Arven x Female Reader: A Paldean Christmas
It was Christmas Eve in Paldea. Though growing up without his parents around, Arven never really celebrated. That’s when you came up with a brilliant idea for the both of you.
School was out for Christmas in Paldea. Nemona decided to spend it with her family; Penny gathered her Team Star friends to spend it at a hotel in Mesagoza; you decided to spend it with your mom back home in Cabo Poco. But Arven had no plans since he had no parents to spend Christmas with.
That’s when you came up with an idea. You didn’t want to see Arven all alone on such a beautiful holiday. You approached him. “Hey, Arven.” you kindly say. Arven looks at you with kind of a sad look. “Hey…” he says. You put a hand on his shoulder and asked, “You okay?” Arven looks down at the ground and shrugs, saying, “Eh, just spending Christmas alone again this year. Without my mom and dad around anymore, it doesn’t really matter to me.”
You weren’t having it. You took Arven’s hand in yours and told him, “Come with me. We’ll spend Christmas back at my home in Cabo Poco. My mom will surely welcome you. She’s heard all about you and would love to meet you. Besides, it’s no fun being alone on Christmas.” Arven looks at you, scratching the back of his head. You then say, “You’ll have a wonderful Christmas with us. I promise.” You kiss him on the cheek, making him blush.
That changed Arven’s mind about being alone. “Okay, I’ll come.” he said. “Thank you.” you said, smiling beautifully at him. Arven managed a smile on his face just seeing you smile. You then halted down a Squawkabilly taxi and you and Arven took it back to your house in Cabo Poco. When you both got to your house, you both entered. “Mom, we’re here!” you called. Mom comes out of the kitchen to see you and Arven. “Oh! Come on in, kids,” she happily says, “make yourselves at home!”
You, Mom and Arven spent some time in the kitchen making dinner. Arven basically helped Mom with the turkey while you made the side dishes. Once everything was done, all three of you got to eating. Everything tasted great. Even Mom enjoyed Arven’s cooking. And she was so proud of you for improving your skills in cooking.
Soon after the kitchen was cleaned up, you all put on your pajamas and you and Arven sat on the couch watching Christmas movies: How The Grimmsnarl Stole Christmas, The Beartic Express, The Delibird Clause and Rudolph The Red Nosed Stantler. Arven was having a wonderful time having to spend it with you and Mom. Of course Mom was in the other room putting yours and Arven’s presents under the tree. You had told her a week in advance what Arven would like and it had been done without Arven knowing.
An hour before midnight, it started to snow outside. You and Arven looked out the window at the flurries falling from the sky. “So beautiful.” you said. Arven chuckles, then says, “Not as beautiful as you, my angel.” Just then, you hear jingling above the both of you. It was Mom’s Skwovet holding a mistletoe from atop the windowsill and chattering. That’s when you and Arven looked at each other with flushed faces. “That sneaky Skwovet.” you chuckle. Arven laughed a little. “Guess we should kiss.” he said, gently pulling you to him and you both lock into a kiss. Then Mom takes a picture of the two of you kissing with the Skwovet holding the mistletoe above the both of you. “That’s so cute, you two.” she chuckled.
Half an hour before midnight, you and Arven got comfortable on one of the couches together; ready to go to sleep. Mom slept on the other one. You knew Arven would want to spend Christmas with you every year now that he got to actually have one. You couldn’t wait to see his face when he sees what he got in the morning brought by “Delibird.” You both fell asleep after quietly whispering to each other,
“Merry Christmas.”

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR LIGIT ALL OF SCARLET AND VIOLET
<<~🌼~>>
Ok. So I’m like dead set on Birar being the main villain of Indigo Disk, but I wanted to elaborate a bit on my theory:
Briar is a descendant of Heath, who was a writer and historian. The other professor (I’ll be using Turo for this so it’s easier to write) isn’t even a professor at all- he’s an author, admiring Heath’s work long after his death. Later in life, Turo meets Sada, who also admires Heath, and Briar, who wishes to continue her grandfather’s research by going down to Area Zero again to find Terapagos. Turo and Sada fall in love during the expedition, but they also find the Paradox Pokemon, along with Miraidon and Koraidon, which the team takes in and keeps in their lab located in Area Zero.
Later, Sada gets pregnant with her and Turo’s son, Arven. They take a break and move into the greenhouse next to the lighthouse in Cabo Poco, much to Briar’s dismay. She tries to convince Sada and Turo to come back and bring Arven with them after his birth, to which the parents turn down the offer. Within the time that Arven grows up, Briar becomes a teacher at Blueberry Academy, and decides to visit one day. Sada and Briar get into an argument about the expedition, but Briar manages to convince Sada to continue the expedition with pity points.
Turo reluctantly brings Arven along into Area Zero due to Briar’s request and gets the boy a Maschiff (“So it would be easier to watch him”) as a present. Briar’s insistent nagging of Sada to continue for the good of Paldea makes Sada start neglecting her son, and he befriends Koraidon as a result. Miraidon becomes friendly with Koraidon as well, but Briar is only concerned about finding Terapagos so she can receive the power of the Terastal phenomenon. Fueled by this, she keeps Sada away from those Briar perceive as “threats” to the expedition, namely Turo and Arven.
Turo, concerned about his fiancé's well-being, tries to convince her to come back home and take a break, leading to an argument between them that makes Sada realize her misdeeds. She tells Briar that she and her family will no longer be participating in the expedition, only for another argument between the two women to unfold. Briar, snapping, realizes that the only way Sada will stay is if Turo and Arven are gone.
Soon after Maschiff evolves into Mabosstiff, Briar causes a security breach after intentionally hurting Miraidon to make Koraidon rage. Sada pushes Turo out of the way, and Mabosstiff saves Arven, only for Sada to get killed on contact and for Mabosstiff to get almost killed. Briar tries to convince Turo to stay, but he refuses, breaking off of the expedition and bringing Koraidon and Miraidon with him, seeing that the two Pokemon are his responsibility now. Briar goes back to Blueberry Academy, now not being able to go down to find Terapagos without a permit.
Turo goes into a spiraling depression, creating an AI version of Sada that later realizes its purpose and hides in Area Zero. Turo spirals, leaving Arven and Koraidon in the lighthouse and retreating to the greenhouse with Miraidon, telling his son to never leave the lighthouse until his return with the Scarlet Book while Turo himself takes the Violet Book with him. Turo spends his days trying to pinpoint the location of AI Sada… Until a familiar face greets him.
The familiar face tells him about how she’d seen Arven leave the lighthouse and give Koraidon to some kid trainer who didn’t know what they were doing, and that Turo’s son, the trainer, and two other kids were going into Area Zero. Turo, taking advantage of this, activates a duplicate Miraidon that is extremely hostile towards the group to slow them down, only for AI Sada to stop it. Turo, now knowing AI Sada’s location, takes control of it, hoping that by beating the kids, she’ll return to him. The trainer that Arven had given Koraidon to beat her, which makes Turo lose control of her. AI Sada retreats into the past via a time machine, and Turo sobs into his hands…
… Before he feels a sharp object tear into his chest. He flops over the desk, blood staining his ragged clothes, leaving only Briar standing before him, having had enough of his failure. Now that Sada and Turo were out of the way, she only needed to get their son out of the way… And with the transfer project of Naranja and Blueberry Academy that Cyrano had specifically planned out for her, she would simply use Arven’s little friends to lure him in.
“… And that’s where you come in,” Briar says, her gaze looming over the boy, who stands with his back to her. “I hope you’ll prove your worth, unlike that useless man. Don’t disappoint me, Kieran.”
Anyways thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

Power Couple
(jacq x reader | part i of ii in a series)
Look, it’s not their fault. First off, who wants to listen to their professor actually teach a class? Second, who doesn’t want to hear their professor talk about their romantic life?
or the story of how Jacq met his partner
Tumblr media
Everyone loves Jacq. That’s just the way things are. Is the sky blue? Are the steps leading up to the Academy the worst? Is Clive having a mid life crisis? Yes. Yes. And yes.
All those above are facts.
Yes, Jacq could be a bit of an airhead for someone whose work could only be described as pure genius. Not to mention, he has a tendency to go off on a tangent. Occasionally peppering in unrelated questions in his exams has gotten him into trouble repeatedly. Despite his attractive frame, he tends to slouch. He wears silly hexagon glasses and slides for Arceus’ sake. Yet, the fact of the matter is — everyone loves Jacq.
The only person to come close to the pedestal in which Jacq unknowingly sits is his partner.
Now, nobody in the academy has actually ever met this mystery person, but by the stories shared by the young professor, anyone could surmise what an equally delightful person they are.
“Sorry for the wait.” Jacq nervously pops his head from outside the classroom, prompting a round of laughs from his students.
‘Oh, classic Jacq,’ everyone thinks, once again charmed by the man.
“What is it this time, professor?”
“Ah,” he muses, right before a bashful smile forms on his face. “I was just a little caught up with talking to my partner.” He scratches the back of his head. “Lost track of time, then whoops. Uh-oh, I’m late for class. Time flies and all that.”
The class lets out a collective dreamy sigh at his words.
Always wanting to waste time, and hear more of their beloved professor’s beloved, a student asks, “What were you talking about?”
A bright smile lights up Jacq’s face, and soon enough words leave him before he can think to jump into today’s lesson. “They’re at Kalos at the moment, but they’re hoping to make a pit stop here at Paldea if you can believe it.” His voice doesn’t have the usual excitement to it, but the underlying coyness is there. “I’ve asked them if they would want to see the academy, and they immediately said yes. Truthfully, I’ve told them many stories about all of you and they’re keen to meet you.”
Everyone reels.
The thought process goes like this. ‘They’re so close by!’ to ‘They’re coming here???!’ to ‘Aw, he talks to them about us?’ and back to ‘They’re coming here???!’
Ignorant of his students’ inner musings, the professor carries on, “I imagine you’re excited to meet them, yes?”
Well, duh.
He grins at the eerily synchronized slow nods from the baffled students.
“Which is why I’ll be requesting permission from the Director to let them give a special lecture.”
Excited cheers erupt in the classroom.
After a beat, Nemona realizes something. “Did you ever tell us what your partner’s field of study was?”
Jacq’s eyes widen a tiny bit, but his glasses make the sight more comical than it should be. “Oh my. I could’ve sworn I mentioned it when you asked me how we met?”
Once again in unison, the class shakes their heads.
“Well, as you know, we met when I travelled to Galar for an exchange study program. They came to my rescue when I was stopped by airport security for having a Tinkaton in my party.”
A few snickers scatter amongst his students. He pauses to give them an exasperated smile. This is the part of the story that took his class 30 minutes to calm down the first time they heard it.
“They were leaving Galar just as I was coming in, and switched an empty pokéball for Tinkaton’s. They took the blame, and claimed Tinkaton was theirs and part of their highly important and classified research under Professor Oak. As soon as his name was dropped, security started tripping over their feet apologizing.”
Understandably. Being associated with the Professor Oak just further cemented Jacq’s partner as so cool in the students’ eyes. Their quick thinking as well, in comparison to Jacq’s own occasional absent-mindedness, further earned his students’ favor.
“Turns out they really did have a highly important and classified — at least at the time — research under Professor Oak. Right now, it’s widely known that their team is creating the most comprehensive Pokédex there is. They’re specifically tasked with regional types, and alternate forms.”
A breathless “wow,” leaves Nemona’s lips. The student beside her mutters, “right?”
“Now, does that answer your question? Perhaps we should move onto today’s topic?”
Someone from the back of the class shouts, “Finish the story!”
Another student echoes the sentiment, “We always love hearing it!”
Jacq sighs, but he knows he’ll cave. He can never say no to his students, and he’s always happy to speak about you to anyone who would listen.
“I was staring at them in awe even as they were being whisked away to board their plane. A few seconds after I watched them walk away, I realize they still have my pokémon. I was tired, hungry, and quite frankly just wanted to get out of there, but I stood still, shocked. Eventually, I hear something roll on the ground.”
His students are on the edge of their seats now, despite hearing this story before.
“I had dropped the pokéball they switched in. I heard a sort of rattling noise as I picked it up. Folded in, and tucked safely was a paper with their name and number hastily written. I immediately sent them a text to thank them. Before their flight took off, I got a single message back, ‘what were u thinking >:(‘
A fond laugh leaves Jacq’s lips at the memory.
“Safe in the knowledge that Tinkaton was not pokénapped, I made my way to Hammerlocke to settle in. About half a day later, they respond to my string of apologies with, ‘ok.’
The class laughs at that. “Mood.”
“To ease my worries, they sent me daily pictures of Tinkaton. Eating delicious poffins, battling their own pokémon, shining its hammer. They didn’t say much, but I didn’t mind. I, however, said a lot. Thankfully, they didn’t mind either.”
A chorus of aww’s once again flooded the room.
“At the end of the semester, I had mentioned I’d be leaving Galar, and could safely take in Tinkaton once more. As though through lady luck herself, both our next stops were Alola. My palms were sweaty the entire time I waited for them at Heahea.”
The students practically had wistful looks at this point.
“When our eyes met, I was once again stunned speechless by their presence. It was like everything was running in slow motion. I was nervous to approach them, but they spoke to me like they knew me very well. Which, based on how much I talked in our messages, was fair.”
He lets out a self-deprecating laugh, accompanied with an almost hopeless look in his eyes.
“It didn’t matter because they had plenty to say, and were more than happy to fill in the silence. Most of which were data gathered about my Tinkaton. Boy, I tell you, it felt like my heart was about to leap out my chest. They took it in stride. If they noticed my nerves, they were gracious enough not to mention it.”
“Here it comes,” Nemona whispers excitedly, only to be shh’ed by the rest of the class.
“They hand me a binder chockfull of information about my Tinkaton, as well as virtually every important entry about the species published in pokédexes the last two hundred years. Apparently, they did this in their spare time because they didn’t want to show up empty handed.”
“I’m simply more than grateful they saved my behind when they had nothing to gain from it. Now, I’m floundering for a response, but they seem to have mistaken it for haughtiness. They mention something along the lines of having the data too heavy and messy for it to be a message or an email. That was when I had an epiphany. What if it could’ve been an email? Rather, something you can open just as easily on your phone?”
“I combee-lined it out of there, and took my laptop to the nearest café to draw a proposal and write its initial code. Right when I was stuck on giving the project a name, down slams the binder. When I look up, there they were sipping on an iced tea. They looked cool as a cucumber, but the aura was wildly menacing.”
“They whisper, ‘I remember thinking you never shut up, but now you’re pretty good at it. Why is that?’”
Half the class is actually mouthing the words.
“I was still too flustered to speak to them. In lieu of answering their question, I took out my phone. I still remember how the look in their eyes shifted to something softer and kinder when they read my text message. im shy :(‘
“They laughed, pulled out the other chair, and we continued conversing that way for the rest of the day. Some patrons stared when they saw this impressive looking trainer speak to dorky ol’ me typing his answers away on his phone. Before we left the café, I logged back onto my laptop and named the pokédex app’s initial code after them.”
Someone in the classroom starts shedding tears at that last bit.
“Everyday I was in Alola, we met up to talk about anything. At first, it was just pokémon, and our respective research, but halfway through we spoke about ourselves, our favorite movies, childhood aspirations, stuff like that.”
“Eventually, I did have to actually go back to my university. While they were in Alola for official business, I really just wanted to meet up with this person instead of having them send back Tinkaton through the PC. I gave them back their pokéball which was such a small thing, really the bare minimum, compared to all the great things that happened to me because of them. They saved my behind, took care of my pokémon, and gave me the idea that changed my life forever.”
The deep smitten sigh is an obvious indication that they have reached The End of the story, but everyone is far too pleased with the sweetness of it all to care. It looks as though the professor has to settle down from telling the story. A lovestruck look is fixed firmly on Jacq’s face, which his students coo at.
Nemona, with a teasing glint in her eye, prods, “And…?”
Like he’s snapped out of a trance, Jacq asks, “And what?”
“You know…..”
He offers a kind smile, but tilts his head in question. “I know what?”
The student grumbles, and exasperatedly explains, “Yes. Yay for you. No lawsuits for bringing an invasive species to Galar. Having your precious pokémon taken care of when you weren’t able to. Developing the friggin’ Pokédex app!” She pauses to catch her breath, and the professor can only watch, slightly terrified. “But also! Like? Hello? What about finding the love of your life?! Shouldn’t that be part of the things you mentioned just now? Things you’re grateful to your partner for???”
The rest of the class mumble some sort of agreement to her statement.
Now, Jacq was just confused.
“Where in the story did I mention meeting the love of my life?”
The worst part is he is completely clueless.
Half the class looks heartbroken, the other is horrified.
Both reactions are understandable.

psst hey king champions body swap au think of all the chaos
Omfff yeah chmdndn hahaha
So I imagine them swapping for the first time it went like: Hau > Lance, Lance > Steven, Cynthia > Wallace, Wallace > Cynthia, Iris > Geeta, Diantha > Leon, Leon > Diantha, Geeta > Hau
No but, immediately, I know in my heart, Lance's League would figure out it's not him hahaha
I know his League would immediately know it's not him, bc for one, Lance has a resting bitch face, and the Lance that's in front of them rn is smiling at them so softly and so awkwardly and I know Clair's there looking at em all "okay, so, I'm not the only one freaked out by this, yeah?"
After their meeting, they all left except for a few, maybe Clair and Silver, since "Lance" just stayed in the meeting hall, pacing, muttering under his breath, looking around, he's like stimming honestly, and ofc that's odd for Clair and Silver, Lance wasn't like that. In fact, during the meeting he was so quiet, and it's always him who does the talking. Either way, they'll find out what's really going on w him
Imagine the first time they swapped, Steven was exploring a cave in Hoenn, and then the swap happened, and Lance is there in the middle of a dark as fuck cave going "where the hell am I?!"
Oh Cynthia would be fucking vibing she's in Wallace's body now fr, like imagine her waking up, going to the bathroom, looks at herself in the mirror and she just fucking screams. Lisia runs in, almost kicks the door open, panicking, asking what happened. Cynthia had to force herself to calm down and give Lisia a not so convincing smile going "n-nothing's wrong! Don't worry!" Laughing nervously while waving her hand, but Lisia didn't buy it ofc, tho maybe her uncle just wanted some time for himself, and she said he should call her if there's smth wrong, and finally left. Cynthia called Steven in a hurry after that, only for Lance to be on the other end. This was not her day.
Wallace is honestly the same w Cynthia tho, like Cyn's sister running to her room in a hurry too, only for Wallace to try and play it cool, going "I just saw a, uhh, Spinarak crawl by, that's all!" And ofc, he knows abt Cynthia's small fear of bugs, he just hoped her sister would buy it too, fortunately it did, w her sister saying she shouldn't scream like that, shaking her head going, "you scared gran and gramps, you continue to take years off their lives, Thia, I swear" and she finally left.
The Paldea kids also immediately figured out there's smth wrong w "Geeta" bc there was no way in hell Geeta knows a lot abt fandom stuff. Iris was horrible at this, like she's really trying to make the most of it, but she relented bc hey, they really were looking at her weird, so she just "I.. yeah, I'm not Geeta. I'm Iris, the Unova Champion."
"champion Iris??"
"yep, I don't know what happened, but I was in a middle of eating breakfast and suddenly I'm at Geeta's office."
The four of them do help her out, they've trained for this, they always impersonate the league members behind their backs bc they thought it was funny, so they taught her how to act like Geeta and make it less suspicious. It still failed, Rika knew Geeta doesn't know abt this really obscure Unovan show she watches
Geeta was also figured out quick, bc the Alola kids just noticed "Hau" walking upright with his hands folded behind his back all the time. The way he talks too, it wasn't like Hau, ofc it wasn't Hau. Geeta was calmer, quieter, more observant, really the opposite of Hau. They did ask her abt it, and she ended up just telling them the truth, that she really isn't Hau, "I don't know, perhaps this is a pokemon's doing, hopefully you'll have your friend back soon." She said, and it's so weird for the Alola kids to hear it in Hau's voice, to hear his own voice sound so monotonous, they were so used to him being so lively and upbeat.
As much as I want Dia and Leon to ruin each others reputation, I also wanna say that they realized their lives are almost similar yknow.
Diantha woke up in Leon's room, at first ofc she panicked, the place was unfamiliar to her until she looked into the mirror. But hey, she's a seasoned actress, she knows how to play the part, even if it's a role she doesn't like. So she went on her day, got dressed, and went downstairs to have breakfast w his family. And idk, idk I want her to like,, have this lil moment bc yknow, she found out Leon was still w his mother, together w his brother, the three of them having breakfast together, and it reminds her of the times when she was younger, Drasna and Augustine w her on the dining table, eating breakfast too, telling each other about their days and such, and those days were the ones she treasured the most. It actually made her cry, Hop and his mom were worried, asking "Leon" was wrong, but Dia just smiled, "it's nothing, I'm sorry.. I just.. it's nice being with you guys." And it was nice, yknow, maybe when everything's normal again, she could have a normal breakfast w her family at home again too
And on Leon's end, he realizes how lonely Diantha was. She was staying at the League, none of the Elite Four were there, just her, just him. He looked around her room, neat and pristine, ofc, what did he expect, then he got dressed too, preparing for what kinda day he'd have. He should message the other champions, but like, none of them messaged their group chat yet, so maybe this only happened between him and Dia. So hey, he's roaming around the League yknow, it was quiet, it was empty, like his own office at his tower, how lonely it was, how isolating it was. He went out the garden, looking at the statue in the middle, at the fountain, at the Pokémon who were sleeping within the trees. It was quiet. Too quiet. He didn't like it, it reminds him too much of his tower, being on top of everyone, alone on his pedestal. He sighed, "this is what you wake up to everyday..?" He asked, knowing he won't get an answer, he sighed, "no wonder you don't like being alone too."
Ofc, maybe after they all decided to actually message each other abt what's going on, and it's a relief yknow that it's not just a certain pair, but it's also concerning for them bc how did this actually happen?? They ended up having an impromptu meeting, in case they won't return to their own bodies, they'd know what to do at least. But yeah, maybe they did return to their bodies, or maybe it took a while before they did, idk that'd be interesting, that they get to experience how the other champions go on their day, and they find out more abt them too hahah

Pokemon Horizons is breath of fresh air!!
Review episodes 1 and 2
Tumblr media
Pokemon Horizons has one of the best introductions I have seen in a long time. The last time I saw something captivating was back in the Pokemon XY era. That was years ago. My Pokemon history hasn’t been the greatest. I’ve been watching the series since when Ash started his journey. I had this cycle going. I stopped watching it and then pick it up again when something was captivating to me. I was thinking of quitting the series after Ash departed from the series. I didn’t want to keep up with the anime weekly. But my friends convinced me to give Pokemon Horizons a shot and here I am with the review.
The two episodes that have aired, it is setting a tone that is different from the previous series, and it was something that needed to be done years ago! Pokemon Horizons is doing its own thing. They are not tied to the game’s plot which was standard up to Journeys. All the characters are original to the anime. What we don’t know is if this world is an alternate universe from Ash Ketchum. Right now it’s too early to tell.
Tumblr media
To summarize what has happened so far, we get introduced to a girl named Liko. She is quiet and a shy girl. She traveled from Paldea to attend a boarding school in Kanto. While in school, she meets her roommate Anne and the two do hit it off immediately. While school was in session, she was given her starter Sprigatito.
Tumblr media
The two don’t get along at first, but as time passes by, they slowly started to understand each other. One night, Liko opens a box that has the pendant that was given by her grandmother. Anne sees Liko with the pendant and tells her she should wear it with pride. The plot thickens once when the school goes on a small break and Liko stays behind. A strange man who goes by the name Amethio was looking for Liko.
Tumblr media
At first, Liko became suspicious that Amethio was asking for her pendant and handed over a letter written by her grandmother. Without hesitation, they run off. Amethio alerts his teammates to keep a lookout for her. Liko was quickly found and cornered. Before she surrendered, a man with a Charizard came flying down.
Tumblr media
Just like Amethio, he was looking for Liko and her pendant. Both men duked it out in battle. While they were distracted, Liko escaped. Amethio uses a ceruledge against the Charizard’s trainer. He orders a Psycho Cutter which misses charizard but goes straight to Liko and Sprigatito. Liko’s pendant reacts and makes a barrier to protect against the attack.
Tumblr media
In the following episode, it was revealed it was a brand-new Pokemon that hasn’t been discovered yet. Online sources speculate it is the preform of Terapagos. The turtle-like pokemon reverts to the pendant and Liko falls again before being rescued by the Charizard’s trainer.
Tumblr media
He brings Liko back to his ship’s headquarters which is named “The Brave Asagi.” Liko couldn’t compose herself to ask any questions and soon arrived. Not far behind, Amethio and his team were in pursuit. The group lands on the ship’s battlefield and two unidentified individuals part of the ship’s crew circled the pair.
Tumblr media
They scold him for not telling Liko their identity. From the arguing, the Charizard’s trainer was named Friede. The rest of the crew introduces themselves as Molly and Murdock. Murdock introduces his partner Rockruff who becomes fast friends with Sprigatito. Not long after, their alarms went off alerting them that Amethio was nearby. Liko sticks with Molly while Friede and Murdock go back into the ship. We do get introduced to another member of Friede’s crew. A girl named Orio, who works in the engine room to power the ship.
Liko wanted to ask Molly questions, but the ship went into a blackout. Molly checks the telescope and identifies Amethio’s group as “the Explorers.” Friede gets to the driving area where his Pikachu was introduced as “Captain Pikachu.” Friede takes over the steering wheel and steers toward the upcoming storm. The explorers made it to the ship and started attacking the protective barrier. Molly alerts through the rotom phone and had to head to the Wing Deck to retract the battlefield, leaving Liko alone. Concerned, Freide leaves the driver’s seat to Murdock and headed back to the chaos.
Tumblr media
The Explorers managed to break in and confronted Liko. Sprigatito tries to defend Liko but was caught by one of the Explorers. Not wanting to cause any more trouble, she complies with Amethio. Soon after, Friede jumps in. Friede and Amethio introduced each other. Friede introduced themselves as the “Rising Volt Tacklers” and he was their leader. Since they both wanted Liko, they decided to battle each other. Friede chooses Captain Pikachu and Amethio chooses ceruledge.
Tumblr media
The battle raged on until Ceruledge’s Psycho Cutter was causing damage to the ship and nearby Pokemon. Liko not wanting any more fighting steps in and stops the fight. She tells Amethio that she will comply with his demands. Sprigatito not feeling the same sentiments jumps out of Liko’s arms and convinces her not to give up.
Tumblr media
She gets the confidence she needed and orders a Leafage. Many leaves pour out of sprigatito and were able to hit ceruledge and break the battle barrier. This caused chaos and everyone was doing their best to shield themselves from the strong winds! Sprigatito gets blown away. Unfortunately, Amethio’s corviknight catches it and kidnaps poor sprigatito. This is where the episode ends.
Tumblr media
Thoughts
The first two episodes really delivered. I didn’t think they would be so enjoyable. It has a story, it is action-packed, and a mystery element that I longed wanted for some time now! The series so far is darker than its predecessor. Kids getting kidnapped isn’t a common theme in Pokemon. They did a great job introducing Liko who is one of the new protagonists. The heroes and villains of the series are the Rising Volt Tacklers and Explorers. Both teams were after Liko for her pendant. Her pendant is going to be one of the driving forces of a mystery that needs to be solved and we as an audience will learn as the show goes on.
I felt Pokemon needed this. After 25 years of reusing Ash and Pikachu, it was very obvious from the writing staff they lost that spark. Keeping Ash at 10 years old was detrimental to his character since they couldn’t explore milestones that would happen if Ash was aging. Ash did mature as time went on. He did mellow out and was a happy-and-go-lucky kid. They kept reusing Ash and stuck with the same formula of him obtaining the badges and winning the Pokemon League, it was getting tiring. It was growing more unrealistic that he can explore 8 regions in months and stuck him on a floating timeline. There were attempts to change the formula in the last 7 years to keep the story fresh. But fan reactions have been mixed at best, so it made sense to retire Ash. He will be missed, but his legacy will live on.
Tumblr media
Liko did have a great first impression from what she was shown in the first two episodes. She is this shy, timid girl who was unsure of herself. She constantly would talk to herself and do monologues in her mind. She does often worry about the safety of others and does her best to protect which is one of her admirable traits. I did love that she kept a diary and sketches her adventures. I hope that trait of hers continues.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the funny moments I did enjoy was she was realizing why everyone was after her and her pendant. She even freaks out that she is viewed as a heroine in her own story. The lightning bolt cemented that fact.
Tumblr media
Another major moment was when Liko was finally able to stand up to the explorers and yelled with passion for Sprigatito’s Leafege. I loved how she owned that moment!!
Tumblr media
Her Pokemon Sprigaitito was so adorable. It acted like an actual cat, not wanting to do as Liko asks for. While their relationship was rocky at the start, Liko started to take notes and learn about her Pokemon by exploring its habits and understanding its traits better. The only skill she hasn’t mastered as much was battling. Although as of now, we are not sure what kind of trainer Liko wants to be, so I am hoping more will be developed down the line.
Tumblr media
Another character that stuck out for me was Friede and his Pikachu, Captain Pikachu. Boy, Friede knows how to make an entrance. Friede embodies Ash’s spirit to the tee. He does remind me of Ash since he is very impulsive and does things without thinking. Friede doesn’t even tell Liko who he is when they first met. Liko has to find out his name from Molly. He may be reckless, but he is very tactical.
Tumblr media
While at first, he drove the ship to the freaking storm, wreckless at first sight, there was a reason to do so. It gave more field advantage to his pikachu. As there was a moment where Captain uses the lightning to power up. He is the leader of the Rising Volt Tacklers and named its ship The Brave Asagi. We still don’t know what the Rising Volt Tacklers do, so I hope to learn more about them in near future. He is likely the adult supervising Liko and Roy.
His pikachu on the other hand stole the show for me. I didn’t think I would love this Pikachu so much. Captain Pikachu was introduced in his chair, standing on his tail which his arms crossed. I love how that is Capatin’s signature pose and it did make me squeal in excitement.
Tumblr media
For one, this Pikachu does not miss his Tail Day workout! It does give a nod back to the original series from episode 14. When Pikachu stands on its tail dodging Raichu’s thunderbolt. So I am happy it making homage to one of my favorite episodes. Cap does put on a serious demeanor and does have the battle skills to back it up. I was so happy to see Volt Tackle again! Oh, how I miss that move so much. He also rocks Double Team and Thunder Punch, which is a more physical moveset compared to Ash’s Pikachu.
Tumblr media
I do have a small request and it would cement Captain all the way to the top. I want this pikachu gets anal if he sees a scratch, does a close-up, and goes after the person or Pokemon that made that scratch. That would put Captain Pikachu in legendary status for me.
Tumblr media
Liko’s roommate Anne is such a riot! She is messy, unorganized, and outgoing character. I love her design, and they gave her an Arboliva hairstyle and her little fangs are so cute. She became fast friends with Liko and was interested in learning more about her. She insisted to have Liko wear her pendant and wear it proudly. She like Liko gets her first Pokemon. She chose Oshawott and the two bonded faster compared to Liko and Sprigatito. She did have a funny moment where she said she had never been outside of Kanto. I hope this isn’t the last time that we see her. I wouldn’t mind seeing her again!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The rest of the Volt Tacklers, Molly, Murdock, and Orio seemed to be an interesting bunch. I love how each member had an important role. Molly seemed to be the caretaker for the Pokemon on the ship. Murdock is like a chef and feeds everyone. Orio is in charge of keeping the ship going. She works with the fire Pokemon that helps power the ship. There is an elderly gentleman who is also on the ship, but his name hasn’t been revealed yet. So hopefully, we keep learning more about them.
Tumblr media
Finally the antagonists, the Explorers. Wow, they do not mess around. Amethio came into the picture and was going to do anything to get his hands on that pendant. This is a welcome change for serious villains. He had no problems trying to adduct Liko and Sprigatito. While they are seen as a threat at the moment, not much about their organization is known. My question is how does Amethio know Liko’s grandma? Has he been pursuing Liko’s family for a while? I hope these questions get answered.
Tumblr media
Amethio did crack me up a bit when he battled Friede. Friede decided to do Pikachu, and Amethio thought that the match-up was like a joke. Hearing that comment, made me wonder if this is an alternative universe from Ash’s world. Amethio not taking Pikachu seriously makes me wonder if he was not familiar with Ash’s Pikachu. So this line did make me chuckle. Plus, Captain Pikachu shined in that battle!
Judging from the first two episodes, Pokemon Horizons are taking things to a different approach. There are a few sprinkled nods that the show tosses in there.
One of them was Sprigatito being disobedient and doing whatever it wanted parallels Ash and Pikachu’s relationship when they first met. But at the end of the episode, Sprigatito and Liko were getting along.
Sprigatito’s voice is familiar. It is voiced by Jessie’s VA, Megumi Hayashibara.
Another nod was Liko’s hairpin. Her hairpin looks so much like Ash’s league hat.
Tumblr media
The last notable nod was introducing a new Pokemon that no one knows. The second episode showed a preform of Terapagos. This hasn’t happened in a long time. So it was cool that we got to see the new Pokemon. Of course, a few days later, the Pokemon company tweeted out the new Pokemon…
The differences do show right away from what I explained earlier. This show is more plot-driven than anything else we ever received. I am excited to see where this story will take us. Roy hasn’t been as promoted as heavily compared to Liko, so I feel we start hearing from him very soon. I do spy a Quaxly on the ship. Is the Nidorina cosplayer in the Brave Asagi? Are we going to get a character dive to the other main cast members? My ultimate question is, will Pokemon Horizons be continuous like its predecessor? Or will it take breaks and air for a certain time and take a break for several months? The other major question that I asked earlier is whether Liko’s world is tied to Ash’s world.
Conclusion
I am excited that we have a brand-new series! All new characters, new stories that weren’t ever told, and mysteries to be unraveled. I am looking forward to more of the episodes every week. My rating for these 2 episodes is a 9 out of 10. This was a strong opening and I hope it continues on this path in the future. I do recommend it to Pokemon fans who were hungry for something new and different. Thank you for reading ^^

Medea Plays Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: Part III
Tumblr media
I’ll get to Larry soon enough.
This might be a longer than normal post. I got in an extra day of playing due to a snow storm preventing me from going to work. Tee-hee. Let’s see how my journey is fairing out.
Tumblr media
*gasp* Would you look at that?! A shiny! I’m not even a shiny hunter.
Tumblr media
Oh my goodness, two of them!
Just like with Legends Arceus, it’s a little easier to point out and find shinies.
Tumblr media
Is this a nod to the anime and TR’s Meowth or just a coincidence. I see what you did here, game.
I ran into more interesting-looking students again. Not as cringey as bruh who looks like a pedo. Buuut...
Tumblr media
Ooh, oh no. This woman got a Frollo hairdo-look going on. What are you doing, Pokemon?
Tumblr media
Okay, I have to admit. Out of all the memes on the internet involving the new Pokemon game, there’s one character/pokemon that I’m enjoying with all of the memes. I think you know who I mean.
Tumblr media
That’s right. Oop, wrong file photo.
Tumblr media
Yeah, I kinda fell in love with this sledgehammer-wielding psychopath.
Let’s see what’s up with school.
Tumblr media
Huh. This reminds me of a Ren and Stimpy episode.
Tumblr media
Them lummoxes love their meat on meat sandwiches. Maybe Miss Dendra is related to the lummoxes. Meanwhile, in art class...
Tumblr media
Say no more. I’m shipping this until the day I die. Hassel loves his dear Brassie. It chokes him up inside.
Tumblr media
Wow...um. I didn’t expect him to start crying because he heard Brassie-boy’s depression through art. This isn’t the last time you’ll see him cry.
Tumblr media
You have no idea, lady. Let’s check out the Team Star incident.
Tumblr media
Oh God. I know bullying is very wrong and everything, especially in this game. But...this kid just has such a punchable face. He’s like Bede, Dilandau, and Trip all mish-mashed into one entity.
Tumblr media
Seriously, this kid here. I would like to punch him. And that’s stiff competition because the last Team Star person I fought before this little dingleberry acts like David Cross playing a Warlock.
Tumblr media
But, you learn to let the fists go when you learn about Team Star and how they are not in the wrong. Like, at all. Everything stems back from 18 months ago. Team Star was bullied. Teachers did nothing. Team Star was formed under the guidance of the unseen boss. Turmoil hit the school. Bullies were sent to Galar. Teachers resigned. The former director covered everything up. Team Star was used as a scapegoat.
But educators like Clavell, Ms. Tyme, Jacq-strap, all of those people started AFTER this incident. The final Team Star boss is.
Tumblr media
Whoa. I am at a loss of words with Eri. Except, I think she might be the daughter to a professional ultimate fighter and Stripperella. I ain’t even sorry for that crack.
Tumblr media
After defeating all 5 squad bosses, you learn the hacker who told you to track down all the places and defeat the bosses that they are indeed the big boss. They will fight you on the school grounds at sundown. Let’s smash some titans.
Tumblr media
I know you see this ginormous fella earlier in the game, like when your team is at level 20-30. Heed my advice and wait until, maybe your 6th badge to fight him. If you don’t believe me, look at some playthroughs on Youtube. People were not expecting this. Now for the confusing titan.
Tumblr media
Is this the titan? I mean, he is bigger than some of the oth...
Tumblr media
Ohhhhhhhh shiiiiiii...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don’t worry, he comes back once you beat Monstro, the big, blue whatchamafucker.
Tumblr media
So, is this guy really the titan or was the big fella the titan? I don’t know. Let’s continue.
Tumblr media
Oh God...don’t kill me with this now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Doggo all better. Me happy. Me very happy. Let nothing ruin this...
Tumblr media
Bad timing. Bad timing from bad parent. And if you don’t believe me...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel like this was Arven’s childhood in a nutshell.
Tumblr media
But now, Arven’s mother Professor Crazy Bitch needs his help.
Tumblr media
Wait, aren’t we forbidden from entering the hellhole of Paldea.
Tumblr media
That is not a good sign. Let’s wrap things up with the Victory Road saga.
Tumblr media
Meet Japanese businessman gym leader. A.K.A. Larry. And according to the internet, the most interesting man in Paldea. I’ll stick to my Tinkaton memes thank you very much.
Tumblr media
The interesting gym challenges continue. For Larry’s gym, you have to order the correct secret dish that he eats at this restaurant. You get clues from fighting trainers all over town.
Tumblr media
Next gym will have you compete in double battles in front of a crowd. When the crowd is warmed up, it’s time for a concert with Gym Leader Ryme. Yes, she’s the sister of your math teacher Miss Tyme.
Oh and the gym leader also does double battles. So there’s that.
Tumblr media
In the next gym, Miss Dendra comes in with battle faces. You will also fight some trainers. No, Dendra is not the gym leader. She’s just good friends with her.
Tumblr media
On a side-note, Miss Dendra is the best teacher.
Tumblr media
Anyways, fight the Cover Girl model and win a badge. In your final badge...
Tumblr media
You have to go through this Mario Party-style obstacle course and race down before time runs out. And then you can fight Grusha.
Tumblr media
I kept forgetting he was a boy this whole time. These characters confuse me greatly. Okay, you obtain all 8 badges, time to meet with Geeta the champ.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was really hoping the first time someone fought for me it would be Tracey Sketchit and not female-Goku over here.
So, you know how after you finish the gym battles, you go on to Victory Road and then face the Elite Four. There’s one trainer outside the Pokemon League and that’s it. Oh, there’s something you’ll have to face that’s more terrifying than 10+ trainers in a cave.
Tumblr media
I know I know all the answers. But she’s so intimidating that I fear I might slip-up.
After that, you face off against the Elite Four. This includes Rika, a toddler, your art teacher, and...
Tumblr media
Oops, wrong file photo.
Tumblr media
...
They’re the same thing.
Yes, not since Koga have we seen such a jump. After you defeat all four of them, Geeta time.
Tumblr media
You know what? I have some things to say. This was by-far, the easiest Elite Four I’ve faced-off against. This might be because a year prior to this, I was facing off against Sinnoh’s Elite Four + Cynthia. Plus, these guys don’t stop in mid-battle to give their pokemon a Full Restore. They just take the beating, thinking they’re going to annihilate you. Spoiler alert, they don’t. Also, don’t expect to take them on again after this. You can only fight the Elite Four once.
That’s right. Let me say it again for the people in the back. This is the only time you can fight the Elite Four and Geeta in this setting.
And now you’re champ.
Tumblr media
He’s so overcome with joy. Okay, time for a sandwich break.
Tumblr media
To be continued...

Major Hassel Headcanon Time let's goooooo - Thinking about how just before Hassel plans to run away from his family, he's handed down an arranged marriage. His father makes it well known he has no choice to accept and goes so far as to prevent Hassel from leaving their manor until his soon to be partner arrives. That soon to be partner who happens to be Lord Hammerlocke of Galar.
Hassel is terrified because he doesn't want to go. He wants to leave to pursue his craft, not move to a far away place. He makes himself small and unappealing when Lord Hammerlocke arrives, but it does nothing. Within days the contracts are signed and Hassel is moving his very few possessions across the world to Galar. As the ship continues to sail on, Hassel's plans to leave become smaller and smaller until he's stepping foot on Galar and realizing he will never be free of his family. Never be free to be himself. He doesn't say anything, just keeps himself small. Lord Hammerlocke, Varis my dear, is a few years older than him, but looks younger than he is. He offhandedly jokes during their trip that his dragon blood keeps him young but Hassel knows it's not a joke. Not when it's also what his family says, what they say he doesn't have. (All you are, is weakness.) He just smiles politely and nods. As it turns out he's a gym leader in Galar, overseeing the eighth and final gym. Hassel resigns himself to a life of nothing that he enjoys, married to a man who doesn't care for him. He settles his stuff (items he was prepared to leave behind) in the room he's been given but doesn't unpack his bag.
A few days after his arrival—after he's seen all of Hammerlocke Castle and the Stadium, seen the baby Dreepy and Goomy and a plethora of other dragons he's never seen before—Lord Hammerlocke sits him down in his study, gently takes hold of his hand, and smiles in a way that for some reason makes Hassel feel safe.
"You have given me something that I don't think you will ever understand how much it means to me. And for that, I must repay you." A Poké Ball is placed in his hand, a kiss is pressed to his forehead, and a single word whispered in his ear.
"Go."
Hassel does. He grabs the Poké Ball, races up to grab his bag, and runs out of Hammerlocke Castle, runs to the closest port, and takes the first ship out of Galar.
Several days later, he ends up in Paldea.
(There's a note he finds in his wallet when he tries to check into a hotel for the night, along with a bank card and a number.
When you can, I would love if you would visit me. Not now, maybe in a year. Take care, and remember all of Hammerlocke's resources are open to you. Goodbye, little fairy.
In his hotel room that night, looking down at a weird phone like device, he opens the Poké Ball and a small Axew jumps out. The Axew is holding a Roseli Berry and happily holds it up for Hassel. As he makes friends with the Axew, a message comes through on the phone.
Take care, my dear.
The next day, he meets a green haired young man in a nearby forest and makes his first friend.

What if... I shared some writing I did...
Or more like, a rewrite of an unpublished fic
A summary of this would be like: Giovanni gets transported to a world only with pokemon and must find a way back home while meeting people like him.
Anyways, here's chapter 1 of a silly story I call: A Villainous Journey Beyond the Horizon
Chapter 1 - Cats in a Strange World
From Kanto to Paldea, the world is inhabited by many strange creatures called Pokémon. From small fish to huge dragons, people live alongside them and befriend them. Battles take place between certain individuals called trainers who go on journeys to be the very best like no one ever was.
Some people, however, try to disrupt the peace. Different teams with different goals that end up hurting people and Pokémon alike. They were always taken down by brilliant trainers that shined so brightly in their field. Whatever ever happened to those villains, though?
...On the ground here lay a cat Pokémon known as meowth. They got up slowly and sat down with a paw on their head. They looked around only to see forest. “What happened…?” The meowth closed their eyes as thoughts plagued their mind. “I can’t remember a thing.” The confused cat spoke to no one but the trees who offered no answers.
The meowth looked down at their paws and the confusion grew more as they stood up straight. They couldn't stop looking at their paws and even pinched themselves to see if this was simply a stupid, little dream. Though the pain just made them curse out instead of waking up. They looked behind themselves to see a tail with a pink tip and some black tufts of fur near the ends, making his tail look more spiked.
The meowth looked around to look for an answer that didn’t exist. If no one was here to explain what the hell was happening and where they were, then they were going to look for what they wanted to know themself. They took one last look at his paws and balled them into two fists before stomping off, deeper in the forest.
The meowth fiddled with their paws as they walked along the grassy terrain that was this forest. It brought back memories of a forest they knew where the trees weren’t too thick and let the sun shine their rays of light upon the ground where caterpies and weedles would play among the grass. The out-of-place cat’s ears swiveled around as they listened to the chirps of what they recognized as pidgeys and spearows. Those familiar sounds put the cat more at ease.
Nothing too interesting happened on this stroll the meowth was taking. Birds chirped, he saw bugs every so often. As much as it was great for not much craziness to happen while they were here, they did want to find at least another person. Just one. That’s all they were asking for…
A growl emerged from the cat’s stomach and they looked around until they found a bush full of berries, or more specifically, oran berries. With a quick swipe of their paw, they snatched a bunch of berries and ate them just as quick. Though before moving on, he grabbed more for the possible long road ahead.
Walking. Walking. And more walking.
This had become a tiring endeavor for the cat. The trees had become so repetitive and the sun would soon fall. It looked to be the middle of the day when they arrived asleep on the ground. No way they were going to sleep again on the ground after so many years of a nice bed in an equally nice house.
As the meowth sulked along, eating berries every so often, he spotted another feline Pokémon laying on the ground. They hid behind a tree to look upon what they were doing, but it seemed they were asleep. The meowth got closer to what appeared to be a sneasel, a Pokemon they knew came from caves that were cold as ice. They stood above the sneasel with a confused expression as they spoke to the blue cat.
“Hello…?” The meowth’s tail swished back and forth as they hoped the other cat would wake up on their own. Unfortunately, however, they didn’t. So the meowth dropped their remaining berries to pick up a stick that was perfect for poking a sneasel awake.
With a few gentle pokes, the sneasel began waking up with a disoriented look as they sat on the ground. They looked over to the meowth who threw the stick aside.
“You’re finally awake,” the meowth started to say, “Now I need your assistance with something.”
The sneasel stared at the meowth for a few seconds before turning their attention to their claws. They looked back at the meowth who had a much more annoyed face. “Don't you dare ignore me, you damn sneasel,” they said with a scowl.
“Apologies,” they responded as they stood up. They turned to the meowth with a tired expression. Though they just woke up, the beige cat would start getting the answers they wanted.
“Where am I?”
“I could ask you the same thing.”
The answer was the absolute last thing the meowth wanted to hear. They needed answers. They need to know where they were, why they were here, and most importantly… what made them look the way they were.
The meowth scowled and hissed at the sneasel. “Then tell me your name! Surely you know what your name is?”
“I assure you, I do.” The sneasel put their claws behind their back. “My name is Cyrus. You should try to calm yourself.” They spoke in a monotone and quiet manner in contrast to the meowth’s louder and ruder manner.
The meowth took a deep breath and sighed. “I just need answers, dammit. How come you don’t even know where you are? Don’t you live here? Or perhaps, a bit farther away?”
Cyrus took a glance at the ground. The meowth took the notion as a no. It seemed the two were in the same boat, so to speak.
“May I ask what your name is? It only makes sense as I told you mine.”
The meowth couldn’t deny that that was true. But should they trust a sneasel they only just met? They could be dangerous. But they were also dangerous and a tough battler. Even if someone long ago beat them before…
“My name is Giovanni. I’m not from around here.”
“That is a bit obvious,” Cyrus replied.
Giovanni’s ears fell and another deep sigh escaped from him. “No, I mean… I come from a different place where I’m not a meowth.” Cyrus’ confused look turned to intrigue.
“I’m actually a-”
“Human?”
Giovanni’s ears shot up again with a surprised look. How was that possibly Cyrus’ first guess to what he really was? Giovanni couldn’t get a word out as Cyrus continued to speak.
“I’m guessing my assumption is right. I’m also human if that makes you feel better.”
What were the chances that this sneasel was also human? Two humans turned Pokémon finding each other this quickly? The chances don’t seem high, but it is possible as seen here and now.
“You know, your name is familiar, Cyrus…”
“So is yours.”
Giovanni definitely heard of this sneasel before, but from where? Maybe a different region? He’s lived around Kanto and Johto his whole life, if Cyrus was from there he would know. He was never the most social person in the region, but he's been around.
“I’m from Sinnoh. Does Team Galactic sound familiar?”
That’s where he heard of Cyrus. On the radio, there was something about Sinnoh being overrun by some team. A team not as great as Giovanni’s, but a team nonetheless.
“I have, yes. Seems to me we have more in common besides being cats,” Giovanni said with a smile. Cyrus tilted their head and Giovanni clasped his paws together before explaining what he meant.
“I’m sure you heard of Team Rocket. The greatest team that has graced our world with even greater power.”
“You mean the one that was taken down by children?”
It felt like daggers stabbed Giovanni’s heart as Cyrus made that mention. His smile faltered and he started to scowl. A claw came from his paw and was pointed at the sneasel. “You didn’t need to mention that, you know.” Cyrus’ looked away and their one ear fell. They stood quiet for a bit before saying, “Apologies.”
Giovanni crossed his arms and sighed. “I don’t have the energy to be angry right now.” His stomach growled like an arcanine and he became much more upset about this situation. No food, no place to sleep, and no idea where he was. Such a horrible fate for someone as great as he.
“We should explore,” Cyrus suggested. They looked around the surrounding forest aimlessly. Giovanni thought this was the best course of action for now. He picked up the oran berries from the ground and ate one quickly.
“Alright. We should go in that direction.” With one paw, Giovanni pointed to where the sun was setting: the west. There was no particular reason behind the decision, he just sort of pointed in a random direction.
Cyrus nodded. “I have no objections. Hopefully we find someplace before it gets even darker.”
Giovanni ate another berry and marched westward with Cyrus by his side. They could have been hungry, but they weren’t as important as Giovanni. Together though, they will find a way to leave this place and return home. No matter what.

Does wo-chien know about the other legendaries outside of paldea, like the ultra beasts or ho-oh?
Tumblr media
W: "I will try my best to give opinions on them."
Tumblr media
W: "I just hope that they forgive me if I say that I don't know about them..!"
Starting at gen 1 and ending at gen 9, under the read more -
Mewtwo - "I have heard about this one. The cloned creature that was created in a laboratory on an island in the...Kanto region...I think. One wonders about what happened after it was released. What did it do? What were its thoughts about its creators, and about being a clone? What powers does it possess? This does pique my curiosity to no end. I wonder if and when I can get to meet one. I just hope that, if I do, it doesn't see me as a threat..."
Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos - "...to be honest, these ones scare me, mostly due to them being massive powerful birds. One of them being an Ice-type and one of them being Fire doesn't really help either... I am curious about finding out what they do as powerful forces of nature, though. I'll find a way to look into that as soon as I can go back to the academy library."
Suicune, Entei, Raikou - "I'll go through these one by one. The Fire-type is another one that scares me. Then again, I can say that about most Fire-types that I come across. The Electric one..." (increasing judgmental glare) "...I have no comment about..." (glare subsides) "...and the Water one..." (he looks at the picture, then quietly turns it face down) "...I don't want to talk about it..."
Lugia, Ho-Oh - "The first one is...an enigma... At first, I didn't know how it was able to stay airborne, but after I saw that I was a Psychic-type, I began to understand it more. This one is also said to be the 'master of the elemental birds' too...which I hope is mentioned in any books that I find about them. The giant phoenix...is yet another powerful being that scares me. If I find one, I'm keeping my distance..."
Regirock/ice/steel - (he casts his intense glare on the nearest 'UN UN UN' meme, which stops when he sighs) "They're known as the elemental golems of the Hoenn region, which requires some specific Pokemon, alongside some knowledge of...Braille? ...in order to encounter them? If I see them, I have the feeling that the Rock-type would be afraid, the Ice-type would see me as a threat, and the Steel-type wouldn't have much of a reaction."
Groudon, Kyogre - "The Hoenn region's gigantic personifications of land and sea. They are also known to get into fights whenever they meet too...which I think would be heavily in the Water-type's favor every time. I hope that, if they decide to stride upon the surface of Paldea, that they don't decide to do that. Both would have me to answer to if they do..."
Rayquaza - "There is...very little that I can say about this one that doesn't equate to 'giant scary flying dragon'... ...because that's what it is in my eye. It is...also something that, I imagine, would instantly see me as a threat and try to strike me, which I really don't want to think about...!"
Deoxys - "I...don't know about this one, but I hope that the academy library has info on it, though. I can say that about every one of these powerful creatures. Reading about them is going to be better then getting to encounter them."
Mesprit, Azelf, Uxie - "These are known as the 'Lake Guardians' of the Sinnoh region. These are also among the first that I read about too. They were created by...the sky llama...and represent three different emotions. I would like to get to know them first-hand, but, at the same time, I don't want them to be afraid of me..."
Heatran - "This one scares me. Quite a lot. Apparently, there's very little information about this creature, aside from that it lives in volcanoes and is very protective over a rock...? I hope to never get to encounter one, as I don't think I'll last very long if I do..."
Regigigas - "I have also read about this one. The gigantic being that towed continents with ropes...according to what I've read. It is also the leader of the Hoenn golems too..?" (he puts a vine to where his chin would be if he had one) "...I really need to get more books from the academy library... ...I hope they don't mind if I end up taking out most of them... ...these beings are so very interesting...!"
Palkia, Dialga - "The main duo of legends from Sinnoh. One controls space, and the other controls time. The history teacher sometimes covers this sort of thing in her lessons, and I do manage to listen in when she does. I must tell Ms Raifort that her lessons make me love learning about these god-like entities!"
Cresselia, Darkrai - "From what I have found out, these two entities represent dreams and nightmares. I...don't think I'll encounter them over here, in Paldea, but if I do get to go to their home region, I'll try to do so. They're quite intriguing, to say the least."
Arceus - "..." (he looks away, eye closed) "No comment."
Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Keldeo - "I have heard of this quartet, mostly from academy students that have traveled to here from Unova. They call them 'The Swords of Justice'...which makes me both very curious and quite intimidated. If they ever saw me, I wonder what their reactions would be? The more I think about it, the more anxious I get... ...I'm going to stop thinking about them now..."
Tornadus, Thundurus, Landorus - "This trio scares me. Some of the Unova-native students have told me that they're their region's equivalent to the Ruins...which mainly makes me want to find out how that came to be. It looks like I'll be spending a lot longer in the library, then!" (he shows a very happy expression) "I do love it in there~!"
Enamorus - "Spectre and Sulfur told me about this one. It scares me a tiny bit more than the other three, mostly due to it being a powerful Fairy-type. This is...yet another entity that I'm hoping to read about rather then encounter first-hand..."
Reshiram, Zekrom - "These, from what I've heard, are Unova's main legendaries, and they were also part of a much larger combined entity. Fusion is a topic that I haven't caught up on quite yet, though. I need to look into it more. I am more scared of the first one than the latter...mostly due to it being a big scary Fire-type dragon... ...these are going to be easier to read about than taking chances with an encounter..."
Kyurem - "This...is the one that the first two were fused with to create the combined entity...I think? I haven't read much about this one, nor have I caught any information from the Unova students recently, so my thoughts about it are minuscule at the moment..."
Genesect - "Metal bug..." (he shakes his head) "Mm-mm! I don't like it! Moving on!"
Xerneas, Yveltal - "Some of the Kalosian students have told me about these two. They represent life and death, and, even though one is another powerful Fairy-type, I think that, if I met it, we could learn to be on good terms. The latter...the big bird...I have yet to make up my mind on whether or not I would want to meet it. Both are interesting entities, nonetheless."
Zygarde - "This one... ...I'm not sure if I understand it well enough to form opinions on it... I have read about it, even if the academy library doesn't have that many books on it...and, apparently, it can come apart and become green cells, which can come together and make...a dog...then a snake...then a...I don't know what to call the biggest form that it can take... ...this one confuses me, that's for sure..."
Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala - "This is the first that I've heard about a legendary evolution. The academy has had some new arrivals from Alola recently, which I have been asking about what their home region is like. I want to visit. I sound very nice! ...back on track - this evolutionary line is...confusing. Hopefully I get to see it in action one day. I shall dedicate some time to writing it down if I do."
Necrozma - "This... ...I have seen. It happened one day while I was trying to mend my shrine door. The humans and Pokemon were seen running for any sort of cover, and after I felt the ground start heating up, I dashed inside my shrine and kept myself pressed as much I could against the back wall as the searing-hot light crept across the floor. When the light receded, I went outside and saw that the region was burning. The first thing I did was put on my assistance gear and rush to Mesagoza to help those that needed it." (he goes quiet for a few seconds) "I...hope that an event like that never happens again."
Tapu Koko, Lele, Bulu, Fini - "Alolan students frequently tell me about this quartet of interesting entities. They guard over the islands of that region, and they're compared to me and the other Ruins. If I can, I'll ask if there's a way to see them. I would like to do so...but only after they get to know that I'm not a threat..."
Ultra Beasts - "Unique beings from other worlds that come to this one through wormholes... ...at least that's what one of the teachers tells me... From what I can tell, they're quite frightening in their own ways, but, at the same time, they're intriguing to no end. I must find more information on these creatures. I wonder if the academy has a computer room I could spend some time in..."
Zacian, Zamazenta - "I have heard about these two from Chester. He talks about them a lot whenever asked, which is fitting, since he's from the same region that they're from. Chester has described them to me, and, from what he has said, the one that carries the sword is more frightening than the one that carries the shield. I don't want to meet them, though... ...I wouldn't last very long if I did..."
Eternatus - "I...don't understand this one... Once again, I got information about this entity from Chester, and he has said about it being a skeletal dragon that has been the cause of something called 'The Darkest Day' in Galar...and that it has a connection to something called 'dynamaxing'...? To be honest, I'm more interested in finding out about what that does than the legendary itself. I must ask more questions to Chester about that. I also wonder if I have enough room on my tablets for all of the things that he'll say to me..."
Spectrier, Glastrier - "From what I can make out, these two are steeds of an ancient Galarian king...? I have had some horrible run-ins with royalty, so I don't talk about that subject often, but I am curious about these two steeds and the one that rode them."
Calyrex - "Chester has told me that this was the ancient Galarian king, and that he brought bountiful harvests to the more colder parts of the region. I am unsure if this is a Pokemon or a person, though... ...I hope that the library has more information on him. I also hope that he wasn't as bad as the tyrant that once ruled Paldea...!"
Mythicals - "I know very little about these entities. Some have said that they're god-like, while others have described them as 'adorable'. I do want to find out more, but I'm unsure about where to look. I have asked at the academy library, but they don't have that many books on them. I hope that I do get to find out more about them, as they're among the ones that have piqued my curiosity the most."

It is time for the clash of titans, the most massive of meetings, the scene to end all scenes. Behold the almighty might of: Just That One Petite Parable From Paldea
Geeta approached the door to Clavell's house. Striding over, she rang the doorbell with a decisive thrust of her finger. Clavell immediately answered.
"Your directions were... rather obtuse but I have arrived," said Geeta.
"Ah, Geeta, good to see you!" saiud Clavell. "You better be ready, for our Top Champion I've made a champion lunch!"
"Borrowing terms from the Galarians I see," Geeta said in her usual airy tone.
Clavell guided Geeta to her seat, then promptly went to his kitchen. However upon opening the door he foundd a ghastly surprise - smoke coming from his oven.
"Lordy! My Klawf claws - they're all burnt!"
Looking around in a panic, he spied something out the window - a sandwich shop. Clavell grinned mischievously.
"Now there's an idea... I could simply purchase a sandwich and claim it is my own handiwork! Brilliant, Clavell!"
He began climbing through said window, his old bones creaking to get through, when suddenly he heard a voice that made him freeze.
"Clavell? What are you doing?"
He whipped around best he could in his awkward position to see Geeta looking straight at him with her big, doe-y eyes.
"Geeta! I- I was just doing an exercise trend popular with the kids! Come on and try, it's fun!"
Geeta blinked, then turned to the smoldering oven. "That's an awful lot of smoke."
"Oh that's not smoke. It's just steam! Steam from the steamed clams we'e having."
"...What, perchance, is a clam? Is it like a Clampearl?"
"...I'll explain over lunch! You head right along back to your seat."
Geeta raised an eyebrow but did so. As soon as she was gone Clavell finally managed to burst through the window and run to the sandwich shop.
----------------
Geeta sat waiting in the dining room, wondering what was taking Clavell so long with his Clamperl. It was then Clavell entered carrying a large silver tray loaded to the brim with various sorts of sandwiches.
"Geeta! Prepare yourself for my tastebud-tingling sandwiches!"
Geeta raised an eyebrow. "I was assuming these were the... Steamed clam..perl? You told me about.``
"What? Oh, I meant to say steamed sams, it's another term for sandwiches!"`
"...You refer to sandwiches by the name "steamed sams"?"
Clavell gulped. "Er, yes, it's a local saying in some places in Paldea."
Geeta steepled her fingers. "Fascinating.... Which places?"
"Er... midwest Paldea mostly."
"Really? I've been to Cascarrafa on Kofu's gym inspections and have never heard such a thing."
Clavell started sweating. "What? No, it's a Porto Marinada turn of phrase."
"Interesting..."
Geeta kept her fingers steepled for a moment before picking up a sandwich and biting into it.
"These sandwiches remind me of the ones they have at Every Wich Way..."
Clavell blanched. "OF course not. This recipe has been passed down through my family for generations."
"An ancestral recipe for steamed sams."
"Yes."
"Odd. Nothing in these sandwiches appears to be steamed."
"Well, you see, there's the thing, I - oh, give me a second."
Clavell swiftly went to his kitchen, only to open the door and see the entire thing was on fire. He paused briefly before looping right back around to his dining room, the door swinging on its hinges.
"Well that was a productive meal! I'm stuffed You best be going now Geeta."
"Perhaps I sha-"
Geeta suddenly slood up and pointed, uncharacteristic shock on her face. "What Treasures Of Ruin-brought calamity is going on in there?"
Clavell paused, then looked to his burning kitchen, then back to Geeta. "Area Zero radiation."
"Outside Area Zero, independent of the Terastilization phenomenon, exclusively Fire Tera energy, localized entirely within your kitchen?!"
"Precisely!"
"...Fascinating. May I have a look?"
"I would rather you not."
Clavell quickly escorted Geeta outside. A voice yelled out from an upper window. "Clavell! The house is burning!"
"No Tyme, it's just Tera crystals," said Clavell.
"Well, you are a very strange man, Clavell, but... You sure steamed those sams!" Geeta said with a smile.
She headed off. "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU CLAVELL!" saidTyme from above.
Clavell quickly realized that while he had conquered Geeta the fire wold be the least of his worries.
