How about a abyssal creature reader who was together with foul legacy before child was in the picture and then on day fl disappeared only to come back again and show of his new cool human form to his mate
ooooh this is a really cool idea, i like it!!!
Abyssal creatures mate for life, and it's extremely rare for them to find their mate to begin with, since the Abyss is so harsh and violent. so needless to say when Foul Legacy vanished you were VERY distressed, scouring the area around your nest up and down and forcing yourself to venture out of your territory and beyond. your average strength is made up for by your sheer determination to find your mate, willing to claw the Abyss apart and search it star by dying, weeping star if you have to. years go by with no luck- not that you would know. time is strange in the Abyss- until you happen across a man with ginger hair wandering in a desolate, darkened field- a human! a mortal in the Abyss! immediately you hiss, fur bristling and teeth bared until he hastily raises his hands, the skin scarred and covered in nicks and bruises
"Hey, hey! It's me!"
you growl suspiciously, but then a familiar scent catches your attention, so distant that you've almost forgotten it. you sniff, gingerly- there, there! that's Legacy's scent! your mate! and with a crackle of lightning Foul Legacy is standing before you, chittering and rumbling in utter joy as he tackles you in a bear hug. in no time at all you've both curled around each other, heads pressed together and licking the tears off each other's faces, your sobs particularly prevalent. he tells you everything- how he bonded to a mortal named Ajax, the human you saw; about the upside world, full of sun; how he and Ajax had to tear at the world's seams to find another entrance to the Abyss to find you again. you don't mind, do you? Ajax is a part of him now, just as Legacy is now a facet of Ajax, and your mate pushes his face into your fur with a soft whine of apology. you simply pull him close, nestling down with a wide yawn, showing all of your teeth, and Legacy is quick to snuggle next to you and start purring, just as soothing as steady as you remember. it's the first full period of sleep you've had in years- your time before consumed with your search for Foul Legacy, and the warmth from the pile you've made with him seeps into your exhausted bones
when you wake up, though, Legacy is gone and Ajax sits in your arms instead, looking so small and fragile. he glances up at you, eyes the color of the deep sea, and gives you a slightly crooked smile
well. he's part of Foul Legacy, and you love all of Foul Legacy. your claws begin delicately combing Ajax's copper hair, your purring kicking in when you hear him let out a joyfully surprised laugh, his own hands coming up to give your fur the very same treatment

Lightning, water, and fire! Like forever before the plot starts. By the time the plot starts, the lightning and fire deities have been subjected to punishment by the two gods that picked them.
Oh (the fire deity) is first to be punished. They basically decide that since they're going to live for a long time, gotta set some long time goals! And they opt to be the wrath of the gods since most of the other deities are too 'soft' in their opinion. So Oh just. Smites humans. This isn't really a /good/ thing and in their defense mentally, they do it to help Ymber since he's the softest of them all. So their punishment by the gods is to be split in two, effectively halving the power of one into two. (Now they are in a male and a female body and use both male and female pronouns apart since they together make they but apart it feels weird to be they. But prior to the split they use they/them. Also the split bodies go by the names Ohiwe and Ohime.)
Fulj is the second to be punished. She falls in love with a mortal woman and that is a crime according to the gods. Mortals and immortals are not to be together and it will only bring suffering to both sides. So her punishment is her memories of the woman are stripped and her body basically broken to the point she can't remain physical all the time.
Ymber, unfortunately, is the one who blames himself for the discoveries and punishments. If he had only tried to restrain Oh more then maybe they would have chilled out and stopped before being punished. If he had only tried to persuade Fulj to not continue seeing the mortal woman so often perhaps she wouldn't have been punished. So he's just increasing the guilt on his shoulders every day that he remains unpunished since the elder gods have both laid down to rest. They can't enforce their laws anymore and none of the deities are keen on harming one another at this point. They just want to continue existing in peace.

sleepy eepy
hero slumped down on their bed, groaning as they searched for the motivation to dress their wounds and silence their growling stomach. still in their uniform; covered in dirt, blood, and sweat; they trudged through the apartment, grabbing their first-aid kit before returning to their room.
-
once they stepped under the warm water, the tension in their shoulders seemed to float away along with the steam. they felt so nice, so safe, just feeling the water wash the filth away.
maybe if they hadn't let their guard down, they would've noticed the crash coming from the lounge room.
hero threw on clean clothes before cleaning their wounds, barely wincing as the alcohol made contact with their flesh. they covered their injuries. scarfed down whatever was left in their pantry, and practically fell into bed.
...
"hello,"
hero fell to the floor in a mess of blankets, their scream muffled by the thick fabric immobilizing them. they struggled out of their warm and cozy confines and stumbled to their feet, trying to look as menacing as possible as they faced the intruder, and-
of course.
“what the fuck are you doing here”
villain, still trying to hold in their giggles, took a step into the room. in response, their enemy took two frantic steps back.
“just popping in to say hi~”
“hello to you too. now get out,”
the villain scoffed, pouting at their nemesis.
“y’know, for a ‘good guy’, you can be awfully rude.”
hero huffed, trying to keep their composure. “maybe I’d be a bit nicer if you weren’t breaking and entering right now,”
“you're so-”
“i won’t hesitate to call HQ.” hero rolled their eyes at villain’s offended expression, who didn’t miss the yawn that slipped past their lips.
now that they had noticed hero’s first sign of sleepiness, the others became increasingly apparent. their eyes were dark, eyelids fluttering as if they were struggling to stay open. their shoulders were dropped, making no effort to hold the usual big and scary stance for their enemy.
they looked… done. they just looked done with it all.
villain opened and closed their mouth a few times, wanting to ask if they were okay. just so they were aware of any weaknesses. that was all. they weren’t concerned, how could they be concerned for their arch nemesis?
“are you going to leave now?” villain’s gaze shot upwards, catching the other’s, who looked just about ready to pass out on the spot.
they recovered from their little moment of vulnerability within seconds, letting their usual smug expression wash over their face.
“yes, actually! enjoy your evening, hero,”
and with that, they left, shutting the door and climbing out of the window they came in through.
only halfway through their sprint back to base did villain remember their actual mission: stealing a folder full of classified information unnoticed. cursing under their breath, they considered going back, but they’d probably wake hero up. which was bad because they’d get caught, obviously. no other reason.
that night, as supervillain berated them, all villain could say was that they’d go back and try again. and if the next time didn’t work, they’d try again. and again. and even if they completed the mission, maybe it would be good to have someone keeping an eye on the hero! just to know if anything suspicious happened. and maybe to make sure that their enemy was okay.
