The reason why I dislike Amy's husband is the same reason why I dislike Danny's brother, they both pretend to be nice guys but turn into awful people at any inconvinience.
The minute Amy refused to lend Paul money he started being disrespectful towards her.
Not the same situation of course, but Amy's husband also pretends to be nice and all, but he was ready to keep their daughter from seeing her mother, just because of relationship issues. Amy was wrong to cheat on him, but it's not a good reason to keep her daughter away from her. And he isn't blameless either going around saying I love you to his wife's employee.
These men are both convinced that they are the "nice ones" at least Danny knows he's not flawless.

BEEF spoilers
While watching the show I remembered reading once that enemies to friends/lovers is such a beloved trope because it shows you people growing to love each other despite seeing eachother at their worst. Amy has been longing for unconditional love her entire life and to then find it it in her friendship with Danny, her nemesis, while they're both lost in the wilderness, injured, high from berry-poisoning, and have both lost just about everything 🤌 just 2 people finding human connection. No money no status no jobs just 2 souls being honest and trying to understand each other

That line when Amy says she hopes that Junie inherits the best parts of George and only the 'salvageable' parts of herself has been haunting me for the past three days
the way she thinks so little of her own redeeming qualities, seeing them only as 'salvageable' just

I love how Amy and Fumi’s relationship is defined by frigid passive aggression and unspoken hostility for the first eight episodes - right up until Amy divorces Fumi’s son, then all of a sudden they’re openly vitriolic in a way that doesn’t negate Fumi’s offers of support. Pretending not to hate things really does make it impossible to move forward.
