belonging is such a weird thing.
i'm technically european, specifically dutch/scottish. i've lived in Australia my whole life, my parents have lived here their whole lives. I'm confident my grandparents have lived here their whole lives. my great-grandparents were the ones to migrate to australia.
for all intents and purposes, im australian. i don't have a bit of indigenous blood in me. i know nothing about my country, its people, its geography, or its wildlife and plants, especially its history.
ive grown up, especially now, seeing indigenous Australians constantly fight for the rights to their home and their culture. i listen to the welcome to country speeches during assemblies and gatherings.
i learned that during 2020 the indigenous people of the area of land I live on (that I've only been living on for almost 8 years), they were fighting for the removal of cairns dedicated to a pioneer that sentenced them to a horrible life and reality.
ive grown up hearing how the only people that are truly Australian are the indigenous people, because they have been here for so much longer than all of us. it's becoming so much more prominent and louder now that they are the first people. that's how they've been referred to so much in my education.
i dont know anything about the countries my great-grandparents all come from. i know the names, I know the nationalities. i know van diemen was the first one to actually discover australia.
it's kinda funny because it makes me realise I have no sense of belonging in either place. i don't have any connection to the land or people here in Australia, and I don't have any connection to anywhere in Europe, where all my ancestors are.
im just sorta... here? there is no place I feel connected to, and I want a place I can be connected to.

@ islamophobic anon, i have no idea when you sent me that message since ive completely missed the notification. i will not ignore it because theres a small chance you might be following me in which case i want you gone. thats is, if you want you dont have to read further. also for future reference its totally okay to wish me a terrible day, thats preferable.
on the off chance that you're not some kinda copypaste bot... - ok and? please feel free to look up the passages in the bible that say that exact same thing. these are thousands year old books we're talking about. so, your point is simply to be islamophobic, which of course i dont have to spell out to you. sometimes religious people will do terrible things and justify them that way, just as often as atheists will do those same terrible things regardless, because its not about the religion it's about humanity. this is not about that - even if humanity is an important issue to discuss, i guess.
the point is that religion is one of the things that give people stability strength and hope, especially when things are hard and especially when they're downright disastrous. THAT'S the point. if you cant see that and if you cant feel that empathy for other people, regardless of your own faith or non-faith, then thats maybe something to reflect upon.

week ninety-three
s has been replying slower for the past few days and its making me so anxious lol im sure its fine TT right?
anyways w sat down w me at lunch??? i was studying at my fav café and i didnt even notice he was there until he had passed my table and then come back. he just asked if he could sit w me and i obv said yes. he sat w me for the entire time too so for like a solid 30 minutes. crazy. we talked ab studies and projects and stuff.
its really bothering me that i fell into this hole of liking two ppl at once. it feels so mean. talking to s while still having somewhat of a crush on w. i think ive realized by now though that s is obviously more realistic AND were most likely more compatible anyways. idk w well enough to tell though but at least s isnt religious. thats one of the biggest dealbreakers for me as an atheist.
i feel like i need to do a little list of things i like ab s bc ive talked ab w too much. i do really like s!!! i want him!!! like i genuinely think ab him wayyyyy more than w nowadays and ive really fallen for him this past month.
so, things i like ab s:
i like his humor. its so rare to find ppl who align so perfectly w my sense of humor so its so amazing that he genuinely makes me laugh and that i can joke so naturally w him.
hes cute. hes very cute. he smiles so cutely and hes just so sweet-looking.
hes not an asshole. like im so glad hes a man i dont have to teach how to be a good person. hes just actually a decent human being.
hes such an old man spiritually, its so cute. hes a lil grandpa TT
his passion for geography. its so cool??? hes so smart and i dont understand how hes so good at it. hes so good at math as well.
he can like ACTUALLY spell. a lot of ppl cant. along the same lines, he can actually speak english. idk why but ive always found good spelling and good english attractive. i think its just bc im good at those two things so it just... feels right?
hes taller than me hihi im afraid i have to admit im a bit of a pick me bc i do really enjoy when he teases me ab my height. hes really good at teasing in general. i like it a lot.
i really want him.

youtube
[ BOOM BOOM ] 1987 SPINNING DEE-DEE
ive talked endlessly on here about the importance of the internet, how it is impossible to fully control they way they control television and the film industry and press, by its nature it cant be controlled. that being said they still try and i think thats more apparent today than ever before, basically post covid the character of the internet changed pretty dramatically, youtube itself is the best example of this, susan wosjciki (sp? i dont know shes a jew) has been doing her damndest to sink the platform so the userbase will flee the platform to other more easily controlled platforms namely twitch. i know im not the only one who noticed youtubes focus changing from your subscriptions, you know the content you chose to be exposed to, into a situation where the homepage is no longer your subscriptions but youtube recommendations which are astroturfed to hell and back. for instance today i got a video where some jew lawyer talks about alex jones legal woes, ive never been an alex jones guy but this jews face just triggered primordial anger in me, he read as “enemy” on a deep genetic level, so i clicked the video to call the guy a rat jew (which i did) but i noticed that literally all the comment chains were started by youtube accounts that were a generic womans name first and last, and the profile pics were ALL very attractive women dressed in lingerie, thats not so unusual bots are all over the place, what was unusual about it is all of these lingerie clad ladies using their full first and last legal name were all making cogent political points not just spamming links to some bulgarian scam website. the internet astroturfing botting shilling whatever you want to call it is fucking insane now, if you use 4chan you are well aware of what im talking about, anyway the main point of this post was meant to be some advice, i see people on anonymous message boards and comment sections attempting to call out shills in two ways, a surprising amount of these shills are ethnically jewish, its only surprising because there are so few jews and the shilling is so rampant, youd expect the majority of shills to be goys but in reality its literal paid jews in israel or its diaspora jews from around the world. a way that people have been attempting to combat this is to demand the person they are debating respond with “say christ is lord” this is effective, versus “denounce the talmud” or “spell out “god” these are NOT effective, and its very telling why one works and the other doesnt. the issue is most of the jews causing people problems are NOT religious, the religious ones are just as fucked up, but they dont have the same pull as these atheist jews have, almost none are actually atheist they believe in the occult and when you peel back the layers they are satanists but thats beside the point, they dont give a fuck about spelling gods name or denouncing the talmud, but tellingly they STILL wont say Jesus is king or Christ is lord or anything like that, because one thing all jews share is that they HATE jesus christ, atheist, orthodox, they fucking hate christ, they are ANTI christ, muslims are not antichrist they revere christ as a prophet, atheists are indifferent (in theory not in practice) but of the three major abrahamic world religions jews are the only one who are ANTI CHRIST, the talmud states jesus mother was a whore that jesus himself was a sorcerer and that he is boiling in either cum or shit in hell depending on how you interpret the hebrew. both religious and nonreligious jews hate christ, and thats simply not acceptable they can fuck right off, you dont have to be christian to be here but you cant hate the message of jesus christ because its foundational to having a functional society where people can actually have shit. even if you arent religious you need to appreciate that christianity was revolutionary in its message and it revolutionized the way people organize themselves socially. to put your neighbors needs above your own, to not just forgive but to love your enemy, these ideas were and are radical and while in practice christian nations never live up to the precedent set by jesus christ, the attempt alone makes for high trust societies. why would you allow someone to live amongst you who does not value forgiveness, who doesnt understand grace as a concept, im having a difficult time trying to explain myself, its not religoius zealotry thats prompting this, there are gentiles i know who went to church all of there lives but because it was a catholic church and not a christian church the values of christ were not imparted in them properly, they viewed forgiveness as a sign of weakness, and as a result they are universally dog shit, completely socially dysfunctional etc. the basic tenants of Christianity run counter to human instinct, but when they are employed even imperfectly you end up with countries and societies with unparalleled prosperity and satisfaction, frankly i dont trust people who lack this foundation, i dont even need to explain why its self evident, someone who thinks they are good because they dont understand what sin is or their need for grace is going to be a piece of human shit guaranteed, and nearly all jews fall into this category, the acceptions being messianic jews who recognize that christ was the messiah which is painfully clear if you read Isaiah which jews literally dont do.

Tumblr media
felt nostalgic so i decided to fix up two very old characters and make them nevverse. Herb is a half-n-half Fawn/Harpy who escaped a particularly hardcore Soraeven circle (although not before losing his pinkies). he also has a seperate-wing condition, a genetic quirk due to Harpy ancestors once having seperate wings and forearms (this occurs now and again in beasts with deitic extra limbs). although this looks striking, he cant fly with his wings, and his arms are a little small and quite weak, alongside some other physical problems. the halo is an aesthetic spell. he was born and raised like Pietre, being highly magically acute, but didnt vibe with everything at all, and has to be on the move lest someone tries to bring him back to the communion. he is atheist, which in-universe is more a "gods are real but i dont worship/they dont deserve worship"
Magpie (once Drake but i have a different Drake now lol) is a nomadic Darkelf (nvmr name pending for elves). he was raised in a programme to be a Rogue, but estranged from his family as soon as he could. hes not a professional, but still has the skills, and is more than adequete at protecting his new friend. hes not religious, but LOVES Drakkenin lore and aesthetic. his antlers were capped against his will as his local tradition calls, so he wears false tops. his tail injury was just a training accident, though.
they are 19/21 respectively. good riddance whatever the hell 12 year old me was on. warning if you do go digging i keep the old art of the og characters for keepsakes but they had a really terrible age gap.

「 headcanon questions | accepting 」 —asked by @holographic-confidence, @exhuntra, @gueyveloz, @diamondtrail, @kiiingkobra, @lovclythief, @paquectric, @illusionage.
016. WHAT IS HIS WEAPON OF CHOICE? in the arena, he likes a few different types of weapons. im also biased so he likes the weapons that i like since he’s my main LOL. ideal loadout is a volt smg + r-301 carbine, though he’d also be satisfied with r-301 + charge rifle or r-301 + longbow dmr.
for any reconnaissance missions or other outside-the-arena activities, he favors a silenced pistol and a data knife.
also, of course, using hack as a bludgeoning weapon. he likes doing that quite a bit.
019. IF HE COULD HAVE A SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD HE CHOOSE? time travel. :^)
023. WHAT DOES HE CONSIDER BEAUTIFUL IN OTHERS PHYSICALLY? movement and posture. there’s something about the way a person carries themself, whether it’s with graceful poise, a tall and strong posture, or a confident swagger that crypto admires. probably because he tries to make himself as unobtrusive possible, to move through the world without being noticed too much. others who can carry themselves with confidence, not caring if anyone is watching them—he finds that really beautiful.
024. WHAT DOES HE CONSIDER UGLY IN OTHERS PHYSICALLY? this is hard just because i dont think he really cares what a person looks like when it comes to attraction. he’s definitely a believe that ugliness is something that shows in you because of your actions and your personality.
bad breath and bad teeth are up there though LOL
025. WHAT DOES HE CONSIDER BEAUTIFUL IN OTHERS PERSONALITY-WISE? kindness and optimism, even when faced with really difficult or terrible circumstances. he finds it really admirable that some people don’t feel the need to harden up and close themselves off in response to their trauma and hardships.
026. WHAT DOES HE CONSIDER UGLY IN OTHERS PERSONALITY-WISE? blatant and extreme cruelty. like, yeah, he’s a huge dick himself and he can say some mean things at times, but he’s definitely not the type to revel in making other people’s lives hell for the fun of it and he’s disgusted by people who do.
027. WHAT IS HIS IDEA OF PERFECT HAPPINESS? right now crypto thinks he’ll be happy if he can clear his name, reunite with mila, and go home to suotamo and mystik. of course all of us know that is not a realistic dream and it’s never going to happen because he is unable to come to grips with the fact that he will never go back to his old life.
028. WHAT MAKES HIM LAUGH OUT LOUD? sadly nothing really does :/ it really would take a lot for that to happen. either some kind of unexpected funny thing happening or some kind of absurd statement or joke or something like that. crypto’s not a laugher, sorry 😔
029. WHAT SORT OF SENSE OF HUMOR DOES HE HAVE? on the surface? a very mean sense of humor. insults, ‘playful’ ribbing, calling everyone that’s not natalie an idiot, etc. he also enjoys sarcasm a great deal as well as deadpan humor just to fuck with people.
but he’s also not immune to a good pun (’data way,’ for example)
030. DOES HE BELIEVE IN THE AFTERLIFE? no, not really. he’s an atheist and doesn’t think there’s anything waiting for us after we die.
031. IS HE SUPERSTITIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING? not in the way this question is asking, no. he’s too much of a realist/left-brain for anything like that.
032. DOES HE BELIEVE IN GHOSTS? no (see above)
033. DOES HE KEEP HIS PROMISES? i feel like crypto makes very few promises to anyone he doesn’t trust because yes, he does actually try to keep them.
034. WHAT’S HIS VIEW OF LYING? big big fan of lying over here. love it, will do it until he dies, 10/10 because to him lying = security.
035. WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE CRYPTO LIVES BY? trust nothing and no one.
038. WHAT BAD HABITS DOES HE HAVE? where to even start! LOL
he has a plethora of bad habits. some of the more obvious are:
not getting enough sleep/pushing himself to stay up all night
not eating consistent meals
vaping
overworking
but then there are some less obvious ones like pushing people away, freezing people out, distrusting EVERYONE, and all his other little paranoid habits like:
scanning everyone who comes to his home for weapons
setting up surveillance cams around places he frequents
not eating food made by others/that doesn’t come in a sealed container
maintaining a minimalist lifestyle specifically because he will have to run again in the future
crypto is an unhealthy mess!
039. WHAT DO THEY THINK IS THE WORST THING THAT CAN BE DONE TO A PERSON? hmmm this is a hard one. because there’s the very obvious answer of, like, being tortured or assaulted and really terrible things like that but maybe those things go without saying. so in his opinion, the worst thing that can happen to a person is becoming completely stripped of their identity. it is so alienating and othering to have who you are at your core foundationally upended
046. HOW DOES HE HANDLE GETTING SICK? like most things, crypto doesn’t handle it much at all LOL. once he realizes he’s getting sick he pushes himself through it as much as he possibly can to keep working/fighting/whatever until he physically collapses from it, whether that’s literally fainting or just falling into bed at night and waking up the next morning too sick to move. then he just lays there and hopes it passes quickly. he is horrible at self-care
049. HOW DOES CRYPTO FEEL ABOUT GROWING OLD? this is maybe a little morbid but crypto doesn’t have many feelings about growing old at the moment because he doesn’t think he’s going to live to being an old man. either the Syndicate is going to kill him or he’s going to die trying to take them down
050. HOW DOES CRYPTO FEEL ABOUT HIS OWN MORTALITY? he accepts his own mortality, and even if he’s not happy about it and even if he will fight it with gnashing teeth and claws, he accepts that he is going to die, probably soon. he’s just working to try and make it so that isn’t a thing that happens
051. IF HE KNEW HE WOULD DIE TOMORROW, WHAT WOULD CRYPTO DO TODAY? send a letter to mystik. try to get a message to mila. then he’d come up with some elaborate plan to try and really fuck things up for the Syndicate. sure it probably wouldn’t matter in the long run since they’re a huge conglomerate and have so much power but he can at least get some people thinking. so something like taking down a big rig of theirs or even just fucking up one of the arenas. something like that
068. HOW STRONG IS CRYPTO’S SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY? WHAT KINDS OF THINGS TRIGGER IT? hmmm i think crypto has a strong sense of responsibility, just generally speaking. like he keeps his living space neat and does his work on his own time and puts forth effort in the game and all that stuff. he is a very hard-working and dutiful person. i don’t think there’s anything that really ‘triggers’ it either because it’s either he does these things, or he doesn’t, but the only person who cares if he does or not is himself.
072. IN A DUNGEONS & DRAGONS GAME, WHICH CLASS WOULD YOUR CHARACTER BE? i’ve spent an embarrassing amount of time thinking about this. if he was playing as a character, crypto would be a Divination Wizard for a couple of reasons. first and foremost being that of course he would get access to spells that rely all around foresight and knowledge and that’s what he’s all about—knowing more about everything going on than anyone else. he’d also favor spells that deal lightning damage. the second reason is that the main stat for wizards is Intelligence and u know he’s gotta have that 20 INT babey.
in my D&D au, though, crypto is a multi-classed Divination Wizard and Inquisitve Rogue. started out as a divination wizard as tae joon but then took up some rogue-like skills after going on the run. i picked Inquisitive Rogue because they’re all about perceiving little details and stuff like that. i know that’s more WIS and less INT but it suits crypto imho.
074. WHAT IS CRYPTO’S FAVORITE GAME? sorry in advance that im not going to pick just one. he likes a lot of different kinds of games, but i think his favorite kinds are horror games, games of strategy, and fighting games. so, stuff like detention, dead space, cultist simulator, portal, tekken, street fighter, etc.
078. HOW EMOTIONALLY STABLE IS YOUR CHARACTER? heeeeeee is not LOL. i mean, the reason he keeps such a tight grip on his persona and his emotions is because he’s like one misstep away from a total meltdown. he’s never properly grieved or mourned about what happened to him and having to go on the run, and now he can’t show any kind of emotion because that equals some kind of weakness or chink in the armor.
but under that armor he feels things INTENSELY. everyone gets on his nerves so easily, and everything that’s happened to him in the games so far is piling on: being framed as the mole, having to tell natalie his name, and now pathfinder/caustic. and thats not even touching on his crippling paranoia. it’s a lot from him and he is barely keeping it together. he’s just good at hiding it.
even so, it manifests in all the little ways, right? so like how he cant even enjoy a meal without wondering if it’s poisoned, his inability to sleep through the night, how he has to scan even pathfinder for weapons when he comes into his house. crypto is an mental and emotional disaster
085. DESCRIBE HIM IN THREE WORDS. stoic. resilient. paranoid.
087. HOW WOULD CRYPTO DESCRIBE HIMSELF IN THREE WORDS? genius. prepared. determined.

20, 21, 23, 146, and 57 if you don't mind!
Hey! I answered these in numbered order:
20: Do you like space or the ocean more?
Space! Definitely! I love all forms of water very deeply but ultimately space is more interesting to me than the ocean. The ocean is mildly terrifying. Also, I literally want to study cosmology at some point, so liking space the best is kind of a requirement.
21: Are you religious?
Nope! I do kind of celebrate things like Christmas and Easter, but more as a family celebration. I’m actually agnostic (and i personally believe that it’s the correct view speaking purely of science. Like, if you believe in any gods or don’t, more power to you, but if you’re going to justify being atheist with ‘well you’re all just ignoring science’ then you should actually be agnostic because those religions have an equal chance to us as being right at this point.)
23: Would you rather be nocturnal or diurnal [opposite of nocturnal]?
nocturnal.
57: Have any mental disorders?
I have ADD/ADHA-pi, which I need meds for but am not currently taking because the NHS takes forever, and a depressive disorder. And likely something else. (I went to therapy for only a few sessions because it was expensive, and every session seemed to turn over more issues, and my therapist ended up being confused and needed more time talking to me to figure stuff out. Unfortunately, I haven’t been in like a year, so thats not happened yet.)
146: Do you prefer boys, girls, and/or non-binaries?
I’m biromantic, and my attraction to boys vs girls fluctuate but on average it’s equal. I’ve never met a nonbinary person irl, so I don’t really know where I stand on that (I’m barely there with the girls/boys part) but I think they’re equal too? It’s kinda hard to judge without being able to test that. And I seem to have a very (very) low attraction rate as is.

dew them a l l then pussy 👀👀👀 u wont
yes i WILL
cracking knuckles as we speak to type this all out
ALRIGHT i’m not retyping 1, 20, and 29 i’m too lazy to copy paste
2) have you ever found a writer who thinks just like you? if so, who?
yes yes i have and while i will not be tagging them, xtarmanderx on ao3/tumblr. they write brett so well it knocks me off my feet every time
3) list your fandoms and one character from each that you identify with
goddamn this is going to be so long ok
teen wolf: nolan, percy jackson: nico, the society: grizz, all for the game: neil, my hero academia: shouji
4) do you like your name? is there another name you think would be a better fit?
i do like my name, it took me a while to pick it out. i’ve stuck with grant for like 2ish years now? but sometimes i wonder if it doesn’t fit me all that well. been thinking about changing it to something like mason or mark cause that’s semi close to my deadname
5) this is a long question i’m not typing it out
ngl i stares at it for a solid 2 minutes trying to figure out what it meant,,, and i think i lean more towards human being instead of doing. while i think actions can speak louder than words, sometimes it’s impossible to do actions (if that makes sense)
6) are you religious/spiritual?
nah, i’m atheist. my dads a hardcore catholic but i’ve never felt a connection with god or a higher being. although one time i went to church with a few of my friends when i lived in louisiana and as soon as i walked in, they looked at me and said “i’m surprised you didn’t burst into flames in the doorway” so yah that happened
7) do you care about your ethnicity?
i care about it for other people. because i’m white, so i need to care and be conscious of the privilege i have as to not hurt other people, yknow?
8) what musical artists have you connected with most over your lifetime?
hollywood undead, sleeping with sirens, my chemical romance, and a few others. i look up to kellin and gerard way so much
9) are you an artist?
yes 😼
10) do you have a creed?
had to look that up and the answer is no
11) describe your ideal day
well in the perfect world brett would be alive. but in reality? wake up around 8-9, easy my way through the morning. grab coffee or an energy drink. go to the movies. eat ramen. listen to music all day. probably eat either sour patch kids or ice cream. that would be nice
12) dog person or cat person?
dog! i have a doberman mix named danny whomst i love very much. partial to snakes tho since i also have one
13) indoors or outdoors?
indoors all the way, fuck you bugs and sunburns
14) are you a musician?
i can drum pretty well. been wanting to pick up bass for when school starts. but i wouldn’t consider myself good enough to be a musician
15) 5 most influential books
this kinda ties into 1 answer with what books to read. but for me
percy jackson series, the song reader, lord of the flies, cirque du freak series (think that’s how you spell it...), and a boy called it
16) if you grew up in a different environment, would you be the same?
i think i’d be happier. more content with myself. but i think my main personality would be very similar
17) would you say tumblr is a fair representation of the real you?
in all honestly? it’s probably the MOST fair. i don’t have anyone i know irl on my tumblr, so i’m not thinking about who would be able to see my account. i can be myself, talk about my interests freely, it’s nice. i like tumblr.
18) what’s your patronus?
god i cant remember. i’d have to log into my pottermore to see, but i think it’s a dog breed of some sort.
19) harry potter house? would you be a muggle?
i’m a hufflepuff - to the surprise of absolutely no one
21) do you love easy?
that’s complicated. i think i fall in love with characters, but i don’t think i’ve ever genuinely been in love with a person. so i’m gonna day no
22) list top 5 things you spend doing in order
1. lay in bed
2. read fanfiction
3. listen to music
4. scroll social media (especially tik tok)
5. draw
23) how often do you wanna see your family a year?
as little as possible. maybe once or twice
24) have you ever felt like you had a mind meld with someone?
idk if this counts but sometimes it seems like you and i have the same thoughts in regards to talbotson it’s freaky. aside from that, the only other one i can think of is when my close friend and i figured out we are basically the same person; birthday and all. i’m a year and an hour older than her tho
25) could you live as a hermit?
easily. as long as i have music and a pencil/paper, and my phone? id be happy. food and drink too ofc
26) how would you describe your gender/sexuality?
pretty set in stone. i’ve known my gender since the 4th grade, and it hasn’t changed (feelings wise). i had to do a little self discovery for my sexuality but it didn’t take long to figure out i exclusively like guys
27) do you feel like your outside appearance is a fair representation of the real you?
meh. i guess. obviously being a non-medically transitioned trans person it’s not perfect? but i’m getting there :) and i’m pretty comfortable with myself
28) scale of 1-10 how hard is it for someone to get under your skin?
6 or 7. honestly depends on what the topic is but i’m fairly easy to get agitated i suppose
30) pick one of your favorite quotes
“we are the champions of the world”
MY EYES HURT FROM STARING AT THIS BUT I FUCKIN DID IT! AHA

A Month of Written Devotion: 2
Prompt 2: How?
now this is one that may get long. how did i come to Lucifer? the stereotypical way: (pre) teenage rebellion and shady internet forums lmao. i was gay (and would later learn im trans) and black, in a white protestant church. i very much felt like an outsider. i didnt realize that wasn't a universal (as in, everyone felt left out) feeling until i was a preteen. i dont think that anyone outright preached hatred of the Gays™ but you could just tell you weren't welcome. we won't even get into the racism.
but, yknow. i was young. if God didn't love me, then i wasn't going to love him. so then, i thought, what do i do with all this love? this desire for divine connection? who else is there, if not God? i had a friend from school who'd let me read her books on witchcraft. they were so very Wiccan, but it was something. i came across a section on different faces of the God and Goddess and was intrigued. i knew mythology, was obsessed with it since i could read that level of books. i started with that. it was nice. i did some weather spells with Zeus. prayed to Athena for some luck on a test. it wasn't awful, but it wasn't what i wanted. i felt like something was supposed to click, and nothing was. i was getting angrier and angrier, both with myself and with my church. i wanted to not only love a god, i wanted to spite God in doing so.
and right around the height of that anger i came across a satanism forum. i knew, vaguely, of Satanists from church and from the Wiccan sites, both of which denounced them. the few sites that didn't condemn them talked all about how they didn't Actually believe in Satan. they were too enlightened™ for that or whatever. so i had skipped right over that option because i wasn't looking for an atheistic spirituality. but this site (and i really wish i could remember what it was) was theistic. people posted about their direct experiences with Satan and the Devil. and it was oddly genuine. i spent hours that first day just reading every post on the site. and ill admit the idea of how much I'd be "sticking it to God" by worshipping Satan appealed to me, but more than that i felt this sense of relief. i could go deeper into it but that's a whole other post lmao.
so i started with the prayers and the rituals on that site, googled desperately for more, wrote them in a little floral journal. (which my family found and made me burn. but again, whole 'nother post)
it felt weird calling him Satan, so i didn't. i called him Devil or i called him nothing. i said i was a satanist but it didn't feel right. only later did i learn of the name Lucifer (oddly, not used often on the site i found) and from then on that is what i knew him as. and then after that, i started to explore the differences between Satan and Lucifer, as well as the simarities. i would probably still say im a Satanist depending on who asks, simply because not many people make the distinction and also because a lot of people who recognize Luciferianism as it's own separate thing also have a sort of fixed idea of how a Luciferian should be. and im sure i dont make the cut. ive been entertaining the idea of just saying I'm a Devil worshipper but that's still got edge lord connotations lol.
but uh yeah. anyways. that's how i came to all this. and over the years ive explored different paths, "drifting" from Lucifer in a sense, because i have a sort of single minded focus that doesn't lend itself well to multiple faiths. (ive somewhat learned to manage that.) but in the end, i always found my way back to here, back to him. and so far, he's always welcomed me. when i feel particularly full of myself or fantastical, i like to think i probably will always end up back here in whatever lifetime i end up in. it is my choice, after all, and i cant imagine choosing otherwise.

Journey as a pagan witch
The pagan road. It's been quite a journey for me. My grandma that raised me was a Mexican catholic. She came to the US when there wasnt many Spanish speakers and she met a Cuban lady. Cuban lady taught her about saint magic and how to cleanse with an egg and reading cards and learning some herbs from wicca books and hoodoo books in español. I read these books as early as 10 and was confused how in Catholicism they said we had only 1 God and how in a wicca book there were many, such as Aphrodite.
Then at 13 when i was an unsatisfied atheist i met a guy that showed me his book on Wicca. So i thought "this is it. It speaks to my heart!" And i started buying Llewyn books from Barnes and Noble and calling myself a Wiccan. Until at 17 i joined a site called Wiccantogether.com and learned actual Wiccans are only wiccan if they get initiated into a British Traditional Wiccan coven. So i started calling myself a neo pagan.
I got locked up and could only remember the goddess Kali and the Great Mother Goddess type figure in Wicca. It didnt help me. I kinda went agnostic but never stopped believing in witchcraft.
In 2012 i met a theistic satanist for lack of a better word and i tried to convert to please him. Learned about the Goetia but they werent for me.
Then in 2013 or 2014 i learned about Traditional Withcraft, more specifically British Traditional witchcraft and even joined a coven which i got kicked out of. But on my own time started praising Dionysus here and there after learning of Him through the first season of True Blood.
Now that I've made my devotion official, Im being led to start praising His retinue too. Which is interesting because Im finding deities like us to meet their family and friends.
Im still not calling myself a Hellenic polytheist because i believe all the gods are real somehow and i have some curiousity about Gaulish polytheism and Celtic polytheism because on my white side I have a lot of French and a little bit from the UK too. And i do read into Aztec mythology even though most of my native ancestors were Chichimec which meant in Nahuatl (sp?) "The barbarians".
Tw: r*pe
But last week a friend of mine was raped similar to how i was raped the first time. She didnt wanna report so i asked if i could curse him. A peer of mine as a Dionysus devotee tried to tell me we cant do anything for justice, not being priests/priestesses, he was coming from the tradition of Bacchic-Orphism. Not witchcraft and felt we need Foundation before becoming witches (but that dont seem to be the case with secular witches i find). He said all i should be doing right now is devotional stuff. Praying.
But i couldnt just twidle my thumbs and do nothing other than pray for healing, after i told my friend I'd curse the guy. Because these fuckers abusing the sacred drink (alcohol) to enact violence deserve to face consequences.
So i went around my peer's advice and decided "oh..but what if i devote this work to Hecate?"
It's not my first time attempting a spell that asks for a deity's help, because a lot of wicca books with spells success those kind. But it was my first time trying to ask a deity for help in a spell that was also a friend or apart of "Dionysus retinue" and i wasnt sure how it'd go.
I asked Hecate for help in it.....and i got a pretty damn creepy eye from the candle wax. I took it to mean, someone seen or heard me...this may be a sign of success. A Hellenic witch told me my first impressions are likely the meaning.
I just gotta say, it feels weird to know I've been a polytheist since 2006 but only now the gods are making themselves known in my life (my UPG, secular witches are totally my friends yo). And i imagine including deities in my magic is gonna make my magic different...but it does feel kinda good to know Hecate has seen this rapist's face and approved of my actions. God approval is pretty validating to know i did the right thing (imo).
I'd like to know other people's evolutions as a pagan and/or witch, because i dont imagine im the only one thats had quite a journey and i have met people go from polytheist to atheist.

Environmentalism & Catholicism talk summary
The talk was by Dr Scott Powell and was titled "Catholics, The Environment, and the End of the World"
- "our very contact with nature has a deep restorative power" - quote by JP2 (the fav)
- Environmental consciousness has theological significance
- Pope Benedict quoted from 2010 that was saying that state of the environment is a huge crisis that cant be ignored
- quote attribution suprises people, most people assume its some random enviro activist, but nope its a pope.
- under his papacy the Vatican actually became the first carbon neutral nation (take that atheists ha)
- JP2 said at one point that you cant be authentically pro-life without being pro-environment (JP2 being the best, once again)
-Summer of 2015 - Laudato Si Encyclical came out
- the world finally started paying attention to what the church has been saying about the environment (note: nothing new in the doc, just a resstatement but people were hella shook)
- 2 big reactions to its publication
- people got very angry (eg the pope has no right to speak on these things hes a religious leader blah blah blah)
- people started twisting his words to fit their own political agneda (a big yikes)
- just a month or so later the Supreme Court ruled same sex marriage is now legal - everyone promptly forgot about Laudato Si and how angry they were (so much anger)
-Essential message of Laudato Si - We are NOT our own gods
-idea that applies to a broad range of moral issues
-Why does the Church think this way?
- all comes back to the big problem in the Church - human sin
-in 1967 a grumpy old guy named Lynn White Jr wrote an article about the historical roots of ecological crisis for the Science academic journal
-article was a big deal, defined conversation about religion & ecology for the forseeable future, the most cited document on the topic
-big claim was the Christianity was to blame for our ecological crisis bc Genesis gives us the right to abuse creation (hur dur)
- BUT HOLD UP THERES ANOTHER SIDE TO THIS STORY
- How we read Genesis matters!! because one way or another it gets cited in all kinds of contexts religious and non religious
- but it gets messy bc people only every frame it two ways
-atheist evolutionist, we all come from monkeys shut up about Jesus
-christian fundamentalist, everything happened in exactly 7 days bc we're taking this literally
-Both frames - wrong.
-side note - he talked about a debate he watched between Bill Nye and a Southern pastor and it was "like watching a train wreck" (i laughed, giggled and felt very validated by this burn)
-anyway what people dont talk about is the Catholic interpretation of Genesis
- Catholics teach the Bible is inspired by God and without error
-whatever the sacred author was trying to say - thats it
-Bible uses word "day" comes from translated hebrew word "yom" which can mean years, eons, etc
-its a story about the WHO not the HOW
- Why 7 days?
- in hebrew numbers are about quality more than quantity
-we're not trying to figure out "what time on thursday did God create the brachiosaurus"
- the word for 7 in hebrew, the same word used when making a covenant
-hebrews saw it as God saying vows to the world, everything he made he wedded himself to it, (ex: "I seven you")
-10 times it says "God says" and each of those 10 times creation responds
-creation is formless and void until he fills what is empty (at this point my mind practically exploded)
- he put fish in the sea , sun in the sky, etc
-7th day is day of rest - he vowed himself to creation, aka "seven'd" himself
-humans were created on the 6th day for the 7th day
-line 26 in the story "in image and likeness of God"
- hebrew word "selem" (idk on the spelling sorry) is word for image
- referred to statue/sculpture of the king put at city entrances so you would know whos in charge
- you are the "selem" of God - people should instantly recognize the king of our lives
-we are created by relationship, for relationship (woah)
-hebrew word for "to know" which is "yadow" doesnt mean to know about, it means to be the God of something
-aka the big PROBLEM THAT THIS ALL COMES DOWN TO
- using something of creation and making ourselves the gods over nature is WHY THE ENVIRONMENT IS IN TROUBLE WHY THIS ALL MATTERS
-some people think natural disasters are nature lashing out against us for our sins against creation/nature
-we're the only creatures on Earth where wee feel out of place, but Jesus became human to reconcile our relationship with God, creation is waiting for us to live out that call (woah!! woAHH!! woah!!)
-adam was essentially a glorified gardener - his task was to till and keep eden
- he fails at this (whoops)
-he's supposed to protect it, but fails because the snake comes into the garden and threatens eve (you had one job my dude, one job)
-it actually might not have been a snake tho
-"hanash" the word we translate as snake means something else in hebrew
-can refer to anything from a crocodile to a 7 HEADED DRAGON (never tell me the Bible is boring again yall i swear)
-so, to be in the image and likeness of God is to be a gardener
-ex: woman mistakes the risen Jesus to be a gardener, Jesus refers to himself as one, etc
-gardening means being faithful to small things
- small decisions to make ourselves holy, when we're holy creation will be satisified and will no longer "cry out in travail" (mic drop)
-all of creation will rise again just like us humans, he came to redeem ALL of it.

man i cant help but feel like anyone who's like GOD IS EVIL AND VIOLENT AND TEACHING UR KIDS TO BE RELIGIOUS IS ABUSE GROOMING need to step back and stop trying to force their bad experiences w religion on everybody
like not even that i just dont think theres a clear distinction between religion and culture and idk why its acceptable to be like “hey i know your people were murdered en masse for their religion and culture but actually you wanting to pass on that culture is child abuse and your religion should be destroyed- but in a progressive way!” and im tired of ex christian atheists talking about what they think secular culture should be like thats basically just secular WASP shit, especially when they really dont kno shit about anyones lives except their own. and fucking also there are material reasons for the ways jewish communities have developed like after ww2 a lot of jews became more interested in preserving jewish culture and became more religious, i dont think i need to spell out why, and like one of the reasons jccs exist and why bat/bar mitzvahs are a big thing is bc when american jews started moving to the suburbs there wasnt a strong jewish community around them like there was in cities and people wanted to preserve being jewish, not that any of this shouldnt be subject to criticism but there is an actual complex history behind jewish life its not just “religious people trying to force their beliefs onto innocent children!!!!”

confession time
although I'm actually currently trying my hand at worshipping dionysos ( spoonie being that i am isnt good at actively wirshipping anything or anyone though ) I'm also extremely interested in satanism as of late. And, like, the 'darker' part of witchcraft, the more empowering one. I've been doing mostly wards and sleeping spells and peace stuff like that and haven't dared to do anything much to actively take something for myself (which reflects my current life in a way hahah). But I feel like I dont need money, I'm not looking for a relationship, I dont know what exactly I need right now so I cant even do any basic money or love spells either.
And obviously I know I don't need to be a satanist or anything to be empowered like that and obviously I know evil and good witchcraft isn't really a thing
but satanism is so freaking interrsting! Especially as I was raised in a casually catholic family and grew up in an atheist rather anti-religion school, satanism is a lot different from what I thought. And I best learn about stuff by practicing it but I cant just go and practice that suddenly. And, admittedly the biggest fear of mine is reversing my baptism hahahaha
Kind of wished I knew any real satanist people who practice to teach me or let me watch during rituals and spell work and such to experience it as close as possible.
I kind of want to incorporate that into the original comic I'm working on too. hmmm
But until then Ill just continue reading on stuff I find interesting.
(if anyone wants to gush about their religion to me hit me up)
