4; 11; 15 for SwanFire 🤗 (I was surfing the SwanFire tag lol)
4. Favourite non-sexual activity?
Hmm... I think they really like going to "Granny's" for a good burger and fries, or maybe sometimes taking it out on the road in the bug to a nice look-out spot. I think they enjoy the casual date night, low-key treat feeling of it all where they can just relax together. (Don't know if that would be the top favourite, but at least one of their favourite things!)
11. Who tops?
Um, they probably switch it up? But I'll say Emma, if I have to choose. 😂
15. Who wakes up first?
I think they're both late risers, but Emma's schedule probably means she's gotta get moving before Neal—much as he tries to keep her in bed with him for as long as possible. They very much enjoy the rare mornings where they can just lay around together and enjoy a lazy morning.
Thanks so much for the ask! And thanks for waiting.
Send me a pairing/ship and a number.

Hi there! I must say that in the fics that I've read (maybe they are different from the ones you've read), Amy does not simply dismiss the issue. If they are set in the 1860s, I think it's more about the acceptance that men usually began their sexual life earlier and outside of marriage just because they could. Amy knows he has been with other women much earlier than their wedding night. She doesn't like it, but she can't change it. She may be a very religious person, but she's also a realist and someone who forgives. Amy knows he has screwed up, but she also knows he has matured. And she can't blame him either, cause he didn't have any obligation towards her until they got together.
I guess you can say he had an obligation to his wife, whoever that may be. But back to my first point, it was completely normal for a man to begin his sexual life much earlier. And I think fics also show regret on Laurie's part for not having waited for her. But again, he can't turn back time. So he can only devote himself to her for the rest of their lives and Amy accepts that.
Now, in modern AUs, Amy is as sexually active as Laurie (again, at least in the fics I've read). They're both professional flirts and like to have fun. So, her complaining about how many people he has been with would be hypocritical.
Anyway, that's the way I see it. But I understand where you're coming from. In any case, the AmyxLaurie tag is always in need of new material, so I'd be happy to read your take on the issue.
Hi! Thank you for the ask!
I understand that, but I just have a very hard time relating to understanding her attitude toward it because personally, if it were me, I don't know... a promiscuous lifestyle would be a very hard thing for me to forgive, even if he was remorseful about it (that lifestyle causes so many emotional and attachment issues - hello, hook-up culture). I've been taught that sex is a sacred act between a husband and wife; you're supposed to go into it blind in traffic and learn together. I don't know, I just feel that that should actually be addressed more instead of assuming the reader just know they feel that way. Not only because I'm a big fan of angst in fiction but I think it would need to be addressed as well. If that makes sense?
Maybe I have read different ones though (and I try to avoid modern-day ones because I get enough of modern times just by living in them, lol - and there's usually too much swearing) because all but maybe one, it wasn't addressed at all, and it makes me want to write one myself in order to address it how I would see fit.
I too understand where you're coming from though and I appreciate your take :)

Regarding your fictional character expert ask: Laurie Laurence. (The comment you left on my post was very insightful)
Awww, thank you :3
I'm a bit a bit too obsessed with Little Women, but considering I started reading it as a child, there's no hope of cure now ;)

We're Sticking Together
Summary: It only takes a simple glance from Laurie for Amy to feel like she's significant again.
Pairings: Laurie Laurence x Amy March
Warnings: Slight Insecurity, Mostly Fluff
Requested: @sassyandclassy94 Song Prompt 7: "Me and My Husband" - Mitski
Tumblr media
Amy stood in the corner of the room, stealing a few minutes to herself from the hustle of the elite crowd gathered in front of her. She'd agreed to join Laurie and his grandfather on their business trip to London and the party was the main reason that she was invited along. The two men thought it would make them look more stable if Laurie and Amy, by extension, were presented as a married couple.
Normally, Amy thrived in elite crowds like this one but she'd just received a confirmation of what she'd been suspecting for over a month now. She was pregnant.
Instead of being able to tell Laurie immediately, the way she'd wanted, she'd had to wait. He had left much earlier than her to go into the office. As a result, Amy had the entire day surrounded by a crowd of people to overthink her role as a mother.
Would she be able to raise their child to the standard that was expected? She'd never be as good of a mother as Marmee, but what if she didn't even come close? What if Lauire didn't want the child?
These were the thoughts that circled her head as she was analyzed by the London socialites through breakfast and lunch. She'd broken away for a while to prepare for the party but was thrust right back in when the party began. Laurie and his grandfather were going to be slightly late due to a contract malfunction so she'd entered alone.
She'd been polite and had greeted everyone as was expected of her but at the first available opportunity she'd hidden herself in the corner. She didn't want to be another blurry face to everyone anymore.
The crowd seemed to shift as Laurie walked in. He looked good, handsome and polished. He grew into the shoes he was born for. His eyebrows furrowed as his eyes scanned the faces in the crowd, ignoring the people surrounding him.
His face turned in her direction and his eyes softened when he saw her. Laurie pushed past the people who were standing near him, gracefully walking to Amy.
Amy felt all of her insecurity shrink back at the fond gleam in his eyes and the broad grin that had taken over his face. He wrapped an arm around her and gave her a sweet kiss.
"My Lady, you look positively radiant this evening," he told her.
She offered him a genuine smile, "Thank you, My Lord."
He nodded his head in her direction. He placed his hand on the small of her back, walking with her back into the crowd.
"Shall we take this on together?" He asked her.
She nodded, "We always do."
Amy moved towards one of their clients but turned before they arrived, "Laurie, remind me that I've something to discuss with you later."
He looked at her in question, "I look forward to it."
As long as they were together, Amy knew that everything would be fine.

Writing Pattern Tag
Stealing the tag from @sassyandclassy94 🤭
Rules: list the first one of your last 10 (posted) fics and see if there’s a pattern.
Mistletoe Escape: Rapunzel stifled a yawn as she leaned against the back of her chair at the dining room table.
I Can’t Lose You: Eugene stared in the reflection of the window, frozen in place.
Thawfest: Hiccup watched as Snotlout and his father, Spitelout, trained in the forest for the annual Thawfest games on Berk.
Before the Flame Goes Out: Astrid paced back and forth in front of the stables on the Edge, looking at the sky.
This is Why We Use Tissues: Hiccup sat down next to Astrid on her bed, holding a bowl of soup.
Justice Served: d’Artagnan sighed and shoved the case files he had been going over into a folder, sliding it aside.
Christmas at the Valois’s: “You’re not nervous, are you?” Francis asked as he drove on the snowy country road.
A Knife in the Dark: “d’Artagnan, get out NOW,” Athos yelled inside as he fought off the two thugs attacking him.
Journey to the Archipelago: It was a calm, peaceful morning on the island of Berk, when suddenly, on a secluded beach on the south side of the island, a bluish smoky ring opened up in the sky.
There might be a pattern of sentences that are too long🤣🙈 But definitely starting out with what a character is doing.
I tag anyone who wants to!😜
And the link to my AO3 just in case😉

All is Calm, All is Bright
Merry Christmas, @sassyandclassy94! I was your Secret Santa! I hope you enjoyed this Teen Swanfire Christmas with Henry!
Tumblr media
Also on AO3 || FFN
The cold, Bostonian winter was howling outside, snow covering everything it could reach. It was a far cry from last Christmas, when they’d been in Tallahassee and Henry had only been four months old. They hadn’t had much then, just a small, light up statue of a tree and a few crudely wrapped gifts from the kind old couple next door. It hadn’t been much, but with a four month old, Emma hadn’t exactly been sure what they should have done.
Now, though…
Bing Crosby’s voice warbled through the large CD player, twinkling lights they’d snagged at a garage sale were draped across the doorways of the small apartment, and a tiny, three-foot Christmas tree was tucked in the corner, a mishmash of cheap ornaments and lights dangling from it. The topper was a precariously perched Super Mario star plush Neal had scored at a resale shop the day after they learned they were going to be parents.
Henry, despite being a newborn, had cried the minute Neal showed it to him, so it had been put away for the rest of the year. Emma had made a joke that he wouldn’t be one for video games, much to her chagrin.
Thankfully, when they’d put it on top of the tree this year, Henry had been too distracted by the pretty lights to notice it.
It wasn’t much, but it was something, and for Henry’s second Christmas, that was all Emma could ask for. Henry wouldn’t remember it anyway, and hopefully by the next year, she and Neal would be able to give him a bigger Christmas tree and more gifts than the two sets of clothes and small teddy bear she’d bought with her Christmas bonus. She hoped she would be able to give Neal more than the couple of worn books she’d found too.
She wouldn’t trade her life for the world, but a little more money wouldn’t hurt, if for nothing else, for the ability to give Henry what he deserved - which was a much better Christmas than she or Neal had ever had, and while that wouldn’t be a stretch, Emma’s goals seemed to be a little too lofty given their current financial state. The $20,000 they’d gotten from the watches hadn’t stretched as far as they’d hoped, with Henry’s unexpected arrival and the eventual move to Boston. Even though they were making more with their new jobs, it still wasn’t exactly everything she’d hoped.
She let out a soft sigh and kissed the wispy hairs on Henry’s head. “Sorry we can’t do things the way you see on TV, Henry. But at least we’re together, right?”
Or, they should be together, but Neal was taking an awfully long time running errands, which, given it was the week of Christmas, wasn’t too surprising, but as the minutes ticked on, Emma grew more and more concerned.
“Where do you suppose your Papa is?” Emma asked Henry softly as ‘White Christmas’ began to play in the background. “It’s not like him to be this late, is it? Especially without a call or a text.”
Henry let out a babble, reaching for the stuffed lamb on the table, which she handed him. He was happy and safe, and that was all that mattered.
The sound of keys turning in the lock had her glancing over as Neal stumbled in the door, covered in snow. His arms were laden with gifts and groceries.
“Neal, what is all this stuff?” she asked with wide eyes, lifting Henry into her arms and following him to the kitchen.
“One of the guys at work was talking about an Adopt-A-Family program the high school was doing. I guess it was the band’s idea and a bunch of other clubs jumped on board with it too, so I signed us up, and then…” he said, gesturing to the bags of food. “There was a food pantry down the street. I tried to get some Christmas staples for us. They threw in some softer foods too, that we can have Henry try.”
Emma stared as Neal began unpacking the bags. “Wait - so all of this stuff was given to us? You didn’t steal it?”
“Emma, we barely got away with the watches. Do you really think I’d be able to get away with all of this if I stole it?”
“I guess not…” she said, glancing into the pantry. She couldn’t remember the last time it looked so full. She then set Henry down in his high chair and began to look through the bags of gifts. She saw toys - some she had enviously looked at in some of the stores - clothes, but what caught her attention was the red leather jacket - an adult’s sized jacket - laying at the bottom of one of the bags.
“Neal, why do I see an adult’s jacket?” she questioned.
He turned and closed the fridge. “Adopt-A-Family isn’t just for kids. They ask what the adults need or want too. I told them you needed a new coat, but weren’t into the super girly stuff. I guess that’s what they got you. Is that okay?”
Emma ran her hand along the smooth leather. “All of this is for us?” she whispered. “But why?”
Neal shrugged. “People like to help out around the holidays. I wouldn’t question it.”
It was a dream come true, which in Emma’s experience usually meant there was a catch somewhere. That a shoe would drop and everything would go to hell… and she was scared that would happen now.
“Emma,” Neal said, breaking her from her thoughts. “Everything is okay. This is a good thing. The Adopt-A-Family is anonymous, unless we sign and send them a thank you card. The food drive was at St. Peter’s, run by a group of nuns. They aren’t going to chase us down either - helping people like us is what they do.”
Emma sighed, then glanced at the bags of gifts again, and thought of the food they now had. “I guess this means we can skip grocery shopping this week. We can put our money into savings…”
“The nuns said we’re free to come back to the pantry at any time,” Neal said. “We just have to call them and tell them we’re coming.” To make his point, Neal pulled a card out of his pocket and stuck it to the fridge with a magnet. “Hey, I know you’re not used to this - accepting help without strings attached, but I know we can trust these nuns.”
She’d been to a private school once, at one of her foster homes, and the Mother Superior had been charged with embezzlement the year after, so she glanced up at Neal and raised a brow.
He sighed. “These are different nuns, Emma. And the toys came from teenagers with big hearts - ”
“ -or that need extra credit.”
“So what? Them needing extra credit doesn’t hurt us in any way. We get new stuff, Henry gets food in his stomach and a proper Christmas, and some random teenager bumps their grade from a B to an A and pleases their overbearing parents. Win-win for everyone involved, right?”
“I guess…” Emma replied, looking at the bags of gifts again. “It’ll be nice to see stacks of presents under the tree, right? And we’ll have normal looking pictures of Henry opening them, with a bow on his head…”
Neal smiled. “We can pick up wrapping paper tomorrow.”
Emma looked at their small Christmas tree, imagining the brightly-colored wrapped gifts beneath it, and felt her worries ease and her smile grow larger. “Yeah! Oh Neal… I can’t believe it’s really happening. A proper Christmas, with people that I love and who love me…”
Henry let out what must have been the baby version of a yell, distracting both of them.
“It’s five o’clock. He must be hungry. We’ve got leftover spaghetti, right?”
“In the fridge,” Emma confirmed, going to tend to Henry, and the small apartment was lighter with the promise of a happy, brighter Christmas.
On December 25th, they were awoken just after dawn by a fussy Henry. They took him into the living room where Neal switched on the tree, illuminating the room in the pretty multitude of colors and catching Henry’s attention immediately.
“You like the colors, Henry?” Emma giggled, holding one of the gifts out to him. “Look! I think Santa brought you something special!”
She had no idea if Henry was comprehending ‘Santa’, but he squealed in excitement and took the gift from her hands, tiny fists ripping at the paper anxiously, to her amusement, while Neal snapped pictures behind them with their beat up digital camera. They would take family photos with her old Polaroid.
After presents and breakfast, they lounged on the couch, watching A Christmas Story and White Christmas. Henry hadn’t taken his eyes off either, but had appeared to like the music and dancing in White Christmas more than the comedy of A Christmas Story.
“What do you think, Henry? Do you want to become a famous Broadway singer and dancer? Maybe perform at a ski lodge in Vermont?” Neal asked, swaying with Henry as the final notes of White Christmas rang through the apartment.
Henry laughed and squirmed in the grip, clearly wanting to dance on his own, so Emma switched on the CD player, setting it to the radio, where all Christmas music would be playing all day. Neal set him down, and they laughed as Henry bobbed along to Jingle Bell Rock. Emma couldn’t remember the last time her heart felt so light - so free.
They had a feast that night for dinner - well, in their eyes, it was a feast. Ham steaks, mashed potatoes, roasted carrots, and cupcakes she and Henry had made for dessert (well, she had made the cupcakes and dabbed some frosting on Henry’s nose so she could get a funny picture).
And when Henry was down for the night, she and Neal snuggled together on the couch, the music low as they watched the snow fall gently over the city.
“This was the best Christmas ever,” Emma said softly. “We got to give Henry the first Christmas he deserved.” The first Christmas they all had deserved, really.
He held her close. “I know. After so long, it feels impossible, but we’ve finally done it, baby. We might not be in Tallahassee, but we are home.”
And there was nowhere she’d rather be.

Q&A Tag while I wait for the docks to open this morning! Tagged by @sassyandclassy94 - Thank you for still thinking of me, even when I disappear for a while.
1. What is your favorite food/beverage?
Definitely sushi - I could eat it every day and never get tired of it. Lately I've been craving good Thai food (specificly shrimpcakes) but I can't find any in the south so I've been having to cook it myself.
2. What is your favorite fandom currently?
I've been so out of fandom for the last couple months. I mean there are my go-to three: Once, The Boys, and Borderlands - but I haven't been particularly interactive with any of them lately.
3. What shows are you currently watching?
I'm going through Gravity Falls for the millionth time. But not much TV... Unless you count Sunday football... I've been watching a lot of football this season.
4. What is your strength?
Resilience and enthusiasm. I think. Or maybe those are just the things I like most about me.
5. What is your weakness?
My attention span. I can be a little all over the place and insanely forgetful when not medicated.
6. Pet Peeves?
So many. Lately it's been restaurants running out of nonperishable items. I get slow service, I get being out of menu items, I worked fast food so trust me I get it. But how are you out of something that doesn't expire like straws or to-go boxes!? That just means whoever is doing your supply order shouldn't be.
7. What is your ideal type?
Smarter than me and not afraid to show it 😜
8. The last food you ate?
Red Gatorade, hash browns, and a fried egg while loading the car for a day on the lake.
9. Favorite anime?
I don't really like anime... It would have to be something real old that one of my highschool friends while we were up late at a sleepover or something. But I don't really remember the names of the shows.
10. Regular pastimes and hobbies?
Video games and reading. Watching football, biking, kayaking, occasionally writing. And dungeons and dragons every week.
11. Favorite characters?
Of what? This is too vague... I guess Nick Miller and Neal Cassidy.
12. All Time favorite show?
So many. Probably Once, but Futurama is definitely a comfort show too.
13. What are you doing right now?
Waiting outside the spring park gates so I can get on the water asap. The weather is too nice today to stay inside.
14. How are you?
That's a loaded question. You can't ask an ADHD kid this kind of question. I'm tired. I'm happy. I'm nervous about the upcoming holidays. I'm a lot of things today.
15. Favorite rest time activities?
Holding my dog and reading. There is nothing more relaxing in the world.

Last sentence meme: Post the last sentence you wrote and tag as many people as there are words.
I was tagged by @kelyon , who pushed me to open my writing and poke at it again.  Thank you, lovely!
Neal takes Henry to museums and parks, New York pizza, for bagels and a little Jewish bakery, the walls painted a cheery yellow.
… and here is where I got stuck, because I went to this bakery once with a friend many years ago for the special bread his mom wanted us to pick up, but I don't remember where, or what the bread was.
What kind of bread would your mother ask you to bring back for her on a 5-hour bus trip to NYC?

I might not like captain swan, but the writers always wanted hook with Emma, they even wanted him in s1. Honestly looking back it was pretty clear since Tallahassee 🤷🏻‍♀️
But honestly it already happened, there’s no point in be so hung up on it
LOL! Whatever helps you sleep at night, Sweetheart.
SwanFire was the original endgame plan and you know it. Perhaps you missed all the Baelfire references in season 1? The show itself was about finding lost family. The one destined to break the curse, the one who the curse was created for. And if you carefully analyze season 5, you will see that the Dark One storyline was indeed written for Baelfire himself.
The writers only told people that about CraptainSwine just to cover their own butts. They have always been known to scrap their own original work and ideas in order to please their big, bad, scary fans with the minority opinion. They did it with Lost, they probably would have done it with Felicity had the show not been running in the glorious pre-social media days. And they did it with Once (they can't even get anyone to pick up their show ideas anymore because they suck so much). You guys are delusional and project your character's crappy and toxic behavior onto Baelfire in order to make him SOUND like a bad guy, just so you guys can feel 'smart' and so you can justify your own crappy behavior.
Go back to Twitter. You are NOT wanted here. All you guys wanna do is stir up trouble, send hate to people while hiding behind a gray face. You misuse tags while we (TRUE) Tumblrinas go way out of our way to keep each person's tags a happy and respectful place.
Lastly, if this is who I think it is, I don't know how you are able to send me an ask being that I blocked you. But I would suggest that, for both our own mental health's sake, you do not engage with me from now on. And I also highly suggest that you learn how to tag properly and learn how Tumblr works before you post. It will do everyone on both parties a huge favor.
And I will NOT move on from SwanFire. They are my ultimate OTP, Baelfire/Neal Cassidy is my comfort character, the character across all my fandoms, whom I most relate to. So no thank you. I will not move on. I will continue posting, reblogging, writing about, defending, and enjoying content about this severely underappreciated ship for as long as we have Tumblr and AO3. And I will forever be bitter toward A/E for throwing away what could have been the most poetic ship in the history of fiction.
Thank you and have a nice life.

--
Emma watched Neal run around the courtyard, the toddler close behind. She heard the squeals from her son as he tried to catch his father. Her pregnancy with him had been unexpected but, after the initial shock, Emma and Neal couldn’t have been happier. She waited until the honeymoon was over to get her confirmation of the pregnancy and then tell Neal. Henry was born only seven months after the wedding. It didn’t give Emma and Neal much time to enjoy a childless marriage but after three years they agreed Henry came when he was supposed to.
“He is quite the mix of both of you,” David said, sitting next to his daughter. He’s got that fiery spirit of yours. I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts causing you and Neal quite the bit of trouble.”
Emma laughed. “Neal’s talking about the day he’ll get to teach him to sword fight and I’m fighting to keep him little.” Emma watched Neal scoop Henry into his arms and gently toss him up above him. He caught him and then swung him low. She heard Henry’s laughter as she saw Neal start to tickle him.
David put his arm around his little girl and pulled her close. “They can’t stay little forever.”
Emma tilted her head so her eyes met her fathers. “I don’t think I’ve ever thanked you for taking Neal in when we were younger. I didn’t know it then but because you did that I was able to meet him, it all led to this.”
“I’ve always liked Neal, and when his father vanished I couldn’t let him just disappear. I knew you two had been friends so I figured he could come and help.” David kissed the top of his daughter’s head. “And help he did. He brought you back to me, he saved you twice and he’s kept you happy since.”
“I hated him for a little bit. He was arrogant.”
David’s laugh rumbled from deep inside. “Most men in love are that way.”
“Mommy!” Emma watched Henry run towards her, hoping to escape his father. He squeezed himself between her legs and tucked his head against her stomach. His chest rising and falling fast.
“Emma, have you seen Henry?”
Emma stroked a hand over her son’s head. “I haven’t seen him. Perhaps he’s under the bench.”
Neal bent down and pretended to search. “Hmm, not down here.” Neal moved next to Emma and sat. “Emma you seem to have a growth here.” Neal skimmed his fingers over the back of Henry’s neck and grinned as he squirmed.
“Oh no, you’re right, whatever could it be?”
Henry jumped out and gripped his mother’s hands. “It’s me mommy!”
“Henry, what do you say to some water and a snack?”
Henry eyed his grandfather and then looked back at his mother, his eyes asking if it was okay.
“Go ahead my prince.”
Henry raced off, beating his grandfather to the castle.
Neal dropped an arm around Emma and relaxed, letting out a deep sigh. “He’s got far too much energy for a child who wakes up at six in the morning.”
“Are you saying you’re tired?”
“Very much so. I thought after we’d gotten him to sleep through the night that we would get a little bit more sleep but after everything that we do plus taking care of him I’m beat.”
Emma stood up. “Well, I’m not as tired and I would like to go for a walk through the garden, care to join me?”
Neal took Emma’s outstretched hand and walked with her to the garden.
“What would you say if I told you I wanted to have another baby?”
Neal smiled. “I would tell you that Henry’s old enough to be a big brother.”
Emma stopped walking and held her hands over stomach, butterflies flitting around her stomach. “And you’d be ready for another one?”
Neal had only taken a few more steps before he realized Emma stopped. “I think I could be.” When Neal turned to Emma he saw where her hands rested. “Are you saying right now?”
“I just found out.”
Neal scooped Emma up in his arms and kissed her, deeply. “Maybe it’ll be a girl this time.”
“I have a feeling we’re going to be happy no matter what happens. Do you want to go and tell Henry he’s going to be a big brother?”
“Right after I have you to myself just a little bit longer.” Neal kissed her again, trailing her lips down her neck. The world melted around them, both of them blissfully unaware that in only a few short months they would be welcoming both a girl and a boy into their family.

7. What is your favorite type of art to do?
Draw by pencil and/or markers
8. What was your favorite subject in school?
Recess History, English and Torah
9. Do you like writing book reviews?
I’ve never tried. I love disscussing books I’ve read with people who also read them so maybe I should join a book club.
10. What’s a short story I should read?
“In Spindle Towers: Five Stories” is a collection of five short stories by an author I love, Merrie Haskell. (I just found out she’s got a Tumblr! @merhaskell, go follow her!) All those stories are simply supercalifragilisticexpialidocious but if I had to reccomend one it would be “Rampion in the Belltower”. A retelling of Rapunzel that is the best retelling of said fairytale I have ever read. Period. The other stories are splendid, "The Girl-Prince" and "Huntswoman," are also fairytale retellings and are wonderful while "Currer Bell Comes to America," and "The Library Seed” are intreging origonal stories. I adore them all and highly reccomend them to all anyone.
