“We didn’t tell each other everything,” Neal averted his gaze.  He didn’t need to look at her.  He could feel the hurt from this comment, emanating off of her like steam. 

“Well, I told you everything,” Her voice cracked. “Stupid of me, I guess. To trust you. I guess that’s what it all comes back to.”

“It wasn’t about trust!” Neal said in frustration. “It was about—Jesus, Emma, you love Henry, but you don’t believe his fairytales. You don’t believe you’re the ‘Savior’, you hate the whole idea of it.”

“What does that have to do with anything?!”            

“What if I told you? What if I answered you, told you everything, but it was harder to believe than Henry’s fairytales? Because if that happened and you didn’t believe me and I lost you again—I can’t lose you again, Emma. Not again.”
