belonging is such a weird thing.
i'm technically european, specifically dutch/scottish. i've lived in Australia my whole life, my parents have lived here their whole lives. I'm confident my grandparents have lived here their whole lives. my great-grandparents were the ones to migrate to australia.
for all intents and purposes, im australian. i don't have a bit of indigenous blood in me. i know nothing about my country, its people, its geography, or its wildlife and plants, especially its history.
ive grown up, especially now, seeing indigenous Australians constantly fight for the rights to their home and their culture. i listen to the welcome to country speeches during assemblies and gatherings.
i learned that during 2020 the indigenous people of the area of land I live on (that I've only been living on for almost 8 years), they were fighting for the removal of cairns dedicated to a pioneer that sentenced them to a horrible life and reality.
ive grown up hearing how the only people that are truly Australian are the indigenous people, because they have been here for so much longer than all of us. it's becoming so much more prominent and louder now that they are the first people. that's how they've been referred to so much in my education.
i dont know anything about the countries my great-grandparents all come from. i know the names, I know the nationalities. i know van diemen was the first one to actually discover australia.
it's kinda funny because it makes me realise I have no sense of belonging in either place. i don't have any connection to the land or people here in Australia, and I don't have any connection to anywhere in Europe, where all my ancestors are.
im just sorta... here? there is no place I feel connected to, and I want a place I can be connected to.

Full Cold Moon in Cancer ♦︎ Moon Magick Pick A Card
Happy New Year~!🍀It’s January already but, gosh, aren’t we all still preparing for the spring equinox this year🍓That’s when the real new year begins, aenergetically~🎍
The Full Cold Moon on 26th December carried a theme surrounding Home and Hearth. It touches on our IC (Imum Coeli) and 4th House in our natal chart. The IC tells us who we are when no one’s watching, and after we become super clear about that, it helps us realise what kinds of company are legitimately good for our sense of belonging in this mortal world.
Your IC can literally shed light unto the reasons you feel alone and separated from the people around. The Full Cold Moon in Cancer—ruler of the 4th House—invites us to take a look at our sense of familyship whilst being incarnate on Earth.
People on this Planet have been struggling with an immense sense of loneliness since the introduction of social media; isn’t that strange? How is it that the more people we’re able to connect with the more miserable we feel on the inside? Well, isn’t it clear that social media has helped us become more aware of what’s truly FAKE when it comes to human connections?💍
Our IC deeply craves real familial connections. Moving forward, wouldn’t you rather entertain soul-based friendships that really care about your wellbeing as a Human being? This Cold Full Moon in Cancer, you’re invited to once again die to everything and everyone that doesn’t make you feel seen, heard, respected, or wanted👻
Fake connections, whether online or offline, can go fuck ‘emselves🥢

Pile 1 – The Choice to be Free Has Always Been Yours to Make
Tumblr media
i d e n t i t y – Knight of Pentacles
Others may think you are mad, but you of all people know there is method to your madness. More than everybody else gives you credit for, you’re actually somebody who’s very strategizing. You are careful with your plans and you think very many things through before you execute your plan. Others simply do not understand this mechanism in your brain because you’re quite unique, quite unorthodox even. This Full Cold Moon, you are invited to ponder if the source of your misery is actually other people’s beliefs about you rather than your actual incapability.
Just because you’re following a strange path of your own doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. Weirdos throughout history have changed societies for the better. We should all be thankful to weirdos—and especially, WITCHES. Did you know that WAY TOO MANY of our advances in science and medicine were actually done by witches? They burnt and hanged the witches and took credit for all of their hard work. Tsk tsk tsk… I raise my cup to all y’all witches who’s working to blast open new pathways for the rest of Mankind🍸Keep doing you. Keep going because spring will surprise you with loads of delights~🍬
s e r e n i t y – Queen of Pentacles Rx
You’re a helpful soul, that much is apparent. But you’ve got to learn some discernment so that you don’t get taken advantage of very easily. What the Queen of Pentacles in reverse is trying to show you is that, unfortunately, too many people in this world don’t even deserve to be helped. Not by you, at least. Unless you’re getting paid for rehabbing messed up people, let them deal with their own mess and grow up from it. Ultimately the Queen of Pentacles Rx is cautioning you against letting messed up people in your inner circle because these types of people are gonna bring their mess into your Life.
You get to decide, with your skilled discernment, who’s worth helping, fighting for; who’s worth keeping because they give you just as much affection. If, in order to keep serenity in your world you must look like a stingy bitch, let it be. Be selective with who you give your time and money to. Make sure you aren’t sucked dry of spiritual aenergy yourself. Your Higher Self and team of Spirit Guides are saying, this whole winter you’ve got shit to manifest—big, big shit. Preserve your precious aenergy so you can manifest real, long-lasting results~!🌳
f a m i l y – 8 of Cups Rx
Having said all of that, this card is saying: don’t easily walk away from things and endeavours that you know from deep within your heart matter. I think you’re so dreamy and floaty that you could have a hard time being realistic when it comes to the physical manifestation of your real desires. You could think, since they’re unrealistic, you might as well give up and choose to focus on other more pragmatic pursuits. If you must leave, leave the people and environments that don’t support your heart’s desires—don’t leave the desires and end up becoming very unhappy with yourself! After all, with your already methodical mind, you actually have all the power in you to bridge your dreams to Reality.
That’s why, honey, the freedom to be free has always been in your mind. Now you’ve just got to make the right decision—what kind of freedom is real freedom to you? The freedom to choose to kowtow to societal expectations or the freedom to walk your own path no matter how lonely (at first)?
‘If you end up with a boring miserable life because you listened to your mom, your dad, your teacher, your priest, or some guy on television telling you how to do your shit, then you deserve it.’ – Frank Zappa

Pile 2 – Art and Romanticism Have Always Been an Important Part of Your Heart
Tumblr media
i d e n t i t y – 9 of Cups
You have many dreams, but if there’s one thing, you’ve always dreamt to be independent, doing your dreamy things in your dreamy space. I think you’re the kind of person who’d be considered a quiet eccentric. You have many interests and hobbies, and you’re quite sensitive about having your me-time uninterrupted. I think you could erupt if someone walks in on your serious activity and startle you or if someone in your family tells you to go and do something in the middle of your reading. That kinda vibe. You’re quite a loner, actually. You’re super weird tho XD Do you maybe identify as an autistic kid, fam?
Anyway, please know that this Full Cold Moon is inviting you to ponder more deeply about your place amongst Humans. I have a feeling you don’t really like Humans or at least, you find human interactions absolutely exhausting, for the most part. If you know this blog, you know already how much I prize individuality and being alone if it means peace of mind and faster manifestations LOL BUTT!! In this reading, I’m getting that many of you may want to ponder yet again how you interact with people, especially those closest to you because sometimes, there really are people who care about your wellbeing more than you realise.
s e r e n i t y – 10 of Cups Rx
Many of you choosing this Pile probably haven’t got a nice family background. Of course, there are a million scenarios for each person but for the most part, I sense that you’ve felt familial connections to be emotionally unsatisfying. That’s why you seek emotional fulfilment in this multitude of hobbies and interests. Clearly you’re a very intelligent person, that much I’d like to iterate. And so, this reading seeks to validate your feelings about your eccentricity.
Art and all those dramatic things have always been integral to your sense of identity. I really think you should indulge, as long as whatever dramatic things you enjoy aren’t detrimental to your mental or physical wellbeing. If you happen to be the type that’s already doing detrimental things in your pursuit of an emotional high, this card is suggesting you pause breathe and eat before you go after another round of pursuing that high.
f a m i l y – Page of Cups Rx
When you’re pausing, you can cry. Accepting our emotions and acknowledging that they make us Human usually comes with a sense of grieving for all the ways we’ve thought ourselves as being in the wrong. There’s not a thing fundamentally wrong with you, it’s the people around you that have made you feel like you can’t communicate with them with striking vulnerability. And if these experiences have caused you to bear a lot of dark thoughts or negative emotions, I’d like you to know it happens to the best of us.
You could literally turn your pains into art, if anything. If you’ve chosen this Pile as your main pile, know that the pain you’ve experienced through human connections could be turned into art and that your Art has the capacity to heal those who come into contact with its backstory. And this, totally will have a significant place on the world stage because, as you can see, human interactions in recent years have gotten weirder and weirder in some capacity. So many people are hurting from getting disappointed by the…government and celebrities? LOL

Pile 3 – Princess Kaguya, Is That You?
Tumblr media
i d e n t i t y – 2 of Cups Rx
At the core of your being, you’ve always been different in that your heart is a lot purer, your morality is criminally significantly higher, you’re compassionate and can empathise with people on a level that’s beyond the comprehension of most others. The way you’ve experienced this Human Reality is incomparable to what most others have known. Basically, you’re an alien! And that’s an incredibly modest thing to say about you.
What you genuinely wish to see manifest in this world is vastly more high-vibrational than most people would even care to think about. I hope you accept that you are genuinely such a good person when you’re in your best element. What’s really difficult to maintain is your faith in people, for the most part, because you haven’t really met anyone who’s capable of giving their heart to you as deeply as you’ve given yours. This whole experience has broken your spirit and faith in a lot of things.
s e r e n i t y – 9 of Pentacles
And thus, you’ve carved out a Life of your own, quite separate from most people you’ve ever known. I’m sure you’ve burnt a lot of bridges up until just recently, and I sense, many of you simply know there’s still a few more to burn going forward. This is your confirmation that you’ve done the right thing. In this Human world, too many people buy into the idea that to be good is to be social; but you’ve experienced firsthand that that’s often not the case. You know firsthand that many people’s demons get activated by some weird connections to other people’s demons. And you don’t like that.
So you made a decision to walk away from most aspects of social life and worked your butt off to polish your skills. Some of you have spent many years studying; some of you have spent very many months working on a glow-up; some of you have deepened your spiritual prowess and connected to higher realms; basically, you’ve died and become a ghost… Springtime will bring you the resurrection you deserve, bitch!🎍
f a m i l y – King of Cups
About your Soul Fam though, I feel that travel is highly indicated for you. Some of you, you could be meeting a Soul Fam member during travels, but for the majority of you, this aenergy is giving the idea that you’re literally meant to travel the world or live abroad, perhaps even for the rest of your lives. Highly advanced souls can often have a narrative in which they’re expected to die on a land different from the one they were born into. So, if you’ve been thinking of moving to a different country or state, this is your confirmation that it is indeed part of your soul scenario.
Thanks to modern travel, it’s so easy for highly advanced souls to connect with their true Family members from different countries and that’s something we’re glad about LOL If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re going to die alone and sad, that’s totally not the case. If anything, you have so many Soul Fam members who are going to be just as highly spiritual, profoundly dreamy and vastly empathetic as you are. You’re going to be very glad when the time comes for Soul Families to reunite in the upcoming couple of years~ YAY~!

soulmates & the na’vi
warning: there’s a bit of nsfw stuff in here. it is alluded to and mentioned towards the end, so proceed with caution
hear me out guys i swear i’m not crazy this makes total sense
rebirth is a crucial part of na’vi culture, and it is linked to their rituals and traditions. as neytiri mentions, energy is merely borrowed and must return to eywa through death. eventually, this energy/soul will be reborn through the new life cycle.
so, what if a soul was reborn into two during the same life cycle, each half destined to meet and reunite with the other?
soulmates would not be unheard of, but they’re definitely not common. just as there have only been 6 toruk maktos, there have only been a few fated pairs.
the na’vi have rituals which allow others to choose mates without being fated, but a soulmate pair would be sacred. you could not deny the connection, no matter who the two people are. they are tied to one another, uniting two parts of one soul.
there would be many signs and strange coincidences...
shared dreams and nightmares. they might not occur every time a soulmate falls asleep, but they are frequent. neither soulmate can see their other half, but they can still feel their spiritual presence. you’d often experience the dream through the other’s perspective, watching through your soulmate’s eyes as they control their movements.
intense senses of deja vu. a na’vi with a human soulmate who attended the school may experience it when learning english. if they have heard their soulmate say a phrase in english often, whether in a memory or a dream, they will recognize it. they may even begin to say it regularly.
for a human soulmate with a na’vi half, going to pandora at all would trigger deja vu, especially after seeing it in dreams.
speaking of shared memories, you’d often experience flashes of them in dreams or at random times of the day. it allows both the ability to peek into their soulmates life for just a few moments, but unable to alter the outcome of the situation.
acute shared emotions. overwhelming waves of happiness will trickle through the bond, elating you at the most random of times. sorrow that leaves both howling with pain. anger clouding the vision of both, leaving their minds foggy. arousal waking you in the wee hours of the night like a storm, buzzing at the edges of your mind and leaving you both panting with need.
na’vi and human soul bonds would be particularly complex and interesting. as you can both see each other’s memories and dreams, a human would be able to see pandora without ever stepping foot on the planet itself. they’d chalk up their dreams to a wild imagination or photos they saw on the internet, but they’d be unable to deny the feeling of freedom and belonging they felt sprinting through the lush, radiant forests of pandora. it’s almost as if they’d been doing it for years.
imagine the confusion and fear the na’vi half would feel if they began dreaming of pandora through the eyes of their human half. knowing they cannot protect them. they’re unsure if they can even forgive their human for siding with the RDA and avatar program. they’d most likely refuse to reach out for help from the tsahik or anyone else from their clan in fear of being exiled.
being around the other for the first time would be overwhelming. since avatars, humans, and recombinants are far less graceful at navigating the lands of pandora, i believe the na’vi half would be aware of their presence far before they’d notice the na’vi soulmate.
the na’vi soulmate following their soulmate around, chalking it up to trying to gather information on the enemy and their intentions. in reality, they crave the feeling of being around their soulmate. it’s a euphoric feeling, like seeing the vitraya ramunong for the first time.
introducing the na’vi’s soulmate to the clan would be a nightmare, but none would deny the avatar/recombinant/human of their fated mate. they’re accepted, although some may be wary.
depending on who the na’vi is, they might not immediately inform the other of their fated pairing. whether that be because they want the other to have authentic feelings for them without the looming thought of fate or because they don’t want to overwhelm their soulmate.
JEALOUSY. both sides definitely experience it. although they can feel that their soulmate has no interest in anyone else, they still get possessive at times. unconsciously wrapping an arm around the other, or trying to intimidate the other person talking to their mate.
MATING FOR THE FIRST TIME??? absolutely overwhelming. never feeling so fufilled physically and emotionally, as your souls finally bond to become whole again.
honestly, if heats are a thing for them? it would trigger it. i said what i said. these would be much longer than most heats, and far more feral than most. claw marks on backs, bruising on hips from trying to get deeper angles, hickeys over every inch of skin imaginable. they’d both feel the burning desire to claim the other from the inside out, and nothing will stop them from coaxing orgasm after orgasm out of their mate. just when you’d think they’re done, their hands would be on you again, mumbling out how beautiful you look when you’re begging.
no one would see either half for at least 24 hours. they’d become incredibly territorial over their other half, especially after being separated for so long.
comfortably knowing that someone will always love them, regardless of their flaws and strengths. they expect nothing but the most raw, pure form of their mate possible. they both know the other truly, and would fight for one another till their last breath.
hi! this is the first thing i’ve ever posted on this sideblog :) lots more to come because i have extreme brainrot from this franchise. hope you enjoyed this because i might do a part 2 just to elaborate (this was kind of just a brain  dump). my inbox is open if you want to send feedback, requests, or if you want to talk!!! - ky

SYNASTRY OBSERVATIONS PART THREE
Tumblr media
A friend who’s Sun belongs in your 11th house will introduce you to many new people, their popularity will rub off on you.
Ascendant Opposite Mars - I don’t even know where to begin with this one. So exciting for sure, sometimes terribly frustrating as well. If navigated correctly, the Mars person can push the Ascendant to grow. The Mars person is naturally ambitious and takes charge of their life, the Ascendant will learn from this and integrate this behavior into their own personality. Anger flairs rather easily between people who share this aspect, but it's never that deep and is usually settled quickly.
Venus in the 2nd house - Having the same taste in aesthetics, they like to spend money in similar ways.
Sun Trine Mars - This is a power duo. Both parties tackle goals better when together, they encourage each other with enthusiasm. Two people with this aspect see the best in one another, and are fully aware of each other's potential. They have fun in any situation and are highly energized by one another.
Saturn in the 1st House - Lifelong relationship, deeply karmic. Witnessing one another through struggle.
Pluto Opposite Moon - The Pluto person wants to take things to a deeper level, usually on the emotional sphere, but finds that the Moon person is too sensitive to handle such depth.
Jupiter in the 12th House - In a way, The Jupiter person feels like a guardian angel to the 12th houser. The Jupiter person seems to enter the 12th housers life when the least expect it, and they bring with them a series of blessings. The Jupiter person feels protective over the 12th houser, this is a deeply spiritual connection.
Ascendant Trine Uranus - Bringing out the weird side in one another. Neither party is afraid to bring up strange topics to one another. They go to each other first when struck with new ideas.
1st House stellium - Meeting each other at a young age, or at a point in time in which your identity and personality is highlighted and strengthened. You see each other for who you truly are. At times it may feel like both personalities are too big for one another.
12th House stellium - Constantly coming in and out of one another's lives. This relationship will see many endings.
Mars Conjunct Mars - These two people might have similar career goals. They move in a similar life direction because they are energized by the same things.
Jupiter in the 1st House - These two people feel like family to one another. They look like they belong together and a sense of familiarity is present from the start. They become their happiest selves around another another, and it is a relationship full of humor.
Sun Opposite Neptune - The Sun person might have to sacrifice a lot in order to remain in this relationship without the Neptune person even realizing it.
Sun in the 5th House - So many happy memories will be formed while together, a very easygoing and happy-go-lucky type relationships.
Moon in the 12th House - This always presents difficulties. There is an emotional disconnect present that is confusing to navigate.

Neytiri x Sibling!reader - spiritually
Tumblr media
Could I send an avatar request for being Neytiri’s younger sibling, please? - Anon💜
A/N: Na’vi will be written in italics
Standing behind your mother, hands on her back, you peaked around her to face your older sister and the strange na’vi she had brought here with her.
She translated for the male who couldn’t seem to understand your language and as you looked at him, you saw something familiar inside of him.
Similar to your sister in a way.
“(Y/N) what is it?” You mother whispered.
“Eywa has chosen him, we must respect her choice and have faith she has made it for a reason, correct?”
Your mother nodded and your father looked at you, holding his hand out.
Taking his hand, you let him pull your forward to stand next to him and you placed your hand on your forehead bowing a little.
“I see you.”
He copied you.
“I see you, speak my child, what are your thoughts?”
You turned to your sister and walked over, and she bowed her head a little at you and you did the same before walking around the man.
Jake he was called.
He dressed strangle, in clothes that belonged to the sky people’s. Yet he looked like you, just like Grace did, and you knew she was a sky person.
So he was the same you knew that for a fact.
Jake seemed to grow nervous as you looked at him, and you heard him whispering in English but you couldn’t understand what he was saying.
“This man knows nothing of our language, of our cultures and traditions.”
“But Eywa has chosen him (Y/N).”
You turned to Neytiri.
“I know, I am simply trying to figure out why. This man is no hunter, no healer, what can he do for us?”
Neytiri repeated this question to Jake who looked at you in confusion.
“I don’t understand.. who is this…?” Jake asked.
“My younger Sibling, (Y/N). They do not grace us often with their presence but they have chosen to come see for themselves.”
Jake nodded.
“I was a warrior.”
Neytiri translated everything he was saying to you and you nodded along.
“If Eywa has chosen it has been done. She has made her choice, we believe in her, I believe there is a reason why the great mother has sent him to us.”
“You a certain of this?” You father asked.
You nodded your head and he tasked your older sister with teaching Jake everything about your people and you left.
You made your way back to the top of the tree, sitting on one of the branches as you stared at the base of the sky people in the distance.
You were a peacemaker, you didn’t enjoy war or conflict, like your mother you were spiritual, you spoke and connected to Eywa and your ancestors through the souls.
You heard whispered among the voices of someone who would save your tribe, who would help fight the sky people.
Jake Sully was this man and you knew that.
You kept a close eye on him though, while your sister seemed fond of him and seemed to trust him you didn’t, and while he was learning to connect with his direhorse.
“He is a fool, he will never be one of us.” Tsu’tey grumbled.
You looked up from your perch on a rock, arms resting over your legs as you carefully watched.
“You cannot seriously think he will ever become one of us Neytiri.” He scoffed.
“He simply must learn.” She replied.
You hummed a little, nodding your head at her response.
“He’s going to get himself killed.”
“Tsu’tey, that is enough. We were all once new to this and had to learn, Jakesully is no different than any of the children.”
Tsu’tey grumbled but he knew better then to talk against you, he simply left.
Neytiri turned to face you, smiling.
“Thank you.”
You gave a small nod of your head.
“He is a slow learner, but he will get there eventually.”
Neytiri smiled and jumped up to sit behind you while you watched Jake try to wipe some mud away from his face.
He looked up at you and titled his head a little.
“Maybe you can teach me?”
He grinned a little and you smiled.
“You have a good grasp of our language. I am not the one tasked to help you learn however.”
“What is it you do exactly if you’re not a Hunter?”
“Jake!”
You placed a hand over your sisters to calm her down and turned back to the learning na’vi.
“I am spiritual leader, next in line after my mother. I speak on behalf of Eywa and interpret her will. I teach the lessons our ancestors speak and give consult to my other on what he must do.”
“Oh I see, you’re like second in command.”
“Fourth. After my father, mother and sister.”
“They seem to respect you a lot though.”
You jumped down, walking around Jake as you pat his direhorse on the head, pressing your forehead to yours stroking her gently.
“Respect must be earned, it is not given. We all make our choices Jakesully, you must ensure you are making the right ones.”
Jake walked around to look at you as you stepped away.
“What if I make the wrong one?”
“In life we make mistakes, that does not mean we cannot learn from them. You must follow your heart, it always knows the way. Eywa guides us, leads us. She is never wrong, neither is your heart.”
With that you left and Jake watched you go before turning to Neytiri.
“They’re very political.”
“They always have been. We know not why. But they are destined for great things I know.”
Neytiri smiled and Jake smiled as well.
“So can I get extra lessons from them on spirituality or whatever?”
Neytiri laughed a little.
“I’ll take to them, now, again.”

Okay, so I know the thought of Mario and Luigi having twin sense is essentially a shit of free serotonin straight to the brain, but consider:
They don't KNOW they have the Twin Sense until someone explains it to them, and upon looking back at their own history of all the times it happened, they have a serious Brother Feelings moment, realizing it means they've always had the other with them all this time, even when they were separated.
I'm not a twin myself so I can't speak on behalf of anyone who is, but I imagine with the Mario Bros - given how close they are - they always knew they have this twin sense.
Neither can ever describe to anyone else what it is or how it works, but to them, it's a feeling. A bond that is all the more precious and special because it belongs to just the both of them. They share this connection, and no one else can take it away from them.
some headcanons I have for this bond
I'm imagining scenarios where they can feel that the other is is danger, or just a sense of dread; like when they are kids in school and Mario just feels something is wrong, and sure enough, when he goes to look for Luigi, he finds his brother being picked on by bullies.
Or even during the events of the movie; Mario strangely feels hot, even though he's not anywhere near fire. And later on Luigi feels like he's suddenly been smacked in the face, even though he's been sitting in a cage.
These aren't intense feelings mind - more like looking in a distorted mirror - an observation than a full on experience.
I also headcanon that they can feel each other's emotions (joy, anger, sadness etc), but only under intense or very close situations.
And we mustn't forget what was described in Yoshi's Island!
"The bond between the twins informs each of them where the other one is"
It's never been confirmed if the Bros still have this ability in adulthood - but I headcanon that it's less prominent than when they were babies, simply because they are adults, and can look after themselves until they can reunite again. But I imagine they can do it if they focus and reach out to each other with their bond.
I've read fanfics in which a villain (mostly King Boo) finds out about their bond and proceeds to use dark magic to torture one of the twins, and in turn, the other feels it!
This does make me headcanon that if someone with truly dark magic was able to hurt souls, then it's gotta be 10x worse for the Bros because theirs are connected! Not only can they feel the other's pain, but it also sickens them, because someone has touched something so deep, so private, and so personal to the both of them. It would leave them so emotionally exhausted and broken because it hurts so bad. They might be left wanting to vomit.
I also added a bit into my own fic of them soul connecting, not just because it was integral to the story, but I also wanted to explore the idea a bit: imagine if you could soul bond with someone who you knew and loved your entire life. What would you see? How would the experience go?
Given that souls, hearts, and bonds do play a part in the Mario franchise, I figured it was perfect to try and figure out!
The Bros would not be scared at all, I imagine. Why would they? They trust each other more than anything. Why wouldn't they be more than comfortable having the chance to link on a spiritual level?
I know this is quite a mish mash of headcanons and canon itself, but it's interesting to share and contribute ideas!

Do you think there’s a meaningful distinction between “witches” and other magic users in the marvel universe (beyond, potentially, gender)?
Witch and warlock are obviously treated more or less as gender-swapped synonyms and both have somewhat negative connotations that don’t get associated with people like Dr Strange (afaik), but I feel like there might be more to it, I’m just not sure. Calling Nico or Billy a witch feels more accurate than calling Cleo or Victor a witch, but I can’t figure out if this is grounded in anything besides my own opinion
Yes, actually! We can identify social, cultural, mythical and practical factors distinguishing "witches" from other types of magicians. However, those distinctions are not always clear. As you noted, the word "witch" is often used very broadly to describe any female spellcaster. As a reader, you'll have to rely on context to determine whether the writer is denoting a specific type of magician, or just using gendered language.
Functionally speaking, all forms of magic are basically interchangeable. Most spellcasters have the same powers and abilities, and writers don't always put in the effort to make them feel unique. That doesn't necessarily bother me, so long as they are tailoring the language and imagery to suit each character's background, but that doesn't happen as often as I'd like. Again, you'll just need to use critical thinking to figure out when a lack of distinction is really just a lack of creativity and effort.
With that out of the way, let's break down what we do know about witchcraft, and the history of witches, in the Marvel world!
Tumblr media
Social: Witches have historically gathered in covens, settlements and societies, and have even endured literal witch-hunts. In real life, this is not quite the truth, but it Marvel comics, we can say that witches comprise distinct societies which suffer distinct forms of persecution. We also know that many witches belong to a magical lineage, and that these witch families often use a special naming convention to identify themselves with unique colors and symbols, indicating that witches have unique customs and traditions setting them apart.
Cultural: In Marvel comics, all forms of magical or spiritual folk practice are literally real, in the same way that all mythologies and polytheistic religions are literally real-- Asgard is a real place, Thor is a real person, and spells have real power. Witchcraft is typically represented as a form of European folk magic. Other traditions, such as vodou, voodoo, and multiple forms of Indigenous spirituality have also been demonstrated, and are often grouped together, along with witchcraft, under a broad category of "cultural magic." As shown in Midnight Suns, many of these traditions from around the world have a certain shared history, as the Coven at Mount Wundagore included representatives from numerous cultures.
Mythological: "Witchcraft" itself exists as an abstract entity, like Death, Nightmare, or Eternity. She is the source of witchcraft's power, but also a symbolic representation of all witches and the natural balance of magic, and she is sometimes worshipped as a goddess. Witchcraft resides at the heart of the Witches' Road, an Inner Plane uniquely accessible to witches that transcends time and is connected to many of the mythical realms. Witchcraft may also be intrinsically connected to chaos magic-- ancient witches were responsible for binding and harnessing Earth's natural chaos magic; Witchcraft, the entity, is shown consorting with an abstract Chaos entity; and we know that Wundagore and the Darkhold are connected to many cults and covens throughout history.
Practical: Unfortunately, this is the weakest area. For a brief time, Wanda's magical practice borrowed a lot of Wiccan motifs, which was problematic in its own right, but in modern comics, we just don't get to see enough of how witches, specifically, do magic. Most characters who practice some form of traditional magic have a closer connection to natural elements and the spirit world, and they may have particular powers related to their background. Doctor Voodoo is a great example, although the actual depiction of his culture is deeply flawed. Scarlet Witch (2015) introduced certain unique abilities, such as witches' sight; specific mechanics around the cost of magic; and a style of spellcasting that relied on Wanda's knowledge of real-world languages and magical symbols. Billy and Nico also use varying degrees of wordplay, so I like this approach and I would focus on building that into a cohesive magical system if I was a writer.

Saturn in Pisces Transit
🪐It will bring more spirituality, dreams. You will go deeper into the things you do. Saturn in Pisces is the perfect time to look inward. Connect with that daydream of writing a book or opening a business. Clear the mind, breathe and enjoyment. This is the time to gather up all those details we've imagined and plan out how to make things happen. This is a great time to cultivate inner calm: meditate, go for a walk in the woods, breathe deeply. Things will become easier, more dreamy.
🎨I use placidus system of houses. Here it depends how big your house is, because with some rising signs saturn can stay in the same house for awhile.
🔥Aries Rising—> Saturn in 12th house You can take a break from your career, work and everything. You can move away from the public and not be so exposed anymore. You will start to connect more with your subconscious. Many things can be karmic at this time. This is the end of an old cycle. This is a period of self-discovery where you’ll withdraw from the expectations of others in order to find out for yourself who you are on the deepest level. You can meet many karmic people who will teach you something. Saturn wants you to let go of your past way of doing things and define new values and ideals for the future. Everything that will happen to you during this time will represent some meaning behind it. You’ll be left with the things that really matter to you. Maybe the path can seem scary at times, but in the end you will get through it. I remember my saturn transit, which was chaotic, strange, crisis, I ended many friendships and also one relationship. But in the end I experienced a big transformation of myself and many beautiful things happened.
⚡️Taurus Rising—>Saturn in 11th house
You’ll have to face up to the reality of the way you’ve been living: what you’ve done, what you’ve failed to do, and what you should do in the future, especially in relation to other people and society in general. How you treat others will reflect back on you now. This transit helps you to gain insight into your expectations of others, and theirs of you, and any hidden agendas or motivations behind your social commitments. It’s a good time to explore your personal objectives and define who you want to be. Your friendships and associations may be tested and you might change friends if the old ones no longer share your sense of purpose.
🪴Gemini Rising —> Saturn in 10th house
You will deal a lot with your career, what you want to do, what interests you. You might gain recognition for your work and achieve your long-term career goals now. But it can also be a time of frustration and anxiety, and you may feel weighed down with duties and obligations in your work even if things are going well. This transit will help you to discover what works and what doesn’t. There may be both gains and losses, success and failure, some people will help you, while others put up obstacles. You’re taking a leap of faith into the unknown and the results will be unpredictable. You may question your purpose in life. This transit is about rising to the challenge of becoming you and finding a place where you belong in the world.
🌸Cancer Rising—>Saturn in 9th house
Saturn can bring you a lot of distrust in your beliefs or questions about life. Maybe you will start to wonder if the path you are choosing is the right one and if the life you are living is the way you wanted it to be. You will start to take life and the world around you seriously. Saturn will encourage you to investigate and face your ultimate beliefs and test them against reality to see if they serve your highest goals. Everything that you’ve been through and learned can now be transformed into wisdom. This transit is good for learning and studying and deepening your understanding of life.
🌹Leo Rising —>Saturn in 8th house
You will go through a profound period of yourself and your emotions. There can be a lot of connection with inheritance, other people's money, investing. You’re challenged to transform and redefine yourself down to the most basic levels of identity. It’s about ending old life patterns and letting go of desires and attachments to whatever is holding you back. Saturn will force you to confront whatever you’ve been denying or avoiding. You might need to face your darkest fears so you can finally let them go. Your experiences now could bring questions about the meaning of life and death. You can explore a lot more, delve deeper and do things in the shadows.
🧜🏼‍♀️Virgo Rising —>Saturn in 7th house
You can enter into a serious relationship or attract more people who are serious and have serious intentions with you. You must reconcile and balance your needs, goals, and habits, with those of the people closest to you. You can attract many romantic relationships or persons into your life. At the same time, you can start a relationship with someone who is destined for you. You meet people who make you look at yourself in a new way. All your relationships will be tested now, but it’s most likely to affect your closest or most significant partnership or marriage. Saturn makes you more aware of your relationship needs, limitations, and duties. What do you want and what you need. You will also have more realistic view on relationships. Only relationships that aren’t based on something real and sustainable will fall apart.
✨Part 2 is coming soon✨

Not to project onto a pair of near-celestial twins but something that just strikes me so much about Nai and the higher dimension is that yes, he’s pretty unhinged at this point, but he’s at the core remaking the world in his image because...he is trying to make a world where he and Vash belong.
He and Vash, for as long as they have lived and understood, are the only Independents. They’re the only ones on this whole planet, maybe universe, at this point in time where they are both Plant and human. They live in a society that is so hostile to Plants, but they also cannot exist in the same way as Plants. They have the shape and form and body of humans, but they will never be accepted as fully human if anyone were to truly know who they are.
And they will never fully understand or relate to either humans or Plants. They’re too human to be Plant, too Plant to be human. They are literally the only one of their kind, maybe soon to be the last at the rate that humans exhaust their Plants. They’re so isolated and reminded how different they are from both humans and Plants, how their way of existence is so strange and unknown. That must be so lonely.
The only other person who can ever understand this is their brother. And--they’re not exactly on talking terms.
And to Nai, Vash is trying so hard to assimilate to humans but is chasing a fool’s dream. Because to him, humans will never truly accept Vash. Vash can eat and walk and talk like them, but he will never be enough for them, he will never be safe among them. They’ll let him do their chores and fix their problems, but he will be their scapegoat the moment things turn south. Vash will never belong, and it drives Nai to madness and grief that Vash keeps trying.
I can almost imagine Nai seeing the higher dimension as a homecoming. This is where all Plants’ existence draw from, the one place that connects him to other Plants when he cannot fully connect with them in other ways. A spiritual homeland that he has never been able to set foot in before Vash. He can finally be fully Plant like their Sisters, exist in a way that they do without any more barriers. This is how he can subsequently make the rest of their physical world in such an exact way where everyone around him is like him, where he and Vash are not the only ones living out this lonely, unique existence. Where they will not the last ones left of their dying kind.
And then, he’s cut off from the homeland for good. And he’s never going back.

I'm confused. I feel like an angel sometimes and yet I'm so very human. I don't know where to go from here. Any advice?
Hi there! I see you and I hear you.
Being an angel is a strange experience. On one hand, we're physically human and we can't change that. But on the other hand, we're more than that. We're too big for our bodies, we have a power in our veins that we can't express.
Personally, I'm spiritual 'kin and an Abrahamic angel (this means that I was an angel in a past life, my first life actually). I was created by my Father as one of His first children, to be the protector of His world. Angels and humans, while different, were created as my Father's children equally. Knowing this helps me come to terms with my humanity - I am not any less angelic, for being human.
Your current body does not limit your spirit and your soul! If you are an angel or any other angelic being, let nobody tell you otherwise.
I don't know if your angelic identity is related to a specific religion like mine is, but it doesn't matter even if it is! All angels are unique, and none of us are lesser than any other.
If I may suggest some things that help me connect to my angelic identity: volunteering, practising my religion (I'm a practising pagan, which is totally different from the religion I belonged to as an angel, hilariously enough), wearing white, loose and flowy clothes, dancing in nature no matter the weather, and doing creative crafts.
Obviously those are just for me (especially the religion part lol), but maybe some of them might help you!
Every angel's experince is different, and there is no right or wrong way to be an angel.
Apologies if this just looks like an angel's rambling, because that's exactly what it is. Feel free to hit me up on my kinblr @seasonofanangel to chat more!
All my love, Seraphiel <3

Does Dan McClellan ever explain how he's a Mormon? I started listening to Data Over Dogma the other day, thanks your regular comments about it, and I'm absolutely boggled that this dude can say this shit and then go to church on Sunday.
he talked about his biography in his Mormon Stories appearance. he converted as an adult, around 19 or 20--he describes himself as feeling kind of aimless in life, having social connections through friends and family members to the mormon church, and being drawn to it that way. inferring a little bit from the context, he seems to have landed within a pocket of mormons that were either pretty pro-lgbt or not strenuously anti-lgbt--enough that that didn't put him off, given his agnostic and not particularly conservative background.
he's an interesting case, for sure! he explicitly avoids talking about his personal beliefs, so i can only guess what his exact though process was. but the impression i get is someone who 1) was strongly drawn to the social aspects of organized religion (and mormonism is very tight-knit socially), 2) was willing to suspend judgement on the more out-there elements of doctrine (the really off-the-wall historical stuff), and 3) isn't too pressed about the truth claims element of religion, or doesn't personally find that the most important part of religious experience and feeling.
and yet it is still kind of strange to me to listen to someone who is very thoughtful about the cognitive science of religion, who deeply understands the textual history of religious scripture, and who understands why you can't use faith-based arguments as part of any coherent methodology in the analysis of that scripture, to try to mount a defense of religiosity in general. i mean plainly people can do it. but i can't imagine how, unless there is some deep cognitive dissonance at work. i think that even if the truth claims of religion aren't the most important part of religion to you, they're plainly incredibly important when it comes to, like, how religious traditions are differentiated--if the truth claims don't matter, there's much less reason to be mormon vs episcopalian vs baptist.
i could see salvaging out of all that some kind of general moral therapeutic deism, or ultra-reformed judaism, or other spiritual-but-not-dogmatically-religious worldview--but belonging to an avowedly dogmatic, hierarchically organized religious institution, with the kind of internal discipline that means members like dan are (let us be charitable) less than entirely open with their criticisms less they face larger-scale social consequences--a problem not even modern Catholics face--and one which is nonetheless built on an unusually recent, and unusually disprovable set of truth claims like mormonism is--like, idk. it's really hard to imagine someone who knew all the stuff he knows about biblical history being drawn to mormonism if he had learned that stuff first. and if that's true that feels kind of like an indictment of the religion? like it really is mostly contingent features we don't care about in any deep way.
that makes more sense for ethnoreligions like judaism, and out of all american religions, mormonism is probably closest to being an ethnoreligion itself. it's pretty culturally insular compared to mainline protestantism. even most flavors of fundamentalist evangelicalism. the closest analogue is maybe the primitive baptists? and they're a tiny denomination. but if it was really a self-sustaining culture it probably wouldn't need a centralized hierarchy that excommunicated dissenters who got too big a public profile for criticizing the church.

Hello! I have a question about your kuroxtwst au, I'm sorry if this was asked before, I tried checking but couldn't find anything like this.
It's implied in the game that Sam has contact with the spiritual world, and I'm wondering if he has ever felt something off about Ciel thanks to that? Or if any spirit has acted strange around Ciel.
Maybe a spirit tried giving him a heads up about the strange child with an eyepatch?
Idk, it was something that catched my attention because of the possibilities of interactions between those two asdfghk and I got curious-
Anyways, I love this au, thanks for bringing attention to the great crossover that its kuroshitsuji and twst! Love your art!!!
(Oh, and happy belated b-day! Hope you had a great day!!!!)
Thank you very much for the kind words and congratulations!☺️💕💕💕💕 It's okay <3
I'LL EXPLAIN IT NOW!✨
Sam and the other teachers immediately feel that something is wrong with Ciel. And experienced students like Leona, Malleus and Lilia too. But the students do not understand this immediately, I think they needed to concentrate and really try to feel something (Ciel doesn't have any magic after all, this black magic belongs to Sebastian. Ciel just has a "confirmation" that black magic is connected to him, but he doesn't have one, ofc. After Sebastian's appearance, Ciel's suspicious aura will become really stronger)
Once I actually answered the question of the interaction of these two:
Tumblr media
I think spirits, Sam (and also ghosts) knew better than anyone that Ciel was connected to something bad. Maybe it's hard for them to believe it because it's still a child, or even if they somehow ask Ciel something, he can just say nothing or change the subject💔
In general, it will be really difficult for Sebastian and Ciel! I'd like to draw some epic scene about them and Sam XDD💕💕💕
I hope I explained everything clearly and interestingly💦💦 Feel free to ask anything else. Thanks for the question!😊💗💖💗💖

FFXVI Rewrite Part 4: Overhauling Waloed and Barnabas
I was dissatisfied with Anabella's character in the original game. She's built up as this greater antagonist on par with Barnabas and implied to have a connection to Ultima and the greater working of the plot and then all this comes to nothing as Ultima has possessed Olivier and is the actual mastermind. Additionally, Anabella highly parallels Ultima as they are both the demiurges of Gnosticism, evil and controlling creator figures that see their creations as wholly belonging to and existing for their sake. To Ultima and Anabella their creations are not independent of them, their creations/children should have no independent will, they are the ones who make decisions and their creations obey. This like all the themes in FFXVI is underdeveloped and I intend to change that by deepening the themes of free will, creation and creator, master and slave, existence before essence, and the weight of choice.
In this rewrite I'm going to keep Anabella just as reprehensible and classist as she is in the actual game but I'm going to give her more agency as a character and this is where things really change. Here Olivier has not been possessed, Anabella think him Greagor a god incarnate and convinces the Emperor but he's really just a spoiled dependent boy. In the scene where Dion goes berserk it is Anabella that triggers it not Ultima. Anabella goads him and Olivier not really knowing or caring what is going on but of course his mother is always right joins in and goes a step further. Dion kills his father just like Anabella plans and as she plays victim screaming that he's a kinslayer she hurls an Ultima imbued shard of the Mothercrystal at Dion. The crystal connects Dion with the Mothercrystal and floods him with aether with combined with his instability causes him to go berserk. As the city burns there's a scene of Anabella riding off in a carriage holding Olivier and smirking. Then Phoenix flies overhead locked in battle and we see Anabella falter as she stares up at Phoenix.
During the first week of the game’s release, I was speculating whether Anabella was Clive's biological mother at all (or if Elwin was Joshua’s father) given the strange and tense family dynamics of the Rosfields as well as how dissimilar Clive and Anabella look. However, since finishing the game and coming to understand that Anabella was designed as a foil character to Ultima, it does make more sense that Clive is her biological son. For both Ultima and Anabella Clive is their failed creation, the one that went astray. They are both interpretations of the Demiurge which in Gnosticism is the creator of the material world, the material world being fake and an evil prison to keep people from the true holy spiritual world, so the Demiurge is the evil controlling god trying to keep humans from true existence. In this rewrite I want to enhance the existing themes in the game from its Gnostic symbolism, to that of the relationships between creator and creator, master and slave. Making clear that Clive is Anabella’s son enhances these themes. Anabella doesn’t hate Clive because Elwin cheated on her and is forcing her see proof of their unequal status and powerlessness every day, Anabella hates Clive because she feels she owns him as his mother and that he has failed her arbitrary and impossible expectations by daring first to not manifest the Phoenix and then to dare have positive attributes and overshadow her younger son who did manifest the Phoenix. Anabella hates Clive for incredibly stupid, self-centered, and petty reasons.
Now comes the hard part where I break the original FFXVI’s plot across my knee and throw the whole thing out the window because the Waloed section through to the end of the game was a mess. First let me discuss what the writers tried to do and how they failed. King Barnabas was intended as Ultima’s successful creation to foil Clive as the failed creation. Clive asserts his independent will, his desire to live on his own terms, and that he will throw down all shackles forces upon him. Barnabas has forfeited his will and individuality for a life of religious devotion as Ultima’s puppet. Conceptually this isn't bad, the problem is in execution. Barnabas ended up being incredibly disappointing and boring as a character. For all Ultima and Barnabas' discussions of severing the ties of consciousness between Clive and his companions, they don't do anything or pose any sort of narrative threat. There are no stakes to this arc beyond a distant feeling that the world might end. Ultima shows up and has pointless conversations with Clive that go nowhere, establish nothing, and do nothing to progress the plot or stakes. From a character motivation standpoint at this point of the game Clive is doing exactly what Ultima wants so there’s no reason for Ultima to keep talking to Clive either. FFXVI tries to portray religious extremism and fails miserably. The game does little to establish religion and belief as a main theme in the game despite it being present in the background, the says nothing meaningful about religion and the only thing mildly interesting to happen, happens in an easily missed sidequest for the Undying.
Originally, I did consider trying to build off of this foiling of the slave to religion vs. the free man but to make it work actually involves changing more of the plot than the alternative and it just kept writing itself into a corner. A lot more would have needed to be done with religion earlier in the game, perhaps exploring how the different culture’s in Valisthea had different belief systems and interacting with how their various beliefs, theologies, and philosophies play out. They also could have had a story arc about how religion is used to subjugate, indoctrinate, and control people. More could have been done tying Ultima to the major religions of Valisthea like how Greagor is actually Ultima. Ultima and Barnabas should have followed through with those threats to sever the bounds of consciousness and started killing off the entire cast. The Hideaway should have been invaded and destroyed and the hub area lost. Otto, Mid, Vivian, Harpocrates, and eventually Gav, Jill, and Joshua. This would all have had massive gameplay and story implications and at that point I thought this was too much work for something I’m doing for fun, it’s not like Squeenix is paying me to fix their writing problems.
The solution I decided on completely flips Barnabas’ character and ideology, and ironically that changes less of the story than trying to stay true to the writers’ intentions. In this rewrite Barnabas still foils Clive but in the completely opposite way he does in the actual game. Here Barnabas is also a proponent of free will but in contrast with Clive’s more community minded approach to raising people up, Barnabas’ meaning of free will is the ability for him to impose his will over other people. Cid and Clive respect the rights and wills of all people while new Barnabas only respects his own will. Because Waloed no longer serves Ultima, the invasions of Dhalmek and Kanver here are due to Tharmr’s global conquest ambitions and to a lesser degree him shoring up resources to take on Ultima.
Barnabas here is in some ways a Übermensch, he is someone who has transcended all measure of human morality to create his own values to live by, someone who commands, creates and strikes his own path instead of obeying or following, someone powerful who’s power comes from them and not society. This new version of Barnabas has ironically cast aside religion and gods much like an Übermensch who Nietzche’s speculated would rise in the void of faith after the fall of Christian morality, to rise above humanity and gods both as a new being. As a critique of the concept, this Barnabas is also a self-centered and violent tyrant with no care for others, delusions of grandeur, and dreams of conquest and subjugation to bend lesser men to his will in a might equals right world. Benedrikta found Barnabas’ veneer of power alluring as she too desired power while Cid initially optimistic of the new world order Barnabas was trying to forge eventually grew disillusioned and bitter at his disregard for other people. Of note is that Barnabas does not have Ultima’s magic anti-aging serum in this version of events, the similar lack of aging was why I suspected Anabella to be similarly involved early on but that just ended up being a plot hole in the original game. There are two options to deal with this, first that Barnabas is an old man in his 60’s adding a layer of desperation to his conquests though that would not explain the lull in activity in recent years in in the actual game is explained by his contact with Ultima. The other option is that the timeline is changed so that the conquest of Ash is more recent.
Similar strongman archetypes to this new version of Barnabas can be found in the Chaos Heroes of the Shin Megami Tensei main games especially the early games, and in Walhart from Fire Emblem: Awakening. I want to discuss Walhart further because this Barnabas has ended up being a very similar character. Both are ruthless dictators seeking to take over the world who will destroy all opposition with force, they see themselves as the strongest, both refuse to bow to or worship anything. They would both unite the armies of the world to destroy the evil gods who would seek to end the world and the party defeating them ironically makes it easier for the evil god characters to destroy the world as the party just removed one of their obstacles for them. This focus on power and individual merit while deemphasizing position and background likewise justifies Waloed as the only nation accepting of beastmen into its military ranks. Barnabas doesn’t care who you are he care what you can do, it’s how outlanders like himself, Cid, or Benedrikta rose so high in the ranks.
The next arc will be Waloed and the destruction of the 5th and final Mothercrystal, Drakes Spine. With the nations of Storm in shambles, the war machine of Waloed rumbles and they prepare a full-scale invasion of Storm. The party must scramble to unite factions that were just at war with each other to prepare for the full-on invasion. They aim to strike the heart of Waloed before the war ships launch hoping to throw Waloed into disarray. The plan is to split the party with one group rallying around Kanver to make a stand while another infiltrates and destroys Drake’s Spine. By this point Clive and Ifrit have gotten famous or perhaps infamous as the most powerful man on Storm and Barnabas is coming to challenge him directly as such Clive will be at the front of the defense hoping to kill Barnabas and dissolve his empire. Joshua will be leading a small party into Waloed and the one with the most experience with Mothercrystals. Joshua will then become the main playable character during this section with cutscenes showing Clive organizing the people of Storm and forming a rapport with Dion as another man who’s eikon went berserk and destroyed the people he’d sworn to protect they are both knights who failed. The rest of the party hasn’t quite been set in stone but I think Gav and Jote would go with Joshua and that Clive would send Torgal to look after Joshua. Ash isn’t quite as desolate as it is in the actual game but between the conscriptions, the heavy taxes, the blight, and the increased monster activity (Fallen, spectres and wraith type enemies) it is still pretty bad in Ash. As such getting to Drake’s Spine will involve a lot more stealth than it does in the real game but they get there as its garrisons have emptied for war and make their way to the heart of the Mothercrystal. This section of the game introduces the Circle of Malius which worships Ultima and part of exploring Ash is Joshua going to those ruins and learning how their teachings say that Ultima created humanity and that humanity should serve because it is their destiny and purpose. During the Waloed section there’s a brief cutscene of a pan shot of Anabella and an escort party walking through Fallen architecture.
While Joshua makes his way through the fortress to the Mothercrystal, the fight for Kanver begins and at the climax of both events Clive faces off against Barnabas at the same time that Joshua meets Sleipnir in Drake’s Spine who was ordered to stay behind because Waloed suspected something like this might happen. Gameplay then switches between the two battles with eikonic titans Ifrit and Odin clashing and splitting the sea, while contrasted to Joshua and Sleipnir dueling with rapiers across the crystal floor. As the Vassal of Odin Sleipnir is more than enough to hold off Joshua and Joshua is forced to semi-prime to stand a chance, further risking his health. Sleipnir here is not an egi and extension of Odin, instead he is a normal human man who believes in new Barnabas’ ideals and is loyal to him. Eventually both Joshua and Clive manage to kill their opponents, on screen it should be a split perspective for the final blow with both Joshua and Clive striking down their opponents at the same time.
The Barnabas and Clive fight is a battle of ideals. Both characters are proponents of free will and that people should be able to live on their own terms but they have wildly different interpretations as to what this looks like implemented in the real world. Inevitably some person’s terms will clash with another person’s terms. Barnabas sees this as a matter of individual strength, that one must be strong to be able to decide their own life, to rise beyond the masses and take life by the reins. The rule of the jungle where the strong have the power to do whatever they want, and if the weak want change than all they have to do is become stronger. Clive is more cooperation and community minded; it is about everyone lifting each other up to a better life. There’s the paradox of tolerance in that if a community tolerates intolerance for certain people that community will become as intolerant and bigoted as possible, so to maintain tolerance and equal rights intolerance must not be tolerated. To ensure the rights of all, some times limits need to be put on people, especially limits on the rich and powerful. I do wish the actual game had engaged with Clive’s life experiences more because he’s seen first hand the social determinants of health and how society treats those it doesn’t care about, the least protected. Another change is that I would make the Barnabas Clive fight much more exciting. Anticlimactic fights are fine but they have to be done with purpose (as I intend to do later), a fight is anticlimactic to contrast it with other fights or to drive home an emotional point in the narrative, but the lack of excitement in the original fight serves no purpose, its just boring. Some ideas I have are for the fight to be over the water with Odin cleaving the ocean into several parts and Ifrit hoping between and boiling away parts of the ocean to clear a path. I’m not a fight choreographer but this fight needs to be big and as flashy and impressive as the others in the game.

Further Thoughts On Plot Development in ACOTAR
What if Beron lays claim to Elain because he wants to use her powers to assist in whatever he’s got going on with Koschei? As Lucien’s mate, he can pull some type of Autumn Court bs and say she belongs to them. I SAY this, because why is Lucien’s mom still at Autumn? There has to be something more that keeps her there. Maybe Beron threatened her with something and she endures being by his side to hold up some bargain we don’t know about. Eris, FOR SURE, is withholding many secrets, and it’s blatantly obvious he’s being set up for a redemption. My point, though, is that Beron has to be even more terrible than we know for Eris to want him dead. There’s something about this family, and how the entire autumn court isn’t allowed to leave their strange little palace without the High Lord knowing about it, that isn’t sitting right with me. There are signs that point to Lucien’s mom being somewhat proud of Eris, so they may have a closer connection than we are aware.
In this same train of thought, what if the blood duel becomes something moreso Night Court vs Autumn Court? So it’s slightly higher stakes than just two men fighting for one woman — and THIS is how Beron dies. Because, I’ll be honest, I don’t see Lucien particularly inspired into throwing himself into a blood duel at this point in the narrative. First of all, it would be such a betrayal to Feyre. Second of all, Elain hasn’t given any indication she wants him to fight for her. Also, it’s too simple for SJM. When Tamlin pulled his bullshit to steal Feyre back from Rhys, it was part of a bigger political gamble.
BUT, there is a buildup to all of this, which is what’s eluding me. Because I’m pretty sure, if Beron tried to announce a blood duel for ownership of Elain, SOMEONE (either Lady Autumn Court or Feyre, unless they use it as a manipulation tactic and keep it a secret from Lucien) would speak up about Lucien being Helion’s son. Thus sparing him from Azriel inevitably slaughtering him, which is why I think the courts will be pulled into this.
The legacy of day court is also eluding me - I’ve mentioned before that I was leaning towards Elain’s story being a decision between Night and Day court; but inevitably ending up in Dusk Court with Azriel. Choosing her own way, and fulfilling all of the foreshadowing we’ve received associating with this blend of Night & Day between them. This would majorly tie in any need to go into the Prison, to reveal some Dusk Court secrets which will help them overthrow Koschei. But having Lucien being the heir to Day is where I stop to question why?? Narratively, what does this serve? Other than to fulfill the foreshadowing that Lucien has more to prove than what he’s letting on and he’s wasted as an emissary. (The parallel to Elain here isn’t lost on me, btw)
Also, I have an inexplicable feeling the story between Lucien and the lady who made his eye isn’t over. That was left too open ended and mysterious for it to not be brought up again. She risked everything to make him a new eye under Amarantha’s reign? That’s a lot for just a friend.
Tying Azriel into the story is something completely shrouded in mystery for me, aside from being the obvious love interest, and this is why I think he has some familial tie to Koschei, or to Princes of Hel, or SOMETHING. (Also, can I take this moment to point out how Azriel is the most spiritual of the IC? When he kept invoking the Mother in ACOSF, I was pleasantly surprised. He does it a few times, too.) His line about not knowing where he belongs is TOO SIGNIFICANT for his story to not be explored and resolved. Cassian was given more relevance to ACOSF by making him a courtier in training, because SJM needed him to have access to Eris. Azriel is already a spy, AND Elain’s LI, AND has caught the attention of Koschei, AND his lineage is the most mysterious to us.
There’s enough here for another 800 page book.

As promised, here is the Bloom biography ya'll!!! | Winx Rewrite
Info:
15 years old
Sagittarius ♐
Height: 1.71m
Possibly schizo or spiritually connected to something 🌼
Her favourite genre is Fantasy
She sometimes makes tea for herself, especially mint
Her favourite movie is the Hunger Games
Has dyed her hair a couple of times, like Musa
Helps her mum with gardening often
Bloom is (still) the fairy of the Dragon Flame.
BACKSTORY
Bloom was deported from her home planet, Nyxahon, as a baby when an invention of teleportation was discovered, and Daphne, her sister, accidentally sent Bloom through somewhere, thus the redhead ended up on Earth.
She was soon adopted by a family. They weren't exactly the best, and they were also pretty strict. But there could've been far worse.
Bloom went to school in the human world until she was approximately 10, I guess? But she's never felt a sense of belonging, and felt alienated from everyone else. Even worse, she's been hearing a voice in her head since she was a kid, it spoke a foreign language, but strangely, Bloom could understand it. She actually kept the voice a secret from everyone so she wouldn't be sent to a psychic ward.
Her 1st foster family died when she was 11 (I think). The cause is unknown. Bloom walked and walked for days in the woods, and accidentally entered the Magix world, cut off from humans entirely. Then an accident happened to Bloom in which she lost a portion of the memories of her 1st foster family, but then she was taken in by Mike and Vanessa.
And yeah, the Winx plot continues.

Worship.
Tumblr media
The act of engaging in worship over the time of Thoma's life has reached uncomfortable connotations. Within Inazuma, the reverence to these greater powers are no strange custom, as much of its culture found itself rooted giving such reverence towards beings like the Raiden Shogun and Orobashi respectively. While the latter hadn't been an issue, the former found itself to be a beast as dangerous then the actual Shogun, being a personal opponent after disrupting the 100th Vision Ceremony.
It allowed him to take witness of a different brand of clarity. To see how this said faith that grants great spiritual strength and durability, could also lead them to any justification or brazen bravery to oblivion and beyond in the name for this belief. It's.. complicated to him, he long since learned within the house of the Kamisato of this history, honored it as their customs, and to a degree took part in these ceremonies as a gesture of respect and good faith.
Catching such a connective wire to the soul being extended to misuse serves as an entirely different beast.
Within his part in the Vision Hunt Decree, amidst his escape from the Tenryou and Bounty Hunters alike, there was a particularly horrific tale he's come across during that fight heavy retreat--
The Tragedy of Higi Village.
Within this domain terrorized by the war, and left to rot with what little resources and deals kept it afloat, taking refuge in the skeletal remnants of this bygone village had opened the chapter to a horrific story. It all began with the discovery of particular notes, elevated to mysteriously scatters belongings, bathed in long since rusted blood, only for the ledgers to soon be unearthed as well.
Worship also found itself taken root within this area, akin to a poisonous vein as the sickening tale unearthed itself. Sickness was being made as a ruse, and the cases that sound like a spiritual journey was in fact the tailcoats of murder performed at an asinine degree, men, women and children alike finding themselves horrifically vulnerable as their caretaker was also their banisher.
Tumblr media
Thoma never did discover the root cause of what begin these 'sacrificial rites', and only the agonizingly small hint of this 'him' being the motivational source of this madness only added to the twisted picture this drew out to him. Even if he's aware that the Tatarigami heavily permeated this area, the ill effects it carved onto the psyche usually lead to violence.. never something calculated.
This story and the later time of Inazuma at large before his departure has left him with a disturbed, bitter taste in his mouth on this matter. While his belief in the Seven and amiable gods is not swayed and is in the process of being re-contextualized, these acts of reverence will never find themselves being performed by him in earnest. A measure of respect for good they've brought to the world, but never can he let himself be thrust into such destructive blindness.
His faith is carried only for his values and those he truly trusts.
