#anyway this shit is about Liliana

The thing that gets me is, like, Liliana - what did YOU think was happening in that charged and significant conversation you had with your daughter just before all this shit went down?? You know, your daughter who is actively working against your cause?? Saying "Mama, I want you to leave him/there's a fight coming/I don't want to fight you/it's not too late to run away/are you prepared to kill me? It could happen/can't we just get rid of Ludinus and make sure Predathos stays asleep" She is so gone into her own narrative she genuinely missed a giant flag for an upcoming security risk. Not just the assassination; she might understandably have a blind spot wanting to believe her daughter wouldn't seek or allow her death - but this is about all the other resistance missions concurrently as well. Yes, Imogen is "as stubborn as you" - and like you, she's not going to just sit on her hands, and is in fact working with the Volition towards all the goals she is outright telling you! Imogen isn't the little girl you left behind ("children, like you-"), she's a powerful woman in her late twenties, and the flipside of "are you prepared to kill me" is the unspoken reverse! Yes, Liliana, she knew!! Anyway this is all SO juicy and delicious, please continue.

Which character is not as hot as everyone else seems to think?
We've talked about this in DMs anyway but OTOHAN. She's physically attractive I suppose, although that's 100% from official art and absolutely not from initial description (perhaps that's just me, but Matt described her as having eyes like a bird of prey, and somehow the image of her in my head has always been. does anyone remember the weird turkey pictures of Ole Golly in Harriet the Spy (the book). Is this too weird a pull? Did I make it up because I can't seem to find an online image? Unclear.) But point being before the official art came out I was not imagining her as attractive, even. And then there's personality. Like, yeah, you can say someone is hot based on just a physical image without knowing them; this is how celebrity works. But when you've only one got one singular physical image and it doesn't really match your mind's eye which isn't terribly attractive, anyway and then there's no personality but...I can't even say zealotry because we literally don't know anything about her motivations other than raw murder. I can't even enjoy the inherent eroticism of the sword. Anyway. If you want hot middle age women villains why not og Delilah before she became a loser, or Raishan's human form, or Ripley, or Avantika, or Vess deRogna, or Liliana. If you just want hot middle age women with a propensity for violence why not Deanna with Jerry the Goat. If you are specifically interested in the "milf" archetype (Otohan is not a mother, so this is rather telling) then might I suggest Veth, who is not middle-aged yet but she is a mother and she is super good at violence. All of these women have hopes and dreams and personalities and aren't a blank dull slate to project upon, as I personally am entirely unattracted to the latter. Anyway hopefully this also fulfills one obligation to either @playerkingsley or @whirlingbadger who asked about "mischaracterized"; Otohan is a polarizing figure with many who agree with the above as well but she is also wildly mischaracterized as hot and interesting when she is at best depicted as attractive and deathly (and deadly) boring. She bored everyone to death; the sword just got in front of her.
Which character is way hotter than everyone else seems to think?
Eshteross. I fear we moved on too soon when he died. Everyone in Bells Hells wanted a slice of this hot old orc man when he was doing his sword practice, and also he was community-minded and loyal and devoted. More generally you know that post that's like "hobbits have it all figured out, farmers market high as shit, why are people horny for elves"? This is true but also might I suggests orcs. Elves are overrated. Why are people's fantasy lithe hairlessness. This is a very narrow beauty ideal and I reject it. We, as a fandom, and dare I say, a society, need to be hornier for orcs.
I'm going to go watch candela and the inbox remains closed and will for much of the rest of the day but there are two more asks that have the exact same two hearts and I will be providing two more separate answers as well as another mischaracterization answer, and possibly making an eye appointment although I'm inclined to think the hearts just look super alike on my computer.

The fanbase is scaring me, the redesigns brought up some weird people that are REALLY passionate about Liliana being half naked
Like theres a whole war going on on twitter rn and the poor character designer got harassed
My problem is with the amount of people upset with this, like i knew we had a bunch of pedos around because of the way tappei writes the girls, but damn i didnt think there were this many of them 💀
yes ive heard about that....... im answering your ask late oops haah but i hope the situations a Bit better..... the toxic parts of this fandom give me a headache but my usual motto is to stay off twitter, touch grass, ignore people, and then hold onto my own viewpoints unless proven wrong alsjdflsdj but like. yeah this fandom is a bit tough to stay in when it comes to certain circles (for example the amount of people low quality shitposting / ranting about the fandom or whatever on rezero ao3 atm in the past days/weeks is. mm. interesting). not my first time being in larger fandoms that make you sometimes feel like youre fighting in the trenches (you could name off a few big fandoms notorious for being toxic that date back to like 2016 and odds are ive been in a couple lajdlf) but yeah seeing people complain about liliana and capella's designs and then overly fixate on emilia's boobs when these three characters have more to bring to the table than just that and theres lots and lots of good things to say about the s3 trailer and their designs..... mm. yeah. im squinting hard at a few of the things ive heard on that. but anyway!!
like the new designs are an Improvement. In General. like ok, as a boob haver myself ("boob haver" is the funniest phrase to me alsdjfls but it is true nonetheless, i am one) i do not give a shit about emilias larger boobs like ok?? her boobs are bigger?? she is still my fav ever and sometimes it just happens when youre still a growing teen/young adult and emilias back to her more revealing main outfit when she wore a different outfit in s2 so the difference in chest size is really not that much. but liliana and capella? those are Improved designs. i think ive talked abt the treatment of underage characters / characters who appear underage on my blog before (and i definitely couldve worded myself better then but i stand behind the fact that some of the stuff otsuka and tappei do regarding this in rezero is just Unnecessary).
could designs like emilia's still be improved on in other ways? yeah 100%, just in the sense that there could probably be changed a bit to fit her slightly more timid and soft spoken personality. or you could take different directions on it in general if you wanted. ive seen some great redesigns of her main outfit!! though her main outfit in of itself is pretty nice to look at imo and its iconic and well-known for a reason. im of the personal opinion that i wish it was a little less revealing in the same vein that her s2 main outfit was (i like that outfit a lot!!) but its still a really solid design overall.
i had some faith after seeing the anime designers fix up typhoon's original design to be More Appropriate, and i love how the essence of liliana and capella's designs were kept the same. like its not just that theyre a little less revealing (and even then, theyre both still showing a lot of skin!!! which is good!!! i like the improvement while keeping the main stuff the same), but stuff like liliana's pants aren't transparent (probably to make it easier to animate?) and the yellow/orange gradient in capella's hair looks great!! they also both look more like grown women which is a bonus. unless youre Weird about this shit which is unfortunately a small percentage of the rezero community. like you cant win with those sort of people ig, bc capella's boobs are bigger too ljasdlfj youd think that win more people over.
also i appreciate capella's sports bra bc unlike elsa's outfit it Actually looks like it's supporting her chest. if youre someone with boobs and you dont have a flat chest, youre gonna need support when being active or itll Hurt. and elsa Does Not have proper chest support okay. ill forever wince remembering elsa's design in that sense HAH....
anyway but i digress. i got no clue what to do with toxic people in fandoms despite spending a lot of time lurking in large fandoms with loud toxic people haah.... its hard to do much about it especially with increasingly declining media literacy rates everywhere.... the notorious misogyny/homophobia/etc that can happen sometimes in anime communities.... that sort of thing. i kinda just avoid it when it comes to rezero in specific, or briefly talk about it on here, or rant about it to myself in my head or chat with pals about it in private if it really frustrates me that much!! and id say im a pretty patient person hah... im not frustrated often. and the fandom is not all weird people of course and i can attest to that as ive chatted with a lot of people here... ive also seen a lot of people leave due to the fandom's Issues which is. totally fair tbh.
and i think rezero is often a "baby's first fandom" so to speak... i dont mean that in a bad way of course but its more like its the first exposure to fandom and fandom etiquette and fic etiquette and that sort of thing when it comes to english circles. or at least its a pattern ive noticed, so my theory is that that occasionally that combines with toxic fans and then you get a few people complaining about the community and how bad our fics are on rezero ao3 ig lajdlfjsdlf. which is false by the way :<< and an annoying misuse of ao3 as a free creative archive :<<
but ultimately i hope the rezero character designer's alright (and honestly theyve done super super great work - like the anime Did Not need to give emilia a bajillion outfits and go above and beyond with improving liliana, capella, giving the suwens and their hometown a whole unique aesthetic, etc). and also while i have stuff to criticize with otsuka and tappei... and the toxic parts of the fandom hah... i still enjoy rezero apart from that and the uproar with the designs has not chipped away at me too much!! ive been in this fandom long enough i guess lmao i just roll with punches at this point T^T but i also just try to look on the bright side a lot in general so ;-;;;
these are the sorts of things i like to be aware about but i dont like to get myself super involved with it (since itll probably make it worse and/or make me stressed for no good reason lmfaoo) and i wont let it enjoy the parts of rezero that i do enjoy a lot (which is to say like. the other 98% of rezero hah). so. getting off twitter is the biggest godsend i promise lajdlsfj.
but anyway!! yeah i dont have much organized thoughts on all of this, this is just me rambling my feelings on it. hope this all makes sense anon <3

top ten favorite Oxventure episodes because I feel like it let’s go. og Oxventure only otherwise you know Lampblack Wedding would be top of my list, followed by whoever’s first to make a Victoria McClary supercut.
Heist Society: Fancy party is my be-all end-all favorite ttrpg trope. I have watched this one so many times I have portions of it memorized. It’s the first episode I ever showed to my partner. I enacted Bear Down Protocol in my own campaign.
Bride or Die: (gestures to all of my oxventure tag) Do I need to explain.
Watch Out!: Very long and very silly. Love to watch Luke go, and the others playing along. Love that Luke based it on a museum he knows and loves. Love just the entire concept of Hengist. and. Merilwen’s Microwave :)
Dine Hard: World’s wildest plan goes off without a hitch when that plan didn’t even have a defined goal. Luke and Jane roleplaying at the absolute top of their game. and. Liliana hot. I know she doesn’t melt a man til start of next episode but extra points for that anyway.
Squid Pro Quo: I Was There, Gandalf. The spiraling insanity of Dob’s social engineering feels like he’s the one succumbing to eldritch madness and absolutely nothing could be funnier. Peak shenanigans that not even the players are in control of.
Wedded Redemption: Who would’ve thought Aubrey the tabaxi would be so endearing! Hilarious to learn that Harry McEntire ended up there because the only request he’d ever made of his agent was to do a D&D show! Despite what Andy says I think the title pun is great! And guess what! This one’s also a fancy party!
Court in the Act: I will never be over the fact that Corazon egoed his way into being arrested. It was only supposed to be Dob, it was very explicitly supposed to be Dob, but Corazon made a bit of drawing attention away from Dob and Johnny immediately adapted the setting to accommodate. The bit about replacing their nooses with pasta makes me crave udon to an unreasonable degree.
A Fête Worse Than Death: Body!!! Swap!!! Johnny summed up the feeling with, “That’s right folks, we’re doing it!” Also, Corazon holding the Seal Gaiman plushie to ransom, and then just holding it, 10/10.
Exhibition Impossible: Can you believe it, another fancy party! Corazon does cool pirate shit and looks cool doing it. Dob briefly attempts PvP before straight up walking away from a man begging for his life. Egbert brains an old man with almost no prompting. Seal Gaiman is born.
Tower Rangers: Liliana :) The different levels of the tower, the different kinds of Clonebert, and the plan to create infighting are all interesting and entertaining. I love the inventive circumnavigation of all Johnny’s expectations and I love that they do it all just to avoid Liliana as much as possible, because she’s that fucking scary. Cloud of Daggers :)

of fear and isolation
day 11 of redactober 2023 !
darlin/asher/david (unrequited love)
Darlin’ hung back. A ghost on the wall that always managed to disappear. Never heard, rarely seen. Overlooked.
They enjoyed it that way. Forming limited connections meant less heartbreak further down the road when they decided to leave. People always left.
Watching the two people you were hopelessly in love fawn all over the other made it a little less easy to not care. Apathy was something Darlin’ had spent their whole life in the company of.
Through their parents, their friends, Quinn. None of it had ever really mattered, just adding complexity to their grey life.
However watching David and Asher be David and Asher, now that created reds and blues. It caused dark greens and pale yellows. It wasn’t fair. Why had these two had such an affect on their life that no one had managed to before? Why the two mates who were so sickeningly in love, that it was apparent to everyone?
The Alpha and the Beta were every happy-ending given true form. They’d survived Gabe’s passing, Quinn, the inversion, and come out all the better for it.
Those events… they’d simply chipped further and further away at Darlin’s humanity. Left them scarred, broken, shattered. They would never recover from any of those moments in time. That was the simple truth of it all.
Milo had once begged them to tell his best friends about their secretly harboured feelings. That was met with a resounding no and a promise of violence if he ever told anyone.
So there they were, glued to the back wall like a parasite. They didn’t move, didn’t speak, as David gave his speech to his pack. All of whom were watching with great awe. David certainly wasn’t his father, but Darlin’ thought that might’ve just been a good thing. He bought so much more that Gabe (Bless his soul) had ever been able to.
After Liliana’s passing, Gabe had been broken. He’d attempted to keep the peace with his pack and himself, but Darlin’ saw. Kindred spirits and all that.
There was something familiar, even to their adolescent mind, in the way Gabe’s cracks seeped through into his everyday life. Maybe that’s why they’d felt such a close bond with the former Alpha.
Fiddling with their ring, they kept their gaze firmly on their mutilated hands while their ears remained tracked to every word that fell from between those sweet lips.
At one point they glanced up, feeling a gaze on them. Asher. Even from behind their sunglasses, they were positive he caught the way their eyes widened.
‘David’s speaking, why is he looking at me?’ They questioned silently, internally panicking at every out-of-place area on their body. 13. That’s how many they counted just with a quick mental scan.
Fuck.
‘Wait after. Please?’ Asher signed discreetly, nodding in their direction to confirm that he was speaking to them. Limbs paralysed and anxiety crippling their every survival instinct, they nodded and moved their unseeing gaze back to the Alpha.
In their peripheral, they watched as Asher kept looking at them for a few moments before turning back to his mate.
Sweat welled up along their hairline, a physical manifestation of their rapidly-increasing anxiety. Leaving now would draw too much suspicion, as well as alerting their friend Beta. The doors were far too loud to be moved without gathering unwanted attention.
They remained frozen, heart galloping in their chest for the duration of the pack meeting. Pack meeting. Honestly they weren’t even sure why they’d shown up; they certainly weren’t ‘pack’. Others had made that abundantly clear.
Oh god. A lightbulb flicked in their mind. David and Asher were kicking them out. They’d spotted Chrissy whispering to Ash not moments before the meeting began.
Fuck.
They were being kicked out. A loner. A rouge. Granted, majority of the time they felt like that anyway; but at least they still had the layer of being a Shaw on their back.
After this they’d be naked. Vulnerable. Totally alone.
Shit.
Noise finally penetrated their ears, seeping in around the buzzing. Clapping. The meeting had adjourned.
With the confirmation of their impending doom in their mind, Darlin’ did the one thing they knew their boys… their Alpha and Beta would hate the most.
They turned tail and ran.

For the spell hurt/comfort prompts, might I veer a bit off the given list and request some Dunamancy Shit with Reality Break (or any other fitting Dunamancy spell) for Ashton and any other character(s) you feel like?
(Also, sorry to hear about your D&D group ghosting you and hope you get to play soon!)
God. I hope so too. Because I’m about one more week of this uncommunicative bullshit away from saying “Peace! Good luck finding a way to play without me (the person who’s been organizing this group and hosting sessions at my house despite not being the GM)” Like, I understand life is full of surprises and can get in the way, but if I can’t get a simple “yes, no, maybe” out of these people in a timely manner about whether or not we’re playing (at my house!) any given week, I’m just done at this point. (Sorry about the rant, but this is a frustratingly on-going problem) Anyways, I did invite any spell, so let's go! Looking at this spell, it looks like the “Find Out” half of “Fuck Around” in the depths of Ashton’s half-beacon brain. Or from sending Ashton off the deep end as they draw from their dunamis chaos void of a brain.
Reality Break
(8th Level Conjuration/Chronourgy Dunamancy)
You shatter the barriers between realities and timelines, thrusting a creature within 60 feet into turmoil and madness. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw, or it can't take reactions until the spell ends (Concentration 1 minute). The affected target must also roll a d10 at the start of each of its turns; the number rolled determines what happens to the target as shown on the Reality Break Effects table.
At the end of each of its turns, the affected target can repeat the Wisdom saving throw, ending the spell on itself on a success
Reality Break Effects:
1-2: Vision of the Far Realm. The target takes 6d12 psychic damage, and it is stunned until the end of the turn
3-5: Rending Rift. The target must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 8d12 force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful save.
6-8: Wormhole. The target is teleported, along with everything it is wearing and carrying, up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space of your choice that you can see. The target also takes 10d12 force damage and is knocked prone.
9-10: Chill of the Dark Void. The target takes 10d12 cold damage, and it is blinded until the end of the turn.
Ashton can feel it, beneath the furious quaking earth of their being, curled under and around and through their mind: the void that is everything and nothing.
He's used to feeling it spit sparks with a battle rage. A barrage of fireworks firing from his head to bend and twist the world around him. The chaotic, fundamental building blocks of reality swayed by this power that is somehow his. Familiar and directable once it starts.
But this is different.
Deeper, stronger. A clinging net of power welling up to be cast. It's not meant to bend reality in their favor, to help and support. It is the void set to rend and destroy. This is the end of everything.
And it is at Ashton's command.
He casts, letting the void tear its way up the mental connection to rend Liliana, who is trying to fucking punish him for the fact that Bells Hells was caught, that Imogen is in danger and under the eyes of fucking Ludinus himself and the Weave Mind. As if Ashton isn't fucking pissed (scared out of their fucking mind) and looking to get Imogen out along with all of Bells Hells.
Liliana reels back, screeching in pain, ice crystals forming across her eyelids and extremities as Ashton's dunamis destroys the warmth within her body.
A face so like yet unlike their friend's bares teeth in their direction, not quite locking-on to them through the frosty obscurement, and an angry dagger of thought pierces their mind.
It hurts, but what doesn't fucking hurt in Ashton? They just give her an unseen toothy grin in turn, flexing their chaotic magic against her once more, causing the ice crystals to thicken as they destroy more of her vital warmth.
This time, as Liliana uncurls from the pain, electricity unfurls from her body as well to dance across Ashton's enchained form. It's unpleasant as fuck, especially with the way it clings to the gold embedded in their left side, making their muscles convulse.
Though as the ice crackles away from Liliana's eyes, they widen in some sort of shock or horror. Liliana's body locks in tension, arrested by whatever Ashton's chaos magic is showing her (he thinks he can glimpse it, and it's fucking horrifying and mind-breaking). He gives a testing yank to his chains, but they're not giving.
Ashton watches as Liliana's body loosens, only to gather frost once more as his magic surges once again.
"I've had enough of you," she growls, lightning crackling around her hands.
It's strong, this Lightning Bolt, screaming through their body, bouncing along the golden veins. Ashton's vision goes white with the brightness and the pain. They keep their grip on the dunamancy writhing around Liliana as their body judders under the electrical pulses.
They're left panting a hanging from their chains in the aftermath.
"Had enough?" Liliana pants herself, blood dripping down her face from a nosebleed, from skin chapped and split by the cold of the void.
His heavy head lifts to meet her gaze, a manic grin pulling at his lips. "Have you? 'Cause I can keep going."
And they push on the power surrounding her, making it surge once more, vague visions of horror flicking at the back of their mind and obviously at the forefront of hers, stunning her once more.
Another yank on the chains, another failure to get free.
Ashton's powers twist against her, a portal sucking Liliana up from her position at the door to spit her back out within Ashton's reach with enough force to leave her winded on the ground, an arm grotesquely bent out of shape.
"Looking pretty rough there," Ashton taunts, testing their chains and finding enough just enough slack in them.
Liliana growls in response as she struggles to her feet, and psychic force bursts through Ashton's mind, clouding it, but they manage to shake it off with a snarl. And they can see fear gathering in her eyes as she realizes that it didn't blank their mind and break their concentration on the chaotic magic ravaging her.
Ashton grins, bloody and feral as he digs into that well of power and gets his brain sparking. Time stirs, blurring red and blue around him. And Ashton surges forward against his chains, causing them to break, so he can clock Liliana in her stupid fucking face.
It's so fucking satisfying to watch her drop to the ground. Ashton has wanted to punch a parent for so fucking long, and this one time he's gotten to do it, he knocked her right the fuck out.
There's a temptation with that body lying on the ground to end her. Liliana Temult is in way too fucking deep to rely on. She's a danger to him and all of Bells Hells.
...But Imogen would be sad if they did. And she could still be useful as an inside source of information.
So he rolls her unconscious form, happily pocketing some healing potions and magical items, before setting off to find and rescue the rest of his people.
I did roll for this. That's part of the fun! I gave the Liliana a +1 on her Wisdom and 300 health to scale with Otohan's roughly 500 (Fighter d10 to Sorcerer d6) and a spell DC of 20. Original Save: 8+1=Fail. 9 on the Table. 79 cold damage and blinded for the round. 15+1=Fail. Mind Sliver on Ashton Save: 4+1=Fail. 14 psychic damage. Nat 20 on the Concentration check. (Liliana is allowed to use the spell since she was already poking into Ashton's head so she kind of knew where he is/didn't need line-of-sight) 2nd Round: 10 on the Table. 52 cold damage and blinded for the round. 2+1=Fail. Shock Flare (4th Level) on Ashton Save: 12+9-2=Fail. 19 lightning damage and can't take a reaction until the next turn. 14+6-3=Success on Concentration. 3rd Round: 1 on the Table. 31 halved to 15 psychic damage because Aberrant Mind Sorcerers are resistant at Level 6 and stunned for the round. 9+1=Fail. Ashton vs Chains: Looking for a Nat 20, got 7. 4th Round: 10 on the Table. 64 cold damage and blind for the round. 6+1=Fail. Lightning Bolt (7th Level) on Ashton Save: (allowed a regular because he's Restrained but she's Blinded) 17+3=Save. 51 halved to 25 lightning damage. 18=9+Success on Concentration. 5th Round: 1 on the Table. 36 halved to 18 psychic damage and stunned for the round. 2+1=Fail. Ashton vs Chains: 5 6th Round: 8 on the Table. 52 force damage and knocked prone. 7+1=Fail. Synaptic Static on Ashton: Nat 20 on the save. 17 halved to 8 psychic damage. 5+9=Success on Concentration. Raging Punch: Nat 20 to hit. 1+4Str+5Prof+3Rage=13 doubled to 26 bludgeoning.

At some point during Dominaria United
Liliana: Jaya, I was hoping you could help me with something. I heard you dealt with Lim-Dûl in the past, correct?
Jaya: Dim-Bulb? Yeah, what about him?
The Raven Man, seething in the background: how dare she still call me by that name! 😡😡😡 Liliana, kill her!
Liliana: He might have been haunting me for most of my life.
Jaya: Oh shit, really? It does sound like a thing he would do. Hauntings are not really my expertize, but my advise is stay away from any magical rings.
Liliana: Yeah, I got that already. Thank you anyways.

i feel like we're gonna need a whole long individual post from you where you sum up your thoughts and feelings of c3ep51...it's a doozy and i'm interested to hear what you have to say!!😵‍💫
okay. okayyy. i just finished the ep so i haven't had a lot of time to think about it yet but. initial reaction is that i'm feeling a little hm. bad! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
obviously i haven't been on tungle so idk if a lot of other ppl feel this way or if i'm in the minority but. a lot of the latter parts felt bad. like in my soul, i mean. i was simply not having as good of a time as i wanted to be having.
cue complaining! apologies in advance:
it was like. liliana being obstinate, even with appreciably high rolls from imogen. ludinus giving this stupid-ass speech that went on for ages about how his life is sooo so so so hard. sky ship was a complete and utter bust. beau and caleb were a complete and utter bust. keyleth was obviously a complete and utter bust and then some. fcg was just stuck in a goddamn automaton for half the thing. destroying power cores maybe caused the key to malfunction, we'll find out, but they certainly didn't feel particularly influential in the final climax. nobody in the party even had an opportunity to do anything during initiative with the backpack having an AC of fucking 25 (when bh is only level 8!!!). laudna and ashton weren't even there, which obviously couldn't have been predicted or controlled, but it didn't feel good
i can appreciate and understand the idea of having it be very clear that this effort was actually futile from the beginning, because ludinus is unbelievably powerful and otohan beat their asses already and this was a plan centuries in the making and the manpower was there and the group is low-level etc etc. maybe this was always meant to happen, maybe the rest of the campaign as matt planned hinges on the majority of ludinus' plan succeeding, which is FINE. but i don't think i was alone in thinking that there was a non-negligible amount of hope going into this ep that something amazing might happen, esp with beau caleb and keyleth all explicitly involved. and it was all, very very unceremoniously, crushed piece by piece and all ludinus had to do was raise a fuckin pinky. you know what i mean? it just felt too easy for him. after watching bells hells painstakingly plan and desperately recruit help for two straight eps, i just sat here and watched ludinus shit and spit on all of that within seconds? felt bad. i think if there was more of an encounter, more of a fighting chance, then it wouldn't have made me as a viewer feel stupid for thinking something might actually fuckin work
i think it could be argued that the otohan fight in bassuras was similar in its feeling of futility, but like. it wasn't??? bc they were fighting her, they were doing damage, they were using up her spells and her legendary actions/resistances, and there was decision-making involved esp on laura's part. there was good rp and there was tension and risky choices, and the players were driving the ship. here it was like every single thing they threw at it didn't even make it in the door. the whole thing was over in one round
speaking of one round, i really actually quite unironically hated the 5 full minutes during which matt rolled 200 damage or whatever against keyleth. obviously because i love her, but also because it was the quintessential moment in the ep of making me sit here and go "what is the fucking point." one of the most powerful people on the entire planet, down before she can even think to do anything about it. and then vax shows up in this triumphant moment of divine victory just to get totally fucked. BY IMOGEN'S MOM, NO LESS. and NEITHER of them got a turn in initiative. bc ludinus is sooo smart and sooo powerful and sooo wise and sooo evil. vom
so anyway. i don't think i'm nearly as mad as this post makes me sound, but i am definitely having trouble finding parts about the latter half of this ep that i particularly enjoyed, at least in hindsight. like in the moment vax's appearance was Amazing. Legendary. but the fact that all it did was play into ludinus' hand made it feel lowkey like shit. so idk!
sorry this post turned into me saying mean things. i was trying to keep an open mind during my liveblog but i was quite frustrated at certain points lmao idk i'll keep thinking on it and you'll prob see posts from me if i change my mind about things

ok here is a VERY LONG dump of every somewhat coherent thought i have put together about my first greywaren read. for the love of GOD do not click read more if you haven't read the book. unless you want to spoil literally the whole book for yourself in which case go buck wild i guess
anyway
declan motherfucking lynch, you guys. he keeps making coffee even though it makes his stomach hurt because matthew likes the smell of it in the morning. he was the first person to ever love ronan. he tried not to love matthew but then matthew reached for his hand at the fair. when he was a child he organized records by color for fun. find whoever killed matthew and make sure they are never happy ever again. he didn't want to be the last one left. you were the story i chose for myself. literally the entirety of chapter twenty seven. he used ronan's sun dogs. he sat on the driveway and cried for the first time since his father's death. he cried again when he set the moth free. he's literally everything to me. he's everything to me
ON THE SEVENTH DAY THE LYNCH BROTHERS DISCOVERED THEY WERE FRIENDS ONCE MORE
i can't believe stief played the long con for so many years making us all believe niall was a soulless irredeemable bastard when actually he wasn't. when actually he loved declan more than anything in the world and loved ronan when mór couldn't and gave up the memory of declan's birth because it was too painful to keep
i want a whole spinoff series about the new fenian btw. he's a dreamt copy of a man who carries memories around in a briefcase. that is actually the tightest shit ever i'm not even kidding
matthew punched declan in the face. that is all
actually i lied i have more matthew thoughts. he knows american sign language. he asked bryde if bryde has any bones. seems to me that if i had to learn to be sad, you have to learn to be happy. he walked all the way to the barns from boston. how did he walk all the way to the barns from boston? also where did his hair go?
i feel like a FOOL for theorizing that bryde was the big bad and had been manipulating nathan when really nathan was the big bad all along and bryde was just some guy coping with his miserable existence. sorry bryde. also i really thought whoever dreamt liliana was gonna be someone we knew, not just some random man a thousand years ago, but yeah. ok. that's fine
CARMEN AND HENNESSY GIRLFRIENDS CONFIRMED. i was hoping for carlianessy but also i guess i understand why liliana had to die in order to share her vision with carmen so i will take it
hennessy monologues so that she doesn't really have to say anything at all. her first sweetmetal since jordan in white was the notecard of her broken heart. she threw herself at the lace because she could handle the pain without the fear. jordan saw herself as just jordan without hennessy before hennessy could see herself as just hennessy without jordan. she gave ronan a snakeskin tattoo. she brought adam back from the lace. shit's about to get real touching and i worked too hard to not get the satisfaction of seeing it go down
not as much jordan as i would have liked but i guess she completed most of her arc in mister impossible? i just want more of her i love her so much she's just so GOOD. she barely knew adam but she fed him sugar water to keep him alive even when she had to fight to stay awake. how about i just take you out of that suit now instead?
ronan! RONAN! he's human but he's not. he's an ancient entity in a human body but he grew up in this world so now there's real human in him, too. it's declan who first makes him remember himself. he belongs to both worlds, actually, so he gets to pick which one he wants and he chooses the one with everyone he loves in it. he has to choose between adam and the world and he chooses the world even though adam is everything to him. he gets to keep adam anyway. he's maybe the most powerful entity in existence and his parents (dreamers? manifesters?) were worried that maybe he would end the world but he saves it instead and it's because he's so full of love
adam. my adam. adam! (slamming my head against the wall btw)
i left my adam-specific thoughts for last because i could literally launch from my seat and crash through the ceiling if i sit here and think about him for too long. his accent came back. don't call me he says but then he finds chainsaw and he cradles her lovingly like he clearly has before and he cries with his legs intertwined in ronan's and he scries even though it's dangerous. 'cause i made this fake version of me, right, and i was wide awake when i did it. he speaks to the lace politely. over the summer he tried to convince himself not to love ronan every time he was alone but fell apart every time he saw ronan again. his face just wore a raw relief, a peace
i'm gonna tear the epilogue out of the book, shred it into small pieces, and eat it. what the fuck. jordan and declan are getting married. hennessy is there with her girlfriend carmen and henry is there with his mom and all the fox way women are there too. gansey and blue are there and honestly it tracks that they're both sociology majors. adam transferred schools twice (something something he's finally realized he's allowed to make changes in his life if they make him happy instead of suffering through the present for the sake of the future) and now he works for some secretive government agency because of course he does. ronan tells gansey he wants a wedding like this and adam said the same. ronan and adam are canonically engaged. what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck
i love this book i want to be buried with it the end
wait i came back to add something because i just remembered. hennessy brought adam back with just enough pieces of himself to actually be adam. it's like gansey being remade all over again. i love that stief keeps bringing characters back to life but like, slightly off. it's soooooooooooooo

to find promise of peace (and the solace of rest): a TMA fanfic

Chapter 1: October 2015
It was, quite frankly, probably the worst day Martin had had since getting moved to the Archives, which was saying something. His alarm hadn't gone off for some reason, so he'd had to rush out the door without eating in order to make his train on time; there'd been trouble on the Northern line that had caused him to miss his connection and have to wait for the next one, meaning he'd only just made it to work before he would be considered late; Tim had accidentally knocked over his tea and it had barely missed the stack of files Martin was trying to research (he just knew that would have been his fault somehow); he'd been hung up on three times trying to verify statements; and when he'd tried to call his mother to wish her a happy birthday, the nurse on duty had been the bossy one who'd never liked him anyway and had told him, condescendingly and specifically and with a spiteful emphasis on the last word, that Miss Liliana doesn't want any calls from you. He was stressed, he was tired, he was strung out. He was on his fifth cup of tea and hadn't brought one to Jon all day, he'd forgotten to pack a lunch and didn't have the money to buy until payday, and at this point he was just counting the hours until he could leave, something he hadn't done in months—not that being home would be any better, just that he could at least bury his face in his pillow and scream his frustration out.
He was the last one back from his lunch break, clutching his cup in both hands. Tim and Sasha were hard at work, Tim frowning and Sasha intent, but she was the one to look up and wave at his desk when she saw him. “We got a statement that mentions a Leitner. Jon wants you to check it against whatever catalogs you can come up with so we can figure out how his edition is different than the original. Says it's top priority.“
Martin made a noise of what he hoped came across as acknowledgment and agreement and sat down at his desk, opening the laptop and reaching for the sticky note with Jon's familiar loopy handwriting on it. He glanced at it, and his day went from lousy to full-on shit when he saw the words Ex Altiora.
“Oh, bloody hell,“ he muttered under his breath.
Tim looked up briefly from his computer. “You know the book?“
“Never read it, but I've heard of it.“ Martin began calling up all the catalogs he could think of, but he knew it was going to be hopeless. They'd never known much about Ex Altiora, but they'd all known it was never mass-produced; there had only ever been one copy, and that much sought-after. The old bag had been furious when…
He terminated that thought quickly. His last encounter with…her…hadn't been pleasant and wasn't one he wanted to relive. Not today. Not at work, anyway.
“How many Leitners are there, anyway?“ Tim asked, sitting back and stretching. “I mean, how many books did he have in that library of his?“
“Nine hundred seventy-eight,“ Martin said automatically. “According to rumor, anyway. Not like he ever let people have access to his collection.“
Tim let out a long, low whistle. Sasha cocked her head at him. “How do you know that?“
“I did my master's thesis on Leitners.“ It was a lie. An old lie, one Martin had trotted out rather a lot in the last eleven years. It had always served him well, but just then, he wished he hadn't said it. Tim knew he didn't have a degree, and he was sure to press Martin about it later.
Fleetingly, Martin gave a thought to cluing Tim in on what was really going on. What was out there. At some point he would need to tell them anyway; they were going to get too close, sooner rather than later, and it was better that they be prepared. Elias hadn't seen fit to tell them, apparently, if Jon's skeptic act was anything to go by (he had to be faking it, nobody could work for the Magnus Institute and disbelieve that hard), but surely he wouldn't have assigned Martin down here if he didn't want them to know. That Elias might not know had never once crossed his mind. It was definitely possible to work for the Magnus Institute without some idea of what it was about, witness the other three people in the Archives, but no way would he be able to head it up if he didn't.
At the moment, however, he put his head down and kept working.
“Martin.“ Jon's voice jerked Martin out of his work haze. He looked up to find Jon scowling at him…or at least in his direction. For once, Martin didn't actually think it was directed at him. Yet. “Have you been able to find anything on Ex Altiora in the catalogs?“
“No, sorry. I don't—it was a pretty rare book,“ Martin hedged. “I mean, there was only one copy.“
Jon's scowl deepened. Now it was for Martin. “Just because it hasn't turned up on any lists so far doesn't mean it isn't on any of them. You're going to have to try harder than that. We can't just give up because it isn't easy.“
Normally, Martin would have apologized, stammered out an excuse, something, but he was tired and overwhelmed and stressed all to hell and gone, and it all combined to make him snap back at Jon in a way he normally only did with people he trusted implicitly not to punish him for it, or didn’t care what they thought of him. “I'm not giving up. It's not just that it won't be on any of those catalogs because it was unique, it's because it wasn't any kind of history or instruction book. It was just a story, somewhere between an epic poem and a fairy tale, about a monster threatening a village that turns out to be bigger than they think every time they start preparing until they throw themselves off a cliff to escape it. The people who understood what it was and what it meant had a vested interest in other people not knowing, so naturally they'd be keen to keep it off of any publicly-available lists, and since there was only ever one copy of the original because nobody ever survived owning it long enough to duplicate it, there aren't going to be other editions out there. Jurgen Leitner's library wasn't all special editions of books expurgated for the general public, you know.“
He stopped, partly because he was out of breath and partly because his brain had just caught up with his tongue and was trying to throttle it. Jon looked rather like Martin had slapped him, and behind him, Sasha and Tim were both gaping at him like he'd just stripped naked and sung a lounge song. His cheeks burned, probably a bright red, but he pressed his lips together tightly to keep himself from apologizing. He hadn't actually said anything he needed to be sorry for.
Finally, Tim reached up and manually shut his jaw, then spoke up in a voice that was almost his usual jovial tones, which told Martin that was as much an act as his own usual soft-spoken awkwardness. “Martin's thesis was on Leitner's library, remember, boss? I think he knows what he's talking about.“
“I—yes, that's right, I'd forgotten.“ Jon sounded slightly off-balance and…almost subdued. “I—I apologize for doubting you. Undoubtedly you're correct about this.“
Was it Martin's imagination, or did he put slight emphasis on the word this? He decided not to mention it. “It's all right,“ he said, and he wasn't sure if it was true or not.
Slowly, he felt himself calming, at least a little. His computer beeped softly at him, telling him he needed to plug it in, and he twisted around to get at the cord. As he did so, Jon turned to Tim. “Have you had any luck in tracking down Gerard Keay?“
Martin fell off his chair.

There’s an animatic making its rounds in my mind too!
What’s an animatic you would want to do for Imogen?
Well first of all: I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR ANIMATIC IDEAS PLEASE. 👀
And for the Imogen animatic! It’s “Do You Want to Play” by Starkid Productions (I binged a bunch of Starkid musicals a few weeks ago lol), and it’s specifically for moonsters!Imogen. In that au, there’s a moment where 10-year-old Imogen is trying to run away from home, but gets followed by Liliana and Otohan. Imogen finally wolfs out and attacks the two before running away. I thought the song would fit the lead-up to it (Liliana and Otohan trying to convince Imogen to play with them - in the moonsters au Imogen has a stuffed elk toy that Otohana tries to convince her with), and the end part (laugh/screaming) being flashes of Imogen attacking them.
(Okay overly detailed lyric-by-lyric shit below the cut because I am not normal about this silly lil au 😅)
If you’re just looking at the lyrics, the song starts out super sweet (“sweetheart” “my lovely girl” etc), although in the musical the context is super creepy. The animatic would start with Imogen hiding behind a tree as Liliana tries to lure her out. Imogen is (rightfully) scared of Otohan, but doesn’t fully know Liliana is a werewolf, so by the line “Some funny games today”, Liliana’s persuasion has worked, and Imogen peaks her head out from behind the tree. She sees that Otohan is also there and immediately goes back to hide, but not before they notice her (“Becky, look, over there”)
Liliana and Otohan sing together as Imogen is covering her ears, trying to block them out. Liliana starts staggering as she walks, and at the “Do you want some candy” line, she falls to her knees as she starts transforming. The next line (“I want you to come here so we can play”) is sung by Otohan, and is also the mental image that first made we want to animate this! They’re literally just in a dramatic singing pose lol, but then there’s a cut to both werewolf!Liliana and Otohan together, with red highlights.
And then finally, with the loud “HAHAHAHA” at the end, that would be more fully rendered drawings of Imogen attacking then running away. After that, there are (and here’s where I reveal I know nothing about music because idk how to describe it) two sweet-sounding things of music, which would be a lil animation of Imogen sleeping with her elk toy and slowly turning into a werewolf (which I actually sorta drew hehe). Anyways thanks for the ask and for bearing with this kinda long explanation!

Probably unpopular opinions about Imogen, Relvin, and Liliana. This is what I interpreted of the characters with what we know so far, it might change in the future.
I like her dad far more than her mom, like her dad has problems, but he stayed, he was afraid, he didn't understand, but he stayed, and to be fair her powers ARE dangerous AND invasive and she can't control them completely, as horrible as it sounds he has reasons to fear her, but not only because of what her powers could do to him, but also because she is so much like her mother, the woman that leave them/him behind, and like a fucking greek tragedy it became a full circle in which the actions you take to not be hurt are directly related to creating the reaction that would end up hurting you anyway. He will not win father of the year anytime soon and yet I think he is a far better parent that Liliana is.
Even more, there was that moment right at the end of the interaction between Relvin and Imogen in which I completely understood what part of the problem with Imogen and him was and it wasn't her powers themselves but the way she uses them. She knows that her father doesn't like her powers, and I would have been completely fine with her showing sparks or breaking something to show that "we might have talked but I am still this way and proud of it". She didn't do that, she did the one thing that directly crosses over a boundary, she went right inside his mind WITHOUT CONSENT, and she can control it now, but still she tramped all over a boundary she knows her father has... with what purpose? She says something like "I never wanted you to be afraid of me" in words but in actions she seems to enjoy that she can actually scare him. The worst part is that she has the same boundary, she didn't like it at all when FGC went deeper inside her mind without her consent, but she does it to everyone without problem, only pulling out when she knows she is going to be discovered. At that last moment, when her father was doubtful of what to do, how to act, she did the one thing that would immediately put him in a defensive state and she did it knowingly, I don't understand her there. Now... about Liliana ¿What do we know of her and her reasons to leave? She did it to protect Imogen. Well, she left Imogen in a town full of people that Liliana knew didn't understand the kind of power she had, she hid her own for a reason, and yet she left her daughter there. She was supposedly searching for answers, but you don't need to leave forever to do that, you don't need to go incommunicado, she could come and go, but she didn't. She could even start sending messages once she learned how to do it but she didn't. Till the last episode she could had get involved in something she was scared of running away from, but now it seems she fully supports them, so she became part of a cult. I believe her to be the kind of parent that will give themselves the excuse that what they are doing is for the good of their children but really the children are an excuse for doing what they want to do without having to really feel guilty. Selfish parents that don't want to recognize they are selfish and bad parents. The more I know about Liliana the more I think Imogen will never be a true priority for her, but she will never admit it (I might be wrong in all accounts, we'll see). Apart from that, the way Imogen has been acting since she knew Ludinus and Liliana's intentions, all that shit about killing the gods... it's driving me crazy, like I understand the philosophical question (I might actually side on Ludinus part of the reasoning if it wasn't more than an idea), but I don't think it's a philosophical matter at that point, it's a very real thing that is soon to be put in practice and they have been killing people and doing horrible things to people to achieve that, some of those people weren't only Fearne and Orym (twice for him because of his family and his actual death), but also Laudna, Imogen says Laudna is her tether and yet she doesn't seem to register that this people killed Laudna like two weeks ago because she was Imogen's favorite, because killing Laudna could unleash Imogen's powers, this people don't care at all about collateral damage, and if they don't care about it at that small scale they will not care about it at a global scale neither. Then Imogen went to talk to Laudna, in a serious way for the first time since Laudna was resuscitated, to see if Laudna too was against liberating Predathos, like... this people killed Laudna, Otohan killed her like Laudna's only value in the world was the value Imogen gave her, like she didn't have her own value. It was clear that Laudna doesn't agree with them and yet, when she said that she would be with Imogen no matter what Imogen decided to do, Imogen never corrected her, she never reassure Laudna that she would never go with the people that killed her, that she will never go against the people that brought Laudna back, she was satisfied knowing that Laudna would side with her, not matter what Laudna would have to sacrifice if that ever came to happen. So... at the end of the last episode I don't like Imogen very much, I understand that she is confused, but her priorities are all around the place. I also think Laura is playing her masterfully, Imogen is acting like an amalgamation of her parents worst qualities at this moment, she is being obsessive and selfish like Liliana, she also has been standoffish with Laudna, the way Relvin was with her after Liliana leave him, and after Imogen's return... It's perfect!

Liliana of the Veil.
Hello Cat!
Ah yes, Liliana Vess, badass necromancer extraordinare and one of my mother's waifus (though my mother doesn't understand the concept of a waifu). She's a super fascinating planeswalker, which to me denotes the "other entity" category in my own praxis (so she's a "spirit" of some kind, if "spirit" is the overarching term commonly used).
But let's talk about Liliana of the Veil. She's actually one on the cheaper end, as far as planeswalkers go - 3 energy total, 1 generic and 2 Black. Planeswalkers work a little different from creatures, where they start with a particular number of loyalty counters (the number on the bottom right - in this case, Lili has 3 of them) and can gain or lose them through the different card effect. You can never go below 0 loyalty, and your opponent's creatures can target your planeswalker instead of you - because in the lore, YOU, the player, are a planeswalker, and your deck is spells you know and allies you can summon. You are arguably the most powerful planeswalker in the lore (other than Aminatou, the 8 year old black girl who can rewrite fate), which is why the story never writes about you.
Anyway, Liliana's plus 1 loyalty ability is to make each player discard a card from their hand. Her minus 3 loyalty ability is to make target player sacrifice a creature form the battlefield. Her minus 6 loyalty ability is that the controller gets to sacrifice all permanents target player controls into two piles. Then the target sacrifices all permanents in the pile of their choice.
I see the beginnings of a spell to take something away, don't you? Limiting your enemy's options and whatnot... So we're gonna take a page out of the book of Duress and set some shit on fire!
Let's start out with some divination. This can cover the generic cost, unless you want to specifically do bone or dice divination for one of the Black costs. You're gonna want an idea of stuff in your near future and stuff in your enemy's near future, and write those options down on index cards (make sure you clearly separate which is which). You're gonna take something of equal-ish weight to what you want to remove from their future and sacrifice yours first, paying one of the Black costs. Being very petty and vindictive will also help pay for the final cost. Burn your index card first (PRACTICE BASIC FIRE SAFETY) and then burn theirs. Then wham bam thank you ma'am, we're good to go!
This was fun to figure out, thanks Cat!

The next dragon age game should be out in the next few years and netflix has a dragon age show coming out (I'm nervous about that tho, knowing Netflix and their habits)
Also: ELDERSCROLLS ONLINE while they dont have as many lgbtq+ elements as the Dragon age series, they are trying. Its been a few years since I did a through play through, but there are many gay men and women in the game, the daedra are sexless entities who chose their own pronouns ( he/him,She/her) and there is an intersex god, though he goes by He/him pronouns, and there's a MtF trans woman in the Summerset Expansion who you go to find for her sister, but her sister didn't know that 1.she was trans and 2.She had used magic to fully transition. And while at first her sister Deadnames her out of shock, once she realizes that she has A Sister and not a brother, they embrace and they sit at the beach to talk to one another because the Cis sister genuinely loves her Trasgender Sister and feels that its time she truly gets to know her.
Honestly I'm so happy that as tome progresses, fantasy games get more and more inclusive and openly so.
Also in dragon age inquisition there are 4 main possible lgbtq romances I'm aware of
Dorian-Gay wizard, his dad tried to use forbidden magic to force him to be strait, when he caught wind of what his dad planned,he left. You can help reconcile the two,and if you're character is male, you can romance him(ive romanced him as a male character cause one of my closeted friends wanted to do so but couldn't risk getting caught,so I romamced him and recorded it for him on my phone at the time, and let him use my phone whenever he wanted, things are much better for him now btw) if you dont romance him,he dates The Iron Bull.
-The Iron Bull: Man or woman he don't care,if your a consenting adult,he will fuck you. I love his pick up line. "Ive picked up on your hints and its obvious you want to...Ride the Bull"(Like YES! YES I DO!)
-Sera: Lesbian mischevious Elf. She has alot of internalized racism to her own people due to childhood trauma but I have a soft spot for her. Shes passionate and while she may see things in Black or White, when she loves someone, she loves deep. Also I love her Tit jokes.
Josephine:Lady Josephine is the eldest child and has many resposabilities. She has great diplomatic skill and empathy. She's a little dense and it takes Liliana (lovingly) threatening you with harm if you harm her for her to realize you like her romantically (you also just gotta plane tell her) you can be either gender. Also you get to duel for her hand in marriage.
Anyway imma try and sleep, gotta doc apt. In the morn but thank u for letting ne ramble!
oof i dont trust netflix in the slightest and imma be he s i t a n t on that part
and honestly so far that sounds incredible!! gjkfdldkjfsd god d a m n so much rep right there, its makin me smile from ear to ear like a doofus <3 and im glad things are better for your friend, it sucks that ur friend couldnt get ‘caught’ like smh get caught what? Get caught loving another human being even IF that being is fictional? but at least things are better for your friend now and it was a v kind thing for you to do to record it for him!!
and HGJFKLDJFGDSL The Iron Bull sounds amazing too and im loving him immensely so just from desc alone rn Sera sounds lovely in her own right tbh- poor girl tho, childhood trauma- not,, not fun- can fuck up a l otta shit- and FUCK YES!!!! DUELING FOR HAND IN MARRIAGE- THATS THE GOOD SHIT RIGHT THERE!!! jfgkldfgnjds can you tell i love shit like that??
and got’cha, hope the doc apt goes well!! and no problem!! anytime ya feel like ramblin my inbox is always open!

here are my prediction on how the resolving of SIX books and roughly 60000 plotlines is going to be done in 352 pages
-ok so adam was scrying right? so i forgot how ley lines actually worked but ive decided that when the ley line power went out the connection between the waking and dream world is severed in other words adam’s soul is in the dreamscape where he was trying to reach ronan & his body is in a coma. ronan and bryde are also trapped in the dreamscape because why not i forgot what actually happened in mi.
declan is like ok i should probably tell adam’s friends that he is in a coma or whatever so he calls gansey blue and henry to tell them what ronan has been up to they say hi. no hint of sarchengsey no iconic lines the line just goes dead. gansey, understandably upset that ronan has been committing ecoterrorism and NO ONE TOLD HIM, and also adam parrish prince among men is in a coma, crashed the car. they’re fucking dead. bye
declan also has to navigate adam’s pathetic apostles nice college friends being useless. jordan is also there and roasts them mercilessly of course.
-we get some boring ass farooq lane x liliana did anyone else feel like our only lesbian couple were kinda halfhearted? anyway that’s all the sapphic action we’re gonna get
-adam and ronan hate kiss and bryde is like yo i’m right here
-adam is worried hes gonna miss his exams and bryde is like do you see ronan? the foolishness of the common folk? the non dreamers dont give a shit about you or the ley lines or the world and you should never love a non dreamer actually you should never love anyone ever if their life doesnt revolve around you and their priorities don’t perfectly align with yours and ronan is like well i am weirdly obsessed with commitment and being super close and tbh this is appealing to me and adam is like hey some of us can’t dream food and money into existence 🙄
-declan is sitting at the foot of matthew’s bed. matthew is asleep because he’s a fucking dream. dusk is falling or whatever. declan angsts about his unprocessed grief for his mom and how he channels that into acting like dreams arent real. sad violins.
-jordan is like dude you proposed to me meaning you secretly believe that dreams are actual persons. also can we talk about that proposal and the way both you and ronan have the same very specific idea of commitment
-then hennessy walks in and is like what’s up here’s the deal about me and jordan mkay so she’s not a dream at all she is my twin sister. she used to be the dreamer and she had this lace problem the whole time until she dreamt the dream ability into me she also dreamt me the fake memories of dreaming her and also her most traumatic memories, the ones related to our mom, so that she doesn’t have to deal with them. i discovered this knowledge through the hard and introspective experience of liliana telling me.
-probably the mor o corra plotline gets shoehorned in there as well but i forgot what it was all about so decide for yourself what happened there. use your imagination.
-probably some other shit goes down too idk im hungry
-basically i expect maggie is gonna take all these fucking plotlines and character development waiting to happen and rollllll it up in the world’s messiest gayest ball of yarn and stuff it in 352 pages and everyone is gonna be stressed about it. have a good day
