There is an aliveness and joy in stepping into the messy beauty of contrast. Choosing to move away from safe and see how the story evolves. Being in that space of trust that is intuitive art and allowing connections to form. My imagined owl story worlds make me smile and add brightness along the way. As I post this work in progress, I feel like the wing of the large owl wants to be a small owl huddling into the mother owls side. I love how these story relationships evolve when I pause and listen into this guided story space as she evolves. This 11×14 Acrylic painting, I call it " Into the woods I go, to loose my mind" I went back into a time in my life where life was every where, there's a path, squared off and no way out or it can keep going further and further, this painting is 2 different locations in my mind while I was painting it, back then blurred is how everything was in my mind, because for me life was moving to quickly and it was like everything I was meant to see, I saw it yes but I really couldn't see at all. The purple resembles the horizon, the views I always got to enjoy, but my fast life kept taking me down everytime I thought I was up. The vertical lines can be nature and the outdoors, a trail that keeps going, here is the twist. The vertical lines in this painting represent 2 things to me, because 2 things came to mind as I was meditating while painting this, Jail, behind the bars in jail, which resembles the dark upper left corner, I couldn't go past the black , so everything being the square in the middle to just stuck in the middle of everything, being able to see and hear everything. It teaches you things only when your ready to be taught. And I was ready.

The Gold splatter is the light (being myself), I had to be my own light, that always picked myself up, no matter how dark the woods would get, how depressing/crazy it was in jail, I made it work and I came out stronger always!!. I actually realized what I had to do and I changed, I'm standing in the ashes of who I used to be and will continue to paint my past emotions, memories, things I can't unsee, traumas and soul touching experiences. #wedorecover #10monthssober

Finding my wings… Went to a local water park which was a pool way up in the rainforests. Found wings along the way and just wanted to play. I’ve always loved butterflies and the guidance of angels… a lovely bonus in a magnificent natural space. The backdrop just fills me with joy and the wings are so much fun. Nature is that happy space that inspires my art stories so this holiday is about gathering all those lovely details and experiences to bring home and add some of the magic into my art.
