It does matter! And that’s because 1) the society treats them differently and 2) their personality for either counterpart cultivated from how people treated them in the past. It’s a two way street situation. Simple as it may sound, it is also because of their race/species/social status

I will talk about each of the ROs more in upcoming teasers. But for now

From strikingly different to almost the same;

Vegaris

F!Vegaris and M!Vegaris are smh almost two separated beings—That is because their position as an Alter and how they perceive things growing up in the society where most Alters are viewed as another class of creatures. The way they carry themselves is different. Female Vegaris can be a bit more carefree, especially around you. But Male Vegaris will be on-guard and rarely relax himself around other people. There’s a reason why both behave the way they do. And yes, I cannot say yet bc it’s major spoiler.

Sandalphon

First of all, the reason why both Sandals are so much different in their manners, their behaviors (mostly internal turmoils) is because their different positions as one’s mother and one’s father.

F!Sandalphon will always be judged upon if she shows any emotions towards people esp her kid, being a single-mom in the parliament full of men is not easy. Her opinions often taken as less valid just because of her role as a guardian and a mother. She wants to spend a lot of time with D but couldn’t—if she does, it will allow people to criticize her as fragile. Being a mother without a partner already tainted her image as a failure so she couldn’t afford to do that.

Overall, F!Sandal is more on edge than her counterpart. Hence, whenever she’s near you (and if you do choose your sex as a female) she looks way more relaxed and true to herself.

M!Sandalphon thinks he has to be there for his kid, but because of his duty as a Dean of Regency, he tends to suppress himself from doing things that’s not aligned w his duties (like showing that he cares when it’s not that necessary) and against his public image. He may look like a cold father to D and can appear to be a bit distant to others, but he will always have soft spot for you. Since you’re forbidden to leave your own place, he always does things that he couldn’t do with D to you (just like his counterpart-self), and you may take it like he is smh trying to redeem himself through you.

M!Sandal is a bit harder to read since he is so consumed by social standards that were forced upon himself that he looks like he has lost himself along the way. But he is more calm when it comes to D’s matters while F!Sandal will be a bit more protective and upfront.

In conclusion, both of Sandalphon really needs a warm hug. But they just don’t know that they do.

Dana/Darren

Just like the other two, Dana will behave a bit more careful and collected meanwhile Darren radiates with perfectly built (but also glass-like) confidence because of social norms on their respective gender.

Dana’s list of groom candidates exhaust her but she cannot let it get her. Meanwhile she is not allowed to act like she doesn’t care either so it’s hard to place herself in a position where she would be neither considered as ‘too emotional’—nor ‘not rigid enough for a Dean’s daughter’. So once she’s granted the official permission with her Chosen husband-to-be, she behaves accordingly to her part and now projecting more confident than she ever was. She has a lifeline to grasp now. And she couldn’t afford to fail like her mother/father.

Darren is not that different in that regard, he was just forced to hide that he is afraid of what came after, internally speaking he is even more unstable than his counterpart because he never learnt to deal with not being ‘the Face’ of Stargazer community unlike Dana who suspected that she will need to face the reality of not living up to your own name ever since she was a girl due to her parent’s reputation. But both are equally acting on a role that does not fit themselves, and always working hard to protect their image.

It seems like I can more about the latter two because it was expected from their intro descriptions. But Vegaris is… I can’t really say anything before the demo is dropped. So sorry, Anon!!

AAAAAAAA I NEED TO TALK ABT THE NEW EP-

I didn’t think the ep would give me something to talk about so quickly (I’m only just putting this post out now bc I had to get my thoughts in order) but this episode gave the Collector a whole new layer to their character and aaaaaaa I need to talk about it! They’ve further expanded this character’s status as a foil to both King (via the new Collector species) and Luz (via the Collector reliving her adventures as well as his use of character-trope-y terms when describing Eda). They’ve got DUALITY just like I’ve been sayiiinnnng! And we can finally see more of what Dana meant when she called him morally grey!

First of all, the Collector is ah. very messed up - no fault of their own, though. He’s a god raised by a collective who (from what can be gleaned from this ep) view and treat mortals more like servants or items than people. Then he was under the thrall of Belos - and while he clearly wasn’t solely responsible for twisting the Collector’s morals, it definitely couldn’t have helped to be around someone who didn’t view anyone currently around him as people.

Now though, through their interactions w/ their first good influence in King, we see the more “good” aspects of them shining through - ones that kinda conflict with what they were taught. On one hand, they’re oblivious to the level of fear they cause, but on the other, he’s vehemently opposed to the idea of actually hurting people (Titans at the very least). On one hand, he has no qualms about and sees no issue with turning people into living puppets, but on the other, their interactions with François tell us that he does have some sense of boundaries. Granted, there’s a high likelihood that, where they are right now, he’d only be this caring and considerate to Titans (who are only like. a few steps below the Collectors), but the capacity’s still there.

The biggest difference between him and the rest of their kind, though, is that he’s a child - a deeply traumatized child. We don’t know much about what they’ve been through (yet), but it’s clearly left one hell of a mark. I’d also like to refer to a previous post, where I mentioned that them being a child/having that sense of malleability and innocence is a double-edged sword. It’s the thing that means they see (almost) no issue with how the others taught him to think and act - but it also might be the thing that allows him room for their mind to be changed, for him to be shown the error of their ways and what they’ve been taught. And I really want to see how that plays out - how those little good-aspect-seeds might grow, how he might grow because gggrrrggggrfhgf they’re such an inTERESTING CHARACTER-

i don't think they're the types for pet names in general, although does trahearne's lyss count as a pet name if it's a nickname only he uses? they both laugh at baby, sweetheart, darling (though she doesn't mind dear heart.)

one thing i will say is that when she's domming, nyra doesn't like any titles used for her. she has enough of them in her job already. she doesn't need another for when she's having sex.

13. Morning vs evening sex—do they have a preference?

she's whatever about the time, but he prefers morning sex before he gets to work because he does work a lot still, only not in pact business. although, there is something about early evening horny things in billiard rooms for nyra, and has been ever since she was a teen and had her first sexual experiences.

15. Describe their favorite sexual encounter.

for trahearne, it's their first time having sex after zhaitan fell, where the airship crew of the glory of tyria cleared the top floor just for them to do it and everyone else was like... 'sure.' for nyra, it's when they had sex for the first time after their reunion in the eye of the north during icebrood saga, when she was injured by bangar's arrow.

el calls liv daddy when he's subbing, and he himself prefers sir when he's domming. granted, he doesn't sub for anyone but liv, but like. it's what he likes. on his end, liv accepts daddy willingly, has grown to be quite turned on by it, and just doesn't do any insults whatsoever for himself or his partner. he's a soft dom.

7. Are they into (consensual) pain during sex? Either giving or receiving

girl,, el is one kinky mofo, you bet he's into pain,,, i wouldn't call him a masochist, but he does like his sex to err on the side of pain. liv isn't, but painplay isn't huge for el, so he doesn't really need it to get off. he also prefers receiving pain to giving it, but he just likes the sensation of it.

11. Are they attracted to anyone (specific person or just negative qualities) they really shouldn’t be?

liv: was attracted to rytlock, who is of a much higher station and also his half-sister's on and off boyfriend. he's also the uncle to a cub of rytlock's, by his sister dana. that being said, he's also attracted to domineering personalities, for better or for worse.

el: the whole thing with cadeyrn is the one that sticks out, bc they were just so bad for each other, and ended with el slitting cadeyrn's throat, so like,,, does this count?

22. Favorite thing/part about sex—intimacy, role-playing, etc.

liv: intimacy, for sure. he likes the softness it allows him to show his partners, and he loves making people feel good and feel loved, and in return, he feels good too! he's a service top :)

el: experimentation. like many things in life, sex is new ways of discovering the world, and much less offensive one than live experimentation. he has such fun with sex, has few things he isn't willing to try, and it's just another way for him to flex his curiosity muscles for sure :>

Ok Suresh Girlies 💖 as promised here's what you can expect from Episodes 30 Spoilers under the cut...31 and 32 will be dropping ASAP

Ep 30...starts where we left off at recoupling and you need to decided where you will stick or switch with Alfie. I chose to stick and he walks out with MEERA. But the game literally doesn't care about the rules 🙄 and you have to pick a casa boy...I chose Nicolas...so just choose a casa boy from the start to save yourself the shame. Kat and Finn both decided to stick.

Eddie and Johnny are sent home. Eddie goes out Lexi style and is suuuuuupppppper pissed at Dana

The girls assemble for a debrief....LITERALLY WHY??? LET ME TALK TO SURESH...honestly this whole convo makes no sense. Gabi puts her foot in it and tells Lulu not to worry about him so shes def after him. LULU FUCKING SAYS SHE HAS SOMETHING REAL WITH SURESH....IM FUCKING LIVID

actually this scenario would have to have all of the nonhumans (aside from sam) kept away because otherwise they would be way too into eating the humans and there wouldn't even be a debate. they'd just pick a person and go to town. the extra funny part being that it would take weeks before a spirit would get to that starving desperation level versus how quickly a human would

mark probably gets killed and eaten first just for being so damn annoying and no one wants to deal with a mindreader when they're all stuck in Dark Thought town, anyway. if brynja is there, she probably kills everyone else in a fit of rage. if brynja is not there, she will kill everyone else in a fit of rage later.

man this could get really fucked up really fast if megan was there; they really could just start carving hunks and limbs off of each other and just heal the wound to stop death. good ending, maybe? or more horrifying? (mark probably still gets killed for being so damn annoying.)

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways

Art styles that rely heavily on linework, or a solid ink kinda style, are SUPER cool. My usual style is 'glob of colors exploded haphazardly onto the canvas' so anything involving a lot of tiny detail ESPECIALLY with the lines makes me go heart eyes. I also really enjoy cartoony, exaggerated styles. I love love love super stylized facial expressions, they're SO fun.

Some examples of artists/artwork I really like and am inspired from:

Niccillustrates has a beautiful style that features solid, largely unshaded colors and gorgeous linework/inking, which is most obvious in their Undertale fan art. Seems like they've taken down a lot of their older stuff which is a shame, this piece is one of my absolute all time favorite inspirations of mine. The little lines in everything, especially the flowers...AGH!!! Here's a more recent work! The contrast is gorgeous and I adore the shapes in this so much.

Retroautomaton's art has this overall pleasantness and smoothness to it that makes me feel like I'm drinking a milkshake, but like in visual form. Here's a few pieces I especially like. The fluidity and sense of movement in the lines/figures along with the bright, poppy colors is just!!! so lovely!!!!

ArtsyDudeJude's pieces are so EXPRESSIVE!!! The way he really pushes facial expressions in particular is super inspiring - all his original character design stuff in general is tbh. I look at linework like his and go. man I couldn't do that but it looks SO GOOD. Here's some of my favorites!

Last one I swear but I wanna mention my pal Dana, RedEyesRetroDragon on here! The way she stylizes characters is SO fun and dynamic I love it a lot. I don't know barely a thing about ygo BUT I care these guys bc of Dana's art. PLUS her inking!!!! Holy woah! LOOK AT THIS PIECE!!! AND THIS ONE!!

30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated?

Hmm this is hard! Usually when I get reception on my art it's really kind and lovely and when I don't, I generally chalk it up to people just not being online/not seeing it at that time so I don't worry too much about it.

I suppose...since I draw a lot of fanart, it's easier for my original stuff to sort of slip by the wayside. So I'll use this one as an opportunity to gush a bit about this piece I did a little while ago!

People have left some really kind and sweet comments on it so I can't say it's underrated but it is my favorite original piece I've ever done. I felt clever about the caption because you can see it a few different ways - maybe 'taking form' refers to the canvas, reaching out and taking over the person. Or maybe the person is reaching IN, merging with the painting. Maybe the painting isn't taking form as in stealing, but taking form as in manifesting itself a human body. The possibilities are endless! Also I like the silly goofy expression here <3

OH AND WHILE I'M HERE. This piece is also not underrated but this was pretty cool too.

7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate

SO MANY!!!!! But the first one that comes to mind is photography! Photography is so cool and fascinating and while I don't think I could ever get /super/ into it, I have a huge amount of respect and admiration for the craft! A good photograph is SOOO satisfying to look at, like it's literally the art of composition and lighting!! How cool is that??

ALSO music!!! Gah I want to make my own music so badly!!! But there's SO MANY building blocks I'm finding it kind of difficult to learn. That said I have such an appreciation for people who make songs and sounds and things!! OH AND SOUND EFFECTS. EDITING. THAT'S AN ART TOO AND I LOVE IT.

Production work in general!!! To me it's art and it's beautiful and I want to be a part of it. If I could have any job in the world no questions asked, I would want to work in stage lighting. Concerts, theatre, idc, that kinda work is right up my alley. There's just something I adore about like, all the little details that go into making a production work that most people don't think about or notice because it's designed not to be noticed, but people still worked on it!!! People still put their time and effort and craftsmanship into it! <3 <3 <3

What would your OC's daemon be? When would it settle? What would their relationship with it be?

Inspired by this post, and a prompt from our discord. Also, a lot of these are birds bc of our discussion about elves and mages getting bird daemons to symbolize freedom.

Venissa Tabris: Based on our discussion about bird daemons for elves, I’d say that she’d be a blue jay for their size, distinctive appearance, intelligence, tight family bonds, and protectiveness. However, I actually think a weasel fits her more, as they are depicted as either tricksters or heroes, and are associated with brides and bad luck on wedding days. It would have settled sometime in her teens, and she’d be very attached to it, often having it slink around her neck like a scarf. I headcanon alienage elves to have smaller daemons, so they draw less attention to themselves.

Danaë Mahariel: Danae would be a northern goshawk, which live in forests, preferring to avoid civilization, and are very defensive of their nests, attacking anyone who comes too close. It would have settled the day she brought back her first kill as a hunter, and she’d use it to scout and hunt alongside her, like the ranger specialization.

Anuriel Surana: If I had to choose a bird, I think Anuriel would be a greater blue-eared starling for its colourations and her habit of adopting random children, but I actually think she’s better suited for a snake. Snakes are associated with change, healing, and rebirth, though they tend to get a bad rep in media. Specifically, I think her daemon would be a type of cobra, as they’re venomous and protective. It would have fluctuated a lot but settled relatively young (just before she was taken to the circle), and she’d be mostly indifferent to its presence—might even be able to separate from it, which would only cause people to be more unnerved by her. She’d probably name him Asclepius, and he would be very similar to her in personality—appearing aloof but secretly caring deeply.

Belath Lavellan: Her daemon would be a Harris’s hawk, otherwise known as a wolf hawk (ironic considering her romance). These birds hunt in packs and have been known to care for injured pack mates by providing them with food. Her daemon would have settled just before or after she got her vallaslin. Her daemon would be a lot more impulsive and vitriolic than she is, giving voice to the things she keeps under the surface.

Elgaras Lavellan: I knew what his daemon would be right away: a bright and beautifully flamboyant peacock. Similarly, it probably would have settled remarkably early, and they’d play off of each other with snark and friendly barbs. Because it’s the male peacock that is more colourful, they would be one of the few pairs that share the same gender.

Garavel Lavellan: Garavel’s daemon would be a proud and regal tigress. While he’s a bit of a standoffish spitfire, she’d be much calmer by comparison, showing that it’s mostly bluster—granted, if you actually threaten something they care about, you’ll be dead before you know it. She would have chosen a main form when he was still very young, though would have maintained the ability to switch for awhile afterward. While together they are both very intimidating, she actually treats him more like her cub than anything.

Valda Brosca: Valda’s daemon would be a honey badger; mostly solitary and territorial, capable of fighting off much bigger threats in defence of its home. Valda and her daemon would be very close, as one of the very few people they could fully trust while in dust town. It would have settled after her first big fight, where she proved her worth to Beraht.

Aurelia Aeducan: Her daemon would be a golden lion tamarin monkey. Very bubbly and social, but with an undertone of manipulation and competitiveness. It would have settled around her early teens, just as she was truly coming into her own as a princess of Orzammar. They act as a unit, barely needing to communicate to be on the same agenda.

Berenike Aeducan: Sereda’s daemon would be a Komodo dragon, an intimidating, cold blooded hunter with a venomous bite. Her daemon would actually have settled relatively late, and their relationship is strained in a way that indicates deeper personal issues. Especially near the end of the blight they started fighting more, ending in stony silence the night before the final battle.

Leonie Amell: Leonie would have a dove, as a symbol of peace, hope, love, freedom—and grief. It would have settled after she was taken to Kinloch Hold, and she’d be both very fond of it and resentful of its inherent freedom.

Eileen Cousland: Changed my mind, Eileen’s daemon would be a spotted hyena. Spotted hyenas are hardy, and fierce defenders who are very family oriented. It also occupies a bit of a middle ground between cats and dogs, and hints at her more cunning and ambitious side. It would have fluctuated a lot as a child, started preferring a hyena by the time she was 10, and fully settled by 13. While Eileen has gotten better at hiding her tells, her daemon is more emotive and has a shorter temper, making people wary of offending them.

Audrey Hawke: I think Audrey would be a Saint Bernard, because they’re very helpful, gentle and affectionate, and a people pleaser. They’re also known to aid lost travellers, which fits into Audrey’s need to help everyone she comes across. Despite their gentle nature, they’re very protective and have a warning bark that leaves no room for nonsense. It would have settled early as a child, and is actually much more tactile than most daemons.

Rhona Hawke: Her daemon would be a toucan, just as proud and boisterous as she is. A bit of an impulsive show off with a quick temper, they’re just as passionate when they’re happy as when they’re mad. It would have settled after her first burst of magic as a child, and while Rhona herself is very blunt, her daemon has picked up a bit of tact to try and smooth over any ruffled feathers.

😭 CRYING - what makes them cry? do they cry easily?

They cry rarely. Partly because Dana has a "bad connection" with their feelings as in...they simply don't understand how they feel most of the time and doesn't deal with them early enough. That then leads to piled up emotions which is...not healthy, to be honest. They also prefer to do it in private, because they have an unhealthy mindset about not showing weakness. They also claim that they rarely cry bc it would ruin their eyeliner they had carefully drawn (they suck at makeup ngl)

Usually the reason why they cry is their job. Being (half unwillingly) chosen as the general of a new defence force squad already sounds like a hard job, and along with that come the awful bosses who don't really care about losses (bc most of the squad members are robots created exactly for this task) nor ethics, and who also love to push poor Dana to their limits (and over). It ain't easy, but it's worth it (a lie).

The second reason are the bottled-up emotions they're bad at taking care of. But usually it's both of these mixed together. There are other reasons too, but those are the most important ones.

Once resurrected in a robot body, she actually jokes about one of the best things of it is that crying is not an available function in this body. Bold of her to assume that makes her life better somehow.

🎂 BIRTHDAY CAKE - when is their birthday? do they like celebrating it?

To be honest I haven't chosen the date yet lol Might as well do it now! hmmm let's go with 10th of August 🤔

She's not into big parties, and instead prefers to have a very little party (or no party). She's kinda indifferent about it, but likes the gifts :)

I already mentioned it in the first one but...the vulnerable side (tm). Dana wants to be known for their achievements, their personality, they've done to help the world or what ideas do they have. And they're scared that acting like a normal person with bad days will stop people from seeing what they've done, and instead they will only be known for breakdowns and feeling bad over something. Good thing is that they Do Get Better at seeing vulnerability as a good thing and get a healthier life style (it only lasts a little but hey, it's still something ;) )

⚾ BASEBALL - can they play sports? what is their best position if they play a team sport? what's their strong suit (speed, power etc.)?

Dana likes playing badminton. She and Amal often played together as a way to procrastinate school/university tasks, and continued to play it once in a while in the working life, though more rarely than when they were studying.

She's also a bit into floorball, and always chooses to be a goalkeeper :3

OH AND Dana also does yoga sometimes bc their work would create them even more pain if they didn't do stretches. Though because of the work schedule they have, they usually do yoga sometime around 3AM 🥲

❇️ SPARKLE - what is their most prized possession? what do they value?

Their coffee cup. It was gifted to them by their parents, and Dana has used it ever since. It's beige and has pomegranates drawn on it.

Also their phone bc it has all the contacts they need in their life AND bc they value all the articles/book pdfs/other knowledge things they keep there and don't want to lose them.

🚆 TRAIN - what is their answer to the trolley problem?

Shut it's power source down so it stops. Throw rocks on the rails. Switch the rails to the one person part in case it won't work & run as fast as you can to untie them bc trams are Slow.

🌟 GLOWING STAR - what do they think about when they look at the night sky? is there someone they want to star gaze with?

In childhood it would be something like:

"So many planets, people and things to do out there! I wish I could travel more often, just to feel like I'm somehow a part of this universe."

Meanwhile as an adult:

"From all the star systems and planets that exist, hell, even the ones that we can see, and all of the living beings that live there, it's kinda weird to be the person who has so much they could do to affect the future of this sector of the galaxy. Winning a local lottery worth of 50 dollars would definitely feel better. I'm so tired."

She rarely star gazes in the literal way, because she simply doesn't have time to sit on a meadow and look at the sky. She does love looking out of the window of the spaceship just to see how beautiful space is.

Quality time 🥰 Their ideal moment spent with a loved one is cuddling on a couch or a bed while reading something, and/or talking with each other about life and random topics that come to their mind. Philosophical conversations are a bonus.

So there was a lot about this episode I didn't really like as always. But I loved Hope hunting down and killing Triad. We got Klaus ex Aurora coming after Hope for revenge on Klaus(also how didn't Freya know that she was gone? Or that someone broke into her home to get her?). I can't believe the swaped bodies. And that scene with Alaric and Landon in Hopes room 💔💔💔😭😭😭 I just... it hurt. And lastly all those Handon crumbs we got. Landon fighting to get back to Hope. Landon going to Hopes room and holding their picture when everything got to be too much for him(but I also love how both Hope and Landon goes to each other rooms when they're feeling down bc just being surround by their stuff/memories brings them comfort) I think there might but other little crumbs but I'm not sure. But also im glad that they're also showing Landon react to his trauma and how he's feeling about everything. Even if it's in a tiny way. Bc he was the only one acting realistic about being dead/in limbo.

P.S Alaric really made me so mad(as usually) about he didn't care or regret anything he's done. And how he was really gonna steal Danas mom coin which would have stop her from going to peace just so he can go back himself 😡

Me too, at least it was better than the last episode though. I loved the bits with Hope as well! And Aurora! 😱 I know people had thought the woman on the phone was her, and I had also thought it sounded like her, but thought “nah, that’s not gonna happen.” So I was really surprised it actually ended up being true. I just hope they don’t screw this up because I’ve been hoping to see her on the show for a long time but never thought it would happen. And seriously though! How did Freya or none of the Mikaelsons not know that she was gone? Is no one living at the compound anymore? You’d still think they would’ve found out though. And the fact that Hope didn’t know who she was at first and then was like “oh wait, I think I do remember you.” Like she was telling Roman about her only like 4 years ago, how’d she not immediately know who she was? I didn’t like them swapping bodies though, idk why they chose to do that or where they’re going with it. And the scene with Landon in Hope’s room was my favorite! 😭 We did get some good Handon crumbs from that scene! With the picture, him wanting to find his way back to her, which parallels 1x09 and basically what he’s been doing since last season too. I love that they go to each other’s rooms too! I love it when they add in little details and parallels like that. 🥺 I’m also glad they were showing Landon react to his trauma a little bit and had him actually expressing himself a little too, even though it’s still nowhere near enough. I just hope we get a lot more moments like that. And exactly, it was actually realistic how he was acting! He seemed like he was about to cry. 😭

Yeah, the whole thing with Alaric was annoying and him trying to steal Dana’s mom’s coin? Wow. But also, why even bring back Dana’s mom and have her dead? Of all the characters, so random... Though I will say that I’m glad that Alaric realized that it was Landon that he needed to apologize to. That he actually recognized that Landon being at the school hurt him and that he gave up everything. Like someone besides Hope actually acknowledged Landon’s sacrifice. And he actually said that he was sorry and then tried to comfort Landon and hugged him, it’s about time. So I was glad about that at least.

Reading wayyyyy too much into media is my pastime so here are some more incoherent thoughts. None of this makes any sense because I’ve lost all perspective lol

The thing that make my tiny brain go feral about season two Jo and Brad’s relationship progression is : WHAT IS IN IT FOR BRAD? Or :WHY DOES HE CARE ABOUT JO SO MUCH? (long ass post below)

Like throughout the season, Brad encourages Jo several times, even reassuring her she would be a shark one day(before all went haywire and he called her a bottom feeder of course), gives her advises and surmountable missions to help her grow and for what? I love Jo but objectively she was just some assistant that had turned on him at the first sign of his perceived weakness, betrayed him for his worst enemy, and revealed his vulnerabilities in front of the whole team. So what was Brad thinking, in mentoring her and going to freaking jail for her?

At Please Sign Here, we are given two explanations (by Jo) about Brad’s motivation for taking in Jo as his protege ; as for almost every thing that Brad does, one selfish and one altruistic. The selfish explanation is that Brad had to pull Jo close and surveillance her because he was secretly scared of her potential. The second one, the altruistic explanation is that Brad felt sorry for Jo working in a dead-end Job for David, who has neither competence nor ambition, anything Jo could learn from to become more powerful.

But those two explanations do NOT hold the same weight, because the first explanation does not make much sense. If Brad himself had not encouraged her, she might have given up on “becoming a shark” and thus undermining him long ago bc, as brutal and savage she might seem, we know that Jo has fragile self-worth as given a glimpse at grouchy goat. Besides, what could Brad have seen in Jo that scared him, when he worked at a completely different department?

Secondly, and even more importantly, who the hell goes to the jail for a coworker? Hell, most people wouldn’t even bite that big of a bullet for a family member. Sure he did it for “street cred” but we all know that’s bullshit, or at least less than half of a truth, because if he just wanted to get jailed he could’ve committed the crime himself anytime. Plus that little smile Jo and Brad exchanged tells everything. Brad probably did think he was getting something out of it, but not a little part was done for Jo. Why did he do it? Why did he go to a jail for some coworker that he neither owes any favors nor could receive any in the near future?

My theory is that Brad saw himself in Jo, and that made him want to help her and believe in her. On the surface level those two are already pretty similar ; Brad and Jo both (generally) lack empathy and are goal-focused rather than people focused, are brutal and cruel at times, don’t care for social niceties and don’t hesitate to play dirty if needed, etc ; all traits that are scorned by all others in the office but admired by them.

But - here’s the thing that I think is actually more important- moreover, they are the only ones that understood each other’s “weak” or “soft” side. In Grouchy Goat and YumYum, we find out that Jo breaks down and talks down to herself whenever she fails at a given task or is demeaned by someone(Dana and Rachel, rightfully, telling her off). In breaking Brad, we find out the same thing about Brad. Brad is somewhat better at keeping the breakdowns to himself while Jo , more inexperienced and more unstable, has those episodes with other people - cw, Dana, Rachel - in the hearing range. This doesn’t have any canon ground but I think we can speculate that either Brad saw Jo in one of those states or somehow guessed it. I think seeing Jo with those weaknesses had possibly endeared Jo to Brad, maybe at a subconscious level. I think Brad truly wanted Jo to succeed, by not letting her go to prison without even getting to use her skills that she learned under Brad.

On the other hand, when Jo found out that her mentor at the time had the same weakness as herself in Breaking Brad, I think she had ended up despising him instead. I think that is because she saw the part of her that she hated in brad. People with low self-esteem often idolizes someone, then when they inevitably finds out that someone was not what they expected, projects the their self-hate and ends up hating them. I think that phenomenon is what explains the heel-face turn of “Mr. Bakshi isn’t insecure of anything. He’s the best mentor I’ve ever had” to “not sure what I can learn from a mouse”.

Luz Noceda - Canon Luz. You know her, you love her. Age 14

Laia Noceda - Pilot Luz: Just as weird as Luz but a bit more laid back and shy. Doesn’t like putting herself out there quite as much as Luz, but gets dragged into her schemes a lot. Huge nerdy bookworm but perfectly capable of being flirty. Actually pretty confident with Anna. Too precious for this world. Is babey. Sits back and observes her sisters antics bc she's actually got a little sense. Age 13

Amelia Blight - Beta Amity: Cold but F E R A L. Doesn't even try to be the little miss perfect anymore but will pretend in front of parents. C H A R I S M A. Will fuck you up. Sorta pyromaniac but not like crazy, just good w/ fire magic and feels calm when she watches flames. Will burn you to ash if you hurt Amity or Anna. Rolls eyes at the twins antics. “You were going to do WHAT with Amity’s diary!?” Lotta internalized shit from her treatment by her parents. THIS CLOSE to burning down Blight manor. “If I have zero friends nobody can hurt me”. Lucia really throws a wrench in that plan. Toooootally not madly in love with Lucia. Natural greenhead but constantly dyes her roots brown as a form of small rebellion and solidarity with Amity and Anna. Age 17

Edric Blight - Canon Edric: You know him. Age 16

Emira Blight - Canon Emira: You know her. Age 16

Amity Blight - Canon Amity: Our girl! Age 14

Anna Blight - pilot Amity: Is babey. Loves books. Shy and tries to stick silently to the background. Just so sweet and precious. PROTECC HER. Tries to do the right thing. Like, ALL her siblings do their best to protect her from her parents. Not good with people at all. Age 13.

Winona Park - Beta Willow: You've seen Dana’s drawing of her. This shady bitch. She knows all your secrets. She will use them against you. Likes a little trouble but doesn't get caught. Ever. By the time you figure out what rule she broke she's already won the game. Don't. Touch. Willow. T R O U B L E. Loner until Lucia came along. Just does not care about anything. Doesn't even try in school but is still almost as good as Amelia. Not quite as powerful as Willow but still powerful. “What happens if I press this button.” Age 17

Willow Park - Canon Willow: You know her, stronk cinnamon roll. Age 14

Gus Porter - Canon Gus: Boy needs more character development. Age 12

(Story might not go quite like I'm describing it here but it's pretty close.)

Eda was going to eat King when they first met, they tell it like it's just some cute story.

Camilia was going to send both Luz and Laia to normal-person-camp but didn’t even try with Lucia bc she's clearly a lost cause. Lucia waited for the bus with them though, and she and Laia both followed Luz through the portal. Luz was the one who decided to stay on the isles, Laia just agreed bc she also hated the idea of camp, and being a witch sounded fun. Lucia agreed bc “well I'm not leaving my fucking siblings in another dimension on their own” but also was jumping up and down inside at the idea of being a witch.

Lucia and Laia were just vibing at the owl house during Witches Before Wizards because nobody told them shit.

Luz and Laia both went to the school in I Was a Teenage Abomination, Lucia didn’t bc “school? Why would I willingly go to school?” so she wandered off to town to do GOD knows what. Laia just hid in the bottom of the pot, but wandered off, Anna helped save her and get her out in the end. Later, at the covention, Laia gave Anna the “thanks pal” drawing.

Luz and Laia were both captivated by Eda’s magic lesson in Intrudor, Lucia was just hanging back with her arms crossed like she didn't care but inside she was going “I'm gonna be a witch! I'm gonna be a witch!”. Luz discovered the light glyph but Lucia came up with the idea of sticking it on the wall.

At the covention, Lucia saw Amelia and was actually gonna go over and be flirty bc Hot Witch Girl, but then she overheard her talking to Amity about her fighting Luz and instantly big sister mode. They got into a fist fight out back over “my sister’s better than yours.” their relationship after that is just Lucia constantly antagonizing Amelia and almost getting burned. Anna just stayed by the sidelines at the covention and Laia didn't see her until the very end, talked a bit and gave her the drawing b4 being dragged out by Eda.

Laia helped w/ the moonlight conjuring, but Lucia heard "night market" and sneaked off there. She didn't see Eda'z predicament but did run into Winona, who was making trouble and just being generally shady. Lucia helped her out with the shady business because why not and they were instantly friends, their friendship has a lot of Lucia going “you scare me sometimes.”

Laia went to the Library with Luz, she saw Anna just hanging out reading in the corner and immediately went over and sat by her. They were in Amity’s hideout sitting real close reading when Luz and the twins walked in, they left immediately, Anna red as a tomato.

The second Eda said body swap Lucia scooped Laia up and noped on out. It sounded fun to Lucia but for some reason she didn't feel comfortable subjecting Laia to that.

Laia and Lucia went with Eda when she talked to Bump abt enrolling them and just sat back and watched Eda clean up all her messes. Lucia was impressed.

Laia was just as excited to go to Hexside as Luz. But Lucia hated school, even magic school. She only decided to go to keep an eye on her sisters and fuck with Amelia.

Neither Laia note Lucia were interested in going to the Grudgby match. Laia stayed home and read (on the couch. She was so engrossed in her book she missed king walking out with half-transformed Eda) and Lucia went to hang out with Winona.

Laia and Anna worked together on a book for the writing contest. It won. Lucia wrote one too but it git rejected for being too graphic. It made one of the judges who read it start seeing a therapist.

All three went to the knee. Lucia went along with Eda'z crazy teaching because it seemed hysterical to her crackheaded mind, she missed the whole Slitherbeast thing bc she was off with moss in her ears, dirt over her eyes and pine needle mulch in her nose. Laia was incredibly disappointed that Anna wasn't there with the other blights. She didn't even try to stop Luz from stealing the wand bc she knew she wouldn't listen. She was just as impatient as Luz, just not rash. They figured out the ice glyph together.

Lucia chose the bard track in First Day bc she wants to be in a band. Laia couldn't choose just like Luz and got stuck in the Oracle Coven. Lucia got caught just like Luz and ended up in the detention track, Barkus was a bit more wary about her. She helped fight the basalisk I guess. Laia just stayed in class. Both Luz and Laia got to be in every track, Lucia chose only Bard, Beast Keeping and Illusion.

When Luz and co were shrunk at the carnival, Laia was off hanging out with Anna, and Lucia was doing something crackheaded with Winona. (Seriously, you could write such good fluff fics about Anna and Laia, and insane crack fics about Lucia and Winona.)

Anna and Laia went to Grom together. They're such unassuming people that the only people who noticed were Eda and King bc they helped Laia get ready, and Amelia. Who had very mixed feelings bc 1- that's Lucia's sister, but 2- she actually kinda likes Laia and Luz.

Lucia begged Luz to let her take over as Grom queen but no dice. She ran to help too when Luz ran off but was too slow, she didn't get there until the very end of the dance.

Look, Laia is too much of a bookworm to care about sports and Lucia just thinks their stupid, so neither of them watched Luz play in Wing it like Witches.

Eda made cloaks for all 3 girls. Lucia and Laia were in the wrong year to go on the field trip to the emperor's palace. After school Laia went to the library with Anna and Lucia went to hang out with Winona. Laia and Anna fell asleep reading in Amity's secret room and Lucia and Winona lost track of time hanging out, neither got home until the next morning, and they found Luz crying on the floor.

Imagine with me, all 3 noceda girls breaking into the conformatorium to save Eda. All three wailing on Belos, Laia with a fuck ton of glyph papers, Luz with Eda's staff and some glyphs, and Lucia with a red aluminum bat covered in glyphs. They don't beat him but they do a lot more damage than just chiping his mask.

Imagine all 3 sisters agreeing silently to destroy the portal. For Eda.

I’m back again, I just wanted to complain real quick about Dana. I don’t think I caught it my first play through or I didn’t care because I wasn’t on the Suresh route yet but her raggedy ass definitely said that she knew the answer to one of the challenges wasn’t him but she wanted to snog him anyway after I told her in the previous challenge that I didn’t like that shit. What kind of shitty ass friend is that?? I wish I could go off on her. I really do because at least Kat is an out and out bitch and doesn’t claim to be my friend. These people are the WORST. Eddie is so trash, he’s always given me creep vibes and I don’t see why people like him. Alfie was cool until he wasn’t, to the point where in my replay I went as far as I could EVERY. SINGLE. TIME with Suresh. Kat goes on and on about Finn but his ass is a player too, he may not be a cheater now but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did. I haaaaate Arlo so much. When I wasn’t on the Suresh route she was nagging me the whole time acting like I wanted him so when I replayed I COULDN’T WAIT to throw in her face that I kissed Suresh when the drama kicked off. I’m gonna give Gabi hell at every turn. She came in the villa on some bullshit and is so antagonistic that I really can’t deal. I hate that options aren’t as harsh as I’d like them to be lol. It’s clear that she feels something for Suresh still and she wants something from him. The Casa boys are a complete let down and honestly I’m gonna stick just so I can HOPE to be sent home. I was RAGING when Suresh came out HOLDING ANOTHER GIRLS HAND! This game has ruled my brain since Wednesday. Good lord.

My little brother brought me tater-tots the other night, unprompted? My friends and old coworkers came out and stood in the misty rain on my birthday while we social distanced, that was pretty cool. I’m always the one taking care of people in my life and the adults in my family are a lot of narcissists so even when they do nice things it's to say they did nice things so it feels wrong saying they did anything nice? if that makes sense? Brain Cell Bae keeps me from losing my shit at work on the reg and she writes me purring witcher fluff so that's pretty nice! 💖

Annalyse Keating - HTGAWM - she's such a badass and if I end up in jail for a murder I didn’t commit bc she framed me, that's on me. But honestly, I want her to teach me that death glare.

Yennefer - I mean do I have to spell it out???? She’s pure badass and power and stubborn will to be who she wants to be/get what she wants most in life and I want to drink wine with her while pontificating on how fucked society as a whole is with a nice side of dark fucked up humor. I feel like we would be friends.

Dana Scully - the ultimate mom friend. we would vent about the bullshit we try to corral on the daily and talk science and not feel bad about info-dumping about the weird sometimes fucked up shit the human brain does. she is also a badass and we love her in this house.
