Rewatching "I Know Where I'm Going" and absolutely staring at Crowley. Like damn, the angel wasn't even here to see this piece of sin wearing sleeve garters while throwing carrying his books.

Good Evening! Here is my interpretation of Gabriel's arrival in Soho. I customised the minifigure by painting his eyes violet, and the blanket was only stripey when I started. Thin strips of tape and more violet paint hopefully make it look like tartan. I was lucky to find lots of different skin tones for the crowd in Lego pick-a-brick, (from the table football set, but I didn't have to buy the whole set!)
It was fun to find all the best unhappy faces I had

update on the good omens grieving process
Hello hi yes maggots your mascot sacrificial goat here, none of your ominous bloody warnings prepared me for this. On the advice of one of you I took a break from tumblr today so I thought ah, yes, I shall not think about Good Omens during this time. Hahahaha bet. This is a long post, about a series of disturbing good omens moments that haunted me anyway. Proceed with caution.
It was nine hours away, out of which I slept through four.
During the first nap, it became clear how tumblr brainwashed me. You'll never guess what I dreamed of. If you said Good Omens the answer is no.
I dreamed that someone on the television was reading out an audiobook of a nature arts and crafts book I had as a kid. And there were six pages dedicated to praising Neil Gaiman.
So then in the dream I wrote a tumblr post about it saying, "I thought y'all were kidding about the whole Neil being in our falafel thing but goddamn he really is everywhere".
Then, still in the dream, I remembered I wasn't supposed to be on tumblr, so I tried to delete the Neil Gaiman falafel post. Instead tumblr fucking glitched and set the post to 'lo-fi mode'. I kept trying to delete it.
At this point my screen was covered with pop-ups of tumblr yelling at me and a goddamn timer counting down from 41,000 minutes. Tumblr informed me that their 'delete post' function is actually run by BitCoin.
Currently due to their skeleton staff and the fact that this hellsite is held together with washi-tape and queer trauma, they were having negotiations with BitCoin and so I could not delete my post. I tried again anyway and the entire site hung. Then I woke up. This is some @one-time-i-dreamt shit.
The only social interactions I had were with the two irl good omens fans I know, whom I informed that I had finished Good Omens.
One of them sent me an audio clip of him screeching about trauma and six months and children of divorce at the top of his voice.
The other one texted ASMIIII YOU'RE A CHILD OF DIVORCE HOW ARE YOU COPING WITH THE PAIN. Two hours into my tumblr break I was already facing withdrawal and I wanted to sob that's what the maggots call me but that would have led to them saying BECAUSE THAT'S YOUR FUCKING NAME and I didn't wanna descend there yet.
I then went on Amazon and tracked my good omens book package like a creep. I then went on the US Amazon to cry over all the Good Omens merch that I cannot buy and isn't available here.
I then went on Pinterest to look at Good Omens tumblr screenshots. It was all going well until I found a stupid fucking post that said the duration of the song playing in the Bentley during the final fifteen and the duration of the kiss are the same. So he was replaying the kiss in his head before stopping the music.
Naturally, this then made me cry over Crowley. Painfully.
I looked up Good Omens ambiences on Youtube and cleaned a whole half of my desk while an Aziraphale's bookshop ambience played with rain and shit and when the lockdown audio came I smiled again.
And now here I am. Back. In pain.

I'm back with another Good Omens meta in which I'm gonna scream about This Shot now because otherwise I might go insane:
Tumblr media
Everything. Every single thing about this shot is so telling and painful and perfect. So, let's break it down before I loose my blessed mind.
LIGHTING
Notice the very obvious, massive ray of light shining in from the top right corner? At first glance, it might seem like it's coming from the window but really, the angle is completely off, the outside is way gloomier than the inside and it seems like it's actually coming from the skylight. The literal one and, mayhaps, also the metaphorical Heavenly one? *winks at you with both eyes*
PLACEMENT
In addition to the source of the Mysterious Ray Of Light being quite the obvious reference to Heaven: it also shines directly onto the heavenly array in the bookshop. The very array Aziraphale used to try and talk to God in S1. And who is standing in the dead middle of it? That's right. The fucking Metatron. Just like all the way back before the End of the World. Appearing to Aziraphale albeit not being called upon. Parallel much?
Aziraphale on the other hand, is not even close to being in the middle of it. Neither the array nor the ray of light. He's standing at the very edge of it, still distraught down to his angelic bones, completely cast into the shade. Despite being the one closer to the camera (= us, the audience), he still draws our eyes in less than the Metatron. It gives us a very clear image of which one of the two of them is currently dominating the shot and also the conversation.
The bookshop is Aziraphale's space, the most Aziraphale space there is. And yet, he's not the one currently owning it. The Metatron's presence is almost making this feel claustrophobic. If we were to draw a line right down the middle of the shot, both him and Aziraphale are crammed into the left side of the picture. Just like in so many shots with Aziraphale and the other (arch)angels, it feels like his space is being invaded, he's beeing crowded against a metaphorical wall, squeezed out of his own comfort zone.
Because that's exactly what the Metatron is doing here, isn't it? It's what Heaven has always done to Aziraphale. Get up all in his business when he leasts wants them to, with nothing but bad intentions and arrogant distain, masked under the hood of feigned corporate politeness. ("You.. you– bad angels!")
BONUS: CROWLEY'S ABSENCE PRESENCE
As we all know, Crowley has already left the bookshop after The K*ss. And he's clearly the missing half to this shot. The Metatron is crowding Aziraphale away from him, away from the door and the window that lead and look outside of the bookshop. Where Crowley is. Where freedom is. Just this once, the bookshop is actually not at all where Aziraphale wants to be. But he's being kept in there by the Metatron, because the choice was never his.
So, we have our clear image: The Metatron backing Aziraphale away from his freedom and what he wants – the metaphorical and literal "right" side (of the shot). And what do we see in the background, on that very right side? The horse statue Crowley always puts his sunglasses on. Look at her, there she is:
Tumblr media
In S2E1, right when Crowley and Aziraphale get back from Nina's café to the bookshop (with the damn Eccles cakes), he puts his sunglasses very obviously atop the horse statue ...
Tumblr media
... and then takes them again when leaving the bookshop.
Tumblr media
It literally gets its own close up shot. It tells us: Crowley feels safe in the bookshop. Crowley feels safe with Aziraphale. This is his home just as much as it is the angel's. And I don't have to tell you about the metaphore of him putting the glasses back on once he realizes he has lost Aziraphale to Heaven. (In addition, I categorically refuse to talk about the way Aziraphale looks at him when he does it.)
Tumblr media
So, the horse statue being on this side of the shot –– the side that Aziraphale actually so desperately wants to be on right now (their own side) but is being kept from –– is just beyond symbolical.
Because just like the statue representing him, Crowley is still there. He's waiting. Right outside the shop, by the Bentley. He's there. He'll always be there. He just can't come with this time. Not to Heaven. Not after how he just laid himself bare after 6000 years of wearing his bloody metaphorical sunglasses like a battle armour, and was left hanging just like his shades on the god damn horse statue.
Literally me right now:

we are probably going to have more about book of life in go3 and wouldn't it be funny, if book of live was this whole time in aziraphale's bookshop?

I want to talk about that miracle.
All everybody ever asks is: why was that miracle so strong, is it because Crowley was a powerful angel before the fall (probably), or was it because Aziraphale & Crowley working together are more powerful than anything else (definitely)?
But nobody ever asks: why was that miracle so strong? I mean, they said it worked a little too well, when the angels & demons couldn't even recognize Gabriel when he stood directly in front of them and announced himself. But still ... does that really require a miracle the same strength as bringing someone back from the dead 25 times? We have learned that angels are rather unquestioning and demons rather dim, it should require fairly little to pull the wool over their eyes. And Aziraphale & Crowley didn't even think that it would take a big miracle, they planned to both do a little miracle, a very minor miracle, each a half-miracle that would barely move the dials, the tiniest, most insubstantial, fractional half a miracle they have ever performed. And after they did they even had to check if the miracle took at all.
So yeah, even if they accidentally overdid it - why to the amount of 25 Lazarii? And that without them even noticing!
Of course their delight at the successful hidden miracle followed directly by the scene of all the alarm bells in Heaven ringing with what literally looked like Red Alert was insanely funny. But once I stopped laughing, and they showed Zira's bookshop spewing purple miracle dust like a volcano, I immediately thought: that can't be it. I expected a soft glow around it, like a shield or an aura, but not a pillar of pink that went up into the sky space. There must have been something else in Zira's shop. What do we know was in the shop at that time?
Apart from Gabriel himself my first thought was his cardboard box. Up until the end I was convinced that the box contained more than just empty air. Even when the fly was revealed, I still thought there must have been more inside. Gabriel went to the trouble of taking the fly out of the matchbox and putting it in this much much bigger box. Why did he do that? It cost him a lot of time. He could have just grabbed the matchbox and be on his way! If he had taken a finer pen than the marker, he could have written a message on there too. From inside the elevator. And Soho would have gotten a longer and better look at his goods.
So I kept thinking that there must have been something else, invisible but enormously miraculous, inside that box. No not the fly. More powerful and more important than the fly. 25 Lazarii more powerful. The only problem with that theory is that when Gabriel got his memory back, he should have remembered what else he put into the box as well. And he could/would have told Aziraphale what it was. (I also don't think that the "something terrible" he referred to in his first conversation with Zira was his impeding memory loss, I think he was already talking about the second coming. And I think he wanted to prevent it, even while fleeing Heaven.)
But he didn't tell Aziraphale & Crowley anything. Was he so caught up in his reunion with Beelzebub that he forgot? That he didn't care anymore? Had someone or something removed certain memories from the fly, held them back? Or did he indeed not know that there was something else in the box, was it maybe given to him by somebody?
Yes, I have had this Box-Theory since my very first watch of the very first episode. I can't seem to let it go.
But even if it doesn't have anything to do with the box - I am still absolutely convinced that there was a second miracle. Maybe that miracle is the one that will finally make sense of all the dangling threads and open questions about season 2. Maybe it is the new context we are all seeming to look for. I have absolutely no fucking clue what it could be.
But I know that something was going on in that bookshop on that day that we don't know about.

Something was "bothering" me about Aziraphale's bookshop in the new season: it felt bigger on the inside even if the proportions were the same (compared to the first season).
So, obviously, I have looked for some photos from both seasons (mainly from Neil's bookshop tour for S1 and trailers or promotional videos for S2).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's not bigger: it's less crowded.
Tumblr media
There are less books haphazardly laying around and they're more organized.
There are no longer book piles on the floor everywhere.
And the same is for some bookshelves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I dunno what are those "folders" on the left.
Only Aziraphale's desk is still cluttered.
I don't know why there is this difference but I have 2 main theories:
1) Crowley is stress cleaning everything and Aziraphale is letting him do that because he knows it helps his dear friend demon.
2) Aziraphale is reorganising his belongings to give Crowley some of his space.
(there is also the possibility that the "trader association" had asked the angel to clean things up, but I prefer my main theories).

"Surrender the Angle!": Two signs, two different angles?
In an effort to catalogue all the continuity "errors" in Good Omens, here's another to add to the pile:
When the demons attack the bookshop, they throw a sign through the window saying "Surrender the Angle". When it lands, does it look like this first image or the one underneath?
Take a close look at the carpet. See where the sign sits in relation to the carpet pattern? Here it is brightened and outlined:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That sure is a different 'angle', right?
What about the amount of glass in either image? The first image has large chunks of glass shown, whereas in image two there are only a few small pieces of glass.
These images are being shown only seconds apart. You think the second, static shot of the sign on the carpet (drawing attention to angles no less!) would be a pretty easy shot to get right, continuity-wise.
However, just like Gabriel's statue, missing store signs from multiple shops, Crowley's overactive sideburns and a Bentley which changes shape and colour, they just couldn't seem to get anything right in this show!
Or did they, and we just don't have the full picture yet?
Thanks to everyone at @ineffable-detective-agency for motivating me to keep finding things, and to @embracing-the-ineffable for her feedback on this post.
