This feels like the Most Fantasy I've drawn, and I've done dragons and griffins. This is a battle turtle, which lives in the Llayan Great Lake. The name comes from back in the day when Llayad was a more warring nation and they'd use their shells as shields. Whole lot of leafy seadragon-esque fins floating around them for camouflage, and freshwater mosses grow on their shells so they can really blend in with the rocks on the lake floor. They have a long helmet so when they draw their head in they have an extra spike sticking out, more spikes on their shells, a long hooked beak and frigging sawblades of scales on their front fins, but they're not carnivorous. This is aaaaall defensive, because something else lives in the Great Lake, oooooooOOOOOOOOooooooooooo.

They're also, predictably, a delicacy in Llayad, but it's a criminal offence to raid their egg nests.

was rewatching fabian’s baron moment on account of it being the most delicious piece of pvp in my recent memory and ally beardsley’s growth as a player just shone through so brightly and with such clarity. after dusting off their shock they immediately asked about the nemesis ward, had enough knowledge about fellow pcs stocked to remember adaine’s ac with such like frustrated confidence and certainty, suggested to siobhan to dimension door out of adaine’s room, like. they came into this making a character with 4 dex. and now the dice deity offered to roll a check to sense if adaine was in danger. making decisions, asking questions, getting invested in the story, trying so hard with the tools they have to save characters from danger; ally beardsley is an incredible d&d player.

I think a lot about Leo’s tendency to push his way into the spotlight despite clearly being a natural in the shadows. Hell, you could argue that his worst moments are when he’s forcing himself onstage, and his best are when he does things no one notices until it’s already been done.

currently Going Through It™ and i started thinking about how burnout could affect donnie. personally, the tiniest thing going wrong feels so much worse than it actually is. knowing he struggles with equating his self worth to his tech i can see this being a source of frustration for him during these periods.

I just noticed in Battle Nexus: New York, when Draxum was trying to convince the co. that they were trapped in a mind-illusion he asked where the turtles were: the colors of Leo and Donnie were switched. He mistook the twins' colors, that's hilarious!

They're basically identical, duh!
