Hope everybody is having a happy holiday week. We are out of town until the new year but I’m honestly looking forward to January (that’s a first)when we get our furniture and can decorate and settle into life in our new home. I have a few craft projects I want to do. Hopefully get employed but I’m trying to enjoy the carefree break from working. I have a new list of art supplies I want to purchase.

My in laws did try hard to spoil me for Christmas. I typed this out twice already and tumblr keeps deleting my post so forgive me if this isn’t as long and thoughtful sounding and it was previously. My MiL made me an awesome quilt that pertains to my interests. Not shown my brothers youngest sister got me some TLK uno cards lol. The silver simba me and my husband actually saw at the mall the other day and We wrapped it and agreed I can’t have it til Christmas. It’s pewter and a music box. It sings ‘Circle of Life’ when you twist the base. My other SiL painted me an awesome portrait of my dog. I love it. She said she was afraid to give it to me because she knows I’m a bit artsy but I find it hilarious. I have a small collection of artwork people have made for me and I love them.

We took our dog to a boarding facility near my MiLs house. It’s a doggy resort and spa..it looked fancy In the lobby even had dog massage rooms lol. It had a pet rehab facility too so that was cool. Have no idea what then kennels look like In the back.

We are driving tomorrow to California to visit knotts berry farms for the weekend although Im detouring and plan on going to Downtown Disney to shop so..

Spring? LOL But even if the weather doesn’t know it, change is coming.

Mid April and we have snow forecasted for tonight. I have scheduled much extra time for myself and my art this year. I have finished one book’s illustrations and I am days away from the second book completion. Awaiting me is a time for my art table and studio to begin again to be a place of the creation of art for art sake for a bit. Also, there is Spring Cleaning to do. Usually it is so simple, but this year, it seems that my mind is cleaning more deeply than usual. I am really looking forward to the impending time for cleaning and clearing of schedules and spaces and life. Everything feels/has felt like it is in flux for the past couple of months. Yes, Yes, I know all about the planets and mercury retrograde and the wild astrology of this year that is resetting all our lives from 3D to 5D, and maybe that is what is causing all this, but maybe not. If you could do anything with your life, what would it be? If you could pursue anything as your livelihood, what would it be? Do you believe that you can “be” anything you want? Do you believe that if you leap the net will appear? If you had a list of all of your responsibilities and duties and projects, and could keep or toss them as you choose, which would you keep? Which would you toss? If you could go through your house with a fine toothed comb and only keep those important bits with significance and importance, what would they be? Last month we had our first of six sessions in the painting series Mitakuye Oyasin at Life Force Arts. We began with the Stone Nation, this is the image that accompanies this blog. This Sunday we will be doing the Plant Nation. From the steadfast endurance of the Stone Nation we move now to the everchanging, flowing, growing of the Plant Nation. It seems appropriate. The year has been changing in stride with this series and I am enjoying watching the transformation take place. Last year, actually all the time since I decided to open my own business has been about the steadfast stick-to-it nature of a person who is committed to pressing on and pushing through, no matter what so that a dream can become real. The very embodiment and endurane of the Stone People themselves. A toughness and endurance that has been required of me since birth. But now, just like Spring and Plants, it is time to soften and green up, it is time to be more fluid and more tender and become something new and flowing and green. It is time, finally, to let down some of the guards and allow some gentleness to take over and see what might grow in this new more open and gentle ground.

Today is the day our house is supposed is supposed to be ready for move in. We have to be at the housing office at 2:30. Late check out of hotel is at 1pm. So we have over an hour to fart around with all our belongings and a dog. Guess we will go throw her ball and buy her dog food.

Otherwise again I can’t be creative under these circumstances. We have gone rock climbing almost every other day and signed up for our first outdoor climbing trip in January. We’ve visited probably every mall and farmers market in the area though haven’t actually bought much of anything. I did get an ‘ugly’ Christmas sweater to wear for Christmas. We went to what I thought was a ‘dead mall’ and they had a surprise hidden gem of a porcelain figurines store. I got me something to have my husband give me for Christmas. So I’ll post a picture of it when I open it Christmas morning.

Took our dog to daycare twice so she could get energy out. Was a little worried this second time. She could barely move when we went to pick her up. She moved like a geriatric dog the next day. I was like ‘oh lord she got the rhabdo’ both of us showing our age I guess.

I had a job interview as well earlier in the week. Realized I hadn’t packed anything to wear to any interview so I had to run out and buy scrubs real fast. I thought it went well but I dunno if I’ll get a call back. I’m not going to apply for anything else until after the holidays.
