Part 2 Ateez storyline

Deja Vu

The beginning of the music video gives me the vibe of sexy spies/thieves that enter a museum to steal something really valuable (which is almost exactly what they are doing, except the stealing part).

From Fever ep. 3- Diary entry

4. Wooyoung

1. The late afternoon of the following day, we finally arrived on the island. From the elongated shadows of the afternoon sun, I could see pensions and sunbeds. When I stepped onto the sand. I could feel the heat rising. The island was considered a tourist paradise in the past. However, nobody had visited this island for their holidays anymore since taking a rest and trip became meaningless and worthless in this world.

2. To escape quickly, Left Eye and the Grimes Siblings stayed in the ship. We walked down the island to look for the place, called the Android Guardian bunker. And we easily found the place, which was blowing off golden yellow steam on this isolated island. When we got there, it was a gallery in the middle of the island. Gallery… They banned all kinds of art - funny of them to settle and build their bunker there. We passed along the empty lobby and went towards the exhibition. The golden yellow steam continually spurted from where an arrow indicated an exhibition route.

3. Some drunk Android Guardians were lying on the floor. And at the end of its view, I could see the Men in Black Fedora were in a glass prison.

*The first part of Wooyoung’s paragraph should be kept in mind when I get to Eternal Sunshine.

After entering the museum, Ateez meet The Black Pirates who are locked up in a glass prison:

5. Hongjoong

1 There was a man at the end of the smoky road. To be more specific, they were there, the Men in Black Fedora that we met in our dreams. One person was leaning on the wall, hardly on their feet and my instinct said that I must save them.

2 I threw myself to the glass wall. It did not move. I bumped into it again. The man finally heard the noise and saw me.

3 “Finally, you are here.”

He said, and he barely took off his mask.

As I saw his face, I was in shock. He was me. The man had exactly the same face as mine.

4 “Listen, we called you here.”

In the midst of these strange incidents, I could only shake my head.

5 “We are captured here, and somebody has to do our work. You may have noticed it. This world needs a change.”

6 “Why does it have to be us? Why do we share the same face?”

I kept questioning him and tried to break the glass wall between us. But not even a small crack.

7 “I don’t have enough time to tell you the whole story. We are going to be seen by the guardians when the smoke fades. Do what I do.”

The man put his hand on the glass wall and told us to copy him. So we put our hands like he did.

8 “We all face walls. Sometimes we think that our lives would be happier without walls but that is not true. If we earn things easily, we could lose them easily.”

The man and I faced each other, and I felt some indescribable energy swirling near us, regardless of this unbelievable reality - the men with the same faces as us, endless questions about this world and everything. Soon after, we were wearing their black suits without even noticing.

As you can see in Hongjoong’s paragraph, after meeting the imprisoned Black Pirates, we finally find out why Ateez were called to the New World by these men in black fedoras:

To pass their roles as the leaders of the rebellion to Ateez because they knew they (the Black pirates) were unable to escape the prison, and somebody needed to lead the rebels. So they found Ateez, who look like them and can replace them without anyone noticing (well…except for the witness…but I’ll come back to this when I talk about Halazia).

With these things in mind, in the Deja Vu MV, we can see this exchange of roles by looking at the difference between them dressed up casually (before the appearance of Black Pirate Hongjoong) and them dressed up in their new suits (after the appearance of Black Pirate Hongjoong). This indicates exactly that the switch happened in the MV just like in the diary entry marked with red.

(And yes, they are not all in black suits, but I think this has more to do with a stylistic choice rather than lore. The important part is that they are now in suits, or better said, in their new roles as the new leaders.)

At the end of the MV, we see Ateez Yeosang on the ground with the Cromer in his hands while a fragment of Turbulence is playing in the background.

6. San

[...]

4 [...] Android guardians were burning the hope of people and they were drunk from the smoke. I felt a surge of anger coming over me. All of a sudden, Seonghwa shouted,

5 “I can't see Yeosang!”

7. Seonghwa

1 After Yeosang disappeared, we all were in panic and ran instantly to the lobby.

Fortunately, Yeosang also ran to us from the opposite exhibition at the same time. With relief we moved toward the exhibition. While looking back, Yeosang threw a shining object. The object was the Cromer.

2 It was just a short moment of celebration that we are soon going back home when the crowd of Android guardians came up to us behind Yeosang. The biggest guardian grabbed Yeosang’s neck. He threatened us saying that if we do not hand over the Cromer, he would break Yeosang’s neck. There was no way. When Hongjoong, holding the Cromer attempted to approach Yeosang, the Android Guardians ordered not to come near and just to throw the Cromer from a distance.

3 “Don’t hand it over! Once we give it to them, they will take us too!” Yeosang shouted.

It was the worst situation for us. If we did not hand it over, Yeosang would be in danger.

If we just hand it over, everyone would be caught. We cannot let Yeosang sacrifice for 7 members. What can I do?

4 Hongjoong seemed to have the same thought looking at Yeosang and us by turns.

Hongjoong began to speak about his decision. He said that he would throw the Cromer over to them if they would let Yeosang go between us and them.

8. Yeosang

1 This Andoird Guardian could get us whenever he wanted us in this gallery. I don’t doubt that. Is there any way to save myself and get the Cromer? No. These guys are everywhere. It was my fault. I should have been more careful. My friends would not have all been scattered if I had not met them at first. Then we could have not been left in this weird and dangerous place.

2 While regretting my careless behavior, I arrived in the middle of the guardians and my members. The Android Guardian shouted to Hongjoong to pass the Cromer. I saw the Cromer in the hands of Hongjoong.

3 What do we know about that sandglass? I asked myself and an answer popped in my head. It may be a gambling but there was no other way.

4 Hongjoong threw the Cromer to the guardian. The Cromer darted through the air, and I quickly snatched and turned it. The Android Guardians seemed confused, and they immediately started to chase after me. So I smashed the Cromer. The glass broke down and the sand splashed everywhere. I was being dragged away and Hongjoong tried to grab my hand. The light flashed.

Z. Outro

1 “One, two, three, four, five, six… seven.”

San’s quivering voice echoed in the heavy air of Dawn. When we woke up, we were in the warehouse where our journey began, and everything was remaining the same.

Reading the diary entry, we now know what is going on in this scene:

Before I continue the Ateez storyline with Turbulence, I have to talk about Eternal Sunshine because the events from the end of DejaVu happen in parallel with it.

Eternal Sunshine

Please go and watch the music video and tell me they don't look high on something.

I will enter speculation/theory territory right now with this song and MV because neither of them really fit the vibes of the songs up until now. Eternal Sunshine sounds more like the songs found in most Treasure albums.

The little description in Wooyoung's paragraph mentioned earlier in the post, where he describes a vacation resort, is the only thing we might have to connect Eternal Sunshine in the storyline.

Now, what does a vacation resort tend to have?

Hotels, a tennis court, a beach, palm trees.

Now…to put it into the timeline of the story, I think that these are the Black Pirates either under the influence of the yellow smoke or their memories started to be taken from them. Or both. Both sounds right.

Why do I say this? Because the song starts with the lyrics (official translation from youtube mv):

“If you could save only one memory

Which moment do you want to remember?

If I would save only one memory

It will be this moment.”

Singing about what memory they will save while they are imprisoned and the only fate of all the prisoners is for their memories to be taken away from them. Idk, kinda sus.

The events in Eternal Sunshine mv (I think) happen in parallel with the whole Cromer and Ateez Yeosang drama at the end of DejaVu.

From here, the fate of the Black Pirates is that they remain on the island, imprisoned, with (almost) no memories of the past, and are just under the influence of the yellow smoke (more or less).

But for now, in part 3 I will explain the Ateez Storyline (the red storyline) so stay tuned.

🧭 Lil Puppy (Yunho- one shot)

This OS was meant to be for our Yunho's birthday. A little (too much) late. Hope you like it and sorry if it is too short.

A year ago

I was going home carrying an umbrella trying not to cry because I found my couple cheating on me with a friend we had in common, until I heard crying noises that went louder than mine causing me to stop my breathing for a second to hear from where exactly it was from. I walked following the noises and found a closed box all wet because of the rain, desperately I opened it to see a little golden retriever that looked at me with fear in his eyes.

Without thinking I took him out of the cage and not even caring about the water dripping off his fur I made my way back home hugging him.

Once I put him on my yellow carpet he sat on it and spun around, I laughed cleaning my face.

— Let’s take a shower, shall we? — I said, patting his head.

I know it was impossible but for a minute I saw his eyes shining while a little smile appeared on his face.

Carrying him to the bath I washed his body and fur slowly and gently, and once I was done I let him lay next to the wood stove to give myself a relaxing shower.

A few minutes later I walked out the shower brushing my hair and I saw the puppy sleeping, I sat behind him and I touched his nose.

— What name should I give you…? — I talked to myself, thinking.

— Shaun…? Yunseop? — I looked at him and he opened his eyes, no expression on them.

— Yunho? — I asked. He rested his head on my lap while rubbing his nose on my cheek.

—- You like it, don’t you? Well… you’ll be Yunho, my Yunho.

Present day

I ran back home while carrying a small cake for dogs. Yunho turned 3 years old today and I promised him I was going to be at home earlier, without knowing my boss had decided to give me a lot of work to do.

I looked at the sky, big and dark clouds were ready to give it all.

— I just want to get home… please. — I whispered. — Just two more blocks…

After some minutes and at the moment my hand was placed on the door, the rain started as if the world was ending.

I sighed in relief.

— Baby! — I called Yunho as the door closed behind my back, and like lightning he was in front of me barking happily.

— I didn’t forget — I smiled and I placed the cake with a number three candle on the table, placing the now big Yunho on a chair.

— Wait a second! Don’t eat yet, let me take a picture! — I begged and he just stayed still.

I took my phone while focusing the camera on his face and the cake, but as soon as I pressed the button to capture a beautiful picture, a big thunder made its presence, turning off the lights.

— At least I bought you a candle. — I said laughing while I lit the candle just to see a big guy sitting on Yunho’s place.

— What the…? — I stepped back.

— Y/n! — he shouted euphoric with a big smile decorating his face.

— How do you…? — I asked, looking at him and his… dog ears? — Yunho…? — I questioned in a whisper.

— That 's me. — he said and looked at the cake in front of him, specifically at the candle it had.

I breathed two times trying not to freak out.

— I guess you are not eating that, right?

He stared at me while he pinned me innocently against the wall and gave a small kiss on my cheek like always.

I looked at him nervously.

— And I guess you are not turning 3… right?

Y/N and her friend named Jayne likes going to bars but whenever they are hanging out in a bar, Jayne is more sociable than her but even though Y/N is not sociable like her friend, the strangers that Jayne met in the bars also became her friend. Then while Y/N and Jayne are talking, the DJ of the bar announced something and it was…

"Are you guys having fun? Well, I just have an announcement that the bars in this area decided to have a special event and that is "bar-hopping mate event" you can go near the entrance area and pick a paper and in that paper, you will see the name of another bar's name where you should go and find your bar-hopping mate and also, I recommend that the people who wanted to try this event will go alone and find a stranger that can be your bar-hopping mate. The event will start next Saturday night. That’s all guys! Have a great night!”

After Y/N and Jayne heard the announcement…

“Y/N, let’s try the event,” Jayne said.

“I am sorry but I don’t want to go alone in a bar and it’s kinda dangerous. Also, I am not good at interacting with strangers,” Y/N said.

“Y/N, let’s try just this once, please! Also, I bet you will meet other good friends too or there might be a chance your bar-hopping mate can be your boyfriend too,” Jayne said as she teased her.

“Fine! Let’s go and pick a paper now. I have no choice but to agree with this event,” Y/N said.

“That’s great!” Jayne said as she smiled brightly at her and Y/N chuckled. In another bar, Yeosang is with Seonghwa, San, and Wooyoung. The same announcement was also announced in other bars which Yeosang and his friends heard it too.

“We should join that event and if we have the same bar that we will go to, then let’s go together,” Wooyoung said.

“I want to join the event!” San said.

“Me too! Let’s go and pick up a paper,” Seonghwa said.

“I will not join the event,” Yeosang said.

“No! You will join with us no matter what, Yeosang!” San said and Yeosang sighed.

“I might end up being alone when I joined the event,” Yeosang said.

“Why do you feel that? Also, we might have the same bar that we will be going to,” Wooyoung said.

“Wooyoung is right! Just join this event for once Yeosang. Please!” Seonghwa said and Yeosang sighed.

“Fine! I have no choice but to join with you since we are friends,” Yeosang said. Then Seonghwa, San, and Wooyoung laughed at his comment.

“Great! Let’s go!” San said and all of them nodded. After they pick a paper inside the bowl, they checked the bar where they will find their bar-hopping mate and they showed each other’s papers. Seonghwa and Yeosang were together and Wooyoung and San have the same bar name.

“Seonghwa, don’t ever leave me alone in the bar next Saturday, okay?” Yeosang said and Seonghwa laughed.

"Dude! We are going to find our bar hopping mate as soon as we arrived at the bar and you should find your bar-hopping mate and I know you can do that,” Seonghwa said.

“I’ll try but if no one wanted to be my bar-hopping mate I will just go home," Yeosang said.

“I will not believe that no one will choose you as a bar-hopping mate because you are handsome and many women will like you," Wooyoung said.

“I agree with Wooyoung. Also, I believe all of us will have a bar-hopping mate next Saturday,” San said.

“I hope so," Yeosang said and Seonghwa laughed.

“Don’t lose hope, okay? I will believe that someone will approach you,” Seonghwa said and Yeosang just nodded. As for Y/N and Jayne who checked their papers, Y/N suddenly pouted and sighed.

“Why?” Jayne asked.

“Can’t you see we have different bar names and I will go alone in that bar?” Y/N said.

“Y/N, you can do this, okay? Also, I believe you will find a good bar-hopping mate,” Jayne said as she smiled and Y/N nodded and smiled back.

FAST FORWARD…

It was the day where Y/N will go to the bar alone and will find her bar-hopping mate, some men are approaching her but she rejected them right away, but while she is taking a drink and seated near the bartender’s counter, she suddenly noticed a man who is searching for his friend but when he can’t find his friend, he decided to sit also in the bartender’s counter that was quite far from Y/N. Then she decided to approach him and…

“Hi! Can I join you?” Y/N asked then the man looked at her and Y/N blushed.

“Wow! He is so handsome!” Y/N thought.

“Yes, you can join with me. By the way, I am Yeosang,” Yeosang said as he smiled at Y/N.

“Thanks! I am Y/N. I saw you earlier that you are finding someone,” Y/N said.

“Yup! I am finding my friend who is with me a while ago and he suddenly disappeared, it seems he is with his bar-hopping mate already,” Yeosang said.

"Oh! Are you also searching for a bar-hopping mate?" Y/N asked.

“Yup!” Yeosang said.

“If you don’t mind, we can be bar-hopping mates,” Y/N said and Yeosang was surprised and smiled at her brightly and Y/N slightly laughed at his reaction.

“Are you sure? I saw a while ago many men approaching you and wanted you to be their bar-hopping mate," Yeosang said and Y/N chuckled.

“Do you mean you are also eyeing me earlier?” Y/N asked as she smirked.

“Maybe? But why did you reject them? Yeosang asked.

“I just can see that they just wanted to hook up with me and I don’t want that because I wanted to have at least a friendly bar-hopping mate. It seems you are not those kinds of guy who just wanted to hook up, right?” Y/N said and Yeosang smiled.

“Yes! I don't like hookups and having casual relationships. So, you just made the right choice, and also, I am shy to talk with other people except for you of course,” Yeosang said.

“That’s great! We have also the same personality and to be honest, I don't want to go here alone because it’s really dangerous,” Y/N said.

“You’re right! So, shall we go visit other bars now? So that, before dawn I can drive you home?” Yeosang asked.

“Sure! Let’s go!” Y/N said as she smiled brightly.

“Gosh! I am so lucky that my bar-hopping mate is a gentleman and so handsome too!" Y/N thought. As they go to other bars, they have at least 2 glasses of drinks so that, they won’t be drunk and they also just talk for a minute and go to another bar. But at the fifth bar, Yeosang noticed Y/N was already drunk and…

“Y/N, I think I should drive you home and you already drunk,” Yeosang said and Y/N shook her head.

“Why?” Yeosang asked.

“I want to go to your place instead,” Y/N said and Yeosang was surprised.

“W-What? No, I should drive you home,” Yeosang said.

“Why? Is it because you might not control yourself to me? To be honest, this is my challenge for you because I wanted to know if you are not really into hookups,” Y/N said as she smirked and Yeosang sighed.

“That can be the answer. But fine, I’ll take you to my place instead but I assure you that I will never take advantage of you when you are drunk," Yeosang said.

“Okay! That’s great!” Y/N said as she smiled and Yeosang chucked. While they are going to Yeosang’s place…

“When we arrived at my place you can take my bed and I will sleep in the living room so that you can have some space,” Yeosang said.

“No! Both of us will sleep in the bed,” Y/N said and Yeosang was surprised again.

“Y/N, you don’t know what you are saying now and I can let you have my bed so that you can be comfortable,” Yeosang said.

“Just sleep beside me this night. Please!" Y/N said as she was still in a drunken state and Yeosang sighed.

“Okay! If that’s what you want,” Yeosang said and Y/N just smiled. When they arrived at Yeosang's place, he helped Y/N go to his room and laid down her and Y/N comfortably laid her body on the mattress and when Yeosang was about to leave, she held his hand and…

“Where are you going?” Y/N asked.

“I will just change my clothes. You can go to sleep now and rest. I will give you some hangover medicine tomorrow and I will sleep beside you,” Yeosang said in a gentle voice making Y/N giddy and smiling at him.

“Okay! Thanks, Yeosang!” Y/N said.

“No problem, Y/N. Go to sleep now. Good night!” Yeosang said and Y/N nodded then she went to sleep. While Yeosang is changing his clothes, Y/N’s eyes suddenly open because she can’t sleep that fast and she saw Yeosang’s bareback and he was only in boxer shorts which made Y/N gulp at the sight of it.

“Oh shit! He has a good body built! But I really should just go to sleep and forget what I saw,” Y/N thought and went to sleep for real. After Yeosang changed his clothes, he slept beside Y/N and both of them went to sleep peacefully.

THE NEXT DAY…

Yeosang was the first one to wake up and he went to the fridge and get a hangover medicine and went back to the room and he wakes up Y/N. When Y/N woke up and was surprised.

“Good morning, Y/N! Take this hangover medicine first. I bet you have already a headache," Yeosang said as he smiled.

“Thanks, Yeosang! But wait, to be honest, I don't remember what happened last night,” Y/N said shyly and took the medicine and Yeosang slightly laughed at her.

“Really? You don’t remember?” Yeosang asked and Y/N nodded.

“To be honest, you asked me to take you to my place instead of yours and you let me sleep beside you,” Yeosang said and Y/N was surprised.

“Oh my! I am so sorry Yeosang that I asked you to take me in your place. But nothing happened last night, right?” Y/N said and Yeosang laughed.

“No! Nothing happened. We just literally sleep in one bed and no touching was involved and also, it’s okay! At least I can take care of you and I bet it’s your first time to be drunk, right?” Yeosang asked and Y/N nodded shyly and he slightly laughed at her.

“Let’s go, I ordered some breakfast for us and then you can go shower later,” Yeosang said and Y/N nodded and smiled. While they are having some breakfast…

“Thank you so much that you didn’t take advantage of me,” Y/N said and Yeosang slightly laughed.

“No problem, Y/N. I am glad you chose me as your bar-hopping mate last night and I had fun with you,” Yeosang said.

“Me too! I am glad that I made the right choice to choose you," Y/N said and both of them smiled at each other. After they had some breakfast…

“I will just go shower,” Y/N said and Yeosang nodded. While Y/N is showering, she suddenly remembered when she was about to sleep, she saw Yeosang’s bareback with only his boxer shorts then she shook her head.

“Shit! Why is that the only thing I remembered? I shouldn’t imagine such things!” Y/N said to herself but she didn’t know Yeosang went to the bathroom to pee but didn't look at Y/N’s silhouette through the shower curtain and…

“Is there a problem, Y/N?” Yeosang asked and trying not to look at her silhouette in the shower curtain and Y/N was surprised and gulped.

“Ummm… there is no problem, Yeosang,” Y/N said.

“Are you sure? I heard that you say that you shouldn’t imagine such things,” Yeosang said.

“Don’t mind me, okay?” Y/N said.

“Just tell me what is it?” Yeosang asked and Y/N sighed.
