I find it hilarious that like, most popular headcanons/ideas of HMS come from something that's in the actual album. Whether its the cover art or from a lyric, it makes sense with context or a metaphor. Then there's just a random ass chicken that came from nowhere.

the idea of Mind crying for the first time entirely alone off screen just because he’s so worried about Soul and Heart simultaneously and also just from feeling betrayed just breaks me to think about

like the concept he’s worried for Soul because Heart is violent/just tried to shoot him, but he’s also worried for Heart because he knows Soul is going to punish them in some way and for once he doesn’t know what’s going to happen he has no clue if either of them are ok and he’s just Alone and in pain and is just sitting there waiting and hoping for the best and he finally gives himself a moment to show emotion and he’s entirely alone when it happens and. Just. Fuck I love thinking about Mind so so so much. he was definitely mentally kicking himself for doing it also btw. if it’s not obvious I’m very excited that I’m finally at the stage of the fic in which I finally get to do character study stuff :)

anyway! Here’s ones I did last night specifically related to this detail of my soul design: (HEAVY TW FOR SUICIDE ATEMPT)

I love how Soul is the embodiment of identity and the self and yet keeps straying further and further from Whole both in terms of remembering him as well as the concept of being Whole/human and it absolutely HATES it !!!!! I love dissecting my characterization of it it’s definitely my favorite jash to write as much as I love Heart my love for identity issues and trans allegories is stronger sorry

Everything turned out ok in the end <3 peace and love on planet HMS (off topic but I love the idea Heart and Mind show opposite expressions to what you’d assume, like Heart is more downtrodden/pessimistic while Mind is the one being more optimistic/comforting, I just like it, character arcs and all that youknow? )(plus Mind and Soul friendship is my new favorite thing in the word after brainstorming the post RoE chapter more)

oohoohoo im glad you asked :D

Chonny Jash is a musical artist who my dear friend Robin introduced me to back in uhhhh September or October! He's best known for his covers of tally hall and miracle musical songs in which he rewrites many of the lyrics! He does also have some original songs though (which are very good) and will do power hours of about 5 songs of any specific artist (the most recent was will wood)!

Most of my posting about him is tied to his album chonny's charming chaos compendium (or cccc) which is made up of aforementioned tally hall/miracle musical covers! This album follows the three main characters heart, mind and soul, and mainly centres around themes of mental dissonance! (its very good definitely check it out) There's a rather obscure story to is which is largely up to interpretation, not a whole lot of word of god yk

He also has another album called 'gothic whore, or the novel lyric hunt' which is also really good! (but not tied to cccc in any way though it does kinda have its own story!)

If you wanted to start listening to him i'd say begin with cccc and maybe his original songs! (fine im fine and 20XX) and if not then i hope this post is helpful im not the most knowladgable guy (again ive only been in the fandom for like 4 or so months)

Intoduction to C,honny jash 🔥🔥🔥 (no way fire... like from *gets shot)

CLAPS HANDS TOGETHER OKAY. OKAY. so chonny jash is this really cool singer guy song cover man on YouTube he makes some really good goddamn music and if you like tally hall, will wood, lemon demon (all other alternative/indie music creators and bands) then you MIGHT like him.

I think his most popular work/the work that gets most people invested into his music in the first place would be his album CCCC (chonny’s charming chaos compendium) which is a cover album consisting of songs that were originally from tally hall before jash took the lyrics and the music and like. Molded it to fit his ocs. That’s the best way I can describe it.

The three main characters of this album would be Heart, Mind, and Soul, and people (including me) GO ABSOLUTELY NUTS OVER THEM jash’s writing and singing and like general music skills are so good if you want to get into this album I’d seriously consider checking out his mind electric video first (the twelve minute one, it has 3 songs in total and they all do a pretty good job of introducing all three characters respectively).

Not only is the music like REALLY FUCKING GOOD the entire. Differentiation between sepereate characters based off of jash's artistic skills thing + motifs/symbolism for each one is extremely well thought out and the relationships between the three of these guys are CRAZY and TOXIC and RIVETING and bottom line SUPER GODDAMN RELATABLE to the vast majority of those in his audience. I would definitely recommend it if you enjoy concept albums/piecing together a story based off of several songs for me it was certainly an arduous process but BOY was it rewarding.

The lore/message itself is mostly up to listener interpretation but I personally like to think of that album as being centered around how valuable self acceptance is, how important communication and understanding and empathy is in a relationship, learning to break free from the bars that society cages one within, and just general dealings/causations of psychological turmoil. I think that what I like the MOST about CCCC tho is how lax/free you can be with your interpretations. it allows a LOT of space for creative liberty and overall message variation, and I like that. I like that very much.

OH and if you enjoy witty lyricism/enjoy having a bunch of allusions that you can rabbit-hole yourself into then you’ll probably like chonny jash . His stuff is like a puzzle but in video/music form. Anyway chonny jash changed my life I think everybody should listen to and look at the lyrics of one of his songs at least once in their life this shit is so good

AND . AND TRIGUN. TRIGUN ISN’T A VIDEO GAME it’S a space western anime. Well OKAY it was originally a manga from the 90s that got adapted into an anime in the late 90s and then ANOTHER newer anime in 2023 so it’s actually just a broad term for these 3 pieces of media .

This is very general btw and while all adaptations go about it in different ways all of them center around the same plot; humans completely NERFED earth so they sent out these ships in order to find another habitable planet, and this mission is called “project seeds”. Aboard these ships are a bunch of humans put into cold sleep but OBVIOUSLY they can’t survive without resources, so alongside the cold sleep people are these human-made organisms called “Plants” who produce the necessities + more that humans need to survive.

Still with me? Ok So everything’s all fine and dandy, but then suddenly due to an event that I cannot disclose because of spoiler related reasons these ships CRASH on a deserted sandy desolate planet, and the remaining humans are then forced to survive solely off of the remaining plants (since all the technology from the spacefaring age was lost in the crash).

Now that the worldbuilding stuff’s outta the way, the main character is this dude named Vash the Stampede who is constantly being chased and hunted down because of this CRAZY bounty he’s got on his head and this is where . The main themes of Trigun start to shine through. It’s about morality and the lives of other people, about the cycles of abuse that lead to why people do certain things and it dives quite deep into the psychological and philosophical aspects ESPECIALLY since this is like a “kill or be killed” world and the main character ALWAYS chooses NOT to kill, no matter what.

I started out with watching the newest adaptation (Trigun stampede) but there’s no right or wrong order to consume the three medias, so start with whichever one you’d like ,,,, assuming you do want to start watching it, anyway.

Judging from what little i know about ur interests, I think trigun would be more up your alley BUT ALSO chonny jash is so good ESPECIALLY CCCC AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU ENJOY A SMALLER AMOUNT OF CHARACTERS COUGH COUGH COUGH but it's ultimately up to you, this is all assuming you'd wanna delve into anything in the first place. anyway yeah rant over . 👍

ok ive pretty much accepted heart mind and soul are going to lose which is sad ... BUT that means i get to infodump about them. prepare to be jashified, its anti propaganda time. cw for mentions of suicide !

heart mind and soul are characters from chonnys charming chaos compendium, an album by singer songwriter chonny jash. it consists of covers of songs by tally hall and other adjacent musical projects (eg miracle musical). its absolutely INCREDIBLE how he manages to completely twist the meaning and themes behind the songs to make his own story

speaking of which the story of cccc centers around our main trio, and chonny himself. chonny gets split into three parts- the heart (purple blindfold dude) who represents his emotional side, the mind (blue creepy guy) who represents his logical side, and the soul (red mask dude) who has authority over the other two. being natural opposites, heart and mind are constantly fighting. this occasionally leads to violent acts being committed- most notably heart attempting to shoot at mind with a real ass gun (and failing- he shot and he missed !), and heart also getting his eyes stabbed out with a trident (which is why he wears the blindfold). it doesnt help that the soul is also incredibly mentally unstable and suicidal throughout all this but then again all of them are unstable. soul is just more so. so

eventually all of em realize this endless arguing is going nowhere and make up, and become whole again- that is to say, become normal chonny again. but WHOOOOPS if you loop the album youll get hit right in the face with another time machine reprise (a reprise as the very first song of the album is very telling) and realize that they will never truly become whole, because theyre always doomed to keep splitting and coming back together forever, doomed in this endless cycle, locked into eternity. SAD !

all in all its a fantastic story and i really cannot gush enough about how incredible chonnys storytelling and lyricism is. sorry for ranting btw i am very autistic about these weird guys. links to where you can watch/listen are below !

I finally came up with a name for the CCCC au I've been chattering on about recently.

✨The Thought Intensive Au✨

Basically, a version of Kate (the name I gave Whole's love interest) appears in the cabin, due to Whole thinking about her so much. A new room appears, with the name "Thought" on the door, though she prefers to be called Kate.

Soul is the one to greet her, explaining things to her, but ultimately feeling indifferent, if not a bit interested.

There's a bit of tension between her and Mind, due to the fact he calls her Thought, because in his eyes, that's her name.

Kate usually hangs around Heart, both being general menaces and best friends, and eventually more than that.

Oh yeah, and she's secretly suicidal in real life, what could go wrong :DDDDD

Why did I make this? Because there was a character without lOrE, that's why!!!!! Or I'm extremely sleep deprived, that too.

a random headcanon: heart's a very sentimental guy. he has stuff scattered around his room from when they were all kids. teddy bears, badges, whatever you can think of he has in there. he kept wholes comforter when she was like..teeny tiny. if soul didn't get there first, he would've kept that prosthetic i mentioned before. BTW !!!! (obviously) he's blind !!! see no evil!

Morning Star is a CCCC AU i made a bit ago that i've put way too much lore and effort into. i'm HOPING to turn it into a fic at some point so people can actually. yknow. KNOW what the story is about, but my motivation sucks, so we'll see. i don't want to spoil too much for anyone just in case, but i will gladly give you some introductory info!

Soul is Crimson/Savior/a third name i haven't revealed yet [yes he has three names, i couldn't decide on one so i went with all of the above]

Heart is Arche

Mind is Apollyon [but he only gets that name at. like. the VERY end of the story]. he's technically the protagonist, but it could be told from any perspective

the best way i can describe the story without spoiling anything is Soul/Crimson lets his ego get the best of him, and it all goes downhill from there. and then right off of a cliff and into the spiky rocks and crashing waves that await at the bottom. all i'm saying is it gets really bad

it has a lot of religious themes and imagery and all that in it because. it's fun idk

and that rp blog you mentioned is @thybrotherskeeper! it's technically Mind/Apollyon's blog, but Soul/Crimson does make an appearance every now and then. it takes place after the events of the story, so that's currently how i'm telling Morning Star, but the blog itself isn't canon. that just means that any PRESENT interactions with characters are NOT canon, but all PAST events that characters describe ARE canon. if that makes sense

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun Chapter 20: Mitsuba (Part 3)

Previously: the feels came and hit me like a train. Mitsuba’s story was heartbreaking and I wanted nothing more than give him all the nice things he deserves and never got to experience ;; We also had another chapter of Kou being a Very Good Boy ™ and their friendship made me smile so much…...well, until he arrived…...and that happened…….and the angst also hit me like a train. Oh yeah, we also had some great exposition regarding plot-related stuff which made me ask a lot of question (but that’s not new with me lol). Hanako is coming to the scene right now and I’m :)) scared :))))

Now onto the next chapter!

Guess who’s really late again??? I really have no excuse other than me having a really bad attention span (also A3! has taken over my life pls send help)

Anyway!

Oh wow, this cover page has A Lot to disect.. The main thing my eyes were drawn to is Hanako’s expression and the fact that he’s holding the bloodied knife. He looks shocked and sad, and he’s gonna go face his brother (that he killed) and I’m terrified ahhhhh Another thing! The ropes that are tying them together: now, from what I see, the ropes are tying all of them up except for Kou; like, the main connection I always associate with Yashiro and Hanako is their bond, but then the connection between Hanako and Mitsuba is that they’re both dead. It looks like all the ropes are interconnected though and I...I don’t like the implications that my brain is coming up with right now………...Yashiro baby please be safe, okay? Like, it could also mean that Mitsuba is gonna form some sort of bond with Hanako, but let’s be real, what would bring the biggest amount of angst? Exactly. From what I’ve seen so far, the covers have elements that are relevant to the plot and I feel like there’s a lot of things here that could be concerning :))))

Ahhhh okay let’s keep going

So we’re back with Not-Hanako and Kou after Sakura changed Mitsuba’s rumor and turned him into THAT. And you guys remember how I mentioned that it unsettles me when Hanako smiles creepily and his eyes turn dark? Well

I’m incredibly unsettled right now.

Okay so Mitsuba’s wish was too vague for Not-Hanako to turn him into something more than a “half-done supernatural”. He didn’t know what he wanted to do but he knew that he wanted people to remember him. But thanks to Kou, now he knows his actual wish: friends. Mitsuba just wants to stay with his friends and oh, can you hear that???? that’s the sound of my heart breaking (again).

Kou is understadably pissed but Not-Hanako is ignoring him, and he mentions that the more people Mitsuba gets to remember him, the longer he will be able to stay there. And yeah, it checks out with what we know about supernaturals since Tsuchigomori mentioned that it’s easier for him since he can spread his own rumors.

Oh………...oh no………...Mitsuba baby no pls  (;;⚆_⚆)

Yeah, this ties to what he said before about “if that’s enought to break the world then it’s better off broken”. It seems like he just wants everyone to let go of their morals and see where that lead them. Also “the price of this wish is your mind”, does he mean like, his conciousness? his ability to discern right from wrong? Because if he can strip him from that with just his touch (and the rumors) then that’s horrible. Well, I guess that’s what happened with Yako and the Mokke, right? They started killing/stealing/kidnapping people after their rumors changed.

Ahhhhh Hanako is finally here! Oh geez, he cut Mitsuba clean in half ;; But like, he should be fine, right? He also stabbed Yako and she was okay. So Mitsuba should return to his previous form…….right? Please? (;;⚆.⚆)

“Back when you killed me” ………………………...ok so that makes it sound like he pushed Hanako to do it, at least in some way………….those wounds and bruises and…..rope marks…….little Amane had when he was alive really aren’t looking good under this lense, I don’t li k e t h i s

It really looks like he’s just teasing him even though Amane clearly finds the whole event (and even his brother’s mere presence) traumatizing. It’s weird, Tsukasa seems like he’s doing all this on purpose but he also doesn’t realize that it doesn’t make his brother happy. It has the complete opposite effect, in fact. Even the way he’s standing on his tiptoes, it can just be a cute habit but it also makes him tower slightly over Amane.

Sigh okay, he’s gone, thank you. But!!! Kou is calling out to Mitsuba!! Is he okay??

…………………….oh no. His face says it all, he can’t, he wants to but he can’t

(TдT)(TдT)(TдT) this is so fucking sad. This poor child just wanted a happy (after)life with his friends and he tried, he tried so hard, but every time his chances was snuffed out.

Hmmm…...the way that he’s wording this and what he said during the young exorcist arc gives me the idea that he actually doesn’t like being a supernatural, he thinks there’s really no point to existing after death since he doesn’t grow old nor he can pursue his old dreams. But he HAS to do it; he hates it, but he has a mission so that he can repent for his sins, and his sense of obligation is strong enough that he pleaded for his “life” to Teru, knowing that, in his own eyes, he shouldn’t be here in the first place, And he really did thought that Kou could help Mitsuba in a kinder way so that the ghost would be able to pass on happy but it backfired spectacularly. Living on after you die seems like a truly heart-rending existence.

And there’s only the camera left behind…...No, this-this is fine, I’m fine, this is……. (ಥ﹏ಥ)

Oh dear, and now Kou is blaming himself for not being stronger, strong like his brother, strong enough to save Mitsuba. I should have seen it coming, considering we know very well how Kou views his brother as a kind of ideal and, in turn, views himself as not good enough, but it still hurts. And I know it’s because he’s grieving, but he really shouldn’t do this to himself right now.

“I’m pretty sure destruction is the only salvation for the dead.” At first I thought this was a contradiction to what he had said before (about himself) but it really isn’t. He thinks it’s best when the dead are able to disappear from this world, but he doesn’t want salvation for himself, he wants an opportunity to atone. And I wonder if because of that, he sees himself as someone who’s past salvation.

I’m glad that Kou immediately cuts him off and says that’s ridiculous. Because even if Kou is saying it for Mitsuba, I’m pretty sure Hanako also needed to hear that.

Also, it looks like this is the beginning of a very strong grudge against Tsukasa on Kou’s part and I get it but also I’m :))) scared :)))

I mean, I think he’s got a point there. Yeah, the world has rules that the average people can’t change but he has a power not many others (?) have, so him being able to change things in regards to supernaturals doesn’t seem out of the question.
