No, but seriously, can you imagine how utterly surreal it is to be Song Taewon and have two of the most unhinged people on the planet both decide to become intensely invested in your life and health after knowing you for like five seconds? One of them uses aggressive mob tactics to try and get you to let them chauffeur you around, the other is a little guy you could crush with your pinky on accident who hunts you down in the middle of a pit of monsters with a packed lunch convinced you will starve if he doesn’t personally feed you. You have to play an intense game of de-escalation at literally all times to keep this same random guy from calling and yelling at your boss about your sleep schedule, and this is still an improvement on that time you barely convinced him it wasn’t necessary to utterly annihilate your place of work to get you more vacation time. The other one has probably historically attempted to set your closet and/or you yourself on fire so he can buy you clothes.

You just want to live your corporate slave life and resist the dark yearnings of your soul in PEACE but instead you’re having to dodge two very powerful men who both desperately want to take care of you.

Not to be a damaged Californian but it's wild to me that in other places you can just like. go to a river or a lake. and hang out there. and swim around. and that's just allowed and encouraged. What the fuck.

#i know we have the ocean but you gotta understand that you don't really go to the ocean in California. you go to the beach. #and when you are in the ocean it is usually a fight all the way. it's freezing and salty and will bowl you over. #to be clear i love that but also like. sometimes i just want a swimming pool experience but not at a fucking pool. #i have been in a california freshwater body twice in my whole life. #if you had lake access you were rich enough to own and haul a boat. #like that was so foreign that I told my dad at like 15 that I was gonna buy him a boat when i sold my first book. this was a PIPE DREAM. #(i do intend to deliver on that promise if i ever sell a fucking book btw. i will do it. #my dad is great and he deserves a boat on which to fish!!!)

This is my small Lucky Stone collection. Lucky Stones the ear bones (otoliths) of sheephead fish (also known as freshwater drum). Theyre characterized by the "J" or "L" shaped groove in the corner. You find them washed up on the shores of the Great Lakes, these came from Lake Erie.

#the second pic was a pair i stole right out of the carcass of a dried out fish #i just think theyre neat. my mum and i compete to find them when were up on the lakes #she probably has way more than me #i just really like the shape and how they feel and the fact that theyre ear bones #bc that makes them special #like this is a bone that allow this creature to orient itself in space #without it the creature would be lost to vertigo #idk i was spiraling last night bc sometimes everything feels like bullshit and nothing matters then i spend an hour reading about something #weird like otoliths and its like. oh! what a weird little thing. the world is so strange and wonderful it makes me want to cry #and it drags me back from the pits of dispair #there are beautiful things in this world and sometimes they grow in the heads of fish haha #with otoliths you can also cut them in half and use them to age the fish. so theyre bones that orients and keeps a record #anyway just wanted to share my little collection of fish bones #fish #bones #nature #lake erie #you can see a lot of these r pretty old bc theyre all smoothed out and misshapen in comparison to the ones i got right #outta the fish head #idk they just make me happy #i should make one into a bracelet

Besties, it's clipboard season again, and not to brag but I'm really fucking good at colors

#clipboard season: when i tey desperately to paint a clipboard for all of the leadership and my staff at the camp i work at #this year it amounts to about fifteen clipboards #i choose a different cool thing that reminds me of the person or what i think they would like and then paint it on the back of a clipboard!! #today i started the first because i got the overwhelming vision while i was at work and i needed to paint it #this guy is the nature director. loves fishing and is very good at it. knows a shit ton about fish and fishing #so im painting his clipboard in the style of those educational posters with a bunch of different fish on it #yknow the yellowy beige ones with like fish or plants drawn on them #yeah. im doing that with common fish found in our lake!! #which prompted this post because. that yellowy beige was a fun color to mix up. and not to brag but i got it just about perfect #now comes the drawing. im better at painting than drawing #colors and stuff make more sense than lines and stuff. but im getting better! #im learning more and more every day. and i guess today (and for rhe next ten days) ill be learning to draw fish #(I'm giving myself ten days per clipboard) #(last year when i started i only had like three days per clipboard to finish them before camp) #(spoiler: i finished exactly one) #really hoping this year ill do better. mostly because i love painting and this is a fun way to remember to do ir #as well as challenge nyself and get better #i hope youre all having a great 2024

i wish i were the type of person who wholeheartedly loved swimming in oceans/lakes/rivers but unfortunately A. i am so so susceptible to any kind of cold or cool water & i can’t last more than 15 minutes in it and B. i’m scared of deep dark water
