in ep 11 when fyodor "wins" its established hes going to try to get rid of nikolai because he tried to kill him (nikolai saying "anyone who tries to oppose you always meets a gruesome fate, huh?" not verbatim but he said sm like that)

and then almost immediately after fyodor "dies" himself, supposedly eliminating any threat towards nikolai and the others

Me with a late night foolish thought: every time Desmond holds the apple, he somehow gets a "call". Like a Zoom call, but the caller? Is somehow always an Isu who should no longer be alive. And it happens often enough (and never around others) he would almost dare to call some of them, phone buddies? Or something. Like, he manages to tolerate Aita's inhumane bitching. He somehow gives relationship advise to Loki. Hades? Being grounded sucks. Desmond commiserates. Juno gets hanged up on. Always.

..Okay this is a bit of follow up to call ask. Because there is also this idea of one of the Isu taking offence to Desmond not knowing something. Long story short Desmond is also stuck with video call lessons with that Isu

I kinda like the idea that this looks like an actual zoom call and Desmond’s background is usually wherever the hell he is while the Isus all have different backgrounds because they know how to operate the connection better than Desmond (and Bastet always has the cat filter on). To Desmond, it’s like he’s asleep and is now part of a video call but, once the call ends, he’ll be back to whatever the hell he was doing with the POE and only a fraction of a second have passed. Hell, Desmond isn’t even sure that any time has passed at all.

Unorganized Ideas:

Desmond started off just listening to Loki bitch about his day and he’s pretty good at it because he’s a bartender. Things escalate once he hears that Loki is married but has a mistress on the side and that’s how the whole relationship advice thing starts. He doesn’t just deal with whatever drama was happening in the Loki-Angrboda-Sigyn front. He also had to act half-therapist/half-referee when he gets into a groupcall with Loki and Odin.

Desmond normally just ignores Aita whenever he talks because that’s how he deals with Aita’s superiority complex and lack of interest in human life so he wouldn’t explode himself but, sometimes, he can’t help it and starts scolding Aita like he was a selfish child. Aita always gets tongue-tied whenever Desmond does this (if we add Elijah into this, this inability to argue with Desmond whenever he’s being scolded is something all his Sages inherited)

Juno is jealous that her own husband gets to talk to Desmond but she doesn’t show it. If we add in a timey-wimey complication, Juno’s ‘favoritism’ for Desmond while still being a bitch to him is heavily influenced by all of Desmond’s missed calls

I like the idea that it’s not just one Isu who tries to teach him things but all the Isus. Whenever he tries to ask the Apple about something (because Desmond doesn’t want to have an iPhone or ask Google so he’s like “Hey, Apple, what’s…”), an Isu who is ‘arguably’ the best equipped to answer his questions pop up and they keep Desmond on the call because they're offended Desmond doesn't understand something 'so basic'. Aita tends to pop up a lot because he’s a genius and always gloats about it while snarking about Desmond’s intelligence but absolutely starts panicking when Desmond tries to end the call.

Desmond once asked what was the calculations (did the Isus make it? Or were they just accessing it?) and it turned into a 5 hour call with different Isus popping in to add more and more information and it all ends with an old Isu that didn’t bother telling Desmond their name and being a cryptic old shit until the end of the call. Desmond, as to this day, still do not know who the hell that Isu was.

Hades likes to call Desmond ‘nephew’ which would be weird if not for the fact that lot of the haughtier Isus like to call him ‘Minerva’s child’ as well. Desmond would like to stress that he did not have that kind of relationship with Minerva but he was pretty sure they were not being literal with that ‘nickname’.

Minerva is surprisingly absent and Desmond is pretty sure she’s avoiding him which means she may have had (accidentally or intentionally) a hand on why this is happening to him.

You’re definitely right about him gaining feelings without realizing. I’m going to be honest here, the way he’d react to falling for someone would probably change depending on the situation. That being said, if you want the answer I like the most… Although he’d see the signs, he’d stubbornly ignore them. He’d notice that he’s drawn to reader. He’d notice he can’t ignore them. He’d notice he wants to stay with them. But giving in would go against what he believes he needs to do. So he’d do his best to avoid reader, while also simultaneously being unable to ignore them, so he’d be drawn back.

If you ask my personal opinion, kinda going back to his character quest and the Golden Apple Archipelago arc, Kazuha is the kind of person that tends to ignore things that makes him uncomfortable. He prioritizes having his peace of mind over everything else. I’m not saying he’s ignoring trauma from the past, but I believe he has a tendency to convince himself that he’s okay with things when he’s really not. I mean, both events focus on his relationship to his family. At the end of both events, he says he wishes to learn more of his family and to fulfill what he perceives to be his obligations to them. But where did we see him after? Barely in Inazuma.

So to say he’d be either disturbed or accepting would be inaccurate, in my opinion. Kazuha is like water. He takes the path of least resistance. Feeling something toward a situation represents resistance, so he’d rather just pretend it doesn’t exist. He’ll only confront it when he absolutely has to. I kinda go in more about it here and here.
