouthful of bread.

"You totally would," you teased.

"Listen, I have my niece coming to visit soon and I was wondering if you guys could help out, please," you begged.

"Yeah of course," Pansy agreed.

"I'm not good with kids," Theo put out.

"I'm sure your better than you think," you reassured.

"I'm really not," Theo argued.

"Well I still need you to be there for me," you deadpanned.

"Yes mam," Theo saluted.

Eventually your group finished up being around the black lake. Everyone packed up the picnic and carried on with their day. You stayed in the Slytherin common room reading a book by the fire.

Theo came strolling in, spying you curled up on the couch. It was in Theo's nature to bother you. He was always with you and always paling around with you. You were his best friend and he'd like to think he was yours.

"Hey Y/N/N, whatcha reading?" he asked.

You flipped up the book angling it to show him the cover then said, "Pride and Prejudice."

"What's it about?" Theo asked.

"The relationship of a boy and a girl as they try to overcome the titular sins of pride and prejudice in order to fall in love and marry."

"Sounds interesting," Theo stated.

"You're not gonna let me read are you?" you sighed.

"Well when you put it like that it sounds bad, but I just want to hang out with you," Theo smiled.

"Aw you're sweet," you cooed as you ruffled his hair. Theo swatted your hands away.

"What do you suggest we do?" you questioned as you shut your book, after bookmarking it.

"Well I haven't gotten that far yet, Um I don't know we could talk, take a walk, play a prank on Filch, maybe gossip?" Theo suggested.

"Ha ha ha," you laughed.

"You want to gossip?" You were surprised.

"I mean if you want to yeah," Theo shrugged.

"Well I just happen to know Draco asked out Astoria but she turned him down. And he was all like "I'm not taking no for an answer," but she said no. He told me he's not gonna give up though," you explained.

"I bet they will end up together, they would be good together," Theo replied.

"Oh my god no way really?" You put a hand over your mouth.

"Yep. She was pissed," Theo responded.

The three of you all chatted for a while, talking about the break. How excited you were to have time off from classes. The three of you were enjoying the break and being able to be carefree.

The next day you woke up early. Your niece was coming today. You were a little bit nervous and anxious to see how she would get along with your friends. She was adorable though so you knew your friends would love her.

You went to the gate to pick up your niece and she was already there waiting for you. You were excited because you haven't seen her in a long while. You quickly embraced her after you said hellos.

"I've missed you Evie," you greeted.

"Missed you too," Evie responded.

"Come on let's walk to the castle and you can tell me what you have been up too."

Evie told you about her days and how happy she was to be visiting you. She told you about her mom, your sister and she told you about her friends in preschool.

When you got back to the castle you wanted to introduce your friends to your niece. You wanted everything to go smoothly so you secretly prayed it would.

You assumed everyone was in the common room. You made your way to the Slytherin common room with your niece. When you arrived all your friends were sprawled out on the couches and by the fire.

They all looked at your direction when you entered.

"Hi guys. I want you to meet Evie. Evie this is everyone. Everyone this is Evie." You gestured to the group and to Evie.

"Hi Evie it's nice to meet you, I'm Pansy and that's Draco," Pansy spoke up.

Evie waved to both of them.

"Hi Im Blaise," Blaise greeted.

"Hi," Evie whispered.

"And this is Teddy," you introduced.

"Teddy? Hi Teddy!" Evie is exclaimed.

"Hi little one," Theo addressed.

Evie came over to Theo and looked at him curiously. Theo smiled at her. She then reached out her hand and then stopped.

"Can I touch your hair?" she asked.

"Um sure," Theo replied.

Evie touched Theo's hair and then she giggled.

"It's so fluffy!" She laughed.

Theo gave you a look that said "what do I do?" You laughed at his lack of being around children.

"Give her a high five"' you suggested.

Theo raised his hand and said, "High five!"

Evie grinned and slapped her hand on Theo's. Evie took a liking to Theo and you could tell fairly quickly. Evie was one of your favorite family members and you were glad she liked your friends.

"Do you want to take a walk with me?" Theo asked.

"Yeah!" Evie answered.

Pansy, Blaise and Draco decided to stay in the common room. You, Theo, and Evie decided to roam the castle grounds. Evie was a bundle of energy.

"Could I have a piggy back ride Teddy?" Evie asked.

Theo looked to you for approval which you granted.

"Yeah of course," he allowed.

Evie jumped on his back and threw her arms around his neck. Theo grabbed ahold of her legs and shifted her up a little bit.

"Giddy Up horsey!" Evie called out.

Theo laughed and started to run. Evie yelled "weeeeee!" You started to catch up with them happy that Evie was having so much fun. Theo stopped at the top of a grassy hill.

"Can we roll down the hill?" Evie questioned.

"I don't see why not," you shrugged.

"Teddy go first," Evie pushed Theo on the back, urging him to roll down the hill first.

"Ok ok ok I'm going," Theo rushed out.

Theo laid down and then turned around to begin rolling down the hill. You started laughing as he speeded down the hill.

"Your turn Auntie!" Evie insisted.

"Alright settle down I'm going I'm going," you responded.

You got down on the ground and rolled down the hill. You ended down by Theo's feet and he helped you up.

"Come on Evie, tumble on down," you called.

"You guys ready?" Evie asked.

"Yes!" You and Theo both answered.

Evie came tumbling down giggling and getting covered in grass. You applauded her when she reached the end of the hill. She was beaming. Theo also joined in and clapped for her. Evie took a bow.

Eventually you all went back to the castle chatting about anything and everything. Evie held your hand and Theo's hand as she walked in the middle of you guys.

When you guys returned back to the common room Evie was tired and wanted to take a nap. You were so excited that Theo and Evie were getting along you didn't notice that Evie fell asleep on Theo's lap.

"Are you ok?" You mouthed to Theo.

"Yeah she's fine right here," he whispered.

It made your heart melt at the sight. You were thankful for Theo's help today and hoped that Evie had fun today, you certainly did. You hoped the three of you could hang out more and more. You watched as Evie slept completely content resting on Theo.

Authors notes: I didn't expect to finish this until Saturday or Sunday but Suprise!

Part 1

Silence, that’s all you and your friends sat in after you confessed your feelings for a certain Slytherin. Hermione wasn’t surprised at your feelings just shocked you said it out loud and around Harry and Ron. The latter let out a gasp and told Harry to pinch him to make sure he wasn’t dreaming which he did and Ron responded with “I didn’t actually mean it!”

Harry just remained sat at the couch with a unreadable expression on his face but it slowly turned into a smile, just a small one which he hasn’t done a whole lot these days. Well at least Harry and Hermione was fine with it. You couldn’t tell with Ron at this point because he was just confused with all the information.

They all sat in a circle around you listening to what you told them about how Draco confronted you in the hall, and how you simply ran away from him.

Thankfully the common room was empty since everyone was either asleep or doing a potions essay. Shivering at the thought of the essay due in a couple of days that you haven’t started on.

“Well why didn’t you just tell him that you fancied him?” The weasley asked like it was the simplest thing in the world.

Harry shook his head at his bestfriends words while you and Hermione just rolled your eyes. Godric you loved Ron as a friend but he really couldn’t read a room for his life.

“Well Ronald if you must know he told me in Hogsmeade that he asked damn Pansy Parkinson to the Ball.”

That was news to your friends, this time it was Hermione’s turn to gasp at your words while Ron and Harry jaws had practically dropped to the floor.

They weren’t stupid by no means, it was obvious something happened with you and Draco but none of them would guess something like that could’ve done it.

“Let’s just talk about it tomorrow, yeah?”

The conversation did not continue into the next day, a week had pass and it was now the day of the Yule Ball. Obviously you avoided Draco, you could feel him staring at you in the Great hall, in classes, the hallways, everything.

He of course tried to talk to you but thankfully one of your friends were always by your side, one time even the Weasley twins stared him down to get him away from you.

Although you were thankful about your friends being protective, you wished that you could just take a stroll around the school without being followed.

As of now you were sitting in the common room with Harry and Ron, the two boys were talking about dates for the Yule ball while you were writing a letter to Narcissa Malfoy.

It seemed as though Draco didn’t inform her about you ignoring him, since his mother seemed very happy in her letter saying how she wants you to come over during the summer holiday for a week.

Narcissa was a very kind woman and a wonderful mother to her son even if he was a brat sometimes to people. She would be devastated if she found out Draco’s only true friend was purposely ignoring him about a stupid ball.

You decided to simply face Draco, standinf up from the floor just to be asked, “Y/N can you go to the ball with me, I’m only asking because I need one. Just as friends though.”

The boy who lived asked you to the Yule ball. As friends but still. You expected to be standing in the corner watching your friends dance with each other and Draco dancing with Pansy.

But now? Now you can go with one of your best friends and simply enjoy with others although it wouldn’t be as fun if you could dance with Draco. But not everything works out fine.

“Yeah Harry that’s fine.” You could tell by his shoulders going down some to signal that he was less stressed by the pressure of having to find a date, even if it was just a friend. Harry of course would’ve preferred to go with Cho Chang but just like you not everything works out fine.

Ron groaned in his hands, “Blimey i’m the only one that doesn’t have a date in the whole school ain’t I?”

Laughing at Ron’s words, even though he shot a deadly look at you. Harry just rolled his eyes at his friend and thanked you for going with him last minute.

Nodding at his gratitude before sitting back down to finish your homework. It was really last minute since the ball was tomorrow. Which meant Christmas was tomorrow.

Waking up to the sound of Lavender squealing about how it was Christmas and the Yule ball. Rolling your eyes at her voice.

Walking down to the common room to see your friends already sitting waiting for you. “Happy christmas.” You grumbled rubbing your eyes.

Opening up your presents, A couple muggle books for Hermione that she heard you talking about, Ron gave you a chess board claiming that “it can finally help you beat me.” Harry got you some new quills since you were running low on them.

Opening up one last gift you already knew who it was that gave it to you. He still cared enough to give you a Christmas gift. Unwrapping the small gift to see a small box which opened.

Opening it up to see a necklace with a small black swan it. Just like how he said his ornament was going to be. You hadn’t looked at the trees at all so you had no idea if he did stick to his end of the deal, you did though.

Putting the necklace on and it felt right at home like it’s been there ever since you were born. Maybe you should try to talk to Draco tonight at the ball.

Hermione pulled you up to the dorm to get ready for the ball. Although you weren’t all that nervous but Hermione was rambling about how she hopes she doesn’t embarrass herself in front of Viktor and everyone during the opening dance of the champions.

Now your stomach was doing flips, you completely forgot about having to dance with Harry in front of everybody. You weren’t nervous about dancing with him, just hoping that you wouldn’t end up tripping and falling in front of everyone.

You assured Hermione that everything would be fine with Viktor and how great they would be tonight together.

Doing the last finishing touches on yourself, your hair was now done, along with your makeup. Hermione left just a few minutes ago. Realizing that you were running out of time and quickly put on your dress.

Harry told you that he was wearing simple black robes so the color of your dress didn’t have to match with his thankfully. You had chosen a simple long green dress. Making sure that you still wore your necklace you received this morning.

Walking out of the Gryffindor common room and down the steps to where mostly everyone was waiting to go. The hall erupted into whispers with everyone gasping and pointing up at you.

You saw Harry standing with the other champions by the doors which were starting to open. You locked eyes with a pair of grey ones. Bloody hell did Draco look nice tonight.

Putting on a normal face while walking by him. Feeling him pull your arm towards him and him leaning down to whisper in your ear. “You should’ve been here tonight with me. Not potter, not that damn Steven Bottom either.” He whispered with no remorse in his voice. It was all in a demanding type of way.

Swallowing nothing in your mouth before walking away and up to Harry. You could feel the blood rush up to your face. “What did Malfoy want?”

“I’ll um tell you later.”

Nodding at your response. After a short while everyone was in the great hall and it was time for the Champions to come in.

Now you were on the dance floor with Harry and the other Champions. Looking over at Hermione to see her smiling at Viktor. You saw Ron standing next to Padma looking like he would rather get bit by Sirius in his dog form again.

You felt someone staring holes into the back of your head. You didn’t even need to turn around to know that it was a Malfoy.

The music started playing, you and Harry started dancing together. It was just two friends dancing together. The opening dance didn’t take long thankfully and Harry excused himself to talk to Ron.

Nodding at him while deciding to go talk to a few of your other friends. Stopping by Fred, George and Angelina to talk with them.

Walking over to the trees which were decorated. You were informed that the professors decided what was the best ornaments and they would be hung up. Right dead in the center of the biggest tree was a Black swan right next to a White one.

So he did stick to his end of the deal. Smiling softly at the thought of Draco. Interrupting your thoughts was a cough next to you. It was Draco you recognized it immediately, since it was his fake one which he used to get your attention in class.

I’ve fancied you since second year and I have no clue why I haven’t done anything about it.” Taking a deep breath at his words before going on, “It made me feel some type of way when you said Bottom was practically asking you to this and when I saw you with damn Potter. It just wasn’t right. You should be my date right now.”

Letting out a weak no to his question before he leaned down and connected your lips with his. It was pure bliss, nothing you’ve ever felt before with a person.

Breaking the kiss between you two, the slytherin stood up straight.
