random TEG funfact
for a very long time I had planned for Rodimus & Soundwave to have an "I can't lose you" moment centered around Trailbreaker getting seriously injured in an accident. The scene is written and intensely emotional, and I still really like it. I wish I could've cannibalized it.
But after I started getting Trailbreaker's backstory down, I felt bad for him. He had already been through enough. He, an innocent side character, shouldn't be injured just so our MCs could have a dramatic moment. And that's good writing advice imho.
injure the MCs instead! bahaha

CAPTAIN IT'S ROBIN PLEEEEASE TELL ME ABOUT THE DEATH GAME RPG YOU PUT YOUR FRIENDS THROUGH I LOVE THOSE
ROBIN ROBIN MY DEAR DEAR MUTUAL ROBIN YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT KIND OF PANDORAN BOX YOU'VE JUST OPENED. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE EXECUTION GAMES
The Execution Games (otherwise known as the exgames, or usually teg) is a series of death games run by yours truly, but more Specifically, is run by the hosts: Killer, Hunter, and Ripper. I'll talk more about them later because I can't ever shut up about them, but the players then include, surprise! me again, but also my dear friends :) who enjoy violence like me :) Teg was truly inspired by my obsession with last life and how badly I wanted to play with my friends, plus my inability to play minecraft at the time and my game design and digital storytelling muses, so you can see those influences. A good handful of us play characters that share names with us (helps that many of us have large hoards of names lol) and so p! is used for players, c! for contestants, the characters actually fighting in the games, and then there are also spectators (s!) who mainly watch, but also Can interact with the playing field in limited ways
As far as what the games actually look like, they go on a weekly basis, with wednesday being Execution Day (or exday), where every contestant must draw a card. The contestant who draws the ace is that week's Executioner, though there can be multiple as people lose lives and also become executioner if they draw the 2 or 3. If you're executioner, you need to kill someone by the end of next exday. Simple as that. If you don't, you become the target of the next week's executioner, and you take double damage from their attacks! :)
Now. the hosts. ohhhhhh the hosts. So the thing about teg is that it's a bit of a meta game. There's an item called your talisman that players have to carry around in real life, and if caught without it they're are consequences for their contestant, and all resources for crafting and whatnot come from photos of real life. So in this nature, the hosts are.. weird. They can talk to the players, for one thing. If we consider Killer (any prns), who was originally the sole host of the games and is their creator, well. a lot of players have talked to Killer directly, and more than once. It's a common occurrence. Killer knows the players, and knows the contestants, and knows the difference between them, because a crucial aspect of teg is this: the contestants are the manifestation of the player's desire to play. The games are violent, and deadly, and lead to heartbreak and destruction and anguish. So of course not every contestant might be happy about playing. But if the player is having a good time? sucks to suck <3 that's what it's all about
As far as the other hosts, they're all siblings, but the other two emerged after Killer. Despite this contradiction, Hunter (she/he/they/it/none) is actually the eldest, and while it doesn't do the hands-on hosting that Killer does, she is responsible for the story and lore of teg, as well as the world itself, the playing field, the arena the contestants find themselves in every games. They actually work with Killer in a sandbox to construct the new playing field between games <3 very sweet. What Isn't so sweet is the youngest bitch Ripper (he/she/they/any). This thing is a bastard. and rude. and generally awful. But Ripper's entire purpose is to be on standby in case of Killer's death, which spawned from a point in time where. uhm. some players were considering trying to kill Killer LMAO so yknow. Ripper can Only host if Killer is dead. which makes him a bit salty LOL
But all of that aside ! The point I touched on about contestants being forced to play even if they don't want to (which a lot don't LOL) is the part I think you'd enjoy as far as "forcing my friends to play death games with me ^_^" since as far as the actual players my dear wondrous friends, they ofc aren't forced to play if they don't want lol, but their contestants are held to their whims <3 and it is the job of me and Killer to keep that locked down YIPPEEEEEEEE!!! ^_^!!!
I'm now going to stop talking before this becomes four billion words LOL. but I love teg. There's actually a secret hidden tegblr that is extremely unfinished and hasn't been touched since the first exgames (we're currently on the fourth) but I've been wanting to revamp, and likely will once I'm back at college ! :D and if you want to hear more, there will certainly be more about it there <3 and also if anyone wants to talk more about teg more it is not hard to get me to talk about it. clearly ASDFLJSABDF. it's been my passion project for a couple years now and I love it dearly <3 so yeah. I love putting my friends through my deathgame rpg ^_^

"I think you keep me safe, if anything."
Everyone always talks about Lockwood's later confession of 'whatever time I have, I want to spend it with you'; no one talks about how this reckless, reckless child turns to the girl who thinks she's protecting him by staying away and tells her the opposite.
Lucy, who notes in TEG that his place is always between them and the darkness, keeps him safer because he remembers he actually has a reason to live.
This is incoherent ravings at best, I'm aware, but do you get it? Do you really get it????

Happy Lockwood & Co. Big Bang!!! :D I had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with @The_Dreamer_Half_Alive (on Ao3 :) on her fic for the @lockwoodandcobigbang2023 event; set post TEG, it’s truly so lovely and heartwarming, and I had so much fun doing a piece for it! We very much hope you enjoy :)
Link to the fic!!!! (the horror of the night melt away) under the warm glow of survival of the day
(Closeups below the cut :D) (because I ended up making it too wide to be easily seen in full lol) (plus ~artistic commentary~)

(SPOILERS FOR FIC CONTENT)
Okay, so I tried to put a bunch of little easter eggs from the fic and just in general in here, so if you’re interested:
Alright, to start off, I was generally very inspired by them getting a record player; I thought it was very sweet, and I loved the idea of them finally getting to relax and hang out in the library (the lack of chairs, I know; I couldn’t figure out how to put them in without blocking people lol) and locklyle dancing, with the record player on in the background, so that’s what I took as the basis of the scene!!
We had discussed that the characters were kind of a combo of both show and book versions, so I tried to add a smattering and hints of both when doing their designs!
The record is, of course, an Ella Fitzgerald record as mentioned in the fic (the record drawn is her Souvenir Album)
Holly is wearing her engagement ring, and wearing shades of pink and cream because that’s what she wears at her wedding (although shifted in hue to better match the color scheme of the piece lol)
Everyone (minus Flo) of course has their white strands of hair (which is *always* one of my favorite details to draw)
Lucy and George bake in the fic, but I think I had just read the Christmas mini story when I was doing my thumbnail for this, so Kipps ended up being the one bringing in baked goods; however, the baking mitts are orange and monogrammed with George's initials because I couldn't let that slip by, could I?
I wasn't quite sure what to put Flo in, because in the books she never takes off her boots or puffer jacket, but I wanted to throw in some sign that she was living at 35 Portland Row and becoming closer to all of them, (and her close relationship with George,) so I let her keep the boots, but traded the puffer jacket in for one of George's plaid shirts :)
The chess game also made it in because of the Christmas short story, lol
Lucy's blue star jacket!! When I read the fic, I was planning from the start to have her wearing the jacket, so of course it made it in :) I wasn't really sure what style it should be, though, so I ended up with kind of an odd mishmash of designs, but I think it turned out working alright!
The sapphire necklace, because, of course
I adore that Lockwood wears his pink socks throughout the entire show (well, most of the time they're the pink ones ;) so I wanted to include them (and then gave Lucy blue ones to match :)
The chipped blue mugs that Lockwood brings to Lucy for her tea after she wakes up from nightmares are on the bookshelf, and I couldn't find a way to directly include the Earl Grey tea they have, but I made the tea bag tags grey in honor of it
The green glow is the ghost lamp outside because if I can find a way to incorporate cool glows in my art, I will (and also on a more narrative-driven note, symbolizing the past danger they've been through and how some of it is definitely still present, but they have each other to heal with and finally be able to have some simple fun with, and are now curled up in the safety and comfort of 35 Portland Row :)
And finally, a big theme of the fic is them healing and building a happy life together, so I just wanted them to all be happy for once, and hence I put in my best efforts to draw them as such :)

hello,
this may sound like a silly question, but is it possible for someone who is not Irish, scottish, or British to be contacted by the Fae?
thank you!
Hello there.
This isn't a silly question, but it's one I will have to expound on a bit, as opposed to just giving a yes or no answer. I'll also preface this by saying that my personal beliefs will likely be contentious to some, and I encourage readers to take what they find useful and leave the rest if it conflicts with their own paradigm. Most of this comes from a mixture of personal gnosis and theory, and I am not attempting to assert authority on the subject or claim academic accuracy, so please keep that in mind.
To put it very simply, I believe that the Fae are present in every region of the world, and I have highly syncretic beliefs about the nature of the Fae and other spirits in general. For me, the folkloric specifics come down to cultural lenses and the ways that long-term worship and perception shape the expectations and manifestations of the Gloaming Folk. So, no, I don't think one has to be Gaelic or Brythonic in order to cultivate a relationship with the Fae.
For instance, when looking at the Faerie Faith, many people think primarily—if not only—of the insular Celts. The Fair Folk of the English; the Aos Sidhe of the Irish; the Daoine Sìth of the Scottish; the Sheeaghan of the Manx; the Twlwyth Teg of the Welsh; the Spyrysyon of the Cornish; and the Korrigan of the Breton. But in the larger context of Germanic and Scandinavian folklore, there is copious evidence of entities that are undeniably similar to the Fae as they are understood in the Insular Celtic Isles. In fact, the Germanic word Elf is so closely aligned with the term Faery that many people don't even realize or think about the fact that they derive from different cultures. That being said, the Germanic/Scandinavian "lens" of Faerie Lore is probably the other best known by the wider public.
Likewise, there are multiple beings that show up in Slavic mythology and folklore—such as the Vila, the Rusalke, or the Vodyanoy—which are pretty readily accepted as Faeries. I don't know of an overarching term that would necessarily be equivalent, but the folkloric link is still there.
Now, moving into a more controversial aspect of my beliefs, I also happen to think of Angels, Demons, and Djinn in terms of Gloaming Spirits. While I readily admit that millenia of regionally specific belief and veneration form unique "identies" that Spirits of a given culture may align more closely with, I believe that they are all part of one larger "family" of beings who have been interacting with humanity for many thousands of years. I realize that this will likely be considered an egregious oversimplication for some, or possibly even an erasure of the individuality these cultures possess; but for me, the things that make a tradition sacred and unique are not invalidated or snuffed out by by the fact that other cultures may find recognition in them. So, while I do think beings like Angels, Demons, and Djinn are inexorably interrelated, I also fully accept that they are unique and culturally specific. And frankly, I find it hard to believe that others who have engaged in intensive personal gnosis haven't come across similar threads of paradoxical interconnection.
Beyond these, though, I've also pinpointed other entities over the years that I think represent reasonable approximations of the Fae. These include things like:
The Peris of Persian Mythology (Beautiful aerial spirits sometimes known to work with humans called Peri-Kahn, who gained skills and abilities from the relationship. They are generally described as humanoid figures with beautiful wings, who are known for their michevious behavior, though at least one work references them as divine beings denied entry into paradise until such a times as they have atoned—a folkloric motif some will recognize in connection to certain folk-beliefs regarding the Angels and the Fae.)
The Yakshas of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism (Spirits of nature often connected with water, fertility, plants, treasures, and the wilderness. While some are considered benign or benevolent, others are considered more mischevious or sinister, though most are considered capricious. Sometimes associated with ecological forces, and at other times, with the spirits of the dead. )
The Yōkai of Shintō (A diverse array of spirits—often explicitly equivacated with fairies, demons, and/or sprites—known to interact with humans in both benevolent and malevolent capacities. While many of these spirits are quite singular in their uniqueness, others are more recognizable within a broader archetypal folkloric context—such as the Zashiki-warashi, which are described as diminutive domestic sprites known for both their ability to bestow good fortune, and their tendency to perform mischevious pranks.)
The Korpokkur of Ainu Mythology (A race of little folk, associated with the Butterbur plant, who were said to leave gifts under cover of night—as they did not like being seen. They were believed to be the original inhabitants of Japan before the Ainu—which also echoes aspects of Celtic Faerie Lore.)
The Aziza of Dahomean Mythology (A race of supernatural little folk who are said to live in the Wilds—often beneath Anthills or within silk-cotton trees— and use their magic to help humans, as well as providing people with practical knowledge and spiritual wisdom.)
The Yumboes of Wolof Mythology (Spirits of the dead described as little folk with pearly white skin and silver hair who lived beneath hills and come out to dance beneath the Moonlight. They are known to hold great feasts, which humans are sometimes invited to.)
The Hellenic Nymphs, Sirens, and Kobaloi (As many know, Nymphs are animistic spirits of nature, considered beautiful, and known to interact with humans. Likewise, most will have heard of Sirens as beautiful, seductive, and dangerous spirits of the water who are known to entice and drown men. The Kobaloi, in turn, are described as a mischievous race of small goblin-like folk who are fond of playing tricks on human kind.)
The Basque Iratxoak, Laminak, and Mairuak (An Iraxto is a type of domestic Imp or Goblin known to help with human labors in the night, if properly propitiated. A Lamina, on the other hand, is a Water Maiden described similarly to Sirens or Nereids. They are generally understood to have webbed duck feet and long beautiful hair, which they are fond of combing by the waterside. They are known for both their tendency to offer aid to those who show them respect and propitiation, and their tendency to seduce and ensnare men. Some traditions speak of male giants called Mairuak, who are closely associated with Laminak, and are linked by some with the construction of megalithic structures.)
The Duende of Iberian mythology (A term quite similar to 'Faery' in its usage, which encompasses a diverse array of spiritual entities who are generally said to appear as humanoid, though frequently capable of shapeshifting. They are often associated with nature and are known for their involvement with humans—be it helpful, romantic, michevious, or vicious. They include goblin-esque folk known as Trasgu, Water Maidens known as Xana or Anjana, and supernatural beings called Mouros who take refuge beneath the earth and rarely emerge near sites like barrows. The most common conception of a Duende, however, describes them as a mischevious sort of domestic imp or goblin known for their dealings with the human world. )
The Aztec Chaneque (A sprite-like race of little folk who are associated with Elemental forces and are often conceived as guardians of nature. These beings were once propotiated by the Nàhuatl peoples in exchange for protection from blight, intruders, and evil forces. However, they could also inflict harm, and they were known to sometimes kidnap humans and take them to their home in the Underworld of of Mictlàn to be seduced. On an interesting sidenote, one folk-method of protecting against them when traveling in the forest was for a person to turn their clothing inside out—a charm many will recognize from Celtic Faerie Folklore.)
The Mayan Aluxo'ob (Spirits recognized in the mythological traditions of certain Maya peoples, who are generally associated with particular features of nature. They are described as small and humanoid, and they usually remain invisible, though they can assume physical form for the sake of interacting with humans. Sometimes, wandering Aluxo'ob are said to ask for offerings from farmers or travelers and may respond with wrath if refused. If its conditions are respectfully met, however, it is said that an Alux will provide protection, luck, and aid. In fact, some traditions hold that a farmer can erect a specialized form of Spirit House in order to welcome in an Alux that will aid them for a contracted period of time with tending crops, summoning favorable weather, and guarding property. What's more, there exist naming taboos that reflect themes of Celtic Faerie Lore.)
The Guarani Pombero (A spirit particularly important in Paraguay, though it appears in multiple mythological traditions from the surrounding area. The Pombero is generally conceived as a small hairy man who lives in forested areas and abandoned sites, and is known to cause mischief for humans. It is said that the Pombero can become invisible, change shape, and perfectly mimick the sounds of the wild. Usually, he is considered harmless, if mischevious—known for antics like food theft, the loosing of cattle, and the scattering of household objects. Though, he is also known also known to occasionally abduct and/or impregnate women, resulting in the births of hairy children. The Pombero is capable of being appeased, however, through offerings such as cigars, liquor, and honey. It is even said that, if these propitiations are observed consistently for long enough, the Pombero will take a liking to a person or persons and provide protection for their home and posessions, as well as leaving gifts of their own in return.)
The Tupi-Guarani Curupira (A spirit described in the folklore of Paraguay, Amazonia, Brasil, and Argentina as a little man with bright red hair and feet turned backwards, which it uses to obfuscate the trajectory of its footprints. They are said to live in the wild, and will prey on hunters who take more than they need, or who harm animals while they care for their Offspring. They are also said to ocassionally abduct and/or impregnate women, resulting in strange or unexplained births.)
The Iroquois Jogah (A race of magical little folk spoken of in Iroquois lore. They are said to be largely invisible, and an array of phenomena are associated with them, such as mysterious drumming noises, rings of bare earth, disembodied lights, and "bowls" found in stones. Offerings such as tobacco and fingernail parings could be left within these stone bowls, as propitiation to the Jogah. They are fond of mischief and games, though they can also be dangerous if disrespected. It is said, for example, that they will cause illness in homes constructed upon sites that they favor. The Jogah are also known for the variety of sub-groups into which they can be divided, generally associated with particular aspects or features of the natural world.)
& the Māori Patupaiarehe (Beings described in Māori mythology as a pale folk with red or golden hair. They are said to live in the mountains, hills, and deep forests in communities unseen by human eyes. They are known to influence the mist and clouds, to play music sweeter than that of any human hand, and were said to sometimes act with hostility towards humans who encroach or intrude upon their land. Despite this, however, most traditions state that Māori are able to converse with them at times.)
These are only a selection of traditional beliefs, though there are many more I won't attempt to list, and who knows how many more I've never heard. These are merely ones that have particularly caught my notice over time, and which seemed worth mentioning here. However, I am far from an anthropological expert, and I encourage others to ammend, contextualize, and add onto this information as they see fit—especially if they come from a culture I reference here. My goal is not to imply that all of these traditions are somehow directly connected to the Anglo-Celtic traditions, or that Anglo-Celtic mythology should be the cornerstone by which all folklore is considered; it's just the cultural background I have the most personal connection to/understanding of, and so I aim to speak mainly from a place of my own experience (though, I am actually half Paraguayan as well.)
So, in conclusion, while I do think that one's own cultural and regional context generally plays an important role in how one is likely to encounter the Gloaming Folk, I believe that people from virtually every culture have the capacity for working with them. I think that, when attempting to approach the Fae, it's a good idea for one to come at it from the perspective of their own heritage and regional lore, but at the same time, one can't always help the way spirits end up cultivating relationships with them (and, honestly, I think it is better for one to wait for the Fae to approach them whenever possible.)

So.....
Hello everyone.
With a heavy spark, I hate say that I have finished the most heartwarming, comedic, an violent fic I have possibly read.
The Echo Garden, by Altraviolet on ao3, is one of the very, very, very few fics that made me feel things. It made me laugh till I cried, it made me cry till I couldn't pick it up again to read it, it made me feel warm inside where my heart is supposed to be.
I'll admit, I'm not the biggest fan of romantic scenes in general, but TEGs more lovey scenes, somehow let me power through them, unlike others I've read.
Thank you, @altraviolet for your amazing work and dedication to sw and rodimus, I won't be forgetting them for a while. You are one of the best authors I have seen in a while, and if you post TEG on other fanfic platforms, everyone is gonna go crazy cuz they ain't never seen a masterpiece like this. Whatever other projects you have, I hope they turn out well, so well in fact that every ao3 writer will bang on your door for your secrets.
I have problems letting go of things, I have a very bad hoarding problem, and I defo won't be letting go of TEG. And I should let go of writing this otherwise it will go on forever.
Bye 🥺🥺🥺🤧🤧🤧

This manual is inspired by @lucy-j-carlyle 's plastic bag idea
The Lockwood and Co. Ghost-Hunting Manual
by Lucy Carlyle and George Cubbins, transcripted by George Cubbins and edited by Holly Munro. (Anthony Lockwood? He's too busy flashing his pearly-white teeth on the front page of every magazine in London.)
Handy Agent Tool-Kit for Defence Against Ghosts
Remember, the three principle defenses, in order of effectiveness, are silver, iron, and salt.
Rapier — an agent should never do without one. If you forget yours, you're a wimp. Admit defeat (something I agree on, for once)
Iron fillings — used to create protective circles, mostly against type one manifestations, as stronger type twos can often easily move them. Agents also run the risk of damaging the circle by accidentally stepping on it. (Haha, guess who did this) (it's not me, it was you, Lockwood.) (I'm living with maniacs.) They can also be thrown, causing similar effects to a salt bomb.
Magnesium flares — works well against type twos. Explodes into a shower of beautiful light and temporarily neutralises the apparition or drives them away, until you realise that you're indoors and the whole place is on fire. (Totally not based on experience, totally.)
Iron Chains — for stronger ghosts (Type Twos). At least one per agent to create a protective circle, number of chains depending on the strength of the ghost. (If you do not bring this along with you, well, I hate to recount the details of my second case in Lockwood and Co again. To say a hefty fine is the least of your worries.)
Salt Bombs — causes minor explosions of salt that drive them away or even cause them to dematerialise for a short time. Weak form of defence, usually used against weaker ghosts (Type Ones). Bring at least four of these or lavender sticks, if you want to keep your teammates and yourself happy and healthy.(Safety is never an option, too bad, thou artless, beef-witted coward!) *winks* (shut up Tony, thou bawdy, pottle-deep popinjay!)
Sufficient Lavender sticks/Lavenders - smells nice, works... not so nicely for stronger ghosts and when the smell fades. If you don't know what it means, you can figure it out yourself. Though we are not liable for any of the acts of stupidity you are about to commit. (they mean it's best to always pack fresh lavenders, and avoid old stalks as their scent may not be strong enough to contain the source.) (Oh shut up, Holly)
Ghost-seeing goggles for the old codgers experienced supervisors and field operators (geez, Lucy, really)
Candles, full box of matches, torches, lamps with the shutters, the likes
And lastly, but most importantly, Plastic bags (see note here*)
*This is the latest tool for defence against ghosts, discovered by formidable agent Lucy Carlyle. (she's just under five feet six inches 🤨) (LOCKWOOD!!) Bring at least 5 plastic bags, wrapping them around your agent duffel bags, your backpack, and the occasional annoying teammate or supervisor. At least they'd no longer be a useless pile of ghost-cow droppings an obstruction (George! Lucy! Censored for, well, sanity purposes)
Gosh, I do need to make a Lockwood and Co Ghost Hunting Manual on ao3 or sth (published after teg)
(read the tags, if you'd like)

Obey Me: Leviathan x MC. A declaration of love.
Synopsis: u confess your love to Levi.
Tegs: Fluff/Comfort. GN!MC. The characters are not in relationship. Drabble.
N/A: I was inspired by this idea thanks to a comment under one of the posts. Thx!! ;>
***
— Oh, Levi, so are you ready to admit that you're in love with them? I thought you'd never say in your life that you like someone more than 2D characters.~ ♡ — As usual, you were going to walk past Asmodeus room to go downstairs for dinner. But when a snippet of dialogue reached your ears from behind the slightly open door, you couldn't contain your curiosity and stopped.
— ROFLMAO, dude, it's not that serious. I mean, like, lol, I think about them more often than about Ruri-chan and my heart beats DISGUUUUUUSTINGLY fast, but, lol, bro.
— Yes, yes, I understand! Shut up, please, you fucking otaku. — You heard irritated notes in Asmo head and could have sworn that right now he rolled his eyes. — I realized that you're just a fucking tsundere and I'm very happy for you and your feelings, but what do you need FROM ME?
The room suddenly becomes quiet, after which the surprised cry of the Avatar of Lust is heard.
— Is it possible that you want to... SEDUCE THEM? I can literally feel the waves of lust coming from you!!!~
— WHAT??? D-DUDE, YOU'RE TALKING NONSENSE! I don't understand why I came to you at all, damn it...
The next moment Levi ran out of Asmodeus' room, coming face to face with you. His cheeks turned a deep red and he cried out.
— MC? W-what are you doing here?! Did you hear everything?
— What? What are you talking? — You innocently blinked, for some reason deciding to lie. — I was just passing by and was going to invite Asmo to dinner.
— Really? — He exhaled. — It's relief. THAT IS, NOT THAT I HAVE ANYTHING TO HIDE AT ALL, BUT.
— I understand. So are we doing?
— Yes. Sorry.
***
After dinner, you were sitting together in Levi's room when he turned on a series of new anime.
Recently overheard conversation did not come out of your thoughts. «Is it possible that he was talking about me? Then Levi is in love with me? It's so presumptuous, but...». You stole a glance at the demon, who was completely focused on the screen. Cheeks slightly reddened at the thought that he could share your feelings and you mentally thanked the Avatar of Envy for not looking at you now.
On the other hand heart tingled unpleasantly from the realization that he could well be talking about someone from the Internet or about some kind of idol.
— It's just incredible, MC! The plot captures from the first minutes, you like it, right?
— Mm? What? Oh, yeah. I... like it, — there's no need to specify what you're talking about.
Suddenly, your head falls gently on Levi's shoulder. You feel him flinch at the unexpected touch, and you are sure that now the demon's cheeks are absolutely red, but he no longer screams and pulls away as before.
Out of the corner of your eye, you notice how he awkwardly licks his lips and clenches his palms into a fist. It's so cute that you almost want to tease him and do something more awkward, but you're afraid that your date (Levi, of course, denies that this is a date) will end in something like a faint.
— Oh, it seems that the best part of this series is about to begin, isn't it? — This is an absolute lie. You're not a bit interested in what's happening on the screen right now and all your attention is focused on the demon in front of you.
— Did you watch without me?! In any case, it's still early for epic moments, but yes, it's not bad.
— Yes, it seems interesting.
The Avatar of Envy smells like a sea breeze and you bite your lips. Does Levi think about you the same way you think about him? Is it possible to check at least a little bit?
You suddenly nuzzle into his neck and exhale gently. You feel the demon straining next to you, but you are glad that he has not distanced himself.
— W-what are you doing, MC?! — The tone of his voice rises noticeably and it seems a little funny to you. You giggle and your breath tickles his skin.
— Sorry-sorry. Can you pause it? I just want sit this way for a little bit more.
He doesn't answer, but pauses the anime and you close your eyes. Something timidly touches your hand and you realize that it is Levi's hand. His fingers intertwine with yours and you squeeze his palm slightly so that he does not let go.
You sit like this for several minutes and no one dares to interrupt the silence that has come.
— Uhm... Levi? — You whisper his name softly and try not to pay attention to how he shrinks. — Can I say something?
— Of course... — You can hardly hear him.
A few more minutes of silence. You slowly lower Levi's arm and gently hug him.
— I love you. I love you. I love you. — You say it quickly and quietly before he understands the meaning of your words and actions.
— Ooh? WOW, MC?! Why are you saying this so suddenly?!?! — He tries to pull away, but you hug him a little tighter and he gives up.
— I'm sorry. I heard a little of what you were talking about with Asmo. To be honest, I'd like you to talk to him about me. I want to believe that you like me too. I don't want to give you to someone else.
Your voice is shaking. You imagined that you would say it more calmly, but now you clearly feel how scared you are. Your heart seems to freeze and you already regret what you said. It takes about a minute, but you don't get an answer. You're scared, so scared. You stop hugging and purse your lips. You look into Levi's face and see the shock frozen in his eyes. «Why did I say that? Why did I say that? Why am I... stupid stupid stupid».
— I'm sorry, I was probably too presumptuous when I thought you were talking about me. I'm sorry, should I leave?
You get up and turn your back to him, but before you take another step, Levi jumps up and suddenly puts his arm around your waist.
— Arghh, you!! You damn it normie!! — You can't see the face, but for some reason you are absolutely sure that he blushed. — It's me... I lo... Me too.. I feel the same way! If this isn't a joke, then I don't understand how you can love someone as pathetic and as vile as me. I've been talking to Asmodeus about you and I still don't understand. I don't think I deserve to hear such words from you if you're not joking. I just... Me too.... Damn!
You turn to face Levi and give him a quick kiss on the cheek to shut him up. It seems to work, because his already red face looks like a tomato, and you smile.
— AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, WHAT THE HELL?
He screams, takes a couple of steps back, stumbles and falls. There is no trace of your old fear and you giggle. The devil himself is tempting you to tease Leviathan a little more.
— Oh, I think I just remembered what Asmo said about "waves of lust"? What was he talking about?~
N/A: It turned out so-so, WELL, OKAY. But I find Levi incredibly cute, ahaha. I've been writing this for a fucking long time.

What’s your favorite MTMTE/LL story arc?? I’m currently rereading it in preparation for the end of TEG. I really enjoy the DJD/Necroworld arc!
Oooh that's a good question. tbh I don't know the names of the arcs so I'm gonna throw some stuff out there that I really liked. SPOILERS for MTMTE/LL.
-the idea and complexity behind sociotemporal points of interest and how that manifested in the Going Back In Time arc
-learning about the duplicates & their fates
-the Chromedome - Overlord conversation is one of the few things I skip when I reread the series. it's kinda long but even if you skip it, What Follows is really heartbreaking. I wish it hadn't been spoiled for me
-oh holy shit. ok. Grindcore. good lord that gave me such an emotional reaction. I can't say it's a favorite, I guess?? cuz it's obv horrible and I don't care for horrible BUT IT'S SO HORRIBLE it's horrible (it's well done) it's ahhhhhhhhh ahhhhh
that's all I can really remember at the moment that isn't very general (like: I like how so much stuff is foreshadowed!) or isn't very specific (like that time Rodimus says HI BEST FRIEND! when 'calling' Megatron, bahaha)
thanks for the ask! enjoy your reread =D

Suffice to say no agent was looking their best over the Black Winter, not even Anthony Lockwood. An exploration of Lockwood's hairstyle choices, in three drabbles covering the second half of the series and slightly beyond.
Written for Lockwood & Co Appreciation Week 2024, Day 1: Favorite Character in the Main Trio. I love all three of them with my whole heart, but when it comes down to it, I'm predictable, it's gotta be Lockwood.
(based on this post about Lockwood's TEG hair that I've been snickering over for weeks)

That last line in TEG absolutely KILLED me. So I decided to write a series of Locklyle one-shots, to heal my poor broken unsatisfied heart. This one takes place somewhere between TCS and TEG. Enjoy!:) I posted this on Fanfiction.net as well, so you can check it out. It's called Moments in Time and by username is MissPotts01.
Lucy Carlyle was having a really hard time not falling in love with Anthony Lockwood.
It wasn't his good looks that did her in, (though they certainly were an added bonus). She pretended not to notice her heart do backflips everytime a lock of his dark hair would fall into his eyes, or the way he'd flash his special smile at her, successfully making her forget all logic. Or the way he threw back his head and laughed at something George said/did, making her wish she could bottle the sound and listen to it whenever she wanted.
It wasn't even because of the suave, confident disposition that was his leadership. Or the quiet, calm way he inspired his team's confidence and gave them the strength to believe in themselves. Or the way he'd congratulate everyone individually on a job well done after a case was closed. His charm, his witty remarks, his charismatic smile were all trademarks of just him being Lockwood and were all enough on their own to give her butterflies.
But they weren't the reason why she was having a hard time preventing him from living rent-free in her head.
No. That was because of a very simple reason:-
Lockwood saw her as a person first and an agent second.
Ever since she was a little girl, her abilities as an agent had always been given top priority. Especially by her family. According to her mother, Lucy's primary existence revolved around solving the best cases, bringing in lots of money and generally being the best agent there ever was.
Even at the cost of her own safety.
It's not that she had ever resented her Talent, (she wouldn't know who she was without it) but sometimes she really wished her mother would try to have a conversation with Lucy Carlyle her daughter, rather than Lucy Carlyle, the agent. Her sisters weren't so bad, but there was such a wide chasm between her and them, that it seemed impossible and completely useless to try and cross it. Packing her bags and coming to London, had probably been the best decision she'd ever made. Here, she found a family.
And Lockwood.
She scowled. It was eleven thirty in the morning, (early by her standards) and she just couldn't get him out of her head. For crying out loud, the day had only just begun!
"Something wrong, Luce?" asked Lockwood, peering over the top of his newspaper. They were sitting at the breakfast table, rested from a night's sleep after a particularly gruelling case. George, was scribbling something in his research notes, and inhaling one jelly doughnut after the other, Holly was looking at him with mild disdain, as she daintily sipped her cup of tea.
And Lockwood?
Ah, Lockwood. Well, he was looking right at her.
"Luce?" He asked, his eyes probing, "Are you okay?"
Belatedly, Lucy realized Lockwood had asked her a question. Flushing bright red, she gulped down her scalding hot tea.
"Just fine." she said, sneaking a glance at Holly and George, to see if they were paying attention to the conversation. (They weren't. Holly was delicately broaching the topic of civilized eating with George, who was clearly not listening to a word she was saying.)
Lockwood raised his eyebrows. "Is that why you're scowling at your breakfast?"
She flushed a deep, beet root red. Ah. So he had caught that.
"Oh, just thinking about things." she said flippantly. Getting out of here would probably be a good idea. She could never think logically when Lockwood was shooting her one of his 'searching' looks.
She grabbed her plate and cup, rinsed them in the sink and all but dashed out of the kitchen, all while feeling the intensity of Lockwood's gaze on her.
The warm afternoon sunshine was making her sleepy. She was sitting out in the garden, drawing soft, languid strokes across her sketchbook. First came the strong, defined jawline, the angular cheekbones, the megawatt smile, tousled hair, there was no mistake:- she was drawing Lockwood.
"Is that supposed to be me?" asked a voice behind her.
She jumped a foot in the air, and whirled around. Lockwood was standing there, no tie, shirt sleeves rolled up, looking more relaxed than she'd ever seen him.
"Yes," she said, suddenly remembering that he'd asked her a question.
"It's really good." He smiled at her, soft, slow and hesitant, the one he reserved just for her. "You're really good, Luce."
She flushed as red as a tomato at his praise. (Was she doomed to forever resembling a tomato when he was around?)
"If it's okay with you," (he rubbed the back of his neck) "I would-" (now he was messing with his hair) "-really love to see more of your sketches."
Oh.
It's not that she didn't want to show him. She did! He was the first person she would have shown all her work to if...he weren't the centre of nearly every artwork she'd done.
She opened her mouth, prepared to decline and make up some excuse which he'd never believe, when suddenly-
"Yes."
Had she actually said that? No, she hadn't. The wind was messing with her hearing.
Except, there was no wind.
Which meant...she'd just agreed to letting Lockwood see her sketches.
Lockwood on the other hand, seemed unaware of the inner turmoil in Lucy's head, because he was already stretching out a long quick fingered hand for her sketchbook-
-and wordlessly, Lucy seemed to be handing it to him.
She watched him flip through the pages, and felt something akin to a very strong and intense feeling blooming in her chest. What that feeling was she had no idea. Well, she had some idea but she was trying not to think about that. All she knew was she felt extreme happiness when he was around, felt joy when he noticed little things about her and felt pleasantly surprised when he wanted to know more about her, the person rather than her agent persona. She felt special when he chose to confide in her, and while their experience on The Other Side had severely scarred them, she wouldn't change a thing about it. It had forged an irrefutable bond between them which she'd rather kiss a Raw-bones than break.
Love.
The unfamiliarity of the word struck her as odd, since the person who it was associated with felt like home.
She was incomparably, irrevevocably, completely and utterly in love with him.
The realization wasn't as jarring as she thought it would be. Instead, it brought with it a sense of peace, a sense of belonging and a feeling of familiarity.
Like coming home after a long day of work. She felt at ease, as if everything was just right.
As she looked at him, still thumbing through the pages of her sketchbook, she was still having a hard time not falling in love with him. But she found she didn't care. She was tired of ignoring her feelings and keeping them locked up in a box. She knew he felt something towards her, and was going to wait however long it took, to make him realize that she was going nowhere.
She looked at him and smiled:- I am going to allow myself to fall head over heels in love with Anthony Lockwood.

Hey lovely. Wanted to ask you this as you work in the industry but who funds Louis’ tour? Is that the record company or is he doing it himself? And who pays his band, manager etc? I’m just curious as to how much support he’s getting from his record label or if he’s really doing a lot of self funding.
Hello, my love! I’m gonna try and explain this the simplest way possible so I don’t get into too much jargon and make you read a 3,000 word essay hehe. Also, contracts can all vary, but this is the most standard way of touring when it comes to big artists. Let’s goooooo!
Okay, SO, when a big artist (or band) go on tour, they will 99.9% of the time have a contractual Agreement with a concert promoter, this includes the likes of Australian exclusive promoter TEG (who Niall is touring Australia with this year), international promoter Live Nation (Harry toured worldwide with them, Louis did Australia/Asia with them and probably worldwide too because of global deals), Australia/NZ exclusive promoter Frontier Touring (T Swift for Australia, but she was with Live Nation in the US) and there are many other promoters worldwide too. You’ll see on some specific marketing material that the artist and promoter put out, it will have their logo at the bottom of the tour poster, and shows they are what is called a “sponsor” or the concert promoter for this tour. See examples of this below:
Tumblr media
^ niall’s Australian tour with TEG live on the bottom right
Tumblr media
^ one of Harry’s US posters with Live Nation at the bottom
Tumblr media
^louis’ Singapore tour poster, also with Live Nation at the bottom
So basically, what these concert promoters do, is sponsor the artist. That means, the booking agent/tour manager will sign a contract with whichever promoter offers the best deal, and will tour with them. The reason why they sign up for a tour with a promoter, is because the promoter provides a safety net, and takes care of a lot of the things that come with touring that the artist and their team don’t wanna think about organising, and so they let them do it for them. This includes stuff like paying and organising crewing teams and riggers and those guys, work Visas to get into the country, marketing, venues and available dates for shows, catering, sound/lights/backline/LED, rent costs for the venue, security, flights, accommodation, etc., which is negotiated per the contractual Agreement.
The tour manager of the artist also works really closely with these guys to approve any staging, catering, or locally rented lighting rigs and all that specific fun stuff that the artist doesn’t travel with, but is particular about to make the shows/tour exactly how they want them (this will be in their production rider and hospitality rider that they supply the promoter with).
Let’s say, for example, Niall really wants to stay in a specific 5 star hotel in Brisbane, he wants a flight to Aus at a very particular time on a very specific date, he wants to bring 40 crew members with him, he needs a specific set of lights and a particular sound desk at each show (bc he’s my little drama queen). Him and his team are super busy on the other side of the world, they just don’t have time to organise all of that. It would be constant emails and phone calls back and forth with quotes, availability, submitting 40 work Visa applications, multiple suppliers saying “yes we can do that” and “no we can’t”, time zones, etc., so why not sign up with a promoter and let them do it for him?
So now, we get into the money side of things. Sure, niall knows he will make money if he tours without a promoter, he knows he’ll sell tickets in Aus, and he knows that he’d probably come out with a profit. But apart from not wanting to organise and spending a heap of money on all of this stuff, is it worth touring if he doesn’t think it’ll be sustainable and he’s basically lost money from doing it? No, it’s not. SO promoters know this, and they all fight for artists to sign with them, by offering up the biggest guarantee they can. This is often a guarantee vs ticket sales scenario.
So, if TEG were like “hey niall, we’ll guarantee you $800,000 to tour with us, or, 80% of ticket sales, whichever amount is higher”. A guarantee means he’s not relying on ticket sales alone. He knows that if none of his shows sell out and less people come than he thought, he’s still gonna get $800,000. Or, if he sells a heap of tickets, he gets more than that, yay! But if Frontier Touring were like “nah, come with us, we’ll give you $700,000 vs 90% of ticket sales, he’d have to consider the fact he might not make as much money, unless he really trusts that all of his shows sell out. So they usually go with whoever can give a higher guarantee.
Now, within these deals, sometimes the higher the guarantee, the more the artist has to pay for themselves (I’m keeping this at like… what a Harry/Niall/Louis level deal would kind of be, not like an Elton John level or something, because that would probably vary entirely). So, Niall has been guaranteed this insane amount of money, but TEG are then like “well… we’ll do all of this and you know you’re making money, but we do have a budget. So you can pay for your flights and work visas, and everything that you want that is above our budget cap, but we will try to keep everything under budget unless you approve to pay more for a specific thing you want”. Ya know? So yeah, Niall is like “hell yeah dudes, sounds good. Sign me up”. And then it’s all a bunch of finance organising etc., but yeah. Usually the smaller the band, the more they’ll pay for if they go with a promoter, because the promoter doesn’t want to take too many risks on them and still needs to make money. They’ll still get a guarantee, but will have to sort out more by themselves, and not treated exactly like royalty like Harry would be.
So long story short, the concert promoter funded Louis’ tour, and probably organised just about everything. The concert promoter sends the money to Louis’ agent (whether it be the guarantee or higher due to ticket sales), and they divide that amount to him, his manager (which is usually 15-20% but can differ with how famous the artist is), anyone else involved in contracts for % of touring, and then happy days. The tour is over and everything has been a lot easier than the tour manager(s) having to organise it all by themselves, and risk losing a bunch of money in doing so.
Thanks for the q, anon! Let me know if you need clarification on anything xx
